Did you try any of these items? I'm not able to apply it to any computer part I try, including the AsRock H110 you linked.

Really wanted to grab a Kraken X31, but I'll just wait for now.

EDIT: Just tried every item on that list and get the following error: "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase." I haven't used the promo on any item yet, because every computer part I've tried gives me that error :(

This is a pretty good deal even though it has a cooler that isn't the greatest.

I'm not sure if the Kraken G10 is compatible with this card, but if it is then you can get that for $40 bucks here

Find the cheapest compatible 120mm radiator and you've got yourself a nice liquid cooled 1080TI.

Regardless it's a better deal than the Vega GPUs.

This is the brand new Deepcool Castle 360EX that was just released at Computex. This model is on sale for $145 and the 240mm model is on sale for $109.99, however there are only about 17 or 18 of them still in stock.

Edit: The main differences between this and the previous model, the Deepcool Castle, are:

  1. The Deepcool logo in the center is removable/replaceable now (YESSS), and frankly, it looks pretty awesome with the cap just off. Also, there's an RGB ring around the middle of this new model.

  2. The fins are 25% larger.

  3. They included their new "anti-leak technology" which is basically a bag that exhales air as the radiator cools/heats to prevent damage. No idea if it actually does anything.

  4. No more RGB fans, which people apparently weren't a fan of originally. Personally I found them a bit low density as far as the LEDs go, but the new fans are supposed to be more performance oriented.

    Edit 2: Edited for accuracy.

Just to make it easier: here's the link, straight to the correct seller (Deep Cool)

The $20 coupon is on the item page as well.

I like the aesthetics of the cooler, but does anyone here own it who can comment on the performance?

u/spalexxx · 7 pointsr/watercooling

First off... I know my bends are fucking putrid. Shamefully disgusting even.
I seriously didn't think I would suck so bad at bending PETG.

Some of the mistakes I made was:

  1. Buying this kit that was made for 16mm tubing, when I was using 12mm tubes.

    https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-PACIFIC-Water-Cooling-Bending/dp/B01BX3EZUI

  2. Using 12mm tubing (I think 16 would look better).

  3. Not having enough 90degree fittings

  4. Not buying more PETG. - You would think that 3 meters would be enough right? Wrong! Not with all the fuck-ups I made.
I really want to go back a re-do the piece that goes to the GPU and the one that goes from the GPU.

Anyway, some things that I am VERY happy with:

  5. Mayhems Pastel blue pre-mixed coolant. Even though my bends look disgusting, I just love staring at that blue coolant.

  6. Even though they are useless when using pastel coolant, I bought these UV LED strips... And I was shocked to find that they were'nt just crappy "UV colored" LED strips.

I've been looking for a 360mm AIO to pop in my Lian-Li dynamic case and this looked really good. Youtube reviews and amazon reviews seems to make this an attractive option at this price point. I'm not 100% sure if the anti-leak condom is a gimmic or legit, but it seems like DEEPCOOL may have fixed their leak issues from the castle series at least. I used the Amazon smile link, in case anyone wants to donate.

Apparently, this was around 129.99 or so at one point when it first came up, and it's been 159.99 since: https://camelcamelcamel.com/DEEPCOOL-360EX-Addressable-Technology-Motherboard/product/B07S34WNTF

The coupon code is a check box under the price on the product page, click it and go to checkout to see the discount applied. For me it removed taxes basically ($15).

The white version is also on sale, for $15 dollars off but comes in at 169.99 normally instead of 159.99. Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X74W9TL/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_image_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

You need petg (or acrylic) compression fittings along with a heat gun (to bend the tubes), a rubber piece (to put in the tube to you can bend them properly), a cutting tool, and some people use a tool so you can shape right angles or certain degree angles. Something similar to a set like this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01BX3EZUI/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1523146049&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=petg+tubing+kit&dpPl=1&dpID=41S475EAcuL&ref=plSrch

(I am NOT promoting this kit! But those are tools you need, or tools similar that do the same thing). Best of luck!

According to (camelcamelcamel)[http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/Corsair-CW-9060028-WW-Hydro-Liquid-Cooler/product/B01FSMWFQG] this has been the lowests its ever been on amazon.

