Reno 911: The Complete Series https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MWP738I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_3CTOBbC9ZZQW9
Three of the top four videos (as of right now) in this post were all directed by Spike Jonze. Get the DVD set, it's worth it.
$25 for the entire series.

That's just how it is. Believe it or not, Funimation's prices are actually pretty decent. Sentai is similarly priced.
If you really want to shit your pants, go look at Aniplex USA or Ponycan USA releases. Kill La Kill BD Volume 1. Release date: July 15, 2014. Episodes 1-4. ONE THROUGH FUCKING FOUR. $40.00 USD. "Oh that's just the MSRP direct from the walletfuckers, it'll be cheaper from other retailers." Nope and [Amazon link unavailable because Amazon doesn't even carry it].
You paid $30 for Steins;Gate because you bought it when they released the whole thing branded as an anime classic. I know this, because that's when I bought it. That was a rerelease. The original was offered as two split cours that came out a few months apart and each had prices higher than the classic bundle.
This is what Funimation and Sentai do, with few exceptions:
Sentai doesn't really do rereleases, instead they just regularly (but only temporarily) slash the prices of a lot of their old stock. They have a decent sale going on now, but a few months back they had drastically cut down the prices on a lot of their content, with some subtitle-only releases going for $15 per season (on BD!) and dubbed releases for $18.
been refreshing amazon all morning, is it actually there now?it is!You can get the entire series for super cheap on Amazon

thanks for posting, i had NO IDEA they had a box-set out, when i get paid im going to pick it up, for $14 for 8 discs that's basically nothing.

As an avid fan of Spike Jonze, I am sure you are intimately familiar with this: http://www.amazon.com/Directors-Vol-Director-Spike-Jonze/dp/B0000AZT2X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421695008&sr=8-1&keywords=spike+jonze

Could just get the blu-ray ;)
>Is there a GT release in 4:3 native/Funimation Dub/Japanese Music? If so, where could I find it?
Yes. There's an English with Japanese Music option on the Green Brick set.

Apparently it's been out since November, and it's only $58!!
You may know this already, but the high US costs are partially driven by the risk of reverse importation back to Japan (since the US and Japan are the same blu-ray region). By raising the price close to Japan's you mitigate the risk, so low cost versions will never be released until the shows stop selling in Japan. This is also why the UK gets cheaper versions (Madoka Blu-ray complete @~£20=$34) but with almost no bonus features. Things are changing with the recent Gurren Lagann acquisition in the UK, but we mostly get cheap and cheerful
Of course, the fact people buy it at a high price in the US has also got to make them want to keep costs high, and that mostly occurs due to such a large population for a single license region, so they can afford to do it.
here's a cheaper variant or you could move to england. in my opinion it's worth shelling out the money for a series you consider a masterpiece.
before you go wild pirating stuff.. check out Daisuki and Crunchyroll. both have (some)free, legal, hq streaming options. Daisuki i know for sure to have Madoka in full+free and they're 100% legit japanese distributors that work directly with producers.
Here it is on Amazon! It's a phenomenal collection. I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone into music videos, Spike Jonze, or both.

