Here
GCN Chainsaw
It was part of a Prime/Gamecube bundle. The first disc is Prime and the second is like a demo disc for Prime 2.
Edit: Here's an Amazon link
Nintendo Super Smash Bros. Black Classic Gamecube Controller https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O9GW8VK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_xlstzb5FM9CV3
Also, you'll want one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Honbay-128MB-Memory-Compatible-Gamecube/dp/B011HMIVJ6/ref=pd_sim_63_20?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B011HMIVJ6&pd_rd_r=GJ44Z55TGX4ZPE9KWCE4&pd_rd_w=3u86I&pd_rd_wg=iYIzW&psc=1&refRID=GJ44Z55TGX4ZPE9KWCE4
Do your research though, some won't work properly.
Games (in no particular order):
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Metroid Prime, 1 and 2 (recommend playing prime 1 first, prime 2 is Nintendo hard at times. Also IMO Prime 1 is better for popping your cherry between the two. There is a third game for the Wii and the first two games were ported to the Wii with updated graphics and controls, in case you would prefer to play the Wii version. Def play Prime 1 first however)
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess (pick one and play the other if you like it. Also TP was ported to Wii with motion controls, and the whole game was mirrored to accommodate for that. IMO the 'cube version is better. That said, Nintendo tried for a more realistic stylization and thus it hasn't aged nearly as well as WW)
Starfox Adventures (if you liked the Zelda games, def check this one out)
Starfox Assault (absolutely nothing like Starfox Adventures. But a good game nonetheless)
F-Zero GX
Super Monkey Ball 2 (don't bother with Monkey Ball 1, Monkey Ball 2 is just straight-up superior in every way)
Super Mario Sunshine (This classic has aged like fine wine. Graphics were good back then and still hold up today, thanks to its stylization)
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (if you are only going to play one game make it this one. Absolutely fantastic unique and creative game, everything about it is perfect; years later and nostalgia still hits HARD for this one, so many memorable moments)
SSX Tricky, SSX 3, SSX On-Tour. (Pick one and play the others if you like it, they all have their own charm. Tricky is arcadey but entertaining. 3 has a more serious tone to it)
Timesplitters Future Perfect
Luigi's Mansion (it's the Ghostbusters game we didn't ask for but oh so desperately needed)
Resident Evil 4 (this game got ported to the Wii with extra content and with Wii controls. I can't speak to it's quality but you should consider looking at both versions)
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Viewtiful Joe
Soul Calibur II
Pikmin 1 and 2
Beyond Good and Evil
Kirby Air Ride
Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness/Pokemon Colosseum (Pick one and play the other if you like it. These are sort of a 3D proper Pokemon game. Not quite but close enough)
Chibi Robo (Never actually played it myself but it has a very loyal fanbase)
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (probably the only superb 3D Sonic game ever imo. Feel free to call me out on it if I'm wrong)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (back when movie-games were good)
Honorable mentions:
Geist (a unique FPS only held back by it's lackluster writing and production quality)
Mario Party 5 (not a huge fan of the series myself but a lot of people like them. Wii games are prolly better tho tbh)
Animal Crossing (the Wii version is so much better)
SpongeBob: Battle for Bikini Bottom/The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie video game (BBB IMO is much much better but the movie game wasn't terrible and features very similar gameplay)
Legend of Zelda: Four Sword Adventures (fantastic game but you really need to play it with friends... Which necessitates at minimum 2 GBA's/SPs and 2 GBA-NGC adapters and optimally 4 of each)
P.N.03 (good luck finding this one. Best description I have for it is that it is a Bayonetta shooter game on the gamecube)
The Sims
Lego Star Wars games (really should play it with a friend)
Need for Speed Most Wanted
Mario Golf
Super Mario Strikers
Mario Superstar Baseball
Timesplitters 2 (IMO Future Perfect is better but this one is worth checking out)
Tony Hawk's Pro-Skater 3/4 (Never actually played but I'm a huge fan of THPS2 on the N64 so I imagine these newer ones are also good)
Wario World (Sort of a hidden gem. Like a 3d Warioland. IMO the Warioland games are better but this is worth looking at)
Other games as well but this is the cream of the crop IMO and they all exemplify what made the 'cube such a great console. I'm sure there are fantastic games that I missed, of course explore everyone else's comments as well :-)
Congrats on the decision to play some GameCube games. You are in for a treat.
