This is something very near and dear to my heart as both I and my oldest nephew have food allergies. There are tons of fun, non-food items you can hand out to trick or treaters that they will love. My favorite to hand out has been play-do. Other good ones are those Mardi Gras necklaces, stickers, or stamp rings. Please consider at least adding a few different non-food items to your normal candy giving.
...Btw, if you are looking for cool teal pumpkins and don't want to paint one yourself, Amazon has a lot of neat ones to put out. I'm told Target sometimes has them as well.
Plastic eggs. Theyâre hollow, and open up so you can put goodies inside and close it back up. Like these!
I think grandma chose to put money instead of candy so she could hide them the day before, and not have to worry about candy melting.
This is the tool. I got it from Amazon here.

And yes, I've got a whole tool box worth of items to help me fold, spindle, and mutilate and this tiny tool under 5 bucks is my most used tool as well.
Tried to get creative here since it's weirdly difficult to find a squishy or low-resistance Pilates ring...
Squishy donut toy
Flexible dog toy ring
Similar ring, purple
Another dog toy ring
Maybe an inflatable ring?
Frisbee ring?
Two thoughts. Get as many full size candy bars as you want. It is not like they are gonna go bad sitting around not getting ate. Purchase ones you like and they wont get wasted.
Other thought is to not waste full size candy bars on folks in your parents hood, Save them for your neghborhood and when you want goodwill with all the neghborhood kids.
Go get a bunch of whistles or kazoos and secretly toss those in the kids bags with whatever you decide to go with. Other peoles kids with whistles or a kazoo all jacked on sugar........cant go wrong. Wife had a buch one year left over from sherrifs dept thing and we gave them out with other stuff. March the next year I would still hear a random whistle in the hood. I had a lot less trick or treaters the next year.

Definitely a nose for a foam glider, the hole in the tip covered by the rubber bit is for a small peg that holds a propeller on some models as seen in the bottom photo here
Oh, you could order some vending machine capsules off eBay or amazon! The 1â ones are approximately the same size as a bouncy ball, so both can fit in the same machine! Plus, you wouldnât have to cut them in half!
