so, its likely that you have the 5m-ge engine. quite solid.

as per the auto trans, it is unlikely that the fluid has ever been serviced.

get a pump and remove 2qt of ATF, then put in 2qt of new ATF.

you can use something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Bstean-Plastic-Steel-Syringe-Matching-Injection/dp/B01HFTYIMO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484535080&sr=8-1&keywords=reverse+brake+fluid+pump

it'll reverse/pull out via the dipstick tube. that way, you can accurate measure how much you remove.

do NOT drain the whole trans, then put in all new ATF - you do run the risk of blowing up the trans if it already not in the best shape. :(

when you are extracting fluid out, be attentive to the color of the fluid. use this photo as your guide:
http://transmissionrepairguy.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/transmission-fluid-color.jpg

if your fluid is in the 'dark/burnt' area, once per month, remove 1qt of ATF, then put in 1qt of ATF. this process will slowly cycle out the old and replace it with new, until it looks similar to new fluid. its the safest way to ensure a happy auto trans.

in total, the A43DE stores just shy of 7qt of fluid total, but the slow method i've described will take more than that in total.

as per general parts, Gates belts/hoses are top notch, EBC (red or yellow) brake are the minimum that i go with and rockauto.com has a ton of other small bits.

i use and resell amsoil - if you want my discount, just pm me and i'll assist.

Depending on where you're located and your accessibility to amazon.com, I buy unscented foaming soap and a tattoo spray bottle like this https://www.amazon.com/ACM-Economy-Bottle-Squeeze-Medical/dp/B00WTHLR2M/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1500688799&sr=8-5&keywords=squirt+bottle . Put foam on, rinse it with the squirt bottle, good to go. That's my LITHA when I'm away from running water (like when I go camping).

Edit to add: when camping, use bottled water. Camp/lake water is full of all sorts of gross stuff.

I love decanting liquid products into little spray/mist bottles. I feel like I waste less product on cotton and I'm not touching my face so that's always a win. I am pretty sure my face has cleared up at least in part because of this. I use a clean puff to apply thicker consistency lotions/serums. These bottles were really cheap from Amazon and they are glass. Bottles: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00V75EUWQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_21_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1481082683&sr=8-21&keywords=Vivaplex

Get a "Brew in a bag" bag, if you want to do BIAB. They're resilient and worth the extra money. You won't find them on Amazon.

If you want to start going to all grain you can buy a large Coleman / Igloo cooler (60 quart is what I use, can do up to 10 gallon batches). Ball valve and fittings, some pipe tape too. Don't forget a pulley to help get the bag out of the cooler!

You can get a flask, stir bar, and everything else you need to start making yeast starters.

Grab a large spoon and/or a flask wisk to help mashing.

Amazon also sells immersion chillers to help with the post boil. I bought mine for $50 and I think it's the 25' one. Works like a charm for 5 gallon batches.

Get a good pair of insulated gloves for your brew day!

Amazon also sells thermometers to help track mash temperatures. I have this one and this one. They're both great. An IR thermometer is great to have for yeast starters too...but definitely not needed. Would put that at the bottom of my purchase list.

Oh! A sterile siphon is also awesome. Bought that from Amazon too.

And so I don't keep rambling, Homebrewfinds as a good list of filler stuff from Amazon. Things like campden tablets, hop bags, pieces to make hop spiders....etc. http://www.homebrewfinds.com/homebrewing-related-amazon-fillers

u/gogosolar · 4 pointsr/fountainpens

You can also re-fill the cartridge from bottled ink for fountain pens
using a 'blunt syringe' or vape bottle

Using a Cartridge Converter or refilling the cartridge is much cheaper in the long run, but can be messier than using replacement cartridges, but cartridges can be more convenient for some people. Your choice or do both like I do - Cartridges for when I am traveling, bottled ink at home or when I want a wide range of colours.

u/Whydoyouhatefreedom · 3 pointsr/flyfishing

I went to a Vo-Ag high school where we had an entomology class for river and stream management (yes, we went on fishing field trips!!). We would go to the local tail waters with a net like this and would stick it in the water down stream of us and kick around the rocks and let everything flow in to the net. Then we would put the insects in vials like these, which allowed us to study them. You can even fill them with formaldehyde and bring them with you to make a permanent collection. If you used the links to buy those items you’ll save a ton of money that you can spend on tying materials etc. That’s just my 2 cents.

