Cheapest criminals ever
Since I've had quite a few years experience with cable management and various forms of "control" - I've opted against these. Sure, they're convenient, reusable, etc. But I've found that they shed with each use. I use resealable ties now.
Let me introduce you to Thomas & Betts zip ties. In normal zipties, the first thing that breaks is the plastic tongue. Instead of a plastic tongue these use a metal one.
Tools used:
- Cable Clips (100 pack) - $12.49 on Amazon
- Command Hook (3 pack) - $6.29 on Amazon
- Oculus Rift Sensor Wall Mount (2 pack) - $12.99 on Amazon
can always use reusable zip ties

Bongo Ties used for holding things down.
So for wall mounted TVs I recommend a cable raceway (similar to this) to disguise the cable on the wall. You can adhere to the wall with command strips or other double-stick.
You can also use this for the lamp cord. I recommend moving the lamp closer to the wall. If there is excess cord, you can often feed it back into the lamp base. If your lamp base doesn't have a bottom, you can neatly (and gently) coil (DO NOT CREASE) the excess cord and secure with cable ties (I like this stuff because it only takes a little, and it's repositionable, unlike zip-ties).
As far as the power brick and excess cord to the wall...I would recommend placing an entertainment center (games????) OR some kind of decorative something that sparks JOY! Maybe something that can function as storage for something you need in the room, but don't want laying about (remote controls, etc).
Pro-tip: it may be tempting to pull cords SUPER tight, but keep a little slack to ensure the cable isn't being bent at the connectors.
Good luck, and please share your end solution with us!
Something like this.
You gotta clean those wires up broseph
Get a bunch of stick on wire clips and run your speaker wires up the back side of your wood shelf
Thats way too nice a setup to have exposed wires
If you want to do it yourself, you'll need a cable explorer. You'll attach the lights to your internal coaxial outlets, and then go back outside to hook up to each wire, and see which color lights up. Be sure to write down where you put which color so you can label the appropriate wires to where they go. You can use zip tie labels for this.
Now, you know where everything goes, so you'll be able to either hook up every lead to a different source, and troubleshoot your connection if you need to. If you want to run an aerial system, you're going to need a distribution amplifier to overcome the loss of having 8 splits. Every coax port in the house will work with either cable, or OTA, or satellite service.
If subscribing to cable television, have the technician do the connection of the cable feed to the system, You are free to mess with the wiring of your house all you wish, but are not authorized to alter or tamper with cable company owned lines or equipment. Have the technician do that.
Repost, imgur ate the first image album.
I just finished a second crash cart for my SO, and this time I kept track of the parts I used during assembly. So as a gift to the VR subreddits I tend to follow here's some assembly photos and a full parts list should you want to build your own.

This one on Amazon has the screw holes positioned differently but it's basically the same thing.
Nice deployment! If you aren't already, we strongly recommend using proper safety gear for operations like this. Standard issue safety harnesses can be acquired from numerous sources, I've had success with these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01018DC96/
Over!
Here
Get some Velcro Wire Wraps and go to town on them.
Do yourself and future work a favor dump the Zip Ties, Use Velcro this way if you need to you can undo the strap read the numbers on your wires, without leaving a zip tie mess on the floor. also you can just screw thru the velcro to mount it.
So how you liking the Lifesafety Power supply? We are currently testing one in a new building so far no issues
I'm not Op but I got you homey.
I see a few different products being used, especially on the underside of the desk. My links may not be the exact same products but they're functionally the same