No, you can play GameCube games on the Wii. All you have to do is buy a copy of Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness (they're pretty cheap used), a GameCube controller (also pretty cheap), and a memory card (probably pretty cheap, but not sure).
I have provided some stereotypical links for you. You do not have to get them here. If you buy this memory card (which has great reviews), you can use it for future GameCube games because it has a lot of space. You can also use the controller for future GameCube games. All of this costs about the same as one new game, but I feel you have the potential to get a lot more usage out of everything if you play your cards correctly. Hope I helped. xD
Here you go man, this is the most ergonomic GC compatible controller around.
I see your Patrick PS2 controller and raise you a Spongebob Gamecube controller
The highest quality picture you can natively get out of the Gamecube is 480p (enhanced definition) using these: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-GameCube-Component-Video-Cable-Pc/dp/B00005QDJU
They are very rare (due to limited production quantity) and such, very expensive. But, in layman's terms, that is the best picture you can naturally get out of the gamecube. All modern TVs have component input (Red, Green, Blue), and they look pretty great, even by today's standard. That said, only about half the Gamecube games are even capable of out putting in
480i480p. You can find a list and more on the component cables here:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_GameCube_games_with_alternate_display_modes
The other option, you can mod your Gamecube to install a HDMI out. It's difficult to do, requires a lot of knowledge, skill and tools. The easiest way is to find someone to do it for you. All that to say, it's not cheap and is more risky 9what if it breaks?).
Finally, there is a company called Bad Ass Consoles, that is "supposedly" releasing an external HDMI plug for the Gamecube called the GCVideo X, but it's still in development and has been for a while. I'm sure it won't be cheap, but all the games will look good.
The cheapest non-Gamecube-console option is to buy a Wii, which will basically do the same thing the component cables will (480p R,G,B), but much cheaper, using Wii's component cables.
Bottom line: You have options to get the gamecube to look great, but none of them are really cheap. I have the component cables. They are reliable, and I love them. It's all a matter of taste. I play the cube all the time, so even though it was expensive, I have no regrets.
If you are looking for the less expensive route, get a Wii and Wii component cables.
I bought two different types of replacement thumb sticks for my controllers.
The original sticks have a little notch that is cut into the side of the left stick that ensures it doesn't interfere with with a surface mounted component on the controller PCB. The ones from AliExpress have the notch and they were cheap so I ordered a set to check them out. The feel of the rubber on the sticks is OK, but not quite as nice as the notch-less ones from Amazon. The difference here is the color and thickness of the plastic. The notched ones are thinner and lower quality plastic than the notch-less ones. The notch-less stick does not seem to interfere with the PCB.
If you are interested in replacing your sticks, I definitely recommend the notch-less variety from Amazon.
I haven't bought a GC, personally I would recommend a Wii. A lot, maybe even most, people playing Melee at tourneys are doing it with a Wii. You could buy them from a local store used, or off eBay or Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009VXBAQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_.nJZAb73XHZ05
Wii

Melee
There is no emulation on Wii for GC, so everything will run correctly.
There are a few things you can do. Firstly, finding an S-video cable will provide you with the cheapest and easiest visual upgrade. The linked version is the most common, but there are better versions available. It's said that a cable with just S-video and no yellow composite output will provide a better picture than a combo cable, but in my opinion, the step up from composite to S-video is far more noticeable than the solo S-video upgrade. Should you want one though, the best one on the market seems to be the one Monster released. The downside here is that S-video is becoming increasingly dated, and many new HDTVs don't have them. Make sure to check and see if yours has an S-video input first!