Edit to add: this net is more suitable

u/wonderful_wonton · 3 pointsr/AsianBeauty

No, I don't. My skin is not very sensitive at all and can even put it full strength on my face (in small spots). What I do is have a little vial of some essential oils that are mostly full strength and after I put on rosehip, squalane or other oil, I will put some on my hands, rub them together & pat/spread them on my face really thinly over the existing oil layer. I could do something more careful, like mix it in advance, but that would take more time & planning.

I have about 3 vials of essential oil blends that I'm using for for different skin care concerns right now:

  • for elasticity: coffee bean oil, ylang ylang, blackberry, and vanilla (to make it smell like a real perfume mix), and I have some dill seed oil coming
  • for skin firming & conditioning: lavender, frankincense, rose geranium + some citrus (grapefruit peel, bitter orange peel, bergamot, neroli, etc)
  • and now I have added one for blemishes: tea tree oil, rosemary, lavender, thyme, plus whatever other skin conditioning antiseptic EO I can find

I think you can always mix it in your hand, tho. Like put tea tree or whatever other oil in your hand and then add about 5-10x times as much carrier oil, like rosehip or squalane to it.

I make cosmetics like an Italian mother cooks, & don't really measure anything (except for bakuchiol oil blends because that can burn your face like 100% retinol). It's all based on doing what I need that day as quickly as possible.

These 1/4 ounce vials are really handy if you wanted to mix up some facial essential oils in advance. They're also great for havingn travel size serums & lotions on trips or in a gym kit

I do pretty much what this lady does, but I just apply the stuff topically. I buy dried licorice root from my local natural food store. Recipe: 1 cup water:4 heaping tablespoons of licorice root (which lasts me about 2 weeks). I steep the extract for 1-2 days and then filter it through a fine mesh strainer into a squeeze bottle I bought at a cooking supply store. My licorice extract lives in my fridge, next to my OST. :)

EDIT: My friend was asking the same thing, so I made an imgur album. And looking through it, I just realized I need to throw out my expired dashi! @.@

Sterile Siphon Starter.

It's stainless so it will never break. Super easy to clean. Even easier to use. I hooked up a co2 line on mine to lower the chance of oxygen pick up during transfer.

You can probably get everything needed from your local Homebrew shop.

I use a Santa Cruz shredder and store it in these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007DQGKC6/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

There are plastic ones too, (doob tubes) but I prefer the glass.

Just pour the shredded into tube and pour into hopper. I shake the tube before opening it to loosen the pour.

This search should have a lot of good material. I like shaker bottles so I haven't been following pitcher recommendations too closely but I got curious and looked through. This one seems to be considered a direct upgrade over the included pitcher.

u/d_phase · 2 pointsr/AskElectronics

First of all, what type of flux is in the pen?

If the flux is rosin flux, then yes, you should use rosin core solder. If the flux is no-clean, then you should use no-clean solder. You don't HAVE to do this, but generally rosin flux is better than no-clean, and if you are using the two together you are pretty much losing the no-clean ability of the no-clean, so why not just use rosin?

I would highly recommend buying a bottle of this:

125 mL MG Chemicals 835 Rosin Flux

And getting an applicator such as this:

needle tip flux applicator

You can find those applicators all over the place. You could also use refillable brushes or pens if you prefer. (I really like these small needle tip applicators, quite precise)

The flux will last you quite a long time, so it's a good investment. Next I would recommend getting some good quality solder from a known brand. I like to use MG Chemicals because it is easily available where I am. I buy RA or RMA (Rosin Activated or Rosin Mildly Activated) 60/40 or 63/37 solder. Note that it has a slightly higher flux percentage, 2.2% which I recommend as well (more flux is almost always better).

The RA solder combined with the RA flux works like a charm. It makes soldering (and de-soldering) so easy you will always want to use flux, seriously. The only complication is that you may want to clean your boards afterwards, if you want them to last a really long time. IPA or some flux cleaner works well.

