You also need to wire this in so it can make appropriate noises when passing dice.

Get yourself a little 5.8GHz wireless camera and a 5.8 wrist monitor and have easy visual feedback too!

Edit: Seriously though. That camera combo runs on 5 volts, so I'd grab a 5V step down regulator and put the camera right on the print head.

u/secondo08 · 5 pointsr/OculusQuest

is there a L-type (im not sure what you called that type of earphone jack) version of this one ?

edit: just saw this one L-Type Jack

This one as been in my amazon "saved for later" list ever since my nephew was born. He's got pretty decent at the slot car track I have in my living room... you know, for when he comes over and stuff... Which reminds me I still need to order some laser sensors so I can build us a lap timer...

Pro-tip: if you have siblings let them make all the grandchildren.

I'm in Canada but I'm sure there are Amazon shops that ship from Europe/US!

Polar pro case
Fits 2 extra and slimmer than the original case

Controller joystick guard
You can probably find a cheaper one.

Gimbal guard Extra protection while in the bag.

Phone Hood

Power Bank

This is my set up if I'm going outdoor. They don't take up that much space so. You can fit it in any size of backpack you want.

Hydration backack
The quality is ok for the price. I dont use the bladder when I have my spark inside.

I got my 5 year old an Arrma Granite Voltage:https://www.amazon.com/GRANITE-VOLTAGE-Electric-Control-Monster/dp/B07846P1Z7/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=arrma+voltage&qid=1554690319&s=gateway&sr=8-1

price keeps going up but you should be able to get it for $99, it's big but it's also lightweight which means less stress on jumps, batteries are super easy to understand. Finally it's not a crazy unique design so you can upgrade the motor with him $10-20 bucks. You can put a 2s lipo in as right away well, super easy I bought these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DV7TYNT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and I could not get them to fit with the battery carrier (too long and I thought I was going to break the wires off.) but I just put them in the battery case with some foam from the packing material of a xbox.

We built a big ramp 2 feet tall and he drives it off sideways landing on one week and not break.

The only thing that was damaged was a shock because he caught it on a blackberry vine and it pulled the shock apart, got it fixed but I will keep an eye out for some cheap basher shocks when I find something good

Have fun

Order a couple of e010 frames and a carbon fibre X brace. You can get it all on Amazon.

You will break more frames so just go with the cheap and easy to replace, then you wont feel so hesitant to push yourself.

I have the rakon frame and while I love it wish I had not purchased it over more e010 frames.

Ideally, you’d want to save up a little bit. But here are some low buck recommendations that include everything you need (radio, batteries, charger).

Try DNA toys. One of our heelers will only play with the DNA toys-we keep extras in a drawer in case his brother tears one up. Our other heeler will chase tennis balls all day long, and she loves to get after my Rustler in the back yard.

u/dubman42 · 2 pointsr/rccars

I would really suggest two cars. I have two boys and 1 car between the three of us got old real quick.

I would suggest a Traxxas XL5 or Traxxas VXL. I have one of each and it works well for us.

u/shooteredditor · 2 pointsr/Multicopter

So i actually went with this. It's a little gimmicky but it works all in one.

u/uncleBobThePhotog · 2 pointsr/Multicopter

I like the de-pinned because it makes the whole receiver smaller. That way you can shove it between the fc and the pdb. I solder the wires directly to the fc and directly to the x4r-sb. This keeps it from falling off, which happens sometimes.

You shouldn't need to change camera if you buy the skyzones or fatsharks. I didn't see what camera you were getting. But the 600tvl cameras are all good enough and they're like 40 bucks. I use this one. http://pirofliprc.com/Pyro-Drone-Sony-Super-HAD-II-CCD-650-tvl-IR-Block-Orange-25mm-Lens-_p_3379.html

I have the qav210(favorite and has lasted the longest). I had the qav-r 5" clone that everyone talks about on here. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DBR4OE6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Which isn't a bad frame. It just has a bad bottom plate design. I just ordered this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HLT3L08/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I think I'm going to do a build video on it tonight. I really like this frame but it's pricey, http://xhover.com/collections/new-products/products/mxp200b-4mm-racing-quadcopter

You can spend 40 bucks on a frame but you get what you pay for. I went through three of those qav-r clones. I could have just bought the xhover.

