Designed in the PÆR Studio in Paris, the PÆR Floating Light is made from galvanized gavelock and its base is made of oak. Perfect for desks, bedside tables and table tops, this hanging wireless light bulb uses magnetic induction to float freely. The energy-saving LED bulb works up to 50,000 hours.

Wireless power transmission is not a new idea. At the beginning of the 20th century, Nikola Tesla had already made a wireless transmission of electricity : he used electromagnetic induction. PÆR uses this same technology by combining it with magnetic flotation. The power is transferred wirelessly to the bulb, which allows our lamp to float in the air while being lit. The wireless system uses a very low voltage of 4.9V and therefore presents no risks.