Here's tons of options: 3m cable clips
My personal favorite.
If you really need it to look good.
These are the ones you want: https://www.amazon.ca/Thomas-Betts-TY525MX-CABLE-50LB/dp/B001DEHZ14
I usually buy them from Westburne, my local electrical wholesaler.
They're literally an order of magnitude stronger, more temperature stable, and more UV stable than the Home Depot cheapos. I've seen these things still rock solid, after supporting lengths of pipe, in direct sunlight after 20+ years (!).
And they save so much time and headache, rather than hog rings.
Make sure you have a good pair of flush cutters. If you cut their tails off with regular side cutters, the remaining stub is incredibly sharp.
Why not run the drain line to the toilet like its made to do?
if you insist then I'd set it up like a dishwasher you'll need to plumb in a wye slip connect. Cut off the drain pipe below the stopper then put the slip in. From the cat genie to the sink drain you either need to raise it above the sink level or put a check valve in
Chrome slip Wye:
https://www.plumbingsupply.com/images/dishwasher-tailpiece-slipjoint-wye-chrome-lg.jpg
I'm not sure on the catgenie drain hose size but you can use a fernco fitting to change the size around.
2/3 the way down - Wye Dishwasher Tailpieces
https://www.plumbingsupply.com/tubularparts_chrome_polished_brass.html
Ferncos:
https://www.plumbingsupply.com/flexibleconnectors.html
check valves

http://www.amazon.com/Thread-Solid-Brass-Check-Valve/dp/B00G9SYYG8
Yea those are ugly and big. I'd just use some stick on zip tie squares to get the cat genie hose up around the sink bowl on the back side, then take it down to the cat genie.
http://www.amazon.com/Adhesive-Cable-Holder-Black-Pack/dp/B003ZB2A0E/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1451088887&sr=8-3&keywords=zip+tie+sticky+pad
I would consider pvc tubes or some other plastic tubes instead of wood. I think it will be easier to attach and will survive better in the water. I might try zip tying the tubes or dowels to your masonry nails. That way you can put the nails further into the wall. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XUYJZBI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_3tgnzbGR27M18
i carry the following when i am riding around out of town. basically, if it would take more than an hour or so for my wife to come grab me, I carry my tools. i also carry my kit if im out with my brothers (but then i carry it more because it is my responsibility).
Tool Roll
Tire Pressure Gauge
Tire Kit
First Aid Kit
Zip Ties
Jump start kit
all of this crap gets bundled into an old Tank Bag and strapped to my sissy bar.
thanks for the info. I find myself waffling between velcro and double sided adhesives too.
you're right, adhesive velcro would have been best in our scenario.
Does anyone make velcro tie wrap adhesive mounts?
Like this but designed for velcro tie wraps: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JMSWNC8
These are the main upgrades that I'll be buying for the new server. I should be able to reuse the fan, case and other parts.

I'm going to try to get the processor from here http://siliconlottery.com/ and the motherboard from either Newegg or Amazon.
That Silicon Lottery place tests the chips to see how much they could be overclocked and then sell you those in categories. It's about the same price or maybe even cheaper, so it would work great in this case.
This is the USB repeater that I have setup for the web cams. It almost didn't work because both the repeaters and cameras are USB powered, so they draw almost all the juice that USB allows. I start the cameras one at a time so the power draw from the motherboard isn't overwhelming. Even doing that, we blew out the on-board USB ports and needed new ones using a PCI slot. Also, sometimes the cameras don't turn on and we need to restart the machine. I think that's related to the power draw.
Here's that crazy large fan from the case. for the current Intel Core i7-3930K Hexa-Core Processor 3.2 Ghz. This is a 6 core processor. The new processor has 8 cores and I should be able to overclock it a bit more.
Of course, I can't forget to link the colored zip ties and the colored stickers to match cameras with the cables.
Edit: I also use Samsung SSD drives.
That's exactly what I'm doing, then I'm using sticky cable clips and double-sided tape to stick all the hardware on the back of the bookcase. I can't find a photo of it though, sorry.
Reusable zip ties are your best friend. You can get 100 for $10 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004C4ZRIK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_zhNQBb7030SKP
http://www.amazon.com/Adhesive-Cable-Holder-Black-Pack/dp/B003ZB2A0E
these bad boys. I would take and stick them to the edge of the back of the table and ziptie your cables to it and drop them to each machine. Keeps them off the ground and nicely bundled.
They're a bit pricey but this is what I use https://smile.amazon.com/BongoTies-Original-Bongo-Ties-A5-01/dp/B0030FI3W4?sa-no-redirect=1 They're useful for a lot of other things too. Supposedly cutting up a bicycle innertube is great for making really strong rubber-bands you might look into that, might be a bit small though.
You can use reusable zip ties! I just haven't gotten around to buying any yet but a lot of other dyers like them.
Just get a bunch of cable, 100 feet or so, and run it along the path you want it to be managed to, and then cut it when it gets to the end.
You can use the zip-tie holders with loose zip-ties to hold the cable as you run it before you terminate to give you a real good estimate.
My two favorite cables to use: Mogami 2944 for my permanent mounted stuff, and then Canare L-4E6S for my temporary stuff. The Mogami is nice and thin and very flexible. The Canare is thicker and beefier, but still very flexible, and comes in all sorts of colors for good identification.
Get a nice soldering iron, a Panavise Jr., some solder, and connectors and get to it.
You can also use string as a temporary run from a pedal to your unit and then transfer the length to your cable.
As I'm about to build my PC should I 'invest' in some of these then?