If you want to go even deeper down this rabbit hole, there is a community dedicated to getting the best visuals out of retro devices, notably the wonderful people at www.retrorgb.com. You'll find a lot of great info there, and in regards to the n64, it sounds like certain colored models were more apt for enhanced modding than the original charcoal version. Most of their recommendations center around displaying on old CRTs though, so if you really want to display on an HDTV, you'll need to really drop some cash.
Specifically, you'd need this beast of an upscaler. you'll see info about this thing on the RetroRGB site, but basically what it does is works solely to convert and upscale the SD output of the older consoles into pixel perfect HD images, with as little input lag as possible. It's not cheap, but many people swear by this device.
Last but not least, you could simply play the waiting game. There will inevitably be a successor to the Retron 5 that plays n64 games in upscaled HD the way the current iteration does. And while you wait, the GameCube, virtual console, and especially the 3ds version of OOT all have improved stability and performance overall.
Hope this is helpful!
Is it one of these chainsaws then?
seriously what the heck
I'll just leave this right here.
That is one badass gamecube!
You could use a freeloader like this one to run american games: https://www.amazon.com/FreeLoader-GameCube-Game-Enabler-not/dp/B00006FRD9
Or you could go the less easy route and get a XenoGC modchip installed (if you're good with soldering you could install it yourself).
Also get an american AC adapter (it works with PAL gamecubes) as the european ones could possibly fry the gamecube.
Why does this exist.
Also, the advertising is pretty laughable.
The description they put on the package to entice kids to buy this is "Put Spongebob in your hands"!
I highly recommend this cable: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000NBWRBQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1453214381&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=GameCube+svideo&dpPl=1&dpID=41BfETVXkfL&ref=plSrch. It's cheap ($6), works for N64/SNES/Gamecube, and it has S-Video, which offers a better picture than the red/white/yellow composite. I use it with my N64 and have seen a noticeably better picture. It's also Prime eligible!
Some on this sub have had bad things to say about this cable for a variety of reasons, mainly that it doesn't offer "true" S-Video. I don't know anything about that and the technical aspects of video output, I just know that I feel I get a better picture with the S-Video than with just a composite cable.
However you come out on the S-Video issue, this cable is still a tremendous value even if you only use composite.
Resident Evil Chainsaw Controller
Its kind of weird but you need atleast a wiimote and atleast a GC controller. When you turn on the wii, it loads the main menu with all the game icons, mii creator, internet and such. You have to select the disc channel to load the game THEN you actually play the game with the gamecube controller. Generally most places you would buy a wii from will give you a wiimote.
If you don't mind a cord amazon has two on sale for $13.50 with Prime Shipping:http://www.amazon.com/Two-GameCube-Wii-Compatible-Controllers-Black/dp/B002L8W5V6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1395895190&sr=8-4&keywords=gamecube+controller
Sure, here it is
I use this Scart to HDMI converter
Scart Hdmi to Hdmi Video Converter Box 1080p Scaler 3.5mm Coaxial Audio Out https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MUNIVRO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_2VJ5ybHXC0RNV
Here is a scart cable. You can search for online retailers that'll have higher quality ones, but figured I send you this link as well.
Gam3Gear RGB Scart Cable for SNES GameCube N64 NTSC https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N8RCWK9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_MWJ5yb9EVJ8S2
I've been using this converter and haven't had any issues and I'm so impressed with the picture quality in my 55" tv
Edit: this will be the best jump in quality from a S-Video. There are other upscalers out there that do an even better job, but expect to drop a couple $$$ dollars on those.
Since you say you're not tech savvy, I'm gonna assume you'd rather not hard-mod your N64 to output a component (480p) signal. Also, N64's output resolution is remarkably low so it doesn't take much to capture good looking N64 gameplay.
What you probably want is an S-video cable (this is the kind I use). I know it says for gamecube, but video cables for gamecube, n64 and snes are universally interchangeable, so you're good.
