Gosh that pistol is BURIED in that holster. May want to consider either a larger pistol (not sure if that is accurate for the cosplay) or getting a fitted holster. Lots of companies sell holsters that are fitted for specific gun models. Also you could get one of these http://www.amazon.com/Condor-Tornado-Tactical-Holster-adjustable/dp/B007IWMG6E as you can adjust it to fit the gun itself. Just a suggestion. Job well done otherwise!

FYI these are consistently $35 on Amazon

I had one but returned it, wasn't anything wrong with it I just prefer my other holsters

I think the larger concern would be trying to fumble for it in the middle of the night. I have a bedside holster just for that reason. I use this one from Blackhawk [BLACKHAWK! 40BH00BK Bedside Holster-Ambidextrous] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007ZNU532/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_SqPACb6DV0Z4B)

u/Leroy_Kenobi · 5 pointsr/CCW

I got this Safariland holster.

I saw it being recommended frequently when I looked up holsters for a 92fs so I went with it. For my first holster, I have no regrets. It's comfortable to wear and it holds the 92fs pretty well.

u/qweltor · 5 pointsr/CCW

> Do you think with the XDS, I would need a trigger guard?

Imagine leaning over the counter, etc to reach over for something, and your body presses against the top/rear of the backstrap. Imagine leaning a little bit further, and something catches against the trigger as your body pushes the pistol down. As the trigger moves rearward (with relation to the pistol moving downward), the pistol functions as designed. Hope the pistol ain't pointed toward anything important or valuable.

-----

Did you know that the Clipdraw's instructions say:

> Do not carry with the pistol loaded. This is not a safe carrying method. To prevent unintentional discharge, only load the pistol once ready to shoot [meaning after you have already pulled the clipdraw pistol out of your belt].

Previous discussion on r/guns and r/ccw. The general consensus, without a trigger covering, is NO.

I don’t have much to compare to but I’ll do my best to write a review and my overall thoughts. As well as my upgrade plans.

Recoil:
Wasn’t bad, it was manageable and I was able to adjust to target again quickly. I’ve read with an upgraded recoil spring this can be improved on further and I will likely do so.

Trigger:
Surprisingly good. I’ve read the 1.0 had a crap trigger and the M2.0 was an improvement but wasn’t sure just how much. I’ve never shot a 1.0 but this seemed really good. The reset felt solid, I didn’t have any issues.

Accuracy:
I can’t comment on this yet since I’m a crap shot currently, I wouldn’t dare blame the gun for that.

Grip:
Incredible, plain and simple.

Performance:
I shot a little over 100 rounds this session with no jams, using 3 kinds of ammo (1x box of Federal & 1x box of American Range Ammo, as well as a magazine of Critical Defense). The gun went bang every time, was easy to rack the slide. Not sure what else to say, it works and it works well.

Loading Magazines:
I know some people mention issues with loading magazines being difficult. Just slap it in, it’s a tough gun and you don’t need to be gentle. I didn’t see much resistance in loading magazines but I always smack it in to make sure it’s seated properly and I had zero difficulty and zero problems as a result.

Overall:
I love the Shield 2.0 based on the first day. It’s an incredibly concealable and seemingly reliable gun that has some mixed adds features and a larger carrying capacity over the Glock 43 which had been my other consideration.

Near-Future Upgrades:

Trijicon Night Sights - already have them but I need to get them installed
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IUB098E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_zaz763mdj9bbN

Hyve Extended Mag Release - nothing wrong with the standard one but my hands are a bit smaller so I plan to change it
https://hyvetechnologiesbuilder.com/index.php/product/extended-mag-release-for-the-shield/

Crimson Trace Laserguard Pro Green Laser w/ Light - Best option for a tactical laser and the Crimson laser does not increase the amount of space the gun takes up outside of its already existing maximum dimensions.
https://tacticalgear.com/crimson-trace-ll-801g-laserguard-pro-with-iwb-holster-green

MagGuts - new internals for the standard 7-round magazine which increases it’s capacity to 8. I like the 7 round mags for carrying over the 8s because it keeps the gun extremely concealable while giving me an extra round.
https://www.magguts.com/collections/shield

Techna Clip Gun Belt Clip - alternative to an IWB holster. The clip replaces the slide plate direclty
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B012Y8RAWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_rbrGAbQJE56SB

Upgrade Considerations:

Safariland GLS 578.

