This ends up cheaper because this distributor doesn't charge tax. Of course you are supposed to claim that on your taxes at the end of the year...
You can absolutely put a sling on it.

Just grab that (or find a kit with 1 1/4" loops) and follow the directions in the package. You'll just need a drill and some epoxy.
Don't worry, you're fine.
Colt 1911 from Sarco made in 1933 and an old Ruger Standard.
I haven't run the Colt with hollowpoints yet, but it's eaten FMJ without problems. All I did was knock the rust out of it, change the grips for used old walnut, and put Wilson Combat springs in it. Runs Chip McCormick and Wilson Combat mags just fine. You can just barely read the markings on the left side. On the right, Colt is clearly visible but half the pony is gone and the rest is pretty faded. Serial number is untouched though.
The Ruger is a Standard that was the second generation, ~1974, made after the original stamping equipment wore out, so the magazine follower button is on the same side as a Mk II or III. This means I can use the Ultimate Clip (sic) Loader. This pistol eats everything and is a tack driver. It's been the first gun that more than a few people have shot, great for teaching.
UTG Recon Flex, attaches on the 3+9 positions of a MLok rail.. Makes it perfect for this gun because it removes the bulk of a standard bipod. Here's a link ...

Which is why I own one of these with my MKIII: http://www.amazon.com/McFadden-Machine-Ultimate-Clip-Loader/dp/B004YF931Y

Way cheaper after shipping through Amazon.

Primary Arms is really the only brand in that price range thats worth a damn.
Are you sure you want a hard plastic case?
Like, are you really sure? Because there are a lot of really good soft cases that do the same job as long as you aren't going to be taking it onto an airplane.
Like this one
If you want a really tough case - Pelican 1750.
A lesser case - Pelican iM3300.

This is the wrong game to start crying "It's not realistic" with. Don't get me started on the ballistics or weapon handling of the game let alone a camera that can not only see shoeprints but also track them and tell you who is wearing what shoes. Or the fact that you can pull 2 variable size steel reinforcements in your back pocket along with infinite wooden barricades. But I suppose that is more realistic than a solar powered sight.
Right now glaz is broken, either you remove his thermal sight and go back or you find a way to make it play better with the rest of the game. How about you make Smoke's smoke block his thermal sight. Or have it run out of battery, or like OP is suggesting have it solar powered.
Holosun, Vortex, and Sig make fantastic budget red dots. Holosun is my personal favorite. Beware of cheaper red dots from NC Star, Sightmark, and TruGlo. They’re all Chinese garbage that will break after a few rounds with a rifle. They are only good for airsoft. You might think you’re saving money with a cheap red dot, but one it breaks you’ll have to spend another $100 for a good dot that actually works. DO NOT BUY THIS RED DOT. https://imgur.com/gallery/Jb7fl2Q it’s very popular in video games but it sucks IRL.
Here are some good budget red dots.

I got one of these and it helped a lot with trigger control - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004NKY23E
note: I did not get the laserlyte targets; I can easily see where the laser hits and if it's a steady shot vs. showing some sort of flinching etc. - however i may get some of the timed targets later for rapid draw/fire drills.
$750 and you're looking at a CM028? Bro...
Seriously, there is better for your budget.
Here's my complete RUSFOR/Green team kit, that cost around $700 to put together:
CYMA CM040D
5 Mid caps
Odin Sidewinder w/ AK Adaptor
Tenergy 7.4v 1400mah 15-25c lipo
Tenergy lipo charger
Mechanix M-pacts
Scope Mount w/ Primary Arms red dot
New Gen Smersh
SS Leto Partizan Suit
OD Fleece Cap or OD hat
Hatch X-tak knee pads
Pyramex I-force
One Tigris Mask
Howard Leight Impact Sports
Merrel MOAB Mid
Elite Force .32s outdoors and Elite Force .28s indoors.
---
It all works well an I'd recommend all of it. Of course, it's farb as fuck, meaning it's not an accurate impression of anything. It's just a generic rusfor loadout.
Few recommendations:
If you want a nicer gun, go LCT. They make some real nice AKs for around $300. They're also not MAP Protected on Evike so you can use the 25% off coupon codes.
Try boots on before buying. Seriously. What works for me may not work for you.
You may want a better charger like an IMAX B6AC. The Tenergy works decently, but is very basic. The Imax can charge, discharge, charge to certain voltage, and just do whatever you need it to.
You can grab those primary arms optics on Amazon. Here's the $90 Micro.
Oh yea. Check em out. I’m a big fan.

