Hello hello, concerned wife here. My husband (29m) has been working out during his lunch break at work most days. He doesn't eat breakfast or lunch, but has a protein shake twice during the day, then he'll eat whatever I make for dinner. This is what he takes. Sometimes he'll complain of being so hungry when he gets home, or being light headed, or headaches. I feel that those symptoms are related to his not eating during the day. He insists that he's getting enough calories from the shakes. I'd just like someone else's input on whether he should be eating more than what he is. I don't want him to feel like I'm sabotaging him, I'm just concerned for his safety driving home from work if he's not eating enough during the day.
Thank you!
Why not some Miracle Fruit Tablets. They change the way you taste food for about an hour and its almost guaranteed your SS won't have them.
Everyone should have active charcoal for this very reason. As soon as you eat something questionable or raw like this, pop one or two and you don't have to worry about it anymore. If you take it within 30 minutes you should be ok... After that active charcoal probably won't work. Also works on pets that eat something they shouldn't. So take some random internet strangers advice and add it to your next Amazon purchase.
I was asked by a few people to post this so here we go! Here is the standard recipe for no-bake cookies that I base mine on
So I make some tweaks to this recipe to make it healthier/less sugar which is why people asked for it. First, just as a note, I use creamy peanut butter, not crunchy. I don’t like having chunks of peanuts in mine. Also it says to use a teaspoon of vanilla extract, I think this is too much. The vanilla is very strong and can quickly dominate the entire batch, so I only put a few drops in.
So the two changes I make are using almond milk instead of real milk and substituting sugar with Erythritol. If you wanted to make this recipe vegan, all you would need to do is use Earth Balance or something instead of real butter.
This is the erythritol I started with to test it out. Disclaimer – although this has no effect on the taste, it did make my cookies turn kinda white for some reason. Don’t be surprised if this happens! I use the erythritol exactly like the sugar in the recipe, 1 3/4 cup. I read that erythritol is supposed to be a little weaker than sugar so my first attempt I used 2 cups and the cookies ended up tasting like little sugar bombs, but of course YMMV.
So all said and done I was able to get 31 cookies per batch, coming out at 75 calories each and 1g of sugar per cookie (likely in the peanut butter). The easiest way to get 31 consistent cookies is to use an ice cream scoop to put the cookies on the wax paper. They aren’t huge cookies, but at 75 calories a pop I usually eat two. I personally didn’t log the erythritol in my recipe, since it’s 0 calorie, but if anyone is watching carbs, it is a lot of carbs.
Let me know if anyone makes these or has questions!

Source Natural: Life Force Multiple has a very good review from herman_gill over at /r/supplements. I've been taking it now for a couple of weeks and definitely notice more energy.
I bought it from Amazon, but I didn't really shop around.
Here is a link to a study and comparison of many different multivitamins. The real info starts on page four.
Supplement for a week and get your b12 levels checked again. Just to check in case there is a problem with you being able to actually absorb b12.
I take this supplement daily and defo recommend it;
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Garden-Life-Organics-Methylcobalamin-Raspberry/dp/B00K5NEPJY/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1484327538&sr=8-1&keywords=garden+of+life+b12
Best of luck, i'm sure you'll be fine just make sure you supplement.
I use activated charcoal. Take about 4 pills just after you start drinking and then another 4 halfway through the night. I’ve never woken up with a hangover after taking it. Just be warned, if you drink enough that you puke, it’s going to be black, and your shit will be almost black for a couple of days.

Very cheap forms of vitamins that are very poorly absorbed by the body. Don't feel to bad though, Optimen was my first multi and I took it for a year when I was younger without realizing it was shit. It's on par with the shit multis they sell at walmart basically. Fear not for I know of very good multis for basically the same price. But depending on your activity life.
For an overall very good (one of the best you can get actually) multi, that's very balanced with superior forms of each vitamin, source naturals life force is the best bang for you buck, basically the same price as Optimen. https://www.amazon.com/Source-Naturals-Multiple-Activator-Capsules/dp/B000GFPD0G/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1497074875&sr=8-1&keywords=source+naturals+life+force
If you're a hardcore lifter, and/or you experience discomforts in joints or recovery, controlled labs Orange Triad is the best in this aspect because it also has very good forms of vitamins, BUT, it includes a joint/flex complex in it that would cost 45$ alone by itself at a CVS. And you get a 45 day supply for 28$, basically like a few dollars more then optimen or source naturals. I'm taking it right now and have for the past 3-4 years. I haven't experienced any joint pain during this time, amazing multi I would say. https://www.amazon.com/Controlled-Labs-Orange-Triad-Multivitamin/dp/B00104I5TS/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1497086164&sr=1-1&keywords=orange%2Btriad&th=1
Now Foods Adam Multi is also pretty damn good for the price if you want something cheaper then all of those. https://www.amazon.com/NOW-Adam-Superior-Multi-Softgels/dp/B003ENHSI2/ref=sr_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1497075275&sr=8-5&keywords=anavite&th=1
If you have any other questions of supplements you take or concerns just let me know. I've studied supplements and other nutrition info for years now.
Source Naturals Life Force seem to be popular. That's what I take.
It's actually an incredibly good read, but if you want a tl;dr, this is probably the easiest approach:

Oh my god, this stuff is amazing. You can actually buy these in pill form (totally legal) online, if you don't want to cultivate them yourself/can't find them locally.
Me and my friends went flavour-tripping one day. We took one miracle berry fruit pill each, then ate and drank everything from lemon, white vinegar, oranges, limes, sour skittles, beer and any other bitter/sour food we could get our hands on. Doesn't last long, but it was great fun. The lemon, lime and orange were super sweet, the white vinegar tasted like apple juice and the beer was unreal.

Amazon has them on sale, if you're ever keen to try it.
fanny pack ; buff ; hydration tablets ; knock-off camebak
Get some of these NUUN electrolyte tablets. Proper hydration will go a long way to keep you energized late into the evening. Also, they make kinds that have a small amount of caffeine (about 40 mg) if you want a little extra boost. https://www.amazon.com/Nuun-Hydration-Electrolyte-Essential-Electrolytes/dp/B019GU4ILQ?th=1
D3 is generally better than D2 at raising blood levels of D but D2 is still effective, especially at the dosing you are taking.
50,000 IU is definitely a 'doctor prescribed' dosing and is likely just to get your levels back into a good range quickly. Most people take 1000-5000 IU per day as a maintenance dose. Once the D2 runs out just go grab a reliable brand of D3 (I like Doctors Best) and take that once a day with a meal containing fat (fat helps your body absorb the D).
I'm gonna rant at HOW EXPENSIVE is to buy protein powder in my country.
I love Isopure's, in the US it cost $40 but the same size in my country is $100. If I buy it online, just the shipping and handling for customs will cost me more, plus the tax for importing foods. Next trip to the US, I will try to smuggle a few pounds through the airport.
Found this browsing /r/all.
I was in a similar boat to you: sex with someone new was a mix of excitement, slight fear stemming from performance anxiety, and simply nervousness. I'm sure you can relate to the feelings of emasculation when a man can't be a "man" - we all know it's embarrassing to say the least!
I take adderall, which gives me a permanent dopamine boost all day, followed by a seemingly permanent deficiency at the end of the day and beyond; in addition, I'm exist in a state of "fight or flight" because of how adderall interacts with your systems and pumps adrenaline, always. My libido was absolutely shot and I had similar problems to you. I was getting pretty desperate. I tried a lot of stuff, did a lot of research, tried more things, but ultimately, most, if not all, of it went no where.
I found some forums after entering [ +"adderall" +"libido loss"] into Google (without the [ ]) and found a wealth of information after sorting through the shit. I'd searched before, had varied success, but this time was different - I took the time to dig, research, find, and learn!
Often users of prescription meds like adderall, opiates, or anti-depressants find that libido destruction is a primary side effect, an exceedingly common one; the good news, however, is that loads of dudes are fed up having the same problems and have taken their issues into their own hands - they guinea pigged their bodies, desperate for resolution! These dudes are basically martyrs, so bless them for their diligence and hard work!
The solutions I found were interesting.
I learned that people often take some combination of the following pills; for me, however, I just bought them all and have experimented with doses, frequency, and combinations.
Adderall also plays with my blood pressure and, with everything else, namely adrenaline, my extremities aren't getting the proper blood flow; since taking these supplements, I now wake up with erections again --something I didn't realize had stopped happening!-- and have erections hard enough to club a seal to death with.
These have been an absolute god-send for me.
If you don't happen to read this, then I hope this helps someone else.
I'm house-sitting for my parents tonight so…
Party at my place
I have these, so bring some lemons and shit.
I mentioned it in the hat thread a while ago, but since I posted here about it originally I'll update:
That wool poncho my grandmother was making has been finished for a while, and it's great.
Like I told /u/JammySTB it'll change your life. I just wander around my house in boxers and my poncho now, I quite literally live in it. It's like having that blanket with arm holes you always wanted.
It's kinda like a respectable snuggie.
*not hating on snuggies, don't want to offend /r/rawdenim's snuggers
Also, I'm getting into old samurai cinema, what should I watch?
> charcoal where it might actually cure something in a therapeutic dose?
First, charcoal does not 'cure' anything, it is sometimes used to bind poisons while they are still in the digestive tract. Second, the amount of activated charcoal in homeopathic medicines does not even come close to being a therapeutic dose, even pure activated charcoal 'supplements' do not even come close. The top hit on an amazon search have capsules with a paltry 560 milligrams, in a bottle of 100. In emergent poisonings the adult dose is 50 to 100 grams of activated charcoal, followed by 2 to 3 more doses of 25 to 50 grams each, you may use as much as 300 grams. The amount in homeopathic "medicines" is several orders of magnitude less than the therapeutic dose. A double of well aged bourbon probably has more charcoal than what you get from a homeopath.
If that wasn't just a panic attack, it's probably because you took A LOT of methylB12 (5mg) and methyl folate (800 mcg).
I like the B-Right B-Complex from Jarrow. According to the nutrition label it has:
Now, Daily Value isn't necessarily the threshold, but you took 50 times the amount of methylB12 as is in that supplement, which is 83,500% of your Daily Value.
Marshmallows are so delicious but the kinds you find at the grocery store are PACKED with sugar and carbs. Store-bought marshmallows such as Kraft Jet-Puffed have a whopping 24 grams of carbs and 17 grams of sugar per serving. Those marshmallows would blow your blood sugar through the roof!
This awesome recipe though has no sugar and 0g net carbs. Plus it only uses five ingredients. Check it out below with more details and tips at the source link

I didn't even know what pre-cum was before the internet because my body never produced it and its not something you generally are exposed to unless you're half-a-fag. I went from not even precumming to having my dick drip like a faucet with pygeum.
Buy these, put about 16 or so drops in a gallon and let the milk sit overnight. Voila! No more lactose. My wife is lactose intolerant and these have saved us so much money from not having to buy lactose free milk.

If you goal is to do a frugal keto, then OMAD (one meal a day) is probably your best bet. My plan isn’t exactly OMAD because the BPC is pretty calorie heavy, but it satiates me and holds me over through lunch/dinner.
Breakfast: BPC (Bulletproof Coffee). I use 2 Tbsp of unsalted Kerrygold and 2 Tbsp of MCT oil (you can sub coconut oil for the MCT). I use this brand of MCT.
Approximately 53g of fat, 460 calories.
This leave all of my protein and around 50g of fat for late lunch/early dinner. This can be varied: grilled chicken with an avocado. Steak and broccoli with cheese. Fish and asparagus, etc. The key for me is the BPC in the morning as it holds me over throughout the day. Also remember to drink A LOT of water as keto will cause you to lose a lot of water weight. I also drink an apple cider vinegar drink a couple of times a day to curb hunger/cravings. Just a Tbsp of ACV with a Tbsp of lemon juice in a full glass of water with a few drops of stevia.
Hope that helps! Oh and buy almond flour at Costco, the Kirkland brand is really good! And check out /r/kerorecipes for meal ideas!
Here, I can save you some money.

