99% of sex therapists would listen to your story, ask some questions, and then if they think you're both serious about fixing the sexual side of your relationship, they'd do two things.

  1. They'd tell you to find a much better solution to the contraception issue. Part of your wife's aversion to sex is almost certainly a deep-seated fear of getting pregnant again. She needs to get an implant (called Nexplanon). It's THE safest form of birth control, even safer than getting a vasectomy or getting her tubes tied. One brief doctor's visit every four years and she can forget about getting pregnant.

  2. They'd hand you several pages of instruction for Sensate Focus Therapy and ask you to do the first set of activities at home before your next visit. And basically that would be your homework for the next 3 months, and your therapy sessions would be about your progress, and any issues that came up.

But you can get the instructions online and the two of you can do them on your own of you prefer.

SFT starts by taking sex completely off the agenda. It's about reconnecting with the simple pleasures of touch, and enjoying giving and receiving physical affection that ISN'T about sex

This is an Ikee Acrylic storage container that I purchased to organize my messy collection of sheet masks. The dividers inside the drawers make it absolutely perfect for storing most of them. It's like this was created to house sheet masks.

I did the same thing but bought nail polish racks from Amazon. They're perfect for paints and can be nailed into the wall very easily!

i bought them in a bundle of like 30 about...... 5 years ago now? most of the brushes were duplicates but i still use the contour, blush, highlight, and most of the eye brushes from the set and they were like... 12 dollars for 30 or so brushes. i’m surprised i found them but
here they are

u/xtwistedxlovex · 18 pointsr/LifeProTips

I use something like this - not the pointed end, and never drag it across the skin - with good results. Just position the loop with the blackhead in the center and gently push toward the skin. If the head doesn't come out, don't force it.

u/CTSVERROR · 16 pointsr/Marriage

I purchased this massage table for my wife for her birthday. It didn't cost much and we have used it at least 20 times in the last year.

When ever I feel like she had a hard day I will set it up, turn down the lights and have alexa play "spa music" (who knew there was such a thing) then call her into the bedroom for a massage. Best $82.00 I have spent, she really loves it.

u/invisiblespacedog · 11 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

The absolute best brushes I've ever used in my life are these Bestope face brushes from Amazon. They're a set of 8 for $8, and they're the softest things ever. They're the perfect density, and I've had them for a year and there's been no shedding or any problems. I reach for these more than my Sephora brushes!

u/MizDiana · 10 pointsr/asktransgender

Do you have $50 to blow? I'd say go to Sephora, schedule a makeover (you have to spend $50 on product), and then ask them to do a simple, easy to learn style that could be used every day and makes you look feminine/female. Overall, you can get the same look with drug store stuff as with more expensive brands. The difference is usually the durability (cheap mascara dries up & flakes off after 5 hours, say) and how easy it is to put on.

My basics: foundation (ask a store employee for color, usually it should match the skin tone of your neck/chest/underarm), concealer for beard shadow (a little more pinkish/orangish than usual if you're covering up dark beard shadow on a light-skinned face), mascara, lipstick. Also, usually bronzer. (Brush it on beneath the cheekbone. Start at the ear, and hook it under the cheekbone. Don't extend past horizontally past where your eye starts. Adds some color & the darkness in that area makes it look like you have real cheekbones, which many of us don't.)

Hygiene: Do NOT use the floor samples at any makeup store. Makeup can carry bacteria. You don't want other people's skin diseases. A store employee doing a makeover or showing you a sample should clean it with an alcohol spray before using. Ask about this. Also, once a month or so clean your brushes with alcohol (ELF makes a cheap alcohol spray that isn't as rough as plain isopropyl rubbing alcohol, though that works too.

Removal: Makeup removal wipes are a rip-off, though I do have one pack for my gym locker. I prefer a simple oil, as makeup is generally oil-soluble. Something relatively cheap, like cold-pressed almond oil, will wipe makeup right off and be much healthier than fancy makeup removers. (Except mascara, which is usually water soluble.) Take off makeup, towel (or old t-shirt) off the oil, wash face with water, and apply moisturizer before bed. Sleeping in makeup isn't great for your skin.

Brushes: I'd look for a brush set on Amazon. Makeup in stores can be a good deal. Brushes are always a rip off in stores. I prefer animal hair, and bought this set:

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1PC5MA5316

Cheaper:

https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B001JKTTVQ/ref=twister_B00MPAVC82?_encoding=UTF8&th=1

Or this if you're going to splurge:

https://smile.amazon.com/SHANY-Professional-Brush-Leather-Look-Badger/dp/B002DOSSYG/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1526426788&sr=8-3&keywords=makeup+brush+set+animal+hair

There are a variety of all-synthetic brushes if you don't want something that uses animal hair though, like this:

https://smile.amazon.com/ZOREYA-Brushes-Leather-Contour-EyeShadow/dp/B01N9RJ4D7/ref=sr_1_6_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1526426788&sr=8-6&keywords=makeup+brush+set+animal+hair

For liquid foundation: some cheap teardrop sponges. For primer, silicone applicators. Like so:

https://smile.amazon.com/Cosmetic-Silicone-Blending-iFanze-Concealer/dp/B071NDHJ6Y/ref=sr_1_6_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1526427802&sr=1-6&keywords=beauty+sponge+%2B+silicon

SPF: the sun is your enemy. Always wear SPF anywhere that will be exposed to the sun.

What basics do I actually use: Sephora-brand liquid foundation (lotion I put on before makeup is SPF), sephora lipstick (SPF), Sephora primer. (Which I use only if I want my makeup to last 10+ hours - makeup is absorbed into the skin. Sephora filling primer is kind of like vaseline-light and will prevent that. Also, ever so slightly reduces wrinkles - not by much.) Sephora concealer too, but they canceled my favorite shade. Dunno what I'll go with when I run out.

Ulta bronzer. Simple, cheap.

Mascara is covergirl (gym bag) or Urban Decay (expensive, but I like it).

I also have a variety of other lipsticks, eye shadows that I got as a gift from friends (yay) or Ulta promotional items. I usually don't bother with eye liner or eye shadow (I prefer light eye shadows, NOT smokey or dark eye shadows, as trans women already tend to have more shadow from deeper-set eyes). Once in a LONG while I play with contouring, blush, highlighters, but I don't bother usually. Heck, many days I'll just put on some concealer on my upper lip and call it good now that laser means I don't have beard shadow most places.

I probably spent about $200 in my first 4 months of makeup. Then about $20 once every three months since then.

I had a discussion a couple of years ago with a couple who did this in London on two occasions. Overall, they said it was a good experience and it motivated them to learn more, but they wished they had done it a bit differently the first time.

They said the massages were great, but that they found it distracting to have both massages happening side-by-side at the same time. They both said they spent too much time looking around and listening to what was going on on the other table, and that it interfered with the receptive meditation practice that is such an important part of getting a tantric massage.

Anyway, after working on doing it at home, they went back for a second session, but this time they asked to have it set up as hands-on instructions. The massages were given in sequence instead of simultaneously, with one person on the table and the other getting a one-on-one tutorial.

They said they learned a lot more from the second session, and that having a four-handed massage at times was even hotter than the original. They continued to exchange tantric massages at home after that, and eventually stumbled across my blog, which has an extended section on tantric massage, which is why they wrote to me about their experience.

They had some suggestions for other couples that I would interpret this way:

  1. Get a good, inexpensive massage table (like this one and a book on sensual massage (like this one, and practice exchanging at least 4 or 5 full-body massages with your partner before you schedule anything.

  2. Follow the directions in the tantra blog (see below) in terms of preparation and meditation.

  3. Study some erotic massage videos like the ones mentioned in "Video tutorials for massage and oral techniques."

  4. When you schedule your massages, ask the giver(s) to do one massage at a time, and teach you as they go.

The point they wanted to emphasize was that they thought most couples will get MUCH more out of the paid session if they have already started learning the basics.

Here's the link for the blog:

Nail pens

Pure jojoba oil

I follow Simply Nailogical on youtube and she made a video on how to grow your nails long. That may or may not apply to you, but her tips are good for nail health in general. She recommends jojoba oil to put in the pens. They are refillable, though some people in the reviews can't seem to figure it out lol.

I keep one in my purse and one at my desk, and try to apply whenever I can remember. I brush the oil on my cuticles, the skin around my nails, along the sides of my nails (between the nail and the skin), and underneath my nails, because I 99% of the time have polish on lol. But when I've removed my polish, I apply to the whole nail too.

Hope this helps!

Yes, there are. I had a Baratza Encore and had a similar problem where it would always leave some grinds all over the place. Since I upgraded to a Baratza Vario I no longer have the problem.

I do have something that will help you without buying a new grinder.

Get one of these small mist bottles.

Fill it with water.

Give your beans a couple quick sprays before you throw them in the grinder. Don't soak them or anything just a couple sprays so they have a little mist on them. It will almost completely eliminate any static or stuck grinds.

u/CorvusCoraxx · 7 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I do! For anyone in the US here's the sigma dupes, and here is the RT dupes. Also I found the bamboo set and this one comes with an extra brush I totally wish came with mine. Not sure of the quality of these as I haven't tried them myself but i'd guess its pretty similar.

u/mnmcookie08 · 7 pointsr/calmhands

I actually made my own cuticle oil pens. A mix of jojoba and vitamin e oil. I bought the pens from Amazon

Since these are so handy I kept them everywhere - my nightstand, end table by the couch, my desk, in the kitchen, purse, any other place you can think of. The key for me was to not be caught without the cuticle oil pen within arms reach at any time.

Can’t take credit for this - I saw Simply Nailogical’s video on how to care for your nails. She is pretty knowledgeable.

I have these makeup brushes that keep fluctuating slightly below and slightly above $10. Otherwise, I also have a Sims 3 expansion pack and a Copic book that also fluctuates, but if they're all over $10 by the time the contest ends, anything from my ~$10 wishlist would be fine. :D

holy crap this is scary as fuck! please please please be careful. it's very obvious you don't know what you are doing. remember 2 grams is 2,000 pills. don't try to eyeball doses or keybumps or anything like that. first step: get a milligram scale!!!! you said earlier you have a gemini 20, that's would work just fine. then you are going to need a graduated cylinder, and some PG. i do 2mg per 1 ml of pg. so i weigh out 100mg of etizolam, carefully measure out 50 ml of pg then mix the two in a vial. just shake it hard core then let it rest overnight then shake it some more (takes it a while to dissolve in PG). make sure to store the vial outside of sunlight because that damages the etizolam (i wrapped electrical tape around my travel vial). then get a transfer pipette or oral syringe and make your dose (half a ml for 1 pill, 1ml for 2 pills). tastes horrible, best to put it in a drink or have a chaser handy. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!! it's hard to measure out under half a ml accurately so 10mg a ml means you HAVE to do at least 5 at a time. it's just a good recipe to extreme and dangerous addiction and would make it even harder to taper off.

u/OutlookGood · 5 pointsr/LifeProTips

An extraction tool like this one causes less damage on my skin than using fingers or needles to deal with pimples and ingrown hairs. It will still leave a tiny wound, of course. It seems to me that a dab of Neosporin before bed seems to make that unnoticeable by morning, but I keep reading that Neosporin is no more effective than Vasoline for healing. The trick for scar-free healing is apparently to avoid scabbing which Vasoline will also do. And they say every exposure to Neosporin is another chance to develop a reaction to one of the three antibiotics in it. I still use it though, mostly for the pain-killing effect. No more ouchies.

If you are more patient there are many types of razor bump lotions. Most of them use salicylic acid as the active ingredient which exfoliates, eventually removing the layer of skin trapping the hair. I can't tell you how long it would take, and they are probably more effective used regularly to prevent future ingrown hairs.

I use Stridex Pads for the salicylic acid on some areas I shave that are prone to razor bumps and as long as I use it immediately after shaving, I never see bumps. Skip it and it's a fifty-fifty chance I'll see a few bumps. It contains alcohol and sometimes stings freshly-shaven skin, but we keep them on hand, so it saves buying and storing another product.

You could also dissolve uncoated aspirins in water and swab that on, for another on-hand source of salicylic acid. The razor bump lotions will contain skin conditioners, maybe thickeners to make it cling to the skin, and other ingredients like fragrances to make it more pleasant to use, but effectively it should work about the same.

I got a knockoff from amazon for about $40 and I really enjoy it. I got lazy about recharging it and stopped using it for a few months and definitely noticed a negative change in my skin where I tend to get oily and touch my face during the day. My breakouts have improved since I charged it back up and started using it again. It makes my skin feel softer than after just regular washing with my hands. I agree with u/2pmwhiskey, I feel like it helps give me a more thorough clean when I'm too tired to do a great job on my own. After ~ two years, it's still working fine. I will notice sometimes the vibrations will slow and then speed up for no reason, but it doesn't seem to affect how well it cleans my face.

u/chemkara · 4 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Get these refillable oil pens, fill them with Jojoba oil. It is the closest (molecule wise) to our lipids. And use them on the nail bed and around cuticles whenever you can. I keep one next to bed, one at work, one in pocket and use after hand washing. You will see a difference in about a week. No more dry cuticles or brittle nails.

You can get a pack of 4 beauty blender dupes for like 2 dollars on amazon too

Personally, I think the only reason they're able to make 20 dollars a pop off of 1 Oz of sponge is because they know how to market and package it. It's clearly not even in the ream of costing that much to make.

u/bobcat_90 · 3 pointsr/AskWomen

u/1877cherns4cherns · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Ugh. I know how frustrating it can be to not know where to start. Hopefully we can help you!

I would agree with the previous comment. Go to Sephora and get color matched for a foundation and a color-correcting undereye concealer. You have beautiful skin and I think a light coverage, but Dewey foundation would be the best (I really like the Bare Minerals liquid foundation).

As for blush, I would stick to warmer colors to best flatter your skin tone. This Sleek blush palette in Lace would be a great place to start. Great value, great colors, and it will give you an idea about what you like.

Invest in a quality eyelash curler (important!). Curl as close to the roots as possible and work your way up. Find a drugstore mascara you love.

I'm pretty ignorant about eyeshadow, but I think the Naked 3 palette or any rose-gold palette would look gorgeous on you. You can use a concealer as an eyeshadow primer.

As far as lips go, it's a matter of experimentation. I think warm, rosy colors would look incredible on you, especially if they have a hydrating formula. Ask a Sephora makeup artist to show you different shades, and you can find similar ones at the drugstore.

Quality brushes are essential when starting out. Don't skimp and you'll never look back. You will need a foundation brush, a crease brush (you can easily use this in crease and on lid until you get a flat shader brush specifically for the lid -- just clean in between colors), and a blush brush. Later, you can invest in a fluffy crease brush
for better blending and a flat shader brush.

I hope this helps! Try some things out, and post a picture when you're gone so we can give you CC. I would use a better quality picture next time, so we can see :)

Have fun!

There are so many sonic cleansers on amazon that are much cheaper than the clarisonic or foreo. Like literally saves you hundreds of dollars and works just as well- which is a godsend for my skincare addiction.

I love my Muji drawers. I have the two of the large 2-drawer ones, and they stack beautifully. The drawers feel luxe -- a heavy weight acrylic -- and glide very nicely. For the sake of comparison, I also have this organizer. The acrylic is a bit thinner, the edges aren't as smooth, and the drawers don't glide as easily. But, the price point is better, it holds a boatload of stuff, and it's Prime eligible. I access my acrylic organizers daily for my makeup staples vs. for added storage, so I appreciate the quality/user experience of Muji drawers. I'd definitely repurchase them if I need more storage in the future.

This desk from Wayfair is actually the one I purchased, however in espresso. I'm pretty pleased with it. I have everything in easy reach and still have a ton of "work space" to get ready.

I also have these for my nail polishes. Be aware that the sides are open though, so if you have cats you probably want it out of their reach. I learned that lesson the hard way. 🙄 It is really hard to see what color polishes you have when you have them stored away, so if you have space for something like this I highly recommend it if she's into nail polish. I just got some of these these empty brush pens things from Amazon and filled them with jojoba oil, also from Amazon, and I just leave them on every surface in my house and every bag I own. I learned this from this youtube video by simply nailogical!! I have fancy peel off base coats but the sally hansen one works just as well for our purposes lol

u/tourmaline82 · 2 pointsr/AsianBeauty

Ah, I have little experience with cold weather yet. Just moved to Colorado so we'll see how my lips do in winter! I'm thinking about getting an empty lip gloss tube, like what indie makeup sellers use, and seeing if that works for vitamin E. Let me know if you find an on the go product that works for you though!

EDIT: I was thinking a tube like these. If it holds cuticle oil, it should hold vitamin E oil, right?

u/greendaisyblackstem · 2 pointsr/PanPorn

Absolutely! I got these 3ml ones off amazon. I liked them cause they were pretty cheap but came with prime and I didn’t have to buy too many.

They come with the top off already but you can also pull out the bottom and screw the plunger back down to reuse them. I tested it twice

u/geb999 · 2 pointsr/DIY_eJuice

thanks. the $11 Amazon price was still cheaper than what I saw on ebay. I'm a prime member so I get free shipping. Amazon got me with an impulse buy too. A item "suggested for me" was some sort of two piece make up organizer. I think it would be perfect to hold all my building gear and wire etc. The top piece I'll use for individual mixes - I'll look up what I need for the juices I'm going to mix that day and put them in the top rack and bring them up into the house. I have little kids in the house so I keep all my vape related stuff in the garage - it's an attached garage so I don't have to go outside for anything. I'm regulated to vaping in the garage as well. here's the item: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BCOFYF8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I know what you mean about the tough plastic bottles you can't squeeze - vape wild sells their juices in those bottles - they suck. you can break your fingers trying to squeeze out juice.

u/tb3648 · 2 pointsr/CFBOffTopic

A nail polish or two. I personally like sally hansen complete manicure polishes but a lot of people like opi. Butters has some super nice ones but more expensive.

A birchbox subscription could be fun- you pay $10 a month and fill out a thing on what you're skin tone and all that is and what you prefer and they send you 5-6 pretty decent samples a month of makeup, face stuff, perfumes, etc.

At sephora they have a bunch of mini sized items too that make good stocking stuffers.

I like Elf's bronzer blush duo

Also if she doesn't have one and has room for it on her bathroom counter or somewhere around there, I found getting a acruylic (or something similar) makeup organizer helps save time versus a makeup bag. Something like this

u/Nylerak · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I'm lazy, so I have a lot of beauty hacks to make this kind of stuff much quicker. For instance:

  1. Use dry shampoo the night before so it absorbs overnight.
  2. Use a nail buffer when you have no time for polish. Your nails will at least look shiny.
  3. Find a bb cream you like to combine lotion+sunscreen+foundation in one step.
  4. Use a washed mascara wand with hairspray to smooth flyaways.
  5. Vaseline Rosy Lips gives you color and moisture. You can use it on cheeks and lips.
  6. Nude lipstick, easy to apply, less mistakes.
  7. (Having a makeup organizer so I don't have to look for anything)[https://www.amazon.com/Unique-Home-Acrylic-Cosmetic-Organizer/dp/B01BCOFYF8/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1484244977&sr=8-2&keywords=makeup+organizer]
  8. brow mascara is the easiest thing ever and keeps eyebrows polished all day!

Hi! I also have super dry skin that looks best when left alone, and have noticed it is super sensitive to cleansers. Your cleanser may be too harsh for your skin. The only cleansing that my skin likes is oil cleansing, and this product is great because it washes off:
https://www.amazon.com/Cleansing-Moisturizing-Cleanser-Sensitive-Rosemary/dp/B07777BXJ9/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1518826993&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=oil+cleanser&psc=1

I also wash with this instead of a face brush because it cleans well but isn't abrasive:

Depot! Makes everything so much easier and faster. I don't have to fumble through products to find what I want everyday. I don't have a very big collection either and I think it works really well with smaller collections. The reason I depoted is also so I could see and use more of my collection, and use products from different palettes at the same time without going back and forth (which I would find myself not doing). It works perfectly for everyday and for travel. At home I keep all my eyeshadows in one double-sided MAC palette and my blushes, contour, and a setting powder in single sided MAC palette. For travel I just take the eyeshadows, blush, contour and stick them in the same palette, so I can put on most of my face out of there.

By the way, The BEST way to depot is using the Goss method. I place one product at a time in a ~210 degree oven for about 3-4 minutes. Then immediately dig out the metal pan using an extracting tool like this one. I do my best to bend the packaging, not the tin if needed. If it doesn't pop right out, I slide a sturdy knife straight under it (vs prying it up at the edges) through a crevice created my the extraction tool.

squeezing blackheads out can cause a lot of damage to your skin because they are very difficult to get out. your fingernails and squeezing the skin can cause a scratch, which it looks like you did scratch yourself. i would use a blackhead extractor tool if you really want to get them out yourself. you can find them on amazon.
also before you try to extract your blackheads make sure you place a very warm washcloth on your face to open up your pores. or just take a warm shower. :)

You know, I tried out the neutral palette thing for a while and it's great for some occasions. But it's so much fun working with colors!

The 252 was on sale on Amazon when I bought it for $20. It was a really brief dip in price and I thought "there's never a better time!"

Excessive? Probably. I see a lot of nearly the same shades repeated in the palette. I would say whatever you're comfortable spending would really be the factor in this. It's not excessively priced for $26 (with prime) and I like the variety.

I think if you had a good eyeshadow base to fall back on, getting a smaller palette wouldn't be a problem. For me, this is my eyeshadow palette. The only one, until I can get more (there was a thief let loose), so spending $20 on the 252 was a good investment for me.

u/Kainiaa · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I have the Coastal Scents 252 color palette. You can usually find it on Amazon around $30 and the colors are great. Just make sure you prime and use a white base beforehand and they stick beautifully. :)

An old version of a small bottle + eye dropper

u/Bruh-Nanaz · 2 pointsr/CBD

Hey man I do this too and I got a few tips for ya. If you're not using 90%+ ethanol you need to switch right now. Your pills will have much less chlorophyll (making it easier on the stomach) and other undesirables that may or may not hinder absorption. Make sure you freeze both the ethanol and flower for 6-8 hours before you do your rinse.

Additionally, for trim you only need to agitate the solution for a minute or two and then strain immediately, as the larger surface area of the trim means that the oil will more readily mix with the ethanol than chunks of flower would. You'll also get less crud this way. If you're using CBD for pain relief or another ailment, consider doing a shorter, partial decarboxylation, as CBDa is another very useful cannabinoid.

I use a [pill sorter I got off ebay for <$15] (https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2545226.m570.l1312.R2.TR10.TRC2.A0.H0.Xca.TRS2&_nkw=capsule+filling+machine&_sacat=0) that helps tremendously, as well as a reusable glass syringe for filling. I used to make pills quite a bit up until recently, now I carry a bottle with an eyedropper in it as it's portable and I can dose fairly accurately throughout the day. I'm also getting a buchner filtration kit to purify the extract further.

One last tip, if you're worried about the psychoactive effects of high doses of your extract (I know exactly what you're talking about) try adding terpenes like Myrcene and Beta-Caryophyllene. I use those two, plus limonene and a/b-pinene. Those have drastically reduced my experience of being intoxicated and made my extracts much more tolerable.

Good luck bro

I bought the different oils separately and put it in an amber dropper bottle. I mixed the argan oil, jojoba oil, and lemongrass oil in a 20:20:1 ratio. The lemongrass is more of just a scent than a functional oil (it's very strong), so you might replace it with some other aromatic oil like tea tree, eucalyptus, or cinnamon oil depending on your SOs preference. I hope you and your SO like it! You might google around for other recipes, but argan and jojoba will make up the bulk of most recipes.

edit: and this is the brush I got, it works great

I appreciate all women who commit to their shoes. I am the type who will keep their shoes on the entire time their out but will also accept if someone offers me a piggy back ride to the car.

I use mac cork as my eyebrow color and my casual every day crease color all the time. The mac naked essential palette has a color I use too. Pencils look better using the same tip to top method but I just can't make pencil look good on me so I stay with powder then gel.

On the contouring I'm happy to say I've also had that issue and I've figured it out I use a flat top kabuki brush to make very solid thin lines with the side of the brush then use the flat top part to buff it out. I bought these on a whim before christmas and they actually are pretty solid and a good choice. I have to condition them after washing but it worth the extra work for how well they work/the price

Youtube channels or pinteresting videos are an awesome starting point for techniques and honest product reviews.

My real suggestion if you have the money to spare is to go to a makeup artist and PAY for a lesson--not only can they recommend products which will work with your skin and work how YOU want them, but we can help you with application techniques and work with you to ensure you're good to go on your own..it's a one time (or more if you please) investment which is totally worth the money! :)

Somethings I love & would recommend to anyone:
-Pore Reducing Primer -- NYX Makes an awesome and inexpensive one which is comparable to other, more expensive products NYX Pore Filler Helps reduce appearance of enlarged pores
-A BB cream is a nice start for a light, yet buildable foundation and a good entry into using a foundation-esque product. Like I said, you can build up as much coverage as is needed! (I LOVE mac or Laura Mercier) MAC Prep + Prime BB Cream
-Blush, Bronzer and Contouring go a LONG way (I love NARS orgasm for blush for my skin tone--and NYX Taupe for contour--my bronzers..welll..I have an addiction!)
-A Beauty blender applicator is FANTASTIC for applying foundations flawlessly [beauty blender--but off brands are A-OK(http://www.amazon.com/Beautyblender-Ultimate-Makeup-Sponge-Applicator/dp/B000HRVC5I)
-Brushes.Brushes.Brushes. Now, I'm not saying that you have to run out and get professional style brushes--BUT they'll help blend everything together perfectly.

If a one on one makeup lesson isn't within your budget right now, I'd suggest perhaps a Sephora where you can try different products would be helpful--it's no cost, and you can FEEL different products within your budget!

My hack for dealing with the awful pump is this little spray bottle I got off Amazon. I ordered it so I could travel with this, but I've just continued decanting it into this container and spraying it into my palm, then spreading it on my face/neck/chest. So much less floor clean-up this way.

For me, I clean everyones machine before I touch them for service. People with brown keyboards, do you even shower or what? I had one customer tell me that she had pink eye the week before... I could't even see the letters on the keyboard it was covered in so much crap... literally.

Anyway, unless you use your computer to wipe your ass, just use distilled water in a little spray bottle and microfiber cloths I get in bulk from my local auto parts store. Way cheaper than any kit and it's the same thing as most all lens cleaners.

The main thing you should't do is use anything that has alcohol in it or stuff that talks about "lifting oils away". Yeah, it will lift the oils along with the optical coatings that reduce glare.

For more info on keeping your Apple devices clean, visit the following site...

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204172

For a MacBook:

> When cleaning the outside of your MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air, first shut down your computer and unplug the power adapter. Then use a damp, soft, lint-free cloth to clean the computer's exterior. Avoid getting moisture in any openings. Do not spray liquid directly on the computer. Don't use aerosol sprays, solvents, abrasives, or cleaners containing hydrogen peroxide that might damage the finish.

> To clean the screen on your MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air, first shut down the computer and unplug the power adapter. Then use a damp, soft, lint-free cloth.

> Important: The bottom case of the MacBook (13-inch, Late 2009) and MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2010) uses a soft nonslip material. Use a 3M Gray Microfiber or soft dye-free, lint-free cloth to clean the bottom case.

For iPad:

> Handle your iPad with care to maintain its appearance. If you are concerned about scratching or abrasion, you can use one of the many cases sold separately. To clean iPad, unplug all cables and turn off iPad (press and hold the Sleep/Wake button, and then slide the onscreen slider). Use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid getting moisture in openings. Don't use window cleaners, household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia, abrasives, or cleaners containing hydrogen peroxide to clean iPad. iPad has an oleophobic coating on the screen; simply wipe iPad's screen with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove oil left by your hands. The ability of this coating to repel oil will diminish over time with normal usage, and rubbing the screen with an abrasive material will further diminish its effect and may scratch your screen."

1. Hard choice, but I THINK it'd be Maybelline. They have great makeup and great bargains. Or maybe E.L.F...

2.

Face: Maybelline Fit Me concealer. That stuff is. amaze. balls.

Cheek: It's weird, but the L'Oreal Fairest Nude Lipstick, because it creates the most beautiful, natural blush.

Lip: Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon, because it's beautimous.

3. Revlon Creme Eyeshadow. I have a quad, and it's so weird. Gunky, gross, and NEVER FREAKING DRIES. Well, I mean, you know, not necessarily dry, but y'know what I mean? That stuff stays about 2 seconds on my lids before sliding off, and I don't have oily lids :(

4. A lot of stuff from E.L.F. I mean, some of their stuff really is worth that $1 you spent on it, but I've had a good experience with most of their products. The one in particular I'm thinking of is their dollar eyelash curler. Maybe I don't love on my eyelashes enough, but I think an eyelash curler is an eyelash curler, and I'd rather buy a new lip product than one of those!

5. I think CoverGirl Quads are pretty great (:

6. Physician's Formula is sorta pricey for what it is.

7. I don't have any thing 'dupeable' because all I have is drugstore:(

8. I honestly don't know, just starting out in makeup, I do a lot of research on here and MUA before buying. Most of what I've bought so far seems pretty good (:

9. Oh God, so many come to mind...I think what I'd most like to try is the Maybelline Fit Me foundation, because the concealer was so freaking amazing!!

10. I don't know... true makeup, probably either this or this. Makeup accessories probably these or these.. But the thing I seriously need that is only makeup related for me is this, because I literally sit on a bucket to do my makeup. Wow, all of that makes me sound like a spoiled brat...Just for the record, I don't expect anyone to actually get them for me, they're just high up there on my WL (: Thank you so so much for the contest!!!

Thanks for hosting!!

Here is my pup Lilly! She's a rat terrior mix. She's almost 3 years old and a huge cuddle bug.

Lilly is OBSESSED with my (mean) cat, who's name is Kitty. Kitty just kinda comes and goes as he pleases. He's old and grumpy!

BONUS picture of my sister's new puppy (I'm obsessed with him) [Teddy!!](http://i.imgur.com/zWlXLub.jpg} He's a maltipoo and sooo cute and fluffy.

Some funny pictures: my family was trying to get a "family photo" with Lilly, Teddy, and my brother's dog (Tucker) and this is what happened.....chaos.

Edit- from my wishlist I would take this Sigma brush and this milani blush.

u/autumnfalln · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I think I saw some other people suggest this on here, but you could spend some time trying to make your cubicle less...cubiclely! Decorate it, make it cute and stuff. DIY some simple things that you're able to do at work- fabric covered memo board, origami decorations, inspirational quote printables, etc.

You can also exercise your mind! Try sudoku or crosswords or search the App store or Google Play for some logic puzzles. One of my absolute favorites is Unblock Me! So fun!

Become an expert on something! Research Ancient Egyptian history, the Sonic the Hedgehog gene, or learn all about Theodore Roosevelt!

And you can always go on Pinterest and pin-binge on delicious and cute cupcake recipes to make at home later. ;D

You can also do some discreet exercises in your cubicle. Might as well get paid to work out, haha! One thing that I like to do sometimes that strengthens and stretches out your legs and feet is to trace the alphabet in the air with both feet. Don't like, put your leg up in the air, just while you're sitting in your chair at your desk, just lift up your foot off the ground just enough so you aren't touching it anymore and trace through each letter of the alphabet.

You could also use your spare time to do some creative writing or drawing projects if you're into that sort of thing!

I hope some of these ideas help to break you out of your Cubicle Coma! Thank you so much for this contest!! If I win, I would love this brush! Thanks again! =D

I had this set for the last three years and only recently upgraded. They were really great in allowing me to try out brushes, figure out what I was going for, and gradually increase/improve my collection.

I still use them occasionally even though I have a high(er) end set from Royall & Taylor (that I'd also totally recommend -- 12 pieces for $40 on Amazon).

u/redd1tr1dingh00d · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This is the big set I have. I have a few other random brushes and my foundation brush is from Sephora, but this set has worked really well for me.

Try a salmon toned color correcting concealer. LA Girl makes a really good salmon concealer, and so does Urban Decay. You can tap the product on with your finger to blend out the product under your eyes. I find that the Urban Decay concealer is very soft and buildable.

For blackheads and clogged pores, try using a facial cleansing tool after a hot shower. It looks like a metal hoop on one side and a sharp point on the other side. I highly recommend watching demos on YouTube before trying it out, because it's really hard to explain how to use it without visuals. This tool will help you clean out the deeply clogged pores that a pore strip or facial cleanser might not be able to catch. Be very careful with it and always remember to sanitize it with alcohol before and after using it. I also highly recommend trying a Clarisonic for everyday cleansing.

I occasionally get my teeth whitened at a spa, but I only get them done if I need instant results. I've used Crest 3D white toothpaste before and noticed better results than other brands.

Nice, your first contest! That must be exciting. I like the peculiar cost limit of $5.51, it's interesting :)

Coolest thing on my wishlist for under the target price is a handy dandy purse organizer, since my purse is always in a constant state of disarray!

Edit: It's late, I'm completely derping stuff here :c

You can buy baicalin powder on Amazon. You can also buy olive leaf extract with at least standardized 15% oluropein (preferrably more) on Amazon as well.

You also want to turn the powders into a topical solution.

You will need:

  • a glass bottle for essential oil with an eye dropper. You can get it on Amazon or ebay
  • a graduated cylinder, and
  • a funnel

For the solutions, here's what I recommend:

  • 50% ethanol or isopropyl alcohol
  • 30% propylene glycol
  • 20% distilled water

For the baicalin solution, mix in 10mg per millilitre. So, if you have a container with 60ml, then you want to mix in 600mg. This creates a 1% solution of baicalin. If you want, you may increase the concentration of baicalin. Perhaps 20mg/ml for a 2% solution, or even 50mg/ml for a 5% solution.

For oluropein, the rule of thumb is just mix in 10 capsules (unless you get pure powder).
u/brbcoding · 1 pointr/bourbon

I actually use a water dropper like this, starting with 2 drops or so and adding more as needed. You'd be surprised how much a couple of drops change the whiskey.

u/DollarStoreClassy · 1 pointr/Drugs

Next time I would highly recommend you dissolve your Alprazolam powder in Everclear, it tastes better as it doesn't linger as much, and its able to hold more mg of powder per ml of Everclear.

You can order droppers such as these and then calculate how many mg of Alprazolam you have per ml by dosing it with the cc dropper.

I prefer to put my xannies on sour patch kids for on the go. The taste is pretty fowl, but if you let it soak up for awhile (using Everclear vs Propylene glycol helps too) you can hardly taste the absorbed liquid.

u/jburrke · 1 pointr/electronic_cigarette

Well, there's Container & Packaging, which I use for bulk orders. There's also Bottles.com, which isn't bad but a bit more expensive.

But, honestly, when I was into DIY and just making a few bottles I just ordered from amazon. Here's a link for 1oz (30ml) amber glass bottles, and a link for 2 oz amber glass bottles.

I've ordered both of those before and they're nice and high quality. Feel free to look around on amazon for better deals, though.

I actually started buying bath & body stuff on Etsy years before I ever found this sub (or reddit!) I was just looking for natural products for my husband's sensitive skin. Eventually I got into makeup subscriptions, which then led me again to want natural cosmetics for myself...and so found my way here. :)

I don't think I'll ever bother pressing, personally. I'm comfortable using loose product and it just seems like too much hassle for me. I've purchased sample baggies and after much griping to my hubby over using them, he surprised me with a whole bunch of small jars to put them in. :)

u/ThirteenDream · 1 pointr/Indiemakeupandmore

On Amazon, the 5 gram jars are usually slightly cheaper than the 3 gram jars.

