General Storage:

Get a big storage box, one of the ones that looks like this. (Not recommending that particular one, just an example of the style I'm talking about.) You'll probably be traveling with this, for furcons and such, so make sure it fits in the trunk of your car and/or meets the requirements for a checked bag on your airline of choice. I also highly recommend getting one with wheels so it doesn't take both hands and brute strength to move it around.

Head Storage:

Get one of these styrofoam heads, and keep your fursuit head on it. I got one for a buck or two from a nearby Ulta. This will keep the inside in shape. If your real-life head is bigger than the styrofoam one, you can bulk it out some with duct tape and scrap cardboard. Wherever you keep your fursuit head, make sure it's not squished at all. If your box is big enough, you can just leave it in there. I keep mine on top of a bookshelf.

Bodysuit Storage:

You want to hang your bodysuit up. If you fold it, the fur can get kinked, and it will never brush out soft and smooth again. I use one of these wetsuit dryers, and I highly recommend them. It's made for holding heavier clothes than a regular coat hanger, the shoulders are rounded such that you won't stretch it the same way a regular coat hanger would, and, most importantly, it has a built-in fan in the top of it, which really helps your suit dry out before it can get funky. Which leads me to suit care...

Drying:

Getting your suit dry after you use it is really really important. Get a cheapo desk fan ( I have one of these ) and put your head on it after you wear it. (Without the styrofoam wig head inserted, of course.) Hang the bodysuit up (ideally using the wetsuit dryer mentioned above) and lay the paws and miscellaneous bits out where they can dry. Never EVER just take the suit off and leave it in a pile, or stuff it in your box. Stuff will grow in it right away, and you will stink to high heaven.

It may be overkill, but I also keep some of these desiccant packs in my box, just to make sure it stays dry.

Sanitizing:

Get a little spray bottle from a drug store and fill it with a 50/50 solution of rubbing alcohol and water. Whenever you take your suit off, spray every surface down with this mixture, especially the inside. This will help keep unpleasant things from growing in it. Don't use undiluted rubbing alcohol, because it will actually evaporate too quick to finish killing everything. Don't use febreeze, perfumes, or other sanitizers. The febreeze and perfumes will just (badly) mask all the nasty smells without killing the source. Other cleaners can leave residue, and most of them you really, really don't want to be breathing in the next time you wear your suit.

Brushing:

You'll want to brush your suit after you wear it, so that the fur doesn't get kinked and you don't look mangy. Get a wire cat brush and run it down the fur with the hooks facing backwards, such that they don't catch. You'll still pull out a little fluff, but it shouldn't be real bad, and you'll end up yanking out a lot more if you let the fur get matted anyway.

Washing:

Washing fursuits is hard, and to be avoided if possible. If your fursuit smells noticeably, you need to wash it, but if you're letting it dry and spraying it with alcohol, you can go a long time before it needs to be washed. Everytime you wash it, you'll inevitably lose a bit of the fluff.

Anything with foam in it is going to be problematic. If parts of your costume are just fur fabric, you can machine-wash them. Washing temperature depends on the fabric your suitbuilder used; consult them, or the store you got the fabric from. Turn the pieces inside-out. To dry, you can machine-dry them on NO HEAT/AIRDRY, or you can hang them up to dry. Never use a dryer with the heat on; it's pretty easy to melt the fur together, ruining the suit. You may be able to get away with the 'low heat' setting, but it's highly dependent on your dryer and the fabric, and I don't suggest risking it.

Pieces that contain foam should be spot-cleaned. (Get a damp washcloth or something and just dab the insides, rinsing the washcloth out repeatedly.) If that's not enough, you can submerge them in your bathtub and do some cleaning there, but don't do so if you don't have to. You run a good chance of messing up your head if you submerge it. Also, it will take a very long time for foam to dry; spray it with the alcohol and use whatever fans you have around to expedite the process. Never machine-dry any foam parts; they'll likely break from the tumbling.

My park bag usually includes:

  • This is the bag I use. It's lightweight, sturdy, stowable, and the perfect size. You can usually find it on sale on Eddie Bauer's website.
  • An extra ziplock bag. (To keep stuff dry)
  • This personal fan for those hot days.
  • A buff.
  • Portable chargers.
  • A mini first aid kit.
  • A small tube of sunscreen.

