These xl+ nylon headbands are specifically increased in thickness vs our standard xl for ideal tension in face masks. Our standard xl bands are typically used as nylon headbnands for bow attachments for babies and children, and are made to hold very light tension. To increase the tension of the material, i made the standard band thicker specifically for those who buy this listing, resulting in the xl+ band. The standard xl bands in my shop are thinner and aren’t optimized for holding face masks tightly, although some customers have said they used them successfully for masks. a similar tightness to folded elastic can be achieved by using about 30% less length of nylon than what you would use of folded elastic. Be sure to test the tightness for your mask design.