Someone recently asked if Dragon Ball would ever make it to Bluray. To quote /u/VegettoEX:
>Asked often, but no real updates. For an actual HD release, someone would need to pony up and scan film masters. Right now, that would have to be Toei; FUNimation's current masters are digibeta tapes at best.
I mean, they could do an upscaled release to Blu-ray, but that'd be a lot more trouble than it's worth with their current materials, and if they crop anything else... (insert fist-shaking here)
I would honestly expect to see something from Toei on Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT in HD before I would expect to see it from FUNimation.
----
That being said, our FAQ in the sidebar has a list of your options when it comes to purchasing the series.
>##Q: What is the best way to purchase the anime?
A: There are many different ways to purchase the anime. While all releases of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT are in their native 4:3 fullscreen aspect ratio, most English releases of Dragon Ball Z were cropped to 16:9 widescreen.
>* For Dragon Ball, your best option is the Blue Brick DVD sets. [4:3 Native]
>Other releases include:
>* The Dragon Ball Z Orange Brick DVD set [16:9 Cropped], which are criticized for their aggressive filtering, over-contrasted colors, automated center crop, and excessive detail loss during scenes with shaky picture.
There's a full color release of the entire manga over in Japan. Viz completely fucked us over by cancelling their English release. In regards to reading right to left, you get used to it very quickly. Flipping artwork is just as bad as cropping the anime.
As for whether or not the Blurays are worth it, I'd say they are. They're less than ideal, but we're probably not going to get a better product any time soon considering Funimation cancelled the amazing level sets.
Amazon.
In US it is in Amazon, Google Play, iTunes, Microsoft Store, Vudu and others.
Very different to UK (and other non-US/CA/NZ countries) where it is not available at all.
Jonze also did this one. There's a DVD collection of Jonze's music videos. They all blow me away. I like his movies but loved his vision for stuff like this.

I just ordered the complete series box set after seeing the Terry videos on YouTube two weeks ago for the first time. This is one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. Box set is $20 on Amazon if anyone is interested. Link below.

here you go
Haha, you can get it off Amazon
You can also get the two Stargate SG1 movies on blu ray but I'm not sure if you'd be interested in the adventures of a bunch of humans in another galaxy ;)
Officially, there are the cancelled level sets, but they are incomplete.
For complete, you'll have to collect the DVD singlets from 1999, which is a daunting task. They are not numbered, you will have to find them by title.
Unfortunately, 4:3 Faulconer is a pain if you don't want to go the free route.
There's only one way that I know of to buy pre-Z Dragon Ball uncut and in its entirety. You'll want to pick yourself up the Blue Bricks. The quality isn't terrible compared to the Orange Bricks. Don't forget about the movies.
For Z, you'll definitely want to avoid the Orange Bricks. The only good thing about this release is that it finally made Dragon Ball Z easy to buy without collecting endless DVDs. But the picture is botched up beyond being saved, and it's cropped to widescreen. Ideally you'd want to purchase the Dragon Boxes, but they're out-of-print and cost a pretty penny. Maybe check eBay if you're interested. You're probably going to want to go with the latest Blu-Ray releases. They're still cropped like the Orange Bricks, but they're a superior overall product even if they still aren't up to par with what we should be getting. Pick up the movies and Battle of Gods too.
GT is pretty simple. Buy the Green Brick. Like the pre-Z Blue Brick, the "remastering" didn't destroy the integrity of the product. It also comes with the one GT TV special. Yay!
And if you're interested in what order you should watch all this, check out our guide.

you should buy his Directors's Series DVD. http://www.amazon.com/Directors-Series-Vol-Director-Spike/dp/B0000AZT2X
It comes with a book of his sketches, ideas, scripts, interviews, and has all his videos with commentary.
He is an owner of Palm Pictures, the distributor of these great DVDS, so in buying the disc you support him quite a bit.
Half this thread is on this DVD I found this summer.
Breaking Bad - Season 1.. of course, if you haven't seen it before, this is a dangerous choice because you'll watch it and then have to buy season 2 and 3.
But the US DVD/Blu-Ray of Planet Earth used Attenborough's voice. The Weaver version was only shown on TV.
At least, the version I bought at Best Buy in Chicago has Attenborough's narration.
Also: DVD / Blu-Ray - Not an import, it's Region 1/Region A for the US market, but it's only available online.
His one documentary, Life is so bloody good. It's a pleasure just to re-watch it. No reason to downvote LFK1236 for not knowing though.
Amazon.com is your friend.