I don't know the accuracy of that price tracker and i can't seem to find the price history on pcpartpicker. From this table it looks like its between a NZXT Kraken x41 and a Corsair H75

(thermalbench)[http://thermalbench.com/2016/09/27/corsair-hydro-series-h45-aio-cpu-cooler/5/]

Hopefully it will give someone more options to choose from as its very close to traditional Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO in price :D

edit: i forgot to write in the title why this might be a good deal for someone so i wrote this info here :P

You don't need a liquid cooler for that cpu at all its overkill unless you want to buy it now to get it over with. Buy something like the evga clc 120 rgb. The rgb one is the only one that fits socket am4 or ryzen. I have the similar one that fits my 1700 or the corsair h55 I used both in the past.

i've spent a lot of time inside a nano s, here are my thoughts

mock up a 203x400mm rectangle, that's how much space it will take on your desk

the only cable that will really need an extension is the EPS and possibly 24-pin depending on how you're routing things

i used a powered PWM splitter in mine. mounts nicely behind the motherboard tray. i would buy this, but either solution you linked will work fine. i prefer a sata powered one myself

where will you put the 240 aio? you can easily fit a 280 aio in the front. can confirm corsair h115i pro fits well. the new artic thing also looks nice

that FSP should fit fine, can't imagine why not. i'd suggest an SFX-L over SFX in the nano s though. you don't lose any usable space and gain a quieter fan. the silverstone sx500-lg maybe?

i'd suggest getting the demcifilter top filter if you're planning to put a rad up top. it's ugly without the top cover, and the filter sort of helps with that while also serving a practical purpose (top is unfiltered otherwise)

also look into other nvme drives. 660p is not good. see newmaxx's guides. inland premium and team mp34 are both $111 on amazon, and are well worth the $16 over the 660p imo.

AMA about nano s in general. i've used them multiple times, excellent case.

edit: also, hopefully evga includes a 2-slot pcie bracket for that card- nano s has 2 physical slots

edit2: evga sells it separately - p/n M022-10-000138

I recommend you get these 2 things if you dont want your card to sound like a hair drier

Single bends are fine, it's just two bends on a single tube which can take a lot of trial and error.

Not sure what you got in tools yet but I kit similar to this( https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B01BX3EZUI/ ) would help alot. I didn't have the silicone tube when I did mine and trying to bend the tube without it collapsing was a PITA. You will also need a heat go though, you can generally pick one up a a hardware store reasonable cheap.

u/kansasjeremy · 4 pointsr/buildapcsales

yep. even my triple fan gigabyte 1080ti was hitting mid 80s. here's the aio i used. if you watch, it sometimes go on sale. i got it for $29.99

https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Liquid-Cooler-Cooling-400-HY-CL11-V1/dp/B07CNXHYJ2/

the only issue with the evga cooler is the plastic cover on the block. something about the cover makes it crazy hard to mount on the g12 bracket, so i just popped it off. it's just a plastic cover, so it won't hurt anything.

i think the corsair h55 / h50 would also work. those blocks look short enough to fit.

The new Arctic Freezer II 280mm/360mm a great AIO for the price that runs very quiet and cool at under $100. It actually seems to beat most of the highest end coolers on the market too and doesn't have shitty CAM software like NZXT. The reason why it performs so well is that it is the 38mm thick radiator with some really nice fans vs the 30mm for the NZXT X62, 26mm for the Corsair h115i, and 27mm for the EVGA CLC 280.

Get dual channel memory. Some games (like bf1) do't work well with single channel memory.

Get a smaller power supply, because 850+w for a build with a system draw of 300w is waaaaaa overkill.

As well, if you want liquid cooling, This thermaltake liquid cooler will do a better job at a lower price. Just make sure your case can support it.

u/MeMuzzta · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Yeah it's what I've ordered I was just reading reviews when I can across that thing lol. It's here if you want a look.

u/aka-Max89 · 3 pointsr/battlestations

Thanks! The cooler is the Deepcool Captain EX RGB. It’s quite, works great and looks awesome!
(EU link btw)

u/narsnail · 3 pointsr/overclocking

Even if during "normal use" you aren't hitting high temps, I would not use the cpu package temp as a reference for that.