Perfect!!! I decided to use that!
Can you let me know if you see any problems with this list?? Anything I can improve?? Anything I don't need??
Frame, PDB, FC, Motors, ESCs
Extra XT60 Battery Connectors
Props
Standoffs
2mm Gold Bullet Connector
Cable/Zip Ties
DIY FPV Kit
Tx/Rx
Tx/Rx to USB Adapter
Drone Battery 1 (heavy) 2200mAh
Drone Battery 2 (light) 1800mAh
FPV battery 1500mAh
What's the cheapest way to be able to get voltage to show on my FPV setup?
-Would I be able to use this voltage checker/warning buzzer?
What about a cheap lost model buzzer/discovery buzzer?? Can I use a switch on my Tx to make the alarm sound??
Is it overkill to get 3 batteries total?? 2 for the drone (So I can keep flying when one is charging) and 1 for the FPV reciever/display?
Thanks for the help!!

Retractable with great height, even with this low entertainment block. 😼🎶
Should work with either generation PS4 camera; just remove its stand.
I made one of the mount holes large enough (with a small drill bit.. ideally you'd have the proper bit size 🥴) to fit my TV's bolt. If yours is smaller screen size it may have smaller bolts.
The parts:
I prefer this style: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XGV4QXP/
Much better design for any application where you don't want the wires to just slide around. Also it's a 200 piece bag. Can't go wrong with comical excess.
Assuming your cables are long enough to wrap into a couple thicker bundles Id suggest buying some nylon sleeves, and some velcro ties. Then you can get some little stick squares and selectively zip tie them to bottom of table.
Sleeve: https://www.amazon.com/Techflex-PTN0-50BK25-General-Purpose-Braided/dp/B004UHQNUU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1504071017&sr=8-2&keywords=nylon+cable+sleeve
(Can try finding the above in white too for more stealth)
Cable ties:
https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Self-Adhesive-Strap-Extendable/dp/B01L91P670/ref=sr_1_21?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1504071102&sr=1-21&keywords=velcro+ties
(Look for this kind, these are kinda overpriced, but the loop allows you to get it nice and snug)
Zip ties squares: https://www.amazon.com/Adhesive-Backed-100-Pack-Nova-White/dp/B072R6GFKW/ref=sr_1_cc_4?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1504071156&sr=1-4-catcorr&keywords=zip+tie+squares
(Then just some zip ties to use with the above to attach to bottom of desk/wall)
These are similar to options ive been using a combination of for years, and allows you to tuck all the wires away super cleanly so you dont have to look at them or get them caught around your feet.
These are wonderful: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06XGV4QXP/
That's where the art of the zip tie come into play. Tying the cables together into the least amount of bundles will meet you a lot more of a cleaner look then you'd imagine.
If you're really feeling fancy, some of these can help for cleaner pathing, especially for those I/o cables.
Never neglect cable management, you get better airflow plus a beautiful rig you can take pride in!
Ok so it looks like a special case but still see if there's a way to put the PSU upside down.
As for the cables, Zip ties and Velcro are a must have, use the Velcro for practice and the Zip ties for the final touch, group all the cables you're not using(also check for redundant cables, if there's a connection being made with 2 cables that can be 2 with only one then do it), also Zip ties Holder would help too
Well, I don't think there are really that many specialized tools the average user would need. I guess if you want to do some minor modifications or sleeve your psu, you would really benefit from some specialty tools. Generally speaking, I think nearly everyone would benefit from:
total: $15.60
It goes without saying that you should also have a Phillips screwdriver, but who doesn't have one of those around anyway? Of course, there are some extras you might want if you're messing with your psu cables (like if you're sleeving them or whatever), installed and reinstalling coolers, I don't know. It is all stuff I've used with my PC at one time or another.
total: $48.61
I don't know why you'd really want that ultra-mega-deluxe $49 kit I put together, unless you're certain you will be modding your pc. If you want to be all hardcore you could get a soldering iron just for your pc, but I wouldn't recommend doing that unless you already have experience. Seriously though, everyone should get some cable ties and compressed air.
Are you allowed to use these in this application?
Edit: Oops, just saw you already know about them. I think zipties or Panduit are about your only options for stranded wire.
Thanks. Out of all the colors the strip offers, the Red was subtle enough for this.
For cable management I used a combination of things.
The main piece cleaning up the wires was this. It is a J channel cable Raceway.
Then I used a combination of reuseable/one time use zip tips and cable tie mounts. Took some time figuring out where to put everything but it helped out alot. The power cables by my feet are the only cables you really see.
Pretty handy set for a variety of fun fixes.

About $1.28 more but free Prime shipping should more than make up for it.
These for wrapping cables headed into storage:
BongoTies
and these for stands/trusses:
Planet Waves Elastic
Two things I would do.
Get these of Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Teenitor-Self-Adhesive-Adjustable-Organizer-Electrical/dp/B01JOFKPHY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484174661&sr=8-1&keywords=wire+management+wall+clips
Then, sort your power strip plugs.
Align cables that go one way all together and align cables that go another way all together.
Use the wall clips and put all align cables to form a " T " pattern from your power strip cable that's plugged into your outlet.

Edit:
Also clean your floors :D
I've had really good luck with the Ty-Rap brand, it has a metal retainer clip, can't think of any time I've had one pull through. The biggest downside is, they don't make that ziiiiiip sound when you pull them through!
Zip Ties
Mono price resealable zip ties... That is all.
Monoprice Releasable cable tie 6 inch 50LBS, 100pcs/Pack - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004C4ZRIK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_v0cKxbEG08138
Just get yourself some BongoTies. They are reusable and work much better than traditional zipties.

Good luck!
There are 3m cable clips that could hold your cable off the desk attached to a high spot. You could clip to the top back of a monitor or the side of your case. This is the exact one that I have used in the past.
From Amazon. These are not exactly the same, but you'll find them there: https://www.amazon.com/Reusable-Releasable-Adjustable-Self-Locking-Organization/dp/B06XG8G91Y
Here are some tips that might help.
Cable tie anchors might be a good shout. Something like this:
100 Pack Black Zip Tie Adhesive Mounts Self Adhesive Cable Tie Base Holders with Black Multi-Purpose Cable Tie (Length 150 mm, Width 2 cm) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B077TSNMGD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_5wQsDbYJE2HRR
Just bundle up the cables and tie them in. Make sure an anchor is before every branch and you can get some nice right angles in the runs.
I use https://www.amazon.com/VELCRO-Brand-ONE-WRAP-Double-Sided-Multi-Purpose/dp/B000078CUB for cable management and something like https://www.amazon.com/PERFECT-VISION-MOUNTING-SATELLITE-CT7BLK-MH/dp/B00XUYJZBI depending on the location.
I used to zip tie all the things, but hated having to cut a bunch just to add or remove a cable.
I have dashcam, radar, and third party lighting, wiring hidden in my car with these. $11 for a pack of 200
https://www.amazon.com/KEDSUM-200pcs-Adhesive-Organizer-Management/dp/B06XGV4QXP/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1522563684&sr=8-2&keywords=car+wire+clips
I hate stapling wires. I'm always afraid something is going to happen to them. Might try some of these instead.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071WW8P83/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B071WW8P83&pd_rd_wg=WzDRm&pd_rd_r=W6KXDG3HJ0BE34Q1G322&pd_rd_w=ver4K
oh I have some of these style:
https://www.amazon.com/Thomas-Betts-TY525MX-CABLE-50LB/dp/B001DEHZ14
With the metal bit, I can't break the smallest ones by hand!
i used something similar to these to wall mount mine. Weave the ties through the vents then secured it to the wall...
2 dollars for 100
So, is this connection between the router in your home (living room, the "gateway" room) to your room, or from the "community" router somewhere in the other building/level to your home?
If it was the first case, you could just do it yourself. Some nail tack cable clips close to the ceiling would keep the cable out of harms way.
If you don't want nailing stuff to the wall, look for self adhesive ones.
If it's the second case, well......
Extending cable is still preferable.
An extender mounted anywhere not in your home may not be there for long.Misread your post.
You can still do the cabling yourself. Just have a good aim when you're throwing the cable to your window.