I got these a few years ago and have been happy with the packaging. Although, I miss my big box sets that I gave back to my dad, its nice to have a consistent looking collection. It is on amazon, though. Dirt cheap, too. Just not their streaming service.
https://www.amazon.com/Reno-911-Complete-Cedric-Yarbrough/dp/B00MWP738I
Amazon's gotten into the tv business by filming original series. They've recently put up several pilot episodes for people to watch and then vote on whether they should be picked up for a whole series. If they are picked up for a series, then Amazon will produce it and release it through their streaming service.
They've done this already with a couple of shows.
I quite enjoyed the pilot of Man in the High Castle. I thought the world was believable and the effects were very well done. Some people seem to really hate it, but I think they're a definite minority.
You can watch the episode here, even if you don't have a Prime subscription.
> So the networks lose again, all because they won't allow us to pay for content directly, in a reasonable way.
What's wrong with buying it on Amazon? Not a "reasonable way"?
Sincerely,
Richard Nixon

Vinland Saga
This is a wonderful video, and simply one of many by Spike Jonze.
While these collection don't begin to cover all of them, I recommend the Director's Series DVD sets that feature Spike Jonze and others. The two packages that are most relevant to this convo are http://www.amazon.com/Directors-Vol-Director-Spike-Jonze/dp/B0000AZT2X and http://www.amazon.com/Directors-Label-Boxed-Set-Cunningham/dp/B00065AXTM/. The first is just Spike Jonze, while the second is a boxed set that also includes videos by Chris Cunningham and Michel Gondry.
And at the risk of veering off-topic, check out the DVDs in the same series that include Mark Romanek's videos.
Sweet! I have the DVD set but I don't like to touch it as I'm afraid of scratching the discs and/or getting fingerprints on the packaging. It's too dear to me. Haha ;)
suicide bomber

...start with 3x16? What the fuck is wrong with you?
Start with this.
End with this.
There's a brand new box set out. The complete series for under $100. (doesn't include the miniseries)
Already released. I got it a few weeks ago.
What's bizarre is it doesn't even seem like it was a choice by the US public, who seem fine with understanding Attenborough:
The Amazon reviews thoroughly slate the decision..
> Does anyone have comparison pictures of the the DVD Movie Packs vs the Blu Ray Double Features?
I only own the Dragon Box DVD Movie set. It would be a bit unfair to compare those, but if you're wanting to see that comparison, then I'll do it. Although what you're going to be expecting from the DVD set and the blu-ray set is only sharper imaging from the blu-ray set.
Dragon Ball is available on DVD on these blue sets http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Season-One/dp/B002FOQXTQ
Dragon Ball Z is available in it's entirety on DVD on similar sets but they are fairly awful quality (fake widescreen, heavy filtering applied, etc) http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Season-Vegeta-Saga/dp/B000KWZ1TI
Dragon Ball GT is available in a single DVD set
http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-GT-Sean-Schemmel/dp/B0063RE4X8
They've released the Dragon Ball Z movies on blu-ray, and Dragon Ball Z Kai is available on blu-ray, and they've started and stopped releasing the series previously with the Level 1.1 and Level 1.2 sets (no longer available). It looks like they are going to try releasing it on blu-ray AGAIN though http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Blu-ray-Sean-Schemmel/dp/B00F9IB1M4
I wouldn't hold my breath though. Funimation likes to start releasing a set and then cancel halfway through. Plus from what I'm reading it's the same garbage quality as the orange brick sets, only it's the 1080p version of it.
Spice and Wolf: (season 1 + 2) (blu ray + DVD) is on sale for $24.49.
http://www.amazon.com/Spice-Wolf-Complete-Blu-ray-Combo/dp/B00HXEWFWM/
I feel like someone here just wanted to brag about how awesome his French collector's edition is... but sure, I'll bite. :)
I've got two editions. First is the Australian DVD release, which is the full series on 4 dvds. Absolutely nothing special about it, plus the box art is not my favourite - to me it hints at furry fanservice which is not really my liking... Sanity Plus, Madman tend to have awful yellow subs on all their dvds.
Other one is the American blu-ray/dvd combo, It's heaps better, much better art, and the subs are much nicer too. Plus I love it when the BD/DVD are released in the same box. I got it half price than just the Aussie dvd's, second hand but still in the shrink wrap from some dude who was selling a bunch of his anime. Amazon
Yours is still far superior! I'm not aware of any special editions in English.
Best price it has ever been on Amazon.

