I like his commentary a lot and I think he has huge potential, so here a few little things that he could improve:

  • Get a widescreen monitor. 4:3 is very offputting if you're watching it on 16:9/16:10. I personally like the newer IPS panels, but an average TN will suffice.
  • Buy a better mic. The audio quality is very important if you are doing a lot of commentary and the average headset one isn't good enough most of the time. A lot of streamers/casters use this one since it's rather cheap, solid quality and looks awesome
  • Adjust your webcam angle and position. The image should contain mainly your upper body and your face while the camera is placed on the same level as your head or shoulders like this. Basically you want to give the viewer the impression that he is sitting right in front of you since it helps with presenting your personality and content. If you need a decent webcam with better quality and a better stand a lot of streamers use this one.

If you have trouble with funding your hardware I'm sure redditors will be glad to help you out a bit.

Logitech C922x Pro model number: 960-001176
Sale model number: 960-001211
Here is an amazon listing of the same webcam on sale: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Stream-Streaming-Recording-960-001211/dp/B07661NX9M

Webcam It's in her priority list plus it's marked high.

u/ChasingEchoes11 · 6 pointsr/buildapcsales

It'd be fine. At this price it's worth a shot, at least. But if you're convinced you gonna be serious about streaming, I'd look into the C922.

u/Deto · 6 pointsr/gadgets

Wow - that's pretty cool.

Here's a link to the product he uses.

I think that it would be a strange use case for an FPS game. I mean, if you look to the right, the view pans to the right, and the thing that you were looking at is now in the center. Would be pretty unnatural. Ideally just the crosshair would move with the view shifting, but then you'd need a game that had coded in support for this.

Thanks for the link. Tool is a little pricey, but it's good to know how advanced these things are!

u/CarlFriedrichGauss · 6 pointsr/buildapc

I just bought a used Microsoft LifeCam Cinema for $15 off Amazon, although the seller has a pretty bad rating (62%). I figured for $15, it was worth a buy. And if there was something wrong with the cam, then I'd just dispute it on Amazon.

I don't know much about the webcam market, but I did a little shopping around and it seems like the Microsoft LifeCam Studio and the Logitech HD Pro C920 are the two flagships. There aren't that many other companies that seem to come close, as all the other webcams I've seen have well under 100 reviews on Amazon.

u/flyingfresian · 5 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I got the money for trading in my games so have giftcard funds! /u/spencerkami now has a kettle, which is very important, and I have enough money left to buy EITHER:

Speakers so I can watch Netflix without headphones so will actually hear Mr Fresian when he talks to me!

OR

A webcam so I can effectively TinyChat again.

HALP! I'm utterly shit at buying things for myself, even when it doesn't involve me spending my limited funds!

The people have spoken. Speakers it is!

u/JorgTheElder · 5 pointsr/Android

Nope... I don't really do selfies, but I use it for video calls all the time. I would like a built in sliding cover, but I added one of these myself.

u/tekrat · 5 pointsr/raspberry_pi

You can pick up a cheap network cam for about $200. A pi and webcam with enclosures and shipping would cost you about the same. The advantage is that network cam is specialize and has nifty mounts. The pi-cam is completely customizable. I comes down to what you want.

EDIT: I seem to have set off a crap storm here. Here were I get the cost:

  • Pi + Shipping = $42
  • Power Supply + Shipping = $13
  • Compatible Memory Card + Shipping = $15
  • High Res Webcam + Shipping $52
  • Camera Case + Shipping - $22
  • Wires and accessories - $10

Total Price: $154 for hardware that can only do about 6 frames / second at full resolution. The advantage of the PI is that you can customize it anyway you want. The disadvantage is it's very under powered. I have heard that Beagle Bone Black's can get up to 25 fps with a similar setup (under best conditions).

