Honestly you can go on Amazon and get quality beds. I bought a memory foam queen mattress online for $300 shipped. I worked as a delivery driver for a mattress company for 2 years, and I can verify that this mattress is on par with the quality of our supposed "$2000" memory foam mattresses. Mark ups are INSANE. My boss would spend around 2k for a delivery from the manufacturer, which would contain something like 6-8 full beds (mattress, boxspring, frame). Each of these would sell for between 1k and 4k with delivery, varying only somewhat in quality. Only the really low end "discount" beds were noticeably less comfortable. The one I picked up online stands up to many of the luxury beds I've worked with, its the best mattress I've ever slept on. 10/10 would buy a bed from Amazon any day and probably from here on out.

Edit: for those who have been asking, here is a link to the one I picked up: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NH0XWNU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_gS3ZAbADH6PPE

This is the mattress. It was discounted on prime day to $180 for the queen and $150 for the full if I remember correctly. I was thinking of buying it and noticed the same review as the OP.

u/four_toed_dragon · 12 pointsr/BDSMcommunity

i have one of these sitting in my car right now to deliver to my girl's place.

Heavy duty to support our fat asses, according to the reviews it's quiet, elevated (you don't use a box with it) so toy chests can roll under it. Also, with the way it's constructed, plenty of places to discreetly attach things.

/u/LowkeyMischief, if you're still shopping... take a look.

It's a Herman Miller Aeron. I'd looked for a used on craigslist since this retails around $1000.

The headrest looks like Engineered now's, which is another $150 or so. https://www.amazon.com/Engineered-Now-Headrest-Classic-Herman/dp/B005L9ATK6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1539457588&sr=8-4&keywords=herman+miller+aeron+headrest

Where are you going? Been to Afgan recently.
Dont bring all your gear from cif and rfi I brought all mine it sucks carrying. Try and just bring a bunch of thermals and then like your fleece and maybe your Wet weather gear. Also bring a nice fucking collapsing chair. All of the ones we had broke so we had some people buy some for tons of money or buy like 3 $25 chairs from bazar because they kept breaking. Also some carabiners or life savers so you can just hook gear and your m4 to shit and body armor. Also a plastic bed cover if you're like me and done wanna sleep in old ass beds without a layer between. Civ shorts and shirts for to and from toilet. Nice headlamp preferably rechargeable and a lightbulb for tents or rechargeable light for your personal area in the tent or bay. Personal mug cakes really helped something sweet from home if your in like Dalke. A soft gator neck mil spec on sucks. Strong allergy meds, a couple portable batterys 20000, a solid state external battery my traditional one broke from a small drop the SSD ones wont break easy. Paracord and duck tape, the rfi winter boots are good since the show soaks through your summer boots easy and you ur feet will be cold af. One of those big ass roller duffles helps and a tough box. Good set of eye pro its required some fobs.

Absolutely no prob :)

My mom reviews electronics for a living so we end up getting tons of new devices really often and generally need to find cables to match so things are being switched out and added in all the time. To make it more convenient instead of having to go sort through a box or into a drawer and untangle cables I wanted something super easy access to so that if i needed an hdmi , bam, I had one. Same with the others.

For the controllers I used Stick-On Game Controller Hooks 2 Pack. The snes and nes usb controllers are simply hung via a tack.

I got a simple ~$10 corkboard from walmart, used a label maker for the labels and then used CraZy TACKz 36tacks to hang the cables. I wouldn't recommend them though, a standard tack works better honestly ( In theory a hook is great but they loosen and then swing around making it a pain to re-orient them when you're taking things on and off frequently.)

The headphones under the desk is The Anchor Great adhesive, super cheap and can orient it vertically or horizontally which lets you fit two pair ( in my case one for skype/discord+gaming and the other for general use since it has better quality but no mic)

---
For anyone else curious about the other pieces of the set up:

the desk is Series A:72inch Desk by Bush Business Furinture.

The lights are EconoLed RGB 5M 3528 LED Strip Light 300leds

Mousepad is Reflex Lab Huge Gaming Mouse Pad

Ha! it's an older chair, so the closest thing I can find is this Alera Elusion Series Mesh Mid-Back Swivel/Tilt Chair, Black: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003G4OJK4/ref=dp_cerb_2

u/jcskifter · 5 pointsr/battlestations

I am the proud owner of two Herman-Miller Aeron chairs (don't be fooled, you can really only use one at a time) and they are very comfortable and highly adjustable. That said, there's one complaint. For my height 5'11", the way my head lands on the back of the chair is extremely uncomfortable. I solved this by purchasing aftermarket add-on head rests that matches the styling of my chairs. Those too are adjustable and end up being the perfect upgrade from a business chair to a battle-ready captain's chair. I truly find this much more ergonomic than one of the racing style 'gaming' chairs.

u/Micrafone_AssAssin · 5 pointsr/medicalschool

If you can't find a Herman Miller Aeron 2nd hand I would recommend this Lorell executive chair from [Amazon] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0074GX2YE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) with the extra [headrest] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P85C6OU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I did a ton of research on best bang for the buck chairs at the beginning of med school and after looking through tons of reviews, this one seemed to have the most people who were satisfied years after purchase while fitting within my sub-200 budget.

