But one of these, next time he parks there, put it on. If he wants the spot, let him have it, for good.

They produce things like this, more expensive than a chuck of wood but same thing. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BDWRECU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_eNMCCb84433CP

u/bachennoir · 19 pointsr/IDontWorkHereLady

This worked out for you, but I recommended buying one of these or something similar, if you can afford it. https://www.amazon.com/VacLife-Air-Compressor-Tire-Inflator/dp/B07MKSP49L

If you keep it in your car, you never pay for air, you don't have to worry about finding a station with a working pump, and you can put air in your cold tires. I pump up my tires seasonally in my parking garage after work. I can add to cold tires AND stay out of the elements.

u/Elaborate_vm_hoax · 10 pointsr/Volkswagen

For VW specifically you can get a set on Amazon.

Or just a big spline socket and a hammer.

Wheel locks are just there to make it more difficult than the car next to yours, but they're far from impenetrable. If someone wants your wheels there isn't a whole lot you can do other than parking it somewhere they can't get to.

u/csmanuel · 9 pointsr/FiestaST

You're missing a lug nut! Please get that replaced ASAP. Do not replace it with OEM lug nuts. They are known for swelling. I really love the McGuard lug nuts https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000COS0H4/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Its a pretty red flag that the nut is missing. That tells me that someone at some point did NOT torque those lug nuts properly. You need to double check the torque on all of those lug nuts. 100 ft-lbs is spec.

As far as wheels go...it is going to cost an arm and a leg to have someone professionally re-finish those for you. If you are a DIYer, I would try to save some money and do it yourself, and accept that it may not look perfect. Otherwise, pick up a set of OEM wheels in better shape (probably $300-$400) or go aftermarket

u/bucki_fan · 9 pointsr/homeowners

Next time they park on your property, leave them this as a present on their wheel. Also, inform them that the next time it happens the boot will stay on and police will be called to issue trespassing warnings.

u/fuerstjh · 8 pointsr/teslamotors

These should come standard with a tesla. That way when this happens. I can boot their car and make them sit around for awhile and wait on me to come back!

Yes turn them 180 degrees in and you’re good.

But no not really. Just buy locking lugnuts

I have 138miles on my XR & have just recently discovered how much the ability to change tire pressure on the fly can improve overall ride quality depending on terrain & rider weight (I weigh 150lbs).

u/iamthegreenbeard · 5 pointsr/Justfuckmyshitup

Probably also has a scam business set up so he can charge them to remove it and seem legit. Apparently you can buy the boots on Amazon. I recently saw a video of the lockpicking lawyer using two tools to open one.

edit: they're only $60 wtf

Never buy those Pressure valve caps for tires. They are a safety hazard. Debris can crack them, and then the deflation is rapid.

u/hoang51 · 4 pointsr/teslamotors

Pfffff. That's childish. Wheel lock and demand unlock fee for violating charging rights.

Get snow tires with studs and if you're not hauling anything major, take off 2 of your rear wheels. I also have a set of these for my Yukon from when I lived up north. Never got stuck once with them. Can't exceed 30 mph with them on, but really if you're putting on chains, you shouldn't be doing any more than 20. Go to their website to find which ones will fit your tire size.

u/nkdeck07 · 3 pointsr/TwoXChromosomes

>Or, because I live in Boston, someone will get agitated that I'm too slow and yell at me for being a stupid bitch.

Common we are assholes here, but not that big of ones. I can fill mine at the gas station easy enough but I actually have an air compressor at home (the machine your father is using)

You can actually get a mini-air compressor for like $30 or you can even use a bicycle pump on car tires (I've done that in the past)

u/808kid · 3 pointsr/CX5

The accessory I love is the little screen that gives the numerical read out for the tire pressures of each tire. I was a little annoyed I have to buy a product to do it when the car tpms system is capable of providing that information.

this is the one box of the kit that any vw dealership should have, my dealership had like 6 of these boxes and all were different

Maybe just use something like this with a metal bracket? These are kind of heavy duty but there are bicycle versions out there.

u/longislandtoolshed · 2 pointsr/Charger

It's a 340 Daytona in Octane Red which I ordered from the factory at the end of January. I'm upgrading from a Hyundai Sonata and it's a huge difference! I love the car already. I'm so impressed by the acceleration, the comfort of the interior, the ride quality, and the beautiful NOISE!

Yes, I did take off the curb guards and the dealership stickers.

Need to buy lug nut locks, any suggestions? I'm looking at the Gorilla system on Amazon:

It’s not OCD just to have a strong preference.

Get these instead: https://www.amazon.com/iSaddle-Pressure-Monitor-Sensor-Indicator/dp/B00D8WHI8O

u/codeniko · 2 pointsr/CX5

I have a 2018 mazda cx5 GT with TPMS. For these mazdas across all trims, TPMS just controls a light if one of your tire pressures is too low. However, the higher trim models should come with sensors in each tire which send out more information like the pressures and temperatures of each tire. Check your air pressure tire valves. If the valves/caps are silver and look like some sort of steel, that means you have these sensors. These transmit a radio frequency signal periodically and the car has a receiver somewhere to take that information in. Like I mentioned earlier, Mazda decided it just wanted to handle the low tire pressure light. Mazda didn't seem to care enough to give us access to all the extra tire information that these sensors provide. If you have these sensors, you can buy this receiver like I did that displays both the tire pressures and temperatures of each tire. https://www.amazon.com/Orange-Electronic-Pressure-Location-Display/dp/B077RVS8LB Bonus is these sensors are more accurate than any tire pressure gauge you can buy. I have tire pressure gauge for the motorcycle and I regularly check to make sure its readings match the readings I get from my CX5 TPMS sensors.

