PROTIP:

Go to any drugstore and look on the bottom shelf for Certain Dri for about $5

Follow directions (by applying nightly), put on any regular deoderant you like during the day, and enjoy being sweat free FOREVER

Ouch, that looks painful! You may want to see a doctor for antibiotics to clear that up. Afterwards, invest in a good aftercare spray to keep it clean. H2Ocean Piercing Aftercare Spray worked wonders for my daith piercing. It's such a difficult place to access, the spray did a really good job of getting into all the cracks. Because it's cartilage, it will take up to 6 months to properly heal. Try not to sleep on it, and if it gets a bit crusty, soak a cotton ball in the spray and let it sit on the piercing for a bit. Good luck!

I don't have pictures of my pre-ScA skin, so those are the earliest ones I have.

I like to use this. I just rinse it off after each use and then hang it to dry and that one is really good bc it comes with replacement pads. Obviously, it helps if you can use it with a mirror imo, that's the way I do it and it really works well. Some people have complained about slinging product off of it when they try to get it on their backs etc. But the trick is anyway even if I'm using some exfoliant/acid product that is super liquidy- I mix it with some moisturizer and it works like a charm. Also spread it around on the applicator so it's not just a big pile of goop and then you up the odds your distribution of skin care goop on the back of your body is going to be uniform and pleasant.

I call it a loofah too and you search on amazon for loofahs and they show up called loofahs. Internet has to be all achktually.

Do you use it against sweat or odour? If you use it against sweat, try certain dri or something similar. Use it 3 days in a row and then once a week. You won't sweat AT ALL. Just don't use it anywhere else.

u/BastiTheBard · 13 pointsr/onebag

I've had excellent luck with mesh soap bags. You put the soap inside and then you can hang the bag up and the mesh allows the soap to dry. This works particularly well for me because I shower at night, so the soap is dry when I pack up in the morning.

But even if you shower in the morning it should help. I pack the soap in the mesh bag inside of my toiletry kit and it doesn't get everything all soapy, and it doesn't deteriorate into nothing from staying wet and rubbing around a container for a long time.

These are the ones that I bought that have been pretty good.

Try the hippie-style underarm crystal thing. It doesn't smell like anything and doesn't keep you from sweating, but it does prevent bacteria from growing and thus keeps you from smelling. It's the underarm pinnacle IMO.

Edit: as someone else posted, here's an example.

Edit 2: The crystals are potassium alum aka potassium aluminum sulfate. Traditional antiperspirants are aluminum chloride. The distinction is as follows: The difference between potassium alum and aluminum chlorohydrate is that potassium alum is a much larger molecule, not thought to be absorbable through human skin. The difference between these two that I experienced is night & day - traditional antiperspirants have me reeking as soon as I miss a single day. In contrast the potassium alum crystal is very forgiving and I never smell bad, even if I miss a day. Everyone's own experience is the thing that matters here, and I'm just putting this out there since it gets so little press.

Probably:

The twist: it is actually an antiperspirant

u/mrnaiceguy · 9 pointsr/tifu

Just get one of these http://www.amazon.com/Skyroad-Quality-Exfoliating-Mitten-package/dp/B00CA8ZEIS
and stay in your tub for like 30 min and try scrubbing yourself with it. You know its working when the dead skin/dirt starts peeling, if it hurts you're going at it to hard

So, I've tried a ton of "natural" deodorants in my quest for a safer alternative to conventional antiperspirants, here's what I've got.

My absolute and utter favorite is the Crystal Essence roll on. It comes in a few scents and has a , it does not leave a residue and is the absolute closest thing you can find to a natural antiperspirant. As long as you apply it to clean skin, it does the job well. Basically, it's my holy grail of deodorants.

Other common natural deodorant sticks, like Tom's, Alba, Nature's Gate, etc.. the deo will go on "wet" feeling and tend to stay that way until it dries. Which can be uncomfortable/annoying for most people. I've found most of these will leave a residue behind.

Natural spray deodorants are so-so, from what I've found. The Weleda rose spray deo works pretty well but can smell alittle weird after awhile. No residue though!

Get some of this stuff and use as directed.

I use it once per week and I have literally no sweat in my armpits at all. I used to get so sweaty I’d have to dry myself off a couple times per day.

u/HoneyMuff · 7 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Something like this or this is what I use, some Asian markets have them in the soap section.

u/heathersavvy · 7 pointsr/homemaking

Are you talking about these? If they are plastic mesh, they likely melted.

u/cesiumk · 7 pointsr/LifeProTips

Apply Certain Dri the night before. Put on your favorite smelling deodorant (not antiperspirant) in the morning.

u/chordsimple · 6 pointsr/yoga

Another vote for the crystal deodorant...the key is to apply a lot fresh out of the shower. It works by inhibiting the smelly bacteria from starting to grow...once it's there the deodorant can't do anything. But as long as you do that it works great! I like the chamomile one but the unscented is fine too.

u/zombiehoffa · 5 pointsr/wicked_edge

I was just busting your balls;) I think it's more that I'm a 300 lb dude, so I have way more surface area to wash than to shave;)

I wet myself down then rub the soap bar on various places to get just enough soap on my body for a nice lather, then use a salux nylon japanese beauty skin bath wash towel (highly recommend, I used to use a loofa and a wash cloth and this thing blows away both of them and is super cheap) It's very exfoliating, plus dries super quick so no bacterial issues (unlike the loofa that has a constant wet spot in the middle) and behaves like a wash towel, which is super useful for getting those hard to reach places like your back.

