Yeah. IMO, buy any green bomber jacket off Amazon and apply these patches. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XDLBGGT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_N0aaCb4VQB1CA)

Would look way better and probably be better quality.

How much are you off by? if its a small amount, you could sew the button back on, and put on a button extender, similar to this.

https://www.amazon.com/5-Pack-Button-Pant-Extender-instantly/dp/B005OCRZO8

If you need to add one inch, this would work, and the belt would cover it up. If you are off by 2 or more inches, I don't think think this would be a good plan.

u/kDycu · 12 pointsr/sewing

To solve the pricking yourself with pins problem-- try sewing clips! I bought these from Amazon and I think they're great. I find pinning stuff can sometimes distort the fabric, and you can't pin some fabrics because it leaves holes. They don't totally replace pins since you can only work from the edges with these, but they are really nice regardless!

If anyone is looking for a more permanent alternative to tearing holes in your fabric pots, installing eyelets is very easy and makes a more secure hole that won't tear or fall apart.

I block on a cardboard cutting board that was designed for fabric. It's easy to pin things out, and you can measure them while you're blocking. Something kinda like this: http://www.amazon.com/Cardboard-Pattern-Sewing-Cutting-Board-36/dp/B000G6DY2Y

I just bought one of these a week or so ago. Haven't made it to the range with it yet but I have crammed it full of shit already. Case is good.

Edit: Also don't forget the most important accessory for this.

u/JZ0898 · 7 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Their "slim" cut is absolutely huge man, there's no way someone of your size is going to fit properly in it. Like check their shirt dimensions, the difference between a slim and extra slim is 2.5" in both the chest and waist. The super slim is 4.5" slimmer in the waist comparatively.

I have a vastly different build from you at 5'7" 150 lbs, so much chunkier than you, but I had to get an extra slim fit 15" neck even though my normal neck is 15.5". There are collar extenders you can use so that the neck doesn't choke you out if you do go down a size.

I've used an 'Iron Mend' kit before on my kit.

This has worked well, and 2 years later, same jacket is still going strong.

u/Gecko23 · 5 pointsr/3Dprinting

I use sewing machine oil, doesn't gum up, doesn't stink, pretty much ideal for these kinds of low load applications.

I might be mistaken, but I think my hair klippers came with plain old mineral oil, which probably would work the same, if it's not the same stuff anyways. lol

u/MF_Mood · 5 pointsr/CannabisExtracts

AFAIK yes, but the danger is that they can rip and leave little pieces in your extract if you don't notice.

I use FEP for storage. It's not safe for pressing but you can't tear it at all. They are clear like glass and reusable if you wipe them down with alcohol. They don't fold well, that's the only caveat I can think of. Here is some info from Terp Proof on FEP. They are much smarter than me and are pretty responsive via their chat function if you have questions.
I think they only sell by x1000 though so I ended up buying mine on Amazon through a company called The Press Club. Very good quality, I recommend.

u/ChefJoe98136 · 4 pointsr/Seattle

How adjustable depends on how much material was built into the thing, but your deadline of same or next day is pretty tight, especially since a tailor might still leave it in a state where it needs pressed afterwards.

You sure you can't just buy some off-the-rack pants at the men's warehouse or get a button extender if it's just 5 lbs ? https://www.amazon.com/Pant-Extender-Value-5-pack-Instantly/dp/B005OCRZO8/

Exactly my thoughts. More than likely, this is all water fluctuation. Disheartening to see the numbers increase, because weight is the most popular way to measure progress. That's why I'd always recommend taking body measurements. They sometimes reveal changes that the scale does not (e.g: You did NOT get "bigger" or fatter if you look at body measurement trends) A device like this makes it all the much easier:

You have a unique closet with lots of great valuable pieces. It's worth it for you to invest in some equipment. Lightweight box and dress form would drastically improve your photos and presentation. You can purchase both for $100 on Amazon.

For your jewelry, I'd buy neutral color jewelry display stands. Personally black doesn't photo well.