I was thinking of an IP camera like this one, or maybe a step up.

u/fishbulbx · 4 pointsr/buildapcsales

They kind of reassured us webcam tech has stabilized with the logitech C922 three years ago. Essentially zero difference from the C920 and the C920 is still a top selling model, they didn't even stop manufacturing it.

u/wee0x1b · 4 pointsr/raspberry_pi

Really all you need is the Raspberry Pi 3B and the recommended power supply. That all comes in a kit for $42: https://www.amazon.com/CanaKit-Raspberry-Micro-Supply-Listed/dp/B01C6FFNY4/

The official case is very nice, and just snaps together. It's eight dollars: https://www.amazon.com/Official-Raspberry-Pi-Case-Black/dp/B01F1PSFY6/

The last thing you need is a Micro SD card. I use a lot of Pis at work, and have had the best luck with the Samsung cards. I use these as they're reliable and give you a lot of storage for not a lot of money: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Class-Adapter-MB-MP32DA-AM/dp/B00IVPU786

If you want to get some for him that might spark a little hobby interest, they also sell a camera for the Pi: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LY05LOE. There are all sorts of libraries for writing software to use the camera, and if you do get the camera for him have him look up "OpenCV" to get started with programming for it.

1 - Canadian pesos: great for censuring keys and exchanging for cheap goods.
2 - Kingston DataTraveler SE9 8GB USB 2.0
3 - Generic plastic cable stripper from idk where.
4 - Old 10 roentgen quartz pen dosimeter from (I think) Canadian forces surplus.
5 - Gerber 22-41830 EAB Pocket Knife
6 - Zebra Pen F-701
7 - Corsair 32GB voyager GO
8 - Olight i3E EOS EDC AAA LED Keychain Flashlight
9 - USB-C to Micro USB, One is in a 3d printed holder.
10 - Cheap but good sony headphones from bestbuy.

u/ahecht · 3 pointsr/teslamotors

That doesn't look like 2.0 hardware. The two cameras mounted inside the car, pointing left and right, look like Microsoft LifeCams, and I was pretty sure that Autopilot 2.0 required cameras on the side mirrors. It seems more likely that this is a test platform for correlating the Model S and Model X autopilot programs, with extra dash cams to document tricky situations the car gets into.

Ahh, I wish I could get good VR, as I can't use any of track IR, track view, etc do to a neck injury from a drunk driver, my cervical spine is fused and won't turn left at all, and only turns right a degree or so. I saw awhile back an eye tracker on Amazon, but no one I could find has/uses it:
Here it is

u/LtRoyalShrimp · 3 pointsr/Twitch

You can probably do it with the Tobii Eye Tracker 4C:

I'd recommend the Olight i3E EOS for AAA at 90lms, close enough.

Another recommendation from Lumintop though, the Advanced Mini at 110lms.

For an AA sized light, you are out of luck if you are under 15$CA.

u/klobersaurus · 2 pointsr/UFOs

you should link it to a live ADS-B receiver. optically track all objects in the sky, but then flag and record those that do not broadcast an ADS-B signal.

also, i think you should use a fisheye to scan the whole sky (https://smile.amazon.com/180degree-Fisheye-1080p-Angle-Camera/dp/B00LQ854AG/) and then use a high res, high zoom camera (https://smile.amazon.com/QWinOut-700TVL-Adjustable-Multicopter-Telemetry/dp/B00OONWUZM/) on identified targets.

all this would require some basic machine vision and some linear algebra, but it's doable and would make for a great project!

u/HeadacheHeroes · 2 pointsr/letsplay

It really just helps me see what I'm focused on in games. It's to coach myself on what I need to do better. It's great for MOBA's and FPS's. This is the one I use https://www.amazon.com/Tobii-Eye-Tracker-4C-PC-gaming/dp/B01MAWPMXQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1523380105&sr=8-1&keywords=tobii+eye+tracker+4c andI like it quite a bit.

u/thebrothersmurph · 2 pointsr/boardgames

No problem!

for lights we use something like this, I'm not sure the exact brand or where we got them but it's along these lines:
https://www.amazon.com/LimoStudio-Photography-Lighting-Equipment-AGG814/dp/B00E4YS2XU/ref=sr_1_5?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1523462486&sr=1-5&keywords=studio+lights

The main thing with lights is make sure you have the area really well lit, and that you are using white lights NOT yellow lights. It can be a little tricky because the board can get a glare so make sure to watch out for that

And for cameras we use a Razor for our down camera:
https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Kiyo-Streaming-Optimized-Built/dp/B075N1BYWB/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1523462556&sr=1-1&keywords=razor+camera

And we have an older Logitech that looks at us we are planning on upgrading soon.