Have you tried salt sticks? I can't attest to their efficacy personally, but my friend uses them, is prone to sweating, and does not smell. I think you're supposed to use them for a few weeks before they reach their full "potential".

Alright I am a guy, that sweat a lot (mainly arm pits). About 3 weeks ago I bought an anti-presperant called Certain Dri(link goes to amazon.com page) and my arm pits haven't sweat even a bead of sweat since. Even when I work out!

I apply it when I go to bed at night. It is odorless, clear and not sticky or anything. It works overnight to shrink the sweat pores.

I've heard it works on feet and other areas, so you could at least try it.

Good luck!

u/biteableniles · 4 pointsr/LifeProTips

Better LPT: Prevent yellow pit stains by not sweating at all. Use Certain Dri (not affiliate amazon link: Certain Dri) and then use normal deodorant.

I know you have probably tried a million things, and i hope my suggestion isn't upsetting, but have you tried Lavilin? I have/had a similar issue with odor for a long time (I am not sure if it is related to my traumas) and it is the only thing that really worked.

Zero Sweat

I live in Texas and it is hot and humid here most of the year. I have been dealing with my right armpit sweating uncontrollably for years. It could be the middle of winter and my right arm would sweat through a thick sweatshirt even if I was standing outside.

I have tried many different products like Mitchum Clincal anti-perspirant, many different versions of Degree and so on. I could be sitting in an air conditioned office wearing a thin cotton t-shirt and my right arm pit would be sweating like I just ran 5 miles. My left arm was fine. I looked up why only my right arm pit was doing this but could not really find an answer. I was even considering getting botox injections to stop this. I decided to look on amazon for some underarm pads and was about to buy some when I saw other customers had also bought Zerosweat I read many of the reviews and saw some people had issues with burning after being applied. As I kept reading I did notice that was mostly people that took a shower at night and then applied Zerosweat. I went ahead and bought it really hoped it worked but I was expected to be let down again. Well I wasn't!

Zerosweat arrived on a Sunday and I applied it about an hour before I went to bed, just in case it started burning or I had a bad reaction to it I could wash it off. I applied it with 2 strokes down and up and that's it. I did experience a slight sting/itchy feeling in the middle of the night but nothing that was terrible. I woke up the next morning, took my shower, applied my regular deodorant and got ready for work. Usually after about 30 minutes my right arm pit is sweating and it is soaked through my t shirt, but not this day. I had no sweat from my right arm all day. That night I applied Zerosweat again an hour before I went to bed. Again I had a slight sting/itchy feeling but still nothing that was out of the ordinary. Tuesday was the same thing, no sweat at all from my right arm. That night I did not apply zerosweat because it should last a few days and not have to be applied every day. The next morning was the same results. No sweat at all from my right arm and I had not applied it since Monday night.

I am in love with this product and will continue to use it for as long as they make it. My shirts are now saved!

Here are some things that I have found help for me at least:

1.) The biggest one is manscaping. Honestly. I bought a $20 set of clippers from walmart, and it has worked wonders. My pits are the biggest offender, so I use a #1 guard on the clippers, and take care of them. Less hair means less surface area for bacteria to grow an cling to.

2.) When showering, is use a basic shower brush. It is abrasive enough to feel like it is really clearing everything away, with the added benefit of exfoliation.

3.) Using a moisturizing bar of soap. My normal process is: rinse, soap, brush, rise, soap, brush, rinse.

4.) Others have mentioned Certain Dri which you apply at night before bed, and works wonders. I also rotate between 3 different deodorants/antiperspirants from day to day. If I only use 1, it is like my skin develops a resistance to it. My brain wants to say that is total crap, but I get better results by rotating. I then hit my chest with a light spray of body spray, like Axe. A little goes a long way with these. Srsly. After I am dressed, I use one squirt of cologne and I'm good to go.

Hope some of these help. Hang in there brother!

The suggestion to use “Natural deodorant” is absurd. My guess is the author has zero experience with Hyperhidrosis and thinks natural solutions fix all possible problems. This reeks of being rooted in a Naturalistic Fallacy. Not only does the author tersely recommend “natural deodorant”, but they also failed to mention which one works, suggesting absolutely zero research into the subject, after all, surely there are natural deodorants that don't work, right?

For people who want a real solution, my best recommendation is to use a very powerful anti-persperant called Certain DRI, which is not to be confused with what's just a moderately powerful anti-persperant+deodorant called Certain DRI A.M. You may have to go to a Pharmacy to find it, but at least it's over-the-counter.

Things to know:

  • Certain DRI (the right one) is to be used the night-before as you are on your way to bed, not the morning of like most things you're used to.

  • It may take 2 or 3 nights to start working. (But when it works, it's damn effective).

  • May tingle a bit at first but you get used to it and won't notice that after a couple weeks.

  • Be careful not to over-use it, as that tingle could turn into a pain.

  • Annecdotally, the roll-on version is stronger than the white-stuff, but I can't personally attest to that since I haven't ever tried it.

  • Never apply it to shaved skin, or you will suffer from pain.

  • Don't overdose on the stuff like this guy and cause your sweat glans to stop working for over a year.