Some unusual items I usually pack in my suitcase:

  • A surge protector for the hotel room - charging my phone, watch, camera, etc. at the end of the day.
  • This Chafing Relief Gel from Target is a lifesaver on my inner thighs.
u/KindOfBlue123 · 8 pointsr/childfree

I am extremely sensitive to noise. I also work from home, and I'm a severe insomniac as well. I swear by this fan, I run it day and night. My last one lasted many years, and I've just replaced it with the same model a few months ago.

http://www.amazon.com/Lasko-3733-20-Fan-Box/dp/B00002ND67

Since your situation is extremely noisy, more so than mine, it probably won't drown it out completely. You might consider combining with a white noise machine like this, which is also very good:

http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/homedics-reg-deep-sleep-i-bedside-portable-sound-machine/1041703953

Stay away from this product. The noise it generates is a nice quality, but the volume is very low so I find it unhelpful:

http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/marpac-dohm-original-sound-conditioner-trade/3263995

And then you could always add in ear plugs. For me they're uncomfortable, but when I lived in an apartment with a heavy footed large man that didn't seem to have the ability to sit still and a set of kids that ran around like fools, desperate times called for desperate measures.

And perhaps another conversation with the neighbor is in order.

Best of luck to you. You have my utmost sympathy.

I'm in Florida, so I got recommendations for fans and lights.

This is an excellent fan, runs on 6 D batteries. Plus it has a light built in. https://www.amazon.com/O2COOL-Portable-Lighting-Accessories-3-Adjustable/dp/B01H583DJ4

For lights, something like this is good: https://www.amazon.com/Etekcity-Portable-Camping-Lantern-Batteries/dp/B01C5QSENQ
They run off AA batteries. They will light up half a room, easily. And they are easy start: just lift the handle, and they turn on.

Another option for lighting are those battery operated pillar candles. They run on a timer, so 6 on, 18 off. You can set them to turn on at dark and they can run every evening. These are not good for reading, but great for ambience and for getting around the house at night (bathroom, etc). They are very popular around Xmas, and you can usually get them pretty cheap.

u/sixpicas · 6 pointsr/WaltDisneyWorld

> Also, get a water mister fan combo!

I have one of these and love it. It's a little bigger than a deck of cards so easily fits in my bag. Way cheaper and smaller than the ones they sell at the parks.

I've heard people recommend Frogg Toggs too but I've never tried them.

u/Beagle_Bailey · 6 pointsr/preppers

I'm inland Florida, so here are my tips.

Are you near a river that floods? Find out, because inland river flooding is a PITA. Even if you don't get hit, if upriver gets hit, you're going to be hurting.

Inland, you're going to be worried mainly about wind and trees falling, so structure damage and losing power.

This is a tropical storm, so expect several days of really hot, really sunny days after a big wind goes through. The other response covers most of what you need, but the major thing missing is ways of getting cool. Most modern buildings are built with the expectation of A/C, so they turn into ovens without it.

So here's my recommended list:

  • Big, good cooler. This is where you store your food that you are going to be eating around day 3 and 4.
  • Cheap, styrofoam cooler. This is for drinks for the day of the storm. Also good for condiments for sandwiches: mayo, jam, etc
  • Another cooler, not so nice. This is for day 2 and 3.
  • Even more ice. Stick it in your fridge and freezer and don't open the door until the power comes back on. Once you open the door, you're screwed.
  • LED lights. I use these.
  • Battery powered fans. I use this. It's going to be hot as hell, so you want to be cool.

Avoid candles. It's a heat source that is just going to be making your life miserable.
u/MicrocosmicTiger · 5 pointsr/chicago

On a related note I lived near the freight lines near Humboldt Park a few years back and the whistle always seemed to be going when I was trying to sleep. It took a few weeks to stop noticing it.
As far as extraneous noises go (loud roommates, etc.) this fan has been a godsend:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N0LQJN6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_-SH4CbZ3QKXYS
I would consider trying it out. Just enough white noise to drown out most annoyances.

u/petekeller · 5 pointsr/homegym

This bad boy on repeat is in my HEAVY rotation:
BELIEVE in BARBELL

And my favorite lifting power song is Closer by NIN... NSFW. Holy shit, that music video is soooooooo mid 90's NIN. Ha! Maybe you just had to be there....

Unexpected items for my garage gym. Ha! Here are a few things that provided me much more pleasure than I thought they would:

  • My wife made me buy a fan for our garage gym. I delayed and fought, then finally installed it. I use it every day!

