I've never ordered the nylon one. To be totally honest, I don't know why they sell it. I didn't think they did, I had to look. Nylon is horrible for slings - it slips and stretches.

Get the cotton one, or of off Amazon.

Edit: or, if you have a CMP account, buy one from them.

I assume you are trying to attach a US GI sling, like so, to the rifle. If so, just remove the metal clip piece from the bottom of the sling and replace it with a sling piece like I linked before. Then you can use your existing sling mount point. Later, if you want to change the stud, you can just swap back the clip on the sling.

Sure - but just a warning - the Offworld jacket is the most expensive part of the outfit. It's a USMC WEP style jacket, which is typically a Nylon shell and goes for $200+. On the show, however, they used a RipStop material, which isn't as shiny. If you don't care about that, you can save yourself about $100.

I followed this Costume Guide

I wasn't looking for anything crazy and it's the cheapest one I could find, no problems with it so far:

Basic guide to how you run an AR with a sling.

Don't screw with 1-point or 3-point slings. You want a quick adjust 2 point sling. VTAC, Vickers, Proctor, or something with the same basic functionality.

This is my favorite of the super cheapo 2-point slings that still allows you to get some experience with sling technique if you're not ready to drop money on a quality sling yet.

Buy this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JA9E1S8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Then take off the clasps and the 2 to 1 point ring and attach to rifle with paracord.

The clasps are junk, you won't need to ring to go to 1 point. The rest of the sling is solid. Easier than building one from scratch and prob costs just about the same.

It has the quick slider adjustment loop which is handy.

I've been using it for about 2 years

I love the bag, and honestly don't think there's a better one on the market for this size.

FYI the bag doesn't sit on the ground. It'll flop forward every time

I don't use it on a belt, I put a leather gun sling on it and tote it around on my shoulder, then hang it on things. My sling is similar to this one

You're going to love this bag.

I'll take a picture of how I have mine set up for you tomorrow.

I recommend a 2 point sling with quick adjustment. such as the regular vtack sling. I advise agaist the padded sling or wide sling as it is bulky which is what you dont't want. If you don't already have a front sling attachment point you will need one that either attaches to your picattiny rail or mlok/keymod depending on how your foreend is configured. Sinceyour stock is setup for ball detent QD makes sense to do the front in the same.

qd sling adapter for rear stock

picatinny 45 degree QD sling point with D attachment

Mlock QD sling point with QD atchment.

keymod sling point with QD

You do not want a single point sling as it will swing freely when you run and beat up you knees, a 2 point is versitile and can be used to cinch the gun tight to chest or back when running, wrapped around the support forearm for shooting stability, or if looped over the right shoulder falls hown over left hip for pistol transitions.

While I’m sure OP has a great company, and his slings are a great product, if your like me and lurk this sub to find gear that works at the lowest price, [I picked these](accmor 2 Point Sling, 2 Pack Multi-Use Two Point Gun Sling/Rifle Sling with Metal Hook for Outdoor Sports https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071W3P55P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ywA5CbRE4X2KW) up about a year ago, hundreds of rounds downrange, a carbine class, and some deltamarinesealscoutairboneeodranger larping with a few other autists later, I’m not mad.

They work good, they are mad cheap, and hold up well.

OPs look more comfortable, definitely more adjustable, and are almost certainly easier to adjust, but just wanted to throw out my two cents.

I've got a couple things on my list this fine Friday.

  • First, A million thanks to I922sParCir for driving 1000 CCI Small Pistol Primers all the way from Arizona to Southern California so I wouldn't have to pay for the HazMat fee.

  • Also, I bought 1LB of powder from I922sParCir's stockpile to get me started in reloading .357 magnum.

  • Amazon will be delivering my Adventure First Aid 2.0 kit today.

  • Amazon delivered yesterday 100ft of paracord and 2 sets of Rifle sling swivel sets for a couple of my rifles. I'm getting ready for an appleseed shoot that my son and I will be attending.

Buy something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BNLQQBQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002IOANI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And follow this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vqOzfSex94

You will not regret having sling studs on your rifle. I installed 3 studs on each of my carbines, forend left (sling), forend bottom (bipod), buttstock top left (sling). The tri-lock sling swivels are easy enough to take off for hasty sling. The slings I bought came with a clip on the buttstock end, but it was much too loud for hunting.

Even without the Memorial Day sale, they're still cheaper shipped than Amazon w/ Prime: https://www.amazon.com/Tactics-VTAC-UPGRADED-Version-VTAC-MK2-BK-UG/dp/B006LU4KFO

On a slightly unrelated note: I imagine you're going to want a good sling to throw your rifle on your back when you change to your pistol or just between games and I wanted to suggest the Butler Creek Easy Riding Sling. I picked up this sling for 10 bucks at Walmart and it works great for my VSR and M14. Just putting it out there :p

u/Greenturtle71177 · 2 pointsr/guns

I had the same issue I ended up drilling into the stock it wasnt that difficult.. We kinda had to jerry rig a vice with lots of duct tape though because we didnt have one.. but it was pretty simple. used [These] (http://www.amazon.com/Allen-Company-Swivel-1-Inch-Hardware/dp/B000VYQAZE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1376162757&sr=8-3&keywords=sling+swivel) if you dont want to use those the apple seed I went to the instructors fashioned one out of zip ties for a few people

u/MisterNoisy · 1 pointr/guns

This is my favorite budget sling. Well-made, quick-adjustment via the loop and only $24. I like the padded Viking Tactics one more, but it's usually twice the price

u/NintenJoo · 1 pointr/ar15

I got a Tacstrap for my first sling, after doing some research. (Ended up being an awful transaction due to abysmal customer service) but that's a story for another time.

It was a convertible sling that can be used as a single point and 2 point.

And messing around with it for a bit, I realized that a single point is decent for active shooting etc, but is near useless for anything else.

So I switched it to 2 point mode. It has metal hooks on it which kind of clanked around more than I wanted. A mash hook on the rear receiver end, and an HK hook on the front. I used a Magpul front sling adapter for the rail.

It worked okay as this, but in my opinion (and others) a sling should be hooked to the farthest points on the rifle. The rear of the stock and the front as far forward on the rail.

This gives you the ability to throw the rifle on your back and it being very secure with the muzzle staying pointed up and not swinging around.

I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on another sling since I had recently bought the Tacstrap, so I tried the Proctor sling. I've been really happy with it. I did remove the rear paracord and attach it directly to the CTR stock, and left the front paracord around the front of the rail.

Search "Proctor sling" on YouTube and you can see some videos.

His sling isn't anything amazing, and you can essentially make any simple tri-glide adjustable sling fit like his, but I just think the 2 point makes a lot more sense for overall versatility.

I just bought this for a budget M4 style build.
https://www.amazon.com/Best-Rifle-Slings-FAST-LOOP-GUARANTEED/dp/B00JK1XW3W

The quality is really great, and I'd say it's more robust than the Proctor sling, but I don't find it to be smoothly adjustable using a standard M4 front sling mount because it binds on the handguard.
So I ordered some plastic D-Rings (just like the Proctor sling) and am hoping that solves my problem. They'll come tomorrow and I'll attach the front using paracord.

It looks to be this shell holder and this sling

u/BigBertha249 · 0 pointsr/airsoft

Not OP, but it looks like it could be this sling

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JA9E5RU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_NhhdAb0HG99HK

I bought one and I like it, the hooks are plastic except for the middle piece which is metal, but that hasn't been a problem. They have a pin that let's you lock or unlock the clips. It's a good sling for the price of just 10 bucks. Also the hooks are ALMOST too big to let me attach it to my gun, so fair warning in that regard.