The Certain DRI A.M. is just like any other deodorant, and is used the morning you need it. Not particularly impressive, as it's on par with a stick of Mitchum Advanced Control.

Hopefully this will help anybody who's ruining their shirts or feels forced to wear undershirts.

I found these wash cloths to be really helpful. Doesn’t clear it entirely, but helps reduce the amount of bumps from KP pretty drastically. This plus a lotion like AmLactin or something with an AHA to help moisturize/turnover should do the trick.

u/Nparallelopposite · 3 pointsr/axolotls

I'll just give you my generalize copy/pasta I usually hand out in situations like these so if you wanna read it when you got a chance, then you have it! Also has tips and purchase links for Amazon as well for different axolotl stuffs.

HOW TO CYCLE:

  1. Set up tank with clean conditioned water. 2. Add recommended amount of beneficial bacteria per label

  2. Add "waste" to the tank, so a little bit of say fish flakes ( they're cheap and you need a waste source since you DO NOT put a fish or axolotl in a uncycled tank. The flakes are gonna break down into ammonia. The goal with cycling is to get benefical bacteria to build up so they can change (eat) the waste & breaks down the ammonia into nitrite then finally break it down further into nitrate. All these chemicals can hurt axolotl.

  3. Test tank a couple days later with a testing kit ( avoid strips, they will lie to you and give false results) if there is ANY ammonia or nitrite present, you arent cycled. If there is no nitrate present either, you arent cycled.

  4. If you find ammonia or nitrite, take 50% of the water out and add clean treated water. Add more seachem stability ( benefical bacteria) ( add these each time you change water. Even if it's cycled)

  5. Add a pinch more flakes & Continue to do this until your tank is cycled. Meaning you have no ammonia, no nitrite and a presence of 40ppm or less of nitrate.

    Warnings:
1.If your tank isn't cycled, you are going to chemical burn them with ammonia in the water. And they will suffer. Nitrate ( the final of the chemical process) can also burn the fish/axolotl. This is why we keep this number under 40ppm. If it is higher than 40ppm, change the water 75%.

  6. This beneficial bacteria lives in the filter. If you change your filter, you just ruined your cycle. Don't do this. If it gets nasty/clogged & you have to replace the cartirage, leave the old cartirage in with the new one for a few days so the beneficial bacteria can inhabit the new filter. If you can avoid replacing that, just rinse/gently squeeze out the filter in old tank water when you do clean the tank to keep from murdering the bacteria
  7. Letting the filter dry out will also kill a cycle.

  8. *NOTE: Most bottles of beneficial bacteria say they cycle a tank in a day. Cycling can take up to a month in some cases but usually just two weeks if you keep on it. This requires constantly monitoring, testing and replacing most of the water in the tank when you get high ammonia/nitrite levels. You need ammonia/nitrite to be 0 and nitrate to be more than 0. Definitely less <40. If all your levels are higher than this, or if nitrate remains 0, your tank isn't cycled.***

    Summery;
So basically, cycling builds beneficial bacteria which makes these waste breakdown chemicals go through a cycle of breaking down into a less dangerous form which keeps fish/axolotl from getting sick/dying. ... Most new fish people don't do this. And fish store employees try & tell them just adding something like seachem stability fixes this. It doesn't. An uncycled tank is basically new tank syndrome and it kills animals.

You still are going to need to keep an eye on chemical levels after the cycle..Occasionally different things can cause the cycle to "crash", like changing the filters or a high tempeture, or the filters becoming dry..

Once your tank is cycled, and you have an axolotl, honestly it's not that much work. The cycles the worst part. I feed my adult axolotls once every other day, I change 75% of their water twice a month, and add water to top it off / spot clean occasionally two-three other times a month due to the water I lose due to evaporation.

    Stuff you'll need:
  9. Air stone+ airline+ air pump ( cheap ones are at Walmart.
  10. Seachem stability ( beneficial bacteria)
  11. Seachem prime ( it's a water conditioner I just prefer seachem)
  12. A tank, 10 gallon minimum for 1 axolotl. But the bigger the better.
  13. A filter
  14. Hides for the axolotl
  15. A syphon / water vacuum ( to suck out the poo/change water easy. I have a long food grade plastic hose I got from Ace hardware. I syphon and let it drain into the yard
  16. A bucket
  17. A Tupperware
  18. A fan. Literally any fan you can put on top the tank and point at it will work. I have a table fan sitting on top my tank and blowing at the water to help keep it cool. A chiller is best, but they are expensive.
  19. A tank thermometer ( don't get the thermometer strips, they lie
  20. A master fresh water test kit.
  21. Worms or repashy or pellets

buy this stuff or H2Ocean

you can buy the saline wash at walmart, walgreens, etc. H2Ocean is sold at some of those places, but if you go to a tattoo/piercing place, they will have it too.

let your ear soak in that stuff and it should help clean the area.

i know what its like sleeping and having your ears get irritated, i had to take one of mine out because it got too irritated and started to get infected, the hole is closed now.

Maybe you can try sleeping with a captive bead ring? since its not a stud, it wont poke the back of your head

  1. Is PocketDerm available in your region? This looks like something an oral antibiotic and some gentler treatments could help resolve.

  2. You're using a lot of really harsh treatments. Does your skin ever feel tight and dry in areas, and oily in other areas? If so, your face is oily because your skin is trying to re-hydrate itself. It's important to be kind to your skin.

