Yeah, I've got an iMouto 30000mHa powerbankwhich cuts power to the ports whenever it charges.

My Anker PowerCore has treated me well even a year after the fact. Sometimes I go 2-3 days without charging my phone on the home charger. Couldn't imagine life without it.

u/trevorsd8004 · 8 pointsr/Ultralight

Can anyone give insight into the smallest capacity battery pack with QC 3.0 input? Not concerned about output (I have an iPhone X). The one I'm leaning towards is this RAVPower 10000. I was surprised to find that none of the Anker products support QC 3.0 input. I've used their products for years, but with an upcoming thru I've decided QC input is necessary. Thanks!

Here are the accessories I got to go with my SL3, they all have worked well for me:

  • Anker 7 port USB-C dock
    • 2xUSB-A (3.0), Ethernet, usb-c power, SD, microSD, HDMI (1440p@60hz)
      > Dock draws 12W of power, so I recommend using this as a home dock that is plugged in all of the time
  • Anker 5 port USB-C adapter
    • 2xUSB-A (3.0), SD, microSD, HDMI (1440p@60hz)
      > This dock has no power draw overhead, so I use it for travel. It also doesn't have power pass through or ethernet
  • 6 foot usb-c to usb-c power cable
    > Slow data speed - is only meant as a charging cable
  • 61W GaN power adapter
    • Takes advantage of gallium nitride so it is small compared to normal charger
    • Being 61W it takes advantage of the quick-charge that the SL3 battery is capable of
      > It is still a little bit slower to charge than the OEM 65W charger
  • 20Ah 45W power bank
    • Gets me about a full charge
    • Charges at 25W
    • Outputs 45W so it charges relatively quickly, albeit not quick-charge speeds

I had the same problem, picked up one of these and use it for travel now..

Something like that one. But if you have a phone capable of using the Qualcomm quick charge. I would spend the extra money on it. If not then this should be fine. We bought a refurbished iPad mini and put the camera app in Guided Access mode (so no one could do anything aside from press "record" and "stop"), on a tripod, with an external battery pack hooked up to make sure it didn't die. Set it up at around 6' high tilting slightly down and let people record a message for us! The original plan was to return the iPad once the wedding was over but I'm a sucker for gadgets and ended up keeping it for myself.

We didn't get quite as many videos as we'd hoped for (the staff moved it to an odd place between ceremony and reception and it got overlooked for the bar close by), but the ones we did receive were both really nice and pretty funny.

u/julianpoy · 5 pointsr/thinkpad

Absolutely worth any hit to battery life, albeit small.

The maximum I can get is 11 hours running 1 chrome tab at medium brightness. When pushing the computer, I average around 9 hours while developing.

I've also picked up one of these:

Which really gives me flexibility while on the go. Alternatively, Anker sells a competing unit (although it provides only 30w charging):

There are so many posts about this, I don't know which exact one you're referring to.

I use this one: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B079RC1MNV

It's not super heavy like a brick, but it's a noticable improvement in the balance of the headset. I picked that specific one because it charges from USB-C and so it can share the Quest's charger.

Used this cable to go from the battery to the Quest, since it's short, and the right angle means it doesn't stick out away from your head: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MZ8RA3A

They sell rechargeable units. My mom keeps one in her purse and my step dad keeps one in his truck. No need to make them disposable.

u/WhatImKnownAs · 4 pointsr/shittykickstarters

And that AC output makes them expensive. The cheapest I could find quickly is NexGagdet power bank at $130, with fewer output options.

Edit: typo.

Oh weird. The car doesn't put out a lot of power so it could be that or a bad cable.

I have a high output battery/hub in between the car and phones to give me much more power than the car provides. Battery constantly charges when the car is on and when a phone gets connected, the battery rapid charges the connected phone/devices. It also provides enough power to support rapid wireless charging as well. I was having slow charging issues before when directly connected to the car with similar behavior prior to going this route.

It also served the purpose of giving me 3 more USB ports as it has a built-in hub.

If you're curious: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075Q5VLGK/

I did change the cable that connects to the car to a higher grade cable as I have my dashcam drive plugged into it and it was unstable (crashing all the time) til I used a better data/charging cable between the battery and car.