For capture, the best bang for your buck is gv-usb2. For streaming a composite or s-video signal it's pretty much the universal standard.
Hope this helped.
If your TV supports s-video get one like this. Might as well get the best quality when you can.
So two main options, first would be a GCVideo HDMI dongle for the easiest option, if you have the digital port on the back of your cube:
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F302627845560
It's pricey, but it's HDMI with no fuss. Otherwise: id get an rgb to component transcoded like the shinybow:
https://www.amazon.com/Shinybow-SCART-RGB-Component-Converter-Transcoder/dp/B003YTBGQG
With this cable
Gam3Gear RGB Scart Cable for SNES GameCube N64 NTSC [Nintendo 64 | Super Nintendo] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N8RCWK9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_QxXPAbQ7J6773
But this will limit you to 480i and 240p, which isn't ideal for a modern monitor.
You can try to use a standard red yellow white (composite) cable with your hdtv. It'll output 50hz pal instead of 60hz ntsc. Don't know how your tv will handle a pal signal, but composite on an hdtv is generally pretty bad all around. Blurry and latency from your tv transcribing analog to digital.
With the HDMI adapter, it's digital to digital with no lag, and it spits out a format your tv knows.
With analog (composite/rgb/component) to an hd tv, the signal is going from digital to analog to digital, which increases latency and reduces visual fidelity.
This came with the Metroid Prime Platinum Gamecube bundle (at least that's how I got it anyways).
You can get replacement sticks on Amazon for around $10.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06XGLVF1D/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519840210&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=gamecube+controller+stick&dpPl=1&dpID=41q55o28U7L&ref=plSrch
If you have a PC, you can play plenty of PlayStation 1 games legally without needing the system itself -- most PSX emulators these days have their own 'replacement BIOS' code and don't need an official Sony BIOS file any more (which is technically illegal to download and difficult to dump yourself), and can play the original commercial games straight from a real PSX disc in the computer's CD/DVD drive, so there's no pirating involved. I believe most PS2 emulators still need a BIOS though, since the PS2 code is much more complex and therefore hard to make a replacement for...
Other than that, I'd definitely recommend getting an original Wii, preferably one of the older models that were made with GameCube controller and memory card ports. The Wii itself had a ton of garbage games released for it (though there are a few awesome titles, too, if you're willing to wade through the crap), but it has full backwards compatibility with GameCube games and also has the Virtual Console (I think you can still connect to VC with the original Wii, but haven't done so myself. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please). And even if you don't want to pirate, there are other benefits to softmodding a Wii (which is extremely easy to do, by the way) -- there are plenty of legal homebrew games/utilities for it available on WiiBrew (I recommend POWDER, OpenTyrian, and the WiiMC media player), and if you use an unofficial GameCube loader called Devolution to run your official GC discs, it can mimic a GameCube Broadband Adapter to connect games like Phantasy Star Online to a private server such as Sylverant or SchtServ.
NOTE: I am not a lawyer, but know that emulators themselves are legal as long as they contain no copyrighted code, as deemed by the case of Sony Computer Entertainment America, Inc. v. Bleem, LLC.
Not Resident Evil but... MGS Twin Snakes on GC. Makes me wanna cry :/
um, um, um...
Make me smile, Rasta!
Third party replacement cables are cheap. This one is $5 http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-AV-Cable-Bulk-Packaging-Super/dp/B000035Y6B/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
For a few dollars more, you can get one with S-Video out http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Gamecube-Audio-Video-SVideo-Cable/dp/B000NBWRBQ/ref=sr_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1404327120&sr=1-3&keywords=snes+svideo
Component Cables, but the GameCube ones have been very sparcely made so they're worth 200-300 dollars :/ It sucks. https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-GameCube-Component-Video-Cable-Pc/dp/B00005QDJU
I ordered this one - https://www.amazon.com/Gamecube-N64-S-Video-AV-Cable/dp/B00005RH4D
So yes it does
Of course it depends.
