Any square hard/soft case would do. As long as they don't have magazine pouches or easily identifiable logos/patterns, people won't know.

http://www.amazon.com/UTG-Deluxe-Covert-Homeland-Security/dp/B001WJ6P4S/ref=sr_1_8?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1367610852&sr=1-8

Or anything similar.

u/wee0x1b · 6 pointsr/guns

Well, you could grab a few of these, oil them all up really well and they'd keep for a long, long time. Wait a few years see if you still want to sell them.

At very least, I'd keep the Nylon 66 just because it's so damn fun to shoot, the Garand because of obvious reasons, and the .357 because it's practically required that you hang onto it. And that would be a very impressive old timey collection!

That said, the Winchester is pretty nice as well.

Nope, I keep coming back to "keep them all". :-)

Anyway, best of luck whatever you decide. As far as value, you can go to gunbroker.com and search for completed auctions (not current, open ones) from the last few months or year and see what they're selling for. None of those are super tactical or whatever, but you'll find someone wanting a .22 plinker for his kid, or a guy wanting a bird gun on the cheap.

Don't bother taking them to a pawn shop or a gun store. You lose like half instantly. Best is to list them somewhere for a private sale that you want to handle face-to-face, cash only. (Also check that private sales like that are legal in your state/city.)

So you post it online, buyer likes/bids, auction over, you guys email back and forth and figure on some public place to meet. The parking lot of police stations are good. Walmarts are good, too. Some guys like to draw up a bill of sale and get the buyer's ID and whatever, but that's up to you. I doubt your grandfather was out running around sticking up banks.

Do you have any relatives who want a couple shotguns?

I recommend this double carbine bag. Well made, lots of storage, good zippers.

They drop into the low $40's quite often and are a really nice and fairly discreet bag. I can just barely squeeze a 16" barrel ar and a 16" barrel 22lr into my 36" that I got on WOOT for $40 and you can carry it like a backpack.

Also, they make solid colors that aren't obnoxious.

u/Walleyevision · 5 pointsr/gundeals

Amazon has the non-branded bag.

Cute lil breakdown bag

u/curzyk · 3 pointsr/ar15

Absolutely. I picked it because it had plenty of room for a scope, and you can see it doesn't taper quite as much as traditional rifle cases. At 39", it easily fits a 36" rifle. Down side is that I couldn't find a merchant still selling it. I'm sure there are offerings very similar to it though. Edit: Some similar (check reviews and Q&A to verify fit with foregrip)

u/docfrink · 3 pointsr/canadaguns

I have two of these and think they are great!

u/skibeast1 · 3 pointsr/ar15

I have this Gun Case and I really love it, especially with the $30 price tag. It's a bit more subtle IMO that most rifle bags, and I'm able to cram all kinds of extra gear in there. The 34" bag is just large enough to fit my 16" barrel AR, with the butt stock collapsed. I can also comfortable fit 4 mags, gloves, brass catcher, various tools, cleaning supplies, and enough ammo for an hour or two at the range. Quality has been great so far as well.

It's hard to recommend something if you don't know what he needs.

Does he need pouches? If so, you can get some nice pouches in your price range. Without knowing what gun he has, though, it's hard to recommend some. Besides that, he probably doesn't need them if he's already on a team. We also don't know what colors he'd want.

Everyone needs BBs, but I wouldn't go that way for a couple reason: They aren't a fun gift, people use different weights, and have different preferred brands. It's the same with batteries.

You could get a nice red dot in that price range, but again, I don't know if he already has one or even wants one.

Here's a few gifts that I think might be nice without knowing much specfics:

A gun stand. Something like this to keep the guns organized and off the floor.

A nice gun case. I've heard Planos are good. Maybe something like this?

Patches and a patch panel. Can never have too many patches.

u/oobacon · 3 pointsr/ClayBusters

I like the beefy Americase offerings, pretty pricey so I always hunt down used ones.

