I bought my wife a Diamond infinite edge and she loves it. it's adjustable from a 13 to 30 inch draw length and 5 to 70 lb draw weight, so you can set it to where she is now and adjust it as she progresses.

{edit} Jesus, It's like an infinite edge commercial in here. Seriously though, it's a great bow.

u/MormonOnAMntnBike · 6 pointsr/flashlight

I have a coupon to buy this kit for $25.79 if you want it. Sofirn makes nice stuff and this looks like a great deal.

u/mathiasben · 5 pointsr/snorkeling

I've been pretty pleased with the Cressi kit I bought a year ago for use during a trip to St Lucia. I spent weeks reading reviews and searching out accounts of gear experiences before making my selection. Since that trip I've used the set about a dozen times since then in rivers, pools and at the ocean and it's held up well. Still works the same as the day I first pulled it on. I've since bought a more powerful pair of fins (Cressi Gara 3000 LD) but still keep the smaller fins for casual diving. good luck!

It'll come out to the low price of $12.95 + your labor (which is worthless anyway, let's be real)

u/kdennis · 5 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Oh girl I feel you so hard. I'm definitely a nervous sweater/ my body temperature skyrockets when I'm under pressure lol. I believe there is anti fog spray for glasses that could help?

I would also look into a natural fiber shirt underneath the blazer to help wick heat as well.

u/Griffin72 · 4 pointsr/Archery

I have the Diamond Infinite Edge. I'm pretty happy with it. It's a bow you and your girlfriend can use, and someday maybe even your kid. IMO the ability to adjust the length from 13 - 30 inches and limbs from 5 - 70 lbs for less than $400 is hard to beat. The package includes the bow, a 3-pin Apex sight, Hostage XL arrow rest, Octane DeadLock Lite quiver, tube peep sight and a BCY string loop.

u/primemaxz · 4 pointsr/boostedboards
  1. No, the boosted board has an odometer that tracks both the trip and total distance traveled.

  2. https://www.amazon.com/GoScope-HALO-Rechargeable-Underwater-Flashlight/dp/B01G7QFS84
Expensive but one of the best options.

  3. They will update us later in November, but for now all we know is that they will be shipping it sometime in December.

Easy. Yak grips. After a long day paddling without gloves, I have had sore hands. Wearing gloves is one option, but they are often too hot. These things supply padding but don’t heat up your hands. Totally worth the $15.

When I'm running and the weather forecast has chance of rain, I slip this on and make sure my Go Plus is underneath somewhere:

Patagonia Houdini Jacket

I got these two items back when the Go Plus was first released:

Aquapac Keymaster

Aquapac Desiccant Sachets

Only used them a few times and got the Houdini Jacket instead because I couldn't feel the vibrations from the Go Plus while it was inside the Keymaster. The Go Plus is more resistant to water/moisture than I give it credit for.

u/meowbrando3 · 2 pointsr/RescueSwimmer

Your focus should be Circuit routines involving push ups , flutter kicks, pull ups, squats, lunges, etc. (mostly calisthenics but throw some weight lifting in there for explosionand strength)
So for example:
5 rounds:

20 push ups
20 flutter kicks
8 pull ups
10 lunges each leg
Rest 2 min

Remember, form is very important and it’s not about the numbers. Scale things/switch it up and do push ups to the beat of a metronome or do pull ups so you hold yourself at the up position for 3 seconds. Get creative and challenge yourself.

The pool:
Get the proper gear. You’ll need goggles, a mask, a sturdy and solid snorkel, fins(the big black ones that generate a lot of torque. I believe they’re called jet or rocket ) and some booties so your feet don’t get torn up from the fins rubbing.

So for a workout in the pool do something like:

450m warm up with only goggles

Ladder exercise: (with goggles)

50m-80% effort
20 sec rest

100m -70% effort
20 sec rest

200m -60% effort
20 sec rest

400m-50% effort
20 sec rest

200m
20 sec rest

100m
20 sec rest

50m

Throw on the gear some days and get used to breathing through the snorkel and using those fins. The fins are made to be used like You would do a flutter kick so core engaged, tight glutes, legs fully extended kicking in a smooth motion.