Find a monitor with an external brick. Most that do are 12v or 19v and the pie is 5v. Then use this to power it all.

No idea if that is a good battery it was just the first hit I saw with a quick search.

I bought the Anker 21W Solar Charger and I have a 26000mAh EasyAcc battery. On a full sunny day I can charge the battery about 75%.

That being said, you are probably going to be just fine bringing a fully charged battery.

u/bal00 · 3 pointsr/AskElectronics

That's not a problem. It looks like you're under 50W total. Is there a display that's not listed?

If you want the option of both battery power and a single wall power supply, I think I would go with two buck converters.

Buck converters can step down a voltage to a lower voltage very efficiently, and they trade the excess voltage for more current.

To power everything you would need 3A at 12V and 3.7A at 5V, and that's probably an overestimate, because the wall adapters tend to be rated for the worst case scenario plus a bit of margin on top. If a device typically draws say 0.4A with peaks of up to 0.6A, a manufacturer would normally throw in a 1A power supply.

Basically, you would take two of these, set one to an output voltage of 12V and the other one to 5V. The input voltage needs to be at least a couple of volts higher than the desired output voltage, and in can be as high as 38V.

That means your whole setup can now accept anything between 14V and 38V, and the buck converters will put out a regulated 12V/5V for your devices. That's desirable because you can now use a random laptop PSU to power the whole thing, as long as it puts out at least 65W or so, which most do.

It also means that you can use external batteries designed for laptops instead of a wall adapter. Something like this for example should run it for several hours.

I've been looking for something similar (<400g, 30+ W PD, pass-through charging).

Haven't come across anything quite perfect, but so far I've found (in increasing price order):

u/ffeverdream · 3 pointsr/Ultralight

I was looking into this today. Both aukey and anker seem to be making fairly compact dual port quick charge adapters.

Also found a 10,000mAh battery from ravpower that has quick charge input. Anyone using these adapters or battery?

u/nolan_is_tall · 3 pointsr/vagabond

Get an external battery charger. I use this along with a quick charge output wall plug. It charges completely in about 3 hours and you can usually charge your phone about 3-4 times with it in one charge.

u/Lorben · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

How much do you want to spend on a battery and how long do you need it to last?

I have a Ravpower 10000 PD battery and I'm pretty happy with it. A 10000mAh battery will give you an additional 5 hours of playtime on an original Switch.

The largest battery you would be allowed to take on a plane is a 26800mAh battery. That will give you an additional 12 hours of playtime.

Technically TSA requires the battery to be under 100 watt hours, not under 26800mAh. Usually it's going to be 26800mAh. One of the nice thing about RAVpower is that they label their power banks with their watt hours which makes it much easier to get through security. If they question the battery you can just point at the watt hours. The 26800mAh battery is labeled as 26800mAh/99.16Wh.

Aukey and Anker also make good batteries. Anker is considered the top tier.

Couple other things to note

  • You are only allowed one battery bank, and that battery has to be stored in your carry on baggage. So it's just the one battery bank for the whole trip.

  • Whatever battery you get it either needs to charge at 5v3a or have USB C power delivery at 5v3a\9v2a or above. Anything slower than 5v3a and the Switch will use power faster than the battery is providing it. It'll still extend your playtime because it's replacing used power, but you won't maintain or gain charge.

  • USB cables should be USB-IF certified. If using a USB A (rectangle end) to USB C (oval end) it should have a 56k ohm resister in it. The cable that comes with the Pro Controller fits this, and so do Amazon Basics cables.
u/shlokrshah · 3 pointsr/buildapcsales

I've been using this one for a while. I bought it for $27 and it's only about $20 right now so solid sale.

u/iPwnJ00 · 3 pointsr/macbookpro

USB to USB-C? That's most likely for phones; it won't charge because it won't be able to get enough power from the power bank.

You'll need something that has at least a USB-C to USB-C output with Power Delivery (PD) to be able to start charging. Something that outputs at least 45W should start you off, like this.