  • This electric leaf blower is the shit. I love it. Hint: Buy it from Home Depot, not AMZ

  • Man, our EZ curl Axle is so much fun

  • I do NOT have this in my garage gym, but I installed an Assault Air Runner in our Fringe gym, and I use it a lot more than I thought I would (I am a trail runner by choice).
u/Teerlys · 5 pointsr/preppers

There are limited options to deal with the heat, especially when trying to sleep. I'm in the north and think it sucks in the upper 80's. You guys further south must really be suffering. So this is what I was able to put together.

  • Cheap

If it's not too humid you can snag yourself and your family Arctic Ties. I've used these before and, when tied around your neck after absorbing water, they really do help. You can also use things like wet handkerchiefs, spray bottles, and even get yourself a hand fan.

Alternately, you could try dampening a top sheet and laying under that if it's dry enough to evaporate. Also, if there's a breeze, supposedly hanging a wet sheet a little ways in front of the window will help, though I can't vouch for that one personally.

Lastly, if you have a finished underground basement, check on what the temp is like down there. Even partial submergence underground and the fact that heat rises will likely keep it cooler than the first or second floor.

  • Middle Ground

Take a look at adding Camp Fans into the mix. They'll chew through some batteries, but you can bulk up on those ahead of time and make it through without needing major investments. You can also look at oddball solutions like the Chillow (I have no idea if this works well or not)

If you're a do-it-yourself kind of guy, Survival Life has some instructions to a solar powered air conditioner that supposedly outputs air at 65-40 degrees depending on the water temp. Add some ice to that and it could give some nice windows of tolerable temperatures so long as it has power.

  • Expensive

Here you're looking at either/both generators and/or solar. Solar won't do as much if it's solid cloud cover unless you drop some serious dollars on a battery wall, but once that's over you could at least potentially have some power during the day and could charge devices (battery chargers?) to help you get through the night.

It’s a touch of dorky but my family uses those O2Cool neck fans w/ rechargeable AA batteries. Each person then gets their own to use as they wish and they work pretty well.

Mounted above the screen and works great! Has a remote which I can use while running if I need it. Wind coming off this thing feels amazing!

u/hangrycats · 3 pointsr/Menopause

I love that you're trying to help your mom! I regret so much that I wasn't very understanding or patient with my own mom when she was dealing with this.

I definitely agree with the suggestion of a small fan for a bedside table. Here are 2 that I've been using for years, and highly recommend:

https://smile.amazon.com/OPOLAR-Operated-Recahrgeable-Hurricane-Portable/dp/B0749M96XT (The rechargeable batteries are a lifesaver, and it allows me to take the fan with me around the house. And it's great to travel with -- mine has been with me all over the country.)

https://smile.amazon.com/Caframo-7-Inch-White-Chinook-Fan/dp/B0010UPOEQ (This lives on my nightstand, and it's one of my most favorite belongings.)

u/PussyCyclone · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

That's what I came to suggest. Have a little fan like this one clipped somewhere pointing at your face during make-up application and see if that helps.

Also, maybe putting dry shampoo in your hair beforehand will help soak up some of the scalp sweating?

u/Stringmaster29 · 3 pointsr/RATS

most filters, you can clean and use multiple times. a thing i do when theres dust in the air (altho you probably have a ton more), is get one of those standard box fans (like the link below), and hang a damp/wet towel over the back of it. it acts as a pretty good filter, and the towel can be washed endlesly as needed. where do u live exactly?

https://www.amazon.com/Lasko-3733-20-Fan-Box/dp/B00002ND67/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1521529618&sr=8-6&keywords=box+fans

I just used the below fan all weekend and it helped tremendously. Was quiet on low setting so my wife didn’t even know I had it on me till she moved in front of it in the morning. The D batteries mean it is very heavy so for car camping only. I’m still on my first set of batteries and has been out a few times in a year and they still work.

I have used an O2 Cool necklace fan since the DK2 days and it does the trick nicely... It blows air up through the nose gap and keeps my face cool and dry.

6" and 390cfm is a big fan/filter for 54cf is overkill. (I'm using a 4" fan and a cheap filter which is still overkill for two tents at 45cf) Are you sure you need it and, more importantly, that the tent has the proper sized ventilation holes?

Another thing I noticed is that you have 2 mars600. I use one in my 2x2x5 tent and it gives off a good bit of heat. On top of that it takes up nearly the entire width of my tent. I would highly recommend having just one per tent.