Uninstall hwmonitor and install HWInfo 64, it has a lot more to show you and you will notice that each core has it's own temp. Core temp is what you should use to determine if its getting too hot. Even if you see just a couple cores hitting high 90's/100 that's cutting it close. Not worth it IMO.

https://www.amazon.com/NZXT-Kraken-360mm-All-One/dp/B079J2N8Q8/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3AWNUKD3SZE3H&keywords=360mm+liquid+cpu+cooler&qid=1565787825&s=gateway&sprefix=360mm%2Caps%2C163&sr=8-5

I would suggest that one.

https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Premium-Efficiency-Radiator-CL-W158-PL12SW/dp/B07537Q8LV/ref=sr_1_7?crid=3AWNUKD3SZE3H&keywords=360mm+liquid+cpu+cooler&qid=1565787825&s=gateway&sprefix=360mm%2Caps%2C163&sr=8-7

This is the one I have on my 7800x, which is not quite as hot as yours will be but close, and even after a delid with liquid metal I hit high 70s @ 4.6 and sometimes peaking into 90s @ 4.8.

u/xDragod · 3 pointsr/buildapcsales

Definitely not as cheap, but I am in love my new AIO: https://www.amazon.com/DEEPCOOL-360EX-Addressable-Technology-Motherboard/dp/B07S34WNTF

I can't seem to find any fittings made for draining on the websites I buy from. Could it be possible to create my own drain? Using this kind of fitting with this stop plug on the unused IN port of my pump

u/Erectylereptile · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Nzxt sells a mounting bracket that allows you to use the circular AIO CPU water coolers such as the kraken. It was a little scary taking apart my GPU to mount it. Especially since it didn't even say it could work with my GPU (R9 390x). But it ended up working out and does a fine job.

Edit: I got it because I was doing the white and blue theme and wanted my GPU white but didn't want to paint it.

My anti-virus is blocking the cloudflare link, but from what I understand +65% is a pretty reasonable expectation. If you could run at the same clock speed then AVX-512 would be twice as fast,
and when you account for the downclock that accompanies AVX-512 then 2x dropping to ~1.65x seems to be pretty close. Yes you need a good cooling system, but if I were to build an AVX-512 system this will be very minor part of the total cost (I tentatitively priced out a i9-7940x with full 128gb of ram, the original vega designed for computing, and accessories, and was looking at ~$4k or so. I have to imagine that something like this would handle it and at $140 is literally only ~3-4% of the total cost).

(note: the bus width with AVX-512 is also doubled relative to AVX-2, so your I/O time doesnt increase in terms of % of total time).

u/zneumann · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace
u/liquidnut · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Yes, I did. I used a jig to create the right angles. Takes a bit of practice and feeling the tube. I used this tool set Thermaltake I recommend you buy extra PETG(hard tube) and try to make a bend on the shortest tube you'll need for the loop so if you mess up it's not that big of a deal. Watch How-Tos for tips of making bends on PETGs on YouTube.

u/PaintballerPewPew · 2 pointsr/watercooling

If you're cutting into something like PETG I would recommend a kit like this, especially if you're new to rigid tubes, cutting and bending. https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-PACIFIC-Water-Cooling-Bending/dp/B01BX3EZUI (it comes with several useful tools including a well-made pipe cutter, silicone insert, mandrels to help with bending, and a reamer to clean the edges of the tubes). It's a bit pricey but worth it imo.

u/Seriously_High_Guy · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Sure bud, here is the cooler and here is the fan I put on the rad, completely optional but I'm certain makes a big difference in noise, as Noctuas are top end.

Also, here is the video tutorial for installation, an easy installation that takes a little over an hour if you have the right tools, but is pretty simple. Here is the tool set I used, and it gave me any size or fit that I needed to do this easily, plus is great if you ever do any computer customizing in general and need a nice set.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Did you get the Floe? I wish they had one that included the trio fans

u/dnielso5 · 2 pointsr/hardwareswap
u/Dbowden10 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

May have.

It's an ASUS motherboard (though it should also work with Gigabyte motherboards per thermaltake's documentation). and thermaltake has an extra peripheral called the TT sync controller. Its a small box, you hook the fans into it, powered by SATA - then you run PWM cables from the sync controller to the motherboard fan headers, and a specific cable to the motherboard's addressable RGB header.