Quick and easy. S-video for sure:
https://www.amazon.com/Gam3Gear-Nintendo-Gamecube-Video-Cable-Super/dp/B00LE3EAIK/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=nintendo+s-video+cable&qid=1558193984&s=gateway&sprefix=nintendo+s-video&sr=8-2
Wwwwaaaayyyy better but not ideal would be a scart cable in a cheap scart to hdmi adapter:
https://www.amazon.com/Scart-Adaptor-Ozvavzk-Adapter-Set-top/dp/B07DG1KGRC/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?keywords=scart+to+hdmi&qid=1558193904&s=gateway&sprefix=scart+&sr=8-8
https://www.amazon.com/Mcbazel-Scart-Cable-SNES-GameCube-NTSC/dp/B01N8RCWK9/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=snes+scart+cable&qid=1558194072&s=gateway&sr=8-2.
Best of the best would be a high quality scart cable from retrogamingcables.co.uk in a scaler such as the framemeister or ossc which would be around 200-300$:
https://www.videogameperfection.com/products/open-source-converter/
https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/nintendo/super-nintendo/packapunch-super-nintendo-entertainment-system-snes-n64-rgb-av-scart-cable-ntsc-gold-scart
http://www.amazon.com/Phantasy-Star-Online-Episode-II-GameCube/dp/B00005RCR0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344549124&sr=8-1&keywords=phantasy+star+online
Currently at $199 for a new copy on Amazon.
I loved this game as a HS student playing with my friends at their house, but I literally can't afford it now.
Amiibo figures, and I'm trying to start a unique game controller collection. My next target: this.
Tales of Symphonia was a good one I bought used for $7 years ago and is now approaching $100 new.
My dying wish is to play Grim Fandango...
I'm still a kid at heart!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000066JRN/ref=wl_it_of_o_pC_S_lnk?ie=UTF8&colid=35DXSKOUVN3HU&coliid=I88IW6XEKDC8Y
I love playing anything Nintendo. :) My entire WL is basically all Nintendo stuff... I'm 12 years old...........
My favorite gaming memory would be playing "Pokemon Yellow". I think it was one of the first games I ever got. :) I loved playing it and having Pikachu follow me around. :)
You'd have to buy the Japanese Version of SD Media Launcher or you can set up a save game exploit to launch Swiss
https://www.gc-forever.com/wiki/index.php?title=Booting_Homebrew
Could also buy a Freeloader
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00006FRD9
I mean that's a good deal and all but is it really worth 5 years to save 10 bucks
It took me a minute too to find some base info. I've frequented this reddit for quite a while. The thing is, I'm not finding solid info. There seems to be two different versions of this bundle. One is a Platinum Gamecube bundle (in which the actual console is Platinum in color) and the other is the Radioshack Platnium Gamecube bundle, which comes with a black console.
http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=29&threadid=98770
This link has the exact box I've got, minus the games which I first mentioned. In that link, it links to the Amazon page
But none of the descriptions really fit what is included in this Radioshack bundle. Which is why this leads me to believe this may be a little more rare than that Amazon product.
This site goes into detail about the bundle and what's included, which differs from mine.
I've got the Jet Black console vs the Platnium. My bundle also includes a Afterglow controller, controller extensions, and a link cable.
Even if it ends up not selling or whatever, I think I've got a nice little collectors item for my man cave anyways. $40 isn't a huge sink of money, especially with this being the final piece in my 2000s Nintendo collection.
This is the one I got. The item photos are all different but that first picture is what I actually received.
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-GameCube-Metroid-Bundle-Limited-Platinum/dp/B001MKT47M
Read the specs. It comes with both games.
The absolute cheapest option for getting something other than snake oil is theCarby hdmi adapter for $75. There weren’t third party component cables for the Gamecube and at this point anyone who wants to make use of the digital out wants hdmi. Anything that doesn't use the digital output is just upscaling the 480i signal from the MULTIOUT port, so it's kind of a last resort to getting "better" image output, this is about as much as you'd want to spend.