If you have the black/rubber tire valves/caps, that means you don't have the sensors in each wheel and TPMS works by calculating rotational speed of each wheel and doing some kind of math there. No sensors or signals sent in this case so there is no receiver you can buy to make this work.

Add slime to the tires. Buy a few extra tubes. Keep an eye on the folding mechanism (don't constantly push and pull as you ride, don't fight AGAINST the road via the stem). Also, this is cool...

to my knowledge, that year it didnt. hence the reason i said pulse the throttle. little bursts of low gear input and it should give more grip than normal. then again, i got THESEfor a friend with an older non crawl tacoma. worked like a charm

It's true. She gets ridden hard and put away wet and muddy!

So I've got a Tusk Front Fender Tube pack with tire irons

It comfortably holds a 21" tube as well as this awesome Stop & Go moto air compressor. I usually air my tires down for off road so when I have to ride it back down the canyon to get home I'll stop and air them back up. Takes ~10 minutes total between stopping, getting everything out, airing back up, and putting it all away and makes a huge difference both on and off road. Plugs into a battery tender plug, car charger, or has battery leads if you have neither. But it's awesome because it's so light and small! and you get tire irons too!

u/blumhagen · 1 pointr/motorcycles

I just got an electric pump that is powered by my battery tender lead (SAE connector) Way easier because it has a flex hose on it, & I can air up or down anywhere.

It's the stop & go compressor. (note the gauge isn't too accurate, few psi low, I paired it up with an inline gauge that I trust)

https://www.amazon.ca/Stop-Go-RCP-Mini-Air-Compressor/dp/B00388NUPI

u/croninsiglos · 1 pointr/teslamotors

You could use this

21 mm socket

Throw a breaker bar in your cart too, (might be shown in the frequently bought together section). You aren't supposed to use the torque wrench to get the lug nuts off, only to put them on.

u/BigRedS · 1 pointr/MotoUK

Yeah, I've got one of these:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/RAC-HP223-Compact-Air-Compressor/dp/B00BYORVMG

which looks identical to the one in that Stop and Go kit.

u/matt2001 · 1 pointr/teslamotors

Lug nuts are kind of long and you might not have a good grip with a shallow socket - that could cause rounding of the corners. Here is a 21mm socket.

u/Kimington · 1 pointr/Tools

The mini digital inflators work well but make sure you get a good one like this. If you are going the air compressor route, I suggest using all 1/4" NPT equipment (fittings/couplers) to connect to a good tire inflator gauge. I suggest using industrial type D fitting, which comes included in the FlowPro kit. That way, you just need to make sure you have the matching coupler.

u/sthulin · 1 pointr/fordfusion

When mine swelled up (and it’s very common cause it’s just a cap on them) I purchased these and never looked back: McGard 64015 Chrome/Black Bulge Cone Seat Style Lug Nuts (M12 x 1.5 Thread Size) - Set of 4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000COS0H4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_DW0DAbFCCNQ9T

u/idealwatercup · 1 pointr/Wheels

okay thanks so much for all the info. hard to find all this stuff when you don't have much hands on experience with it lol

so assuming the enkeis use a tapered seat if I went with this set of 12x1.5 lug nuts, the motorsport tech adapters, and then the enkei wheels themselves I should be good to go?

u/bbiigg23 · 1 pointr/cars

I wonder if it would be any harder to get off something like this. I would think the round edge would make it a lot more difficult to pound into a larger socket. I'm guessing a large set of vice grips would still get through it though.

McGard 24538 Chrome Cone Seat Wheel Locks (1/2" - 20 Thread Size) - Set of 5 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000COMX3Q/ref=cm\_sw\_r\_cp\_apa\_i\_YTf2Bb0RCBPZM

They are great. Especially when your tires are fine but your TPMS light goes on, you immediately know it's the sensor and not your tires.

here's something very similar:

u/Riverdales27 · 1 pointr/Camry

I just used flat black krylon 2 in 1 spray paint from Walmart, two bottles only. Rustloeum makes good spray paint specifically for wheels but I think that's online only.

Hubcaps you'll need to know your size. I got them after seeing another user on here with it.

u/HippolytaClarra · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

Glad you like yours! It's important to have a good inflator gauge because you can hook it up to a compressor with the proper fittings/couplers, or just use it as a standable pressure reader without compressor... I really like the digital type, IMO they are more accurate. The best one I have used to date is the FlowPro series by JACO products. This one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ETWXEWA

u/kevohreal · 1 pointr/teslamotors

Do it yourself. Go buy an air compressor like this one, set it to the recommended PSI, flip on the switch and you're good to go.

u/throfofnir · 1 pointr/teslamotors

Looks to be a 21mm. You can get non-marring sockets. A decent clicker torque wrench with 130 lb-ft in the middle of its range will work for you; be sure to get one that matches your socket (probably 1/2").

Its more than 2 seconds in snow for following distances,

https://www.drive-safely.net/s

This site recommends 6-10 secs

also they make some neat snow accessories for tires if chains are not allowed.

They make accessories to put on tires once stuck also.

Also down shifting into a lower gear in automatics works wonders in for slowing down without braking hard.
