It looks wrong without something. My states plates look unfinished on the edges. Plus it does away with the slight bit of rattle I had.

I had a custom license plate stolen from my car many years ago. Not sure if someone stole the plate to re-use or if they were just being an asshole. After I reported the plate stolen it was effectively blacklisted and I had to choose a new plate.

The STO-N-SHOW retractable license plate bracket is always recommended when people don't want to drill their bumper but I've been thinking about a different method.

Check out the tow hook on u/tlenzen76's car. You could mount something like one of these license plate brackets in the tow hook location instead. That would only require a hole in the grill and then you could easily replace your license plate with a tow hook if you go racing or to a car show. The plate wouldn't block the radiator or intercooler in that location either.

What do you guys think? I'm already going to install the front tow hook on my car so I can have one when I join SCCA this spring and I'm thinking of taking off my front license plate bracket and filling the holes so I can switch to this method.

Keep it simple with a slimline frame like this.

well then there are other options that don't move that still mount under the bumper.

But overkill is what makes these cars fun man. Or at least that's just me.

Paid like 32 dollars with prime shipping 2 days. It's oos right now but many look to sell the same exact one. Some said it sticks out a bit too far but on my 2018 it fits well. I've seen some say the older tow hooks some not fitting 2018 so maybe that's why it looks decent on mine.

I went from Gen 5 to 6, get these with some velcro. Stick next to your right knee on the transmission tunnel for a good cell phone holder.

If you need a front plate, ZL1 Addons makes a great one I can vouch for.

I actually bought a similar adapter for my 2018 WRX, it works great! I did it because I didn't want them to drill holes in my bumper.

You could mount one on your bumper using a mount like this one. I use a similar mount and it has held up great.

I recently was in the same situation and I didn't want to drill holes for the license plate or get a tow hook mount.

Subaru parts has an official one for about $26 but I got one off Amazon for about $16. Came with the rubber grommets screws and washers. Been driving around with it for a month now and it's still holding tight

If you don't want to go that route, better bulbs would be a better option than LEDs. LEDs when not in the correct housing, will throw light everywhere, making it worse for you and other drivers. Most of then are cheap pieces of crap anyway.

My V-star has the under seat helmet lock, but my Scorpion helmets straps are a pain to get locked up. Bought this lock that mounts onto the license plate bracket with security Torx-head screws:

Much easier to use. That being said, when I ride to work, I normally just bring my helmet inside.

My bike (R1200C) didn't come with a lock, so I bought a lock that mounts behind the license plate frame. It's probably not the most secure thing in the world. If someone really wanted my helmet, they could steal it. But it has been enough of a deterrent so far. I bought this one.