Water confidence:

4 rounds
100m over/unders

*this means you swim the length of the pool (25m) but half of it you are swimming “over” (on the surface, freestyle) and once you reach the halfway mark you dive below the surface “under” to the very end. Shouldn’t break the surface or come up short.

There’s a ton of different methods to build water confidence such as bobbing, drown-proofing, or simply doing under water laps. But ALWAYS remember to have someone watching you that’s CPR certified and ready to respond.

Would definitely recommend going to a recruiter to see if you can get some face time with a swimmer shop. They’ll teach you form and get you a game plan if you plan on going the rate.

u/knuck887 · 2 pointsr/ElectricSkateboarding

I attached an incredibly bright diving light to my helmet with a go pro attachment.

The tail light I used is only for being seen. Shredlights weren't cutting it on my board, but I did have to jerryrig it to the trucks with some t clamps from Ace Hardware.

u/neminat · 2 pointsr/skimboarding

dang man that stinks. When i had a small crack in a board i reached out to the manufacturer and they recommended this. They offered to fix it for free if i shipped it (across US) or buy this for me. I just bought it myself but it worked well.

Since the board is red, you will definitely see it since you cant dye it.... and even if you could, it wouldnt match.

u/ExcessiveSlaanesh · 2 pointsr/guns

u/Health_Points · 2 pointsr/electronic_cigarette

I go camping down at the Red River Gorge several times a year, and take my vape everytime. You'll probably need some extra batteries. Definitely look into buying some waterproof battery cases, as they're fairly cheap:

I would also recommend puttng them in a dry box/bag if you plan on going anywhere near water. I generally put my mod in one as well:

Exercise food safety protocol when in bear country. Your vape/juice falls into the 'food' category. A bear hang is a pretty simple thing to setup, and is almost a necessary. Here's some info about bear hangs:

Good luck and have fun!

EDIT: If anyone has any better recommendations on a drybox and waterproof battery cases, let me know :)

Must have just gotten a bad batch or the seal was broken - I use the Ding ALL kit from amazon because it has the flexibility to use just the resin or I can use the fiberglass cloth too in case I need to patch a bigger space. Never had the issue of opening a new bottle and it being solid.

I have the Sofirn SD05. I haven't tested it at depth, but it's a good dive light in terms of how it operates. I've also contacted Sofirn about the possibility of a 4000K 80+ CRI emitter, and they said they'll look into it.

I'd also suggest taking a look at some of the dive lights made by XTAR.

u/CarbonCyber · 2 pointsr/sandiego

My recommendation looks like this:

  1. Buy your own gear. Once you go, you're going to want to return, especially once it's free. Check craigslist and local dive shops that sell used gear if you want to save a little money. Don't buy junk. Companies that don't make junk: Riffe, ScubaPro, Mares, Cressi. Go for black silicone as it ages much, much better than clear, which yellows. Don't mess about with dry snorkels (the ones that close with a float when you go underwater), they just get in the way and cost more money. You'll need fins (full heel if you don't want to buy booties), mask, snorkel.

  2. Start off at Marine Room (parking is easier), go out a couple dozen yards and start swimming north. You'll see some sharks!

  3. Head on over to the cove, the scenery is lots prettier, there's a larger variety of fish but there's fewer sharks and rays.

This is my set-up: Snorkel, mask, fins. But I like overkill. You'd do fine with this: Mask + Snorkel, fins. I'd also recommend some socks to prevent chafing.

Once you're in, you're in so expect to be buying weight belts, wetsuits and spearguns in the near future. Have fun and see you out there!

This as my main light at the top.

It seems like a good overall coverage and apparently would keep temperatures to the level I’m looking at, as I’m in the UK and it doesn’t often get hot.

The only reason I’ve gone for solely LED is that they seem really easy to set up and with 5 separate lights being used I can turn some off if need be, as a first timer I just want everything to be easy af and I have found it hard to grasp lighting other than LED

I run a pretty light setup. I've never used a milk crate or bucket

In the back I have a dry box that holds a small battery for my fishfinder, I put my keys in there, and I usually throw my sandals back there. Then my stringer and anchor too.