  3. Over-hydrating skin isn't a thing I've ever heard of, and if it does exist then you are definitely not in danger of doing it. Not even close.

I would get rid of everything you're doing and start fresh, with much gentler products.

  • Try Vanicream Free and Clear. It's gentler, and doesn't have fatty alcohols. CeraVe Foaming can dry out skin, and dry skin is bad.

  • You can use a konjac sponge a few times per week for gentle physical exfoliation. Don't over use it though, we don't want to irritate your skin!

  • I love Sebamed Clear Face Gel as a moisturizer. It helps repair your acid mantle and rebalance your skin's pH.

  • Where's your sunscreen, man?! EltaMD makes a good one.

  • If you decide to try OCM, consider using Neem Oil. Tons of people here have had success with it.

  • CHECK YOUR SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER. If you have bacne you might be further irritating it with ingredients in your shampoo and conditioner.

A couple of the items listed are a bit pricey, but they're so great, in my opinion. The Sebamed, especially. And the PocketDerm. If you try these and your skin improves, you can try slowly reintroducing your harsh treatments. Try to love your skin, not beat it into submission.

I loved this! For the deodorant, the only aluminum free one that worked for me was Lavilin deodorant (http://www.amazon.com/Lavilin-Underarm-Deodorant-Cream-12-5/dp/B0013OXEFU). It's a cream so it's kind of a hassle to put on.

For the sunscreen do you mind a whitecast?

u/KitSnicket18 · 2 pointsr/AsianBeauty

Looks like they do make a black one. It is currently out of stock in their Amazon store but the picture is still there. The one OP got looks legit and may have just been bought a while ago and resold now.

Again, I like Bathhouse's so far. I used to use Eau de Minimes, which smells heavenly and works well, but stopped after seeing it had a medium-high rating on the EWG database (but then I read that the EWG may not be the most trustworthy, so I might try it again). Soapwalla's and Lush's Aromaco also work great, but irritated my armpits because of the baking soda over time (my bf still uses Aromaco without problem, though). Also have read amazing things about Lavilin but haven't tried it.

You should check out /r/SkincareAddiction or /r/asianbeauty , the sidebar has some great tips and recommendations for beginners. Don't forget to introduce one product at a time at intervals of two week, so that if you react badly to something, you know what caused it.

Face-

Cleanser- Use a pH balanced cleanser like cetaphil or cerave. There's other great products listed on the subreddit if those don't work out for you. Your face is a bit acidic and basic cleansers ruin the acidity, resulting in dry skin.

Exfoliate - Chemical exfoliation is the way to go as physical exfoliation can damage the skin if done incorrectly or done too frequently, not to mention you can chemically exfoliate daily. Exfoliation can be categorized into BHA and AHA and the distinction between the two can be found here. Chemical exfoliation is used after cleansing and drying the face and has to be left in for about 20-30 minutes before moisturizing.

Moisturize - Finding the right moisturizer is more difficult for some than others and a great place to start is by looking at the recommended ones in the above subreddits.

Sunscreen - Suncreens can be separated into physical and chemical and many prefer physical over the chemical because it usually offers better protection and is better for sensitive skin, but physical sunscreen can also come with the side effect of leaving a white cast. Not all do so it's important to research and find one that doesn;t. If I remember correctly a spf of 30 and above is recommended and don't forget that you also need protection from UVA rays in addition to the UVB rays as spf only accounts for UVB.

Other - There's more advanced stuff like Vitamin C serums and such but it's better not to get into that right from the beginning. Also change out your pillow sheet often and drink lots of water.

Body-

Your body isn't as sensitive as you face so as long as you wash, moisturize, and use sunscreen, you should be fine. Personally, I use this every other day with a body wash and moisturize with this, but it's only because I have some acne scars on my body and I'm trying to get rid of them.

u/llDasll · 2 pointsr/bootroom

I'm beginning to wonder if they stopped making it. My kid used to get the worst blisters and we'd have that in the soccer bag at all times. It worked great, but the last time I was at CVS, they didn't have it.

Edit: just saw that they did indeed discontinue it :/ It looks like Gold Bond's is just as good.

u/sarah-bellum · 2 pointsr/loseit

If it's helpful at all, this stuff has been a literal godsend for me. I had tried every kind of deodorant/antiperspirant you could think of before this and none work as well as this one.

Not sure it will be much help to you if you're primarily sweating from your face/head etc., but for someone who sweats a lot from their pits and inner thighs, this has been a game changer.

Super dooper

Hello! My week has been a little frustrating. I went to the dentist tonight because I had really bad jaw pain. Thought I had a cavity in my tooth but I didn’t. Instead I apparently have super bad TMJ in my jaw joint so that’s great. The thing I’d like from my list if I win is the Yerba Prima Skin Brush. I heard dry brushing your skin is supposed to be good for it. It also looks relaxing so I’d like to give it a try!

You don't have to shave your armpits, just trim them. You need to get the hair short enough for the deodorant to reach skin. I use a 2 guard on my trimmer every couple of weeks.

Then, use Crystal hippie deodorant, I prefer the liquid roll-on. It's not a traditional deodorant nor is it an anti-perspirant, it's a salt stick. The salts dehydrate and kill the bacteria that cause B.O.

