Looks like a clear version of these bead things for kids: https://smile.amazon.com/Rainbow-Growing-Tactile-Sensory-Decoration/dp/B071W18C3X?sa-no-redirect=1

These things are fucking fun btw, bought them for watering plants but they're great to play with too.

Seriously tho I would return this crap. False advertising and they probably don’t last as long as crayola brand. Yes might spend an extra $ on it but I’ll get my money’s worth!

For the first Mother's Day, I hand-made a picture with my 7 month old daughter's help.

Materials Needed: A few sheets of different colored size A3 paper. Crayola Washable Kid's Paint, a small paint brush, scissors, and some crayons. A picture frame is optional(Ikea Frame).

Directions: There are 2 steps in creating it. Step one is doing the whole left side by yourself and making sure it is dry in time. Then on Mother's Day present the unfinished artwork to the mother. Step 2 involves working with the mother to create the whole right side. Biggest hand goes first, and then smaller and smaller. Add some extra flair to it and win Father of the Year!

I hope this art inspires you Dads to make something great for Mother's Day.

If she's good, in a few months she'll get an upgrade

u/HashSlinging_Flasher · 13 pointsr/DnD

Hey, you should try making these on shrinky dinks! I was about to do this for my party actually! Basically you draw/print whatever you want on this special paper, cut it out and put it in the oven.... and it shrinks and turns into this thick hard acrylic material!

There are magic markers that only work on certain coloring books, they dont color anything else. Like this

You can also get paint-with-water books like this

Oh, and doodle pads like this

u/aboutthednm · 10 pointsr/oddlysatisfying

Copying Medeco high security keys of course.
Just in case anyone thinks this is sarcasm. These will do.

I would suggest the following device for stupid users.

Note, I understand its not stupid proof(nothing is), but it is stupid resistant.

If you want to get clothes, go for 3T. If it's too big, at least he can wear it later; if it's too small, that's worse.

For those who might not know:

Shrinkydinks was a popular children's toy in the 1970s and early 80s. Plastic sheets can be drawn on with colored pencils, pens, markers, cut out and baked in an oven. They shrink by about 50% and thicken, forming a heavy plastic. By drawing on them beforehand, the coloring gets more dense and vibrant, and the "blank" areas of the plastic become white. It's very durable once it shrinks.

If you can find an advent calendar with pockets which are about one inch wide and tall, these tiny eraser toys were a hit last year with my kids (the links take you to amazon.com)

tiny animals

tiny food

And here is an amazon link to advent calendars with pockets

I have used the same cloth advent calendar with velcro figures for at least ten years or more with my kids, and over the years I have put Legos in the pockets and various chocolates, but I think they liked the little erasers the best. They are EXCELLENT quality. You can take them apart and put them back together. If you search on "tiny toys" on amazon, you will probably find other ideas as well.

[This] (https://www.amazon.com/Kahootz-EVSKAHOO01300-1160-Fashion-Plates-Deluxe/dp/B00IZN74H6) was my favorite toy when I was little. Saw it the other day at Target and wanted to buy it. :)

u/LastGlass1971 · 3 pointsr/CPTSD

Thank you for the tip! I might just have to buy a set of Fashion Plates, which I adored as a kid.

u/sponge_welder · 3 pointsr/oddlysatisfying

Here's 10 sheets for less than $10

Also, you can just buy clear polystyrene sheets, but I don't know what thickness would work best

u/canibuyatrowel · 3 pointsr/nostalgia

I saw them at Target tonight! I'm sure a little different, but the concept was still very much the same. In the arts and crafts section.

Edit: here on Amazon - apparently, according to the reviewers, they didn't change much! Fashion Plates Deluxe Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IZN74H6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_8IIlzbVREKZCE

Maxi-Cure and then Insta-set. Dab glue with the end of a toothpick, place ear to ear-hole with tweezers/pliers/etc, ask friend to spray glue on or somehow do it yourself (I've done it myself by just laying the model on its side).

Oh man, you are the best for holding this contest! I am a SAHM and I need some new crafty/activity stuff to help keep the kids entertained! This modeling clay would be awesome! It's fun and promotes: creativity, hand-eye coordination, color recognition, etc....

I have 2 kids in the proper age range for this stuff and it would just make their day!

I just bought three 30 packs from
Amazon for $22 (usd).

u/rogainethebarbarian · 2 pointsr/forbiddensnacks
u/DukesOfTatooine · 2 pointsr/MDMA

So we've done it twice. Both times I ordered two packs of these on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XZNMMKC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_NkLJDb561E21T

It was the perfect amount and they stay in good shape the whole night. Water temp does not seem to matter at all. I would suggest getting a strainer cover if you have open drains though. And put a huge stack of towels on the counter, you'll want to get in and out a lot.

We've experimented quite a bit with lights, but for my money the best arrangement is blacklights and glow sticks. Everything else ends up feeling harsh to me. Definitely change out your bathroom light bulbs for blacklight coil bulbs if you try the water bead thing!

u/salvagestuff · 2 pointsr/Teachers

I would give a portion as just cash so that she can make decisions on what to get throughout the school year. Situations do change and require a corresponding expense.