I have a MBP 15" 2017, I use my ZMI power bank to charge on the plane but because it only outputs at 45W, it's very slow to charge.

The intersection of small screens (14" or less), good battery life and good gaming potential isn't a very large one.

The current Razer Blade is one of the go-to choices in this range, but it's out of your budget and doesn't have a very good battery life (4 or 5 hours at most, from what I recall). The Gigabyte P34Gv2 is in your price range, but has a similarly bland battery life (6 hours idle, maybe 4 with light usage). The Clevo W230SS (sold under a few different names, including as the Sager NP7338) is much cheaper and quite powerful for a 13" laptop, but has a similar battery life. The Lenovo Y40 has a pretty good battery life (maybe 6-7 hours), but is a fair bit less powerful so probably wouldn't fit your usage very well.

Would you be willing to consider carrying around an external battery pack, something like this or this? The battery in the P34Gv2 is around 60Wh, and the one in the W230SS is around 50Wh; adding an external 150Wh battery to that would give you a pretty large improvement, though it could be a bit of a hassle to carry around an external battery.

u/Karness_Muur · 2 pointsr/ElectricalEngineering

This could do the trick I think. Other than the fact it's expensive. Also, I still don't know how I'd get it to power both items.

Hello,

I own the following power banks:

https://www.amazon.de/Poweradd-Slim-Externer-Ladegerät-Smartphones/dp/B00MWU1GGI/

https://www.banggood.com/Original-XIAOMI-5_1V-2_1A-10000mAh-Power-Bank-For-Smartphone-p-977406.html

Can I use these power banks to charge my Nintendo Switch?

What kind of cable do I need for this purpose? Just a plain USB Type C to USB 3.0 cable would be okay?

Thanks in advance.

I used my phone before I got my bike computer.

I used one of these ( specifically this one, I'm sure you can find similar on amazon/etc wherever you live ):

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B017KK1ASS/

The screen compartment is separate from the storage compartment below with a small gap for a cable - so perfect for what I wanted.

I was powering it with a generic power bank I got from amazon:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00MWU1GGI/

and also a 90 degree usb cable, because a standard straight one didn't fit in the phone mount.

I ended up buying two cables because I didn't check which side mine should be on:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0140K6MJI/
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003YKX6WC/

Worked pretty good.
Downside was because it's a big bag and I'm tall, if I was climbing then my knees were hitting the side of the bag a bit.

Also handy to store spare tubes/etc in the storage compartment of the bag.

Also don't bother with a speed sensor, the GPS speed from strava is fine. Get a cadence sensor and a heart rate monitor instead.

u/jr98664 · 2 pointsr/iphone

I just keep one in my pocket or on my bike at all times. This is the one I use, and like I said, I don't leave home without it. With my 6s, I reliably get a few days worth of charge. As much as I use my phone, it's worth its weight in gold. It's also very similar in size to the 6/6s, which makes it very easy to carry.

After my old laptop got stolen, I ended up getting a Lenovo Y410p, which is pretty amazing. I took out the disc drive and slapped in an extra SSD just for gaming. I can play most games on ultra, which is something I could only dream of before.

Phone: HTC One M7 - I've had it for close to 2 years now and it's held up very nicely compared to my last one, which was an HTC EVO 3D that kept crapping out on me. I haven't had to do any manufacturers resets so far, which is always a plus. Battery life is pretty decent, but it's built in so you can't switch it out, so that sucks if you don't have access to a plug, but you can get around that by getting a portable charger. Amazon has a pretty big selection. I ended up getting this one very recently. It came in handy while I had to sit through an 8 hour class the other day. People were fighting over the few wall outlets that were available. Hehehe

u/igeek5 · 2 pointsr/bonnaroo

This is my first roo but I've spent a lot of time thinking about this. I tend to need my phone a lot for work so battery consumption is a familiar topic for me.

Best advice I can give is to have two battery packs. One in the form of a phone case and one in the form of a portable charger.

I recommend lux mobile cases if you're and iPhone user. Lux Mobile You can save some money with discount code "lux" at checkout. I've had one of them for every iPhone I've owned and it works great.