I forgot to mention solder thickness. Generally the thicker the solder the less likely you will need extra flux. I find with 0.032" solder with moderate sized pads (5+ mms?) extra flux is good. With smaller pads you probably won't need extra flux. With bigger solder you probably won't need extra flux. That's why it's good to just have the flux in case you find your solder just doesn't cut it.

I prefer amber boston round glass bottles with polycone caps. The darkened glass blocks light (and pretty much all UV) and polycone caps provide an airtight seal sufficient for lab use. Amazon Link

u/mousec7 · 2 pointsr/TrueBlood

Doing some sort of shot into these might be appropriate. They're cheap enough and a bit of gold paint from craft store might be enough to glam it up.

u/AziMeeshka · 2 pointsr/electronic_cigarette

I actually just found these bottles on Amazon. There is actually a ton of stuff like this on Amazon and since I already have Prime it's free 2 day shipping. I think I'm gonna order a carrying case I found on there too.

Non-true!

Here. - It's Corning too! ^ _ ^

Now, the trick is to get people interested and riled up for more advanced lab glassware, like a distillation apparatus. Then the vendors can sell more of them for cheaper!

The bigger the market, the less fear there is in people buying this stuff. Then, science wins! We really don't need any more of those 'officials' thinking this sort of equipment is only used for making 'drugs.'

EDIT: I feel half dumb. You linked to Corning glass on Amazon through your blog. FYI, your links on the Imgur page (the "Viewed Here/Purchased Here") are not actual links. However, your blog's links are fine.

Thats nothing.
You can fix that easily.

Get one of these needle applicator bottles

Get some Titebond 2 or Titebond 3, and thin it out with 5%-10% water. Mix it in like a paper cup with a popcicle stick or something before you put it in the applicator bottle.

With the applicator bottle squeeze as much as you can deep into the crack. You may want to use a pin or something to try and poke as much down into the crack as you can.

Doesn't look like there's exactly a good way to clamp this particular crack, so I wouldn't worry about it unless you think you have an idea how to do it.

Clean up excess with a damp paper towel, and let dry 24 hours.

I've got 14 different strains right now by my last count. Just stepped up a frozen Imperial Juice last night and I'm stepping back up a frozen Bell's House yeast as I type this.

I use these but it doesn't seem they're for sale anymore. In any case, any 50ml vial will probably work.

My normal routine is to make a 1.5L starter in a 2L flask and decant off most of the supernatant after the fermentation is complete. I try to swirl in a little just to make sure that the yeast isn't too thick and can actually pour. A semi-thick starter like this, for me, will usually fill 6-8 50ml flasks up to the 25ml mark.

Starter calculators are a wild guess at best in terms of actual cell counts, but if I can suppose that I have close to 30-40b cells per vial I'm usually okay with that amount.

For glycerin, I use a 10% mix total (20% mix into the vial). Usually 1 cup of distilled water and 1/4 cup of glycerin will be plenty for my fills. I'll take this mix and stir it together in my instant pot. I cook the mix for like 3 minutes on high pressure and then release it. I'll take the pot out of the instant pot and let it cool with the lid on.

Once my glycerin is cool and my yeast is decanted I'll fill as many 50ml vials as I an with a 50/50 mix of each slurry and glycerin. I'll label them with what the yeast is, date it, and add what generation it is. I haven't gone beyond 3rd generation, I figure if I can get something like 15-20 pitches out of a pack of yeast I can leave it at that. I'll also label the cap of the vial too so I can identify them easily when looking at them from above.

Once they're all full I stick them in the fridge for 24 hours to cool. After that I'll take them down to my freezer and shake them all up again before sticking them into a styrofoam container that I keep in my chest freezer. The styrofoam helps protect the yeast from freeze / thaw cycles.