All the RGB functions on the case I can control via one piece of software (ASUS Aura sync) and the fan speed (and pump speed) is controlled via BIOS settings.

It's really pretty slick, all works exactly as advertised.

EDIT: This thing

u/Fireflair_kTreva · 2 pointsr/buildapc
u/oddeeoh · 2 pointsr/watercooling

I tried the Thermaltake software for a while and got tired of it. I ended up picking up this:

https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Addressable-Controller-Compatible-CL-O015-PL00BL/dp/B079FYL6LM/

It allows you use your motherboard's addressable RGB header to control the lighting and the pwm fan headers to control the fan speeds. I have 9 Trio's hooked up to one of them.

I use Asus' Aura lighting and whatever their fan software is called. You don't have as much control of the individual lighting with Aura as you do with the Thermaltake software, though.

I see some problems with this build, I have linked an updated version https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/FqyxzY:

The M12-II is a very low end power supply unit and should be avoided at all cost, the CX550 M is better.

  1. I would get a https://www.amazon.de/Thermaltake-AC-023-AN1NAN-A1-Commander-PWM-Lüfter-schwarz/dp/B015KG6HP0/
  2. You would need one of these, it doesn't have suffiecient RGB headers ( https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450-AORUS-M-rev-10#sp ) https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Addressable-Controller-Compatible-CL-O015-PL00BL/dp/B079FYL6LM/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=rgb+hub&qid=1554835467&s=electronics&sr=1-3
  3. The Masterair G100 is not a good cooler, I would suggest getting a Cryorig M9 Plus instead

  1. downgrade cpu to i5-9600k or upgrade to i9-9900k. the performance difference between all 3 cpu’s is so minimal that $200 is not worth it unless you have A LOT of money to spend.

  2. get a more reliable cpu cooler. if your thinking air cooling, noctua will not let you down. for aio - almost anything from the corsair hydro series will work perfectly fine. the h80i works incredibly, and so does h100 and similar titles. my friend got this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DV29GYN/ref=asc_df_B07DV29GYN6001508?tag=georiot-us-default-20&ascsubtag=tomshardware-1840615343361253505-20. it has high-quality rgb (which means more fps) and it runs super quietly at freezing temps. it won’t let you down.

  3. your ram is still blazing fast compared to the rest of the build, but it sorta slouches. you should upgrade to 3200mhz asap or even faster if you can (keep in mind latency).
u/x3lr4 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

No RGB? Why not this cooler? Cooling performance will increase. It has 50% more radiator and fans, but don't expect cooling to be 50% better. Maybe 20-30%.

There's a significant performance boost with fast RAM on Ryzen. Actually it's the one thing that has the most impact on performance. Much more than overclocking. There's a cheaper path with Micron E-die RAM that you have to manually overclock and it doesn't have RGB.

The Sabrent Rocket is the cheapest SSD out of the very fast ones. And opposed to something like Intel's 660p, it has TLC NAND, instead of QLC.

u/AwwLurker · 2 pointsr/sffpc

I have mostly the same setup as yours.

I initially wanted to do air cooling on the A50, but from my research, even with the best cooler that will fit the case, the NH-L12s, a 3900x will max out on temp at stock config while rendering.

I'm not that comfortable with high heat, so I went ahead and ordered an A60 instead and opted to watercool with a refurbished H100i to save on cost.

Ya very nice specs!

I mean you can get this. It’s exactly made for your pc and was what I got. But this will be a horizontal mount. If you want vertical like mine you will have to buy a vertical mount kit (I got a phantom one) and will have to bend your own tubes to fit. I took my pc to Microcenter and had them redo the tubes for me form$150. But I don’t have the time nor desire to learn to bend and buy all the stuff involved for 2 tubes lol.

The new Deepcool AIOs have an Anti-Leak Technology, how well it works is still too early to say but at least that's something. Only air coolers won't leak.

u/Bantitan · 2 pointsr/Amd

I've seen some reviewers use the Deepcool Castle 360EX. It has a square base for the chip and temps are really nice apparently.

I’m not sure how a cooler even works without RGB though.

