Not as impressive as some of the ones ive seen on this subreddit, but Im excited! Wake up everyday to change chalk records, and adjust the pennants (velcro on back)

Got the pennants from amazon (https://www.amazon.com/MLB-Mini-Pennant-Teams-Rico/dp/B000EHH8KE)

Spray paint chalk board for the records!

If anyone is interested in buying the set.

The EFX one is pretty good (here's it at Amazon.com), but I think the best value is easily The Black Series stormtrooper helmet, which is being released on Force Friday (September 30). It's even based on the stormtrooper helmets from Rogue One (check out this comparison by "spacebob" on the RPF), and you can already pre-order it from a few places (example). The only problems I can see with it are that the lenses look a little too transparent and Hasbro might find a way to make another surprisingly-terrible voice changer feature.

Search for a tailgate flagpole and base. You park your car tire on the base. Maybe cut a pool noodle to wrap around the bottom of the pole where it could slightly bump your ride. I use something like this.

Hate to break it to you but that's just not going to happen. You need a phone for Twitter and Instagram and Hearthstone and texting on a watch is a pain in the ass. Any internet browsers on watches are as slow as hell at best and basically unusable due to the screen size. And why on Earth would you want to do everything on a tiny screen with a tiny battery?

If you're looking for an arm/wrist mounted computer then just strap a phone to your forearm. There's tons of these kinds of straps and a few of them are water resistant.

You can grab a used copy on Amazon for about $30. '15 won't be for another 6 months or so, so I'd say it's definitely worth it, it's tons of fun.

Workout out clothes - always. Gym bag - never had this one but I linked it on my 'wish list' since it seems to suit my purposes. I just got new shoes last year so I'm good on that. I'm... easy :)

I'm not what one would call 'artistic' so putting one together myself would come out looking like it was done in arts & crafts time at a special ed school. Do you know someone that would commission one? I find it's much easier to pay people that know what they're doing than dicking it up myself and feeling shame

Here is what works for me! Hope it helps :)

Long term storage:

I have a small unit that all the supplies live in permanently, which can stay in a closet or under the bed, and having a separate tote for my current project.

For you I'm picturing something like this: https://www.target.com/p/translucent-tote-handbag-shade-shore-153/-/A-53913203?preselect=53752648#lnk=sametab or

https://smile.amazon.com/Clear-Bag-Stadium-Approved-Games-Cross-Body/dp/B01NAJELJ3/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1543006502&sr=8-3-spons&keywords=zipper+tote&psc=1 or

https://www.target.com/p/sterilite-174-clear-plastic-under-bed-storage-bin-clear-with-white-lid-7gal/-/A-13794483 to hold all your extra fabric, hoops, and floss.

I like to wrap my thread and organize by color, I use these for storage:

https://smile.amazon.com/Plastic-Bobbins-Floss-Needlecraft-Organizer/dp/B000BKVMOM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1543005340&sr=8-3&keywords=floss+bobbin+storage

It has one section that is a bit bigger than the others, which is where I keep needles, seam rippers, thimbles, etc.

Short term - Project in process:

When I am working on a project, I take all the necessary colors and clip them together using one of these binder rings, example:

https://www.staples.com/Staples-Loose-Leaf-Rings-1-Size-Silver/product_481326

Then I have a particular zipper pouch that I keep everything in for a project. There are all kinds of cute ones out there. I'm currently hunting for a zipper pouch which has an interior zipper pocket as well to hold little scissors and a needle threader. Currently I just use a Klein Tool bag that my SO gave me. The hoop, bundle of floss, scissors, etc all fit in there nicely and make it really easy for your project to be portable. It makes it easy to have a central location where the project lives and everything goes back inside every time.

u/IWatchTheBruins · 2 pointsr/hockeygoalies

Yes and I'm livid when I get to the rink and forget the sleeves. It sucks playing without them.

I've got embarrassingly skinny legs, so the bulk helps my knee pads stay in place - but really the extra padding is great for landing. I get much less bruising after (I know I need new knee pads).

I use something like this but not that brand. I ended up with something cheaper in funky colors because it reduced the cost even more... They have a silicon (or something) like strip on the top and bottom elastic that helps them stay in place on my skin. And not just height wise, it kept them rotated the way I want to favor the inside of my knees.

I tried volleyball knee pads. I wish they worked better because they have excellent padding, but didn't find any that had a similar elastic, so they kept shifting out of position, rotating and dropping, on my chicken legs. Though, I'm sure if you spent more you could find a quality pair.

I carry a gun where I can. Most college's won't allow this so it's out of the question. You'd need to get good with it for it to really be effective anyway.

Check knife laws. Most people won't bat an eye at a pocket clip if the knife is small enough though so maybe you can carry on regardless? Check out the Ontario RAT II. It's like $25 and decent enough knife that will spoil you at that price point by being better than some knives that cost $70 or more.

