(Part 3) Best pistol cases according to redditors

You can put a locked, hard sided pistol case inside your checked baggage, you just have to declare it at the ticket counter just like you would with any other firearm you're flying get with. i don't imagine it would matter if it's a pistol or a receiver inside the case.

Edit: I used this one for my glock, with 2 padlocks on it, inside my checked duffel bag and had no problems

That is the original AAC logo. I don't think any suppressor manufacturer makes their own pouches. They buy them from a 3rd party and have them branded with their own logos. That said, I always liked the AAC, Griffin, SilencerCo ones as well as our in-house brand. We use the same mfg as Griffin.

The Gemtech 5 suppressor pouch is pretty cool too, though I wish they had put PALS webbing or at least some kind of straps on the back. They are good for just throwing in a bag or whatever. The Q ones, made by Blue Force Gear IIRC, are really nice too but they are kind of form fitted for those particular suppressors, where most others are slightly more universal with an adjustment strap etc.

I personally have one of these for my rimfire suppressors. The silencers fit where the magazines are supposed to go. It's kind of nice because I can keep all my rimfire tools, a couple small .22 LR pistols and some ammo in there as well. I know it's UTG, but it it's cheap, works well and you don't have to worry about high temps with rimfire anyway.

This is the one that I have. Pelican is the general go-to that is recommended by many. It has served me well.

I use a soft pistol case for carrying hilts in my backpack. Gives them scratch protection and extra padding, put them in my carry on for airplanes and other travel with no problems. If you dont want to buy something fancy, tube socks do the job of some padding and scratch protection.

something like this. doesn't look gun shaped, doesn't say SMITH AND WESSON or any identifiable gun branding on it, looks like a boring ass day planner that nobody wants to steal. basically any of these $10 book shaped zip up cases will work fine.

walmart used to sell this case under the winchester brand. cheap, doesn't look like a hard plastic case that would have a gun in it, actually has magazine pockets unlike hard plastic cases. get something like that.

Anything that essentially can't be easily ripped open or apart and is locked in some way counts under California law. A backpack or duffel bag with a small padlock though the zipper pulls will do just fine.

If you're looking for a pistol case there are lots of options. LA Police Gear sells a nice cheap pistol case for about $10. Maxpedition has some decent cases too, as well as some that are better for more discrete transportation.

Depends. I’ve got a 4 handgun hardcase that’s a bit bulky but quite practical. Normally take three pistols and a revolver, 4 mags per pistol plus one in the gun works great.

I bought this case myself, although I did get the CZ case with the gun. I found the CZ case too small to fit the trigger lock.

The case I have is this one. I honestly can't recommend it, because having only a single lock in the middle lets the edges lift when you have a gun inside the case. I had a few spring loaded locking latches handy, and riveted one to each side of the case to stop this from happening (you can see one on the right side of the case). That is what the small lock in the photo are for.

Is this workable? Maybe this?

I would look at gun cases, the cases for pistols are around the size you would need and thy have foam inside them.

How's it better than this one

Yeah. I'm pretty sure I got this pelican case. I put any handgun I'm taking in one of these padded leather zip sleeves, then pack them in a pelican. Fit all but three in that one case, and it's easy to roll around. If it is a normal trip with less guns, then I can put all the ammo in there as well.