The Directors Label series is pretty great. Spike Jonze, Chris Cunningham, Mark Romanek, and Michel Gondry in particular are well worth the money.
You NEED this in your soul

Yeah I got the Batman Beyond Complete Series a month or 2 back. I love that show and I have heard nothing but stellar things about Batman: The Animated Series. Ill probably pick all the seasons up in the next couple months although this is what I really want

I pirated it too. Then I bought it from here.
Or: Life (BBC Series Narrated by David Attenborough) [Blu-ray]
It's a great series.
The sad part is that the American narrator versions don't sell as well (and are not rated as well.)
The Sigourney Weaver version of Earth tanked (in DVD and Blu-Ray sales) and now it looks like the Oprah version of Life will tank compared to the Attenborough version.
Of course, the voice replacers will keep trying...
already released :)

The Maxx or MTV's The Maxx.
Check it out if you haven't. Meet Maxx, meet the Isz. :)
agreed ! and it's been on sale on blu-ray too a few times on amazon
edit - there's a 2011 and 2009 versions , recent is cheaper
It actually did get the Cowboy Bebop treatment! I have had this bluray for a while but haven't gotten around to actually using it so I can't give you a personal review.
...what?
None of the rebuilds are available to legally stream, anywhere.
(The rest of this comment only pertains to US releases)
1.11, 2.22, 3.33, are each available on Amazon:
1.11, 2.22, 3.33
You can also find them at Walmart, Best Buy, and Funimation's website, among other places.
In general, RightStuf has some nice deals, or you could try Amazon.
More specifically, here's Bebop for $30. Can't find Blu-Rays of Gankutsuou, but here's a DVD set. Summer Wars is here. Try this for Black Lagoon, but there's also a collector's edition here. Evangelion 2.22 here. Haruhi here, but as a pre-order and at an absurd price.
I can only find Madoka, Perfect Blue, Baccano, Code Geass, and Fate/Zero at prices you probably don't want to pay.

I purchased both 1.11 and 2.22 (these exact ones) from Amazon and they are both are as you describe: 1.11 is metallic and 2.22 has an orange fold-out slipcover with a standard BD case inside.

you
In all seriousness though, Amazon had them on sale not too long ago. It's back to regular price
Your comment just made me realize I have the whole bluray series that I opened once but never used because of Hulu and Amazon. I should probably sell it to someone who would actually use it.
I'm not in Canada so can't confirm myself. That said, the Amazon.ca listing says that it does have french audio, but there are a number of reviews which suggest this is not the case. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B004WJT5H4/
That's a lot of Dragon Ball. Well, actually, that's pretty much all of it since the other "missing" DVDs are actually in your Blu-ray collection. Nicely complete. Looks like in November you and I will both be buying Dragon Ball Z again.
Your submission has been removed for the following reason:
>This topic is addressed in our FAQ. See the link for more details about the different dub versions and soundtracks.
There are many different ways to purchase the anime. While all releases of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT are in their native 4:3 fullscreen aspect ratio, most English releases of Dragon Ball Z were cropped to 16:9 widescreen. All home releases except for the "Dragon Box" and "Rock the Dragon" sets offer three soundtrack options: Japanese with original soundtrack, English dub with original soundtrack, and English dub with Funimation's replacement soundtrack. (There is no Funimation soundtrack for Kai or Super.)
Other releases include:
If you prefer a stream, you can watch the series on several online services including FUNimation. Streams are available subbed or dubbed, but both versions will feature the original Japanese soundtrack.
If you have any questions, see our extended rules. If you believe this removal was made in error, you can appeal to the moderating team.
I belive it has, otherwise there wouldn't be dub. I only found a UK release, however.
If you want to "finally support my favorite series" then there's no way around buying them new. They don't earn a single cent from your used purchase.
The Japanese series Blu-rays don't have english subtitles, only the 3 movies do.
So if you insist on having english subtitles on the Blu-ray then you'll have to get the US or UK version.
The UK version is available cheap as a complete set but it won't work on US players:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Puella-Madoka-Complete-Collection-Blu-ray/dp/B008MJRO6O/
The US version is only available as 3 separate Blu-rays, each twice as expensive as the complete UK version:
http://www.amazon.com/Puella-Magi-Madoka-Magica-Blu-ray/dp/B00771V6OY/
http://www.amazon.com/Puella-Magi-Madoka-Magica-Blu-Ray/dp/B007S0PJTW/
http://www.amazon.com/Puella-Magi-Madoka-Magica-Blu-ray/dp/B0089X92LI/
It's simpler with Rebellion. There's only the Japanese Blu-ray available yet so you only have two decisions to make. Standard or limited and where to purchase from.