Their sizing is slightly confusing, as I think the 92 variants fit into their LongSlide/StandardFrame using an included shim, but the size chart on their website shows this (LongSlide/WideFrame) as the appropriate size for the Beretta.

I use a Clip Draw with my Bodyguard 380,https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00T19NYDQ/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_LOYozbFR35V7M. I know a lot of people will hate, that there is no cover for the trigger, but between the manual safety and the ridiculously heavy trigger pull I feel comfortably safe and have not had an issue in 4+ years. The best part is you can wear it with gym shorts that will tie tight.

u/dizzle4287 · 3 pointsr/Glocks

I use this with no complaints: Concealment Express: Glock 19/23/32 IWB KYDEX Holster (Carbon Fiber Black, Right) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UFEGKWS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_yXjkybQXN5H31

Lighting is the most important factor in a midnight encounter. How does it fit with a light, like the TLR-1?

u/thermal_shock · 3 pointsr/CCW

i got the same one from amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Concealment-Express-IWB-KYDEX-Holster/dp/B00TCOU09G?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

not a bad holster, i do recommend getting a belt though, using one like this with one clasp seems to droop a little for me.

u/inversechaos · 3 pointsr/EDC

Yea sounds like a good plan but some tips on hugging: for hip carry make sure your carry side arm is the low arm in the hug if that makes sense. and for appendix just make sure you keep your butt back during the hug. but as for the surprise hugs from behind and little kids in general I would probably suggest an alternate carry method like the can can concealment I'm not too familiar with this one, but the one I can recommend is the smart carry its basically like a fanny pack that sits over your private parts so no real way of accidental touching (and its really comfortable to me at least.

u/CrossShot · 3 pointsr/CCW

Yeah, if you have the G3 one they sent you the wrong holster.

This is the G3 one. Notice the model designations, M44BJG3Z0 vs M44BJG5Z0

If you compare your picture to the user picture of the G3 holster you'll notice the very tight stitching near the trigger guard area.

Whereas the the G5 holster user picture has very loose stitching.

Also on your holster it cleary states G3 where on your Amazon order link it clearly states M44BJG5Z0. I would contact Amazon about the mix up they may not even be aware

I just picked up a S&W Shield .40 3 weeks ago and I love it! Width = 0.95" / Height = 4.5" / Length = 6.1" / weight (Empty) = 19oz. It is so comfortable to carry. (Specs are the same for the 9mm)

I bought a Techna Clip belt clip that I attached to the gun to keep a very low profile when I carry. (https://www.amazon.com/Techna-Clip-Gun-Belt-Wesson/dp/B012Y8RAWG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479923421&sr=8-1&keywords=techna+clip+shield)

I also bought a trigger guard for it also when I carry. (https://www.amazon.com/Fixxxer-custom-F-I-X-Holster-conceal/dp/B00NDVN0RS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479923545&sr=8-1&keywords=m%26p+shield+trigger+guard)

With these two things it is extremely low profile and very comfortable to wear all day. I can even wear slim fit shirts without any type of bulge, from the gun, showing around my belt line. This is a highly recommended gun. If you go to wikiarms.com you can find some really good deals on things like ammo and guns. You can pick up a Shield for under $300!!!! Link below.

The thing about generic kydex holsters is that someone is always making the same thing. I can buy these holsters for cheaper on Amazon with free shipping. Here's the one I own, which is identical but with adjustable cant. ($34.95):

Buy one off Amazon. I found mine in a grey color for about that...

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0014VVLRA/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_1Ptyub0DP3VQV

Here you go.

u/Zoshchenko · 2 pointsr/CCW

I bought it off Amazon.