Yep.
The first rule to remember: Muscles are made in the gym, but revealed in the kitchen.
Let's assume you have exercise covered. What about diet? That is where a lot of people struggle. They go on a diet instead of making a change to their diet. That seems subtle, but it is an important hair to split.
If you haven't seen it, /r/keto is very popular right now as a way to get lean without necessarily getting mean. You aren't going to starve yourself, go on a juice cleanse, or only have unpleasant meals ahead for the foreseeable future. This is where you reboot your diet looking to get rid of empty sugar and loads of unneeded carbs.
Start by taking an inventory of what you eat for the day. You aren't going to be focused on the calories. Those will come later. For now, we only want to look at serving size, sugar, and total net carbs. You can look on the back of your favorite snacks to get an idea of it. Serving size is always important because some will try to be sketchy by placing 1/3oz or 1/3 container on the package. Unrealistically small portion sizes don't help us.
If you're like most people, you likely consume between 40 and 100+ carbs for every snack. In some cases, people are consuming hundreds of carbs per meal every day. That can be cut by 95% or more without struggling to find something to eat. It is even easier if you cook at home.
For breakfast, a low carb biscuit or low carb muffin could go with eggs, bacon, or other proteins. With sugar free syrup or jam/jelly, that is an on the go low carb breakfast that most won't mind.
For lunch, a low carb sandwich (low calorie bread is usually low carb!) is easy by checking your local grocery. Breads that advertise low calorie cut the sugar used in the recipe among other changes to reduce the carbs. You could cut 20-25g per slice down to 7g or lower.
For dinner, BBQ with sugar free sauces, have seafood with reduced sugar ketchup/cocktail sauce, or whatever you can dream up.
For dessert, sugar free chocolate syrup on top of no sugar added ice cream, whipped topping, strawberries, or even cheesecake made with low carb pie crust. By using real rare sugars instead of chemical sweeteners, you get better products that taste like their traditional counterparts. Allulose and Erythritol are a good place to start.
At this point, we will assume you have worked to cut your sugar intake down from hundreds of carbs per day to less than 20 - 40. After a few weeks of this, off the shelf processed savory foods with added sugar will taste overly sweet. That is how you know you're on the right track.
Once on keto (or very, very low carb), your body will be burning fat calories day by day. /r/fitness will have more on this idea, but it goes something like this:
Calculate your total daily energy expenditure, reduce your calories by a comfortable amount while maintaining strict watch on carbs (as few as possible!), and calculate the daily loss. If you're down 300 per day, you'll lose about 1 pound per week. That is some very solid progress that you can maintain over time.
If you have any questions, we're here to help. Otherwise, good luck OP. You can do it. reddit is here to help.
Try taking theanine along with your coffee. It's an extract from green tea leaves that helps promote relaxation. That's why a cup of green tea, while caffeinated, won't make you as jittery as a cup of coffee.
Caffeine & theanine is a very popular nootropic stack; while you get the energy boost from caffeine, the theanine helps reduce or offset any negative effects like jitters, increased heart rate, or anxiety. Typically people take 200mg theanine for everyone 100mg caffeine (average amount in a cup of coffee)
If the energy boost is why you're drinking coffee, there's also an alternative called NeuroGum. I've found it helpful when trying to cycle off caffeine since it's in smaller doses (40mg caffeine & 60mg theanine)
There actually are a number of vegan EPA/DHA combined supplements:
Name|Approx cost per serving|DHA|EPA
-|-|-|-
Deva DHA & EPA|$0.22|120-140mg|60-80mg
Ovega-3 DHA EPA|$0.32|320mg|130mg
Opti3 EPA & DHA|$0.66 †|400mg|200mg
Ovega-3 seems like the best deal at the moment unless you really want EPA.
† If you take their 3 for 2 offer, otherwise it's $29.99 rather than $19.99 per bottle.
Two and a half pounds and free shipping with prime
This is amazing, I am so glad you are starting your journey to becoming vegan. My best suggestion is using cronometer.com to track your food for a good portion of time in order for you to get a handle on what foods have what properties and nutrients you need from them. Vegan diets can easily cover all your nutrients, I get all of the FDA's recommended doses of micronutrients daily and almost double their recommended protein amount. Here is a quick rundown of nutrients and vegan foods that are abundant in them
Macronutrients:
You will meet all your macro-nutrient needs eating 2100 calories of any variety of foods. (eat and don't eat only fruit or drink oil for your calories, super easy)
Micronutrients: (These are only the ones some lack on a vegan diet, take in consideration that less then 1% of the world eats all of their proper micro-nutrients and eating more vegetables and beans almost always makes people get more)
Omega 3's are the most challenging to get at the start of a vegan diet, basically you add in a tablespoon of chia seeds or flax seeds to your diet daily and it covers you or you take an algae based supplement. Omega 3 is not a necessary nutrient but it does greatly help you.
In short eat a few servings of grains, beans, fruit, green veg, nut milk, nuts, and seeds and you got it covered. Two servings of each daily will likely cover all your nutritional needs.
Edit: I suck at formatting
Ps. Also when doing your method I highly suggest doing the simple things on top of the x number of days a week you are vegan. By this I mean using plant milk instead of normal, and trying to have almost identical vegan products like chao instead of cheddar, and gardein and beyond beef instead of meats. The products I mentioned are best known for their phenomenal ability to replicate the original.
Sounds like this person lacks intrinsic factor. The only way to GET b12 with someone who has pernicious anemia is by INJECTIONS. Not rectal injections just has to be intramuscular.
These are all notes from my hematology class.
Total body content of b12 is 5 mg.
minimal daily requirement is 1-3 MICROGRAMS.
The avg daily diet in western countries supplies 5-30 ug, of which 1-5 is absorbed.

This is the kind I take, and my b12 was nearly over the reference range even after a month of not taking it.
A few thoughts:
I buy these nuun tablets which are for rehydration. It's just electrolytes and it's sweetened with stevia and like 1 gram of sugar. It's a little on the expensive side but they're easy, have good ingredients and honestly taste really good. Just make sure you get the new formula, cause the old formula which they still sell has artificial ingredients. You should also put concentrace (trace minerals) in all your water. One bottle of that will last a very long time.
Also there's medication you can take to increase blood volume if you need to do that. Of course you have to do that with a doctor.
Piperine, found in simple black pepper, increases absorbion of curcumin by 2000%
I like it, its good for inflammation and hsd other long term promising health benefits.
I take it every day. Here's the one I get: Turmeric Curcumin with Bioperine 1500mg https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DBTFO98?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
Okay, I've been product free in the bathroom for nearly a year now. Here's what i do!
I wash my hair with water first. Then if you are still oily scrub a bit with some Dr. Bronners castile soap. I also use Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar mixed 1/3 with distilled water. If I feel fancy I will steep some chamomile or other teas with the water for some added herbal goodness! The pungent scent of the ACV doesn't stick. So after you have dried off you won't smell terrible. Just search around on google and on r/naturalbeauty to find more information on all of this.
I brush with some baking soda from Mountain Rose Herbs and I sprinkle some Activated Charcoal on top of that. Oh and I use Tom's deodorant. Its the only antiperspirant that I've found that works for me. There are also organic options for perfume as well in roll on, spray, or bar scented oils.
Instead of using face cleansers/ pads I use something called the Oil Cleansing Method. It has done WONDERS for my acne. I used to be on on Accutane in high school and it hasn't really improved. You make an oil mixture and just rub it on your face for around 5 mins until you can feel the gunk coming out. Then set a warm, wet washcloth over your face until it cools. Wipe all of the oil off and your good to go! I used ACV afterwards if I need to tone my skin. You can also use this oil mixture as a moisturizer. Grapeseed is a great oil for this because when it dries it doesn't leave your skin looking oily. Essential oils are great for the OCM but not necessary. Tea tree is great with acne, I put a few drops in my palm with my oil before doing the OCM.
The best part about all of these items (ACV, Charcoal, etc) is that they can be used in many ways outside of the bathroom! Including cleaning and personal health.
Just check out r/naturalbeauty its more orientated towards women, but anyone looking to have a natural bathroom regimen could learn a thing or two. All of this sounds crazy to most people, I knowww. But if you have any questions just ask :)
Meal frequency does not matter. If he wants to eat one or two meals a day, that is okay. What matters is that he is getting enough nutrients(vitamins, minerals, protein, calories) When the body does not get enough food, it slows down the metabolism. Go to the doctor ask for blood work for testosterone/thyroid/Vitamin D. At his age, either could be suboptimal for his health. Getting a sluggish thyroid optimized will make a huge difference in energy levels, same as testosterone. Optimally, you would want his testosterone over 700 ng/dl and his TSH(thyroid stimulating hormone) under <3. If you get his blood work and let me see it, i will tell you what i think. He needs to incorporate more animal protein into his diet. Amino acids found in food are essential for every single process in your body. Neurotransimitters like dopamine and serotonin(happy hormones) need amino acids to function properly. People underestimate the importance of dietary protein.
These are the two multivitamins i recommend because they contain the best, most bioavailable forms of vitamins and minerals. They are not expensive and are of really good quality. It is possible that your husband's multivitamin switched it's formulation to an inferior product. You can try these, but get that blood work done. It is very important, low testosterone and hypothyroidism will deteriorate his health as he ages. :

I use that. It says to take 4-6 per day, i take 2. If your diet is in check whatever you buy, take 1/2 of what they recommend and save some $$.
I use this caffeine and this l-theanine. Couldn't say if they're the best on Amazon, but they work well for me and are well-priced.
jarrow, thorne, source naturals are all very good. NOW is decent. I try other brands on occasion based on amazon reviews and my own research of ingredients.
your vitamin c should be food-based, not ascorbic acid. good vitamin c isn't cheap, but it's worth it. ascorbic acid is nasty stuff.

Hiiiiiiii.
I’ve been on 50,000IU/weekly + prenatal with Vitamin D since cycle 6; 500 mg of Vitamin C since cycle 7; and a B-complex since cycle 10. Here are my stats!
Cycles 10-12: 13 days • Cycle 9: 12 days • Cycle 8: 11 days* (NSAID cycle) • Cycle 7: 13 days • Cycles 1-6: 12 days.
Edit: 5DPO cramps are pretty common and don’t always mean your period is coming immediately. An LP that short would be something that would probably require a doctor’s intervention rather than OTC supplementation to address.
Well geepers, you gotta at least be gettin' your B12's.
Get these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002FJW3ZY
And start takin' one a day until it's out, then you'll probably be back to normal levels. Afterwards find and take 250mcg ones every day, or 2500mcg ones once a week.
In addition, you should probably pick up some of these:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004LL7AXE
and these:

If you're actually serious about worrying about malnutrition, I don't think you have to worry about that with modern corn. But if you really want to make sure, just take one of these after dinner.
For fucks sake. This is not true. An entire cooked rotiserie chicken costs $5 at the grocery store. Get a pouch of frozen veggies for $2. $7 just fed dinner to a family of 4. Get meats on manager special. Buy day old bread. Frozen veggies are dirt cheap. A pasta portion can be had for pennies. Literally. I just bought a box of pasta that will last me 3 meals for $1 and at 205lbs I eat big portions. Beans are super cheap. Lentils. Rice. All dirt cheap and easily made into healthy meals. If you think you aren't getting the right vitamins and such, buy some vitamins. That's 6 months worth of vitamins for a family of 4 for $17.
The problem isn't cost. It's time. Either the parent(s) work too much to take 20 minutes to prepare a meal or the parents are too lazy to take that 20 minutes so they go to McDonalds.
My husband is lactose intolerant and buying Lactaid is at least 2x more expensive than regular milk.
To cut down on costs, we add lactase to normal dairy products such as milk, cream, and evaporated milk. We also make lots of food from scratch, such as bread and ice cream.
I'm not sure about smoking it, but if you ate it, you can eat activated charcoal:
Activated Charcoal Pills - Just in case...
I've been using the Mio Electrolytes water enhancer or theConcentrace Trace Minerals Drops.
Also drinking water that has minerals can help as well, such as SmartWater.

Yep…
I use this particular combination of Jarrow supplements (some others not listed as well):
https://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Methyl-Supports-Cardiovascular/dp/B015XYNSVK/
Previously used Deplin (as prescribed). Jarrow is much cheaper as health insurance (in the US) doesn't cover "medical foods" /sigh.
https://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-B-right-Supports-Cardiovascular/dp/B0016003Z0/
Note this this formula includes 400mcg of Jarrow's Quatrefolic so it might be an option to consider compared to this one which /u/Entropy-Reigns mentioned.

FWIW, I had one doctor who tested directly for C677T but also did 23andMe (v2/v3) previously. Using http://geneticgenie.org and https://promethease.com to analyze the RAW data from 23andMe is one option for those looking to check without much fuss.
Also worth noting 23andMe's blog post about MTHFR:

I take one of these every other day, and that covers my requirements afaik.
> You can always take vitamins and supplements but honestly why bother when you can just eat?
Because it causes suffering and death to sentient beings.
Animal agriculture has also a huge environmental negative impact.
Taking a 6 cent B12 pill each day seems to be a more than reasonable price to pay to reduce the suffering and environmental damage one causes.
I understand. There are B12 lozenges that dissolve in the mouth. The B12 is absorbed mostly sublingual and not only in the intestines. Hope that helps.

Make your own!
The recipe I use is:
Directions: mix well, chill, garnish with nutmeg immediately before serving
The bourbon is optional, but helps with the shelf life and food safety concerns of raw eggs. This article has a good discussion (and is where I stole the recipe from, before I changed it slightly): https://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-make-homemade-eggnog-cooking-lessons-from-the-kitchn-214298
If you have issues with eggs, take 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp of baking soda dissolved in a large cup of water at the same time as eating the eggs, and it'll help (baking soda absorbs hydrogen sulfide, the smelly gas I make when I eat eggs).

As a fellow (I assume) lactose intolerant, did you know you can make your own lactose free milk without breaking the bank? Just buy regular milk and some of these bad boys drop them into the milk, shake and leave it in the fridge for a few hours. Now you've got your own LACTOSE FREE MILK BABY - and if you've got a sweet tooth it's great too because by breaking down the lactose for ya, your tongue gets a chance at some of those sweet broken down sugars which everyone else just gets in their stomach. One bottle of that shit will DELACTIFY about "52 pints" (oh America, when will you stop using your silly made up measurements) of milk! Way cheaper than some of the ridiculous prices I've seen on lactose free milk in stores.
Keep them B O N E S strong!
I order my groceries through FreshDirect so technically I get 90% of my stuff online :).
That being said...the stuff I get outside of that site are:

Hey there, awesome!!
I have some spirulina powder that I occasionally put in a smoothie or something, but I don't use it that often.
I have some advice that I wrote up for a guy asking for tips on being vegan yesterday, hope it's ok if I copy and paste:

Some of my tips:
I recommend B12 in general, but this is the one I use personally.

Edit: I've had bloodwork done since I started using it and my B12 is normal.
Here's the link to the oil I use on Amazon.

This is what I use.
Just realized I didn't answer your scale question.
I use this scale:

You can increase the amount of iron you get through diet in a number of ways, by eating iron and Vitamin C rich foods together, avoiding oxalate-rich foods (Dark leafy greens are very healthy and contain some iron, but they also contain oxalate which can lower iron absorption. However, cooking them lowers the oxalate content, so if you're using things like spinach, collard greens, kale, etc., have them at a separate meal or cook them well), cooking in cast iron, or using a lucky iron fish.