Adult Swim has all of the episodes for free on their website. This is Season 1, Episode 9 (season 2 hasn't come out yet).
If you can't view it there, you could get a cheap VPN like Foxy Proxy, pick a US VPN, and then watch it. I actually got a Canadian one for SEO purposes - it's about $7 per month and much, much faster than crappy free ones.

The speculation that the interest in alternate universe coincides with the Amazon TV Show based on PKDicks's Man in the high castle as lefties tend to like scifi, and have Amazon services.
Oddly enough from another 'friend' I also got the alternate universe spiel. It really is a thing.
DEFINITELY check out The Expanse. It's more in the space-opera subgenre of Sci Fi, but we watched the first season in about three days, and then I went and snapped up all the books on Amazon and read them in about three weeks. First season is on Amazon Prime streaming: https://www.amazon.com/The-Expanse-Season-1/dp/B018BZ3UWU
http://www.amazon.com/Dulcinea/dp/B018BZ3UWU/ref=sr_1_1?s=instant-video&ie=UTF8&qid=1453484295&sr=1-1&keywords=the+expanse
All I did was type 'the expanse' in the search bar. Click on additional purchase options as the SD version is cheaper ($17 vs. $25) for the season pass. Or you can buy individual episodes.
this is what I purchased today.

You have an Amazon (U.S.) "Prime" video subscription?
If you're not averse to space-opera sci-fi — and if you won't lose patience with a show that takes a few episodes before it finds its stride — consider binging The Expanse seasons 1 & 2 on Prime. (Note: Season 3, now in progress, is currently a separate purchase, not yet free for Prime subscribers.)
Dude, please don't steal...support the show so we get more content like this in the future. You can buy a season pass from Amazon, and you get the episodes as they are released. Link I'm going to buy the next season myself some time soon.

This video was directed by Spike Jonze-- I think the low quality might be partially a stylistic choice (shot on VHS handicam or something), but this video is included on the Spike Jonze director's series DVD:

Batman: the Animated Series and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes are the two TV box sets that I am the most proud/happy to own. Also, this isn't a TV series, but The Complete Collection of Abbott & Costello is one of the best purchases I ever made.
if you are looking for the entire series here is a good idea - I got this for around $80 at best buy during christmas 2 years ago if you can find it at a store it is usually around $90- $100 and it has every single episode including a ridiculous amount of special features.
I was lucky to snag the 18 DVD complete set before it became unavailable. The four volumes which comprise the series seem to still be available though.
My favorite comic book is Watchmen by Alan Moore. Blurb about myself, I volunteer with marine mammals every week! Mostly California Sea Lions and baby Elephant Seals which prettymuch just look like little stinky brown potatoes.
Item!
In honor of the upcoming season, this would be nice
The Netflick