I also bought the bead container ones, but those jars wear really big. I don't use them for eyeshadow.

Thank you for the inspiration! I have ordered these little doodads and can't wait to experiment. These would go nicely in the little holiday gift baskets I am making.

It sounds like you're in a similar place as I was a couple years ago, so let me just info dump the bits I've picked up.

This tutorial helped me a lot with blending eyeshadow. The other thing I did was look all over the internet for people who had the same kind of eyes as me, and then see what kind of looks they did, and how they placed their eyeshadow. But honestly, the best thing you can do is practice.

I would highly recommend picking up some kind of neutral eyeshadow palette: and buy JUST ONE. I know a ton of people spend lots of money on lots of palettes and that's perfectly fine, but using one palette for an extended period of time will give you a better idea of what you like. For example, I bought Naked Basics 1, and at first I loved it, because eyeshadow! Then I hated it, because I thought the shadows wouldn't blend. Then I bought proper brushes and practiced with new tips: suddenly, I loved the shadows again because they blended. So first (and second) impressions may not be correct (which is why it's important to practice skills first, before jumping in and buying huge hauls). I also figured out that cool-tones are not so great on me, by figuring out which shades in UD Basics 1 looked good on my skintone, and which ones washed me out. Some options: Too Faced Natural Eyes, UD Basics, Lorac Pro 1, KVD Shade and Light, UD Naked 1, Wet N Wild Comfort Zone.

Here's the brush set I'm using right now. I'm ridiculously in love, because they were so cheap, and so soft. Seriously, I would pay 5x this price for these brushes. They have a bit of a chemical smell when you recieve them, but it goes away if you wash it.

Some random tips that helped me: don't try to blend on top of primer. Set down some neutral wash of shadow all over the lid, like Wet n Wild Creme Brulee or UD Foxy, it'll set your primer, and you can blend on top of that. Only pick up small amounts of shadow at a time, if you stab your brush into black shadow and touch it onto your lid, no matter how much you blend you will end up with a black spot of eyeshadow. Work in small motions, be patient with your blending. It will get better with practice.

As for lip color, I recommend similar things. Try researching and buying drugstore lipsticks first, because they'll be cheaper and you can get a better sense of what you like before spending a lot more money. As a beginner in makeup, it's too easy to buy a hugeeee amount of things because this subreddit suggests you do, but buy only a couple things at a time, and don't be afraid to return if you don't like it.

Hopefully that helped a little, feel free to shoot me any questions if you have any!

It's meant for nail polish but it holds paint just as well, and it looks nifty to boot.

Only downside is you need to nail it to the wall, so it's not optimal if you're in a situation where you can't do that.

u/HermioneGee · 1 pointr/makeuporganization

I actually had a big corner desk for my collection before I got my Alex drawers and those small plastic drawers from Walmart were a lifesaver! However since you are interested in going with the acrylic drawers, I would highly recommend them. They display your makeup beautifully. I got my large acrylic units from Amazon. They hold so much! I store my palettes in drawers but If you want them on display I like the idea of a wall mount or maybe a mail organizer.

u/alyssaxmoore · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

I actually just got this one from amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MFX4B3C/ref=s9_hps_bw_g194_i3

With tax and everything, it came to $53. It is a little smaller than I thought it'd be, but it still fits all my makeup & the drawers are pretty deep. My makeup finalllly looks nice and organized now! I really like it :)

u/TheBulletproofBeauty · 1 pointr/makeuporganization

Here are the ones I found on Amazon from a previous poster, can't seem to find the previous post now that I am looking for it (of course). The hacks I have seen are to use really strong mounting tape if you can't or don't want to drill into your walls.

u/First_Refrain · 1 pointr/AsianBeauty

oh haha no, more so like this (I see this one talked about a lot but it's a bit spendy) or this

I saw a manual one on Sephora for a few bucks that had good reviews though!

u/thekuhlest · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I have both the Clarisonic and a Foreo Luna dupe and I much prefer my Foreo Luna dupe (the Solo Mio, at least $100 cheaper - Solo Mio - Amazon). I have dry skin with some texture and I can feel a difference when I use the Solo with my regular cleanser a few times a week. Meanwhile, I find the Clarisonic a bit too irritating for my skin. I also don't think it's the most hygienic.

u/twentyfun · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

I did take a look at the brushes you linked! I have no experience with those myself, but I would still be a little wary of buying more brushes as her gift. I highly recommend the Real Techniques brushes so many others have suggested and I also like the IT Cosmetics brushes - you can find both at Ulta. Maybe get her a gift card for Ulta/Sephora/Morphe for brushes so she can pick them out herself? It would be hard to guess exactly which brushes she would pick out for herself and since she's already gone and purchased a set for herself you won't make that purchase redundant!

As far as other makeup 'gear' goes, the beauty blender u/Balea48 recommended is a good one! They're a staple in a lot of people's makeup bags for good reason. Some things I've also looked into getting for myself recently are cleaning mats like this one from Amazon and this really cool drying rack for makeup brushes from Amazon. I don't know how she stores her makeup permanently, but I'm also a big fan of acrylic or plastic cosmetic organizers like this.