I've sat it in everyday studying for >8 hours for almost 2 years now and it's still as comfortable as day 1. The seat and arm cushions haven't worn down at all. The mesh backing has stayed taut and is very breathable. The headrest is super comfortable. The adjustments are solid and it has a great recline. Set up is easy too. Obviously this is no Aeron but if you don't want to go 2nd hand, I think this is a fantastic option.

The kitchen rack I got here on Amazon, and the schematics are from PatentPrints.

For storing beads still in bags, and smaller finished projects I use something like: https://www.amazon.com/Sterilite-ClearView-Storage-Drawer-Organizer/dp/B001KN12PI/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1519230842&sr=8-5&keywords=plastic+storage+drawers

For actual loose beads, i still use the large plastic trays you get in the sets. I find them pretty useful and rearranged them so they're easier to work with, which took a little while, but now they're nice palettes.

u/Avid-Collector · 3 pointsr/MarvelLegends

I use this for right now.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001KN12PI/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_7IiqDb6SEM09A

Top drawer for accessories (blaster effects, symbiote attachments, etc)
2nd for only weapons (guns. Lots of guns, swords, etc)
3rd for heads, hands and head accessories (ex: starlord headphones or jubilee sunglasses, etc)

Until I need bigger for more accessories I get.

u/silveringrid · 3 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

I use a few different things to house my goods. I have two small, three and five-drawered plastic stackers like these that I have on a shelf in my bathroom. Stuff I cycle through often tends to go in there, like primers and mascara. I also have a small three-drawer canvas cart that looks similar to this one where I throw larger items like palettes/blushes/whoknowswhatelse. Then on my desk (where I tend to do my make up) I have a small basket that everything I use daily gets thrown into if I need to use my desk for school. I have my brushes in a small round brush organizer and eyeliners/lipliners/brow brushes tend to go in there as well.

And then in my bedroom and strewn about my house are random Ipsy bags and Glossybox boxes with make up that I keep meaning to try but ultimately forget about.

u/Sphexi · 3 pointsr/VictoriaBC

Yes, the one I have absolutely is. I was using a more traditional coil spring with a pillow top(?) before, we bought it at the Brick Clearance when that was still a thing on Douglas, about 12 years ago.

Whether because the springs were wearing out or just the style of mattress, I couldn't sleep on my side without my back feeling strained. This new one is easily an 8 out of 10 for firmness, I was expecting to sink into it but I don't, and even sitting on the edge it doesn't compress more than 3 or 4 inches.

u/LTKVeteran · 3 pointsr/buildapc

I'll just list everything that I can, how's that?

The bakers rack on the left is This

The left most skillet is an AUS-ION
They're made in Australia and so smooth. Some nice touches of the piece are the very detailed cut-out of Australia on the handle and another nice engraving on the bottom.

Then there's the Stargazer. My first expensive piece. It's also very smooth. It's had a hard time keeping its seasoning, and I've admittedly been babying it by seasoning and seasoning it with flaxseed oil and a Crisbee puck.

Then there is the Finex group. It starts with the 10" grill pan. Then there's the 12" and 8". I just love the different geometric shapes of them.

All the way to the right is the Lodge Sauce Pot

I haven't used it a whole lot other than to make a few dips.

Between the big hanging skillets are some Lodge 4" and 5" skillets that I thought just looked cool and rounded out my collection.

The griddle is just a double sided griddle from world market. It's my go to pancake tool.

Then there is an A1 Chef pizza pan that I honestly don't use very much. I tend to just use some cheap aluminum pans with holes on the bottom because they're easier to form the crust on.

On the middle shelf from left to right are my 10" and 12" lodges. The 10" was my very first cast iron skillet. They've both been stripped and reseasoned and are much smoother than factory. I don't see myself giving up my first two skillets. I still use them a lot.

In the middle is the 10" grill pan from Lodge. I honestly hate cleaning the grill pans and have found that the lines in the meat aren't really worth the scraping. There's also some cheap fajita skillet that I don't think I've ever used.

And on the right is the Lodge enameled dutch oven but in the light grey. I love this thing, and got it for a song on Amazon one day.

On the bottom shelf on the left is the Lodge Wok I have definintely not used it. It seems like it would be better on a gas range, which I don't have. This was an impulse buy, and I don't know how to really cook any asian food, so who knows.

Then last but not least is the regular Lodge Dutch Oven
Many a roast has been made in this. The drip spikes on top does the basting for you. I just got a sous vide setup, so I'll probably be using it less and less, but sometimes I know I'll want the smell of a roast wafting through the air all day on a cold Autumn day.

Bonus pieces Kitchenaid Stainless Steel cookware set on top with All clad non-stick pans to the right of those.

Then there are some Lodge Stonewear on the other bakers rack

u/_TheOtherWoman_ · 2 pointsr/declutter

I have this bakers rack in my kitchen. I had the same problem as you. It now holds my mixer, crock pot, rice cooker and other kitchen items.

u/AdamDe27 · 2 pointsr/malelivingspace

When you are dealing with such small space, the key is to condense as many things as possible, and really do away with things that aren't needed.

Instead of a toaster oven and a microwave, I would consider upgrading to a better unit that incorporates both functions. It will cost you about $200 but a microwave is putting you almost halfway there already.

If you put that shelving on the left wall it's going to be in your face whenever you try to wash a dish. And as far as the drying rack on the right hand side, I guess my question is...why? Just lay a towel out on the counter when you wash dishes and put them away when you're done. You're cluttering an already small area with a non-essential.

Ultimately; I think this or something like this depending on the dimensions would solve a lot of issues with this space...

You'd place it under the cabinets to the left of the window so it flows down and that whole wall is where things are and the table top can hold whatever small appliances you go with. Then you could get rid of the mission table and keep everything against the wall which gives you a lot more workable space.

PS: I'm not sure what country you're in, but those outlets against the wall on your sink should absolutely be GFIC. It's a code violation and super unsafe. I think code says any outlet within 3 feet of a water source needs to be GFCI and the one on the left wall literally over the sink is idiotic. I'd tie it off and cover that shit up if I were you.

u/KaizokuShojo · 2 pointsr/castiron

Amazon, it's pretty nice but won't hold a ton... I mean, it'll hold more depending on if you buy extra S-hooks or not!

u/__Why · 2 pointsr/malelivingspace

On most refrigerators, it is a reasonably simple operation to reverse the opening. Get a friend and a couple of hours and you could resolve at least this piece of the puzzle.

Otherwise, I would say that perhaps getting a rolling cart like this: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30240348/ could be helpful. You could move it around as needed and tuck it into the least inconvenient corner when not in use.

Another alternative (especially if you reverse the fridge doors) would be to replace the existing appliance shelf with a baker's rack like this: http://www.amazon.com/Whitmor-6054-268-Supreme-Bakers-Chrome/dp/B0014QS1XC. It is 3' wide and you could put the appliances on the lower shelves.

u/nycjv321 · 2 pointsr/castiron

u/shortlivedlife · 2 pointsr/malelivingspace

You need one or two of these

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0014QS1XC/

Plus whatever you want to cook in, slow cooker, panini press, indoor grill, air fryer, hot plate with easy to wash non stick pans, Nespresso machine, Vitamix, French press, tea kettle, etc.

Pick your most used three and then get s hooks to hang utensils, pot holders, pans, etc.

Put your plates on the shelf below, and spices etc on top plus cereal etc can go on top too.

You can also use the wood top as a cutting board.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I am assuming you probably can't paint, so these are really awesome. You can also get them at www.walldecorplusmore.com. I use them and they are freaking awesome. They have so many different colors and they come off and go on easily. I haven't had any problems at all with them!

In my bathroom, I have two storage containers that work for me and sit on the counter, stacked on top of each other. There is one like this, not sure about the size on that one, but small enough to fit on your counter and have hair things, make up, toothpaste, etc, in it. Then on top of that, I have a smaller one similar to this on top.

Also, 3M hooks are your best friend! I have one for my keys by my door. One in my shower for my loofa. One on the side of my nightstand for a small hanging flashlight and my sleeping mask thing. You can seriously use these everywhere! It saves a lot of space.

How exciting, I am sure you will figure out what works for you!

u/RhysLlewellyn · 2 pointsr/diysound

Thank you. I've attempted to get a refund and just bought something else. If that fails I will attempt a repair.

Those amp boards could come in very useful though! They're insanely cheap. I have a side project building a racing simulator. I need a few amps to send power to some body shakers mounted under the chair. Do you happen to know if one of these would provide enough power one of these:

u/throttlekitty · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I bought one of these last year, and I'm happy with it. I opted not to get the armrests that swivel out and kind of wish I did. The seat and back don't unlock for a full backward tilt, so I can't do that lean back with a controller thing like i could with other chairs.

If you're able, check with your local office supply stores that aren't major chains, though those aren't terrible (best buy, office max etc). I found a place that does their own work alongside being an office supply, so they're using all the products they're showcasing. I couldn't afford most of their high end stuff, but ended up talking with practically everyone there and trying out a bunch of neat sit-stand desks.

Anyway, I learned the salesman as a dealer can customize some parts of the order instead of the usual pret-a-portier orders. Some manufacturers have this on their own sites, but you tend to pay a higher premium. Or the salesman's commission in my case, but I don't mind since I went for advice on a chair and got plenty. (well this ended up being a longer post than I meant)

u/wakwakwakwakwak · 2 pointsr/AskBattlestations

My first recommendation would be to search Craigslist. I purchased awesome, super expensive chairs on the cheap...Humanscale Freedom and Steelcase Leap for $100 or less each! The big brands you should look for are Herman Miller, Steelcase, Humanscale, and Knoll. There are probably other great brands and chairs, but that should be a good starting point.

If you don't find anything, Amazon actually has a few chairs that are <$200 and are pretty good. The AmazonBasics chair (https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=chair) has good reviews. I personally have the Alera Elusion (http://www.amazon.com/Alera-Elusion-Series-Mid-Back-Multifunction/dp/B003G4OJK4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage), which also has good reviews. It's not as fancy as the Humanscale or Steelcase, but they're definitely comfortable and gets the job done.

If you weren't in a single I would recommend this because privacy is awesome. But since you are, definitely have stuff to cook with in your dorm room. Find out what is legal to have in your dorm, but you would be amazed at the stuff you can make with a coffee maker.

Could I post a question here about what office chair to get for ergonomic chair with lumbar support? If I can ask it; I need it for health reasons, my therapist said I need a better chair for my back and neck but I am having issues finding something that won't be trash and a waste of my limited money.

I found this on Amazon after filtering to good reviews but again, I have no experience in this whatsoever. My budget is $160-170 but I think if I really can't find anything good below $200 I might be able to push to that.

Thank you!

You should look at exactly what is supporting the bed right now. There should be at least a couple center supports holding up the middle of the bed. If those are missing or broken you just need to figure out how to prop it back up again.

Being there is no boxspring you probably have lots of slats under the mattress and as long as they are not broken or warped beyond repair, beefing up your center support should be sufficient to make thing stable again. Worst case scenario, beef up the center supports and get a couple pieces of 3/4" plywood to put across for support as well. Just make sure it is evenly supported on the sides and center. Or you could go with something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Zinus-SmartBase-Mattress-Foundation-Replacement/dp/B00BWC1X3S/ref=sr_1_24?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1475268999&sr=1-24&keywords=metal+platform+bed and just pull out your existing support system. I wouldn't mess with anything like you posted in your link.

Beyond that its tough to say without actually seeing what is going on under the bed. Your mattress may or may not be ruined, just really depends on how bad it was and how long it was like that. Get your foundation right and go from there.

Decided to try something different by cutting out a "trench" on both sides of the top of table and laying RGB strips in and sealing them in with a frosted acrylic sheet. I just bought this chair off of Amazon. It is coming in the mail either today or tomorrow, and I can tell you how good it is after I use it. It has lumbar support, a head pillow, and arms that swing up, so it was perfect for me, especially in the price range.

Edit: chair is very comfortable, easy to assemble, and overall great build quality for the price. However, I am worried about its lifespan simply because its a Chinese knockoff. The manual is also hilarious, because they obviously used Google translate to write it

u/Buddin3 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Here is the link to the exact chair. I own it and love it, particularly that the arm rest lift up and you can lean back. However, the cushion is not very comfortable. I am not a big person by any means and my butt will start hurting after about an hour of play. Nothing that a little repositioning can't fix though.

What's the rough size you are looking for? Anyway, given your criteria these are probably the choices I would go with. They should all have free shipping.

55" x 55" x 24" L-Shape - $143.99

55" x 23.6" Desk, looks a little higher quality - $139.99

33 7/8 " x 19.5" x 23 5/8" - L-Shape, Keyboard Drawer, little shelf - $109.00

'47-71" x 35.5" x 29.5" - Office Style Desk - $188.05

71.5" x 23.25" - Table top - NO legs - $35.00

28" hairpin table legs - 4 pack - $59.99

Also check out Home Depot or a hardware store/lumber yard maybe. They often sell table tops and counter tops, all you would need is legs.

Okay so this probably sounds too good to be true but I decided to try a "mattress-in-a-box" thing too and my budget was a tad lower (by like 600 haha I'm a student) BUT I Think I've found the hidden-gem of mattress brands: Zinus. I got mine from amazon, and if you have prime shipping is free.

This is the one I have:

I'm gonna triple mount 3 Asus VG248QE monitors (24" screen, each 22.5"wide), and I'm unsure about what mounts I should use. I was eyeing this triple monitor mount, but I don't know if it will perfectly fit my monitors or allow me to curve them inward enough. This is a big deal for me since I want to have three monitors and my tower (9" wide) on my desk (72"), and curving the outer two monitors will make everything fit with ease. That being said, I was also thinking about getting 3 of these single monitor mounts which seem to be cheaper. The only cons I can think of with this is that initial set up will be a drag and the cable management will be less appealing. I assume this method would allow for more freedom with a single monitor, so I'll be able to save more space on my desk and rotate monitors with ease. I'm sorta leaning towards the latter option, but I could really use a second opinion- Should I get the 3x mount or 3 1x mounts? Is there a recommended alternative anyone can vouch for that won't kill my wallet?

Inside the other one I put the utensils and in the third one I position my cooking tools.

I personally have a big see through plastic tote where I carry my whole camping kitchen.
I have a collapsible sink with a drain which I use to wash them (or carry to a washing station depending of where we are at) and then I leave everything to air dry in there.

In the same plastic tote I place my drawer unit and some kitchen towels, a grilling mitt and a vinyl tablecloth with some holding hooks.

Bear in mind that I can't fit very long cooking tools in the drawer unit but I just use some short ones and the things that are longer like my stainless skewers, still fit in the big tote.

Yeah I do DIY and just filled a big tacklebox.. I would totally get a 3 tier tacklebox but the flavors won't sit upright like you said. I'm sure it's not a big deal but I'm a bit anal about it. I still don't know what to get next.. I'm thinking of some kind of plastic 3-drawer storage type of thing like this - but I would prefer it to be black and lightproof.

We use a small 3 tier drawer container (like this http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001KN12PI/ref=pd_aw_sims_5?pi=SL500_SS115&simLd=1) I keep them grouped by size. We have an AAHA accreditation this month and keeping them covered and clean and out of the way.

I like this system though we also use old IV lines as ties so we store them there too and we can easily grab the container and have everything you need! We also back stock the XL sizes (I had to order a horse tube for my dane once lol)

They're not real classy looking but they're super functional and come in lots of different sizes for storing different materials. Craft stores also carry storage solutions that work well for organizing small things like beads and hooks.

I'd like to say that my materials are sorted by both type and color, but that would be a lie. They are really just sorted by type.

Just to add to warwatch who had most of what was on my list:

  • bathroom floor mats
  • measuring cup (this kind and this kind; Pyrex is good for the former but any old set will do for the latter)
  • dish brush (like here, way better than a sponge)
  • whisk
  • tongs
  • tupperware containers
  • grater
  • coasters
  • ramekins
  • meat thermometer (I got this one about 4 months ago and it's been pretty good; no more "is this what cooked pork/chicken/meat looks like?")
  • silicone spatula
  • pot holders, oven mitts
  • Various sizes of wall hooks. Useful for hanging things on the wall that would otherwise be leaning or on top of something (broom, mop, linter, hair dryer, depending on your cabinets you can even hang pot lids on the walls of the cabinets)
  • paper towel holder
  • shower/bath organizer - depending on how you are set up, you can use a shower caddy to hold most of your things; my showerhead and the pipe leading to it from the wall is angled in a way so that isn't possible but I've had this for about 1.5 years and it has been great.
  • if you have a cabinet in the bathroom, something like these small drawers may be useful for organization.

Some of this depends on how much cooking you are planning to do, but it's all pretty essential in my experience.

Buttkickers? Haven't tried with racing sims yet, just using as a subwoofer alternative and its incredible, gives a placebo effect that a sub is playing while everyone around is asleep and vibrations really immerses you in music. Setting up was just disconnecting wires from a sub and connecting to buttkicker, other one runs on the second sub output my amp has. Im using these .

And 2m of audio cable (only available inn 1m atm) :

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fisual-S-Flex-Studio-Grade-Speaker-Black/dp/B01L2EK7EG?th=1

I have the 2 shakers mounted underneath my Ikea chair on the left & right sides.

They are just screwed into the wood base with some rubber washers on there too for dampening.

I've read that it's better with the shakers mounted on some metal brackets / bars to allow them to vibrate more, but I haven't tried this yet.

Currently use a SoundBlaster Z for the main pc sound, and my motherboards' onboard audio to drive the amp/shakers.

Works well as far as I can tell - don't have anything to compare it against - and I never need to have the amp above 50% volume, with the onboard audio at 90% volume in windows.

For software I use SimVibe, but both Simhub & SimShaker Wheels also work well too. I'd say SimhHub is easier to tweak to taste due to not needing to mess around with .wav files in Audacity.

Plus if you want rumble from other games / movies output through the shakers for some added immersion, then use Voicemeter Banana and enable the eq on the secondary output channel assigned to the onboard audio.

Then set the low pass filter @75-90Hz.

There's a big thread on RaceDepartment with plenty of more info on setups much more advanced than mine :

Yeah, got two of those under my chair. They are a bit overkill, one should have done. They are not actually that small, they are obviously smaller than a sub woofer base bin, but they are like 3 inches wide including the fixtures and they can make a sofa bounce (read reviews, one odd one about it melting, but dont understand that at all lol).

Post got huge so TL;DR: A Basic purchase list of bits and rudimentary instructions.

Heres my setup with UK Amazon links (sorry not sure where you are in the verse Cmdr):

  1. Amp: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00SATAEEA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  2. Body Shakers (two of them), they look small on the screen, but they are 3 inches is diameter. NOTE: if anyone reading this decides to go for it (highly recommend) make sure you put some washers between the body shaker and chair. I didnt do that at first and it actually stops the device from rumbling, I put about 5mm clearance and BOOM your butts being kicked :) Two of them on a standard office chair is overkill but I always want MORE POWER hehe :) https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002LQAHPE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  3. Subwoofer filter (crossover), removes the high's and mids from the sound. Got this about 2 weeks after as I could hear alarms starport announcements which were on the higher audio frequencies: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000L9D0ZW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

Wire them in parallel, (wiring aint my strong suit but took 2 mins of watching a youtube vid to understand). The last thing to mention is getting sound to be outputted from two sources. You could go for 2 soundcards, but luckly I have the realtek soundcard which can have a "virtual" card using one of the MANY sound outputs on it. This then allows you to feed a different sound feed to a different audio jack. I then used a free program called voicemeeter (has two e's) and this allows you to feed the same signal to two different outputs. Which is handy, alternatively you could splice the standard audio jack cable to support 2 feeds. Problem with that for me is I use USB audio, so voicemeeter solved that problem, have USB headphones with baseshakers which is standard phono.

Hope the above helps, give me a shout if you want pictures or anything else. Good luck with your build Cmdr.

This is the body shaker. It's marked as Rock Wood 100w/4 ohm.

This is the amp, 200w per channel 150w bass.

I wasn't running it flat out so I don't think I was pushing it too hard. Like I said it only got hot while I was playing games. I've played music for 4-5 hours straight with out any issue.

This doesn't answer your question, but my work buys us new chairs every year. I've been through a ton of chairs.

I got https://www.amazon.com/Alera-ALEEL42ME10B-Elusion-Mid-Back-Multifunction/dp/B003G4OJK4 three years ago and refuse to give it up.

My advice is to order this and don't look back.

u/MisterDeadeye · 1 pointr/OpTicGaming

They get a lot of their stuff from IKEA. Check there.

Also this is similar and this is a well regarded chair: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003G4OJK4

This isn't specifically a PC question, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a decent chair for both PC gaming and console gaming(where you sit a little further back and want to lean backwards a little).

I've been looking at this one after reading some recommendations, but my only problem with it is there isn't any kind of headrest part. I'm not looking for anything fancy, but just something reliable(my current chair has leather peeling off and slowly sinks by itself, forcing me to constantly pull the lever and raise it).

u/mikefromearth · 1 pointr/gaming

This chair is probably unbeatable for the price.