It has this jumbled text in the description: DESANTIS M44 Super Fly Pocket Holster Ambidextrous Black P32/P3AT/LCP w/CT LG Nylon M44BJG5Z0

u/Studman96 · 2 pointsr/EDC

I love mine so far. I started out with a Concealment Express AIWB, cheapo kydex holster off of Amazon, just to see if I liked appendix carry. The Stealthgear is definitely far more comfortable, the material doesn't stick to your skin like the pure kydex does. It really comes down to whether or not you like appendix, what your body-type is, etc. If you do, then this holster is definitely worth it.

Only downside is the high price tag and the 25-day turnaround.

u/aphrozeus · 2 pointsr/CCW

I don't know how long it will be until your new holster comes in but you should at least get something that doesn't let your gun fall on the floor while taking a leak in the meantime. Don't want to be dropping guns on the floor in public bathrooms.

u/Reus958 · 2 pointsr/CCW

The cheapest is the [$15 Blackhawk A.R.C.](BLACKHAWK Ambidextrous Appendix Reversible Carry Inside the Pants Holster fits Glock 43, Urban Gray https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XL1PHYO/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_obcrybSPNEW23) (you can find one for your gun). I ordered one, but I've been so happy with my cya and so busy that I didn't pick it up yet. it's a $15 holster so don't expect something wonderful.

u/182ndredditaccount · 2 pointsr/CCW

>and pocket carrying my LCP II is impossible because it prints so damn bad in slacks.

https://www.amazon.com/BORAII-Eagle-Pocket-Holster-RUGER/dp/B01M67CXWJ

I use one of these and it gives the gun a rectangular shaped print in the pocket. No one would guess it's a gun unless they already knew.

u/Gator_Stubby · 2 pointsr/CCW

"Skinny" guys can AIWB pretty easy, Have you tried up front?

Here is a pretty good yet cheap holster to try out AIWB - https://amzn.com/B00XL1PHYO

u/PrometheusSmith · 2 pointsr/CCW

I carry a G43 IWB with a Blackhawk ARC. I carry my gun on my 4:30 or so, right handed. I've had this holster for several months now, and I think it fits the criteria you are wanting.

It covers almost the entire gun. The muzzle end is open, but the inside of the holster stays lint free.

It is made from one piece of material, so the corners are all rounded, plus there is a slight amount of give to the material that keeps it from digging in. However it keeps its shape well enough that it would never collapse when you try to reholster.

The retention is all on the trigger guard, and is adjustable with a single screw.

The trigger is completely covered, but the holster does not block the bottom of the trigger guard. You can get a perfect grip on the gun.

The two clips that are included with the holster will fit 1.5" and 1.75" belts. They are adjustable for ride height, and the cant is infinitely adjustable, but will not change once set and tightened.

It is not tuckable, but the low cost means that you won't be upset if you need a tuckable holster down the road. And when I say low cost, I mean really cheap. Less than a box of range ammo.

One side note, the trigger shape is not molded into the holster.

P.S. I wear a 5.11 tactical belt.

u/NorteastDesigns · 2 pointsr/Nerf

The holster I tested with, and the holster I recommend, is the "Condor Tornado" on Amazon.

u/MikeCox-Hurz · 2 pointsr/gundeals

I was uncomfortable carrying this with a soft holster so I purchased a BORAII. I also got a IWB holster from DeSantis that I really like and carry appendix. Overall I like the LCP II more than the original but they really need to come out with an extended mag that locks the slide back.

That seems to be the main company that sells the kit. It seems simple enough as a kit, however it shouldn't be too bad if you are handy with tools and have patience.

Another link for it on amazon, https://www.amazon.com/Clipdraw-Ambidextrous-Concealed-Glock-Black/dp/B00WKDTJ6Q

$26.50 plus yadayada seems reasonable enough.

u/existentialaccount · 2 pointsr/gundeals

I use one of these. Know that you generally can find them much cheaper on amazon. And use amazon smile so you give a percentage of your purchase to charity, no extra cost to you.

https://www.desantisholster.com/super-fly/

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B003K84C9O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That amazon link is for an LCP II with crimson trace laser since that's what I have.