Another tip - make sure and use a sma pigtail for you vtx. It will save your vtx from breaking at the connection. Or, get a vtx that has a pigtail soldered on.

This hobby isn't cheap. I'm really bored at work today.

u/cynoclast · 2 pointsr/newreddits

Oh my god dude, the S026G is by far the best, most stable, and easiest to fly. Noticeably better than the S108. WAY better than the U809's

Get one, get one, get one!

So stable, so maneuverable... and the shoulder buttons will give you a really small, stable forward/backward cruise control. (I think that's what they do? the manuals are garbage).

Def my favorite of the three models. Though the S108s are fantastic fliers too. The U809s are fun to harrass friends with, but they're really, really hard to control compared to the S108, let alone the S026G.

u/jolars · 2 pointsr/Multicopter

I am flying one of these and like it quite a bit, not sure if it is represented on your list - http://www.amazon.com/Crazepony-Carbon-Unibody-Racing-Quadcopter/dp/B01CXQ66N8?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00

I'd save up a bit more and get a Blade MCX: http://www.amazon.com/BLADE-EFLH2200-Blade-mCX-RTF/dp/B001D7O6JK

Great heli, i own 2.

u/KingOfAllBlacks · 2 pointsr/Multicopter

I run this and bottom mount the battery.

https://www.amazon.com/Crazepony-Carbon-Unibody-Racing-Quadcopter/dp/B01CXQ66N8

The standoffs are weak but its pretty light so it holds up well.

u/TheZebraCorn · 1 pointr/Greyhounds

This one!
It was pretty cheap as far as off roading RC cars go. Only problem with it is that it advertised “30+mph” but really they meant 30kmh so it’s significantly slower than what I wanted. Also it’s durable but not THAT durable so I usually have my girl wear her basket muzzle when playing with it just so she can’t bite and damage it.

u/Baconstr1ps · 1 pointr/rccars

Would something like this be OK? https://www.amazon.com/Traxxas-Scale-Rustler-Stadium-Blue/dp/B07DFXQM9S

Seems there's a few models that get more expensive, with a big difference being 2WD vs 4WD

u/Its738PM · 1 pointr/gadgets

How about a tiny remote control helicopter with two launch-able missiles?

u/mini-z1994 · 1 pointr/rccars

Worth looking at used rc cars from traxxas & similar as well on the 2wd side.

If you want a kind of toy that can run in the backyard & do some crawling you can look at this https://www.amazon.com/danchee-Hunter-Remote-Control-Crawler/dp/B01JF1VR10
do get the rechargable battery for it though linked below or a 2s lipo if you don't mind modifying it a bit as the tamiya connector is unfortunately reversed polarity on this on both the battery holder & this battery compared too standard connectors & batteries used anywhere else.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KP9Q626/

There is also this semi hobby grade crawler from wltoys which you should be able too spot in walmart as well if you happen too live in the US where its called something different but is the same design & around the same price.

https://www.gearbest.com/r-c-cars/pp_009439843866.html?lkid=41552715

walmart variant
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Adventure-Force-Rock-Runner-High-Speed-Vehicle-Black-Blue/328559630

they apparently sold quite well these crawlers.

If you want something a bit faster though that is quite tough i'd recommend this hbx monster truck (it is sold on sites like banggood, ebay, amazon etc as well so take your pick there.)
It does have a slow mode on the transmitter so that battery will last longer (i believe it was around 25 minutes.)
& ofc will hold up fine too a 6 year olds punishments, short of dunking the entire car in the bathtub or a swimming pool or getting it run over by a fullsize car.
There is videos of this on youtube where they take it too a skatepark & bash it & besides needing too pop a part back into place it held up fine.

Maybe a fuel pump cutoff switch? Or wire up a fart machine and put the speaker under the passenger seat

u/pedantic_jackass · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Those are Mini Micro JST 2.0 PH 5-Pin connectors.

Available on Amazon here.

u/ItsKilovex · 1 pointr/Multicopter

Have you checked out banggood.com? A lot of quadcopter stuff there, pretty cheap too!

As for the motors, I've only used the Emax RS2205 2300kv. It's widely used by the community. As far as durability goes, RS2205 motors are incredibly durable.

For the frame, people started shifting towards 220's and lower. I would recommend a QAV210 clone or the QAV-R 220 clone. You can purchase spare parts off of GetFPV. Also, I agree with the unibody frames. If you break them, you'll have to replace the whole frame. That's why I went with the QAV-R. It hasn't broken on me yet!