You'll still sweat, but your sweat won't smell bad; instead you will smell pleasantly neutral. It also won't turn the armpits of all your shirts yellow, nor will anti-perspirant residue run off onto your shirts and get pits all crusty. The Crystal hippie deodorant still has aluminum, but it's a different compound that your body won't absorb. Super hippies still won't use it, but they stink, so that's the tradeoff.

u/zonumnire · 2 pointsr/LushCosmetics

I use this which looks like a round version of what you use!

I have one of the round tube things you linked in your post, and it is awful. I don't understand how anyone can use them!

u/dragonx254 · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

You could always try Gamer Grip. It's a tad on the expensive side but you can make it last, and it DOES actually work, from personal experience.

Otherwise yeah, maybe a new shell or grip attachment could help, but I have no experience with those things.

u/staticrank · 2 pointsr/AsianBeauty

So I did some searching and this product was recommended for exfoliating KP. I guess you soak in the bath first and then exfoliate. Could be similar to what you'd get using the gloves but it is a Korean product haha.

u/lespritducellier · 2 pointsr/LushCosmetics

You probably can't use this on your face but if you want to use it on your body you could put it in one of these, that's what I do with my shampoo bars when they turn into little thin fragments.

u/smug_lobster · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

The skin on your arms and legs generally is much stronger for most people and can withstand more physical exfoliation. If you'd like to try a popular and cheap method, I suggest Italy Towels.

I have fair and sensitive skin and even though I scrub my body with these after soaking in a warm bath, I am not left with any red bumps or irritation. The dead skin sloughs off and I am left with really soft skin for a week or two. Just don't use it too much on any areas that have open wounds or a significant amount of acne. Ouch.

u/Callque · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I've been able to extend the wear out of my clothes by wearing a cotton tank underneath my tops (I love the $2 ones from F21, they're 100% cotton and wash & breathe really well), switching to Himalayan crystal salt deodorant (this one is my favorite), hanging up my clothes immediately upon arriving home, and switching to natural fabrics. The tank will absorb most of the sweat and keep your clothes clean, and the salt deodorant will kill any odor-causing bacteria while also relieving you of gross smelling old deodorant mixed with sweat smells in your shirts. Hanging your clothes up when you get home lets them air out sufficiently to where you should be able to get 2-3 wears out of them. Synthetic fibers don't allow your clothes to breathe so they will trap in the smell. My linen/cotton/silk shirts can go WAY longer without being washed than my polyester ones. The only way I can get more than one wear out of a synthetic top is if it's sleeveless.

u/Abrasiveadvisory · 2 pointsr/LifeProTips

I usually stop around 3-4:00 PM and figure out where I want to stop that night, then call ahead if I'm getting a hotel room and make a reservation somewhere. You can also read-up on camping on BLM or NFS lands, either campgrounds or remote. State parks also may have campgrounds.

I carry a tire plug kit. This will save you massive amounts of time if you get a flat in a remote area. Watch a few youtube videos if you've never used one and you should be fine.

I also carry a small 12v cigarette-lighter-powered air compressor for reinflating the tire, and a tire pressure gauge because I don't trust the ones on the cheap pumps.

If you are going to travel through remote areas in the west always carry some food and water.

Buy one of those sponges with the nylon netting on the outside or a loofah or one of these. You'll probably want to clean the windshield of dead bugs more often than just when you get gas. Bring a jug of water to assist. Carry an extra jug of wiper fluid.

Research the historical day/night temperatures if you will be traveling in the inter-mountain west. It can actually get quite cold at night if you're camping. Pack appropriate clothing. Monsoon season in the desert southwest can go to early October. Assume you might get rained-on a bit.

Check state DOT websites for conditions ahead at high mountain passes in the Rockies and the Sierras. Some of them start closing due to snow by mid-September.

If you are going to more than two or three national parks buy the annual pass for $80 at the first park you go to. It will pay for itself several times over.

IMHO carrying a bunch of spare parts or tools is overkill but a spare headlamp bulb and a package of assorted zip ties aren't a bad investment. Make sure your brakes are in good condition before you leave if you are driving in mountain areas.

I carry a paper road atlas as I find it useful for longer-distance planning than zooming in/out on an ipad or phone. You can get Rand McNally Road atlasses near the checkouts at a lot of Walmarts.

You'll find that the octane levels of gasoline sold at high altitudes is a few points lower than at sea level. Using 85 octane in a car that usually uses 87 is fine, etc.. Pay attention to the labeling on the pumps elsewhere. At certain places in the Midwest gas stations sell high-ethanol mixes that are inappropriate for non flex-fuel cars. They will still sell the regular stuff, just pay attention to the labels.

Know that this sign means that you can come upon cows standing in the road at any time. Avoid driving these roads at night, or at least keep the speed down and be prepared.

Do you think a konjac sponge would be comparable to a natural fiber loofah sponge like this one or is there something about the texture that is special?

I just recently realized that I actually have the plant that produces the natural fiber loofah sponges in my backyard, so I tried one out yesterday! Should I get a konjac plant too? :P

u/annaqua · 2 pointsr/NaturalBeauty

To be fair, a sea sponge is an organic item--it's an animal! As such, it will disintegrate in your shower eventually, just like any other organic item would, including, eventually, a natural brush (and just like a typical loofah definitely will NOT--since they're plastic :).