For your backup external just grab something off of Amazon with a high capacity. I recommend this one .

Make sure you're at 100% on both when you arrive and turn off your car for the weekend. You should be all set from there. If you chew through battery though you can always turn your engine on for a bit to restore both packs and youre good to go. :)

Hope this helps!!

u/strifezero · 2 pointsr/pokemongo

To put it simply mAh is the capacity of the battery and the A is the charging speed.

e.g. If you had Powerbank A with 2500 mAh and 2.4A and Powerbank B with 5000mAh and 2.1A

Powerbank B can hold more charge than Powerbank A but A will charge your devices faster than B. I personally have this one:

It's subjective obviously, but I consider that very reasonable.

u/NxMx · 2 pointsr/vandwellers

I haven't used that particular unit, but I've been using the Crave battery pack for nearly 2 months now. It's about double the MAH at around the same price. I'm able to work all day in the van without having to run the engine. It keeps my laptop, hotspot, phone, and usb fan running during the work day. You will probably need somewhere to plug it in at night though if you depend on it like I do.

Coming from personal experience, yes it works, although maybe not the one you linked.

This one charges my stary board just as fast as a wall outlet: link

I think the stary is 4400mah or so, and this claims to be 24000mah, but in reality it almost completely drains the portable battery to fully charge the stary, with almost nothing left over.

I use it when I don't have an outlet, like you are saying. Normally when on the train or when I'm walking around. I love it. I got it for much cheaper than the amazon price tho.

I wanted MOAR POWAHH so I set mine up with a hefty power bank and I've been using this for about a month or so.

Cable, 26800 mAh Power Bank, and velcro straps for fastening the power bank.

It works well as a counterbalance, although it is a bit heavy on the backend. While it's noticeable I've become mostly used to it. The only thing I don't like is that the flat backing of the power bank sometimes rests uncomfortable on the back of my head. I just need to throw some sponges back there to give it a little space. The nice part is I only need to charge my Quest every few days if at all; if the power bank dies I'll just recharge it overnight and it'll power the Quest without any issues for a minimum 8+ hours of playtime.

That's a pretty sweet looking laptop. It appears the 4k screen uses a bit more battery than the standard HD. Other than that, there are just the regular suggestions of using "Power Saver" mode in windows, turning down the brightness, etc.

I do think the battery bank method is the way to go. Since you laptop uses USB-C, this battery bank is probably a good solution, and it's only $50.

Make sure to get a battery bank that doesn't just have USB-C output, but also has USB-C PD (Power Delivery). That's the standard that supports high wattage output, which laptops tend to like.

This should give you 6~10 hours extra running time . https://www.amazon.com/BiXPower-Watt-hour-Capacity-External-Rechargeable/dp/B0087HW5YM . Of course this is the last resort , if you can somehow make your current laptop run better , that's also good

u/nicknack200 · 1 pointr/DIY_tech

Possible, yes. Practical, very unlikely.

Wireless HDMI modules are available (there was even an old GPU that had wireless transmission), however from what I can tell they're quite expensive and all have some problems with connectivity.

5GHz modules often have problems with interference and 60GHz modules often have problems with range.

Battery will also be a problem. A 200$ battery capable of both 12V and 19V with 44000 mAh could supply a 24 inch monitor for approximately 2 hours.

I don't know about the touch thing, I don't have a touch monitor myself. If it's connected over HDMI it should be no problem, if it's a seperate USB connection, you have to get that wireless seperately somehow.

Converting an electrical signal into a wireless signal in a DIY fashion is pretty much unfeasible from what I can tell.

So in conclusion, making your screen wireless is not only going to be very expensive, but will probably still come with a lot of compromises.

There is no way to get this to work. The output/voltage of the Powerbank is far too low.

In ye olde server world, a UPS would be recommended. But for a rPi, powered by USB, I wonder if a USB battery pack could do the trick for under $15? Just wanted to share my strategy which, for me, is a good combo of reliability and light weight: I'm using an Anker 15w solar panel in combo with a Power Add 5000

I've tested the duo together, the power bank and the solar panel together work great, the panel isn't too heavy (12.5 oz) and fills my Power Add in the course of a day. The Power Add 5000 is just the right amount for my purposes, (~2 phone charges) and as a safety back-up in case there's no sun, also it is pretty light and compact (~4 oz).