Or route the cable and use cable clips if its within the same building.
I used some very long zip ties. They have held on for years without any issues. Check the length you'll need with some string.
Get yourself some of these:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JOFKPHY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_nyTmzbCB1M2Y0
And start routing your cables under your desk or on your wall behind and keep it nicely tucked up and out of view. Make sure the cables don't cross over one another too much in case you ever need to remove or re-route any cables.
Velcro Zip Ties are nice too for grouping cables together.
I had that same Ikea table for a while.
https://imgur.com/9aext1Y (I'll try to dig up a more flattering picture of the table lol)
If you're interested at all in cleaning up those wires
Amazon
(I hope that link works... I wish Amazon would allow for shortlinks.
Anyways just toss 25-30 of those bad boys under the table, make Loops on them with the wire ties and run all your extra cabling through those loops It makes for very clean wiring jobs. People will look at your $70 Ikea table and think you're a dark magician with how you manage to cable a bunch of devices onto a minimal table without exposing a wire mess.
You might look into adhesive plates for the pictured velcro wraps (like these).
Failing that, I'd use one of the following:
an adhesive wrap:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075Y9J42T
Or an adhesive clip:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U32M8CI
Lots of velcro ties. I like these ones because they're super thin flexible and have good hold: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001E1Y5O6/
Stick on cable anchors. If your case doesn't have a place to add a velcro tie somewhere you want to add on, just stick an anchor there: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071WW8P83/ (these are normally cheaper at your local hardware store, normally right beside the zip ties)
You could use larger zip tie mounts like these.
Or you can screw the zip ties to the surface before wrapping your wires with something like this.
Edit: I’m using the first link for wire management for my reef aquarium, so it may work for you as well.
Get something like this for under your desk and route cables along the edge nearsest the wall: https://www.amazon.com/KEDSUM-Adjustable-Self-Adhesive-Management-Electrical/dp/B071KNSFF1
what many people do, including myself, is mount the power strip under the desk with 3M tape then attach the power cables/usb with cable ties to these cable clips. I have two monitors so I just velcro zip tie the HDMI and DisplayPort together and run them behind my monitors through the monitor stand. Hope this helps out man.
Gotta do that too, but that's why I carry a Wenger knife. I actually use zip-ties and these to keep them from having to do their own "cable management" with bandage material. You can even shoot a small screw through the holes on those to secure larger/heavier bundles.
The various "hospital grade" bandage tapes are notoriously difficult to remove cleanly, so much so that the supply closets on medical units stock special single-use adhesive remover pads for getting the goopy stuff off of patients' skin. If they get on a porous or semi-porous hard surface, removal is a real pain.
Or you could just buy some bongo ties or some velcro ties, the normal shit people in the industry use.
USA Strong Cable Ties. 36" Nylon Zip Cable Ties. Large 175 LB Tensile Strength Extra Heavy Duty Industrial Grade. Durable, great for Indoor Outdoor us https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KBAC1AA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_aS2d6CMx7Myzo
Not the large, heavy duty ones! (they cost a quarter or so)

This makes me nervous. You should run to Lowe's and they can cut down a piece of plywood for free. Just measure your pedals and leave room for cables and your power supply. Then by some velcro and zip ties with those sticky tie downs.

Then you can have things nice and tidy for under $30-40. Plus you'll get a second post! Think of the karma!!!