Also you need to add a small clip fan for the inside of the tent to circulate air. I recommend this one. It doesn't suck.
>>Avalon 6-Inch Clip-On Fan - Convertible Table-Top & Clip Fan, Fully Adjustable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B012BKZC86/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_CVZBxb1FF1SVE

After that make sure you pick up some flexible ducting at whatever size you decide your fan and filter will be. Get some aluminum foil tape and duct clamps while you're at it so you don't use shitty duct tape that will fail you.

I think mine was a Walmart window fan. It ran about twenty bucks.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EKW4TBK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_IqlYBbZFJ10W2
This is a little more expensive off Amazon, it's very similar. Mine is three speeds, reversible. I keep an empty Gatorade bottle in my box to spay water through when switching colors, and I can watch the spray come out of the top of the bottle and get pulled right into the filter. Get one with multiple speeds.

If I made a new one, I'd either buy a remote controlled fan or put the filter on the side so I could more easily reach it.

The weaker your fan, the larger the box needs to be. Big box won't give the spray a chance to escape before being grabbed by the fan.

It was a slap job, made it in a few minutes and a fast run to the store, and I've never been dissatisfied with it (except having to get up because the on off switch is on the back of my box).

u/Tantheman67 · 2 pointsr/BitcoinMining

Depending on how your window is set up you could use one of these. I just bought one for my S9 and attached it to the screen of an open window (not ideal).

If you are worried about the vent opening you could look at a window vent for a portable A/C unit. Those usually don't have the spring loaded flap and may work with less resistance.

In the past (when i could not put holes in walls and such) I had put my miner as close to the window as possible and ran a window fan like [this] (https://www.amazon.com/Bionaire-BWF0522E-BU-Comfort-Control-Thermostat/dp/B00EKW4TBK/ref=sr_1_3?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1501262568&sr=1-3&keywords=window+fan). It is a bit cheaper than the dryer vent you posted and is useful after the mining stops if needed.

Hope that helps.

u/gooberfaced · 2 pointsr/homeowners

> Do you mean semi-permanently open it and have a fan fitted into it?

How you choose to do it would be up to you and how well you were able to match fan size to window size.
Any way you can exhaust the hot air- getting rid of it and bringing in cool air from other areas in the house is much more efficient that trying to cool air that is already hot down.

Open the window and measure the width and max height you have available then google "window fan" and find the one that matches the size opening most closely. These types of fans typically have side panel extensions to fit odd spaces.

Example here, here, and here.

Without a generator your only option is battery power. A small fan like this one should run for around 40-50 hours on a fully charged car battery.

Reviews on this fan claim it can run up to two nights on six D-cell batteries.

u/acinonyxjubatusrex · 2 pointsr/fursuit

I'm lucky in that my head is very well ventilated, but the stuffiness of breathing in recycled air still gets me, so I understand what you mean. I know some fursuiters who wear a small battery-operated fan like this around their neck and stick it into their muzzle whenever they need a blast of cool air. Is it possible for you to hollow out the snout more and make space to install a fan? Other than that, I'm not really sure what else you could do.

I have a very simple growth space, since most of my orchids are generic NOID. My husband and I share the greenhouse, where he has carnivores plants on the top shelf and I get the bottom shelf for my orchids. We lined our greenhouse with foil to help retain some of the heat and light. We also have the greenhouse set up on an 9(?) hour automatic timer with a monitor that automatically turns on the humidifier if it drops below 60%.

Overall, all the den set up in the back and oncidium, Miltoniopsis & Zygo in the front. The fan is set to the left side of the greenhouse and blowing diagonally across due to a temporary overcrowded greenhouse. I hadn’t figure out where to put my Maui lollipop yet, since it’s so small compare to the other ones

The overall condition is intermediate, humidity 70-80%, temp between 55-80F for night and day difference. The light is about medium shades?

Edit: I can only vouch for these that have the ability to mist water as your body removes heat best by evaporation. Those that can not mist seem like they wouldn't be of too much help, unless you're sweating profusely (which is certainly plausible), since they would just be blowing the same 90 degree heat around.

u/Banana223 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

95 degree ambient temp? That's fucking ridiculous. How do you even survive?

Just... watch your temps and stop playing games if they get to high. CPU shouldn't be over 85C, GPU can probably get up to 95C and still be safe since this is a short-term problem.