I also have a kindle. Kindles do not require much, depending on which one you have, one full charge can last you a month.

it should come with a cable, so you'll be able to recharge it easy enough when you're in the hotel. really though, it should just be a standard usb cable, so if you're worried, you can bring some of those and it's probably going to work.

if you are worried about the mifi dying while you are out, you can always pick up something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MWU1GGI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

so that way you can just plug into that if the battery gets low. just be aware that from my experience with mifi's such as the ones that those rental services are going to be using, they don't like charging and being used at the same time. (this is coming from experience with verizon devices back before mobile hotspot on cellphones was a thing, and they were trying to push everyone to use a mifi).

>Also, what is the cheapest alternative to charging a 75 mbps pocket wifi?

bringing an unlocked phone and getting a pre-paid data sim. i used the one from b-mobile last year, and it supported the mobile hotspot feature on my phone so it did the same exact thing as a pocket wifi. (just be aware that the data sims require a little bit of technical know how to get the APN profile loaded. nothing complicated, but not "push power and the wifi password is on a sticker on the device").

What you need is a generator my friend.

Jk, but you can get power banks that are designed to charge laptops. No need to reinvent the wheel here. They can also be used to charge phones. They're quite a bit bigger than your standard phone power bank, and more expensive, and you can't bring it on flights. But it sounds like what you're looking for.

Hey there, still looking, but so far I'm thinking either:

8 Core AMD Ryzen 2700. I would dump the memory and buy 64GB or RAM (ECC if I can, I believe it supports it) and then add 2x 2TB NVMe. https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-PH517-61-R0GX-Processor-Graphics/dp/B07GWX5X26/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1543461138&sr=1-2&keywords=helios+500

Or perhaps this:

Sager NP9175 with the i9 9700k 8 core CPU. I'd put 64GB RAM in it. https://www.sagernotebook.com/Notebook-NP9175.html

The Sager one will likely cost $1000+ more than the other one. I rather have 144hz screen than have 4K 60fps, so either laptop will work. The Sager one can do a GTX 1080, though a 1070 is more than enough for me.

The BIG pro behind the Sager is it can do 2x 2.5" drives AND 2x M.2 NVME drives. That's 4 hard drives. For me, that's a big deal.

The only other thing that matters is the power requirements. I'd rather have something that is 19V/20V if possible. The reason is I can easily build my own battery brick that outputs 19V, giving me a lot of portable time. For example, I can wire 2 of these in parallel to get likely 10+ hours of usage, even on these beasty laptops: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BLXY3B6/ref=psdc_7073960011_t2_B01GS744P0 I've done it before and had great success.

One option would be: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01BLXY3B6

Also try to find one with a high mAh / W rating to ensure that it can provide enough juice for more than a few minutes.

Other commenters say Anker, I agree. Though I would go with a smaller pack since it would be much lighter to carry. 10,400 mAh for $32 Has 2 USB ports. Just need to charge it overnight.

This one is similar to the other comment but just no USB C charging. Charges just as fast at 5V 3A. Little smaller, lighter, and cheaper

Assuming you’re using something like an iPhone XS Max (~3000 mAh battery) and a Samsung s10 plus (~4000 mAh battery), both battery packs would be fine.

Buy this one, which supports wireless fast charging, and is super convenient -- you'll never want to plug in a micro USB after this. You can also use the charger for it with a regular USB cable if needed and it will do fast charge with that too.

For my car I use this, which is also fast charge and is super-tiny, and it lets you charge a friend's phone too.

EDIT: Bonus items -- I travel a lot and for that I love using one similar to this little charger, which I always keep ready in my bag and can charge my whole family's devices with almost no space - even the AC prongs fold in.

And once you get really hooked on fast charging, you'll want a power bank (portable charger) that supports that too. I use this one which is pretty nice, but there are tons now in all shapes and sizes.

u/CBattles6 · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

PSA: The Switch's battery is 4,310 mAh, so unless you're going to need more than 4 re-charges at a time, you can save money by getting a smaller charger.