If you're not doing racing, then a Naze32 Rev6 with strongly tuned PIDs should do the trick.

Littlebee 20a will do fine. You may want to upgrade to 30a if you plan on using 4S w/ triblade props.

As for the C rating, this video should explain it better than I do!

u/johnalxndr · 1 pointr/djimavic

Very easy. heres the one I got from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N9JKRNR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

edit: looks like they are a couple bucks off too!

u/DylanC93 · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Ok, so basically I would just need to solder one of these https://www.amazon.com/Usdepant-Micro-Female-Connector-Cables/dp/B074J7ZV12 into that board you linked and it should be good to go? I don't need to actually solder it into the PCB right?

That's what I'm looking at right now. I'm stuck on what servo and radio to get? They both seem to range from $30 to $80 and above.

While I don't want to buy outright junk to start, I also don't want to spend top dollar if it's overkill. Any suggestions on what to get for the radio and servo?

u/mfinn999 · 1 pointr/RCClassifieds

You are not going to get a 1:10 scale car capable of 20 MPH for $60. If you are OK with a smaller vehicle, there are some 1:18 scale on Amazon for near that price. These will NOT be happy in grass, so keep it in the dirt. Also, if you break anything, finding a replacement part will be very tough. IF it's at all possible, saving up for something like the Rustler ($160) will be much more rewarding:

https://www.amazon.com/Traxxas-Scale-Rustler-Stadium-Blue/dp/B07DFXQM9S/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=rc+cars+traxxas&qid=1569598853&sr=8-8

Walkera ladybird props may give you a bit more power. I would suggest a new set of motors from MMW, that will probably be more along the lines of what you're looking for. Use both and you'll be in good shape for sure.

https://www.amazon.com/Walkera-Ladybird-Spare-Ladybird-z-01-Propellers/dp/B0091N6T2K

u/GasCans · 1 pointr/Multicopter

Can confirm... QR Lady Bird props are the way to go.

u/TwistedStack · 1 pointr/radiocontrol

I went looking around and http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__18283__2_4Ghz_Micro_Coax_Helicopter_4_Channel_RTF_Mode_2_.html seems to be a really cheap model with a cyclic. If you're in the US, http://www.amazon.com/Blade-MCX-Mode-2-mCX/dp/B001D7O6JK/ looks like a better deal when taking shipping into account. Nowhere near $16 for the heli itself though.

u/m0resn0w · 1 pointr/Whatcouldgowrong

Does anybody else think this is maybe a 'fart machine' like this: Fart Machine

While inappropriate (although funny IMO) I could see them pranking her. Especially the way one or two of them can't stop laughing. It sounds like someone actually started to snicker right before the second fart - kinda like it was all planned.

Still funny either way, because air escaping from your butthole = funny.

u/anticant · 1 pointr/rccars

Would this be a good start? Rustler 4X4: 1/10-scale 4WD Stadium Truck https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JZKJQT5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_iblNDb0AJMBQ3

u/doneal · 0 pointsr/RCHeli

There aren't good cheap helicopters. There are three channel dual main blade machines everywhere. I like the syma brand. Less than 20$ on ebay and they are as good as walmart gets. This heli will go up and down, turn and slow forward flight. http://www.amazon.com/Syma-S107G-Channel-Helicopter-Gyro/dp/B00F4WMAI4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418266749&sr=8-1&keywords=helicopter

A nice step up from that is the blade mcx. It's still dual rotor, but a real helicopter. This heli will do exactly what you tell it, but still be extremely stable. http://www.amazon.com/Blade-MCX-Mode-2-mCX/dp/B001D7O6JK/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1418266853&sr=8-6&keywords=blade+helicopter

There really is $30 of difference between them. Good Luck.

u/unleashedlive · -1 pointsr/ottawa

There are some many variables there. For a few hundred dollars, which would be very cheap in this hobby, you can get up and running. This thing will be much stronger in most areas than the cheap crap, but still is not indestructible. On the flip side, replacing $5,10,15 parts can spur a potential engineering mind or creative side in your kid. You need to disassemble, fix and reassemble which can be a good lesson on its own. The cheap stuff just breaks and you're SOL. Hobby grade stuff is fixable.