Some recipe ideas are in the links, but:
> and her vitamin D is low
Vitamin D deficiency is surprisingly common (among vegans and non-vegans), especially since so many people spend so much time indoors nowadays. Luckily, there are Vitamin D fortified foods like plant milks, and vegan Vitamin D supplements (even Vitamin D3, the form which may be absorbed better). After taking a higher dose for a few weeks, she should get another blood test to see if it's been effective.
Here's much more comprehensive information on vegan Vitamin D supplementation, if you're interested.
Garden of Life B12 Vitamin - mykind Organic Whole Food B-12 for Metabolism and Energy, Raspberry, 2oz Liquid https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K5NEPJY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_yc26BbHFM8PA8
I use this and it’s raspberry and tastes great
The one that I use is 8000% and it is recommended to spray daily. One of the reason's it is so high is because our bodies suck at absorbing B-12 from any source. https://www.amazon.com/Garden-Life-B12-Vitamin-Metabolism/dp/B00K5NEPJY
The 50,000% one is probably a weekly dose. I think next time I buy one I will probably do a weekly one since it's more convenient.
Even if your body absorbs more than 100% that it needs, scientific studies have not found any upper limits for B-12 or any negative effects of getting too much.
I get mine on Amazon but you can get it from GNC, Vitamin Shoppe or any health store:

89/72 here, I don't know really when to stop. 5lbs lost.
Heartburn has stop. But I'm still dealing with kind of a diarrhea. Super liquid yellow/brown stuff. I'm afraid I'm having imbalanced electrolytes one way or another.... I don't know. I've read here and there that it's normal, but I would feel more comfortable if this was over...
I'm usually taking 4-8 teaspoon of this stuff a day (depends of exercises during the day). Is it too much ?
edit : I'm realising it is low on sodium, so maybe I should have some pink salt.

If you don't already I highly reccomend you look Into L-theanine in addition to your caffeine.
It's a naturally occurring amino acid found In tea, but you can buy it separately in powder or capsule form.
It gives you benefits of caffeine but takes away a lot of the not always pleasant effects of caffeine.
http://www.amazon.com/Now-Foods-L-Theanine-Veg-Capsules-60-Count/dp/B000H7P9M0
Btw, how about those coffee poops?
There's a supplement called l-theanine that is shown to improve cognitive performance when combined with caffeine. It also seems to reduce the jitters and blood pressure changes that come with caffeine.
I take it daily about 30 minutes before I drink my coffee and I swear there's a difference.
Fucking lowlives. Sorry your mom got scammed. These are just general supplements that won't really do anything compared to a healthy diet. I wouldn't recommend buying them all. Maybe a multivitamin and fish oil, or a b-vitamin if she doesn't eat meat. Otherwise, they're likely a waste of money.
Here are some supplements I've taken that look like basically the same thing, though I don't see Amway's nutritional facts (with the list of ingredients) so I just have to go by the marketing nonsense on their site to guess at what all is in each.
Also, /r/supplements is great for questions like this.
I put a tablespoon or so of great lakes grass fed gelatin in my coffee. thickens it a little bit especially as it cools, but otherwise doesn't change the taste or anything else.
It is a bit more expensive which is why many of the mass distributors use it instead.
Here is the cheapest one I found on Amazon. I have a bottle set to come in my S&S order: https://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Methylcobalamin-Supports-Lozenges/dp/B002FJW3ZY/
Exactly! From the beginning of this I have said that it NEVER hurts to be ready for the worst. Where I live we get a lot of earth quakes and I am sure within my life we'll get a nasty one. Our building codes are VERY strict and I don't fear that my place will tip over, but the power grid in the US is VERY old and in need of repair badly.
We lost power out here two years ago over about 2 days and people were freaked out. What happens when something really bad happens and it's a week or two weeks with no power, no gas, the food starts dwindling and people are running around like crazy trying to get food to eat.
I'll have my MRE's not the best food in the world, but damn I won't starve to death. I think about prepping hardly ever and I need to get my self re situated and make sure I have everything back together again. I even made a list here for people who were new to prepping. My list is far from a complete list of things one would like to have, but it has the essentials.

The fact of the matter is that the subreddit for the most part seems to be under the illusion that if you don't live in West Africa you are 100% safe, which is a dangerous thought to have.
As /u/snorgsniffer said yesterday
>When confronted with dire circumstances beyond their control, humans predictably engage in one of the following behaviors:
> Denial
> Delusion
> Distraction
> Dismissal
> * Drugs / Drink (altered state of consciousness)
>All of those things result in still another "D"... delay
It's clear that both the victims and potential responders are engaging in "D behaviors" at this time.
>My point? It is almost impossible to change someone's mind using logical argument when their conclusion is an irrational, emotional one. They just burrow deeper into their chosen coping behavior when forced to look even more closely at the thing which frightened them so badly in the first place.
>Though not directly news related, I think understanding the psychological underpinnings of the outbreak is important when interpreting the nuts & bolts side of it. This sub seems to me like a good place to see it discussed. There are some really bright people here.
A lot of people are giving voice to their coping mechanisms of denial to make themselves feel better. I don't think their attitude will change until the numbers reach upwards of 50,000 and the people start fleeing and spreading this crap all over the globe.
I take this.
Fairly cheap, only requires one pill a day. The only downfall is its a little bit big, but not nearly as big as all the people are crying about in the reviews. :)
I take these. I know that because the capsules are going through the stomach, a majority of the pill probiotics get killed off, but I notice a difference when I take them vs. when I don't. Whether it's psychosomatic or not, I like 'em.
I sometimes make my own yogurt with starters from these guys. I used to be on top of the yogurt every two weeks, but it's more like every two months now.
I had the same issue and these help a lot. I take one a day on an empty stomach.

https://www.amazon.com/Now-Foods-Sunflower-Soft-gels-200-Count/dp/B003BHZ71G
I just ordered these from Amazon. I saw them recommended on r/breastfeeding. I just take one a day along with my prenatal vitamin.
[Sunflower Leicethin] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003BHZ71G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_uyWxzbA7RR1J5) is awesome. I had thrush and a clogged duct once, lactation consultant recommended this and I went three months without a problem, forgot to take it for a week and started to feel a clogged duct coming on. Took it, massaged/heated it and it went away. It lubricates your ducts so the fatty deposits don't get stuck as easily. It's also amazing for your skin, so that's a bonus! Downside, the pills are huge, but they're not too bad to take. You can also break them down to eat on applesauce or something, but I'm not sure how tasty it would be. Good luck!
check out this on Amazon: lactase drops. says you can add a few drops to a gallon of milk and it'll be 'lactose-free' in 24 hours. I've not tried it personally, but the reviews look good. I imagine it's the same as edible lactase, maybe more.. concentrated?
Buy regular milk and use these drops to make it lactose free. In the long run it ends up being cheaper because regular milk is so cheap lately. RIP milk farmers. Still is sweeter but to me tastes more like milk than some of the other lactose free options.
You will have to experiment but I use 1.25-1.5 droppers full in a gallon.

ALA to EPA conversion is efficient enough, provided an appropriate n-3:n-6 PUFA ratio is practiced (1:1 or 1:3 or 1:6), and assuming desaturase enzymes aren't disrupted by genetics, age, or health problems.
EPA to DHA conversion cannot be measured as easily. While both EPA and DHA are measured in circulating blood levels, DHA is much more volatile and thus synthesized in controlled environments, like retina and brain membranes, where it isn't easy to measure. Moreover, there's no need for DHA to be circulating in blood, because it would just get exposed to oxidative free radicals.
This is especially important for vegans (not consuming any animal products), because EPA and DHA are super important for brain and blood health (here's a long presentation about it), but even non-vegans could benefit from supplementing from a non-toxic source, like micro-algae.
Edit: another important factor I forgot to mention is gender! High testosterone/low estrogen downregulates PUFA conversion, while low testosterone/high estrogen upregulates it. This means that females are better at converting plant fats!
A few tips, use the Untapped app to find beer. I just did a search for New Grist in Lincoln Nebraska and there was a liquor store called The Still that said they had it. Not sure where you are, but Untapped may be of assistance.
Have you figured out her tolereance? My wife has celiac and she is able to drink a few Modelo Especials or corona’s without issue. They have low ppm of gluten. If your wife is ultra sensitive, then she would likely have an issue. This list is decent to judge.

My current lineup:
Morning dose of Vitamins C & D, MSM, BCAAs (branched chain amino acids, I think?), L-Lysine, L-Serine, and electrolyte drops - also 24hr zyrtec (I get hives pretty easy); recently started CoQ10 as my heart is doing flippy things on a regular basis. (I have everything but the CoQ10 & Zyrtec in powder form, so I do it all in one glass in the morning with an Emergen-C packet - though it's pretty easy to DIY if you get Vit C powder and mix it with raspberry/lemon/whatever fruity powders are out there, I don't remember the ratio off the top of my head, but there are a number of sites with the info and powder suggestions; I'll be doing that after I kill this box. This may affect the absorption of some of it, but I eat a healthy diet and pretty much take this stuff for extra bonus doses, not like my body depends on every gram. I've also been too lazy to do the research on what should be taken when/with what other stuff, like the fish oil mentioned by someone else)
CBD for pain relief (lotion/oils, recently tried a local infused honey, but the first topical applications are definitely awesome for more immediate relief due to the arnica and mints as well; haven't noticed if the honey is super beneficial or not, but it tastes awesome). If you're against the CBD stuff, there's stuff out there with just the arnica/mints in it - give that a shot. It's no miracle, but it'll take the edge off most days.
At night I just do another dose of electrolytes (I split the daily dose in half, more or less. Sometimes I'll do a few more drops in the middle of the day if I'm doing something a bit more intensive than my usual day).
Depending on your mouth pain (sores/bumps/tissue damage/inflammation?) the Lysine might be a good bet - it's an amino acid that's pretty key in repairing/maintaining mouth tissue - and your body doesn't make it.
MSM isn't a miracle for pain relief for me, but I do feel looser when I skip my doses for sure. (Man, what's wrong with me these last few days? Oh. I forgot my MSM.)
Apparently Vit C is pretty crucial for bone/collagen formation.
Absolutely none of this is done with a doctor's orders or knowledge (yay not being insured for 6 years, still waiting on finding my new PCP now that I am) so consult yours if you've got one and all.
Also, massage therapy has helped me tons. If you can combo that with a chiropractor, I highly recommend giving them a shot - I'll file that under "supplements" :D
On that note, I also had pretty bad gum problems until I got a Sonicare and started flossing regularly/using a GUM thingy (which is pretty uncomfortable some days, but I still try to) - not suggesting you don't or anything, just my experience. Plus the Sonicare took a lot of the effort from my hands/wrists/shoulders from conventional tooth brushing, resulting in less pain.
I'm also gluten, soy, dairy and egg-free as far as diet goes - tested positive for allergies to the proteins/sugars and I try to stay pretty strict with it. Tummy trouble on top of joint trouble is no fun, plus I've read that gluten and dairy can be rather inflammatory.
Sorry you're having a rough day. Many hugs, if you'd like them <3
Edited to say, DEFINITELY Epsom Salt baths if you can do the bath thing. If not, you can salt a wet hand towel, roll it up and use it like a compress on whatever body part you'd like to target.
This is what I typically use but I also used this on a rim to rim up at the Grand Canyon a few years back.
There may be better products out there but this just happens to be the brand I'm familiar with.
Interesting. My question on fatty foods might revolve more around putting coconut oil in coffee or even grass fed butter (if you're the adventurous type haha).
Is the gatorade for electrolytes? You could always put trace mineral salts in your water if you don't like consuming that much sugar.
Regardless, it sounds like you have an awful go of things and I wish you the best.
I put trace minerals in my water and coffee.
When I workout and forget to drink this stuff is when I get sore. Been using this stuff for three years now. It's my supplement when I don't eat enough whole foods that month or are traveling. I don't tend to need supplements anymore.
Other than the trace stuff, I'll supplement with a multi when I know I've been really eating the junk food. Usually during holidays or again traveling. :)
I have the same container. Here's what I did. I washed mine out with dishsoap and rinsed THOROUGHLY. I filled mine with Reverse Osmosis (RO) water which I have under the kitchen sink. (Note: I live on well water, not public supplied). It took a few days to fill but that was fine. I also added a teaspoon of bleach to it to kill off any bacteria that may have made it's way through the RO system, or was still in the container. Yeah I added a teaspoon to 7 gallons of RO water when it is recommended to add a teaspoon to 5 gallons, but I figured this water should be pretty damn clean to start with. I also added the recommended amount of trace minerals into the RO water for taste and mineral purposes (RO filtering strips water of ~99% minerals that your body needs).

My intent was to have water than I could use to drink, or, for anything else (like flushing toilets, bathing,etc.). The point is it is versatile.

I also labeled the container with the date that I finished filling it (01/22/2019). After a year, I'm going to try the water out and see if it has gone bad or not. I'm not sure yet if I'll let it go another year or just use it up around the house and fill it up again like I did above.

Also I'm storing this on my basement floor. It's a constant 55 degrees F down there and out of direct sunlight. Also it is near a drain so if it leaked for some reason it wouldn't make a big mess.

I like this because I can always buy more of those jugs to fill and have a fair amount of water saved away.