If you want to see some of our streams you can watch our videos on our channel to get an idea of our set up twitch.tv/thebrothersmurph

u/mjbvz · 2 pointsr/bouldering

Yes, that sounds about right. Here's the exact setup I used:

  • Raspberry Pi 3 Model B. Older 3s works too, but not so much the Raspberry Pi 2 for wireless streaming at least. Having an integrated wifi chip is really essential
  • A fisheye webcam. Other webcam models should also work but make sure you get one that supports mjpeg streaming and not just YUY.
  • A usb lipstick style phone battery to power the pi. Any brand should work. The phone will run out of power before the Pi does
  • iPhone 6S acting as the viewer

Once you connect the Pi to your phone, you can actually access it by host name: http://pi.local:8080. On the phone, I use a simple webpage that duplicates the stream for each eye (the pi here has the host name pita).

This setup is pretty flexible and has worked well enough for my purposes

> What the fuck do people find so overpriced about Apple?

Let's look at the specs of a 13 inch Macbook Pro starting at £999.

  • 15.4 inch display at a native resolution of 1440x900 although supporting a wide variety of 16:10 and 4:3 aspect ratios.
  • Built in Wi-fi (802.11a/b/g/n compatiable) or an ethernet connector if you are using a wired connection
  • 2 USB 2.0 ports, a Firewire port and support for SDXC cards.
  • 2.4GHz Intel Dual Core i5 processor
  • 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM
  • 500GB 5400rpm HDD
  • Intel HD Graphics 3000 (Yes, I shit you not, Intel onboard graphics on something that costs £999 or $1,565.48 USD according to exchange rates found on xe.com.)
  • 7 hours battery life
  • Built in HD webcam.

I think it would be quite easy to find a Windows laptop with comparatively good specs for a cheaper price.

I'm not kidding, I bought a laptop for around £350 that matches most of these specs. The battery life is slightly shorter, it uses a weaker variety of onboard graphics (which isn't that big a deal, it's not like either is good at anything graphically intensive anyway), has a (not HD) webcam installed and has a somewhat weaker processor.

Tell me, is it worth paying £650 just to have Mac OSX and a Pentium Dual Core replaced with an Intel i5 processor? Because I think if I wanted an i3 or an i5, I'd only need to pay around £200 - 300 more. Besides, I think I can buy a HD quality external webcam for a reasonable price these days (EDIT: I can get a Logitech one for £15.)

u/brad3378 · 2 pointsr/photogrammetry

I would build your project around your available optics and lighting. With a $500 budget, we can rule out working with an array of DSLR cameras, but I think you can still make it work.

For what you want to capture, it sounds like you will want to work with short focal lengths at short distances. That's good because these are often inexpensive. Here's an example at 5 megapixels for $17 that plugs into a Raspberry Pi computer.

Next questions:

  • Can you solder?

  • Do you have any experience with Arduinos and/or Linux? Are you interested in learning?

  • Are you comfortable working with CAD?

  • Do you have access to a 3D printer?

    ---

If it were me, I'd consider buying at least one of these adapters: http://www.arducam.com/multi-camera-adapter-module-raspberry-pi/

According to the documentation, you can stack these to create arrays of up to 16 cameras and as far as I can tell, you only need one Arduino or Raspberry Pi computer to control the camera array.

    ---

For the flexible camera mounts, consider saving a few dollars by copying this guy's idea with copper wire inside plastic tubing: https://petapixel.com/2015/08/16/build-a-diy-flexible-camera-mount-for-just-8/

    ---

If you have access to a 3D printer, I would make camera enclosures for each camera - after you get them working of course. I would design a case that lets me use a 1/4-20 nut like this so you can use your cameras on any standard camera mounting equipment.

    ---

It will take some time to build this, but it sounds like a fun project.

    Good luck!
u/WackoMedia · 2 pointsr/oculus

yea I'm looking at that now. It seems sometimes IR cut off means no IR and sometimes means only IR. I'll be careful.

In a perfect world I'd find there is a kind of clear spray that works and I could coat a small piece of plexy. Or that some eye glasses do it and could make a lens out of that.... or I would find the Microsoft HD webcam does it out of the box.

http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-LifeCam--Webcam-Q2F-00013/dp/B0096KSBB0/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1416078037&sr=1-4&keywords=hd+webcam

u/smushkan · 2 pointsr/videography

If you mix PAL framerates into an NTSC video, you'll get stuttering and blended frames.

That sort of issue is normally most noticable on fast action, pans, and smooth motion. Given that you're going to use it as facecam, the stutter might not be very noticable at all so you could probably get away with it.