It's possible that putting a fan in an open window in your room and blowing air out could make your room cooler. It will pull air from other rooms and remove the hotter air that your PC is producing. But having the window open might just make your room hotter.

A fan like this: http://www.amazon.com/Lasko-3733-20-Fan-Box/dp/B00002ND67

is great for putting in a window.

u/MapleSyrupisLife · 2 pointsr/vandwellers

You don't even need the alternate battery, actually. A rechargeable fan or two and a power bank and a usb port in your car. This does require the vehicle to be running/driving to charge the powerbank, but if you're already driving everyday, shouldn't be a problem.

Someone on this sub recommended this, can't remember who.

Fans will work to lower temp pretty well. I use 2 regular clip on fans, and they'll lower temp 4 degrees or so on my 130 gal (I live in Los Angeles and won't turn AC on until it gets to about 86+ in the house). I know you have a sump so it might not be too bad, but I'd be kind of weary with lids on the top- exchange of gas between the water and air very important for regulating ph and alk. Just some food for thought. Also, if you're concerned about jumping fish, you can get clear netting to make screens for the top. BRS sells DIY kits but you can also get supplies from big box hardware stores.

u/Sabuleon · 2 pointsr/hydro

Put a thermometer at the same height as your plants. I think you'll be surprised how hot it is there, lettuce wants to stick around ~75 F or lower. 4 inches away, that light may be too hot.

If that's the case try adding one of those small portable fans they sell, to cool the tubes. I have one just like that, at the same height as the tubes and pointed at them, and it reduced the temp in there by 3-4 degrees on its own.

u/Notevenspecial · 2 pointsr/HomeImprovement

You can stop the rust and corrosion by spraying clear lacquer over the metal parts before hanging it on the wall.

I'd recommend agricultural fans, but the drawback is that noise is not anything the manufacturer cares about. You want one that is as close to silent as you can get it. Durable but noisy isn't going to cut it for you.

I have two of these:

Cheap plastic everything. Even the gears are nylon, so I am only expecting three of four years of use before they quit oscillating. But they are damn near silent, have three speeds, go up and down, side to side, and also a figure 8. Add to the fact they are remote controlled, and these things are hard to beat for the low price they sell for.

I’m not normally a home automation guy, but I use Sensibo AC controllers (need to have the ability to use an IR remote control). It’s cut the cooling costs at my house by about $125/month so they already paid themselves off in 3 months.

Big fans help a lot when it comes to moving the air around and keeping the AC cycles efficient.
I have these and love them:

I also have applied heat blocking window film on my east and west facing windows that cook in the sun all day.

Beyond that, I’m constantly making insulation and air sealing improvements around the house.

Last year I was paying about $300/mo during the summer, now I’m down to about $150-175.

Yes, though I didn't claim they were bladeless. Just quieter than most fans.

I'm pretty sure they were O2 cool. They lasted throughout the weekend, they didn't move that much air but you could definitely feel it and didn't have to exert extra energy to create the movement of air.

More importantly, imo, the misting feature was SO refreshing in that heat. Spraying it on your forehead, chest, and especially back of the neck felt like an instant body temp cool-down of a couple degree. I highly recommend a mister over an old school hand fan

u/Jingy_ · 1 pointr/Assistance

Just one window definitely makes it harder, but you can still get some circulation going if you put a box fan in the window.

I suggest turning the fan to blow out during the day, with the bedroom door open to allow air flow.
Then turn the fan to pull air in during the cooler evening/night.

you're better off not bothering with those little window fans like this , because they are pretty much always too weak to do any good.
Get a basic box fan like this , and just cover the window space next to the fan with a board or curtain or something.

>I use a common 20 inch box fan with a MERV 11 to MERV 17 furnace filter taped to it.

Hey instead of a box fan do you think I could do the same thing to my tower fan instead?

I currently have This tower fan from Lasko.

I really don't want to have to use a box fan since they take up a lot of floor space which I'm lacking, and I don't like the aesthetic of them. Plus I already have this fan in my room. So have you ever tried using Merv furnace filter and taped it to it and noticed if it cleaned your room well enough?