Did find this on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Liquid-Freezer-All-One/dp/B07WP6M7P7

u/Retrosmith · 1 pointr/watercooling

I've had nothing but good luck with all of Alphacool's reservoirs. This one is a dual-bay design, made to house a D5, and has enough ports to do just about anything you want.

Not the cheapest, but the cheapest is likely an XSPC, and I personally stay away from any of their reservoirs that aren't glass.

Any chance you could use one their Photon tube res/pump combos?

u/FastRedPonyCar · 1 pointr/watercooling

Ok. If I wanted to stick with an all in 1 res+ pump, would something like this be ok if I combined both loops?

http://www.amazon.com/XSPC-Photon-Reservoir-Vario-Combo/dp/B00FJHFQ1M/ref=pd_cp_pc_3

And for the GPU's, I would get that double thick 140mm that I listed in the OP and another single 120mm rad.

Or is there any real benefit to physically separating the pump from the res? I'm just approaching this from a simplicity/efficiency standpoint. The XSPC optical bay mounted res and pump combo has been really nice in that regard.

u/Meleemonkee · 1 pointr/watercooling

What about this my guy

u/Gringochuck · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

The rule of thumb with regards to water cooling is N+1, N being the number of devices you'll be cooling. In this case you will be cooling the GPU and the CPU, so you will want at least 3 120 raditors. The combination doesn't matter, just as long as the total size of all the radiators equals 360 or greater.

With regards to the pump/res combo, I use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FJHFQ1M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. It is currently pumping water through 1 360 rad and 1 280 rad and it does a very nice job.

With regards to tubing I would go to EKWB. All of their tubing is plasticizer free, meaning the water won't strip the instead of the tube and gunk up your water blocks. Here is a link to their tubing selection, https://www.ekwb.com/shop/accessories/tubing/10-13mm-3-8-1-2-tubing.

Here is my setup, http://i.imgur.com/LKdjZyD.jpg. Hit me up if you have any more questions.

u/Bi-Polar-Bob · 1 pointr/watercooling

Sorry yes - the XSPC D5 Photon 170.

Here

I did bleed the loop, no bubbles, and flow rates are good though not as good as I'd like, even perfectly clean my CPU block restricts a lot of water flow.

I didn't realize the D5 is a heat-source in and of itself... Will have to adjust my loop accordingly.

u/Kerolyte · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Here is the list of compatible water coolers if you want to hunt for a cheaper or different option than the h55:

https://www.nzxt.com/products/kraken-g10-white

The EVGA hybrid option is now available as well:

http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=400-HY-5188-B1

This option is aesthetically nice and clean but at $120+plus and tax and shipping it's pretty expensive.

I can post pics of mine soon. Install is pretty straight forward, it can feel a bit nerve-racking at times taking a gpu apart but it's not as bad as you would think.

u/Tollowarn · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

When it comes to AIO water cooling a GPU it's down to cost. The cheapest AIO is going to to cost more than a heat pipe air cooler. As such they only fit them to the most expensive cards.

There is nothing stopping you fitting one yourself. Sometimes I wish graphics card makers would sell you the naked card without a cooler so you could fit what you want.

u/cdurkinz · 1 pointr/watercooling

Your EVGA reference GTX 980 should work with that Corsair HG10 N980 no problem. The reference PCB is the reference PCB, and you have the reference PCB lol. If that makes sense...

If you are really worried about it there is always the Kraken G10 but I'm literally 99.9% positive that the Corsair bracket will fit your PCB.

u/purtymouth · 1 pointr/PcMasterRaceBuilds

After some more research, I think I'll wait for the GTX1080. Depending on how loud it is, I may add this for liquid cooling. Otherwise, 120 mm radiators on the top and front with a 3 fan system (front and side intake, rear exhaust).

u/SimpleJoint · 1 pointr/nvidia

G10

kraken x31

Is what I used.

u/Cindex9183 · 1 pointr/buildapc

The only problem I see at all is the case. I'd prefer something with a front intake. The front to back always works good for me keeping ambient down, especially air cooling.