Still it would be best to avoid the problem if you can... Mixing standards is always a bit of a pain!

It might be worth looking at webcams instead. Almost all webcams shoot at 30fps, and some can do 60; and you can plug it in to the same machine as your Elgato. You can composite your facecam using OBS or XSplit saving you the need to edit it together.

u/HybridCamRev · 2 pointsr/videography

/u/boreditdude - the lowest cost solution is probably the [$179 Logitech Conference Cam] (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-960-000866-Conference-Cam-BCC950/dp/B0083I7Y8W/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20). This camera is really made for situations where it is closer than 20 feet - but if you can get it closer (perhaps even on the table), it will be the least expensive solution.

[Here] (https://youtu.be/NMJjyupoysY) is how it works.

Logitech has two higher end versions of this product which separate the camera from the speakerphone, the [$741 CC3000e] (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-ConferenceCam-CC3000e-Conferencing-960-000982/dp/B00I0F78DO/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20) (promo video [here] (https://youtu.be/S77NBIYxrNo)) and the [$998.98 Logitech Group] (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Conferencing-System-Meeting-960-001054/dp/B01B4SNM92/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20&linkId=9f6af2186ea4ee7c634fdd3d46f5d38a) (promo video [here] (https://youtu.be/ZFhzDPmV5f4)).

If there's no way to put the camera on the conference table, the best solution would be a high quality 1080p camcorder with a zoom lens, mic and headphone jacks plus a video capture card. I recommend:

u/CocoMofletitos · 2 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

I don't think you should focus on the built-in camera when looking for a laptop, you can buy a external one, which will be way better than most built-in and they're not expensive.

Look at these two for example:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003LVZO92

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003M2YT96

If you're gonna use your laptop only for skype calling and web browsing you could buy a 500~600$ laptop with a decent CPU and GPU and any camera you want IMO.

u/dbmeed · 2 pointsr/flashlight

The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is this lumintop light, or maybe this Olight ie3 but neither have more memory or tail switch.

u/RaPiiD38 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Do you like high prices and flashy lights?

Becuase if you don't you could get a keyboard with the layout you like, membrane or mechanical for like £40 and a changeable dpi mouse with extra buttons for like £20 but hey flashy lights.

There's so much choice for other non-rgb keyboards just browse through amazon and see which one you like the look of.

I'd recommend this mouse

if you want to run octopi/octoprint, there are plenty of small camera modules that will plug right into a dedicated header on the pi board. There is also support for web streaming and timelapses but I've never tried them.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LY05LOE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

For audio hardware, of all the various units I've tested, this one is my favorite:

Jabra Speak 410

For larger groups, the 710 model allows you to link 2 units:

Jabra Speak 710

For cameras:

Fixed, small group, tripod or display/TV top mount:

Logitech c930e

Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ), Large room, tripod, tabletop, or wall mount:

Logitech PTZ Pro Camera

Avoid this one - we purchased 10, and so far the speaker has died on 6 of them in the past 2 years:

Logitech Conference Cam BCC950

Other hardware options:

Zoom Room Recommended Hardware

For platform, if you use G Suite & have Enterprise licensing, Google Meet is fantastic, as it supports dial-in numbers and up to 50 participants. Also, it has a new hardware kit w/ touchscreen remote:

Hangouts Meet hardware kit

If you are nor using G Suite, then either Zoom.us or Blue Jeans would be my first pick, with a slight edge to Zoom.

For more traditional, less video-centric, powerpoint heavy platform, GoToMeeting or GoToWebinar.

Let me know if you have any questions about any of the platforms or hardware.

It is NOT the C922. It's also not the C922x, as was previously stated.

Get your internet checked! Have your internet providers come out to see if anythings wrong with your internet. My gal has over the top wiring to her house (telephone poles) and apparently the coax line that fed her house was patched with duct-tape and eventually water seeped in and it was destroying her internet connectivity.

Also make sure you are using high quality equipment. Personally, I use the Blue Yeti Pro condenser microphone for audio and a [Microsoft LifeCam Studio 1080p] (http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-LifeCam-Studio-Webcam-Q2F-00013/dp/B0096KSBB0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1397430677&sr=8-1&keywords=microsoft+hd+webcam) for video.