Really?
nope, never fixed it, just ended up buying some gamecube controllers. i bought these, there ok.
http://www.amazon.com/Two-GameCube-Wii-Compatible-Controllers-Black/dp/B002L8W5V6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371271739&sr=8-1&keywords=gamecube+controllers
you're lucky, i guess.

http://www.amazon.com/The-Legend-Zelda-Wind-Waker-GameCube/dp/B000084318
Does that mean that something like this won't work?
http://www.amazon.com/Gamecube-N64-S-Video-AV-Cable/dp/B00005RH4D
You don't need to mod to play out of region games. Just use a Freeloader or Action Replay. Easy as pie.
Okay. So at the $50 price point the best card I know is the Avermedia c039. However, I don't know if it will perform better than your current card.
The first thing you should do that will give you a huge quality boost is deinterlace your video. You see those weird lines that show up whenever your character moves? There's an easy way to get rid of them in OBS. Under your capture card's settings there should be an option for deinterlacing. Yadif x2 looks the best imo. If your processor is too weak try regular yadif. This should make the video quality much better.
Also, are you using a spitter? For these capture cards the easiest way to get optimal capture with them is to use S video cables that have the yellow output and the s video like these and plug the yellow one in to the TV and the s video in to the capture card.
Here is a quality example of the c039 with Melee: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2HoOTBunnE
Compare that to the results you get with your capture card and see if it's worth it to you to upgrade. I doubt the quality will be much better but who knows.
If you want to save up for something better you don't have many options. You could do an RGB or HDMI mod to your n64 to get the best possible quality. I don't recommend the elgato. It does it's own deinterlacing and I think it makes the picture look blurry. A cheaper capture card will give a better end result. Your next step up if you don't mod is probably the X Capture 1 or Micomsoft SC512 or maybe some cheaper PCI internal card. I'm not sure if there's a middle ground between $50 and $200+. Good luck!
In case you're interested, take a look at this. It lets you play NTSC and NTSC-J games on your PAL Gamecube.
I'll trade ToS and Pokemon Emerald for Portal 2, but yeah Pokemon Pearl is way too much considering Tales of Symphonia alone goes for a little more, used or new, than Portal 2. At least according to Amazon or ebay. Got anything else for Pearl? I'm open to offers new or old stuff.
Does portal 2 come with case and manual? Both ToS and Emerald are missing their original cases and manuals.
Oh okay, I'm talking about this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Legend-Zelda-Waker-Bonus-Gamecube/dp/B004BLCDXQ/ref=pd_sim_vg_h__15
It seems expensive but it's not if you find a copy in shops or buy it used online.
My opinion is pick up hyperkins hd cable it supports snes/n64/GameCube and boost it up to a 720p signal so much better than standard composite cables for $30
Hyperkin 3-In-1 HDTV Cable for GameCube/ N64/ Super NES https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SCPHHVB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_6tAADb0M51TWK
I found a copy of the original Wind Waker HD on Amazon.co.uk new and sealed for £800.00
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Legend-Zelda-Edition-Gamecube/dp/B004BLCDXQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1408629488&sr=8-2&keywords=wind+waker+gamecube ...some even go up in value it seems.
For those interested
>owning doesn't mean forever
Yes, it does.
>It means having the right to use something for as long as it works
No, it doesn't. That's not how ownership works. That's a concept known as "leasing." This is the same logic phone manufacturers tried to use to stop customers from fixing their own phones.
>try plugging your N64 on your HDTV see how amazing it is to own games forever.
I do have an N64 hooked up to my HDTV. Right next to my NES & SNES. You can get amazing looking results from old hardware on new TV sets. Here's literally the first result on Google.
>I wonder if "ownership" is a more important value in the United States than other parts of the world. It could explain a lot of things including why you can get shot on someone else property...
tf are you going on about? Now we're dealing with self-defense laws? Adios.