If you need cheap and effective, I've had great experiences with this one: https://www.amazon.com/SKB-Break-down-Shotgun-Soft-Case/dp/B003QYGUME/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1526261354&sr=8-1&keywords=skb+gun

u/AkBlind · 2 pointsr/guns

Wow excellent addition. Hopefully you can keep this nicely oiled and in a gun sock for safe keeping. Till one day you pass this on with the rest of your collection.
Also just to let you know, the most sought-after 94's are made in 1964 or before. So you have a real gem here. Hopefully you hold onto it and treat it as such.

u/egonpax · 2 pointsr/ar15

I know it's NcStar... but this discreet carbine looks neat. I don't know if it'll last long with abuse but it's only $40. Wish it was $30. (Very similar to the Larue)

I purchased this hardshell rifle case for $35

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001MYGM5A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It fits a TR-8S, a Novation Circuit, an SP-404sx, a Kaoss Pad Quad, and a Keystep, with enough room for my eventual Neutron.

Rifle cases are the cheapest way to transport a whole table's worth of gear.

u/Usually_lurks12 · 2 pointsr/guns

He stored them in a case like this and lived near the ocean.

u/rick707 · 2 pointsr/gundeals

I have had it about a year and it has worked great. I intended to only use it temporarily but it seems to be holding up great for a budget bag I got for $30ish at a LGS when I picked up my AR

I have several 10/22's including a polymer stocked stainless barrel carbine with scope, a polymer stocked stainless barrel takedown and a classic manlicher wood stock version.
I don't notice any real poi shift when using the takedown versus the other two.
Plus the takedown can be purchased with a dedicated bag for it.
If you can't get the one with the bag, the same bag is absorbed on Amazon here:

I guess I use the UTG bootlegged verson of your pelican case. Backpack straps, velcro straps hold 2 long guns, pistol holder, 6 mag pockets and room for accessories in top pocket, and it look like a keyboard case. $64

u/ducksarewet · 2 pointsr/Shotguns

I have the same combo set but I only keep the 28" on it. I use this:
http://www.cabelas.ca/product/65171/cabelas-canada-floating-shotgun-case

because I mostly waterfowl hunt, and it floats/has an ammo pocket. Its a bit long so the nose bend if you set it down on that end, but the gun fits snug side to side and is guickly pulled out when I get to a spot.

You should never store your gun in a case like this though. THey can't breath, so moisture builds up and causes rust. I store mine in a sock like this:

http://www.amazon.ca/Allen-Company-Shotgun-Scopes-52-Inch/dp/B00014ZY0Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1457020499&sr=8-1&keywords=shotgun+sock

Does it have to be a hard case? I have a 36" double rifle soft case /w backpack straps on it, has 3 huge pockets plus MOLLE straps and some internal velcro pouches for 2 pistols. I use it for some of my real guns when I go to the range, but will probably use it for airsoft too. A lot more versatile than a hard-case IMO. Just doesn't look cool when you open it.

Shit's gonna dry out, maybe it's good if it doesn't get bumped, I'm not knowledgeable enough to know.

I do know milsurps and they always come soaked in a thick grease, I would say the modern equivalent is white lithium grease, like Tetra Gun grease... they have instructions for long term storage.

Me, I use Lucas Extreme Gun oil where oil is needed and Tetra Gun Grease everywhere else and then it goes in a rifle sock that then goes in a safe with a renewable dessicant and lastly a no rust vapor capsule. Make sure you cycle your gun every few months when you check on your lube.

u/goneskiing_42 · 2 pointsr/guns

They're about $35 on Amazon, which is where I got mine.

u/MoonBuddha · 2 pointsr/Shotguns

Just picked this SKB case up to use with my Browning O/U.

Much higher quality than I expected for $60, no regrets.

u/ZeeCatnip · 2 pointsr/guns

This one fits mine: Link

u/Shooter123456 · 2 pointsr/longrange

I have this one. I have had it about 6 months and it is pretty well built. I regularly carry 2 ARs, 2 handguns, 500 or so rounds of ammo, and it weights roughly 35 lbs. The handles and straps hold up very well. When I put my FCP-SR in it, the barrel sticks out a good bit but I can still carry it as a backpack.