I'll do some digging around and edit with links to what example of what I'm talking about. Keep in mind, after you finish selling your stuff (if Poshmark hasnt become habit forming) and if youre done with Poshmark you can always sell your equipment on Ebay. You have high-end unique items that will sell, and professional equipment will speed up the process.

I have one of those scales and it’s a piece of crap. I don’t trust it’s body fat estimates at all. If I have some carbs (usually from beer) I’ll put on a kilo or 2 of water and it disappears with a day or 2. The scales think this is mostly fat.

I’ve lost about 70lbs of fat over the last 3 years and I’ve had periods where I didn’t know whether I was losing fat or muscle and also gaining fat or muscle (when eating at a surplus). The best thing I did was get a cheap body measuring tape which makes it really easy to take consistent measurements of my body. You can then use the Navy or YMCA body fat calculator to estimate body fat %. From there you can estimate how much fat and lean mass you’re carrying around. I track this in a google sheet and I can see what’s happened each month.

The first 2 months on carnivore (after losing bloat, water weight etc) saw me weight stable but I lost about an inch from my waist. I didn’t care whether it was muscle (my strength actually dropped) or bone or organs that kept my weight stable but I knew I’d lost fat. You’re still early on your journey - get one and take measurements now, record them somewhere (you’ll thank yourself later on). Something like this https://www.amazon.com/Measure-Push-Button-Retract-Ergnomic-Portable/dp/B077Z4DRMS/

Only real difference between regular sewing and leather/fur sewing us you'll want to use glover needles and a sailors palm, speedy stitcher, or leather thumb cover with a coin in it. These mittens are some of the easiest patterns to trace two identical halves and sew inside out. Best used with glove liners.

That sewing machine is yelling for oil!
If you want to try it on your own, get something like this that you can put some oil past the bobbin case on the shaft.

Put a towel under the machine and oil every moving part, including under the needle plate after you remove it. Work the oil in hand cranking the machine, see if you can get the squealing to stop.

If you can't get it to stop making noise, probably need a sewing shop to re-grease the internal gears.

Good Luck!

Have you used the homemade baste? I was thinking of using that between the extra layer and blocks then again between the regular layers.

The store bought stuff is pricey.

I also received a box of these clip things along with natural batting as a gift. Hopefully they'll help me out:

Yeah, I also shop online unless I'm away and feeling confident. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071XGLB1S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 One of these tape measures for body measuring will be your new best friend. I shop at Amazon a lot. I like H&M for some basics, including undies. And there are store galore that specialize in whatever style you want to cultivate. If having things shipped to your home is a problem, and you don't have the option of receiving packages at work, Amazon also has pick up location options.

u/996149 · 2 pointsr/freediving

Depending on the size of the splits, you could use a product like Iron Mend, but it's only meant for small rips and holes.

If it's a long tear or a lot of tears you might be able to get someone to repair it, just google for custom wetsuit makers in your area and give them a call. But it might be that the cost of repair is more than a new suit.

u/andreaxtina · 2 pointsr/poshmark

I bought this one from Amazon just to have something for clothes that look weird on a hanger and it’s super light weight which is nice but the fabric on top is a velvet and it is a beating getting certain fabrics to not bunch or look staticy.

I wanted something I could easily move between rooms in my house, but would let me easily hide from company or cats.

The mat on top is glued down with spray photo glue so it could be removed later if desired (through some difficulty). The entire table is collapsible, I would need un-clamp the lamp and remove the shelved items.

> the consistency of it makes it almost infuriating to work with. It gets sticky & waxy and its just impossible to make the nuggets or get it off the dab tool.

This won't change the consistency, but I've been transferring all of my shatter to these sheets. They've gone up a bit in price since I got them, you may be able to find something similar for cheaper, but I really like these vs. dealing with parchment paper or jars. It will still stick, but the sheets won't get raggedy over time like parchment does, and you won't be pulling up any material off the paper. The main reason I even found these, is because I went looking for an alternative to silicone or parchment due to all the warnings of those said materials leeching formaldehyde into the terps - see here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Dabs/comments/83s2g5/lets_have_a_discussion_about_silicone_wax_paper/

Also, some of the shatter I've gotten from Trulieve has had the more gooey terp saucy consistency, especially the indicas, so I don't think it is just a MuV thing, I think it has something to do with the source material?