I have an older version of the Anker Powercore+ 10050, and it's a phenomenal charger. It's currently $20 cheaper than the 20100, and should get you at least 2 recharges of the Switch. It's USB to Micro USB, which means you can use it with your phone as well, and you can grab these Micro USB to USB C adapters (approved by Benson) for an extra $7 to recharge the Switch.

u/scalablecory · 1 pointr/lgv30

I use this guy, it holds around 2 full charges for the V30 and charges super quick with QC 3.0: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K6T7AFM/

The difference between this one and the one you posted, is that this one outputs a little less power (18W vs 24W), but can be charged itself with QC 3.0 -- the difference between a couple hours to charge VS a whole night. It is small enough to fit in a pocket, but is on the heavy side. I keep it in my laptop bag.

I'd look for something around ~5000mAh if you want truly comfortable to carry. I don't know of any reputable brands making a QC 3.0 / PD 2.0 device in this size though.

u/cyllibi · 1 pointr/vive_vr

I just ordered this Anker PowerCore+ 10050 mAh power bank and had it arrive yesterday. I picked this one because the size is close enough to match the original HTC battery. This means I can slide it into the 3D printed battery holder I've got attached to my headset and just hot swap the two whenever one runs out of juice. My plan is to use the Anker first, swap the HTC battery in when it dies, and get some charge on the Anker since it's QC 3.0 in as well as out. I don't see my sessions ever lasting through 3 consecutive power banks. I'll try to get some time on the new power bank soon, hopefully tonight, to let you know how it goes.

I really learned a lot about setting up my wireless adapter from u/JasonGGorman in this thread about getting it to work through an m.2 slot and this other thread where he listed all the ways he customized his device including that really cool 3D printed battery holder I mentioned.

this seems like a lot of time and money to put into power storage and not power generation. for $40-50 you can buy a battery pack that will recharge you phones 5-6 times. or even a solar panel battery pack which can be recharged.

if you only are planning for 5 days without power (not enough IMO look at PR) you could spend that $260 on rechargeable batteries AA,AAA, D cells and 18650. you can buy cheap flashlights, and battery powered fans too. this would be more reliable as you are putting all your eggs in one basket with this one battery idea.

Amazon sells a bunch of rando small battery banks, but I'm afraid I don't have experience with them to be sure of their quality. The smallest kind that are reliably found by reliable makers tend to be ~2500-3000mAh and are around the size of that anker powercore mini, and the reason for that is they just shove an 18650 cell in there for cost effectiveness.

However, for the T490, in benefit of having USB-C charging port, you could utilize an external battery pack to charge up the laptop on the go.

There are an assortment of battery packs out there with high capacity and high output to be able to charge the T490 multiple times over. As well as if needed, can charge during use. While the battery packs may not be able to create net-positive charging, it will extend the laptop usage time at least twice over. Especially if you arent utilizing the dedicated graphics.

Here is a couple battery banks you could look at:

After some searching, I found this one that appears to have the right specs. And some of the reviews claim it works on an X1C5.

u/AJDon82 · 1 pointr/anker

Yep, that seems the only drawback to Anker, nothing at 45W.

You can see reviews for the Jackery Titan X here;

Here you go. Not usually a fan of battery banks but I really can't recommend this one enough after trying it. The 45W adapter in the photo comes with it. Two for one!

ZMi QB820 is 20,000mAh and I like mine.

Want more capacity? RAVPower 26800 USB-C Dual Input will recharge the Switch 1-2 more times, but is a slower charge (still fast enough to charge while you play).