My only other thought would be WC. My only TR builds I've done I threw in water-cooling and never ever worried about temps with a decent sized rad with 4 or 6 fans. Not really that much more expensive.

https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Ultimate-Aluminum-Enthusiast-CL-W007-PL12BL/dp/B00MPIDYTO/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=water+cooling+tr4&qid=1551395579&s=gateway&sr=8-5

u/Javild · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

I recommend it because even though I haven’t tried it myself, it is considered one of the best X399 motherboards by several trusted reviewers. After some research, I have found that the cooler I chose will not be appropriate for that CPU and I am working on fixing that, here is a better one that is compatible.

Edit: Here is a review

u/jvjordanvapes · 1 pointr/electronic_cigarette

This Thermaltake water 3.0

Or this Corsair h115I I am just wondering if the thermaltake will fit a 1151 socket, if it does I want to go with that.

u/anonymous_3125 · 1 pointr/watercooling

that's the problem... i did ALL of that EXCEPT sand the tube and I doubt sanding the tube will even help that much. I tried soap also, took the exact same force to get it in. Also I use this chamfering tool https://www.amazon.ca/Thermaltake-PACIFIC-Mandrel-Computer-CL-W093-AL00BL/dp/B01BX3EZUI

u/n00blets · 1 pointr/watercooling

I appreciate the kind words and am flattered by the idea of being a source of inspiration having been inspired myself. I think that the attention to detail came from a prioritization of form over function. There are subtle hints to this fact scattered throughout the build, the most obvious of which is using the GPU waterblock outlet as the inlet. While the reverse flow through the block will probably cost me a degree or two in terms of performance, it also allowed me to shorten up my runs and stick to the minimalist aesthetic.

As for your questions, the tube cutter and chamfer tool were part of a hard tube bending kit manufactured by Thermaltake. I originally got it for the bending mandrels, but the radii on the bends were too wide and I ended up getting tighter bends doing it by hand. I do live Stateside so most of the loop components were ordered through Performance PCs, MAINFrame Customs (EKWB vendor), and Amazon with the exception of the GPU waterblock and backplate which came directly from EKWB. While I can't speak to the quality of Cablemod cables, I can say that Ensourced provides artisan quality paracord sleeved cables. Based on my observations over time, they seem to be held in high regard and their price seems to reinforce the notion of premium quality.

u/CJ_Guns · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Your bends are perfect. Are you just an experienced builder (well obviously you have to be to produce something of this caliber) and eyeballed them; or do you use a tubing bending kit?

I'm just about to embark on my first WC foray and I wanna know if the cost is justified for 90°/135°/etc. guides like these. Seems to me it's a bit expensive for the physical value, but it does seem like a good idea.

They make a hybrid cooler for the gpu if you're super worried. I have one on mine and my temps are super low. Really easy to put on too. This is what I'm talking about.

Edit: Though now that I take two seconds to think, that may not be compatible with the Asus variant...

u/Pyromonkey83 · 1 pointr/nvidia

So the SC line have the same PCBs as reference 1070Tis. As a result, the EVGA Hybrid cooler would work if you wanted to do that conversion. It would also probably look the best in terms of uniformity.

Alternatively, you can use the NZXT Kraken G12 and pick any AIO you want to go with it (Corsair H55 is a good choice).

u/NefariousPilot · 1 pointr/IndianGaming

The cheapest would be Arctic Accelero which can keep the 1080 TI within 65c at max OC. Then there's EVGA Hybrid which probably would perform slightly better than Arctic with regards to temps. If you aren't planning to add a custom water loop in the future, I'd recommend returning the FE and getting a aftermarket card like FTW3 or Strix. If returning isn't possible, you can go with the Arctic or Evga cooler depending on your budget. They both would be a pain to install though.

I've been pondering all week and researching a bit but I feel like I'm overthinking. I'll start with specs (in order of importance to this) and tell you what's happening.

  • i7-8086K, BK-009 150w tower cooler (swapping for this liquid cooler tomorrow.)
  • Thermaltake View 31 Case.
  • Asus Prime Z370-A
  • Gigabyte Windforce OC GTX1070
  • 16GB Gskill TridentZ 3200MHz, 32GB Optane
  • Thermaltake TR-2 600w (swapping out for this one, it's 750w tomorrow.)
  • I won't bore you with storage unless you really want me to.