I can't speak enough good about the super fly holster. I was using a sticky for 6 months or so until I got the desantis. The problem with the sticky holster is it doesn't cover the grip so that can still print. Not enough for most people to notice but enough that someone who knows what they're looking for could spot it. Also, the sights on the LCP were tearing my pockets. They just rub and rub and break though my pockets. I take the velco shield piece of the desantis and move it up a bit (it's hook and loop) so it covers the grip and sights. Now it just looks like a big wallet in my pocket. Square. No way to tell it's a firearm at all.

u/2A_is_the_best_A · 2 pointsr/SmithAndWesson

Mine runs what I feed it. Mostly CCI fiocci SV stuff. I don't buy the lowest tier crap, though.

I use a vortex dot. I have a 3moa never version on this gun, but the 6moa that you can find cheap is also very good.

No remorse. I had to adjust the ejector for reliability, but that takes like 2 minutes with an allen wrench. No big deal.

Check these [guys] (https://www.alabamaholster.com/product/front-pocket-holster/) or these guys out. I know there are a few more kydex options out there but I'm not sure off the top of my head. I started with one of these which is fine but I think the curve would be better.

u/spnknmymunky · 1 pointr/Glocks

I personally use the block mic holster (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006VYBAZ8) and the clipdraw ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000G3C5J0) on my glock 23. Its super convenient I can carry it any where in my waistband and don't have an added weight or bulk of a holster.

That pic is not mine just one I grabbed from the internet. But the same belt. I carry an lc9 usually in a blade tech klipt because it's fast on fast off

Blade-Tech Industries Klipt Ruger LC9 IWB Holster, Black, Right https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CD95BQO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_dPmRzbYQ5JH7E

I also have a stealth gear and alien gear as well. I want to use the stealth gear but the klipt is just so convenient. Ironic that I use the cheapest the most. Klipt was 20, alien gear 40, stealth gear around 100.

I want to get more belt man belts as well, a horse hide tan, one in black, and the elephant belt because it's mother fu king elephant!

u/FD9WCB8 · 1 pointr/Glocks

I have carried everything from comptac mtac, infidel, incog iwb, and for the life of me, I thought this holster was going to be a joke :https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007QG6ZGE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Turns out, it fits my carry needs for deeper concealment more than anything on this list.

I travel from site to site for cell tower inspections. I wear blue jeans and a company polo tucked in. This allows me to not have to blouse my shirt and look more presentable. I was going to try ankle holster next but this is the one for me.

I think this is a knockoff for smartholster.

Blade-Tech Industries Klipt Ruger LC9 IWB Holster, Black, Right https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CD95BQO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_TcDBybNP4HHFT

It makes a very satisfying and reassuring "click" sound when the gun is holstered. Love it for AIWB.

I carry appendix. And I love this holster. I honestly forget I'm wearing it most of the time. They have a summer version too which is nylon and lighter. But it's easier to get at the trigger. Either way I like both of them.

u/Spovik · 1 pointr/CCW

I had bought a StealthGearUSA SG-Revolution and I've been happy with it.

It didn't fit so well when I was bigger and pants were a bit more baggy, but but after slimming down and wearing clothes that fit, it carries so much better. I carry at 3 o'clock.

u/WTFisThatSMell · 1 pointr/guns
u/MofoJack · 1 pointr/guns

You may want to check out this guy. I have one for my Bodyguard and it is extremely tacky on both sides (much more so than their Nemesis line) and I've never had any draw problems...it really does stick to the lining of your pocket. Furthermore, it has a detachable panel that even further conceals the print (personally, I don't carry it, but it's an option). As everyone else has said, an exposed trigger on a pocket holder is an accident waiting to happen.

u/OfBlinkingThings · 1 pointr/guns

That holster will do the trick!

For bedtime I use this:

It's simple and easy to draw from without fumbling. Cheap too

This is specifically the one I use I was nervous that it just goes on with "tape" but it's some sort of futuristic alien space tape and it hasn't failed in almost 3 years (knock on wood) but I like this better than the original ClipDraw because you can put it as far down or up on the slide as you want and you don't have to do any drilling into the gun

I bought a cheap belly band just to see if I liked the concept/feel before investing into a quality made one like the kinds you referenced. I hated it. I wore it once and now it sits in a drawer. Very uncomfortable, itchy, etc. like others have mentioned.

However bad that experience was, I would still consider this:
