I'll try to keep tabs on everything but let me know if there are any errors or price updates. And as a side note, I'm actually getting downvotes for this? I can't see how there could possibly be a sane explanation for that.

EDIT: Updated 7:00pm EST!! Let me know if there's anything you see and I'll put it in here!

EDIT: I've put everything new as of Jan 11, 4:00pm in bold. Also, check this post on RedFlagDeals for a great big list of deal

$220 not to bad!
I really like my Anker speaker and it has never gone to sleep on its own and stays on when charging. $60
My friend got it from Amazon for $219 + $25 discount coupon. The speaker+table is aesthetically pleasing but it is below average functionality wise. The sound is sub par with little or no bass at all compared to other $200 price range speakers.

Apologies to the OP for those of us who can't be civil.
OP, you don't need surround sound in the way we talk about it here (5.1, 7.1, 5.1.2 or whatever). Also, doing it for 150quid will probably be tricky (I am not from the UK) A few options:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/JBL-Bluetooth-Portable-Stereo-Speaker/dp/B01MSYQWNY
You can send audio via bluetooth. You'll need to plug these speakers into the wall. They're really meant to be portable battery-powered speakers to be used on-the-go rather than permanent indoor installation, but they come close to your budget.
I have heard nothing but good things about Sonos systems but that's probably beyond budget.
Good luck.

I have this and the current model is $40. Honestly you canโt beat it. Waterproof, good range, size and shape.
OontZ Angle 3 Ultra : Portable Bluetooth Speaker 14-Watts Deliver Bigger Bass and Hi-Quality Sound, 100ft Wireless Range, Play Two Together for Music in Dual Stereo, IPX-6 Splashproof Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073BVWRSP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Ze.wDbPTPV0BD
I have an older model and itโs only gotten better.
It looks like a strap to hold a portable bluetooth speaker, or similar device, to a bike handle bar. Example
Have had the UE Mobile Boombox for about 5 years and it still puts out great quality sound despite lots of physical abuse.
If you want cheap with "bass" I'd say one of these 2....
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Bluetooth-Subwoofers-Portable-Wireless/dp/B0107WH8Q4/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1494283455&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=anker+bluetooth+speaker&psc=1
same thing, different brand and slightly different sound. A lot cheaper though.
https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-TaoTronics-Subwoofers-Aluminum-Alloy-Microphone/dp/B013WPIGUA/ref=sr_1_121?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1494283709&sr=1-121&keywords=bluetooth+speaker
Logitech UE Mini Boom is on sale now on Amazon. According the The Wirecutters, it's the best portable bluetooth speaker available.
Cheers!
As others have mentioned, first get another battery or two.
Second, if you still want to charge on the go, you'll probably want a portable AC power bank. I don't know about the Mavic in particular, but the Spark has an AC charging dock, and I was researching the same thing for similar reasons.
They run anywhere from about 20,000Mah to about 55,000Mah, and the prices are generally ~$150-$250, depending on the capacity, size (some are quite large, some are about the size of two large phone power banks), and the brand and design.
This one is one of the most portable and is recommended by WireCutter, but it costs a premium for that design.
This one loses 7,000Mah but it also loses $110 in price for that difference. It is a vertical, narrow design, sort of like the Mavic when folded for storage.
This one is very similar to the first one, at around the price of the second one, making it one of the better deals.
This one packs a massive 42,000Mah of power. This should be able to recharge several Mavic batteries several times over, plus a few other things.
Need some tips on purchasing some powered speakers and a preamp.
These are the two speakers I'm looking at:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GP56OYA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_BLhPzb88KAQFE
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HG16XFM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_MNhPzbZBEEGA6
Also would love any other suggestions besides these two that are at or below the price point.
Below are the two preamps I'm also looking at:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007DB5I60/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_DOhPzbKPT5V8V
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018WK56JE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_7OhPzbPFNQERD
Same as the speakers willing to take suggestions for a possibly better preamp at or around the same price point.
I have this one, it was on sale when the gift was bought, I like it a great deal, but I also know someone with the oontz who loves it so its probably the better deal atm
I just found this with a quick search. Seems interesting...
You want a Monster Rockin' Roller 3. Got one for my mom for these specific purposes and it works great. The sound is amazing.
Is something like this okay gents?
OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA: $40 and sounds amazing for its size: https://www.amazon.com/OontZ-Angle-ULTRA-Exceptional-Splashproof/dp/B073BVWRSP/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1517844324&sr=1-3&keywords=oontz+angle+3+portable+bluetooth+speaker
I got it and the echo for Christmas but it was an unintentional matchup. I hooked it up via bluetooth from across the room. The person who gave it to me was surprised on Christmas when I got it playing and it turned out to sound better than their $100 bose soundlink
Looks like a buckshot speaker.
https://www.amazon.com/Outdoor-Tech-OT1301-Buckshot-Water-Resistant/dp/B00EPWZXLA
I donโt know about best but I bought this one and love it.
JBL Boombox Portable Bluetooth Waterproof Speaker (Black)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0759GC766/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_VKbSBb62Q2B9K
If you ever get the chance to look through his bag, look for the oldest most beat up looking disc he's got, and buy him a new one. Google the make and model and if it's a putter get him two or three.
NOTE: Don't replace the disc, leave it in his bag. The reason it's the oldest and most beat up is because he loves it and probably would appreciate having another disc in that type to break in.
Option 2: Get him a small bluetooth speaker รก la Mini Jambox or the Logitech UE Boom. These are pricey options, but they're at the front of the pack for sound quality. If you think he couldn't care less about that and just wants some outdoor tunes there are plenty of other options. I personally love having music out on the course (politely of course) and can't throw right (or stay aware of other golfers) with headphones in.
Good Luck!
This + this
Check out the Anker 3143. A LOT cheaper than the Bose, and pretty close in sound quality:
Speaker in Black
Speaker in White
Here's a review of the speaker:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vezRUV3pHx8
Just get this and use your normal power adapter to stay secure \o/
EDIT: Yes I have it, and I'm taking it to every festival I go currently. It's amazing
How cheap? What do you want to use it for? Is sound important?
I'd consider the Harmon Kardon Onyx Studio if budget allows. It sounds absolutely phenomenal for its size and isn't that expensive, especially for the quality. Bass is great and when on mains power gets very loud. Has a battery in case you want to take it round the house but doesn't last that long and doesn't get as loud on battery.
A bit cheaper, you could get an Anker Premium and just leave it plugged in. Many people say its extremely similar to the Bose Soundlink Mini so it should be good. Anker have great support and their products are usually good.
If dont want to spend that much, check out the larger JBL which has 16 watts of power vs the 10 in the oontz,, best of luck!

I bought one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/WITTI-BEDDI-Smart-Speaker-Integration/dp/B01GUYZ126
Works fairly well, although any music playing is piped through the phone via Bluetooth into the alarm clock itself. It doesn't directly get on WiFi. I believe the alarm will still go off in Beep mode if your phone isn't paired, so it does have a fallback.
Also has 3x smart buttons that can hit IFTTT, Hue, or trigger the internal light. It's kinda slick, although a little spendy.
Highly recommend the g boom. Not a well known brand but they make great gear. here
Bought this one on Amazon and I'm really impressed with it - we use it all the time for music plus we stream music and tv from our apple TV to it: https://www.amazon.ca/Anker-Bluetooth-Subwoofers-Portable-Wireless/dp/B0107WH8Q4/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1520696586&sr=8-5&keywords=anker+bluetooth+speaker
Try Amazon basic speakers or Anker ones. Definitely not bifl, but are of decent quality compared to cheap Chinese ones.

I've had these Anker speakers from Amazon for some time. They're half the price of the small Bose speakers and every bit as good. https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Bluetooth-Subwoofers-Portable-Wireless/dp/B0107WH8Q4/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1482940663&sr=1-2&keywords=anker+bluetooth+speakers
Listen to podcasts using this cheap but powerful external speaker. IMHO, external speakers are better than using one earbud, in terms of letting you be more aware of surrounding traffic.
I commute on commercial roads where there are no other pedestrians/bikers, so there's nobody to annoy with noise. I listen to national and local news, and then storytelling and nerdy/science podcasts (Snap Judgment, This American Life, Hidden Brain, Song Exploder, The Allusionist, The Moth, and Pop Culture Happy Hour are my current faves), and arrive at work feeling entertained, better informed, and happily sweaty.
Ankers BT speakers are decent for that price. I bought my parents this one for their winter cottage and they love it:

Big Turtle Shell.
Just got this in off a Kickstarter project and it's AWESOME. They just became available to the public this month.
Louder than my Sony BTX-500, has a ton more play time (16 hours), has a charging port that works even when the unit is off, BT 4.0 and NFC, and it mil-spec ruggedized AND splash proof. I literally just throw this thing around. I love it.

I have the Ultimate Ears Bluetooth speaker and absolutely love it, my mom and friends have the Bose sound link and although it is a little bit smaller I prefer the sound from my speaker. Loud enough to have small party with it and the battery is great.

Dumb. Does three things poorly. Even mid price blenders can't make a decent crushed ice cocktail. I guarantee this thing is a complete fail. for $160 you can get a f'n fantastic cooler and the awesomest battery powered Bluetooth boombox out there.
Bike speakers - This is the bike speaker I have. It doesn't necessarily fits the ideal specs that you wanted, but I think that they are incredibly cost effective and produce a real a decent sound. You load up a USB key that has mp3 files that you want to play; you can then use the interface to turn up or lower the volume and switch tracks. You can also plug in your phone via auxiliary cable and have it sit inside the pouch - it can play whatever you want to steam like Pandora or Spotify (but you can't use the interface to skip tracks, etc. It's just be streaming).
These things are the jam! I bought two for friends and they absolutely love it.
Can't go wrong with one of these, one of my proudest purchases ever. HIGHLY recommend it.
Sounds like you're looking for something like this.
I'm in need of some new Active speakers, currently running Creative T20 (pc speakers) been eyeing the Thonet & Vander Hoch (available here in Sweden for about $200)
Are there any other speakers out there you think I should consider over these?
Edit: My TT is a Argon TT-2 (Rega clone I think?) and im using the TCC TC-750 Preamp
A quality portable speaker such as the MINI JAMBOX or the Ultimate Ears MINI BOOM. I'm not saying I want those specifically (but if they're good, I'd like to know). I just want to know what are good portable speakers that are small and reasonably priced like those two models. I would prefer to spend around $100, but I'm willing to go up to $150 if there is a product that really shines in your opinion. All advice is appreciated. Thank you.
Ivation Bicycle Speaker: https://www.amazon.com/Ivation-Multi-Function-Bicycle-External-Controls/dp/B009PAEE58
Provides an easily detached bag which I can grab and go, and decent sound-quality and a mid-range volume, mostly hear able in busy traffic, but never so loud I feel unaware of whatโs going on. Debating on getting the control cable โ probably will since using a thumb drive seems to interfere w/ the bike computer (Cateye Strada Wireless) displaying speed.
I have the older generation of the small jambox. I've had it for a few years and it's still working great - they're durable and I turn it upright to fit in the cupholder of the golf cart.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009PAEE58/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_-T1HxbWA6VGT6 it's this. It's actually not bluetooth, but I use a little bluetooth reciever.
Edit: I also found this one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B012SA051I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_HV1HxbSQF9R28
Bluetooth, 4 times the battery, can charge your device, and more color options for a little over twice the price. Might have to upgrade myself.
I ride with this I gotta have some music, but I also want to hear what's going on around me.
Yeah, probably your best bet if you were going to buy instead of diy would be:
Anker 20W Premium Stereo Portable Bluetooth Speaker with Dual 10W Drivers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0107WH8Q4/
Doesnโt come with a corgi or cool carrying strap though....
I mean It is at least 2/3x louder than my Nexus 6P phone, and works very well for where I use it. I find it pretty loud. If you want louder it seems like they've released a newer model that is 14w
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073BVWRSP/ref=psdc_7073956011_t2_B01LZV6TYQ
This work?
Don't have them, but UE has a very good reputation about good sound quality.
Edit: If you can go up to $150 consider these
So I just bought this(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0107WH8Q4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1) BT speaker from Anker for $60(arriving tomorrow)
and now I've found this(https://www.amazon.com/Anker-SoundCore-Subwoofers-Waterproof-Shockproof/dp/B01DZ56MX0/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=sl1&tag=dt-incontent-btn-20&linkId=4bf73bd2e354c6402eb65fa94c0dedb9) very similar but newer, waterproof speaker from Anker for $60.
Should I keep the one I bought or return it for the newer one?

Oontz will do what you're looking for.
I've only heard a single, smaller model... but I was pretty impressed with the sound.
What I've read and heard is that they are taking away block roller speakers (the ones that have wheels, shaped like a block, or just large in general). The rules do not state clearly what size is a no go so here are some examples of stuff that has been cleared and stuff that got taken.
CLEARED
HK Onyx
Bose Soundlink
Anker Bluetooth Speaker
TAKEN AWAY
LG FH2
*Soundboks 2
A lot of bang for the buck: Anker A3143
This thing is actually quite good for the money and to my taste loud.
In case you want something stationary and extremely expensive (and loud): Devialet Phantom Gold

One of these is all he needs
Thanks! It looks like they make one that's the same size but a bit pricier.
Just picked up this guy for $55! I have really enjoyed it. Great sound quality and great battery life as well.

oof sorry for the link meltdown
This might be more in your range. I caught it for $180 on sale. Normal price is ~$220. It can run my laptop for a total of 20-25 hours. Granted, my laptop draws 9W from its internal battery under max load. I purchased it specifically for its low power consumption. If your laptop is running anything serious, you'd be looking at quite a bit less on-time.
When I first got it, I used it Saturday through Wednesday after work as my laptop's only power source until it died, running off my laptop's AC adapter. I'd probably get more out of it with a DC-DC car charger instead.
There's also this guy for $170, but it's half the capacity of the Suaoki.
You might also want to consider other things, like portable phone power banks. Ravpower's 34WH banks are $15 on sale and $20 full price. If you picked up 2-3 of those, a cheap usb powered tablet, and some usb string lights, you'd still come out under $150 if you picked up the tablet used from eBay.
And for $500, there's also the 400WH Anker PowerHouse.

I am looking to get a bluetooth speaker that would be used outdoors for BBQing, camping, and going to the beach. My budget is around $150, but I can be flexible if it's worth it. It doesn't have to be waerproof, but resistant would be nice. Thanks I just saw this on amazon and thought it was nice. Thoughts?
I have this one but it's a bit above your budget so check this one out, also made by anker
There's always something on Amazon that slightly reminds of the PS gamepad layout. Too bad those are always coming from unknown brands I've honestly never heard of.
A couple of examples from a quick search:
http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Bluetooth-Gaming-Controller-Smartphone/dp/B017TT4BRC
http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Bluetooth-Controller-Smartphone-Platform/dp/B00WSVDPU6
UE Mini boom is $45 dollars right now if there's any left. JBL charge 2 is $80. check slickdeals.
TBH this is probably a better value.
This. I think it's also important to consider the Power Bank and unofficial chargers, out of curiosity though, how is this charger?

As far as power banks go, I might just go for this one since I can also use it with my mobile computer, but it's expensive.

I wonder if Newegg has anything better.
Oooo that's a Bose system I haven't seen before. I've loved my Bose Wave Radios for decades, but I've never thought about looking for a Bose option for my outdoor audio. I've used these excellent and very economical Oontz Angle 3 speakers in the past. I may have to try those Bose speakers in my garage workshop.
Small with about the best sound quality ive heard in that size. Great bargain IMO.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZV6TYQ
This is a larger speaker, that while not that visually appealing sounds outstanding.
https://www.amazon.com/G-Project-Wireless-Bluetooth-Portable-Rechargeable/dp/B00CKYVYI6
I wouldnt buy a bluetooth speaker over $100 in general. Its diminishing returns. But id rather buy a shelf unit that has bluetooth if you dont need portability. A decent shelf unit will beat any bluetooth speaker there is.
www.amazon.com/Portable-RAVPower-27000mAh-Universal-Smartphone/dp/B01LCFS9S6 this one actually has a Built in 110V AC power Outlet
Not OP but I just got this bag off amazon. It fits my longer S8 and my bluetooth speaker perfectly. I'm very please with the purchase. It does have hole for headphones too.
I've had this for about two years.
Battery lasts at least 6 hours playing nonstop, rechargeable with a micro usb cable, and two people can connect through Bluetooth at the same time and all you have to do is pause one phone and press play on the other to hear their music. I can set it down in a spot and hear it clearly until about 40' away. Bluetooth range is more like 20' but it always stays next to my phone anyways. Obviously no deep bass because of its size but otherwise great sound.
This thing is small but it certainly packs a punch. Was pleasantly surprised by the bass. Highly recommend. https://www.amazon.com/Jawbone-Wireless-Bluetooth-Speaker-Graphite/dp/B00DVKORXC/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1485918170&sr=1-1&keywords=jambox%20jawbone
Outdoor Tech Big Turtle.
Similar to a pill,
Sony XB20 Portable Wireless Speaker with Bluetooth, Blue $39, originally $99. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MUG5WIN/

Bam.
I'm looking for a bluetooth speaker for around $150 that is loud enough to fill a big room for a martial arts class. I don't need it to be overpowering and have no idea what to look for.
I was looking at this one
http://www.amazon.ca/Anker-Bluetooth-Subwoofers-Portable-Wireless/dp/B0107WH8Q4/ref=sr_1_11?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1452804779&sr=1-11&keywords=bluetooth+speakers
I also am slightly interested in this

I'm just not sure which one is best for what I need it for. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I think you should buy another bluetooth game controller. You can find them on amazon, gearbest, ebay or aliexpress. For example http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WSVDPU6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=141HX73NXI015&coliid=I3LHNWR39OX6X1
This may not be the sort of speaker you're looking for, but it has served me well. Very loud, good bass. Multiple friends of mine have been impressed enough with it that they bought one for themselves.

There are a ton of great sounding and affordable portable battery-powered bluetooth speakers out there. Get a bluetooth audio transmitter and plug it into your Circuit.

JBL Boombox Portable Bluetooth Waterproof Speaker (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0759GC766/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_rL6XCb4CSSERZ
Love jbl products. Had the small version of this and itโs loud AF. I am hopefully upgrading to this beast later this year.
Not too long ago I was looking for the exact same thing. I went to best buy and listened to the tdk2, jawbones and the Logitech UE boombox. The best sound came through on the logitech.
Best buy had it on sale for 169, right now amazon has it for 179:
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-984-000304-Boombox-Wireless-Bluetooth/dp/B0094S35QU
It has awesome sound, connects either via audio cable or bluetooth, and has a rechargeable batter that lasts 6 hours or so.
IMO it has better sound and I like the rechargeable battery but I can see if someone wants to use actual batteries
I recommend going somewhere and listening to them first. What sounds better to me may not sound better to you.
I use this portable speaker every ride
the battery life is legit. I can commute for a week without charging it, or do a 150+ mile weekend on a single charge.
This is the one that was ordered - WITTI BEDDI Smart Radio Alarm Clock Speaker with Smart Home Integration, White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GUYZ126/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Vqq.AbHEA69G2
I thought so too, but recently they made it possible for some products to be able to ship internationally!
https://www.amazon.com/OontZ-Angle-ULTRA-Hi-Quality-Splashproof/dp/B073BVWRSP#
This Monster Rockin' Roller 3 has a kick ass battery life (100 Hours), and you can charge phones and such off of it. Very nice for the campsite!
Are you looking for a pair? Bluetooth? Portable?
If you're looking for a simple, standalone bluetooth, I highly recommend this one, I've been very happy with it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0107WH8Q4/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Or don't mount speakers and just do something like these
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0094S354W?
I tried a lot of these. The only ones that worked were
Anything else and the charge light wouldn't come on.
Note that all the battery power banks can charge the X1C 5gen... if the laptop is off. But once you turn it on, it seems all that will make it happy is USB 3.1 PD with sufficient wattage.
So, yeah, right now I definitely recommend the Razer Power Bank for X1C 5gen users.

I think riding with headphones is incredibly dangerous. I got myself a speaker recently off of amazon which I would recommend though
I have tried a few speakers and this one is by far the best for shower usage:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073BVWRSP/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The cheaper ones are too cheap.
I can't recommend this more. I'm always promoting it.
I use a handlebar speaker bag and listen to a Jack Johnson station on Pandora when I am just pedaling around town. http://www.amazon.com/Ivation-Multi-Function-Bicycle-External-Controls/dp/B009PAEE58/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1408320099&sr=8-3&keywords=bicycle+speakers+handlebar
I just got one of these

And i have to say for the price its really nice. Not the best sound quality but it gets loud and has pretty decent bass considering the size and price. Good battery life, also its splash proof which was a big selling point for me.