You may try a Konjac Sponge, though they're not meant to be used with soap, and they also disintegrate since they're plant matter.

Another alternative is a true loofah, though they are not particularly soft like a plastic loofah.

Or, if you really don't want to try something organic (plant or animal), you could get a recycled plastic loofah.

I’ve had my industrial for almost 10 years now and it hurt for the first few. Honestly couldn’t sleep on that side for 2 years.

HIGHLY recommend H2Ocean Spray. Game changer for me back then! I was very very concerned about scar tissue/keloids after my friend experienced that.

I use to sit with my ear in glass Tupperware to soak it like 10 min twice a day but this spray is awesome. And amazon still shows that I last purchased this in 2010. I think you can also find it at hot topic.

Good luck!!!

Sounds a lot like me. I had horrible reaction to everything. OCM with mineral oil gave me the worst, most painful pimples. I did this about two months ago and my skin is still healing.

I would never put cerave tub lotion on my face, but their PM lotion works well for me, it's a lot lighter and gentler.

For cleansing I use the Konjac Sponge. No chemicals, just a light physical exfoliation that works very very well for me. I do it every night and it's amazing.

I don't have any other suggestions, I'm still trying to figure my routine out, but with what I'm doing now (Konjac and Cerave PM in the evenings) my skins much healthier, I get a pimple here and there, but it's mostly good.

I recommend some of this also for the potential chafing: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YBNC9CE/

It's cheaper than the body glide that gets recommended and so far for me has worked just as well.

Make sure to take it slow. I'm lighter than you but still far too heavy for my height at 5'9" 252 (started at 259 a couple of weeks ago) and I overdid the pace on week 1 days 2 and 3 and now am stuck doing low impact work due to knee pain. I don't know what sorts of deodorants you've tried but I use the roll-on Crystal deodorant and LOVE IT.
Tbh I don't generally sweat a ton but in the summer in the South it does a great job of countering disgusting boob sweat, which is a major accomplishment.
It doesn't have a scent and even when I do end up sweating a decent amount, it doesn't smell like anything.

What I did to clear my back:

  1. Changed shampoo to a more natural formula without SLS.(If you have a Trader Joe's near your area I suggest you check there they have pretty ideal shampoos that are most likely free of chemicals, just make sure it isn't anything like coconut oil or something that can cause breakouts.)

  2. In the shower I use the Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash with a konjac sponge which provides very gentle exfoliation that could help in reducing acne breakouts. Now I make sure this is the last step I do in the shower to ensure that none of my shampoo residue is left on my skin. If you are not very familiar with how konjac sponges work it is basically a sponge that is "hard" when dry, but once it is soaked in water it turns soft almost "mushy" which is the state you would use it in. Basically you add a bit of your cleanser to the sponge, foam it a bit, and rub it gently on your back. Then when you finish using it you rinse the cleanser and water out of the sponge, hang it up somewhere dry so the sponge itself could dry, and it will actually go back to its initial state of dry "hard", which by the way makes it antibacterial. And so the process repeats when you put water on it again.

  3. Once out of the shower Stridex! These really helped a lot and they are so convenient and easy to use you can't go wrong. After, patting your back dry just swipe a stridex pad all over and your good to go. Stridex

  4. Another tip would be to consider changing your laundry detergent to something more gentle and free of chemicals that can sometimes irritate your skin and cause breakouts. I recommend this brand detergent they even have mighty pacs which those are the ones I use. Also, you might want to avoid fabric softeners with a lot of fragrance (I personally do not even add any to my clothes as I feel it doesn't make a major difference), but if you feel the need to I am sure that same brand carries some.

  5. Also, try to change your pillow/slash bed sheets more often. Point is try to ensure the area where you rest you back at night is clean. Either by sleeping with a clean shirt on everyday or something. I actually take a thin light blanket and fold it, then every night I refold it to get another area of the blanket that is clean, and I usually wash this once a week to ensure that it actually remains clean.

  6. Maybe cut back on dairy a bit, if you consume too much. If not, then maybe that isn't really a problem.

And that is how I cleared my back fairly well. It may seem like a lot, but it's really not haha. Good luck!

u/thekateruth · 1 pointr/Entrepreneur

I agree with /u/rorowhat in that the brands need some work. People aren't going to order a basket for things they can easily buy right now. Adding in some products people may not know of like these body scrubbers (which are absolutely amazing, and work 100% better than a loofah) would be a good idea. Also more artisanal soaps/lotions. The type of people who are buying this basket won't care if it adds $5-8 if they get cooler stuff they otherwise wouldn't have learned about. Additionally, it may be a good idea to have baskets with a certain focus-- hair/body/face etc. I'm finicky about shampoos and body washes, as many people are, so I'd be more likely to buy a box with things like: lip balm, hand lotion, cuticle cream, nail file, sheet mask than the box you have. Or if you want to stay more cleanliness oriented even: floss, motorized tooth brush (you can send replacement heads for repeat customers rather than traditional tooth brushes), mouth wash, hand soap, artisanal bar soap, scrubber, poo pourri, etc.
I'd caution you on using shampoo/deodorant as a staple, because a lot of the time they depend on the person's body.

You had some grammatical errors in the "about us" tab, which I'm cleaning up. I work as an editor for a few of my Uni's publications, and the About Us really stood out to me. I strongly urge you to tidy some of the errors, as they seem unprofessional. I'm also rewording some redundancies and taking out info I think is crimping your style.