Here's the amazon page, check down in the reviews for people who got the matte blue https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-GameCube-dedicated-controller-emerald-blue/dp/B00007IRC5
I think it’d be better to go with one that at least tells their brand, like this one that I bought: Gamilys 128MB Black Memory Card... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011HMIVJ6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I only bought it a few weeks ago so it’s no 10 year test of time, but I feel that a named brand is more trustworthy in general. It’s worked great for me so far. (And it’s very similar in price)
You can buy it here!
It was one of my favorite games on my 'cube. I regret getting rid of it all the time.
I would get one of these. I use something like this with mine so I can plug in s-video to my elgato and the other into my gamecube with regular splitters on my audio ones.
for Virtual console hack you need to follow this tutorial : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vip4edkBAS8
This will let you play wii and gamecube games.
For wii u games you need to install Mocha : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnwB2Yfsnk8
Besides games on Loadiine you can install retroarch, its a lot of work but totally worth it, the Wii U is basically 3 consoles in 1 and everyone should have one, specially if you want to play gamecube over component or hdmi without purchasing that expensive cable : https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-GameCube-Component-Video-Cable/dp/B00005QDJU
They are just as valuable in Japan.

Which it looks like it's sync on composite. Which might me causing my issue? I should look for a CSYNC cable correct?
I don't mind using this one for my SNES tho. Unless it's junk for that too.
EDIT: This guy looks legit. CSYNC and all.

A game I would like to try is Bloodborne . I've played a little bit of Dark Souls 3 at a friends house and really enjoyed it. I've only heard positive review on it and the gameplay and bosses looks like so much fun to play.
My favorite game has to be Super Mario Sunshine. I have so many childhood memories of replaying the different levels. I love the game mechanics and how you use FLUDD in different ways. The game just has a special place in my heart from all the times I would play it when I was a kid.
Thanks for doing this contest, have a good day!
Edit: had to fix the links
As an avid Melee player, I'd love to get my hands on an "Emerald Blue" gamecube controller but there's no way I'm paying $200 for one.

Here's an Amazon link with a bunch of reviews. Looks like it's pretty basic and just adds black bars to the sides. Like they said, gets the job done for the price but nothing too impressive. Also looks like it has some limitations on compatibility (no PAL, some audio issues) and it needs an additional power connection you need to plan for.
Just replace those for a friend, it's pretty easy tho
Here you have the ones he purchased
TBGS 5 Piece Bundle Replacement Nintendo Gamecube Joystick Analog Stick Cap Covers (2 Gray Left Cap Covers + 2 Yellow Right Cap Covers) + 1 Tri-wing Y Screwdriver https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XGLVF1D/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_apa_i_ikBWDbGCQ9FV2
I guess you could try here but be ready to spend at least £30 for a used one. You could probably find cheaper some place else
>the SNES is RGB HD ready out of the box...all you need is the SNES rgb cable
link to this cable? All I've found are links to extensive RGB mods, or what cable I did find I have no idea what to do with the other end lol. Thanks!
I mostly agree (the original is still my favorite, but remake is all around awesome). It's not hard to find tho, just might be a bit 'pricey'.
PAL Gamecubes are region-locked to PAL discs. However, if you get a PAL region freeloader disc, you can use it to play Japanese or American games. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/FreeLoader-GameCube-Game-Enabler-not/dp/B00006FRD9

how do you know what exactly acceptable, good, and very good look like?
I've been hitting the GCN library hard since I got a refurbished one after my Wii broke. I haven't gotten a copy of Sunshine back yet, they're fairly expensive in good shape, but it's on the top of my list to look out for, along with SSBM. And for the record, yes, the Grumps are making me want to play it really, really bad.
No, not really, I don't have much for the systems your looking for. I have eternal darkness (but I have to check if it works, I may have a duplicate of sonic adventure 2 battle I could trade (I have to look), I also have this game in great shape: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/ol/B00005RCR0?c=u
But, I'm going to sleep now so I will get back to you tomorrow if you have any further interest.
im new to consoles but i ordered these the other day for my initial purchase.