The only downside to this is the jugs are heavy, I'm guessing 50 pounds. It will suck carrying it upstairs but if I really need it, it's there.
Lite Salt + Mio + Trace Minerals.
This definitely confirms my experimentation. I get salt from salt... no issue there and I get Mg from the trace mineral supplement drops https://www.amazon.com/Trace-Minerals-Research-Concentrace-Mineral/dp/B000AMUWLK
but I also supplement about 300 mg as magnesium citrate. I've never been big on K+, when I first got into keto I was probably taking way too much and felt like shit, felt way better once I backed off. I think a daily salad, avocado, and can of sardines is sufficient for K requirements among other micro nutrients.
I used the following before and during my keto flu experience. I found nothing helped during shark week and I didn't lose. I weighed 2 days later and I went down 2 lbs. My suggestion is do not weigh in that time frame and keep your electrolytes up as best as possible. I do also take a potassium supplement. Make sure you take enough to warrant a full days dose: (1) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000AMUWLK/ref=sr_ph?ie=UTF8&qid=1453929417&sr=1&keywords=Mineral+drops (2) http://www.amazon.com/Magnesium-100%25-Pure-Natural-Minerals/dp/B00N48BNGK/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1453929446&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=magnesium+dead+sea+oil&psc=1
Additionally, I did not have horrible cramps as it was my first 'weekly experience' while on KETO.
I've never used any of this stuff but I see this suggested a lot.
There is also this, which my keto cousin uses, and a quick google netted me these pre made shakes.
Oooooh, yay for protein powder! I ordered this chocolate one last week and it's really good! I've been having it for breakfast on weekdays- I used to really love the chocolate "Instant Breakfasts" and this tastes just like it. 🙂
I try to eat as much whole foods as possible. Humanely raised meats and eggs and butter, wild caught fish, fresh veggies. I really try to keep processed food to a minimum. However, on days when I don't have the appetite to hit my protein goal, I will have an Isopure zero carb protein shake.
I've gotten most of mine from Amazon on their "Subscribe and Save" program:
You need a blender. Shaking the stuff does not mix enough and leaves clumps like you described. Get a cheap Magic bullet. Those are often on sale. Not a terribly great blender but for protein drinks it works and the cleaning up after is so easy. Bought a real blender first and cleaning it ruined the thing for me and I only need one cup every time and it was just too big.
The Protein powder I am using (after many tries) is Isopure - Low carb - Dutch Chocolate. and I mix it with almond milk due to the less calories. But that is just me and everybody's tastes are different.
This one is really good and zero carb. They also have different flavors if chocolate isn't your thing!
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000E8ZJGS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_UxRUCbKB8X1K5
I really love Isopure's low carb Dutch chocolate. I just checked the ingredients label and it's sweetened with sucralose, I'm honestly not sure if that's consisted a sugar alcohol though or if it's something that would bother your husband's stomach.
My personal shake is 2 scoops of Isopure Dutch Chocolate, half a cup of heavy cream, and 8 ounces of coffee. Blend it and chill. If I need extra fat, I add a tsp of coconut oil. The macros come out to: Calories 627, Protein 54, Carbs 5.3, Fat 44.
Fuck. That's lots of pills. I take Source Naturals Life Force for that reason. Only two pills a day and I'm done.
Source Naturals Life Force Multiple
to follow up on multivitamin, I enjoy taking Life Force Multiple. A bit big, but it's herbal and easy to grind up. has tons of stuff in it and makes your pee neon yellow. They are a little short on the magnesium side, so I would recommend getting a low dosage cheap magnesium.
I use these. I haven't tried any other kind, but these seem to work great.
Ever tried l-theanine? You can get a bottle at GNC for about $15.
I just bought a bottle in the mail from Amazon. I've read people on here who use it to deal with the evening comedown. Since I'm giving meds another whack here soon, I wanted to have some on hand, as when I was on meds before I largely used beer to remedy the condition of which you speak. Cool on the brain, but counterproductive for sure. Not wanting to go down that path again.
I just buy this off amazon and it works quite well. It's not like trying to find a potent source of phenibut or piracetam, L-theanine is quite easy to get. Here is a good post on L-theanine's effects.
Also, it is found in tea and other things but not in a sufficient dosage enough to really cause any noticeable effects and is worth supplementing.
Just go with Jarrow B-Right Works great for me.
Do you believe that the anabolic androgenic ratio rating (done in mice I know) could be a surrogate for non-AR mediated anabolism to AR mediated anabolism? You say that Test has equal effects through both mechanisms, which would be supported by this idea because it is 100:100.
Regarding androgen affinity of masteron you can see this full paper here.
You are correct that masteron has affinity for the androgen receptor, but interestingly it's androgenic rating is only 25-40, less than half that of testosterone. This could be suggestive that the majority of the effects are non-AR dependent. The hormone was originally intended for breast cancer patients, and I believe that it may mediate anabolic activity by acting as an antagonist at the estrogen receptor. By blocking receptor binding of estrogen, it may allow you to reap some of the anabolic effects (increased IGF-1, sodium retention) of estrogen without experiencing the femininization (sp?) properties.
Let me try to summarize the thoughts going around here, and see if I can suggest an option to address this.
I am not sure I have the perfect answer, but here is how I plan to do it in my next cycle:
I thought I would include supplement choices since I am writing a book here anyways:
I am on the fence about including HCG, because I was running it on a cruise for a while, but it was aggravating my pubertal gyno and when I went to get my bloodwork I found that I had above range prolactin and in range estrogen and test. I was only on AI + Test + 500IU HCG/wk administered E3D. I may include it just to improve lipid metabolism, and increase estrogenic tone, because boldenone seems to act similarly to masteron insofar as it has not well understood anti-androgen effects.
Sorry for the manifesto.
That supplement would be fine.
It contains:
-methylated folate
-Pyridoxal phosphate(active form of b6)
And
-Methylcobalamin(b12)
You may be able to find them all separately for less money.
Or the Jarrow B complex is commonly reccomend, and contains the B vitamins in the same form. You'd have to compare dosages though.

Hi there, I sense your hair is thinning due to a vitamin deficiency. I sense you should take a good quality vitamin B supplement, like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-B-right-Supports-Cardiovascular/dp/B0016003Z0/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1505639358&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=vitamin%2Bb%2Bsuper%2Bcomplex%2Bjarrow&th=1
I also sense your body needs more calcium and vitamin D. As for the job you applied for, I sense that Ali has had a lot of applicants and is narrowing down the list as quickly as he can. It doesn't look like you've been disqualified, but he also hasn't completed the task of narrowing down the applicant list. I sense that you'll most likely hear back from him in 1.5 weeks or less.
I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions :) Also, please share my link: http://clairvoyantreadingsforall.webnode.com/ thanks :-)

I believe /u/DigestibleComestible is referring this this Gelatin, which is the one that I see most often referenced in any Paleo related article. Per the reviews, most users notice change around the 3 month mark, after taking 2tbsps/day, every day, but they didn't specify which issues were relieved for them, so I can only assume they mean their overall skin tone/feel/etc.
Of course, incorporating bone broth from healthy animals is always the best way to get nutrients.
Anecdotally, I have been using this gelatin for ~1 month now, and so far I have noticed that the flaky, dry skin on my hands doesn't show up anymore, my facial hair is generally softer, and the cuticles on my fingers seem to be doing very well.
I have a bunch of stretch marks, and I call them my tiger stripes! I'm very proud of them. Once your weight stabilizes, the stretch marks fade and eventually disappear. Eating low-carb will help, too. Rubbing coconut oil on them also helps (a little goes a long ways, so don't go crazy!), and making sure you get collagen in your diet, too.
You can get collagen from high-quality gelatin like this one (which does not gel so can be put in coffee) and/or this one (which does gel and can be used to make jello). Please note that brand-names Jell-o and Knox are very low quality. You can also drink bone broth or just swallow the gristle when you eat your steak.
Last but not least, drinking lots of water also helps! Stay hydrated!
This bad boy! So the red/orange container is gelatin you can make into jello and the green one is gelatin that won't gel and you can put into your coffee. But what really helps me is using the red/orange container gelatin to make jello with Powerade Zero or I'll use water that's been mixed with Emergen-C Electro Mix and sugar-free syrup for flavor.
From my research stay away from Knox gelatin (yucky taste) and Sugarfree Jello (only has a minute quantity of actual gelatin).
When making jello with this gelatin use these instructions (taken from the first review in Amazon for this gelatin, but I modified it a little to make it keto-friendly):
"i start off by mixing 1 cup of COLD liquid with the 2 tablespoons of gelatin in the measuring cup.
keep mixing till all the gelatin has been mixed with the liquid, don't leave any chunks.
then let sit for 5 mins. This will bloom the gelatin.
After the 5 mins, dump the cup of liquid/gelatin into a dish, and then clean your measuring cup, then pour
another cup of liquid into your measuring cup. I then microwave this cup for 2 minutes (maybe another minute after i test it)
then take it out to measure the temperature. you want to try to get the liquid around 160F degrees. (should be pretty hot to the touch)
then i mix in the sweetner [I don't add any] to taste, then add the hot liquid to the cold, and mix it.
it should all be clear after you mix them together, and then i leave it sit on the counter for a few minutes,
then put it in the fridge. It takes a few hours to harden."
I eat it all, I try to make 2 tablespoons of gelatin by daily dose so I use half the liquid mentioned above so there is less jello to eat because even then there is still a lot of jello to eat!
Let me know if I'm not clear! I can type slower than I think!
You might try a seed cake, like this: https://www.wildbeaks.com/superior-blend-seed-cake/
Most bird center or nature stores should carry these. Grocery stores may, at least in some areas. They are seed cakes bound with gelatin, not dissimilar from what is used to make gel-cap pills. They shouldn't melt, and don't have the calorie overload like suet does. A lot of birds will skip or reduce suet intake in summer due to the extra calories (and subsequent body heat).
These come in cakes that will fit in small or large suet cages, also as cylinders, bells, balls, etc.
Edit: if you DIY, try some straight gelatin like you would use for making jelly or candy, look for it in the canning section or at a whole-food type store. Keep it light, you don't need much, just enough to keep the cakes in shape. You're making a seed cake, not a gummy bear! Something like any of these should work as long as there are no sugars or artificial additives: https://www.amazon.com/Great-Lakes-Unflavored-Gelatin-16-Ounce/dp/B001ELLBJS
https://www.amazon.com/Sen-Yuh-Farm-Science-Co/dp/B001JH93BU
Maybe try those?
You can get them here

The oddest thing on my WL are probably these miracle fruit tablets. Under ten dollars would be these catnip bubbles.
Edit - for clarity
take MethylB12 lozenges.
put under tongue and let dissolve but dont swallow until its all disolved.
it goes into blood stream instead of being absorbed in stomach