Idk your target demo, but from a perspective of a broke college student who has to pay all her own bills: I can't afford $30 for someone to ship me toothpaste and whatnot. No, it's not cheaper for me to pay you $30 when 80% of the products in the basket I don't have any use for. The broke college kid in me would not use this service. It seems like your target market needs to be 25-45-somethings (mom's of college students would probably love to send this as a care package to their kids). You're targeting people with extra cash, who will want to try new soaps, lotions, body scrubs, etc. As such, I removed all talk of your age/your friends' opinions. Your age doesn't matter. Your friends don't matter. Your client matters. You need to relate to them as much as possible.

Here is a retouched version with what I think is a stronger about-me. I don't mean to step on your toes or anything, but since that section sounded a bit eh to me, it's what I focused on:

----------

Like many concepts, HYGEIA CLUB was born out of a desire for convenience. Founder Paul Parker brainstormed various hygienic issues with his friends and coworkers, and found that the biggest issues most people had were running out of product. Who really wants brave the store on a Saturday for toothpaste? There had to be a way to never run out of floss that doesn't constitute purchasing a 42 pack; HYGEIA CLUB was born.

We automatically deliver a care package, filled with essential toiletries, right to your door. Never again will you worry about running out of hand soap or fresh toothbrushes. What's more, we're still less expensive than what you can pick up at your local store, including delivery. Simple enough, right? We think so too.

-----------

If you want to keep your working and fix the errors, here that is:

-----------

Like many concepts, HYGEIA CLUB was born out of necessity. Founder Paul Parker began discussing his various hygienic issues with other college colleagues, ^ which ranged ^ [[[colons do not go here]]] from running low on toothpaste (and never wanting to run to the store just for that one item) to never quite knowing when to replace his toothbrush. [[[ Paul's colleagues, ranging from freshman to senior level, Everyone agreed to having these situations and with such the idea for HYGEIA CLUB was born.]]] this whole sentence doesn't make sense, and you've already used some form of "range"

The issue(s) you need help with: I feel like a skin care disaster, I definitely need help developing a routine.

Skin type: Combo I guess? I have no idea. Some parts of my skin are dry and sensitive, like my eyelids. Others can be oily like my forehead. The pores on my nose are humongous and I'd like to reduce them. I was told my arms have keratosis pilaris but I never followed up with that.

Routine: I shower exclusively at night, occasionally using Public Goods Moisturizer and Lotion afterwards. I had been using Cerave but i got suckered into good marketing. I switch between using Ivory Aloe, Public Goods Body Wash, and Public Goods Bar Soap on Salux Wash Cloths. I was using a new loofah every month but I switched to the wash cloths and saw an improvement. Since I have three I was going to rotate them every few months but I realize i should probably wash and rotate them more often. I was also considering getting the Super Hard ones because my skin doesn't seem to be clearing up like it did when I first started using the cloths.

I live in deep south Texas where temps are already in the triple digits before noon, with humidity over 70%. Its absolutely miserable about 8 months out of the year here, so I've had to come up with tricks to combat melting into a puddle.

I use Dress Shields with blazers when I wear a sleeveless top underneath or sweaters I don't want to dry clean every time. They kind of remind me of a..... panty liner. Just peel, stick, and throw away after. You can cut them to fit for shorter sleeves, or even just in half and stick them under the sleeve of a sleeveless top.

Also, this stuff literally prevents sweat. Like, completely dry under arms. I use it every 3rd night. I still use antiperspirant during the day, but it makes whatever I wear all the more effective.

Make sure read the active ingredients in whatever antiperspirant you're already using. If its under 18% Aluminium chlorohydrate or aluminium-zirconium tetrachlorohydrate, its probably not enough to do any good.
Mitchum is one of the best drugstore options with a higher active ingredient percentage.

Also, aerosol deodorant (like that Axe stuff for men) works really well for other areas, like boob sweat, or small of the back.

For the above mentioned products that helped me from AHAVA - wanted to share their current sale and my refferal link. AHAVA is a company that is from Israel and uses Dead Sea salts and mud in their products. I have tried their Clineral Psoriasis body cream , Psoriasis shampoo, Scalp mask and liquid Dead Sea salt . Also tried their dead sea bath salts but it's not the best value, you can get Minera Dead Sea Salts for much less on Amazon.

My experience:
The body cream has soothed plaques within a few days of using twice a day, morning and evening after dry brushing my skin with this Yerba Prima brush. I would use Everyday Shea lavender lotion and argan oil and within 3-4 hours I would have dryness and flaking but the cream really packs in hydration and lasts until evening.

Shampoo and scalp mask have also lessened the flakes and redness of my scalp and ear area. The shampoo doesn't lather, but it softens scalp and has no synthetic fragrance.

I use the liquid dead sea salt before the bath and wait for it to dry. It will sting, especially on first few applications but it's great at protecting your wounds from becoming infected, and will lessen the thickness of plaques.

I don't work for them and haven't even received free samples, but it's helped me so much and today's their last day of buy 1 get 1 free sale with code SUNKISSED

Really hope ya'll don't mark this as spam because I've seen lots of improvement just in the few weeks I've been using the products. It's not a cure all! Just lessens itchiness and redness.

