I wouldn't even buy one. That flat spot between the turn signals/tail lights, is perfect for mounting a universal plate holder. Just cut and trim the plastic up to and around that. Then bolt a plate holder onto that like this one. And done.

Here are a couple of drop in replacements with a bigger capacity at half the weight and a better charge/discharge efficiency. And their lifespan is around 10x times longer than your lead acid.

It's just a couple of switches conveniently mounted on the handlebars, no controller or anything. I have a similar one on my bike. https://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Handlebar-Controll-Switches-Handle/dp/B07LG34XX2/ref=sr_1_44?keywords=handlebar+switch&qid=1557767503&s=gateway&sr=8-44

I don't really know how shipping to you works, but you could have a seat that doesn't cook your balls, and has padding, a headlight, and controls for under a Benjamin.

Oh, and hook up your damn front brake.

If you post tire size, I could probably send you links to something that could deal with sand Too.

You could have the poor backwoods version of the Marines KLR.

Good luck! I purchased this one and it was a direct fit for my 2002. Seems well made so far with voltage output stable around 14v. Will be going mosfet route next time if this doesn’t last.

My 0.02:

Just buy a good quality AGM battery. Even though Amazon says that one doesn't fit your bike, yuasabatteries.com says that it does (YTZ7S HONDA CBR1000RR /2008 - 2017, 1000cc). Also partzilla.com says it's a YTZ7S.

Lithium Iron Phosphate are great for low weight and small size. That's about the only good things about them in my opinion. They cost more, and they are finicky about charging, plus they don't put out much current when it's cold out, until the battery warms up.

But make sure you check the fitment for yourself, I'm not responsible if the Amazon link gets you to another battery that doesn't fit.

I got one on Amazon for around $40.

Worst part was getting the wiring stuffed into the bucket. It's been working fine.

u/MV203 · 2 pointsr/Kawasaki

Sure thing! Below is all you need (minus soldering iron if you go that route, but I got one for 17 bucks from Home Depot).

BEWARE - will require soldering the little harness you need to make to plug adapter into the bikes harness (unless you can find some bullet connectors that crimp instead of solder). The soldering was easy compared to getting the knock-out panel off without taking the fairings off lol There’s a little screw that keeps it on and it’s a bitch to reach!

Amazon has 'em

And for the Li-Ion battery (easier to leave without constant charging + weight savings): also on Amazon

I installed these last week. Bright from every angle and pretty plug and play.

Welp, hop to it! I would have been super screwed if I didn’t have a menagerie of machines to borrow from. Hundred bucks..

Amazon also has a Deka 18L group that should be fine too. Deka was original maker of my battery.

I just did this... again! So here's what I'm thinking of doing to out smart
myself. Replace regular bulbs with LED bulbs because they use much less power, or
remove the bulbs permanently and use a 12v plug-in map light and keep it in the glove box.
(Amazon search term; 12 volt car map light)

It’s these: https://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Signal-License-Universal-Kawasaki/dp/B07VB4F8VP
But I’m using my stock LED taillight with this lens cover. People in the reviews were saying they had issues so I 3D designed an adapter and boom, hot ice, it’s the best of both worlds.

It's a voltage regulator / rectifier for motorcycles.

Custom Dynamics has amazing plug-and-play LED lights...super bright and noticable, and the halo effect looks cool. I did both the front blinkers and the rear tail/brake lights on my '18 Fat Boy. The kit I got WILL work for yours, too.

NOTE: Everyone says to just hook up to the water spigot on the house. If there is too much waster pressure you will blow out the trailers plumbing. Get a water pressure regulator like one of these and save your plumbing in the trailer, especially an older one.

I got this battery for my 2010 Bonneville and it has been great so far. Not too expensive and good quality. It's not Li though.

u/EngieKev · 1 pointr/cars

Just get an AGM battery that works for your terminals, don't need really high CCA unless you're in cold weather. Batteries plus sells them, or Napa, just get an extreme or powersports battery, don't need Odyssey or hawk expensive stuff

Deka Etx14 or etx18 works. Get terminal adapters for it, then make a battery tray. Should be under $100

https://www.amazon.com/Deka-Sports-Power-ETX18L-Battery/dp/B002ZEYTR4

Have to keep them topped off, but they can recover from low charge well

Lithium isn't worth it yet, put that money towards lighter wheels that will actually make a difference in handling

u/srgtbear · 1 pointr/Fixxit

For starters your terminology is wrong. A honda shadow does not use clutch fluid. A master cylinder has nothing to do with the clutch.

1.) Clutch Issue - your bike uses a wet clutch, meaning the clutch plates are soaked in the same oil as your engine. The "engine oil" is what you should need to change. I recommend using Shella Rotella T. You can buy it at WalMart and it's rated for wet clutch bikes, don't get the synthetic version. Your master cylinder is for your front brake. Use DOT 4 or 5 fluid, check manual. If your unable to bleed the system and get all the air out then you may very well need to rebuild it.

2.) Ignition, starter won't crank without engine running, this means your battery was shot. Had no juice or CCA (Cold Crank Amps). I would avoid jumping the solenoid. Just ebay a new/used one.

3.) Horn - Mount it anywhere secure. Not sure if you noticed but you'll need to get the harness for that horn (https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Plug-n-Play-Wiring-Harness-Motorcycle/dp/B0028ZKMM6/ref=pd_bxgy_263_img_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=AEDYQ957XTTS0TBNDYMD)

you need a relay. I used this wiring kit to install mine. super simple and totally worth the 20 bucks.

u/Deadly_Mindbeam · 1 pointr/explainlikeimfive

You can buy devices which shut off the battery when the voltage gets too low. Push a button to reset the breaker and your car will start right up.