Also, ensure that you have enough bandwidth on both ends. I believe the recommended amount of speed for a decent audio/video call is 1 megabit per second for both upload and download speeds.

Hope this helps!

> You can use any USB A-C connector that supports quick charge. Ignore all the controversy about people saying "USB type C doesn't support quickcharge"

So, I could use this cable with my HTC supplied wall wart, because this is A to C, and the wall wart is a QC one, and I'd get QC 3 speeds?

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying about the A-C that supports QC.

>No, most phones use USB 2 type C. USB 3 only has faster data transfer speeds. However, the port matters. USB 2 delivers only 500mA, USB 3 delivers more.

Again, not QUITE sure I follow. I think what you're saying is that any A-C cable is fine from the wall, but if I want fast transfer speeds from a PC, I need a USB 3 cable. (Sorry, you threw me off when you mentioned current. Surely the current would only matter if this phone used USB 3.0 power delivery? Or is the current somehow related to the data transfer speed?)

What I'm looking at getting is this for use with my HTC wall wart, and a pack of these for in the car/at the office or my desk. Remember, I don't want them to just work, I want them to charge at full QC3 speed when in the car (with the QC car plug I linked) or with the HTC wall wart. I am NOT expecting QC speeds when plugged into a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port on a PC (although i'm assuming a USB 3.0 port will perform better?)

Here's my understanding....

The long cable will be handy for charging, and won't be used for transferring data, so the fact that it isn't USB 3.0 doesn't matter.

**The pack of cables will be used for charging OR data transfer - so they're USB 3.0.
USB 3.0 compatibility will neither help nor hinder when charging, but will only be a positive when transferring data.

Basically, what I'm getting is that whether a cable is USB 3 or not doesn't matter for charging when the standard being used is Qualcomm's QC, only if USB 3's power delivery system is being utilised. When QC3 is in play, USB 3.0 only matters for data transfer.

Okay, well - there are a few mouse that are wireless and would work for you.

  • Logitech MX Master | Review
This mouse is a very premium mouse, it's more aimed towards productivity, not really gaming. But despite that, it will also work fine for gaming, but it won't be super
  • Budget "gaming" Mouse | Amazon Reviews?
There are a bunch of relatively cheap gaming mice on the market. I bought one of these for my brother for Christmas last year and he isn't complaining about it yet. Long battery life and solid tracking. He seems to be happy with it.

    ---

As for keyboard.. well, for wireless you're stuck with membrane keyboards. Meaning no mechanical switches.
There are wireless mechanical keyboards, but non of them are that good and they're very expensive.

Most wireless keyboards I came across just simply don't look that great for gaming.
This one is actually one that seems to be relatively okay, but well.. don't expect magic from it either. It looks pretty cheap and well.. that's because it is.
So I doubt that you get great software with this (if any at all) and the quality might be a bit.. lack luster.

The only real downside is that it's really sensitive and will pick up background noise like no other. It blocks out ambient noise pretty well though.

It looks like the Microsoft LifeCam Cinema webcam is very popular these days. Unless you have a used philips Toucam laying around.

did some more searching and wanted your opinion on this one? i think its semi modular like you suggested

u/Amatthers · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I'm just about to build my first PC. This is the motherboard I've chosen:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-1151-STRIX-Z270E-GAMING/dp/B01N0TEB9M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493933539&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+motherboard

However im a bit confused with what drivers I will need to install when I have finished the build. Obviously I need to get graphic card drivers which GeForce experience will sort, however on the asus driver website there are so many i'm getting a bit overwhelmed with what to install. Can someone give me a rundown or list of the drives I will need to install?

https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-Z270E-GAMING/HelpDesk_Download/

This is the page for reference.

I was reading your advice, and was hoping I could pick your brain. I recently bought a webcam for the purposes of keeping an eye on my car at night time. It's already been nicked this year, but thankfully recovered. My current neighbours are ass hats, to put it mildly, and I suspect them of having keyed my car. I only care about the mechanics and my sound system if I'm honest. I was wondering if the model I purchased, bearing in mind it's only pointing at my car in the street is safe enough from the exploits you mentioned before?

u/Mozartis · 1 pointr/buildapc

What's the difference between these two? Shouldn't every Z270E have WiFi?

Mobo1

Mobo2

u/Waitwhatwtf · 1 pointr/WebVR

It says directly in the sentence that the first model was built from commodity video components.