Gamer Grip is great, and sold by Scuf:

GamerGrip Total Grip Solution Stops Sweat On Hands for up To 4 Hours for all Sporting and Gaming Activities

People do call them that sometimes, but they are more properly termed poufs or puffs, to avoid confusion with the more abrasive natural loofah. Natural loofahs are made from the luffa plant and generally look something like this, this or this (they can make them in pretty much whatever shape) and they have a coarse texture designed to exfoliate (remove dead skin cells). Bath/shower puffs/poufs/poofs (however you want to spell it) on the other hand are generally made of synthetic fibers (usually nylon) and are much softer and easier on the skin, more suited for regular washing. Bottom line, a bath puff on your vajayjay wouldn't be so bad, but a natural loofah would probably hurt.

I have piercing solution from when I got my lobe pierced. He also told me to use anti bacterial soap. I bought this one https://www.amazon.com/H2Ocean-4oz-Piercing-Aftercare-Spray/dp/B0009F79EQ/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1502307009&sr=8-1&keywords=h20+piercing+solution

Anything like this one, I got my at target. Immediately after posting this, my husband actually commented on how soft my skin felt.

Get him some Gamer Grip, that stuff is great and under $15! https://www.amazon.com/GamerGrip-Total-Solution-Stops-Sweat-Hands/dp/B00W1T7B1O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480978490&sr=8-1&keywords=gamer+grip. Under $10 on the scufgaming.com site, but maybe end up more than Amazon after shipping. BTW-If you ever do look into buying him a Scuf, I would lookup Cinch instead. I have both and Cinch was cheaper and they are arguably equal in which one is better. Spending that kind of cash though, either way, it would be better to let the cat out of the bag and let him choose the build customization, unless you know exactly how he likes to play.

Thanks! Any idea if you are fine running unscented anti-perspirant, like this?

^ this is one of my favorite accessories while doing my AB routine. Cute, useful, and affordable!
Also, I really love their highlighter

This headband would make my day because my hair will not get in my face all the time. Make me Smile!

I have this problem too... sweat a lot (prolly genetics), though I am overweight(BMI over 30)

before losing weight, I had to use Certain Dri (get the Solid Version, not the roll-on one... solid works a lot better)... applied before sleeping, it works somewhat

I lost around 20 pounds in the past few months, perspire a lot less(but still more than other people)... maybe losing weight would help a little(doesn't hurt to try)... I'm still need to lose around 15 pounds more to hit a BMI of 25

been using this for years, it's fantastic. Looks like Walgreens sells it too.

Amazon has the 2-pack here https://www.amazon.com/Gold-Bond-Friction-Defense-Unscented/dp/B00YBNC9CE/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1522028121&sr=8-4

I use a brush similar to this: http://www.amazon.com/Yerba-Prima-Tampico-Brush-1xBRUSH/dp/B00016RIIA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1376313698&sr=8-4&keywords=dry+brush

Basically it's a rough bristle brush that you run over your body. It helps remove dead skin and it's ideal to give yourself a good scratch.

Saline solution is available in spray bottles -- the real question is what do you want to use it for?

Wow! I'm sorry they didn't work for you.

It makes me wonder if theres a brand difference, especially now that they are trendy. I use this brand (http://www.amazon.com/MY-Konjac-Sponge-Natural-Original/dp/B00H7M32FO/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=AWB787JH3NQF0) and have had good luck.

im glad you've found another use for them and they won't go to waste!

u/TheMadTherapist · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I ordered this Konjac sponge:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H7M32FO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It arrived 3 weeks ago and I started using it immediately. I week later the red spots showed up and yesterday I noticed the weird mold looking spot on the back.

I hang it up to dry and it stays in our clean shower. I don't use any red or black makeup that could cause the spots.

Is my Konjac sponge defective? I tried to google to find the answer but I couldn't find anything specifically about this.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Lavilin

We apply once every 3-5 days and it's been a pleasant experience. Doesn't stop sweat, just stops the smell; but I'm not a heavy sweater anyway.

u/Ezmchill · 1 pointr/xxfitness

Sure! I'm using this one you can just search body brush on amazon too and there's many!

My friend who binds recommended using lots of baby powder plus rubbing an anti-chafe stick on your nipples to keep them from rubbing and getting sore! Something like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00YBNC9CE/ref=mp_s_a_1_6_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1522879529&sr=8-6&keywords=anti+chafe+stick&dpPl=1&dpID=412863BaR3L&ref=plSrch

I used to use this on my thighs when i was a long -distance runner! I haven't tried my friend's advice yet (haven't gotten my binder in the mail yet -also from gc2b!). But they've been binding for a while! Good luck!

Here’s 7 day natural deodorant. On the condition that you bathe daily, though. It stops the bacteria that causes an oder from being able to grow. Expand your horizons.

u/anitxtina · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I'v used natural loofahs in the past and they are definitely great exfoliators. I've seen them pretty cheap at natural food stores and there's a 3pc set on Amazon (Add-On) for less than $8 here. :)

It's a tub, not a tube. I was trying to post a picture but my image search doesn't give me a link on my phone, so:

https://www.amazon.com/Lavilin-Underarm-Deodorant-Cream-12-5/dp/B0013OXEFU

It isn't nearly enough product to cause issues at airport security, and even if it was its closer to a solid than a liquid.