I recommend this or this.
I am buying nerve health supplements because I am recovering from an acoustic neuroma - (and with vitamins many doctors think they do nothing - so keep that in mind) Nervestra Nerve Health Support Supplement, Alpha Lipoic Acid Vegetable Caps, Methylcobalamin (Methyl B12), 1000 mcg, Lozenges and Centrum but I am not taking anything for the ear for hearing health maintenance.
Anyone want to recommend any vitamin/herbal supplements for hearing heath maintenance?
While I am aware of medical literature that says vitamin supplements do nothing - it never made sense to me why vitamins absorbed in foods are good but via pills is bad (if the pills were of good quality and contained the ingredients they contained).
I dont know if you take any vitamins or supplements, but these b-12's are awesome! They help greatly with energy and stress relief. They're very inexpensive, sublingual so they just dissolve in your mouth for faster results, they are the superior form of b12-the methyl form so they don't have to be broken down by your body.
Also, a good quality vitamin c taken daily would also help keep the energy up and stress at bay. I would suggest a liquid form, because a lot of people don't realize that when we take vitamins in pill form, we barely absorb any of it. Vitamin C crystals or powder can be added to any drink and it gets right into the bloodstream for quick absorption.
Your caffeine intake will probably go down quite a bit by adding these two natural alternatives. Plus, you'll be nourishing your immune, nervous, and endocrine system rather than depleting it.
Hope this helps!
It's not quite as simple as a multivitamin alone, but it's a good start. A good but cheap one would be these: https://www.amazon.com/Kirkland-Signature-Vitamins-Minerals-500-Count/dp/B002RL8FCU/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1468940301&sr=8-2&keywords=kirkland+signature+multivitamin
I'd say take 1/3 - 1/2 of a pill per day with your Joylent, and add a small pinch of salt to each meal. You may still be a little under on electrolytes, but instead of worrying about it initially, see if you experience signs of a deficiency (or ideally get bloodwork done before starting on the diet and a month or two afterwards).
I was hoping someone with better ideas and more relevant information would show up but that hasn't happened so here I go.
The product you linked is a powdered multivitamin supplement for athletes. It's probably pretty good but it's also not very cost effective. If you do any supplementation you'll want to use cheaper multivitamin pills.
Because protein powder isn't an option anything you do will look as much like a dietary plan as it will anything else. Is your goal convenience and health? How much time to you spend shopping and cooking already? With some research you could probably work out a simple meal plan that's reasonably healthy and easy to make. It all depends on what foods are available and how much nutritional data you can put together to make a balanced diet.
The easiest thing to do will probably be to take a good multivitamin and find a convenient food that can be eaten most of the time while using other food to fill in the nutritional gaps. Oatmeal or some other porridge. Beans and rice. I feel very unhelpful offering this advice but it's my best idea from what you've told me.
http://www.amazon.com/Kirkland-Signature-Vitamins-Minerals-500-Count/dp/B002RL8FCU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1405533771&sr=8-2&keywords=multivitamin
This is what i ended up buying him. I think these are as good as any other multivitamins and they are like 1/2 the price. .03 a day ain't much to keep essential nutrients in your system.
Sure, just these. I've read that most daily multis are pretty much the same and I thought having a giant count of them meant I'd be less likely to run out soon
Yep, here's the amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002RL8FCU
I had a hammy that had something very similar, poked her cheek with a piece of hay she stole from my guinea pigs, and it formed an abcess that required antibiotics and surgery. Make sure to give your hammy probiotics to replace any of the intestinal flora that the antibiotics kill off. This is a good one , mix half a capsule with a mashed blueberry or sprinkled on veggies they like. DMG is also a really helpful supplement (it boosts the body's immune response to infection), 0.1mL once a day would be the dose for a hamster, its tasteless so it mixes well with food or medicine.
I have had a lot of luck making my own yogurt out of coconut milk (canned, ingredients are just coconut + water) and NOW Foods probiotics. Here's a recipe.
You're not alone in using products every other day even if you're supposed to take it daily. I've done that with a lot of stuff, including the homemade yogurt.
Lately I've needed to add protein to my diet and haven't had any sensitivity issues to the probiotics in this powder. I know it's a big commitment to buy something that processed that your body might hate though.
Good luck shitting!
As others recommended, Psylium Husk pills and a probiotic should help with regularity.
I've tried this enzyme supplement and this expensive probiotic with some success. Looks like this and this are the most popular on Amazon though, from NOW Foods (a good brand), and cheaper.
This is what I take!
NOW Supplements, Sunflower Lecithin 1200 mg with Phosphatidyl Choline, 200 Softgels https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003BHZ71G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_fosjDbGXBY7B7
I mean if dream feeding works for you, rock on. I mean milk removal is always good for supply.
Now Foods Sunflower Lecithin Non GMO, 1200mg, Soft-gels, 200-Count https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003BHZ71G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_opf5xbJ75180H
Most nutrition shops will have them. Places like whole foods sells them too.
I ended up buying it from Amazon. I had a hard time finding it in a store. Good luck! Clogged ducts suck :(
NOW Supplements, Sunflower Lecithin 1200 mg with Phosphatidyl Choline, 200 Softgels https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003BHZ71G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_nZfxDbCG0SQC3
I used the Now brand from Amazon, but there are lots of brands.
NOW Supplements, Sunflower Lecithin 1200 mg with Phosphatidyl Choline, 200 Softgels https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003BHZ71G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_HBJnDbDJX511X
I bought my lecithin on Amazon (here). But before that I found it in the supplement section of my local Whole Foods-type store.
Just some info: I feel like I've had better success in preventing clogs with sunflower lecithin (as opposed to soy), but I'm sure both work fine. I take 1 pill 4x/day.
And one more person chiming in: do not stop nursing on the side with your mastitis. I've had multiple rounds of mastitis, and I find that nursing on that side helps it heal much better than pumping.
Have you tried taking sunflower lecithin? My milk is very thick and fatty, so nursing was painful until I started taking it 3x a day at first, then I dropped down to 2x a day. It basically helps your milk flow a little more smoothly. Other than that, time will cure a lot of the pain as your nips toughen up. But definitely try lecithin for immediate relief. This is the brand I use.
I had my first ever one the day before yesterday. I had to do warm compresses and intense massage for mine, along with letting my baby nurse. I got recommended Sunflower Lecithin too, this is the one I ordered: NOW Sunflower Lecithin 1200 mg, 200 Softgels https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003BHZ71G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_pqiQCbEEA4QQA
Now what I didn't know about is that you can feel bruised/sore for a bit after it goes away, so that wasn't fun. Hopefully Lecithin works! Even Amazon had amazing reviews for it! Took my first dose of it yesterday evening.
I'm no scientist, but my guess would be that it might not work. I say that because the treatment process for dairy products if you use lactase drops is about 24 hours to break down the lactose. I use this in products that are not lactose-free (like sour cream).
http://www.amazon.com/Supplement-Certified-Formulated-Seeking-Health/dp/B003VSTRY8/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1463836515&sr=8-3&keywords=lactase+drops.
Maybe you are better off with taking lactaid (or similar) about a half hour before eating the sour cream?
Yep!
I get these drops
If you leave a review, they will give you a 25% discount for future purchases, and this works every time you leave a review.
I like to get 3 gallons at once and do 35, 20, 15 drops. This saves drops because you drink the third gallon last, so you're giving the enzyme more time to work on the lactose.
You need to wait 24 hours before starting to drink from the first gallon.
It might depend on how old the milk is (maybe the enzyme gets used up?). I personally use these drops in place of lactaid milk... they might work well in this situation!
late to the party, but getting these really help. i usually put 40 drops in a gallon of milk. you can adjust how much you really need also (ex. using 30 drops if your lactose intolerance isn't as severe).
http://www.amazon.com/Supplement-Certified-Formulated-Seeking-Health/dp/B003VSTRY8
I recommend buying the liquid enzyme and mixing it with your milk. This is cheaper than buying pills or buying lactose-free milk.
Lactaid can be expensive though (~$8 a gallon where I'm from) so it could be cheaper to order lactase on Amazon if the thought of $8 milk is absurd to you. But, once you go Lactaid, you'll never go back. It tastes so good, even my family members who are lactose tolerant prefer it.
The liquid lactase is dramatically more expensive than the pills. A "dose" of liquid, as far as I've seen, has 750 "lactase units," (whatever they are) while the pills have 9,000 each. The bottle has 75 of these doses, and if you buy the costco pills, you get 180 for about the same price. So the liquid costs more than 20 times as much.
Drops: http://www.amazon.com/Lactase-Drops-15-Supplement-Servings/dp/B003VSTRY8/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1383064644&sr=8-5&keywords=lactase
Pills: http://www.amazon.com/Kirkland-Signature-Fast-Acting-Lactase/dp/B000VS4BF6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1383064644&sr=8-1&keywords=lactase
I'd try just crushing up a pill and putting it in the milk. The taste of the binders shouldn't be noticeable in a half gallon or more.
Sorry - not been on Reddit for a few days. So I'm pretty sure it says on the bottle, but I found out by going through the Q & A section of the product description page on Amazon, where I purchased this item. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VSTRY8/.
> I just told you the scientific fact is that it is not real, non-conversion DHA it is a form you must convert.
Bro, real DHA can be obtained in these vegan capsules. Just as there are fish oil pills.
> Eating the seeds is not enough- i hope you can understand at least that.
Wanna explain why you can't get enough converted DHA from seeds and walnuts?
> No i dont want to mix 3 tablespoons of flax oil into oatmeal haha.
A want is not a need. This still doesn't prove that you need animal products, you're simply saying that you want animal products.
> Human beings have large brains because we ate meat
Good thing physical human evolution has already ran its course and we have no opposition to adapt against anymore, then. This point is irrelevant now.
I use this pill from Deva. It has no carrageenan and it’s grown outside the ocean.
I take two for 400 total mg. That’s 45 servings for 22 bucks, making it 48 cents a pop. It’s more expensive than the straight up oil, but carries less of a risk of oxidation.
Here's a vegan DHA-EPA Omega-3 supplement: https://www.amazon.com/Deva-Nutrition-DHA-EPA-Delayed-Release/dp/B005R5CARY
You may also want Kelp for iodine: https://www.amazon.com/Natures-Way-Kelp-600mg-VCaps/dp/B00024D1ZA and I know you are already getting your B-12, but for everyone else, I recommend taking as a liquid sublingually https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015YDVT48
Beyond that just make sure you get your leafy greens (kale, collards, spinach, broccoli, etc) for calcium and iron and you should be pretty good to go.
Erythritol
I use this for tasty food! And no stores sell it here, but it makes such delicious low carb food nomnom. and hey i've lost 19lbs so far so totally worth it! XD
Not typically. Just get it on Amazon, it's very reasonably priced. https://www.amazon.com/NOW-Foods-Erythritol-Natural-Sweetener/dp/B007XA49BG?th=1&psc=1
Erythritol. It's got the lowest glycemic index of sugar alcohol sweeteners and also none of the laxative effects since the body does absorb it.
Different brands seem to me to taste a lot different. My favorite is Wholesome brand, but it's expensive. So far best bang/buck has been Now Foods:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007XA49BG
Here's a good chart:
http://www.sugar-and-sweetener-guide.com/glycemic-index-for-sweeteners.html
Notice malitol (in most no-sugar candies/sweets) is VERY HIGH.
For the most part I avoid sweeteners, as I didn't really enjoy sweet things before.
That said, I have used Erythritol a little when I had to.
My apologies, that still wasn't the correct link, jeez. Here is the vegan D3, $8/60 caps
doctor's best d3 is vegan and cheap.
I take Doctor's Best Vegan D3 Capsules 2500IU ($0.11/count) at https://www.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-Vegan-Vegetarian-Capsules/dp/B00E816ROU/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_121_lp_t_3
I buy these, which seem to work well! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E816ROU
Some are, but a lot (if not most) aren't vegan. A really common animal ingredient is the capsule itself - a gelatin capsule. Other things are amino acids (often derived from hair, feathers, etc), lactose (milk sugar), stuff like that.
You can find plenty of vegan vitamin D and multivitamins.
I take the spray linked below. Once a week under the tongue, my blood checks have always come back great. I notice a difference between the methyl- sourced and the cyclo- or whatever sourced. The methyl- sublingual ones I've always noticed benefits. Body stores what it needs, expels the rest. Gives you a boost, they put b12 in energy drinks, so I like to take it on Mondays.

Hi! I might be able to help,
For years I had acne-prone skin until I went on birth control and adopted a good skincare routine. My skin was super clear after that, until I went plant-based. I don't know if it was the sudden hormone change from dropping dairy, and/or the b12 supplementation, but I broke out in horrible cystic acne all over my face.
It seemed like b12 fortified products + the b12 pill I was taking was too much. Or maybe it was the type of b12 since I know there are two kinds. But I posted in a vegan Facebook group about my troubles and was recommended this spray supplement from Garden of Life. I unfortunately had to go on antibiotics to get rid of the acne, but since starting this supplement, I haven't had any more problems and my skin is incredibly clear. I just try to remember to take a spray or two every few days.
Good luck! Regarding skincare routines, r/veganbeauty might be able to help! :)
Edited to add: I also recommend checking out Brian Turner on Youtube. He's a vegan/mostly WFPB athlete who has dealt with extreme acne and has lots of helpful content on it.

This is the one I use. I can't imagine anybody not tolerating it. It's raspberry flavor. I actually have kept myself from doing more than one dose. I just spray it under my tongue, it doesn't hit anywhere near my gag.
Use MCT oil. Either the NOW foods or Premium. Both available from Amazon US and Canada.

My favorite sugar-free electrolyte caplets! They're a tad pricey but ok for what you get IMO, they always save my ass from hangovers.
And thank frick blow is keto or I'd be in deep waters :)
They're 1-calorie hydration tablets for running. If you're low on water, they really help. https://www.amazon.com/Nuun-Hydration-Electrolyte-Essential-Electrolytes/dp/B019GU4ILQ
Change your locks, call a locksmith today. Or, DIY. I don't know how good you are with tools.
Electrolytes are not cheap. But I don't care as hydration is important. I just tell myself, that it's still about as expensive as a soda.
If I'm just sitting around, I'll drink Ultima as it has zero carbs and tastes great.
https://www.amazon.com/Ultima-Hydrating-Electrolyte-Raspberry-Gluten-Free/dp/B01IIGVUQA?th=1
If I'm about to workout, I'll do Liquid IV Hydration Multiplier, as it has about 11-12grams of carbs and you cook that off easily during a workout.
https://www.amazon.com/Liquid-I-V-Hydration-Multiplier-Electrolyte/dp/B078XMP8KJ/ref=sr_1_4_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1521496446&sr=1-4&keywords=liquid%2Biv&th=1
Recently picked up Bodytech Electrolyte Fizz for pre/during workouts. It's the cheapest I've found and is pretty weak on flavor. You get a lot of servings for the money, but I feel like using two or three rather than one just to up the flavor.
https://www.amazon.com/BodyTech-Electrolyte-Fizz-Grape-Packets/dp/B015TBZQOO/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1521496507&sr=1-1&keywords=bodytech+electrolyte+fizz
Nunn Tubes are good, but they turn into a gut bomb of carbonation if you are trying to exercise and use them.

Since I am an athlete, I run TKD and can easily burn off 75 grams of carbs during a workout and be right back in ketosis. But if you are sedentary, struggle to keep your carbs down, and counting every single gram, the Ultima is by far the best I've tried.
Nuun tablets
This is exactly what I take. Hopefully this doesn't get flagged as spam or anything, swear to god I'm not profiting off this in anyway, just want to help folks out.

All the basics that help people stay regular. Eat a salad for lunch, the insoluble fiber will help with your constipation and as a benefit will keep your blood sugar stable and reduce your cravings for snacks in the afternoon.
You can try taking a probiotic, this is the one I'm using.
But you know what has seemed to really help eliminate my constipation problem, I mean totally eliminate it? Magnesium.
Not only are my poops no longer hard but they are many times actually soft. I recently decided I didn't like the direction my health was headed, got my blood work done and found I was pre-diabetic and had slight anemia. So I started hitting the gym nearly every day, eating way better, and supplementing. I did some research for supplements backed by science. The list I came up with was this:
Creatine Monohydrate
Magnesium (L-Threonate is supposedly better able to cross the blood-brain barrier)
Vitamin D3
Turmeric
Fish Oil
I've been taking all of this stuff for about two months now and between that, the better diet, and working out my energy levels are much higher, my strength is already improving a lot, and my poops are not hard anymore.
Right now I'm on a low dose of Suboxone, 2mg/day, so I'm sure that helps. After being on this drug for 11 years I'm a big believer in being on the lowest dose you can be comfortable on.
I don't want to get too off topic but this channel has been so helpful to me for to start improving my health that I'm going to link to the supplements video in case anyone else here finds it useful:
https://youtu.be/1U5W1pQjqmA
Good luck with your poop!
Thanks. I'll take your recommendation on the caffeine. Regarding the curcumin, the serving size is 3 pills, I am already taking less. This is the one I am using https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DBTFO98. It's for aiding in recovery, although I wouldn't be able to tell how much is helping.