When I want to make a starter I try to plan it a few days in advance. I prefer to thaw the yeast vials in the fridge for a day, but soaking them in a bowl of water for an hour has seemed to work just fine as well. I make a mix of .1g per ml starter wort depending on my needs (usually back up to 140g in 1400ml or so) and pitch the thawed yeast. It's usually about done in 18-24 hours! That gives me enough time to cold crash it a bit so I can pour of the supernantant for my actual pitch into my wort.

u/zerotoleranceftw · 2 pointsr/DIY_eJuice

So you want the proper weight for pg/vg/nicotine, other than that you can use 1g/ml for ANY flavoring. It won't be 100% correct, but if you are making your recipes and everything uses 1g/ml it won't matter that it's not perfectly accurate since your recipe's will all be based on this slight inaccuracy. The important thing is nic/pg/vg

I personally use squeeze bottles I got off amazon.

Then for flavorings you can use them how they come. If they come in little glass bottles with no dropper top I would grab the 1000 disposable pipettes on amazon for like $10 and you'll be set.

You can get smaller bottles based on how much volume you're mixing. But its much easier than drawing a syringe, VG can be a pain to draw. With squeeze bottles its soo much easier/faster/higher accuracy

I would check out this guide from a fellow DIYer (Botboy)

I ordered 100mg PG Nicotine from Wizardlabs, opened it a week ago, realized the container it comes in isnt very well sealed even though its amber, is the air gonna make it go bad(I only popped a small hole in the white seal to fit in a dropper, just put some tissue and tap over it and sealed it up)? If so how fast(Like would another week in it effect it? I am gonna order these)

Would this be fine? Thanks!

You're welcome -- glad I could help!

If you decide to go with large tubes, these are similar to the tubes I use, but there are cheaper options: 1, 2, 3, etc. It's important to look for tubes that are listed as either "sterile" or "autoclavable." I like the pre-sterilized packs because that's less work for me.

There are a lot of techniques out there, so sometimes it helps to list them out into categories with a few details underneath each. With a list like that, you can go through it all at a glance and decide what aligns with your budget, material availability, and level of effort/interest.

Let us know what you end up deciding to do and how it works out for you. I'm sure a lot of folks around here would like to see it!

I'm from Nova Scotia, Canada and I find that we use vinegar as a "seasoning" / finisher much more often then other places I've been.

A few people below have already listed a trick we use; a small spritz bottle of vinegar instead of drizzling it, as a mist is a lot less intense then a small stream.

Here is the spritz bottle set I have for my vinegars:

https://www.amazon.com/Vivaplex-Amber-Glass-Bottles-Sprayers/dp/B00V75EUWQ

As someone also already mentioned, the classic combo I use ALL the time is malt vinegar over anything starchy, fried or white fishes. I spritz higher end malt over french fries, home fries, battered fish, sword fish steaks, haddock sticks -- lots of things.

I have an apple cider vinegar I love to spritz over winter soups and stews. The one I have is a mild vinegar, so it's less intense but it brings a beautiful lift to normally heavy things like beef stew.

Balsamic vinegar I spritz over: salads, greek food, pasta, strawberries, salmon and sometimes even lightly over orange slices.

White wine vinegar I'll also use for salmon, and I also have a second bottle of white wine vinegar mixed with lemon rind for this.

Rice vinegar goes on my sushi, a little bit on a bahn mi sandwich, a little over some fried rice. Basically my asian foods. I also have a rice vinegar mixed with orange and lime rind for a more citrus floral taste.

Sherry vinegar I spritz over roasts, pork chops, steaks. Basically any deep meat. Also not bad on a burger with carmelized onions.

Basically, it's about moderation and about distribution. By spritzing instead of drizzling or adding directly into food you can use vinegar just like you would use any other seasoning, such as the variations of salt

Glass carboys are okay but I prefer plastic. You don't need to secondary so that's cool you'd have two fermenting vessels.

Auto-siphons work but I think the Sterile Siphon is a lot better/easier/more sanitary/etc.

Carboy brush is good. I've never used a beer bottle brush but I guess they're handy? Capper + caps are good. The instructional DVD might be useful if you're into watching instructional DVDs.

I'm interested in the sanitizer. I see they have 1-Step in the picture but that's for cleaning. Star San is the best sanitizer in my opinion because it's no rinse and super effective when mixed properly.

This kit doesn't seem to include a hydrometer? You'll definitely want one of those to check your starting and final gravities. Refractometers cost more but are easier because they only require a drop of wort.

The extract kits are pretty generic. I'd probably choose the Caribou Slobber because every time I've brewed extract and seen other people brew extract, the wort comes out darker than expected.