I've been shopping around for a new soft case/range bag, and when I came across this NcStar Discreet Carbine Case, I remembered seeing your post. If you're interested, the NcStar product page for the case has more information. As long as you're fine with separating your upper and lower, this might work out for you.

Edit: If you need something larger, the same manufacturer also offers a discreet rifle case.

u/grendev · 1 pointr/guns

I use this breakdown case: http://amzn.com/B003QYGUME

It's cheap and fits my winchester 101 fairly well. I use a breakdown because I drive a sedan and it's much easier to get a 30" o/u in the trunk.

u/jpstoner · 1 pointr/gundeals

UTG has served me well enough.

Same model as the Ruger version, just offbrand

Note: it gets a little tight with added spaces in the stock. But mine fits with one spacer added.

I wouldn't put UTG accessories on a gun, but I've enjoyed this case, especially for the $59.97 price:

  • UTG Deluxe Covert Homeland Security Gun Case

They have other options for less as well, but this one has been good in my experience. I put targets, mags, a rear bag, and cleaning rod in the front pocket.

The Zipper pull tabs are metal, and can accept small pad locks or airline locks if your state requires the case to be locked during transport.
u/topics · 1 pointr/ar15

Softsided is lighter and more flexible for the range than plastic (e.g., Plano) hardsided.

I have Blackhawk discreet softcases and they're ok. https://www.amazon.com/BLACKHAWK-Homeland-Security-Discreet-Weapons/dp/B001E8GFG0/

I am considering this NCStar (I know - hate on the brand) but the compactness w/the AR taken down seems interesting. Look at the customer reviews and photos.

I like discrete cases, I have this one for simple range trips, if I'm bringing a pistol, multiple uppers or more then just the a single rifle, I use this one.

u/dasguy40 · 1 pointr/CAguns

I got one of these for my 3gun shotgun with a 12rd tube, that I have plugged to 10rds obviously.

u/BQJJ · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Happy birthday! How old (young?) did you turn? :D

I really need and want this bag so I can transport my airsoft rifle without worrying about someone calling the cops on me. xD I haven't gotten it because I just jumped back into the sport and haven't had the chance.

u/GloryholeKaleidscope · 1 pointr/guns

Desparado style.

u/supracraig · 1 pointr/airsoftmarket

I have one of these, interested? I'll sell for like 25 plus shipping

[I'm very interested in this Drago case](Drago Gear Double Gun Case, Grey, 36-Inch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J5Q5W8A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Fjc4xb68GC8HF).

I like it because it has backpack straps and will work in my motorcycle. I may either get that out the diamond tactical tacc-b to just as both a rifle case AND guitar case. I'd cover the patch on that one though.

u/keanwicklund28 · 1 pointr/airsoft

I recently got this double gun bag and it’s phenomenal. Fits my Krytac mkII SPR with a longer barrel and suppressor, my HPA carbine And two pistols plus mags, co2, batteries and tools. It works great and it comes in varying sizes.
It also has the option to be worn as a backpack and is surprisingly comfortable even with weight.
It also has multiple pouches and compartments. Sounds like it would be perfect for what you’re looking for

Edit: this also goes up to 55 inches.

This Plano case would do the trick, though it is not as rigid as a Pelican would be and you might need to drill some holes to add locking points on the side to get it fully secure.

u/windcr8zy · 1 pointr/boostedboards

I use this: Nc Star Double Carbine Case, Black, Large/42" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CW2U144/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_kEnbzb2NR9RWJ

I had to cut off the divider pad with scissors, but it works great! Keep in mind security for Delta is a private company hired by Delta in AMS and that I believe boards are illegal in AMS on the bike paths.

u/DFSniper · 1 pointr/guns

I paid $45 at sportsmans for a similar case.

u/Wolfs_Claw · 1 pointr/CAguns

This bag is $32 and has a loop/tab to put a luggage padlock on. It won't stop a thief but it a locked container, meaning the gun itself doesn't have to be locked, just what you're carrying it in.

u/KyserTheHun · 1 pointr/ar15

I have a Drago 36" that I like. Fits my ~32" AR just fine and has room for 2 rifles with storage pockets for a bunch other shit. Two pockets up front you could put handguns in as well.
