I have one of these on my truck. It's a keyed lock that prevents the tailgate from being removed but still allows the tailgate to open and close. Much handier than locking and unlocking the handle every time and more secure than a hose clamp. Also no tools required to remove the tailgate. Only $20

Foot pegs will change your life.

I got some MOLLE seat covers that I enjoy, having pouches to keep things attached down with the doors off is key.

Shorty antenna. Same radio quality, only 5" long.

Bikini top is nice but personal preference really.

Flip open key is more comfortable in pocket.

This is it, they also sell it on extreme terrain for 20 dollars more. The only downside I found to putting this on is the connectors for your fog lights don't reach once extended and I had to rewire them. Wasn't too bad though all in all took about 2 hours maybe a little less.

Edit: figured out how to actually link things!

This is the EX-L model - Sports come with the middle exhausts but all of the hatches have hidden dual exhausts - I added some tips I got from Amazon.

I bought this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073BXJRD7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_x1M3AbMK3J8QS

I had to trim off the two large tabs at the top. Not sure if that’s a Titanium thing or not but it fit perfectly once I did that.

u/jSizzle74 · 3 pointsr/Columbus

Once you hopefully find it or worse have to buy a new one. I recommend one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Master-Lock-8253DAT-Stainless-Tailgate/dp/B007OSL3DY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1487945198&sr=8-2&keywords=ford+f150+tailgate+lock

I have one on my 2012 F150. Sure it isn't THAT difficult to get through, but anything that makes it take longer to take a tailgate figured could only help.

u/fluxmaven · 3 pointsr/Miata

18's on a NA are about the equivalent of 26's on a Caprice.

The day after I bought my car, a hard top popped up for $750 about 2 hours away. It sold before I had time to check it out, and I haven't seen another below $1200.

Best bet for now, would probably be to just get a cheapo soft top to get you by until you come across a decent hard top.

I don't have this, but have seen people recommend it. Seems about the cheapest you are going to find with a preinstalled rain rail

Have you tried an aftermarket seal like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N1DXSH5

I felt that most mirror options specifically made for Jeeps were overpriced or heard they don't work too well.

So I found this on 4x4xplor.com.

Parts needed:

  • 4-1/2"x6" Fit System Blind Spot Mirror - CL062E (~$12 on Amazon)
  • 1 - 3/8" x 2" Bolt (per side)
  • 1 - 3/8" Nut
  • 1 - 3/8" Washer
  • 2 - Nylon Washers
  • 13mm Socket
  • 12mm Wrench
  • 9/16" Socket & Wrench
  • Ratchet
  • Bench Vice

It's pretty simple and works great. Just bend the arms, put the bolts and washers through, and put it on your Jeep. I did have to make the holes for the bolt a little bigger which was not mentioned.

I've gone up to 70mph and they have not moved. They will bob up and down when going over bumps though, but it's not bad.
u/calotron · 3 pointsr/Honda

Not standard no, but I think they make the car look a little more sporty.

Here's a link to the actual product on Amazon.

The wind noise and the reverse camera delay are my two biggest complaints. Reverse camera delay is software related so that will likely get fixed in the coming months.

I have purchased both this basenor wind reduction kit and this wind guard which seem to help a little but I think most of the noise is coming through the front windshield somehow.

u/ibeetmyyeet · 3 pointsr/Miata

I did it in an afternoon. Technically its not complex, the riveting is interesting, but doable with a youtube tutorial. I followed this tutorial for the entire project. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lV_3HJt2_Uk

I would recommend having a friend because stretching the new material is difficult to do on your own. I would also recommend buying a roof with a rain rail installed, as I can imagine it would be a pita.

Finally it took a while for me for my fabric to be pliable enough to get the rain rail fastened in. I actually tightened it first without the metal rails that hold in place, and then as it heated up with the sun I was slowly but surely able to get it completely on.

This is the one I got https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FKHDYZK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and its been fairly nice for about a month now.

If you are buying it with the frame, it would be a cake walk

tailgate I got this on amazon for $60. It really has come in handy.

u/conturax · 3 pointsr/4Runner

Here ya go. Install took me 30 mins. 5 bolts into the preexisting holes from the factory. Where's the pic of your truck??

Yeah, I'm really happy with it! And this is the one I bought. It arrived like 4 days after ordering:

u/howdyfrickindo · 2 pointsr/infiniti

I have a q50 so the part could be different but on my car they are held on with the plastic push anchor things- black "washer" with insertable portion and a center part that expands the washer and is removed with a flat head.
They are all over the car, for a temporary fix I'd check the engine bay over your radiator area, there should be about a million of them holding the ram-air-box-cover-majigger in place. also probably some in your trunk.
This is them but I'd be willing to bet a dealer will replace it for free.