The Alera Elusion Series Mesh Mid-Back Multifunction Chair.

It's breathable, super comfortable, very adjustable and very well-built.

I've been using one for a year now and I love it.

I got this one a few months ago, and it's been kicking ass so far.

i was going to get this one HeadRest It looks just like the chair it self and can adjust to just about any angle.

u/MooG1337 · 1 pointr/AskBattlestations

Black friday is coming up. A few years ago i bought my head rest on sale on amazon during black friday week, so it may be worth keeping an eye on that.

Got it for like $50 off.

It was this one and i really like it.

u/toastman42 · 1 pointr/buildapc

What kind of price range are you looking at, and are you thinking more along the lines of a traditional plush leather office chair or a more modern-looking breathable mesh chair such as a Herman Miller Aeron with a headrest?

u/RaidBoss3d · 1 pointr/buildapc

I felt the same way but honestly I never even noticed it.

However, if you must this one is made for it

u/Ninjaba · 1 pointr/battlestations

I use the H3 model from this company. Looks like there's a newer H4 model that wasn't available yet when I purchased mine years ago. Not sure if the price difference is worth it over the H3, but you might as well get the H4 anyway.

The headrest is pretty sweet, it's fully adjustable and stays in whatever position you keep it in. Also the fabric and color are pretty much identical to the Aerons, it's like it was made by Herman Millar themselves.

I'm dealing with a similar situation atm and I fall back on meditation and self hypnosis, because for some reason people understand that a person doing those things is to be left in peace, and it doesn't seem to make anyone insecure. It gives me the sort of battery charge a far longer amount of time alone doing nothing in particular would. I'm not sure how you could live like that long term though, tbh.

It looked similar to the one I saw on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Lorell-High-Back-Swivel-Chair-x28-1/dp/B0074GX2YE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1410052935&sr=8-2&keywords=lorell+executive+high+back+chair

I have been trying to find someone on here who has it and see what they thought about it. Anyways, thanks for the reply!

u/rebelx · 1 pointr/buildapc

Can someone please comment on the following chairs?

I currently use the Staples Torrent, but after spending the past two months in it for more than 12 hours/day studying, I realized that I can't do that anymore. It needs to go. My shoulders and back hunch forward and my thighs start to hurt after a bit as well. It was great in the beginning--granted I never sat this long for such an extended period of time--but now it's just aggravating.

I don't want leather/"leather" anymore. I need ventilation. Mesh only. I wish someone had told me this sooner.

I'm looking at this from Amazon (Lorell LLR86200 or its newer variant (actually, based on the reviews it might be a different model style entirely) the LLR86205. The first chair in particular has a significantly number of positive reviews.

From Office Depot, we have the Realspace Pro Quantum 9000 Series that was recommended previously by a redditor. Lots of reviews on the site, but also much more expensive as it's $279 from them.

From Staples, the Staples branded Hyken which has favorable reviews and the Acadia, but some people have commented about it not being great for sitting too long.

Lastly, I just discovered Madison Seating from a redditor comment, but I have never heard of it nor know why their prices are significantly lower than the competition. For example, the Herman Miller Mirra at $499 or the Leap Steelcase v2 at $575.

I just want something that will not cause me pain anymore.

For the most part, my budget from Amazon is $250 (max). If it's something that costs a little bit more, that'd be OK--it'll eventually go on sale and I can pick it up at the lower price.

Everywhere else (Staples/OD/etc) it's a budget of $150-200 if at all possible.

If it's for one of the higher end chairs (e.g., from Madison Seating), I'd really have to think about it and see if the jump from any of the listed chairs makes a difference.

EDIT: Online review of Madison Seating show that they take used chairs, refurb them, and then sell as new. I'll skip that retailer.

u/hellokhoi · 1 pointr/buildapc

I ride a Herman Miller Aeron at work, and nothing else really compares. But fuck me if I'm gonna spend $500+ on chairs for the house ... I've found Lorell Executives to be an excellent value and a great chair (adjustable, super ergonomic, good size) for long hours on the computer. I'm a big guy and wreck lesser chairs (every Ikea and Office Depot/Max chair ever)in a matter of months but the Aeron and Lorell chair have held up.

http://www.amazon.com/Lorell-High-Back-Swivel-Chair-x28-1/dp/B0074GX2YE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1420872606&sr=8-1&keywords=lorell+chair

ETA: I'm reading a lot of comments that are recommending Costco chairs, I have to recommend against them. I've personally thrown 3 out from wearing out the cushions and arms.

u/Jakomako · 1 pointr/buildapc

Honestly, your best bet is to go to a store that sells chairs and try them out. You should be able to tell which ones are sturdy enough for you, plus it'll be a lot easier to figure out what's comfortable.

I spend a lot of time in various conference rooms for work, and I was very pleased with this chair: http://www.amazon.com/Lorell-High-Back-Swivel-Chair-x28-1/dp/B0074GX2YE

I don't know how durable it is though because the place that had them had just bought them a few months prior.