When it gets bad, I take 2 tart cherry extract caps and 1 turmeric cap all at once and I feel it fades away for awhile. It only works for 4 hours. I've been taking these pills for 10, 15 years no problem.
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007XA49BG/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1484174044&sr=8-2&keywords=erythritol+sweetener&dpPl=1&dpID=51HJ1DvgOIL&ref=plSrch
This looks great, but does anyone know if the erythritol should be counted toward carbs? The product the author linked shows 4g of carbs from erythritol (not sugars) per tsp. The recipe calls for 1/2 a cup. Thats 24 tsp -> 96g of carb in the recipe. This quadruples the carb total of the recipe.
It looks delicious, though... hoping either the erythritol carbs don't count, or there are lower-carb version of the linked product out there.
Erythritol: I haven't seen it in store yet, except Truvia- www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007XA49BG/
While it lists carbs on the label, these aren't counted toward net carbs.
Potassium: I usually just work in about a tsp a day of Morton Lite Salt. Keto rapidly flushes electrolytes, especially in the beginning and this is usually the cause of all unclear thinking, discomfort, and fatigue. I usually make ketorade which is just lite salt + artificial mio flavoring.
I use this one:

I just bought this spray by MyKind Organics
Love this brand:
https://www.amazon.com/Premium-derived-only-Organic-Coconuts/dp/B00XM0Y9SE/ref=pd_lutyp_cxhsh_2_3?ie=UTF8&dpID=51JYSUhUvlL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_SL500_SR160%2C160_&refRID=Y6PA3YFS4RYNCJBXYC92
Fwiw I just made these and used flavorless MCT oil which I had on hand to try keto chow (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XM0Y9SE/), worked fine.
I know it's about as reliable as a reddit comment, but someone asked a question on their Amazon listing and that was all in the reply by another customer. I read their description and sure enough, they mention its a "full spectrum" containing Lauric Acid. I went to a few other listings and they specifically say they contain only C8 and C10. Like I said, the NOW brand was cheaper anyways so I made the switch.
Have a look for yourself. I encourage everyone to do their own research.

Yes, regular coconut oil is good too. But not as good.
When you're taking MCT oil, it's almost like eating ketones. It enables your body to get used to distributing ketones around your body and using it for energy. It also enables you to stay in ketosis easier when you mess up and eat incorrectly.
So it kind of gives you a head start and a buffer zone.
Hang in there. Euphoria is just around the corner.
The one I have actually does have it! I normally skip breakfast, just not much of a breakfast guy (maybe something light like a granola bar or a couple hard boiled eggs). So I feel like the coffee with some MCT kinda fills that void.
I've heard MCT coconut oil is soluble with extracts and vapes nice..
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00XM0Y9SE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_RkQEzbKNG0NFR
I would try that before PG/PEG anyday. Has to be MCT though. Terps are best but expensive..
How about MCT made from Coconuts!

No problem, my grandmother suffered from dementia and she lived with us her last few years. I can empathize somewhat with your situation .
Oh awesome! That's a great addition. If money isn't the largest factor for you MCT oil is the best part of the coconut oil, at least as far as your brain being able to utilize it for fuel. So you might want to check it out.
Here a Random's amazon example.

Does anyone know if using these will break a water only fast?
https://www.amazon.com/Nuun-Hydration-Electrolyte-Essential-Electrolytes/dp/B019GU4ILQ
14 calories per tab of 16ml water is what I see... please let me know! Autophagy more important to me than ketosis...
Hmmm. I have a bunch of the Nuun tablets and start my rides with both bottles having a tablet in them, with water & ice. They're highly recommended, but I still get leg issues.
I'll give the BPI BCAA a try!
Stop exercising if it's giving you headaches.
Exercise really doesn't help much with fat loss anyway. Also if you are sweating a lot and replenish with just water you probably need electrolytes. I used Nuun Hydration Electrolyte Drink Tablets
https://www.amazon.com/Nuun-Hydration-Electrolyte-Tablets-Citrus/dp/B019GU4ILQ/ref=sr_1_7_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1498683350&sr=8-7&keywords=electrolytes&th=1
Use the myfitnesspal app and enter anything that you consume, even if it's a really small quantity. Food and drinks. Make sure you are entering the serving size you actually consume. Some labels can be tricky. I was eating pickles the other day and one serving as 3/4 of a pickle. Who is going to cut up a pickle and put 1/4 back? Stuff like that is common though.
Eat less carbs and more fat and protein.
If you don't want to do keto just limiting carbs to 100 is a huge improvement for most people.

Amazon has some great cheap electrolyte products.
I take it about the same time I take agmatine 30-45 minutes before. Not convinced it does anything, but curcumin is good for the joints anyways.
5mg piperine is good enough if taken around the same time, otherwise you need the piperine with the curcumin.
Here is an example of a good curcumin product:
https://www.amazon.com/Sports-Research-Turmeric-Curcuminoids-Bioperine/dp/B00A39MPNI
Here is an example of a bad one:
https://www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Bioperine-Available-Standardized-Curcuminoids/dp/B01DBTFO98/ref=pd_lpo_121_bs_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=5C3M27FH8KMBVD377DJZ
You can see in the second one, it only has 150mg of curcumin, while the vast majority is just turmeric. A lot of products will also put tuermeric in with curcumin in a proprietary blend. To be safe, you should make sure the only things labeled in the product are piperine and 95% curcmin extract from turmeric.
I probably wouldn't worry too much about gluten then. I highly recommend supplementing with this and a green tea supplement as well.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DBTFO98/

Decent price.
So is cory to increase BA mostly or for its effects of its own? And I heard people use black pepper to increase BA is this similar to using cory for BA%? And how does this product look: https://www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Bioperine-Available-Standardized-Curcuminoids/dp/B01DBTFO98/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1485531136&sr=8-4&keywords=curcumin
It has black pepper/bioperine in it. And do they make one that contains cory? Thanks!
To be fair, that brand claims to test for heavy metals: https://www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Bioperine-Available-Standardized-Curcuminoids/dp/B01DBTFO98
Did you check Schwartz Bioresearch brand?

I'm in the nutraceutical biz and what I've found is most effective is to look up on Amazon or Vitacost the drug that I'm taking, than I check the ingredients and from this you'll find the safe dosages. Branded retailers are pretty good about putting correct qty in capsules.
Go to Amazon and just type in "Enhanced Turmeric" a number of products show up. or click this link

So the suggested dose of retailers is 10mg per 1500mg that is the safe level. These companies have researchers who investigate the products before formulating. Let them do there work and just follow there findings and you'll be fine. We are in a litigous society so if they are wrong than they can be sued. They usually aren't.
I used to make golden milk which requires buying raw spice powder but I now just take a supplement (https://www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Bioperine-Available-Standardized-Curcuminoids/dp/B01DBTFO98/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_121_bs_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=MEC0C78W4X0S9J4WHMJ2). I determine how much I take just based off the daily serving on the bottle. I would suggest starting off using golden milk as I think it works better. It is cheaper as well.
Curcumin extract is the active ingredient in turmeric - or at least the main driver of the benefits. I have seen some positive anti inflammatory effects myself, less joint pain after working out, reduced allergies, etc.
It is not very bioavailable in the body, so make sure you go with a brand that is high quality and uses bioperine - which enhances bioavailablity.
Curcumin Extract Supplement
Curcumin. My daughter's GI suggested it for it's benefits in the inflammation of the Intestines, but we find it brings her joint pain from a 6/7 to a 0/1. She even recently has started working out again. She takes two of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DBTFO98/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A32DGYOAL6LMZV a day, which is the amount that the tests the NIH show to be beneficial.
Well the problem is I literally cant afford to just up the dosage, as it is already expensive for me. I take 2 a day, which makes it only last 25 days. This other curcumin seems more cost effective. I already bought it so why not try it and see if it's a decent replacement for the longvida? This new curcumin is the highest rated on amazon with over 9000 reviews, all raving about its effectiveness with bodily pain, I didn't see many people talk about curcubrain helping with their body inflammation, just the mental benefits.
edit: also if you know of any well reviewed high dosage curcumin products, i'd love to check them out. This is the one I just got:

activated charcoal! http://www.amazon.com/Natures-Way-Activated-Charcoal-Capsules/dp/B0006LCQ4Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409151031&sr=8-1&keywords=activated+charcoal

Do you think it's better if I just get a mask that already contains activated charcoal instead?
I think your teeth are fine! Like other said, there's always Invisalign to straighten them.
For whitening, I like to use natural stuff like Activated Charcoal. You break open the pills onto a small dish, wet your toothbrush, brush for about 2-3 minutes. There's really not much of a taste and you get to look like a crazy person with black stuff in your mouth. Rinse and repeat once a week. Whitens little by little over time.
Activated charcoal tablets- ever seen those $10 hangover cure juices from fancy juice bars? This is what’s in them. It helps filter toxins and undigested alcohol from your liver! Pop a couple before sleeping, a couple more in the morning, drink lots of water.
Nature's Way Charcoal Activated; 560 mg Charcoal per serving; 100 Capsules (Packaging May Vary) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006LCQ4Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_7L03CbPMN6EJE
Here's the recipe for re-mineralizing tooth powder:
1.) Use a plastic Tupperware container, don't use anything metal to stir or store the powder (bentonite clay can pull things from metal). Square and shallow seems to work best.
2.) 1/4 - 1/2 cup of Bentonite Clay (depending on the size of your container), this is the brand I use.
3.) 3 - 6 capsules of [activated charcoal] (https://www.amazon.com/Natures-Way-Activated-Charcoal-Capsules/dp/B0006LCQ4Q/ref=sr_1_2_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1500301931&sr=1-2&keywords=activated%2Bcharcoal&th=1) - great for whitening - can stain grout so be careful when using! Just gently twist the capsule and dump the contents in with the clay.
4.) Clove and/or cinnamon to taste - optional.
5.) Mix ingredients with a plastic spoon or just put the lid on and shake gently!
How to use:
1.) Dip dry or damp toothbrush in coconut oil - I try for a pea sized amount sometimes more.
2.) Dip coconut oil covered brush in tooth powder, just enough to cover, tap your toothbrush on the edge to remove excess.
3.) Brush. I find it works better for me to spread the tooth powder around on my teeth before turning on my electric brush. Again the charcoal can stain grout, towels, etc. so be careful!
If you don't like or have coconut oil you can always just dip a damp toothbrush in the powder and brush with just that!
As for whitening my husband and I both saw a lot of improvement. He's an ex-smoker and it got rid of the tobacco stains on his front teeth after a month or so of twice daily use but YMMV.
I take Nature’s Way
Nature's Way Activated Charcoal; 560 mg Charcoal per serving; 100 Capsules https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006LCQ4Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_QiSNAbAGWTHE1
Activated Charcoal - Take one of these capsules apart and make a paste. Apply it to the bite and let it dry. I do it right before jumping in the shower because this stuff gets everywhere, but it works really good.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0006LCQ4Q?pc_redir=1406881398&robot_redir=1 it's not a whitening strip but they are AMAZING!!!! Open the capsule and rub onto teeth then spit out. Doesn't damage your teeth or gums and you'll see results in about 5 minutes. It won't hurt you if swallowed either though. Doesn't stain stuff. Plus waaay cheaper than the standard whitening strip.

I will occasionally allow myself a chocolate "cheat" Although it's not much of a cheat. Still keep it keto.
I like these chocolate bar's

Also I like halo top chocolate mocha chip.

Or I will make a shake with this stuff.
https://www.amazon.com/Isopure-Protein-Powder-Chocolate-Pounds/dp/B000E8ZJGS
Isopure Low Carb Protein Powder, 100% Whey Protein Isolate, Flavor: Dutch Chocolate + So Delicious Bev Mlk Coconut Unsweet Vanilla + Magic Bullet Blender = Thick chocolate milk shake.
1 net carb in 155 calories.
I use the Isopure Dutch Chocolate.
Great with heavy cream and almond milk, or cold coffee.
I was asked by a coworker what the real difference is between this product -- Isopure -- and Keto Chow. After discussing with him, he said in two servings, you have 100% of your vitamins and then you can add heavy cream for fats and calories like KC, and also salt for electrolytes. He wants to switch to KC, but isn't sure of the exact reason why it's different aside from the above product plus heavy cream plus salt.
I searched for isopure and found the following post -- link -- but it wasn't too detailed on the actual specifics.
Can someone who is smarter than me tell me exactly what this specific product is missing, that wouldn't be achieved by adding heavy cream and salt? Not protein powders in general, but this specific one?

The chocolate is the only flavor I've tried, but it isn't chalky at all and it blends really well with other flavors.
Isopure Dutch Chocolate is the bomb!

If you have a 24 hour fitness around, they have it on sale for 39.99 till the end of March
I took that for a while and honestly I'm not sure it's worth it. They're extremely expensive for a bunch of other ingredients that I'm not even sure are worth having. Sure there are some BCAAs in them, but I didn't feel like it made it worth it.
Honestly you're better off with something simple. Try this.
I've done natural T boosters and can share some thoughts. I don't feel that they raised my T, but I didn't get labs to compare. However, I do think they gave me energy when taken before training. I've tried Test Booster 1.0 and Nugenix. The Test Booster was the more affordable and has 1,500 mg per serving and the premium priced Nugenix has 3,000 mg per serving. Both kind of felt the same in the end: more energy throughout the day.
Eventually I made vitamins and minerals my main concern and I feel I've been having ore success with that. Now, I take 1x DHEA on an empty stomach before breakfast. Eat, then take 2x D3 (https://www.amazon.com/Life-Extension-Vitamin-5000-Softgels/dp/B000GTFOBA/) and 1x Trace Minerals (https://www.amazon.com/Life-Extension-Minerals-vegetarian-capsules/dp/B005MJTUEG/). The Trace Minerals has boron, zinc, magnesium, chromium, etc. All things associated with T. With lunch I take 2 Life Force Multiple (https://www.amazon.com/Source-Naturals-Multiple-Activator-Capsules/dp/B000GFPD0G/). Then 2 more with dinner. That's been my natural T boosting regimen as of late. Hope that isn't too tangential.
This is generally the recommended brand of multi, you should only take 1 or 2 a day rather than the 4 it recommends.
What about these vitamins Source Naturals, check the back label picture.
Why only vitamin d3 in liquid form?
The best bang for the buck I could find is this:
https://www.amazon.com/Source-Naturals-Multiple-Activator-Capsules/dp/B000GFPD0G
Highly bioavailable, good ratios, and cost-effective
Be careful! Can help on some peoples but can cause panic attacks! It's not for everybody. (I have to try too)

If you take anything with caffeine, consider lowering your intake.
Try some green tea as an alternative. It has compounds that will mellow you a bit without making you drowsy (not sedatives)
You can actually get this stuff in pill form. L-Theanine is just about the only thing that stops my racing mind and bouncing leg :P then again I have very acute ADHD, but a lot of people couple a pill with their coffee to take the edge off, or use it for making presentations or general anxiety/over-energy management
As mentioned below...action is your best bet. Doing more stuff and being around people helps a lot during depression.
Another thing that I recently found out about that works amazingly well is : L-Theanine
I originally got it because I drink a lot of coffee/caffeine, but it works amazing for stress.
Is this decent L-Theanin? https://www.amazon.com/Now-Foods-L-Theanine-Veg-Capsules-60-Count/dp/B000H7P9M0
Thanks. This is what I bought: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B000H7P9M0/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1P09G2F2DJWPV
..it says something about "suntheanine"
As someone who also suffers from anxiety, and still does. Here is what's been really helping me out:
I feel your pain. Hang in there.
Magnesium Citrate
L-theanine
You should look up info about L-Theanine. It goes together really well with caffeine. Helps reduce anxiety and jitters from caffeine.