Edit: pretty sure it's Part No. 01553-2DR9A but it'll set you back a pretty penny- 11 of them to be exact, haha

I bought this grill:
Ford Fusion 2013-2016 Gloss Black Front Bumper Honeycomb Mesh Grill https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073BXJRD7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_elyyCbZMKM896

I'm not mechanically inclined at all and it took me two hours. I followed a YouTube that walked me through it. Overall it was very easy. If I did it again it would likely take me 45 min - 1 hr now that I know the general steps.

There's a couple lugs inside the wheel well you have to remove that are a huge pain in the ass to remove while the tire is on. The video I followed recommended removing the tire to get to the nut but I managed to do it without doing that.

It was completely worth it, I think the car looks much sexier now.

I have these on my TJ. I just recommend replacing the giant hand-turned bolts with some hex head bolts, as they are easier to get really tight (the size you will need is M8-1.25, but I can't remember how long it needs to be). The ones that come with it are hard to tighten and may result in your mirrors folding back in at highway speeds. Aside from that, they are pretty sturdy. Took them out on the trail and even with all the shit that hit them, they didn't even bend.

u/subzero800 · 2 pointsr/cars

> The brake and accelerator in the Si aren't close enough for heel-toe'ing to work comfortably (as far as I can tell)

Yeah I have a '15 Si (coupe) as well...it can be done if you can stretch a bit. It could probably be done on track easier because you'd be threshold braking and really getting that brake pedal closer to the distance that the gas pedal is.

I've thought about getting one of these after seeing the recommendation on the 9thgencivic forum:

https://www.amazon.com/RAZO-RP82A-Sport-Accelerator-Large/dp/B000CPCQHS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1375833995&sr=8-3&keywords=razo+pedal

It does look a bit janky though :-/ I asked Matt Farah about the 9th gen pedal spacing and he said he doesn't have a problem heel-toeing but he's much more practiced than most people.

I too have a 2015 RT Plus Shaker. And back in January I did the swap.

You'll find lower prices on other sites, but then their shipping is outrageous. That site has the lowest price when shipping is figured in.

and here's some other things you will need to get the job done

S&G Tool Aid 19400 Rivet Tool for Plastic Rivet https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007QV2E50?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf You will need at least 35 of these rivets. Just get the 100 piece package as you will waste some of them. They're cheap enough anyway.

PartsSquare 100pcs Fender Liner Fastener Rivet Push Clips Retainer for Chrysler Dodge Jeep https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B2RC6WY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_TssiAbG4Q20VM

You may need some of these as well. It's not a bad idea to use them inside the wheel well so that future removals are much easier.

GOOACC Nylon Bumper Fastener Rivet Clips Automotive Furniture Assembly Expansion Screws Kit Auto Body Clips 8mm - 40PCS https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008427D88/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_aldZPoDPnRuY6

You will also need some trim removal tools if you don't have them already. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L8GHB7O?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

You will also need a deep 10mm socket like this and a long extension for the nuts inside the wheel wells. TEKTON 14191 3/8-Inch Drive by 10 mm Deep Socket, Cr-V, 6-Point https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000NY6RBY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_jCsiAb5EZJ4V3

here's Mopar's instruction for removing the front fascia: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lxe8evqu87l517u/Front%20fascia%20removal.pdf?dl=0 It's much easier to put on the new lip with the fascia off. And I'll warn you that getting the old lip off is a bitch.

It would be another little box that will probably need power, but your other option is an Optical TosLink to Analogue Stereo DAC... Cheapish ones go for £10 here in the UK... It'll take care of component or headphones.

Unless you're powder coating, I'd leave calipers alone. The paint never lasts as long as they're advertised to. Besides, the grey/silver calipers look nice even if left stock.

