Drift Studio is a new design firm with roots in the University of Wisconsin at Madison art department. The principals are artists, entrepreneurs and makers on a mission to build a business that values the creative spirit, makes thoughtful, innovative products with a conscience, and provides its creative team with the means to do what they love.
Drift’s flagship design, the Riff System, is a modular design method that that lets you build an unlimited number of customized storage and shelving solutions out of easily assembled square and double-square panels. Panels come in assorted natural and printed finishes and surface textures that give variety to every piece.
Should you ever want to change your design, simply disassemble the components and re-attach them in a different configuration.
Drift has also designed several preconfigured pieces, such as this handsome Blanket Chest, which is imprinted with a map of MODULE R’s Brownstone Brooklyn neighborhood. Flap stays keep the lid open and side vents help everything inside stay fresh (ok, maybe not that cheese sandwich your kid left inside!).