Although I am not super expert in this field but, I have two recommendation for you, its under your budget hopefully it would be comfortable too (based on customer review). first one is Flash Furniture Vinyl Executive Office Chair and the second one is Flash Furniture High Back Leather Chair. didn't search at UK market but Flash Furniture is a big brand and I am sure they have covered their UK market.

u/DifferentAnt · 1 pointr/battlestations

When I was looking for a good chair I thought about the DX Racer. I really wanted one but looking back I'm kind of glad I didn't get one they seemed a bit to exaggerated. I ended up getting one from amazon, that to this day I really like. it's kind of big and "bulky" but pretty damn comfortable where I can easily sit in every night for 5+ hours.

A big problem I think is that DX Racers are mostly given to streamers/youtubers for free or at a very discounted price and one can't complain about something free.

This is the chair I got.

Holy, no way, chairs are super important, especially if you are going to sit for multiple hours. In the long run, having a good chair will improve you long term health and should stop back pain. And with him bring 12, it's better to have a good foundation earlier so he doesn't much up his life.

Anyways, I am also looking for another chair and I've narrowed it down to two for 100-150 (96-143 Euro i believe).

If you'd be willing to spend a bit more on this one it's got a lot more support.

u/GrimwoodCT · 1 pointr/IKEA

As an additional aside to amend this:
Our IKEA mattress support after eight years of vigorous use (plus I’m a pretty big guy) developed a crack in one of the wooden mattress supports. We really loved the frame and didn’t know what to do. We ended up getting a ZINUS Mattress support that fit perfectly inside our IKEA outer bed frame. It is extremely sturdy, unbelievably easy to assemble, holds up to 1100 pounds and wasn’t terribly expensive. Obviously, every frame/mattress size has its own corresponding ZINUS product we simply adore the king-size one that we got. The link below will indicate what we bought. It does not require a Bunkie board or plywood to support our mattress.

I've considered buying a Malm bed frame but supporting it with a SmartBase metal frame (apparently you can remove the internal hardware of the Malm).

Has anyone done similar?

u/ro4ers · 1 pointr/AirBnB

This doesn't look sturdy at all.

The thin slats and the hollow steel frame won't survive long, especially with heavier people. Also, while the slats are interchangeable, the frame can't be repaired if it bends.

The reviews are not very flattering either, mostly from people complaining that you can't have sex on it or it breaks.

Edit: The same brand has the Zinus 14 Inch Elite SmartBase Mattress Foundation, for Big & Tall, Extra Strong Support, Platform Bed Frame which looks to be pretty durable. Have to buy a mattress separately though.

Reasoning for this parts list:

  • The i5 7500 is a great chip for both gaming and content creation, as it packs plenty of power under the hood without being extremely expensive like an i7. If you can fit an i7 into the budget after all your peripherals are decided on, however, go for it.

  • In this case, a CPU cooler is really unnecessary because that particular CPU is locked. I've added in the Hypoer T2 because it'll be quieter than the stock cooler, but if you're okay with the extra noise, you can drop it and save another $20 for your peripherals.

  • Motherboard chipsets don't really affect performance unless you're an overclocker. It doesn't seem like you'll need more than just peripheral attachments and the usual ethernet compatibility, so this B250 board will do the job without breaking the bank.

  • 16gb DDR4-3000 memory- This is probably the best value option I could find on PCP. 16gb is plenty of capacity for doing video editing, and definitely will be fast enough at 3000mhz.

  • Grabbed a 240gb SSD for use as a boot drive and for program access (games and editing software, in your case). This will chop your load times significantly and make your computer feel much more responsive than loading off a hard drive. Also noteworthy: If you have a preference towards a specific brand, most 240gb SSD's are around this price mark, so this one is more or less a placeholder.

  • Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm drive- 2TB, as requested, with a 64mb cache for slightly faster retrieval of commonly used files. Also, this one is made by one of the two hard drive giants in the industry and has a very good reputation as a reliable drive.

  • Gigabyte GTX 1080 Windforce- This GPU will obliterate games, and provide ample power for rendering and for pushing the listed 1440p monitor.

  • SeaSonic G-750 PSU- SeaSonic's brand name is all about high quality and reliability. This PSU will last you years to come while having very good energy efficiency (this will reduce heat output and electricity costs significantly). This particular model is semi-modular, meaning that peripheral power cords like SATA and PCI-E 6/8 pin connectors aren't hard wired into the unit- you can remove them if you're not using them. This makes for an easier build and a cleaner looking case if you opt for a side window panel.

  • LG 34UC79G- This one was a bit harder to find something I'd approve of. Of course, at 1080p, it's not the highest resolution, but it is capable of displaying up to 144fps. If framerate is less important than resolution, there are other 1440p monitors available closer to 75hz that will do just as nicely, for about the same price.

  • I didn't budget in a copy of Windows 10 because it can be downloaded for free and run unlicensed without holding your computer hostage (you just lose some customization features like wallpapers and stuff). If you want a legit copy, you can purchase a key for about $110 retail or $90 for an OEM key.

  • EDIT: Ended up cherry-picking the ASUS PB227Q 27" monitor from Ye_untaken_username's build, because higher resolution and lower price. The monitor I'd previously specced is nice but overkill for someone who's not a hardcore gamer.

  • Also added in a Fractal Define Mini C because they're nice, and small, without requiring an ITX board that will have you spend 2x more on the motherboard. If you want a bigger case, you can get a Core 2300 for even less than this case, just without some of the nicer features of this one.