The question "what has had the most significant effect for you?" has been posed in /r/nootropics and /r/stackadvice before. The #1 answer is always exercise. Exercise will have a much more significant effect than any nootropic, and the recommendation is always to ensure that sleep, diet, and exercise are all taken care of before experimenting with nootropics.
That being said, some supplements can definitely help to address anxiety/depression. Let me also say that every body is different; and between two people who are trying to ameliorate the same condition, the same supplement could help one and worsen the other.
The essentials for anyone are: Omega-3s, magnesium glycinate, and a B-complex. Also consider ALCAR and a choline source (such as alpha-GPC).
Supplements that people report being beneficial for anxiety/depression (and therefore focus, energy, mental capacity): ashwagandha, rosea rhiodola, L-theanine bacopa, SEMAX, memantine.
There are plenty (1, 2, 3) of reports on what has worked for certain people to tackle their anxiety/depression. (Click through all of those).
My recommendation for you would be to get this magnesium, some good fish oil, and this B-complex. Then give SEMAX a shot. Then maybe look into bacopa, aswagandha, etc.
Regarding noopept: "Noopept reduces anxiety and depression for me. When I went through a bad time it would immediately take the emotion out of me." Perhaps try it too.

You need to regulate your hormones. By the way, people here will always just blame it on the hormones. But remember, your hormones will get out of whack for a reason, there are precursors that caused something to happen.
This isn't caused solely by puberty. It's a mixture of characteristics. Here's what you can do for a cheap remedy that you can get in Europe.
-Eliminate refined sugars from your diet. Refined sugars bring no benefit and only bring harm to your body.
-Adequate vitamin D. You can get vitamin D for free just by getting out in the sun and getting exposed.
-Exercise everyday. If you have access to a Sauna, go there after you exercise. Make sure you wash your face after you exercise.
-Sleep 8 hours a day. Change your pillowcases every other day.
Supplements that are game changers:
OptiZinc - Take 100mg of Zinc a day.
Boron - Take 6 mg of Boron a day.
B-complex - Once a day
Vitamin D with K2 - Take 2000 IU of Vitamin D a day w/ K2. Also take fish oil and a multivitamin, if you can afford one.
Those right there will change your acne. Limit dairy consumption as well. That should cure your acne or make it very controllable. If you can, go to a dermatologist and try to get a retinoid cream.
I bought this supplement:
http://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-B-right-Complex-Veggie/dp/B0016003Z0/ref=cm_cr_dp_asin_lnk
and I decided to take it once a day. SAMe is expensive, so I'm just gonna take 1 of these "b right" pills and 600 mg NAC 2x a day and see how that helps. The B right only has 100mcg of B12 though, should I look to up the B12 significantly?
I am considering to try taking gelatin for a few weeks to see if that helps. Dr. Ann Childers strongly suggest that those with EDS take it to improve their collagen productions, overall health, and mood. Has anyone else tried this?
The Great Lakes Gelatin is kosher and comes from grass fed cows - no added anitbiotics or hormones.
Not really insinuating that it is a steroid, just that cheap protein unnecessarily spikes insulin which promotes hunger due to how it is cut with fillers.
Want extra protein easily? Add Gelatin Not a referal link - to everything. 1 TBSP = 6g of protein.
As for if I am a wizard.. maybe.
I'm not in canada but i just took link from above post, copied the name of the product and put it in amazon.ca and it's available
http://www.amazon.ca/Great-Lakes-Unflavored-Gelatin-16-Ounce/dp/B001ELLBJS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398887142&sr=8-1&keywords=Great+Lakes+Unflavored+Gelatin%2C+Kosher%2C+16+Ounce+Can
same with glycine capsules
It is not too bad, I use this: http://www.amazon.com/Great-Lakes-Unflavored-Gelatin-16-Ounce/dp/B001ELLBJS
Whey is quite low in glycine, which most people don't care about since it is non-essential. But I think there is a limit to the synthesis rate, so I like to supplement anyway. This in an interesting read: http://raypeat.com/articles/articles/gelatin.shtml
I second it.
I also consume gelatin (http://www.amazon.com/Great-Lakes-Unflavored-Gelatin-16-Ounce/dp/B001ELLBJS) every day, approximately 15grams/day. I noticed that it helps a lot with tendons, ligaments and skin. It is quite annoying to have to mix it up once a day, but definitely worth the effort IMO. I go hard during rolling and I had quite a few close calls when my wrist would snap and I'd feel pain. But that would heal in a matter of days and I wouldn't even have to take days off of training. I attribute it to prevention (Animal Flex + gelatin) rather than just healing abilities.
Gelatin can also be made from cows.
Example : https://www.amazon.com/Great-Lakes-Gelatin-Collagen-Hydrolysate/dp/B005KG7EDU/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1475019388&sr=8-1&keywords=gelatin&th=1 + https://www.amazon.com/Great-Lakes-Unflavored-Gelatin-16-Ounce/dp/B001ELLBJS/ref=pd_bxgy_325_img_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0VCJ1TF4BE2S9GHBHJ7X&th=1
Gelatin derived from pork will always be haram.
Meh. I mean it's the same meat going into all the other meat things you eat. There are also 'higher quality' options available. Lastly the idea as far as I understand it is that the gelatin binds to the stuff that it drops out of the beer, so not only are you starting with a tiny amount in the first place, most of it is just going to get thrown away with the nasties in the very bottom of your keg/bottles.
This is the collagen hydrolysate I meant https://www.amazon.com/Great-Lakes-Gelatin-Collagen-Hydrolysate/dp/B005KG7EDU
this is the gelatin https://www.amazon.com/Great-Lakes-Unflavored-Gelatin-16-Ounce/dp/B001ELLBJS/ref=pd_sim_325_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B001ELLBJS&pd_rd_r=967Z4EXCEA5DKMADYHT8&pd_rd_w=BQYp4&pd_rd_wg=FHtsU&refRID=967Z4EXCEA5DKMADYHT8&th=1
Have no fear sugar-free jello is A-OK!!! nutritional specs for Jello
What you were thinking about is gelatin, a delicious, nutritious protein. the above post was about glycerin, a sugar alcohol.
Gelatin is the jelly-like stuff you get at the top of a broth after boiling bones for a few hours. in my opinion its the superfood our granparents are which we're all missing in our diets today. its amazing for your joints/hair/overall health
Eat as much jello as you want, then have some more (as you can probably tell, i also love jello). Better yet, if you love the texture and feel of Jello, by making it at home, you can:
-increase your gelatin intake
-get a better quality gelatin (grass fed all day!)
-save muchos money
-make unflavoured/ridiculously flavoured jello
Here's how:
I hope you will try a kale smoothie!! They are hella nutritious. Here is my jam: buy a head of kale at the store (purple is the bomb), take it home, cut off the stems, wash it, dry it, chop it up, and put it in a big Ziploc bag. Then i stash it in the freezer, so it stays good and never goes bad or wilts. I keep an old protein powder scoop (1/4 cup) in the Ziploc, and throw 2 scoops in my morning smoothie. You can use any protein powder you like; i use Jay Robb whey or egg white powder. I also put some grass-fed unflavored gelatin because a lot of the keto/paleo sites recommended it. I also add a few (about 1/8 cup) of frozen blueberries to help the flavor.
Make sure you leave enough space in the jar for it to blend properly. My Ninja individual jar has a "max fill" line which is helpful. blend the shit out of it or else you'll get the "liquid salad" effect. I will add some Kerrygold butter, or olive oil, or coconut oil to the shake if I need more fat that day.
I used a Magic Bullet blender for a long time, then I upgraded to a Ninja, which is what I use now. Someday i want to get a Blendtec or a Vitamixer, but I don't have six hundo to throw down on a fucking blender.
I buy the Nature's Way brand of coconut oil, to me it tastes pretty coconutty. I tried to get my dad to eat some, because MCTs help with memory in addition to all the other amazing things they do, but the stubborn old man won't eat it because he is convinced it will make him fat. That shit is like catnip to me, I love it. I love all the other great "fat bomb" recipes folks post on here. Good luck!!

Only thing I can't find anywhere else.
pretty California
Probably these miracle fruit tablets.
Use one of these, then eat a lemon.
Putting party favors in these would be hilarious!
You could also do an "experiment" with these where they have to taste different foods to see the changes in flavor.
Gummy brains for goody bags.
A variety of safety glasses for all your scientists!
I like surprises! :D
I've eaten whole lemons with these and had them taste like candy. Not sure if there's a real nutritional advantage to being able to eat a lemon like an orange, but it's kind of cool.
You're welcome
Is it just taste, or smell as well?
Lots of places have them. Here's some on Amazon.
Here's something a little different that may appeal to her "genius" side and definitely the food side. These berries change your taste buds and make things taste totally different for like 15 mins at a time. Could be a interesting party idea to grab a bunch of different foods and try them out!

MetanX contains
L-methylfolate (Metafolin): 3 mg, http://www.amazon.com/Life-Extension-Optimized-l-methylfolate-Vegetarian/dp/B002R3G8BS/ref=sr_1_6_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1463606811&sr=8-6&keywords=Metafolin means $0.42/day

Methylcobalamin: 2 mg, http://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Methylcobalamin-B12-Supports/dp/B002FJW3ZY/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1463607019&sr=8-3&keywords=Methylcobalamin means $0.12/day.
For a total of $0.67/pill, then it's a question of how many pills he took per day. You can get most of them cheaper. Does he take 10? That's $200/mo. Does he take 20? That's $400/mo. And so on. The company lists a going rate of $58/mo for uninsured pt's. I don't know if metafolin can be prescribed, but I'm assuming B6 and B12 can be for a vitamin deficiency. That would reduce cost even more.
The point I'm trying to make is that yes, it probably did have an effect on the patient's willingness to commit suicide. But pretending like he had a singular issue and that was which food groups his insurance covered is, in my opinion, an oversimplified version of the events.
digging this particular one

from description
"Methylcobalamin (Methyl B-12) is better absorbed and retained than other forms of B12 (e.g.; cyanocobalamin).* Methyl B-12 protects nerve tissue and brain cells; promotes better sleep and reduces toxic homocysteine to the essential amino acid methionine."
Hey, that's awesome!
First and foremost, educate yourself about nutrition. Seriously, nobody wants to further affirm the stereotype of the malnourished vegan, especially as an athlete or with somewhat athletic ambitions.
For nutritional information I would recommend the following resources:
Vegan for Life: Everything You Need to Know to Be Healthy and Fit on a Plant-Based Diet: A book with a lot of nutritional information.
Veganhealth: Website that has all the information about nutrients that need attention in a vegan diet and more. (Especially read up about B12 and take a supplement! I take the one I linked, because it's super cheap and vegan.)
Learn about complete proteins.

There are websites aimed at vegan athletes like these:
Tips from a Vegan Athlete plus meal recommendations
Meal Plan, information and a real life vegan bodybuilder
Some possible problems and their solution

Other stuff:
List of vegan athletes: Great as an inspiration and for that moment when people will try to tell you that it's impossible to build muscle on a vegan diet.
I love tofu, which has a lot of (complete) protein and I especially like this recipe.
Eat tofu, seitan and for the cheapest option rice with beans, lentils, chickpeas etc. Also plant milks, bananas, spinach, oatmeal, nut butters...

As a new vegan, you might find some of the things useful I posted yesterday. Skip the text at the beginning and especially take a look at the things about nutrition. I like to recommend the accidentally vegan foods as well.
Good luck! If you have any questions feel free to ask :)
I love marmite and eat it all the time! However it's still recommended to supplement b12 even if you eat fortified foods.
I take three of these pills a week. It works out very cheap - that one pot of pills will last 33 weeks for me.
Not sure if it is the best but I just take the Kirland (Costco) brand. 3 cents per day and it is USP verified.
Hi, sorry about the late reply there.
Check out this recipe I made for someone. I've been experimenting with athletic Soylent hybrids (more protein, salt, potassium).

