This one here, in gray.

u/Intrepid_Strawberry · 5 pointsr/mazda

I bought this one a few months ago for my '18 Mazda3. I've heard that people only have trouble with the '19s.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MY8MG7V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Just put it in and you'll have navigation. Drive around the block so it attaches to your VIN, then install the Mazda navigation software on your computer to create an account and update the maps. You should get three years of updates for free.

But yes, it will just work if you put the card in - although it's always best to have the most recent maps.

u/Zak · 4 pointsr/flashlight

You could get a flashlight with a 1/4" camera tripod mount in it, a diffuser, and a 1/4" suction cup mount like this cheap one. Here are 71 possible options with a tripod mount of some sort and immersion waterproofing rating. 16 of them are some sort of warm or neutral white, but if you're decent at soldering, any of them could become whatever color temperature you want (a high color rendering index might also be nice for the application).

u/Mushu_Pork · 4 pointsr/cycling

So, what do we know about your dad from looking at his bike.
He rides a custom titanium frame, and has ROL wheels (he had to do research and order direct to get those). He has a power meter and garmin already. He uses Campy. Cinelli bar tape. Your dad has style and isn't a cycling noob. All his component choices are very personal.

I'd recommend getting him a gift card to his favorite bike shop. For small stuff you can get at Amazon, maybe a better garmin mount http://www.amazon.com/K-Edge-Handlebar-Computer-Mount-Garmin/dp/B00DR7CDPS

Garmin wireless speed sensor (he already gets cadence from his power meter), this way he can eliminate the gaudy garmin meter attached to his chain stay

http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-010-12103-00-Bike-Speed-Sensor/dp/B00JLMS848/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1450706234&sr=8-1&keywords=garmin+speed+sensor

u/loki_racer · 3 pointsr/bicycling412

I don't commute on my bike. I do however ride with a GoPro 100% of the time. I use the K-Edge mount since I run a Garmin, I doubled up the GoPro and Garmin into a single mount.

The negatives of the GoPro being mounted to the bars is that when I look around, the camera doesn't record what I'm looking at.

After having been in a motorcycle vs car accident where the car driver got off without even a warning, I always run a camera.

u/MagneticGray · 3 pointsr/fordfusion

CarBridge is a tweak for jailbroken iPhones. It lets you run nearly any app over CarPlay. It also lets you adjust the number of icons on the CarPlay home screen. I just got it up and running tonight so I’m still playing around with it. I wasn’t able to get PS4 Remote Play working but Splashtop works perfectly so I can access my desktop PC from my car stereo, which is awesome. I'm totally going to Photoshop something using Sync 3 haha. YouTube was my primary reason for installing CarBridge but the Xfinity app and VLC also work great. Looking forward to being able to watch live TV and even recordings from my DVR while I’m stuck in traffic.

A few others I tried are weather radar, iMessages that let you actually see the messages, the camera app, and an OBDII app that communicates with my ELM327 Wi-Fi OBDII reader. Now that I know it works I’m going to choose an app that shows gauges (those all cost money) so I can see stuff like oil pressure, boost, voltage, etc. when I’m running the car hard. Oh, and of course, Apollo for Reddit works as it should.

All the apps perform quickly and the image actually looks pretty crisp and detailed in person. These pics aren't doing it justice (had to use my iPad) but I was really impressed by how sharp it was when I used 720 or 1080 resolution in YouTube. I also highly recommend this glass screen protector to improve the look and feel of the screen. It’s like a night and day difference vs the fingerprint magnet plastic factory touchscreen. Much less glare too.

The one downside I noticed is that Sync 3 doesn't support multi-touch but overall I’m really happy with the results. Well worth the $4.99 for CarBridge. Let me know if you can think of any other apps that would be fun to try.

Not sure about the cheapest, but here are the basic components you need.

GSM module

SIM card

GPS module

u/Peter1Gibbons · 3 pointsr/motorcycles

I use this tank bag because I just don't trust those mounts. Highly recommend this one, super low profile, fits well and doesn't move.

u/screwball2 · 3 pointsr/AndroidAuto

I bought this one Works and looks great.

u/ClassicUncleJessie · 3 pointsr/ps2

I wanted a ninja install of 2 Brook Super Converters, and a memory card with FMCB on it. One converter in, and the MC. Both work swimmingly, and hide right inside, affixed to the inside-top of the shell.

