The chair design is stylish and elegant, and it goes nicely with the Nelson swag leg desk and tables in home offices and dining areas.
This classic design is at home in any kind of interior. Is it comfortable? It is. Very. It’s also strong and durable, so it fits the way you live now.
Strong, Stylish, Comfortable

When George Nelson decided to use separate pieces for the seat and back of this chair, he created a design that lets the chair flex as the sitter moves. A slit between the seat and back helps prevent heat build-up. Wide, flat arms provide a comfortable resting place for your arms.

The look is light-scaled, sculpted, and delicate, but the base is strong—16-gauge steel–and the recyclable polypropylene shell stands up to long-term use.
What’s a Swag Leg?

We named this furniture group for the process that created the distinctive legs because designer George Nelson started with this idea: “Wouldn’t it be beautiful to have some kind of sculptured leg on a piece of furniture?” But he was using industrial materials. How could he create a sculpted leg without wood and hand-carving tools?

Swaging is the use of pressure to taper and curve a metal tube. George Nelson found that this process was the best way to create the legs he had envisioned. He applied the gracefully curving, extremely strong legs not only to this chair, but also to a desk and several dining tables.