So the Costco/Kirkland multivitamin wouldn't be best for men? It has 100% of Iron Amazon Costco.
I did come across a couple of articles saying that iron usually isn't important for men because we...don't lose it once a month. And it can build up in the liver.
Just like give each of them 10 of these without the label of course
Amazon UK has it:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002RL8FCU?tag=19-82341-21
I am doing all 3 meals, 100% of the daily servings for each.
I thought I'd remembered reading that it was wise to supplement with this particular multivitamin (Kirkland Signature Daily). But now I can't seem to find where I'd read it.
Damned old age...
I am quite positive that some nutrients are more biologically available due to the action of intestinal bacteria however I cant remember which ones. I think you should first define the weight your talking about. I think it this case you could have weight gain from fluid retention from swelling and inflammation, weight loss from fluid loss from diarrhea. you can have both going on at once. Weight loss as in the release or storage of lipids by fat cells can also be influenced by gut bacteria. Bacteria can interfere with the response to leptin causing weight gain. Now your question about disrupting. There are big issues with that. There are hundreds of different bacteria and yeast in your system some are beneficial some are pathogenic some others are beneficial until there are to many then they become pathogenic. Not to mention disrupting the bacteria with anti-biotics can lead to a Yeast imbalance as like candida are not bacteria but fungus. Yeast imbalances are also not simple to treat because yeast are more like animals then they are like bacteria anti-fungal agents are as toxic to people as they are to yeast. If you want to effect your gut balance with out doing something radical I suggest you try a month or two of something like http://www.amazon.com/Now-Foods-Candida-Veg-capsules-180-Count/dp/B000E7R3FY Candida support. Its more of a yeast suppresent then having anything strong enough in it to kill them outright. Take http://www.amazon.com/NOW-Foods-Probiotic-10-Billion-Vcaps/dp/B002S1U7RU/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1395925153&sr=1-1&keywords=now+probiotic Probiotics to increase the quantity of supportive strains and prebiotic fiber to feed the probiotics http://www.amazon.com/Optimum-Nutrition-Fitness-Unflavored-6-87oz/dp/B004B8F85Y/ref=sr_1_4?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1395925221&sr=1-4&keywords=sports+fiber
Probiotics
Or make your own by fermenting food, a jar full of salted(Sea salt) water and the vegetable of your choice, leave it 3 days in the dark area and enjoy.
But it is not enough, the balance of your gut bacteria thrives on your diet, so you should reduce your carbohydrate intake to a minimum and focus on vegetables , fruit (with low glycemic index like kiwi ) , seeds , nuts and meat.
I recently started taking Now Foods Probiotic. If you have the money VSL-3 is probably the best one. I felt a euphoric effect and a generalized sense of well being after taking it.

I'm sorry you're going through this, OP. I have terrible constipation as well and the bloating is one of the worst symptoms for me. It's such an uncomfortable feeling. I'm by no means cured, but I've tried several things that have really helped. Especially with my bloating. I recommend looking into these.

NOW Probiotic: This is one of the best probiotics in my opinion and is a must if you have IBS. I take one capsule 30 minutes before eating and it helps reduce my stomach pan and improves my digestion. This is one of the things that has made the most difference.

Chamomile: I take this after I finish eating. It settles down my stomach and reduces the likelihood of me experiencing stomach pain after eating. I take it not just after eating, but also whenever my stomach acts up. It almost always relieves any sort of stomach discomfort I'm experiencing. Chamomile is particularly good for improving digestion, reducing gas and bloating, and promoting smoother and more frequent bowel movements. If you experience any anxiety, which is pretty common among people with IBS, chamomile can really help with that as well. It's a mild sedative and is very calming. It's useful for lowering anxiety as well as improving sleep issues like insomnia.

High Absorption Magnesium: Most people have some level of magnesium deficinecy. People often don't eat foods that are high in magnesium and to make matters worse, things like sugar, caffeine, and certain medications, can lower your magnesium levels. Magnesium is a very important mineral and getting enough magnesium can help you feel less constipated and help you have smoother bowel movements. It's also good for lowering anxiety as well.

NOW Candida Support: It's believed that some some people with IBS may have candida overgrowth. CO can contribute to IBS symptoms. This supplement does a good job of managing this. I take 2 capsules with a meal.

Senna: Senna is a mild, but effective herbal laxative. I take one capsule 2 to 3 times a day and I've been having bowel movements a lot more often and I'm not as constipated. My doctor had me on Miralax previously, but I switched to senna because Miralax was too strong and harsh. It would help me poop, but I would poop too much. So much that it was even painful. Senna is far less harsh.

Triphala: I take triphala right before bed and I'm usually able to have a bowel movement once I wake up the next morning. It helps the liver and kidneys do a better job of detoxifying the body. It may help kill certain bacteria that could be contributing to your IBS. It seems to work because I noticed that all my acne cleared up and my skin looked so much smoother when I started taking triphala.

Besides these supplements, a diet change can lower the chance of your IBS symptoms triggering. I personally like a gluten-free diet because it's not as strict and difficult to follow as some other IBS diets. Gluten is one of my biggest bloating triggers and avoiding it when I can really helps.
Yes, I take a probiotic (this one) almost everyday when I remember. These days I don't always remember, but I was much better about it while I was recovering from the effect of so many antibiotics on my digestive system.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002S1U7RU/ref=sxts1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1485452143&sr=1
This is the one I usually use. I've tried others as well and they all seem to work about the same. I try to buy whichever one has the most strains of probiotics. This one has 10 strains and is vegan friendly!!
I was on long term antibiotics and had issues with some of the same symptoms no matter how careful I was with my diet. After ending my prescription, every food felt like a trigger and I didn't see much of an improvement until I went on a probiotic for a month. I'd definitely recommend trying it - what do you have to lose?
Here's the one I had good results with: [LINK]
Another change I made in conjunction with the probiotic was consuming more prebiotic foods and cooking all (well, 90%) of my vegetables.
I use this one off amazon. Cheap, great smooth flavor and long shelf life. 1 Tablet per gallon of wort.
I started taking this about a week and a half ago:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002S1U7RU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I am keeping it refrigerated. Thoughts? Garden of Life has a lot of offerings it seems, is there one you are talking about specifically?
Sounds like you're eating something that doesn't agree with you. What are you eating more of these days? What kind of protein (im assuming youre taking protein powder) are you using? Anyways, I'd recommend you try this and/or this.
Fuck soy

This is going to sound weird, I know, but the two most important things I honestly need right now are these two supplements:
-
Fenugreek, and
-
Sunflower Lecithin
-
Right now, these two supplements are the only reason I’m producing enough for my newborn. I have been out of my Fenugreek for a week now and I have had to use supplementing formula along with what scant amount of breastmilk I’ve been producing. The Sunflower Lecithin helps with my supply and prevents clogged ducts. I get chronic clogged ducts and have had double mastitis twice before using these.

Please and thank you.
(Sunflower Lecithin) - 1200mg/day

No, they’re pretty basic:
NOW Sunflower Lecithin 1200... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003BHZ71G?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I took 3600mg/day (I got the NOW Sunflower Lecithin and it's 1200mg/cap so I took three of them a day) until the clogs stopped showing up... maybe 4-6 weeks. After that, I took a maintenance dose of 1 a day and would up it to 3/day if I felt the lump come back.
I don't know if it matters. I just have a $4 bottle of Now soy lecithin (100) but some people say sunflower like this is better ($11 for 200)

have you tried taking lactase?
You may want to look into this: http://www.amazon.com/Lactase-Drops-15-Supplement-Servings/dp/B003VSTRY8
This stuff works good: http://www.amazon.com/Supplement-Certified-Formulated-Seeking-Health/dp/B003VSTRY8
I just add a dropper full to each gallon of milk i buy and I'm good to go.
if she's lactose intolerant, try the lactase drops. I'm really lactose intolerant but man do these things work. I haven't tried it on cream cheese yet and heat will kill the reaction so you have to do it a few days in advance, but I've even put it on pizza and been better off. I put it in milk and can drink it within a couple of days, i would assume the same for cream cheese as long as you mix it up and whatnot.
What about it?
Check this out: https://www.amazon.com/Deva-Nutrition-DHA-EPA-Delayed-Release/dp/B005R5CARY

That's what I'm using right now not for any particular reason. Just searched vegan omega 3 or dha supplement. Also eat chia seed every day as well as flax
I've tried 3 brands and I'm currently taking the cheapest one. Amala Vegan, Deva, and Nordic Naturals.
I have a question about vitamin supplements.
I am looking at buying this vitamin sup, DHA&EPA, and flax seed oil omega 3
Should I skip the flax seed and only take the vitamin and dha&epa pills?
Looks good. If I don't have Swerve can I use Erythritol instead? I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/NOW-Foods-733739069238-Erythritol-2-5-Pound/dp/B007XA49BG/?th=1
They probably do. I don't really shop at whole foods though. A bit pricey and I rather support a more local health food store thats been in the community for decades. I bought mine from Amazon though.
EDIT: If the bag is just for yourself, then 2.5 pounds is plenty.
I use the NOW Foods brand Erythritol. It's all natural (and, actually natural, here's how the company defines natural).
It's pretty much the closest thing you'll get to sugar on keto. It's about 70% as sweet as sugar and has a GI of 0 (10 carbs/40 calories per cup - as opposed to 200 carbs/800 calories a cup for sugar), and a fairly pleasant aftertaste (it's got a cooling effect like mint, but it's a lot milder if you powder it in a spice grinder).
Also, have you tried unprocessed Stevia leaves? I used to be in the same camp as you, but the real stuff actually tastes pretty solid, like a sweet green tea. I like brewing it with tea or blending it with Erythritol to make "Truvia". This is the brand I use.
Most recipes that I've seen are using Erythritol or similar but there is a mint-like cooling effect so some people like blends of Erythritol and Stevia like Swerve, which is of course more expensive. There is also Xylitol but it is toxic to dogs in case you have one.

There are a lot of sites with information on keto sweeteners including their GI and I highly suggest doing some research to determine which meets your needs and tastes. You will also likely have to try out a few. Also be aware that the taste of the same product (e.g. Stevia) from different brands (e.g. SweetLeaf vs NOW Foods) can be slightly different to people.
I usually order it online (Amazon).
This is the one I get:
http://www.amazon.com/Now-Foods-Erythritol-Powder-100%25/dp/B007XA49BG/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1453157248&sr=1-1&keywords=erythritol
Seems a little expensive, but it lasts me for a while since I only use it for baking or desserts.
Just as an FYI for vitamins, I feel like I'm doing a PSA advocating Source Naturals vitamins. They're made of the highest available sources (hence the name) and Significantly less is wasted through urine meaning better absorbable (bio-available) nutrients are used and absorbed by the body.
I had to learn way too much about vitamins... Cheap (non bio-available) ingredients just get pissed out.
I've been adding grass fed beef gelatin to my vegan/vegetarian recipes with great success.

B12 is not a huge concern. Your body creates reserves of it that can last longer than a year. So even if you aren't getting it daily you won't be deficient as long as you get it sometimes. Although some people have a rare disease where you need regular injections, but you would know if you had this problem, it's unrelated to diet. The best type of b12 is methyl b12: http://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Methyl-B12-1000mcg-Lozenges/dp/B002FJW3ZY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1374156839&sr=8-2&keywords=methyl+b12 it's what is most widely available in nature. The most popular type though is artificially produced from bacteria ( Cyanocobalamin). This type converts just fine into a form your body can use though. Some like to claim that it isn't good enough, but that claim is not strongly supported by evidence. However methyl b12 is definitely more bioavailable so I use it to supplement maybe twice a week plus I eat fortified tofu, tempeh and soy milk and nutritional yeast. Many other things are fortified with it as well these days, so it may never be a concern. Although be careful with just using nutritional yeast, the b vitamins break down if it is stored too long or cooked too long at a high temperature. Also be careful if you tend to avoid processed foods completely, you may need to supplement. Is extremely safe to supplement b12 even in high doses so don't fear. Some labels will say 1000x RDA and that's totally fine for b12 (not for all vitamins though), you just pass the excess. Also, don't get too caught up in the idea of things being "natural". Natural, whatever that means in the days of cars planes high tech farms computers and biotech, does not necessarily mean safe or healthy. We've come a long way as a species to save ourselves from the great harms of nature. To begin with, a vegetarian diet is not that natural, it's just ethical and efficient and in many ways healthy (although you should not be vegetarian if your only motive is optimal health). Agriculture at the level required to support an all veg diet is a relatively recent occurrence in human evolution. Other things to be aware of: vegetarians often have trouble getting iron, zinc, vit d, omega 3s, and calcium. So try to incorporate more foods with these into your diet if you don't choose to supplement.
Your post is almost entirely incorrect.
> Carnosine, it isn't found in any plants, and it makes sure your brain doesn't degenerate (leading to Alzheimer's, Parkinson's etc....).
Here's an article that says red meat can also raise your Alzheimer's risk. I think - at best - the science is still out on this one.
> Or one of the many other nutrients that cannot be gotten from plants effectively. (B12, DHA, D3, Creatine).
B12 is produced by bacteria, not by animals. You can easily find bacterial sources of B12. I have a bottle of B12 pills in my fridge and my recent bloodwork confirmed my B12 levels are entirely fine.
DHA you can also find in plants. Literally the first result on Amazon
D3 is also available in vegan form
Creatine as well
Please do a few seconds of research before you post this stuff.
Just reading through some other comments, I would agree that your calories are too high and you're consuming too many carbohydrates. I'd cut your carbs down to below 20g per day and up the fat content in your diet. 1 easy way to add more fat in your diet is bulletproof coffee, especially since you're already drinking a lot of coffee. Here's my 2 recipes:
Iced (this is my daily go to): 8oz cold brew, 1 TBSP heavy whipping cream, and 1 TBSP MCT oil, blended for about 10 seconds. Pour over ice. Optional: add a tiny amount of SweetLeaf Sweet Drops. The coconut flavor is my favorite. I usually double this recipe every morning.
Hot: 8oz fresh brewed coffee, 2 TBSP unsalted butter, 2 TBSP coconut oil or MCT oil, blended until butter and oil is melted. Optional: add a tiny amount of SweetLeaf Sweet Drops.
You need to get MCT oil, it's a refined type of coconut oil. These people who use regular coconut oil and salted butter are doing it wrong ;) https://www.amazon.com/Premium-derived-only-Organic-Coconuts/dp/B00XM0Y9SE

7 cents a day is, I'd say, much cheaper than an apple, even regardless of the convenience aspect.
I've also never been convinced about the need for antioxidants.