Someone else here mentioned Kubaton, I'd recomment a S&W M&P Tactical Pen (2nd gen) like this one
https://www.amazon.com/Smith-Wesson-SWPENMP2BK-Generation-Tactical/dp/B007DCCOFW
Because it's a kubaton that happens to be a pen. The 2nd gen is better because the cap screw on and and screws on the tail. It's kind of a hassle to take the cap on and off because of this but it makes it a rock solid sturdy last ditch self defense weapon that no one can ever question in a class setting. (Is that a weapon sir? What no it's a pen a pen!) Plus then if you have to use it to defense yourself you can make the awesome self defense quip "The pen truely is mightier than the sword" after you billy bad ass some thug.

For pepper spray I was told anything by Fox Labs is the shit. The two questions you have to ask is how large of a can are you willing to carry? And do you want stream or mist? Stream goes further and fairs better in wind but mist covers a larger area so it might be easier to hit the target under stress.

u/MC16 · 1 pointr/windowsphone

I have this one. Works okay, and I thought it would be cool to have it on my wrist to easily change music and text, but I have large forearms (13") and it's a really tight fit. After working out for a bit, the sweat soaks through the neoprene and fogs the inside. Huge pain to get my 920 out since it sticks to the plastic.

You'll probably have better luck with armbands that have a velcro strap, or maybe even an elastic band

u/realslacker · 1 pointr/Fitness

I just got the Adidas Team Speed Duffel, before that I was using a duffel designed for my motorcycle hard bags. I chose this one because of the separate shoe compartment and outside side pocket that runs the length.

I carry lifting shoes, towel, gym clothes, toiletries, 8x 1/2lb plates, a tennis ball, and headphones.

u/FalloutRip · 1 pointr/frugalmalefashion

Was about to say just this. $100 is about the bare minimum, sale or otherwise, that you'll want to spend if you want something that will last more than a month or so.

As for that style specifically, Amazon has Timberland Earthkeepers on sale for about $104 right now here http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000YDE46Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?qid=1382277561&sr=1-5&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70

Might be able to stack the sale if you sign up for the amazon shoe email list and use the 20% off code they give you.

u/_hardliner_ · 1 pointr/pics

Regarding tying your shoes. If it is something you'd like to continue to do, awesome, but if not, I'd like to recommend something I use now that's made my life easier.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0186Z5QAO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Those are No Tie Shoelaces. If you want or have a friend to help you out, I think it'll make a huge difference for you. May have to work on the proper size of the shoelaces for which ever foot/shoe but I slip my shoes on in 2 seconds and they are comfortably snug to my feet so they never feel like they are going to come off.

Regarding the Amazon post, looks like they either updated it or I recalled incorrectly. It says its a stainless bearing now.

I think copper with a ceramic bearing is what's in use on the spinner with the highest spin time (the Rotablade Stubby), but the brass doesn't affect the smoothness of the bearing, just the weight. I believe the ceramic bearing is the smoothest, but I could be wrong about that. As far as what's most 'popular', it depends on how you measure that. It's probably not the most widely distributed, but is perhaps the 'preferable choice.'

These basketball pads work well, good knee padding protection and act as a compression sleeve. They also have thin softball pads but they only cover the knee, not the whole leg.

If you're looking for a torqbar clone usually it's the least expensive. I know if you go to Amazon, search "fidget spinner," and filter by low price they have it for about $2 (Amazon link). You might be able to still find it on eBay, price may vary.

The terminology I use is 2-arm/bar spinner for the torqbar.

If you plan on collecting for a while, I'd order an assortment. If you get some 55pt, 75pt 100pt, 130pt, and 180pt, that should cover most sizes. If you tell us exactly what the cards are, someone might even be able to tell you what size you need. As for the penny sleeves, the ultra pro 130pt sleeves can fit cards closer to 180pt in my experience.

u/Mor-Rioghan · 0 pointsr/Advice

I'm almost 23 and I never learned to tie my shoes because I was born with an upper limb amputation. Honestly it used to really upset me when I couldn't tie my shoes and others could. Honestly, though? I only have one singular pair of shoes that even HAVE laces, and they zip up the side. As an adult I stopped wearing standard tennis shoes and switched to slip on ones with elastic straps that don't tie but look classy. I started wearing more boots, dress flats, and so on.

That being said, you've got several options.

  1. There are such things as no tie laces. To the untrained eye they look exactly like normal laces and you wouldn't know any different.

    There are these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0186Z5QAO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_glfjDbHS5T5G1

    These: https://storesixty.com/products/easylace-no-tie-elastic-shoelaces

And so many others. There are magnetic options, ones that pull to tighten, etc. Back when I was a kid they were uncommon so I didn't use them but these days they are super popular, heavily marketed, and extremely common in athletic markets.

  2. You can get sneakers like mine that look like they are laced but are actually elastic.

    Like this: https://m.shoes.com/skechers-dynamight-break-through-bungee-lace-sneaker/829911/1816605

    And this: https://m.shoes.com/florsheim-edge-3-eye-oxford/844999/1865161

There are tons of styles and choices.

  3. You can look into resources aimed at adults to teach you. One thing to understand is that you are not alone in this dilemma. MANY people actually have this problem, in fact some things like Dyslexia can actually cause difficulty in learning to tie shoes. You can find sources online that are much more adult friendly and not childish and patronizing by searching for sources geared toward stroke victims, surgery rehab, dyslexia, etc. Don't get stuck on just one method of tying them. The bunny method works for some and not others and the same goes for other methods. Just find what works for you.