(relatively) inexpensive mods I've done:

  • Window tint; not only looks good, but saves you $$$ over time as your car uses less energy to keep the cabin cool
  • if you have aero wheels, you can take off the hubcap and cover the center hole and lugnuts with a kit that costs $50 from Tesla.
  • Might be placebo, but I believe this helps wind noise:
    https://www.amazon.com/AY-Customs-Windshield-Dampening-Reduction/dp/B07N1DXSH5
RPMTesla makes one too, but costs more and they have less than stellar customer service, according to this sub.
  • Full chrome delete may be pricey if you pay someone else, but there are inexpensive wrap for just the door handles on amazon, and are easy to install. Your hands will thank you on hot sunny days.
  • Tesla's paint repair kit. It's a great kit and I've already repaired several rock chips on the side panels, hood and front bumper and they disappeared completely. Follow their video instructions. You'll never consider an expensive wrap after learning how to do this properly.
  • Not exterior, but /u/kenriko's excellent center console wrap really transforms the fingerprint-magnet interior.

The one I bought:

I just ran a line from the pcv to the “in” on the catch can then from “out” into the intake. Mounted in to the power steering bracket. Considering doing something with the rear line as well but everyone seems decisive with how to install a catch can.

These may have slightly lower quality welds, measurements, etc - they're hand made in China - but they generally seem to work. D-ring mounts are probably the weakest point. Check out the reviews on Amazon. Consider swapping whatever cheap hardware they give you with some grade 5 or 8 fasteners instead.

If you want laser cut precision, it'll cost a bit more than double.

Keep in mind it's 81 pounds forward of the front wheels - there may be enough sag on the springs to need something like the Teraflex leveling kit. If you put a winch on it, it'll double the weight and you'll lose at least an inch or more.

u/doublemintben · 1 pointr/MechanicAdvice

You could probably use something like a christmas tree fastener, or plastic rivets. There are push type plastic rivets and ones that require a special riveting tool to use. I know early 2000's on Chrysler loves using plastic rivets. My old 97 grand prix had some of the christmas tree fasteners holding plastic parts to metal similarly to that, so that would be my first guess.

Edit: looks like they might use something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Nissan-Universal-Fender-Retainers-Diameter/dp/B0093RRSXS Those are like the push pin styled rivets I was talking about. Scrolling down in the QA section, it looks like they fit an 10 splash shield. You'd want to measure the hole size and get the appropriate sized fastener.

u/hqtitan · 1 pointr/Jeep

I'm running this on mine. I did have to grind about a 1/4" channel in the bracket for the lip on the windshield frame as well as elongate both holes by about 1/8" to get it to fit, though.

It vibrates a bit and has a bit of a whistle above 40mph, but I can't hear the whistle once I get above 50 anyway.

u/samsaBEAR · 1 pointr/xboxone

As a note on the older headsets, like the X12, I found more success in using a RCA to Optical adapter like this, and a spare optical cable to link it all up. You'll obviously need the Chat Adapter to get chat audio to come through, but both my friends use this setup with their X12s and they haven't had any problems.

The mirror is 8 dollars from O'reiley auto parts, Just take the bottom bracket as shown the pic below and bend it to a 45 degree angle, buy a 5/16 bolt and run that through the door hinge and bolt it to the mirror bracket on the side you bent. Take off that rubber clamp shown in the picture. I will post a how to album if people would need.

I bought a set of regular (but Chinese fake "red top") coils from Amazon for $80. They work great. You should pull a coil and see if oil is in the plug well since that's super common. Easy to replace the valve cover gaskets which cause that. You should check the half Moon gasket on the driver side for leaks which is common and change it at the same time. That's a little more involved since it requires a special tool to compress the cam chains tensioner and lift it up. Kits tend to be bundled with the tool but you gotta be careful with it because they are cheap plastic and can break.

I wouldn't recommend the catch can I bought since it is a leaky POS. The one that comes with the kit looks like good quality but it's quite expensive.

I have that bumper, and just ordered another one for a friend of mine. It's a great bumper. Easy install, and you can re-use your factory fog lights without any real problem. I have a winch mounted on mine, as well as an LED lightbar.

FYI...there are a couple of manufacturers that sell what appears to be an exact duplicate of this bumper. I don't know if one factory in China makes them all and they just get sold under different brands. The Extreme Terrain variation certainly has outstanding reviews, but so does the same bumper from EAG which you can get for $30 less. Also note that Extreme Terrain will give you a discount if you message their rep on Wrangler Forum. When I ordered this exact bumper last week, they only gave me a 6% discount which didn't get the price down to the EAG version, but I bought from them anyway because they've been good to me in the past. FWIW, I also have an EAG bumper and have nothing but good things to say about their quality...but as far as I know, EAG is mail-order only so I'm not even sure how you'd go about dealing with any problem that you might encounter...with Extreme Terrain you can just call them up.

If you have a TJ or jk, I like the rugged ridge mirrors. They come in round or square and the brackets boot to the existing windshield holes.