I got a better job recently and upgraded some parts on an aging rig, now I'm just being an effing dweeb and seeing how low I can get my temps because for some reason that's my idea of fun. So I'm putting this liquid cooler in tomorrow and I've decided to go with the top for mounting, I also want to keep my air pressure positive.

Question is, I have 3 case fans at the moment (2 front intake, 1 rear outtake) and will have 3 more pointing out from the cooler in addition the rear exhaust. All that said: should I point the rear exhaust in? I kind of don't want to because those riing fans don't look as nice backwards, but I'm open to it. I was actually thinking of going the route of fans pointing in from the bottom (the filter on the bottom is excellent) especially to point up at my GPU, which I've mounted vertically. My thinking was to push cool air up and in, then let the heat rise out. My two spinner drives are mounted vertically so fans in the bottom should keep those nice and chilly as well.

TL;DR should I have more fans pointing in than out of the case, or is it that it doesn't matter, and I'm overthinking it?

  1. First thing to note, the two boards are at the same price and both offer WiFi. I realize upon a second glance that they both have M.2 heat spreaders, so that argument is irrelevant now. They both have 14 phase power delivery, so overclocking on them is going to be very similar as well. Here are the differences; none are major, but a lot of it comes down to preference:
    1. The Aorus board has an integrated I/O shield, which saves you the hassle of having to install one in the case.
    2. The ASUS board supports RAM up to 4400 MHz, compared to 4000 MHz on the Aorus board. It shouldn't make a difference if you're running 3600 MHz RAM, and once speeds get higher, we'll likely be on a new generation of motherboards anyways.
    3. The ASUS board has USB Type C on the rear I/O, whereas the Aorus board doesn't.
    4. RGB lighting is up to taste.

The main reasons for choosing each motherboard seem to be:

  • Aorus - integrated I/O shield
  • ASUS - Type C on rear I/O

  1. Water cooling is not hard to set up. I'd argue that the CPU heatsink for water cooled AIO's is easier to install than air cooling because the block itself is smaller. However, you also have to mount a radiator - it's not that much more work since you should be installing fans normally. You just use longer screws for both the fan and radiator. All in all, a little more work for water-cooled CPU cooling.

2b. The Deepcool Castle 360 is a great price for similar performance to the Corsair H150i, one of the most reliable AIO's. Additionally, the NZXT Kraken x62 (280mm) or x72 (360mm) is very good for performance and is the best-looking AIO, although it's quite expensive and the software used to get a lot of complaints (idk about now). I'd stray away from Enermax coolers for now - they tend to get clogged within a year of operation.

Are there any good white CPU coolers? I recently sold some unrelated items on ebay and have some extra money and was thinking of getting some PC components.

I have a white build that is a Ryzen 7 7200x running at at stock in Corsair Carbide 275R, which has a solid front panel ontop of a mesh filter So i've been thinking about the CPU cooler.

As you can see from the photo I've got 2 EK Vardar white fans are intake at the front and 3 Corsair LL120s as exhaust (2 top, 1 rear)

I was looking at the Corsair H500i platnium AIO but i have absolutely no experience with water cooling and would be super cautious about that, especially on a noise level and "what if it fails" worry

I also found this DeepCool CPU cooler

Amazon sells one for 75 dollars so right in your budget range. Corsair H100i

u/Mimtos · 1 pointr/buildapc

The h100i is on sale right now or I think it's refurbished? Evga CLC 240 is a better choice than the coolermaster.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PCRPX6J/ref=dp_cr_wdg_tit_rfb Corsair h100i pro. Amazing price, amazing performance imo. Normally $140 usd but amazon has one for $100 renewed, which is the link I sent you. Let me know if you need a bet tree r one or a cheaper one

u/uradonkey003 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Why not this one? If your case can take the 280 mm radiator and 2 x 140 mm fans then I would go for it.

Is the Hyper 212 not performing well? You may just have to replace the thermal paste.

AIOs are cool and free up a lot of space within the case for memory clearance and aesthetics.

Question about fans...I snagged the Corsair H100i RGB on Prime day. Trying to plan out the rest of my fan purchases. Was looking at this bundle but wasn't sure if anything else would be needed to sync everything up given some of the language in the description. Just want to confirm that I'd be good with that 3 pack + controller, or if I'd need any additional hardware. Thanks!