USB C Portable Charger RAVPower... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07793KSV4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

This is what I use, I can recharge my pixel XL a solid 8 times on a single charge. It's great

u/xanderxiv · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I really like this brand in general Ive had 3 chargers from them now and they're all great. Even comes with a little protective pouch. I just got this one recently for my pixel 2. Has quick charge 3.0 and charges nice and quick. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077CZ8412/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_bnGyDb2109SDC

The aukey one I bought a few years ago seems to have been discontinued. I did find this ravpower unit (ravpower makes phenomenal batteries and cables). It’s 10,000 mah with Quick charge 3.0 input and output for $29.99. There’s also currently a 10% off coupon you can apply at checkout. https://www.amazon.com/RAVPower-10000mAh-Ultra-Slim-High-Density-Li-Polymer/dp/B077CZ8412/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1527281054&sr=8-4-fkmr1&keywords=Aukey+10%2C000+mah+quick+charge

I purchased this one for $27 about two weeks ago and can confirm it works fine with the vive wireless adapter:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077CZ8412

It's slimmer, about the size/shape of a smart phone so it slips easily in your front or back pocket, and it's got approximately the same battery life as the original one.

u/Tarquinn2049 · 1 pointr/OculusQuest

I went with the anker slim 10000, for a very specific reason, it's the size of a phone. So I also bought a phone belt clip holster. Clips right on the back strap, for easy on and off, no setup or crafting needed, hehe.

Then just a 1 foot usb-c cable and any angle adaptors you would want. The only downside is the anker slim doesn't output through it's usb-c port, that's only for input. There are lesser quality brands that do have that option in a slim battery if you would rather stick with usb-c the whole way. So since I really wanted to stick with the anker, And I couldn't find a decent 1 foot USB A to USB-c cord, I ended up also having to get an adaptor for that, hehe.

So my total parts list ended up being:

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B079RC1MNV couldn't find that one on the US amazon. Might just mean there wasn't any that would ship to Canada or something.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N2PZ4ZP battery fits perfectly in there

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078YRKTKM These are the angles I went with, the flat 90 for the battery side and the sideways 90 for the headset side, pointing down

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072M7GH29 The cables specs are way more than needed, but for that price it's not like we're splurging

https://www.amazon.com/Elebase-Upgraded-Connector-Chargers-Interface/dp/B07LF72431 These aren't the exact ones I went with, but only cuz they didn't exist when I was looking. I would have bought these if they did.

I use this one and it is fantastic. Charges much faster than the basic wall charger that comes with it even

I've always had good luck with Anker's power banks, and it looks like they've stepped them up recently too: Amazon link

u/bellsy · 1 pointr/OculusQuest

Coincidentally, someone just commented on the Thingiverse page that it is already a perfect fit for an Anker battery (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079RC1MNV/). Haven’t tested that myself, but it looks pretty likely.

u/fieldsofgreen · 1 pointr/oneplus

I'm also wondering about this. Will high wattage/power delivery devices charge my OP6 faster than just a regular old power bank or regular wall charger?

Im considering this power bank: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07N3RGNY6/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_1?smid=A32BDIEK75ANF5&psc=1#aw-udpv3-customer-reviews_feature_div

  1. I purchased this one. You may want to go a bit smaller, it is pretty large, but works well.
  2. I only purchase well known brands, but the important thing is that they are rated at 3A.
  3. Actual USB-A ports on computers are rarely more than 1.4A, but battery packs, being specifically for charging are not hard to find with 3A USB-A ports.

bought this one for my kid recently and she loves it

anything with 18w PD and you are good for fast charge.

I’ve been using this RAVPower to charge my Surface Pro 6 and Surface Pro X.

I just pulled the trigger on this powerbank . Will try to remember to keep you posted since it was so painful finding the right information on portable chargers

u/micktorious · 0 pointsr/gadgets

I'm not going to keep defending the power bank, it's maybe an inch longer and half inch wider than my bi-fold wallet. This isn't an exact science, just trying to make a point of reference.

Here's one that is 6" x 3" now get off my back about it

The new one from Samsung that supports both Wired and Wireless Fast charge and its 10000 MaH. The power bank also supports fast charge itself (it recharges pretty fast)

I have it and works wonders for my S10+... A little expensive though, but having these features in one is worth it for me

What phone do you have now? If it uses a micro USB port, you can buy a USB-C female to micro USB male adapter on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/female-Adapter-ARKTEK-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B072J5B3BR

Then you could just use the S8 charger for both phones.