What? Surely you read the comic? Q_Q
On the plus side, the entire DVD series was released 11 months ago :D
You will need to bit torrent it as they won't release it on DVD, those bastards!
Aparently Shout Factory had been negotiating the rights but have had a hell of a time of it.
There is hope as Amazon just relased The Maxx on a print on demand basis: The Maxx - Complete Series
The cheapest complete series I highly recommend watching is Samurai Champloo. For ~$25, it's a relatively good deal.
Allow me to take the shotgun approach, seeing as how you didn't give us much information about what she likes:
If she likes anime: Totoro is pretty cool or something a little more 'traditional'. Maybe buy her an anime series box set.
If she likes jewelry: Stuff from here or here
If she likes art: This is a great book or perhaps some designer toys? Also, art prints are fantastic too, though you will have to buy the print and frame it (fragile).
If she likes music: Buy her an album that she doesn't own. If she is an audiophile and uses a record player, than buy it in the form of an LP if possible.
Also, it is October and she is in Germany (i.e. Oktoberfest), so if she likes beer then buy her a German stein or something similarly themed.
FLCL $20 , Samurai Champloo $24, Soul Eater $27 ; ) Three others that are complete series.
Amazon is usually the place where I go for international orders. Their prices are pretty good for example Samurai Champloo is only 25 bucks on blu-ray
http://www.amazon.com/Samurai-Champloo-Complete-Series-Blu-ray/dp/B0049TC8C6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346426221&sr=8-1&keywords=samurai+champloo
I really enjoyed Samurai Champloo when my friends were trying to get me into anime. I'm still not into anime, but the theme song to Samaurai Champloo still make me smile. It's a really great story with some kickass music.

Unless there's something I'm missing, Evangelion is on Blu-ray. At least according to the following links: 1.11, 2.22, and 3.33.
It is an animated series called Evangelion 2.2.2
It's Evangelion 2.22. The slip case is so striking, but I wish 1.11 matched.
Amazon.com has the Blu-ray for $20, DVD for $15.
Do yourself the favor and buy it.
Okay, previous reply was pre-edit. There's certainly Atlantis Blu-Ray sets, e.g. at Amazon. Are you shopping somewhere specific?
https://www.amazon.com/Stargate-Atlantis-Complete-Joe-Flanigan/dp/B004WJT5H4
The DVD boxes I have are 16:9 but are definitely SD quality.
FYI its all forty bucks today
There are many different ways to purchase the anime. While all releases of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT are in their native 4:3 fullscreen aspect ratio, most English releases of Dragon Ball Z were cropped to 16:9 widescreen.
Other releases include:
If you prefer a stream, you can watch the series directly from FUNimation..
While i cant say for sure what it is, I can tell you what it is not.
It's Widescreen, so this excludes the Dragon Box and Blu-Ray "Level Sets"(discontinued before finishing) because they are 4:3.
Audio is clearly the "Remaster" or "Funi V2" (post singles release).
If i had to take a guess id say this came from Either the Orange Bricks or the Blu-ray Release
One other possibility is the more obscure "Ultimate Uncut" version which was discontinued before finishing also, however i don't think its this version because it usually comes pared with a unique intro rather then the japanese one.
It shouldn't be to hard to tell if its the Orange Brick version with a little searching, its rather notorious for having bad cropping to fit the widescreen format (the blurays apparently do a more selective and thus better job at this).
This is why most people praise the Dragon Box version and were rather upset that the Level Sets got canceled in favor of the Cropped/Widescreen Blu-Rays.
Not sure why you'd think it'd be nearly that much...

I have this one. It's really nice and indeed much more reasonable. I believe the labels look different, I'll check tomorrow. Amsterdam time tomorrow.
/edit: Disc 2 has a complete different picture as label, disc 3 has the same picture but with other colors (white background).