I didn't add in a case and peripherals because those are highly subjective- at the end of the day, what works for my hands might not for yours. This build leaves about $550 CAD in the budget for a keyboard, mouse, headset, desk and chair- it's not enough for the very best of all of those, but it should make your goal attainable.

If you need more budget for the last few periphery items, you can drop down to this 1070 and open up another $250.

If your budget for the desk/chair/keyboard/mouse/headset is significantly less than $550, I would get this Core i7 7700 CPU for $400, over the i5 7500 for $260. You'll dip into your peripheral budget by about $140 but notice better editing power over the i5.

    EDIT 2:

I found these for about another $600 more. It'll be tight, but I think this pretty accurately represents what one might spend on these parts.

The desk and chair, I'm not sure about, because I don't know what kind of department stores you have in your area, but I'd be surprised if you couldn't get a desk and chair for less than $280 to bring the total build into your $2700 budget.

I'm in the same boat as you. Even the Mississippi part actually. Office Depot has desks as well so you could look at those in person. I know we have a good few here. I've been through two of these. They do the job, just don't kick at the back panels like I do or they'll break off lol

I searched on Amazon for L Shaped Desk and found a whole bunch of options. Many under $100. I linked to one I thought was a great price.
How it works is you order the item you like and they will ship it to you and then you put it together yourself using very basic tools. Like a Phillips screw driver and sometimes a hammer.

I also went to Walmart.com and searched L shaped desk and found this one below. Walmart offers free shipping when the item is over $25 so getting from Walmart (or even target.com) will be the best option. Shipping is pretty quick in my experience. The desks I've found so far all look like they will be easy to assemble. Also, most of the results are available in multiple finishes (wood/black etc) so make sure you select the option you want.

Sorry if my links are wacky, I'm on mobile.

I had the same desk you did and moved to this recently which is about the same size, if you're looking for something woodlike.

I like it's look but do regret not getting a more expensive office chair even if it was an extra 200-300 bucks

What do u think of these:

Both highly rated and much cheaper. User feedback looks good, it's what I'd go for

u/Yellow6946 · 1 pointr/MousepadReview

I guess that's true, but then how are desks that are sold on the market with a mousepad surface profitable, if they will just be worn out? Like mousepad desk

u/tec_41 · 1 pointr/battlestations

Arozzi Arena. It assembles like a piece of Ikea furniture, but is quite solid. And the entire surface being a mouse pad is a feature I never knew I needed.

u/CallSignIcarusActual · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

I did, but their chairs are too pricey for me. I was looking into getting something like this.

I don't have a need for drawers and this is the desk I got. It's sturdy and is a good writing platform. Just be wary of damage during shipping.

Bought this over a year ago, and never looked back. Its just a simple, sturdy, affordable desk.

For reference I have 2x 21", 1x27" monitors on a 3 monitor versa stand in the center (They go over the edges about 5"-6"). Above the center 27" monitor is a 32" TV on a separate single tall style versa mount.

u/CoffeeBoy97 · 1 pointr/buildapc

If you don't mind putting one together yourself I recommend this one. Took me about 40 min with just a multi tool. I have a 27" and a 24" vesa mounted on the small side and a 55" TV on the big side and i couldn't be happier with it.

Surprised to get this with free shipping and no tax.

Won't win any quality awards but for the price hard to beat. Comes in light brown or black. Looks to be almost identical to the Tribesigns desk at Amazon going for $135.99 + tax.

u/PlasmaTune · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

After purchasing this mattress, I'll never own another brand. For a few hundred dollars as long as I get a year out of it MINIMUM it pays for itself compared to the $3,000 in store mattresses. (You can get the non gel infused for $250 compared to $400 but be aware it may be a bit warmer)

u/PrincessSleepyFace · 1 pointr/xxfitness

Just bought this and this after two different friends recommended it. Maybe you could fit it into your budget? We actually had the same plan (wait until we buy a house in two years) but life is too short to sleep in an uncomfortable/too small bed.

u/bangbangsnipesnipe · 1 pointr/buildapc

Has anyone ever had to shop for a 20" deep/wide desk? I'm trying to find one that's about 50-54" long, but it's next to impossible to find one at that length that's not 24" deep or more; I'd like to find one that's basic and black, too, which compounds the issue even further.

Something that's akin to this that wasn't 23.6" deep would hit the spot, so I'm hoping someone here might've had to buy a desk of that size, themselves, and can point me towards a good place to find them. I feel like I've spent hours upon hours over the last month trying to find something! I'd be nice if more sites had an easier way to filter results.

Inexpensive, good amount of space, easy to put together, simple aesthetic.

u/v3ndun · 1 pointr/buildapc

thought about the butcherblock.. but stuff like that doesn't come treated. I didn't have the time/space to do all that. I wasn't confident that the ikea top was going to support my tower to well. I noticed my, then, glass desk had a tiny bow in it.. so I was eager to find a replacement.

I bought a Tribesigns desk.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XVQJSCL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It felt silly to buy a piece of wood sturdy enough to hold a computer, cut it, stain it, wax or otherwise protect it for more than buying this desk. The frame is metal The top is covered in a vinyl but is like a sturdy hybrid/mesh concoction. The sides can scrape easily if you're not careful.

It fit perfectly into the 57"ish space I had.

years ago, a roommate and I just installed a kitchen countertop formica.. a 18' long one. Was a little tacky, but it worked and best of all, it was cheap.