I'm going to prep and install the second converter tomorrow, as well as scope out a way to extend the USB ports to the side or back of the console-- for controller pairing and charging purposes. I'm thinking about repurposing this extension.

EDIT: Well crap, now I'm thinking I might be able to tap into the data +/- signals on the front USB ports, while leaving them intact for regular usage as well.

u/provoaggie · 2 pointsr/Nexus5

Windshield mounts typically need a flat, smooth surface to attach to which a dashboard typically isn't. To remedy this, you can buy mount disks that stick to your dashboard and provide a surface to mount to. I bought these ones:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001763SRI/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and they've been great.

u/thedarkavengerx · 2 pointsr/mazda

Here is a link that you can get it for $99 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MY8MG7V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_mnGZCbD1SHGFZ

But I would not get the navigation and would install CarPlay/Android Auto instead.

u/cstheory · 2 pointsr/bikecommuting

A combo Garmin/GoPro mount. This cuts way down on accessory rattling and made videos smoother, too. For folks who don't use Garmins, the quarter turn mount is also usable with special phone cases. For folks who don't use GoPros, the GoPro mount works for many other cameras and bike lights.

Edit: link formatting

u/jim0266 · 2 pointsr/teslamotors

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MDW9RJM/

Would not be surprised if this and the AO are the same item.

u/Pyroraptor · 2 pointsr/TeslaModel3

Really, the only thing I recommend you have on hand at the delivery is the screen protector. I bought this one and have been happy with it.

You probably also want to have some sort of USB storage device for your dashcam/sentry mode. This could be a USB thumbdrive, SSD, Harddrive, or SD card (with adapter). As long as it has a decent amount of memory and a decent read/write speed and is USB. You'll need to format it FAT32 for the car to recognize it.

As for other accessories, most people on here choose to wrap their center consoles. It comes with a piano black finish which looks really nice but scratches and shows fingerprints really easily. I suggest the Kenriko center console wraps. They have tons of colors/finishes from matte black to white, to carbon fiber.

After that it is up to you. There are TONs of products that you can use to modify your Model 3. Personal favorites of mine so far are the extra door seals that keep out dirt and slightly reduce wind noise. The aluminum pedals are a really nice touch if you don't have a performance model. All-weather floor mats are really nice. I have the 3D MaxSpider ones but I've heard really good things about the Tuxmats. The wireless chargers for your phone are a good accessory as well.

u/Mysterious_X · 2 pointsr/nexus4

I would look into a vent mount for your phone. This is the one I have that works very well, but there are plenty of others.

u/skubiszm · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I came here to suggest this. I only use the ProClip base to securely mount it to my dash. Then I got a basic ball mount and I used my old magnet mount.

It is very sturdy. No more suction cups falling off the windshield.

u/SasquatchFiesta · 2 pointsr/Axon7

Yeah, the 4 points of contact are rubber boots. I took the case off and popped the phone in. It held very solidly. There is reviews on youtube to see the mounting in action. They have other mounts, ways to attach it, can buy each part seperate http://www.rammount.com/

I justified the price w/

  • lifetime warranty
  • Made in USA
  • I won't have this same phone forever and this will fit phones I think I'll have in the future.
  • It was buying into an ecosystem I'll use Ram 1" ball mounts for action cams, and other stuff.

While the mount is universal and fits the axon 7 great. Any phone smaller would not fit the one linked. You would need the size down, which might fit the axon? but idk if its too small havent used it.

So yes, no case, no problem. It actually seemed like it held onto the phone better without the case.

It is suction cup mount, so if you're looking for vent mount they don't have one. I'm starting to sound like a corporate whore, so I'll stop here, just like the mount :)

Edit: It's worth noting This piece came with the mount and is too small for the phone, On a motorcycle I'd use it/want it. But road bike, mountain biking, and in the car, no issues, phone stays planted in the mount w/o falling out. The rubber does fit with aaallot of stretching and strength.