What I really love about my current tower fan is that it uses very little wattage while pushing a lot of air and being very quiet all at the same time.

u/maryemitch · 1 pointr/HomeKit

The fan I have is the Lasko Windcurve... though mine is all black with black buttons. I couldn't find a way to use zip ties (though I have a lot running around the house) because the power button is located at the top of the tower and also has a depression in the button that meant I needed something to fill the depression to push down the power button. The gorilla tape means black on black, so I can't see it from across the room. It's not a perfect solution, but will do until someone releases a <$100 homekit-enabled tower fan.

u/micr0throwery · 1 pointr/microgrowery

Oh for sure, here's where I'm at (copy pasted from a comment I made a while back):

  • Hortilux 600 watt HPS
  • Galaxy Grow 400/600W Ballast, always on 600W, never turning on Turbo mode either
  • Vivosun 6" Reflector Hood (can't find a link anywhere)
  • 6" Can Fan Max-Fan
  • 3 x 3 x 4.5 Secret Jardin Tent, can't find an accurate link since my model is discontinued
  • Honeywell QuietSet Oscillating Fan HYF290B, for strengthening branches - running 24/7
  • I'm using my 4" fan/ducting as an intake fan, directly in front of my AC unit's cold air flow
  • Bluelab PENPH, I aim for 6.0 to 6.4, but I don't put too much effort into accuracy, sometimes not checking at all
  • Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil, no other additions to the soil
  • General Hydroponics nutrient line, along with Floralicious Plus in the mix
  • Eve Room 2, purchased because it's compatible with Homekit

I've had quite a few set ups in the past, and this one is my favorite by far. It's made in such a way, that I can close all the doors and it would be unnoticed. If it's dead silent you can hear the 6" fan running, but with the AC running you can't notice it at all. It's great!

So my set up, is also a closet, that is slightly bigger than my tent. So in order to manage heat better I may take my tent out and put mylar on the closet walls. I like having the tent so I can have clones/saplings in the closet with light, and have my flowering ones stay in complete darkness. I'll try to take a photo for you too!

I also, just ordered my 480W Quantum Board light, which arrives on May 29th! I know I could do more to better manage heat and not need a new light, but this seems like an opportunity to upgrade so I'll take it.
u/chobby2 · 1 pointr/bonnaroo

Oooh, I brought this one in 2014 and loveddddd it. Never had any difficulty sleeping due to the heat.

This is the first year I've been able to come back, and since I loved this fan so much, I bought this new tinier fan (https://www.target.com/p/treva-5-portable-volcano-fan-gray/-/A-54114406) to bring in to Centeroo for whenever I feel like lounging around on a blanket in the back. And because I'm a real psychopath who hates the heat, I bought this even TINIER fan (https://www.amazon.com/O2-Cool-Necklace-Fan-Assorted/dp/B00X8AQ8P0) to hang around my neck when I'm moving around. Overnight in the desert the temps can drop dramatically, like a 40-50 degree swing. When I lived in Tucson for a few years the summer nights were mid 70s. Depending on where you are going I would check the average highs and lows. I think you'll be fine temp wise overnight if you set up a battery powered fan or two top promote air movement. During the day however.... that's a different story.

u/electringeniarius · 1 pointr/ElectricalEngineering

I don't know that the solar panel would be worth the weight vs output. If I was going to tackle something like this. I would buy one of these:
https://www.amazon.ca/O2COOL-FN02001-Deluxe-Necklace-Grey/dp/B00TQPO3C6/ref=asc_df_B00TQPO3C6/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=292953368354&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11135908727821711293&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001311&hvtargid=pla-315950538668&psc=1

Then disassemble it and figure out how to Install it into the hat. Or mount it right on top of the hat and duct the fan output down into the hat crown. reviews show it could last "all day" on a pair of AA batteries. I would look at getting your Dad 4 rechargeable AA Ni-Mh batteries and a charger so he has spares for long days in the yard.

I don't know about box fans specifically. But I got this window fan I got two of them one to exhaust air into the room and an other to draw in fresh air.

You can set this to only 1 fan on, 2, or all 3. It takes about 15-17 watts per fan. So all 3 would be 45-51 watts.

u/phineas1134 · 1 pointr/vandwellers

I've always used one of these little battery powered fans in my van. They don't use much power and move quite a bit of air. Add on the plug adapter and you should be all set.

This is the same type of umbrella we use, though I got mine at Sam's club for a little better of a price than this one. You can attach it to your canopy or just have it sort of floating between your car and canopy. (Here's my camp if that helps give a better idea)We get these fans in the camping section of walmart. They do take 8 D batteries each which seems like a lot lol, but I've never had to change batteries.