Personally I don't like those kits. If I were starting all over again and wanted to do 5G batches, I'd get at least an 8 gallon pot, a fine mesh bag, a 6.5G Better Bottle, and the other accessories (hydometer/StarSan + spray bottle/bung/airlock/sterile siphon/etc) and just do all-grain brew in a bag (BIAB). For more on that, check out this post.

I'm a sucker for sampler packs, I'll order anything if it's available as a sample. Maybe you could offer samples in little plastic bottles?

Also if you started off looking for a substitute to Alts-Innsbruck and you feel you made one that's even better than the original then don't you offer it on your Etsy store? I have the A-I pre/post shave oil emulsion and love to use it especially if I've had a rough shave. I like the smell and would definitely try an after-shave splash version.

u/designtofly · 1 pointr/Wet_Shavers

I use small glass bottles with a pump sprayer like these. They aren't as pretty as the big aftershave bottles, but I find these a lot more practical and less wasteful. 5-6 sprays into your cupped hand is all you need. Makes it a lot easier to always dispense the same amount of aftershave.

I make a starter for every yeast that I buy and then save a little bit in 50ml vials. If I ever want to use a yeast that I have I just create a starter 3 days ahead of brew time. I used to use mason jars, the 1/4 pint ones (4oz I think) but found out that these take up way less space.

Just an eye dropper bottle. I bought this box on amazon, I think the amber bottles might be a little cheaper.

I use a shitload of acetone around the shop.

Get it at homeless despot by the gallon can, and buy some of those clear acetone/alchohol bottles on amazon - I bought a 3 pack, one for acetone, one for isoproponol, and one for tap-magic.

Cool, glad I could help. They also sell these sterile empty 5 and 10 ml multi use vials that you can transfer your 1ml vials into to make things a little easier. https://www.amazon.com/pack-Sterile-Empty-Vials-Hospira/dp/B006TNFSX6/ref=pd_ybh_a_90?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=55VR2GJZ8GQK8BAZDPVV

Here is a youtube video showing how transfer from ampul to vial, its not the one I was looking for. The one I was looking for was a professionally done training video for lab employees but I couldn't find it so take every thing this guy says with a grain of salt and double check it but his process looks mostly correct.

VKtech also sels 5ml bottles on Amazon that are great for samplers. Here is the link.

Or you can buy some test tubes from amazon pretty cheap and use that since it has an air tight cap.

They're plastic so its better than having glass

I use these small glass vials, though I'm not sure if they are the 1 or 2 dram, I think 2. They're perfect for storage and carrying and the mouth is almost exactly the size of the trench. Not 100% airtight, but better than baggies or medicine bottles for sure.

Something like 4-5 5ml bottles for the same cost as a 20ml bottle. I don't know how much it would cost to get the small bottles, but I have seen a crap load of them lately.

Something like these....http://www.amazon.com/Vktech-Plastic-Dropping-Bottles-Pack/dp/B00D2MH66Y

Cocktail Kingdom is good but the quality for many pieces seems to have dropped off (e.g. broken jigger, Koriko tins and mixing glasses) That being said almost everything I use everyday is from them.

Uber has some quality products and also offers sets. Reviews say that the quality varies in the sets, but the spoon and muddler I use work well. I believe they are based in Austria as well!

I have just discovered a new website called Parched Penguin. I have not bought anything yet but am interested in their mixing glasses and many decorative pieces for special occasions.

If you are just getting started I would buy:
-Hawthorne
-Jigger
-Hand Juicer
-Small Tin
-Large Tin

Once you enjoy it and have mastered all of your favorite shaken drinks:
-Mixing Glass. We use these at my bar because they are cheap and can go through the dishwasher.
-Muddler. Once again dishwasher friendly and industructible.
-Bar Spoon. A cheap and effective spoon, easy to learn a proper Japanese stir.

Then comes the books...

You can mitigate a lot of problems with a drop liquid flux from a needle tip bottle. A better iron will help too.

u/ThunderNecklace · 1 pointr/soylent

At first I really liked the standard pitcher, but I have come to greatly dislike it. Too many parts, too many little hard-to-reach surfaces that are impossible to clean 100%, too many leaks/spills from residue in the untwist/twist process.