Madoka magica blu-ray, UK. 20 quid
Regarding Rebellion, I just bought the first of the two links you posted. Haven't watched it yet, but it looks like it will be good. From the description of your other link, that import looks a bit meatier than what I got though.
For the series, I bought a Region B of the series for like 35 bucks from the uk Amazon. It's great, but has no real special features or anything.
Man, just looking over all these fancier, more limited hardcore editions is making me feel like I need to shell out absurd amounts of cash right now
This is pretty awesome! =]
How about Rockos Modern Life the complete series for you and I!
Thanks for the contest!
My Little Pony: Daring Do and the Marked Thief of Marapore Would LOVE to be able to read the books from the show :3
Inside Out I've seen this movie recently and LOVE it! :3
3DS Stylus pack I can never have too many of these-I keep losing the original one I have with my 3DS...
Fluttershy Funko Pop I found out about Funko Pops through this sub and I'd love to have this little cutie to start a collection :3
Rocko's Modern Life complete series It was one of my favorite series when I was a kid and I'd love to see all of the episodes again :3
HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I hope your day gets better. <3
Nobody NEEDS Rocko's Modern Life. But hell, I love it.
Rockos Modern Life and Sith Sticker
I would love both these items because my fiance' has never seen Rockos, and I need more sticker for my car!
Schmad on my add on.
Bought it off Amazon US. Only came out last month.
They are set at a really good price and Shout Factory have been doing an amazing and consistent job with them and their release. Rocko's Modern Life
along with Angry Beavers are the complete sets out right now, with Aaah! Real Monsters coming out in a couple of months. CatDog, Hey Arnold, The Wild Thornberrys have/pretty much finished their individual series runs so a complete series release is imminent. I'm not too sure on a complete Hey Dude release and Rugrats was done as Made on Demand releases, much the same with Doug, so again I'm not too sure the likelihood of them getting full releases.
No, most anime are pretty cheap (like S&W complete :D). Also not sure if this is what you are looking for exactly, but it doesn't seem that expensive on Amazon.
Do you know any of the anime/manga that she's into? Girl-positive content would generally push people towards shoujo manga, but I know some girls prefer manga with bad-ass female leads that aren't obsessed with romance, as in the style of Kill La Kill.
Soul Eater...Blu-ray, complete series in English
Noragami...Blu-ray, season 1 in English
Spice and Wolf...Blu-ray, complete series in English
I'd probably recommend Soul Eater out of the three, cool female protagonist, action similar to the stuff you listed, long series she'll get longevity out of, and it's pretty good to boot. All three I think she'd enjoy though...of course if none of those seem right for her you could go the more conventional route and get her the first few seasons of One Piece since it seems to be universally adored. Hope this helped!
I only ask because there's this version also:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HXEWFWM/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
There is a copy of Spice and Wolf Complete series Used on amazon for $18.99 shipped. Here's the listings only one available.
Just checking as I'm paranoid: you ordered this one and it wasn't region locked when you played it?
Yes, that one, but I ordered it from the US amazon rather than a 3rd party on the UK site, but it shouldn't make a difference, there's only one pressing of the disc at the moment as far as I know.

Daredevil was amazingly well done for a superhero show on Netflix. Also, "Man in the High Castle" is an interesting series about if the Axis powers had won WWII. It's based on Phillip K. Dick's novel of the same name.
Yeah, it turns out my TV had it right up front, rather than the standard version. I wanted to add it to my watchlist from the computer, but since it was featured it didn't matter much. In fact, being on a HDR capable set had everything from Amazon defaulting to the UHD bannered versions. In case you haven't tried fighting this yourself though, observe:
https://www.amazon.com/Man-High-Castle-Season/dp/B00RSGIVVO
vs
https://www.amazon.com/Man-High-Castle-Season-Ultra/dp/B00RZYUJN2
It makes it annoying to do list manipulation on something with a keyboard, but technically doable since the apps know what you can do and pick for you.
Anyway, yes, this show does look amazing in the full HDR glory.
It was released today, I think you'll be impressed. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RSGIVVO/
Amazon moved it to another link. Here now.

The deal with Netflix wasn't exclusive. Amazon already has seasons 1-3 on prime. No need to break contract, or buy-out in this case.

>SyFy doesn't get any money from Netflix, Amazon...
That's just so gloriously wrong.
SyFy is, right or wrongly known for 'Sharknado' and that sort of shite TV. I long ago gave up on them.
Let's break this down.
Just for reference. "The Expanse: Season 2" is $24.99 on Amazon and $29.99 on iTunes... that would be a bit more than '...doesn't get any money from...'
Again none of this takes into account how much the world has changed since FarScape was canceled. Game of Thrones and other shows would have NEVER survived 15 years ago.. hell they would never have been made or given the opportunity.