I have not gone VIP, no. I've never been in a long line to get into Centeroo once. Maybe I just pick good times, but I've never waited for than probably 5 minutes. If you just search VIP in this sub you will get tons of pro/con lists for VIP camping. If you have the money to do it, most people would say do it. I would definitely read from some people who have experience though, since I don't!

There was someone selling these in the dealers den at TFF, and I bought one out of curiosity. All I can say is, holy crap, best $15 I ever spent. I was able to full suit MUCH longer than I normally am able to.

I just wore it around my neck and grabbed it, turned it on, and placed it directly in my suit's muzzle when I felt like I was getting a little warm or my lenses started fogging up (my suit has prescription lenses in it so I can see).

For such a cheap little device, it does a surprisingly good job of pushing a fair bit of air, and the fact you can just wear it on a lanyard like you probably will already have your badges on makes it perfect for fursuiting at conventions. Plus.. it fits inside the muzzle or under the neck fluff really easily for a quick cool burst of air.

It's not going to solve all your problems, but it might be something that'll help.

If it were me I would cut out a 4 inch hole in both the top and bottom shelf, then put a 4 inch greenhouse fan in the bottom shelf so that is pulling air in to the cabinet and pushing it up towards the top. Then I would cover the hole in the top shelf with some sort of air vent or other air permeable material. I would also leave the fan running 24/7. That would be an optimal solution.

Or you can stick one of these guys on the bottom shelf pointing up to circulate the air inside. It is still a decent solution!!

Would recommend a different light for 4 plants in that space. As others have said, a quantum board of COB would be better. If you go the COB / Quantum board route i'm not even sure if you'll need extensive ventilation.

Also, are you going to use FFOF and coco/perlite? I'm confused.

Bit of an expensive power strip, could probably save a few bucks there.

One thing you're missing for sure is a small fan to circulate air. like this

u/OldGuy37 · 1 pointr/flashlight

I got this one, ut for about $15 rather than $28, because the battery was a smaller capacity -- notice that this says "upgraded." However, the battery is not permanently installed, so the capacity isn't really an issue. If you can find one cheaper, buy it and carry an extra battery and/or a charger. Especially if you're carrying 18650 flashlights anyway.

https://www.amazon.com/OPOLAR-F201-Rechargeable-Portable-Traveling/dp/B01DZYUL6A/ref=sr_1_6?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1499375750&sr=1-6&keywords=18650+fan

One problem is that if you are going to use it somewhere other than on a motionless flat surface, you need to figure out a mounting system. I ended up putting very thin cords through the top of the grille, using silicone caulk to hold them in place, and hanging the fan. I'm not totally satisfied with this solution, and will continue to experiment. I suppose a fan with a spring clip might be suitable for inside a tent, but I didn't see one I liked.

Hope this helps.

This one is nice to have hanging from the ceiling in your tent and also has a nice light for at night but its not that powerful at all and takes 2 D batteries.

Lastly this is the one you can get from walmart or amazon. It takes the most batteries (6 D batteries) but has pretty good power if its close to you. It can be awkward to position in your tent for it to actually cool you off depending on your sleeping situation...

This is pretty much what my setup looks like, although with tons more devices and small switches scattered around the house xD. My primary switch is one of these, but they have a cheaper 8-port as well. Most of my gear is in a closet so I have a fan looming over it on low, keeping things cool. Also, putting it all on a UPS means that you can finish sendind that email (or wrapping up that online game) if the power goes out, very handy.

I do not have an Ubiquiti AP yet. From what I know they use PoE, but somehow I doubt they ship with no way to power them out of the box. I have heard they do not play very well with Apple products, in which case I would suggest an AirPort Express (or Time Capsule for that wonderful 24/7 backup) as an additional AP.

The EdgeRouter setup tutorials on the Wiki are designed for WAN on port 0, LAN on port 1, and WLAN on port 2, which would mean the AP would plug right into the router. I personally did not do this, I mixed the LAN and WAN and connected exactly as your picture shows. Let me know if you need any help setting it up.

This way you don’t ruin the aesthetic of your room and you chose when you have a fan out.

They work GREAT! Can point it at you, have it blast through the room, have it rotate 160 degrees. Some even come with a heating option for when you’re cold!

Oh wow. Purchased this for occasional airing out of dry suit. Would a hanger like this generate ozone?

The answer to a lot of these questions can be found on the official Carnival website with a very simple google search so I'm gonna let you or someone else do the work for you, but in regards to the fan, I went on Carnival in like 2015 and took an old version of this fan and it was fine.