A few months ago I needed to take my Soylent in to work, and I wasn't going to use the pitcher. I searched around a bit and purchased a tall 1.4L nalgene bottle off Amazon. I borrowed my roommates little wire ball (from his shaker bottle) and pushed it in.

All-in-all, it works quite well. Having a tool better than the original pitcher is far more convenient than I was expecting. However the 1.4L concentrates the Soylent a bit too much. I've gotten used to it because I'm lazy but honestly I would prefer a better solution.

I'm switching my diet soon, so I will need my nalgene for water, and I think I will buy the 2L nalgene solid white container the other guy posted:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003OBYW5G

2 pieces total, the nalgene lid tightness on my 1.4L bottle is REALLY good (it's a pain sometimes lol), easy to clean, and not concentrating the solution would be much better.

And having a little shaker object in the container to break up the powder is excellent. I strongly recommend one.

They came with some bottles I ordered on Amazon. VEEAPE 12pcs 15ml Steel Needle Soft PET Plastic Dropper Bottle Tip Glue Bottle with 6 Funnels, for E-liquids and Vape DIY https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H5HNPRC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_eK5YCb11FD8DF

Don’t use the bottles anymore. These ones are a real pain in the ass to squeeze, at least for me. But then I have arthritis in my hands. The bottle shown in the pic is far easier to use.

Those of you with a sterile siphon or similar set up: how do you handle sanitation?

With the auto-siphon I would just fill a jug with sanitizer and pump it through the rig for a minute or two. Do you fill up a carboy with sanitizer and drain it through the rig?

A small, plastic vial like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Glass-Vials-Dram-Pack-12/dp/B008IRT7SI/ref=mp_s_a_1_17?keywords=vial&qid=1556063835&s=gateway&sr=8-17

Also, your friend probably used the pen to catch the smoke coming off of a heated tin foil bowl (not connected like a pipe, you put the pen in your mouth and aim the other side over the meth/other drugs).

u/ChibiOne · 1 pointr/TransDIY

You can pull the medicine into a syringe and replace the cap on the syringe and keep it to inject at a later time. Alternatively, you can order these

https://smile.amazon.com/pack-Sterile-Empty-Vials-Hospira/dp/B006TNFSX6

and open all of your ampoules and use a syringe to move the estradiol into one of the empty vials, that way you can fine-tune your dosage without wasting estradiol.

You certainly can, but it's not necessary. You may discover an interesting flavor combination in the transition. :)

(Avoid transitioning from cookie dough to guava. Hard lesson learned.)

If you do clean your tank, plain water (or distilled if your water is particularly hard) works fine. I like to use a needle-tip bottle to pressure wash my tank.

u/4quartets · 1 pointr/soylent

I switched to Nalgene. No gaskets. Only two parts to clean, and they clean easily.

u/scientist_tz · 1 pointr/Warhammer

After every use I strip the airbrush down completely. I use a bottle like this:

https://www.amazon.com/ACM-Economy-Bottle-Squeeze-Medical/dp/B00WTHLR2M/

to blast water through the nozzle and to clean the excess paint out of the pot. I use a soft cloth to clean the needle. Once a month I soak the pot in simple green to clean out excess paint.

That's all I do and I've never had a clogged airbrush. The aircap I'm currently using is about a year old and the needle is over a year old.

Any cleaning procedure that leaves liquid in the aircap/nozzle will corrode the nozzle and shorten its life.

I have been there. Since it's been 2.5 weeks, I'd say you're clear for any socket issues. I actually went out to Walmart and bought a DenTek tooth scraping kit... it was $5-7 at the time but it had some plastic scraping tools and gum stimulators inside. The rubber/plastic tips are spiky and perfect for gently poking things out of the holes. Then, flush. Also, a wash bottle is great, too but be careful with how much pressure you can stand. They just flush away :D

Here's some links to what these products look like. Should be able to find similar in a local big box retailer. Also, be very careful if you get the Dentek Kit. Home cleaning is great, but scraping can be damaging to your enamel & gums if you aren't sure what you're doing or how often to do it.