You're doing way better than you think you are!

I'm probably gonna repeat things other people said but here we go:

  1. You should trim the squares before joining them together, that way you know for sure they will match (you need to cut the square by taking the diagonal line on the ruler and using the diagonal line on the sew line so that the square is perfect, that way the diagonal sew line will end directly in the corner of the square, I hope this makes sense lol). Trimming the squares will also make it so you have less fabric overhanging in your edges (but having some is fine, dont worry about that, it all gets sewed up anyways! =P)
  2. For sewing straight, try not to move the fabric too much and just let machine moving, I realized 90% of the "moving" was actually me, the machine will stay "fairly" straight if you leave it, specially for smaller pieces like we use. I also have a foot that measures 1/4', so as long as the edge of my fabric lines up with the edge of the foot (which is easy to keep track while you sew) you should be perfect! (Also, I notice that when my lines aren't perfectly straight nothing really happens unless it's ridiculously skewed, so again, no stressing!)
  3. Use pins or clips!!! I go these from amazon and I love them! So I guess the real trick for things to line up is just to make sure you clip them together (or pin them). So for example, in your pinwheel, you started with 4 squares an sewed the ones next to each other together....there's nothing really to line up there. Then you have to do top and bottom, I would line up the centers first, and triple make sure that those are right, and then I keep pinning from the inside to the outside....My outside might not always match up 100% but what matters the most is the points so I dont think it's a problem =P

I'm also a beginner so message me if you want a quilting buddy!!! =D These are some pinwheels I made like 2 weeks ago! =P

PS: This is your first block ever and you didn't chose the easiest one soooo GO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A better way to go, if you need it be be conductive from point A to point B, and it does require flexibility...

  1. Conductive Thread (used by knitters for making finger tips of gloves conductive.) I have used this and it worked well.

  2. Softer conductive thread. I haven't used this.

  3. Conductive paint in jar (seems flimsy) or Pen/tube.

Cut a small hole. Stick the eyelet over the hole. Use the eyelet tool to crimp it into place. Real simple. You just need to buy the kit this one cuts the hole, places and fixes the eyelet all in one squeeze of the handle.

Easy fix. $6 spool of conductive thread. sew a few spots into the fingertips of your gloves, then your touch-screen works just the way you need it to. just make sure part of the thread touches your hand inside.

In that case, it seems like he has a really good appetite and may just not be storing much fat, yet (which is normal). A couple things I would do is get a small scale and a tape measure, just to track if he's growing, and just record the numbers in a note on your phone or simple Excel spreadsheet, along with how much he's eating, so you don't have to rely on your memory to spot any trends if he never grows or starts losing weight.

The scale I use is this one, currently $8.50 on Amazon, and a flexible tape measure like this, currently $4.85. I also second making sure he doesn't have intestinal parasites, which is something I would do even if he wasn't showing any symptoms, as infections like coccidia are extremely common and easy to spread within clutches. (Most vet clinics in my area will do a fecal test for under $20).

All that said, there's nothing from your post which would make me think there's something wrong with your dragon. Tracking the babies for the first couple of months is just something I do for peace of mind.

Good luck!

I have been buying the Dahle Vantage mats and they are outstanding. Thicker and more durable than my legit Olfa mats, no odor at all, ship flat instead of rolled, and crazy cheap. I was worried about the quality given the price, but I have been very impressed by them and now have like 8 different mats in 4 different sizes.

I had a pair of heavier leather mechanics type gloves. Due to their tighter fit, I can still manipulate any buttons and what have you. Since I use an old touchscreen phone for GPS and music functions, I used some conductive thread to sew in touch points in various finger tips. Just keep in mind, you have to stitch all the way through so that your fingers actually touch the thread. And no, you don't even notice it is there.