Because I switch gears from a RGB showcase to performance, I went with a Corsair H115i RGB Platinum but swapped out the ML140 fans for Nauctua ones. If you are into RGB, go with the Corsair H100i RGB Platinum SE, it fits the build perfectly.

Thank you so much for your help :)

Not sure how to tell if it's the H100i v2, but I bought this one since it was only $118. It comes with the LL120s which I've heard do pretty great. I have a couple of ML140s on the front of the case that I like that haven't been too loud yet that I've noticed. None of the fans in my system currently ramp up too loud, though.

My board is an ROG Crosshair VIII Hero and it looks like I have plenty of headers. Right now, I've got three 140mm, and 120mm, and the CPU cooler connected. I have one fan header free and two sets of AIO pump headers.

I think I'll probably look around a bit. I like the look and idea of the hybrid kit, but the short warranty, high cost, and 120mm set up make me want to look more. I'd like to get a 240mm for the noise level and for the possibility of upgrading down the road. The majority of my build was built with upgrading down the road in mind.

Thanks again for your help. You've really made this easier on me.

Also, found this while searching for the XL:

Lian Li Case with front distro

It's slightly cheaper at microcenter at $449 but this is the bundle i bought. If you go with different components than what EKWB recommends you will have to bend your own tubes or buy different water blocks depending on the components you choose

u/Quasimotherfucker · 1 pointr/watercooling

yeah, I asked because that one looks almost exactly like the one EK makes for their Power Spec Fluid Gaming case on amazon. Too much money, especially since it's just an aluminium rad. Thanks for the tip, though, I hadn't seen bitspower's plate!

So I am setting up watercooling almost when I get the card, I am leaning towards the fe, I know it will work. I can overclock it myself and the fe cover will be a cool shelf peice. Here is the case/waterblock I have just want to confirm it will fit.

Deepcool has this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S1SQDDJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_iFbkDbSSNQY4C which the pump is addressable but no rgb fans. They are kinda purging their old line as they revamp and release new versions. Other stores may have them still if you research.
Corsair does have this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JWB5BSN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_RIbkDbHRKS356 but it is pricier, although much higher quality, mostly in terms of visuals.

Has anyone tried the DEEPCOOL Castle 240EX with TR4? It states it’s TR4 compatible but I’m not sure that it covers the entire IHS...?

Asus Ryujin/Ryuo + Review

Ryujin is pricey at $210 but it comes with 2 noctua fans. Quiet stuff. There is a $185 Ryuo too but that is louder and ever so slightly hotter. Two very unique AIOs with OLED screens.

Deepcool Castle

This is Aura compatible and personally I think it's one of the best looking aios. More budget friendly as well.

Having only one RGB ecosystem is really important makes changing your build look sooo much easier. Now I firmly believe that Corsair's iCue is much better than Aura, but Aura is compatible with a lot more stuff, including mobos.

u/k-ozm-o · 1 pointr/hackintosh

Late to the party, but it's a Deepcool AIO. I would suggest getting the newer version only because I've heard of people having issues with the former leaking.

Sure. It’s the new Deepcool Castle. Mine is 360mm but they have other variants as well

The straighter the better. That looks close enogh though. Also depends on your fittings. I prefer a tubing cutter. Perfectly square every time.

u/Magnezone13 · 0 pointsr/Corsair

Check out the Thermaltake Riing Trio. They're quite expensive, but they are the only fans I know of that are in direct competition with the LLs while remaining Aura Sync capable. In my opinion, the Thermaltake fans look a lot better than the LLs too, especially in situations where you would be seeing the back of the fan. To use Aura with these, you'll need a TT Sync Controller to go along with the fans.

>In general I wouldn't mind too much since my time in figuring out how to get this stuff to work isn't free either.

You must make a lot per hour then.

>Almost all of those are overblown and/or still much better than closest windows competitors. You can get any battery to last 1/3 as long depending on workload etc.

Apple charge $90-$200 for fan replacements, not including the cost of shipping it to them for the repair

Meanwhile you can get the highest quality liquid cooling fans on the market for ~$180