If I'm going to keep a fish I put it on a stringer and keep it in the water while i'm not moving. I keep the stringer on a 4ft piece of line and I wrap it around an anchor cleat so the fish sink a little and stay cold. Then when i go to leave a place I pull it up and put them in back or just over my feet.

In the hole between my legs, I keep my fish gripper, tackle box, and a pair of forceps and boomerang clippers on a nite ize key chain with retracable clips. This usually stays just clipped my life vest / neck lanyard so it's all easily accessible all the time.

Then my net, and fishing poles. My kayak has built in rod holders

Is his house downwind from someone repairing surfboards? Glass microballoons don't fall to the ground like the road-reflector powder. They're hollow, so they can drift on the breeze.

If they were in his clothes and hair (perhaps from a spilled shipment on RR,) they might seem like a tiny bit of talc. Shaking out hair or clothing would create a big invisible cloud, and they'd later settle on everything.

Look up MSDS safety sheet for glass microballoons.. Non-hazardous. Eye irritant.

Try removing them from skin by using fresh duct-tape.

> the actual cost is about $120 per year per cop to store the videos.

Even if it was double the cost of what I had pointed out, your statement still proves that it's easily affordable to do. Compared to the costs of a multi-million dollar lawsuit pay out that may happen every few years or so, it's costs are negligible in comparison.

You don't need an ISP to move data, there are data transport / secure storage / secure destruction companies such as Iron Mountain and that is their bread and butter. There is competition in that sector which also drives the price down too.

Let's use /r/ioncloud9's figures of 12TB every 60 days. At that level, you don't use an ISP, you use rack mounted removable hard drives OR a removable network attached storage (NAS) device and transport that in a rotation schedule.

Pull the drives that are mounted in their drive sleds and put that into an anti-static bag, that goes into a waterproof Pelican hardened travel case designed for hard drives which has high density foam slots sized for the drive and sled, it's locked and sealed.

On a schedule, the Iron Mountain van / truck shows up, signs for the case and then they take it to their data center and offload the data on the drives to their secure data storage pods. The drives are returned and the police IT department wipes the drives and sets them back in to the rotation for further use.

Professional IT people do this all the time, its a common industry accepted practice.

"Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down the highway.".

--Andrew S. Tanenbaum, (1989). Computer Networks 4th ed., p. 91

"Imagine a company with two offices in different cities, perhaps even in different countries. Each office has a 100 megabit internet connection. If the company needs to send a large amount of data from one office to the other, theoretically a 100 megabit connection can muster about 45 gigabyte in one hour if there are no bottlenecks on the way. This ends up being just over one terabyte of data in 24 hours.

In other words, for anything larger than one terabyte, it would be faster for this company to just send the data on disks for over-night delivery."

--Royal Pingdom, April 11, 2007

In 2015 Amazon Web Services launched Amazon Snowball, a 50 lb (23 kg), 50 TB device for transporting data to the AWS cloud.

Amazon's turn key solution is so simple.

"Sneakernet will never die."

--ComputerSavvy, September 11, 2016.

No ISP needed, cheap, secure and efficient. With today's technology and services that are available which I linked to above, there is absolutely no excuse that holds up to the scrutiny of an informed public.

I still stand by my original statement that the police are using perceived costs as a smoke screen to hide the fact from people who don't know how cheap it is to store and transport data at the professional level.

The police don't want 100% accountability which the cameras and microphones deliver, the camera never blinks and does not lie in court and the last thing you want is legal proof that you just violated a citizen's rights in full HD up on a big screen TV in front of a jury.

The Wax Buddy Product

doctorbean's item

Patent fraud or not, it's still a pretty obvious ripoff.

If somebody had copied a cartoon or a piece of artwork this closely and posted it as their own on reddit, people would be tearing them a new one.

This is why people hate lawyers.

EDIT: I'm going counter to the bandwagon and getting downvoted, but take a look at the google image search for wax combs and note how the only one that looks almost exactly like the Wax Buddy is doctorbean's creation.
