I did very basic upgrades. To start, I just upgraded the headlights to LED’s, of course it makes it look better and lights up the road more. I bought these on Amazon for about $50 (LASFIT 9012 HIR2 7600LM LED... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BRQTP8V?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)

Then I did a mod so the day running lights (DRL’s) will be on when the headlights are on. Basically it keeps the DRL’s on at night too. And during the day I just turn on the headlights cause they look cool. I followed this video here by Just Vlad, (https://youtu.be/9_fFrB4KOYk). Using a 1N5408 Rectifier Diode on eBay.

Then I changed the grill to black by simply using carbon fiber vinyl on most of the trim pieces throughout the car, and the inside as well. I’m sure anything will work, but this is what I have used and has lasted for several months in hot, cold and storms. Just an ebay item, (https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F131708477112) I chose 10ft by 5ft and chose 3d. It looked best for the paint on my car. The higher “d’s” makes it more reflective.

And lastly I upgraded those orange turn signal lights to LED switch backs (the most painful part of the upgrade.) Following videos on YouTube and forums gave me the best results. This is the first video I saw that made me want to upgrade, (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7fMm7ZCmxek). I used these LEDs with nothing but replacing the bulbs was done, there is no hyperflash btw. (http://syneticusa.com/Shop/index.php/led-lights/switchback-dual-color/7443-super-bright-switchback-33-led-build-in-load-resistor-version3.html)

And thats pretty much it.

So it is actually a 3 part ordeal.

The actual fog lights since my car didn't come with them, and the stalk. Then I did some c-shaped drl since I have leds in my high beams and the factory drl doesn't work with leds, but then the c-shaped drl didn't work for a little bit so I bought the drl turn signals, and then the previous c-shaped ones started working again. I will just post all of my mods below:

I had my rims done by a local company, they are the factory 16" painted gloss black. My mazda emblem is actually a long story, but essentially it is just scuffed up with sand paper ready to be painted but I liked the look and stuck it back on the way it is. I have also installed car play, and 3D printed a shift knob. The factory bose system was a little lacking and put a small under seat sub in to help fill the sound, but am still not happy with it, so that's a future project.

Some near future plans for the car include the aero kit, and I'll post the links to those here too:

I used the ones linked below. I think they are ok not great. No canceller or resisters needed. They display a proper beam pattern (if properly installed) and won't dazzle drivers in other cars. I love the whiteness and clarity of LED, but honestly these aren't much brighter than stock halogens. What I'm saying is you can do better but these are pretty cheap.

I upgraded to Sealight bulbs from Amazon and I got a big improvement on my 2001. I don't have before/after pictures, but I feel much more comfortable driving at night now.

LED low beams

u/wrexecute · 2 pointsr/genesiscoupe

I got these for the ambers. Still kickin since 2017. Can't say the same for the tag light or interiors tho.. Avoid big packs of cheap LEDs, they're just waiting to flicker.

Low Beam I'm quite happy with these although they don't really fit inside. You'll need something like this and optionally a pair of these to seal it up, but a lot of ppl don't.

They are super bright and easy to replace.

u/Webhito · 2 pointsr/FiestaST

Not wanting to deal with drilling holes and splicing cables I purchased some h11 led bulbs and replaced my exisiting fog lights, they aren't nearly as good as a led bar would be, but they are far better than just using the stock headlight/fog light combo my fist came with.

The exact model I purchased are these:

u/dubedube11 · 2 pointsr/scooters

I cant speak for this led headlight below so I would double check reviews. But assuming you have an regular bulb installed currently, this would be a much better option. Led offers much brighter lumen levels and are low power/heat output.

I swapped to Led for my 2018 Boom bd50qt-9a 50cc scooter and I'm able to safely drive at night in the country side and city now that I can see.

Also check the output to the headlight so you can match it to the new one. You dont want a DC headlight if you scooter outputs AC power to the headlight, or vise versa.

I went with the Hikari Ultra LEDs from Amazon. Has a fan built into the back of the bulb so it’s too long to fit the stock bulb cover over it—I’m currently modifying mine so they fit for my 2015. They are super bright and the beam pattern, since we have projector lenses, retain the sharp cutoff line.

u/IceShallSnow · 2 pointsr/cars

Do you live in a city or rural area? If city, I would only upgrade fogs and highbeams, leave the low beams halogen. Philips makes the best halogen bulbs.

LED bulbs don't play as nice with headlights compared to halogen or hid bulbs. They tend to have a less focused beam, resulting in more glare, and equal or less beam distance.

The 2014 Civic has 9005 high beam, 9006 low beam, and h11 fogs.

You can upgrade your highbeam to led, and get that new white led drl, along with a brighter, more floody highbeam.

I have this bulb in my 2006 Civic high beams, and love it. It has a fan, but it's only noticeable when you're stopped, and the radio isn't playing. Plus, it's only on with the high beams. About 2x brighter than stock highbeams, and a little more distance.:

For fog lights, he's a kit off Amazon. I'd recommend yellow fog light lenses, as the lower color tempature helps with rainy roads. Reflects better off wet surfaces. Also looks cool. You will have to do some diy wiring with this kit though. An independent shop should be able to install the kit within a few hours.

For led bulbs, I have these in my car also. Not super bright, but definitely a little brighter compared to halogens. No fan to fail, and are more reliable than halogen bulbs.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B074GX852M/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1510247478&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=h11+led&dpPl=1&dpID=51zNCZD1E%2BL&ref=plSrch

And finally, just get these for low beams. Brighter, slightly whiter, and a bit more beam distance:

I'm pretty satisfied with these. Make sure you select the correct size. Also, note that LED / HID lights are more reflective on wet roads (in the rain) and feel less effective even though they're much better otherwise, in my experience.

Precisely these: BEAMTECH H11 LED Headlight Bulbs, 6500K 8000 Lumens Extremely Super Bright H8 H9 COB LED Chips Conversion Kit,Xenon White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZDQ8BK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_blF.BbVG6FPJF

The biggest difference between the bulbs I purchased and the ones you linked are the fans/lack of fans. The ones you linked don’t have fans, but the bulbs I purchased do have fans, so whenever my lights turn on, they make a quiet whirring noise. It doesn’t really bother me though. The ricer in me found it kinda cool when I turned them on for the first time lol.

u/shawnvesi · 1 pointr/fz6

Since the bike already has two connectors, couldn’t I just use this bulb with one of the connectors on the bike and leave the other one alone? That way I can switch between hi and low beam and not do any cutting. Or will this method not work?

Worth the change over! I did a headlight restore kit and then added these. The vision is so much better at night. I don't know how I had even seen before. Only downside is that people think they are your high beams. I tried switching the high beams but the ones I got never worked. It's a clear white light now so even without the high beams, these are awesome. They have a mininfan built in so when the lights run, the fans run.

I just replaced my bulbs with these. No new housing.

The brightness is MUCH better. Compared to these, the stock was like holding a bic lighter in a dark room.

It has been 4 months and going strong so far.

Not quite cheap, but I put these on my bike and they are phenomenal. Used them almost every day for close to a year and they are still flawless. I wasnt going for cheap, I was going for best I could find.