I even found the cameras you used in the prototype with a 5 second Google search.

There's not even much deviation from the initial prototype's form factor. It's most likely a 3d printed case.

What happens when the user turns their head with your software? A static perspective with head motion is going to make most people blow chunks.

> I encourage you to try it out and record a demo video out of it.

It's an interesting concept, I'll probably build something myself and improve upon it.

Logitech is definitely the best and as /u/minxhibitionist stated the C920 is industry standard. Here is a page comparing some Logitech cams.

A few more thoughts:

The Logitech C930 has just come out with mixed reviews, however it is fully integrated with Mac. (I currently use a C920 with Mac and you have no controls just plug and play, kind of lame).

If you want to go all out go with the Logitech BCC950. This is what professional physical studios and some work at home camgirls use. It has a remote with full zoom, pan, tilt, and other useful features.

In addition you may find that you have a personal preference. For instance a lot of girls like the Logitech 9000 because they believe the coloring shows up more flattering and hides flaws even though it's actually a discontinued not even 1080p HD model.

So it's really subjective there is no cut and dry answer - whatever suits your needs!

Sorry for the late reply. Here's a selection of PSUs, increasing in price. All normally reliable, according to this list.

How many people are in the conference room? I'd recommend something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0083I7Y8W/
Our department has one and it works great. The conference phone capability is the big win.

Razor Kiyo for $70 on amazon I wonder if it saves your configurations unlike the c920?

I recently bought this charger, works fine with the laptop, doesnt come with the USB C cable though. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07CPLRTSJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_DBb0CbX49WG2M

Any charger with a UK plug should work in theory though as usually they'll be designed for the UK outlet spec

u/ManiacalMeerkat · 1 pointr/MatebookXPro

I've used the Aukey charger on that list for several months now without issue, and it's been good for my phone too.
Basically you'd want any charger from a reputable brand the supports ~60W (similar to the included Huawei charger) should be fine.

u/TyrSniper · 1 pointr/raspberry_pi

On a related note, I was considering picking up this camera module: https://www.amazon.com/Arducam-Megapixels-Sensor-OV5647-Raspberry/dp/B01LY05LOE/ref=pd_bxgy_147_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01LY05LOE&pd_rd_r=Z5TZP1KEHHSW89W5XR3D&pd_rd_w=PN9fS&pd_rd_wg=d8jZA&psc=1&refRID=Z5TZP1KEHHSW89W5XR3D

It looks like it doesn't use the GPIO section as far as I can tell. Not sure how it gets power though. Still researching!

u/Scanty_and_Kneesocks · 1 pointr/DnD

Me thinking about dropping >100 bucks on just a microphone. my empty wallet is crying rn

The conference speaker we got isn't like a traditional 'phone' conference speaker (oh lordy we have those at work and I'd rather die than try to play DND through that mess) it's a USB speaker that for all intents and purposes sounds and works great--its definitely no high end fancy thing but I definitely feel like I got more than my 50 dollars worth with its ease and quality and lack of echoing, which was our main problem with just computer speakers. link for the curious to what I specifically bought. and the wide lens cam too cuz why not

I mean hey if you can afford Yeti-level stuff more power to you, if I did streaming and whatnot I would def dish out that kinda cash, but when you only use it for DnD the middle-range quality stuff works snazzily too

u/Brucey59Fifty · 1 pointr/iPhoneX

I’ve been using the AUKEY USB-C Wall charger (56.5W) from Amazon, link (www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07CPLRTSJ) and the Belkin Boost USB-C Cable from the Apple store. I’ve been using both together since day 1 of my iPhone XS Max (8 months) and so far my battery health is still 100%.

u/thegenregeek · 1 pointr/learnVRdev

Depending on the headset you should be able to capture from the onboard camera(s). There should be different API options for accessing the equipment.

If not something like this 180 deg fisheye camera should work if you have a spare USB port on the headset you plug into. Or you can route a USB cable along with the HMD cable. (this is the camera I'm experimenting with for OpenCV)

I use the Razor Ripsaw. I hook it up to my computer then stream via StreamLabs OBS. This way you can get the overlays and other good features that streaming software provides. One note is that I do use this for an Xbox instead of PS4.

Headset wise, I use Logitch G633 super comfortable and nice mic. I have had zero problems with it. After a few tweeks in StreamLabs OBS it sounds really good for stream and others.