Edit2: and i had this mount before i bought the ram mount, my case was too thick for the magnet to catch the plate right and would fall off after a small bump. But if you don't use a case and dont mind a thin metal plate on the back of the phone, it should be more than strong enough. alot of other magnetic car mounts, plates and magnets don't seem to vary much across brands, but the Niteize someone else linked looked like a neat solution, can't speak for it, never used it.
u/SpiteAmbulance · 2 pointsr/Garmin

Here's what I got, I used the case, loved it hardcore, bought glass but didn't get a chance to put on, 6x arrived by then.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VLNXP4T/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_PeQCDb86ZQJF9

This guy adds height and width, but it's not the same kind of bulk fenix. Fenix is wide set and metal, to me it hits my wrist bone, 945 doesn't.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RZW78CG/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_OfQCDbJFJSMPR

u/MoederBeer · 2 pointsr/Garmin

I use this three pack from Amazon, can't even tell it's there, has a nice oleophobic coating and rounded edges. https://www.amazon.com/Compatible-Forerunner-Protector-Tempered-Smartwatch/dp/B07RKM9DJ9

u/boltorian · 2 pointsr/CRF250L

Thanks for the compliment! I love it in black! The white plastics always looked brown!

I only have the shift lever so far but I got a tusk, it was super cheap and has probably paid for itself already. I haven't picked up the folding brake lever since they cost significantly more and I'm trying not to spend much more on the bike right now. Having said that, I've bent my brake lever many times already and it's going to have to be changed eventually. I'll likely just buy the folding brake lever from crf's only when I decide to spend the money.

The tank bag is:

https://www.amazon.com/Nelson-Rigg-CL-GPS-ST-Journey-Mate/dp/B00T6J8SV4/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1473199337&sr=1-1&keywords=Nelson+Rigg+CL-GPS-ST+Journey+Mate%2C1+Pack

The only negative with this bag is that it sits where the rider ought to be sitting while riding in the dirt. You'll have your crotch all over it if you're doing it right.

The other mod I added recently was a rear rack and rotopax combo kit from CRF's Only:

http://www.crfsonly.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/5586%7B444%7D2658%7B434%7D2538

It's really good if you're interested in nearly doubling your range.

FYI, make sure to check the reviews. There is a slight difference in the 945 and 935 glass/bezel size. The 945 is a bit smaller. Many of those tempered glass sellers just repackaged the 935 product and people are having problems with them not adhering properly and falling off because of the size difference. It is why I have not purchased one yet.

u/SgtGears · 1 pointr/FiestaST

I've got two preferred options I've used before in other cars, but not the Fiesta so far.

Something like this is a nice and easy mount. You can get one that grips onto a climate vent instead if that works better for you. They're easy and cheap and not as bulky.

Second option for larger holders that use a suction cup mount, buy one of these discs to create a flat surface to stick to that isn't hanging off the window and blocking your view. You could put that just to the left of your steering wheel, above the climate vent. I prefer this for Satnavs etc.

u/Stray_Neutrino · 1 pointr/bicycling

Guilty - I picked up one after my plastic Zipp one broke. Will probably last a long time barring theft / accident.

u/blodorn · 1 pointr/openbsd

It is this device
I do not currently know how to receive the NMEA data on OCM3 not COM2 though. I don't have a datasheet for it though, but I have connected it to a raspberry pi running Linux with the NMEA data through the RXD pin and the PPS though a GPIO pin. For that, the NMEA works no problem and the uart is enabled in the preboot and then the kernel loads pps_core and pps_gpio

I currently have the 245 but did have the instinct for a week before I returned it. The Instinct definitely is going more durable. However, I’m pretty comfortable with how my 245 has stood up. I’ve bumped and banged it on doors and corners, not very hard, but still enough to make me cringe. So far it’s held up without any marks. I haven’t dropped it yet, but I’d expect it to be just fine dropped from waist to chest high on wood or tile. It might scratch, but I don’t think it would break from an average drop.

I would strongly recommend putting a screen protector on the 245 if you go that route. The screen should be durable on its own, but the protector will just you extra protection. I got my protector from Amazon, and you can’t even tell I have a screen protector on.

Link here in case you might need it.