Amazon has lots of classroom packs of stuff. A classroom box of markers perhaps. https://www.amazon.com/Crayola-Classpack-Assortment-Educational-All-Purpose/dp/B0002T3WLS

I can tell you that teacher needs will always vary from person to person. Classroom setups are different, what the school provides will be different, the socioeconomic situations of the students will be different. Maybe a shopping spree type of thing where you agree to buy a certain amount of stuff but leave the selection up to her.

u/effervescenthoopla · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Oh my GOSH this is so fuuuun, I wish I had kids to make baskets for, I love this stuff! So here are my go-tos:

  1. Play dough, or crayola air clay. Why BUY dinosaurs when you can MAKE YOUR OWN dinosaurs?

  2. Bubbles, but these are bubble guns that light up. Cheap, comes with 2! ALWAYS put bubbles in baskets. Bubbles are 100% fun 100% of the time!

  3. This POkemon sticker set has 10 sheets, which you can split into 5 sheets for each kiddo. Fair is fair!

  4. Check out this dinosaur excavation kit! It's a steal for 5 bucks.

  5. These Mario blocks filled with chocolate coins are super cool!

  6. Educational science kits for backyards are a great way to keep kiddos smart and occupied.

  7. Let's be honest, this would be adorable and hilarious for the 6 year old kiddo!

  8. This dinosaur book is adorable, too

  9. Kites are universally fun, video games or not!

  10. Styluses are easy to lose. The older kiddo could probably use some fun Pokemon ones before the inevitable.

I have TONS more ideas, let me know if you need more! ^u^

I think it is time for the Pointy Haired Boss Special Tablet!

u/protectedneck · 2 pointsr/DnD

The kind of mini changes what you should use to fix it.

In general though I recommend super glue. Bob Smith Extra Thick is my go-to brand. It doesn't run, it dries fast enough that you don't have to hold it for long, but not so fast that you have no time to reposition or clean any excess.

Things I use teacher money for:
Post-It Easel Pads

Flip Chart Paper Also comes in 1-inch grid

Flip chart easels to use with the pads so you can use them anywhere in the room

Thin markers and thick ones

Construction paper

Colored printer paper (i.e. astrobrights)

write and wipe pockets

Organization - file folders, hanging folders, and mobile drawer units

Scissors, pens, rulers

A scanner
Flash drives

Classroom laminator and associated supplies

Paper trimmer

Misc project supplies or manipulatives

A large world map and a map of the US

I'm sure there's more but I'm pretty sure I already spent all of your money :)

u/canadiain · 1 pointr/theydidthemath

Assuming he ordered all of the orbeez off of Amazon here, each pack of 50,000 is 10 dollars (without shipping and handling).

100,000,000 orbeez divided by 50,000 per pack is 2000 packs of orbeez.

2000 x 10 means that the base price for all the orbeez is 20,000 dollars.

When my youngest was 2-5, her favorite activity in the universe was finger painting.

So you start with some art smocks, add a plastic tablecloth, and finally, washable finger paints.

This can be done inside or outside and really is fairly easy to clean up. I would swear kids love it because it's like being given permission to be dirty and messy.

u/Bugabooty · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

We do outdoor toys for Easter! I think I'm just putting together one big basket for both boys(3yo and 11mo). I know I'm doing a bubble machine, chalk, a magnifying glass for looking at outdoor stuff, play doh, bug book To go with the magnifying glass.

) is the best clay my twin girls can play with - it doesn't grind into carpets easily, it can air-dry, it won't crumble like moon dough, and it won't dry into spiky nuggets that hurt when you step on them. :)

It's also good for stress relieving for us grown-ups too, as it has a nice consistency when you knead it in your hands - not sticky or mushy like regular clay.

My sister is 7 and pretty into learning so I got her things to try and keep that spirit alive. I bought her this telescope and a childrens book about celestial bodies. I also bought this for a girl about Isla's age for Christmas. I got to play with it in the store and it feels pretty awesome and never dries up.

Edit: Adela might be interested in the other things I got for my sister which were a Crayola crayon/marker maker, Bill Nye science books and this DohVinci thing

u/RumpleAndBelle · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

My daughters love These because you can design it how ever they want, they also have a MLP one or you can buy other themes.

This would be pretty cool for Adela.

I bet Isla would love playing with this

Creepy. At least when I sneakily leave weird gifts for other people, I make sure I bought enough for everyone! Dispersed weirdness seems less weird... and who doesn't love a bit of non sequitur adorableness?

Your guy doesn't understand boundaries and doesn't understand what it is like to live in a world without the privilege he enjoys. Shut him down firmly.

Also, what did you get? A box full of hamsters?!

u/chopperdave48 · 0 pointsr/ipad

That's awesome! I do feel obligated to say that you could probably do the same thing on a device that costs 15$, though.