Camera - Logitech 1080p Most of the streamers I have asked use this camera. It is good and auto focuses well. I also have a green screen and use it to take out all of the background.

Let me know if you have any further questions!

u/CuedUp · 1 pointr/ipad

I use an app called iCam to stream video from my Logitech C510 webcam. It supports most webcams. It's not free, but supports viewing several cameras at once. I'm not sure about recording video, unfortunately. It does support motion detection and snapping pictures, though.

This is what have and it works great. Pan and tilt and even has thread for a tripod mount if you don't want it on top of a monitor or on your desk.

The mount is flexible to contour to a bunch of surfaces and monitor types.

I've been thinking about it as well. I've got this lifecam and the included software comes with limited manual controls (pic). It would be good for doing a youtube show, but it would be pretty difficult to film anything else. You obviously can't use a tripod or any other standard film equipment but I'm sure you can find creative ways to make a simple video. But obviously a proper camera would make the whole process much easier and the final product would look better.

Yeah, the Android app may be a reach goal, will probably just have a script.

The camera I was looking at was the Arducam 5 megapixel camera, found some sample footage here which looks like it'll be good enough for me, and cheaper than the RPi branded one. Not trying to take beautiful footage, just something to record my commute in case anything happens.

I have similar issues, though I have the most trouble using a mouse. Since you work from home, and your biggest issue is typing, you may want to try speech recognition software. It took me a few days to get used to it, but I now find it really helpful in certain situations.

Since you specifically mentioned scrolling, I'll mention that you can say commands like "press page down" to scroll down like you pressed the page down key, or "scroll down 3" to scroll down like you hit the scroll button 3 times.

I've had mixed success with using the speech recognition to totally replace typing, but I'm using the free Microsoft Speech Recognition software, and I've heard some of the other software out there is much better.

Since my biggest issue is with a mouse, I'm hoping improvements in eye tracking hardware, [like this] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MAWPMXQ/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza), will let me stop using a mouse altogether in the next few years.

Replace my logitech c960 because it can see the entire build plate from the z carriage mount on my taz 6 and tucks inside the enclosure nicely.

It dosnt come up automatically, had to set the ffmpeg resolution and framerate in the startup line.

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07CPLRTSJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Not the cheapest nor the smallest but good quality PD charger and you get 2 additional ports to recharge phones and other devices.

u/mr1337 · 1 pointr/weddingplanning

I'm setting up a photo booth for our wedding, but I wanted to make prints on the spot as party favors. I plan on using SparkBooth ($60) and a color photo printer that I already had. I'm using this camera that I got from Amazon, because I've heard good things about it.

Although SparkBooth isn't free, I think it's great. Optional features include: printing immediately, uploading to facebook/twitter/email, and you can choose the number of photos, where they are placed (based on pre-defined templates that you can use a custom background), and a bunch more settings.

It can also store the photos on the hard drive, which is what it looks like you'll be doing.

I've searched for a viable free software option, but didn't find anything near the quality of SparkBooth.

u/lazytiger21 · 0 pointsr/sysadmin

Depending on the size of the conference room and what other licensing/teleconference stuff you already own, I would say use Skype/GoToMeeting/WebEx and then something like this with either their own laptop or a dedicated desktop for the room:

https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Conference-BCC950-Webcam-Speakerphone/dp/B0083I7Y8W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1484667462&sr=8-2&keywords=logitech+video+conference+camera

The picture quality on this is great and the speaker is pretty solid. It also allows for an external mic-in and speakers out via headphone jack, which probably shouldn't be needed.

To each his own

I did my own little comparison with the Yeti and this

http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-LifeCam-Cinema-720p-Webcam/dp/B002MCZJ78

that i've been using for two/three years (disregarding the webcam portion that I don't really use)

Found no differences, no matter how much I tinkered with the "versatile" yeti.

u/kiko77777 · 0 pointsr/buildapcforme

Instead of the XFX power supply, consider the EVGA 500W white. It costs pretty much the same and comes with really nice sleeved cables. If you haven't already, check out CiT cases. It's up to personal preference but I think some of the cases (F3 series, Dragon³) look really nice. Solid build, maybe grab up some extra hard drives when you need them but if you don't need storage then don't bother. Good luck with the build.

Sidenote - Nice, cheap peripherals (I've used for 2 years now)