Edit: it’s late and I messed up the link formatting

u/The_Cutest_Retard · 1 pointr/scion

It's a univeral, grabbed it from Fry's for 20$. Found it on Amazon for 13$ for you http://www.amazon.com/Bracketron-PHV-202-BL-Grip-iT-Mobile-Device/dp/B001B2PPYC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407458543&sr=8-1&keywords=universal+vent+mount

NOTE:Super glue that mount to the clip when you get it, nothing more frustrating than hitting a bump on your way somewhere and your phone crashing to the floor.

u/jhawkins002 · 1 pointr/XVcrosstrek

I didnt even know these existed! Thanks for the share :D

So if you are interested in throwing money at the problem, so to speak, here's something that might be helpful - https://www.amazon.com/URWOOW-USB3-0-Square-Flush-Mount/dp/B07J4WWHB1/. I've used them in a number of previous projects and they are a breeze to install when you have to re-locate ports to another dash/console location.

Come to think of it... I'm not a huge fan of the ports being located in the center console anyway. I might use this as an excuse to move them up to the front-console cubby area lol.

u/PSYKO_Inc · 1 pointr/amateurradio

Since it's pretty light, take a look at this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001B2PPYC I originally bought it to use with a radio but it's not quite strong enough for me, but works great for holding a phone or gps, so it might work well for you.

u/EncomCEO · 1 pointr/CX5

I went with this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073VPDC2W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Already cut to fit, and it's tempered glass. I don't have an issue with glare, but YMMV.

u/shinsmax12 · 1 pointr/CX5

I don't know about your screen, but I bought this for my car as a protective measure. It's a little too reflective sometimes, but a lot easier to clean, and no issues with touch screen functionality.

LFOTPP Mazda CX-5 2017 2018 7... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073VPDC2W?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I'd go with this one: http://www.amazon.com/K-EDGE-Computer-Mount-Garmin-Edge/dp/B00DR7CDPS/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1375205948&sr=1-1&keywords=k-edge+mount

Metal, but with a plastic connection plate. Strava's is all plastic. (Plus it's orange, while the above one is available in three different colors.)

u/CaptureYourAction · 1 pointr/Dashcam

You could stick this to the windshield in the dotted area, then still use the suction mount. They sell different diameters. Get one with the red 3m backing.

u/Tim-the-Tool-Man · 1 pointr/Dashcam

its funny how many people don't know how to put up a suction cup correctly. If you wet a suction cup before you put it up it stays. Every so often you pop it off, dab a little water on there and you are good to go. Never had an issue with mine. You can buy a roll of gorilla tape for $6 or $7 or a universal suction cup mount for $10 and not have to worry. I ordered this one can it comes with different connectors so it will fit:
https://www.amazon.com/iSportgo-Suction-Different-Recorder-Cameras/dp/B06ZZW2Q77/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1504229476&sr=8-7

u/Kadin2048 · 1 pointr/juul

I've flown with Juuls and some generic 510-style pens and haven't really done anything special. Taking the cartridge/pods out is supposed to help keep them from leaking—I don't think the airline or TSA cares. I keep my stuff in one of these in my laptop bag usually.

The big no-no is putting anything with a lithium battery in baggage, because of fires.

u/camerajack21 · 1 pointr/Justrolledintotheshop

You guys know these are a thing right? You peel of the backing, it somewhere convenient, and then you and stick your phone mount or whatever right to it. They're pretty cool and don't look too out of place if you've not got something suckered to it.

u/Mackin-N-Cheese · 1 pointr/whatisthisthing

Does the red stuff peel off completely? Looks like a mounting disc for a smartphone or GPS holder.

One comes with the Garmin Nüvifone G60, for example.

u/italianjoe69 · 1 pointr/Harley

I have the X-Grip and tether I can sell you!! I decided not to use it because my S7 would not sit correctly without the side buttons being pushed.

I used it for a day and then removed it.

PM me if interested. It is the X-Grip and a tether similar to this only. NO MOUNT OR STEM INCLUDED.

u/thelynched · 1 pointr/arduino

I got a proclip mount, added a plate with a mounting ball to it then attached a wireless charger phone mount to the ball. I did have to drill out the holes in the proclip in order to attach the mounting ball and I do sometimes bump into it when I shift into reverse (6 speed).

u/dmazzoni · 0 pointsr/AskComputerScience

The easiest would probably be using GPS. It's just distance / time. Just get something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Gowoops-Ceramic-Passive-Antenna-Raspberry/dp/B01AW5QYES/ref=br_lf_m_t23j7ut62m6vspk_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&s=pc

It should be easy to find instructions online on how to get the current location from many programming languages.
