Here you go.
It's called flavacol, a salt that sticks to popcorn better, and you can buy it on Amazon.com. Add it to Snappy white popcorn and you'll have something better than the movie theater.

It may be cheaper but Sugat's popcorn (the only local brand, I think) is not very good... :(
This article is a bad idea. I hope nobody in Sugat's pricing department is reading this.
Anyway, it's not any cheaper than this popcorn (Free shipping included)
here ya go http://www.amazon.com/Orville-Redenbachers-Movie-Theater-Butter/dp/B00I9VCF0U/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1414447267&sr=1-8&keywords=popcorn+amazon
We're going to need a bigger bag http://www.amazon.com/Paragon-Bulk-Yellow-Corn-50-Pound/dp/B002YLGAFM/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1414447442&sr=1-1
I just ordered this in delightful anticipation of this very thing happening.
I never liked air popped corn - it's too dry, and microwaved popcorn is even worse. Others have mentioned using coconut oil and flavacol salt for the true movie theater popcorn taste. I just bought everyone in my fam a Great Northern Stovetop popper, plus Flavacol and Coconut oil and a giant bottle of popcorn. Doesn't just taste like movie popcorn, it IS movie popcorn.
Movie theater butter isn't butter - it's oil.

I use the whirly-pop method with flavacol and this.
I got you fam
The real secret is flavacol.
Amazon sells it in bulk, or you can get this stuff: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M8HPGMU/
comes in different sizes. we use the 4oz ones with our stir crazy popcorn maker.
You can buy in bulk and get cheaper with just the popping corn, carton of flavacol, and the coconut popping corn oil, but its a little more work to measure it all out. YMMV.

Its at most grocery stores. Get a tub of kernels that will be right next to it and use a forced air popper. Add oil and salt once popped.
as a canadian,
it didn't feel like a whole lof of free trade was going on
I have the air popper and really enjoy it. It's a single use device but I use it all the time. Here's what I do and everyone seems to love it:
It's Jiffy Pop
They still make it. It's a cheap aluminum pie tin containing popcorn, a hardened oil, salt and flavorings, covered by a tinfoil folded spiral disk.
It was fun to watch but the tinfoil is actually terrible for the popcorn and makes it tougher than it needs to be.
You can still buy it if you want.
Have you heard of "hull-less popcorn"? I've heard some orthos recommend it as an alternative to regular, but reviews seemed mixed: https://www.amazon.com/Tender-Pop-Hulless-Popcorn-Kernels/dp/B0051WBSFI?th=1
The cheese powder PLUS popcorn for same price as you listed =)
Jiffy Pop is an American brand of popcorn, marketed in a aluminum foil pan which can be cooked over a burner. The pan is also covered with foil, which contains the popcorn as it pops.
A case of Jiffy Pop (as in the link above) contains 24 pans, so I would have 144 pans of popcorn in my pantry. Which would be just barely a start for an /r/The_Donald meltdown.
I top my popcorn at home with this and that's what brought it over the edge for me. So damn good.
I use a West Bend Stir Crazy, pre-portioned packets from Great Northern Popcorn, a little Flavacol flavored salt, and some additional coconut oil. The coconut oil is the most important ingredient in giving it that movie theater flavor.
The popcorn:

>Any discount codes on mass quantities of popcorn?
Amazon's got you covered there too
Don't know about the microwave movie theater flavor, but this does.
If you still want to microwave, just get a no-butter/light-butter one and add whatever flavor oil/butter you want.
These popcorn poppers are amazing!! You can even buy the oil/ butter flavor stuff! I use a ton of regular butter because IDGAF and it's delicious but for me, this whole set up is better than movie theater popcorn. Just sayin!
I'm pregnant and need snacks fast so I use [this] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DV34I42/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_c.XQzbKCNM7H3) and Flavacol for my mid-afternoon munchie fix. I get it at Walmart or HEB and it is not that expensive, yikes
I literally had no interest in popcorn until this video.
This video inspired me to try out some over priced gourmet popcorn.
Spoiler alert: Not worth the price
That said, it was cool to try and compare the tastes between them.
I think the most importorant thing to do with popcorn is to NOT go with the microwave bags. Stick to stove top. Orville Redenbacher is a cheap(and honestly the way to go) route.
I don't have much experience with dry poppers though I want one.
Thanks for the recommendation. I just like air poppers because it's so convenient though. No need to wash anything after you pop, just empty the unpopped kernels and done. I will certainly try Orvilles. Can you confirm if this is the one?
Amish Country Popcorn - 50 Lb Bag Extra Large Caramel Type Kernels - Old Fashioned, Non GMO, Gluten Free, Microwaveable, Stovetop and Air Popper Friendly with Recipe Guide https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LC243NC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_wALXDbYSG4747
I like popcorn.
Buy a microwaveable popcorn bowl for $15 and a big jug of popcorn for $15 at Sam's or Costco. The bowl is a one-time purchase and the popcorn comes out to 20 cents per bowl.
I add a touch of oil to the popcorn before microwaving, but it's not needed (and makes it a little tougher to clean). Otherwise add salt and/or seasoning and you're good to go.
It's the perfect "I'm hungry but don't want a whole meal" option or "It's 11pm and I need a snack to get me through the next few hours of studying" option.
The machine isn't totally necessary unless you want it for aesthetics, or for its ability to keep popcorn warm. You can get similar results by making it homemade on the stove-top though and you'd save a lot of money. Easier clean-up, too.
That said, I'm not too sure about good popcorn machines, but here are some popular options for good popping oil, salt, and kernels:
Oil:

Salt:
https://www.amazon.com/Gold-Medal-Prod-Flavacol-Seasoning/dp/B004W8LT10
Kernels:
https://www.amazon.com/Orville-Redenbacher-Popcorn-Kernel-Original/dp/B0098IOL2S
And if you're interested in the stove-top method, I wrote a blog about the technique here:

Happy popping!
I eat a lot of this awesome GMO free heirloom popcorn that I pop on the stove. Could always use an air popper to make it healthier. I like to add some Kernal Seasons to add more flavor to the popcorn.
Ok..not entering but have to share. I buy this! Its in my cupboard! Lol..
I received the spatulas for xmas...they are awesome! Love looking at peoples lists. Have a great day!
Having a nice, quiet night in would be a real treat for us!
We'd play some board games and make popcorn
Me time
Apparently, they make popcorn without hulls! No more weird lodgings!
http://www.amazon.com/Tender-Pop-Hulless-Popcorn-Kernels/dp/B0051WBSFI
For Kernels, I recommend:
https://www.amazon.com/Bobs-Red-Mill-Popcorn-Packaging/dp/B004VLV6ES/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1491575140&sr=8-1&keywords=bobs++popcorn
To get the salt/seasining to stick I use:
https://www.amazon.com/Kernel-Seasons-Popcorn-Spritzer-Ounce/dp/B00ZRWHIHY/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1491575070&sr=8-2&keywords=popcorn+spray
Snappy Pop seems to be popular
http://www.amazon.com/Snappy-White-Popcorn-4-Pounds/dp/B00382UXU4/ref=zg_bs_16323041_1
Just buy some decent quality popcorn (use 1/4-1/2 cup): http://www.amazon.com/Snappy-White-Popcorn-4-Pounds/dp/B00382UXU4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394636740&sr=8-1&keywords=popcorn
Get some pure coconut oil (use 2-4 Tablespoons): http://www.amazon.com/Viva-Labs-Organic-Virgin-Coconut/dp/B00DS842HS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1394636782&sr=8-3&keywords=coconut+oil
And some flavacol salt that's used by some movie theaters (use 1/2-1 teaspoon): http://www.amazon.com/Gold-Medal-Prod-Flavacol-Seasoning/dp/B004W8LT10/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1394636795&sr=8-6&keywords=coconut+oil+popcorn
And that's it! Get a big pot and put it on the stove... put the coconut oil in and let it melt. Add the flavacol salt and stir a little. Put one kernel in and wait until it pops... once it does just put all the corn in and turn it off when it stops popping every 3 seconds or so. Best popcorn around.
Get your popcorn ready
I just got this off Amazon, came in yesterday. It'll be interesting to see all the libertarians squirm as the big bad gument gets involved in their butts. I for one can't wait, simply because it'll add legitimacy to bitcoin's dismal reputation. If the government starts regulating it, SEC approves the ETF, it will add a layer of legitimacy to bitcoin. Right now if you asked people about bitcoin they'd say Mt Gox and drugs.
Don't forget this shit. Makes me feel like I am at the movies...