Recently (this Saturday) did some work to convert mine to an LTR. Still waiting on the sling mounts, but here here's mine: http://imgur.com/a/34ePZ
For the curious, here's all of the modifications:
I can't wait to get out and put some holes in paper with it now. With the new bolt release and target hammer, dry-firing feels so amazing compared to stock parts.

I really hate when people use the most vague comments for information.
Dunno what a good price is but it's also $359 on Amazon with free 1 day delivery.

If you can swing an extra $40, Vortex has the best red dots for the price point. Also a full no bullshit lifetime warranty.
https://gun.deals/product/vortex-strikefire-ii-red-dot-redgreen-dot-wlower-13-co-witness-cantil-14930-wcode-spring15-o?mobile=true
They're usually $179, don't know how long that deal lasts.
If you really can't go over $100, SightMark makes semi decent stuff. Don't go too hard on it though.
Little $40 cheapo: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000W4BQ7K/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1496518870&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=sightmark+red+dot&dpPl=1&dpID=51wta5L7snL&ref=plSrch
Slightly more robust EOtech style, I had one of these. Lasted a couple years of range time then the power button stopped working. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004TDIDW6/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1496518920&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=sightmark+red+dot&dpPl=1&dpID=41uaubKMNvL&ref=plSrch
Definitely get the vortex if you can though
Definitely going for a .22 for your first pistol. The price (of gun and ammo!), low recoil, and ease of use are the best way to start.
There are a number of .22 revolvers (check out the Ruger Single-6 type) that you could use.
Additionally, many .22s have available magazine loaders that make it really easy. Check out something like this: http://www.amazon.com/McFadden-Machine-Ultimate-Clip-Loader/dp/B004YF931Y
Basically, you just place the ammo in the loader and shake. Then, place the magazine on a table, and 'pump' the device up and down on top of it. It should be pretty easy to do 1 handed, even easier if you have the ability to use your other hand to 'control' things a little (even without strength).
Holosun
HS403A - $129
Sorry to break it to you, but there is a lot more competition in the sup $200 micro red dot market.
They are all more or less excellent. I prefer the Vortex because it has an unbeatable warranty.
Hey, we can always try to help you. Ar15.com might have a better forum but that's a semi-closed off website compared to reddit.
Just from the looks of it the Sig Micro Red dot you posted looks a lot like an Aimpoint T2. The Aimpoint is top of the line (think, best you can really purchase) as far as quality is concerned. I'll be the first to admit I don't hear much good or bad about Sig Optics so I won't act like I know how well they hold up.
An entry level red dot would be something like the Holosun for 170$ compared to the 340$ you might pay for the Sig Dot you mentoined earlier.
In my opinion, there's three tiers of optics you can buy. You can buy horrible Chi-Com shit from China that will cost you 35$ total. You can buy entry level optics like the Holosun, Vortex, or Sig (low price to high), or you can go all in and get a top shelf optic like an Aimpoint, Trijicon, or [debatably] an EoTech.
If you're worried about "overpaying" for low quality, but you're willing to spend 350-400, buying an Aimpoint PRO would be right in your realm. You'll receive extremely high quality glass for a decent price. They retain their value over the years, and if your husband knows anything about firearms, he'll be super happy with throwing it on a rifle. (edit: your post history says your husband is familiar with Special Operations Units, so I know he'll have heard of Aimpoint).
Buying him a Holosun or the Sig red dot would be a good alternative, but if you can justify it in your budget, get him something you know he'll be happy with. An Aimpoint is hard to beat. He can save up another 200$, re-sell the PRO and upgrade himself to a Aimpoint Micro if he's looking for that style of optic down the road.
I use this one and it works just fine. It even works well while its attached and Im walking around the prairie shooting prairie dogs.
This one for $78 on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004TDIDW6/ is a really decent red dot. Very wide field of view. I use it on my TM MP7.
I got this one the only downside is since it side mounts it takes the spot for other furniture. But the price is great and I can lean into it without any issues.
This is higher than retail homie. You're probably in the $90-$100 range to get any bites for used.

Im a battle rifle kind of guy. This is my first scoped rifle. It is 1/8 twist. Any recommendations on practice ammo as well as defensive ammo that will propel this rifle to its full potential of accuracy/range?
this is a good post with very nice photos, but I have to point out that I can buy an EOTech 512 on amazon.com right now for $380.34 shipped.
No one is contradicting the article.
You cannot, under any circumstances, bring a firearm into the cabin with you. Flying with firearms is VERY easy if you read one of the 100s of articles or videos you find when googling "flying with firearm".
You'll need a hardsided case, that when locked, no one can touch the fireaem. That includes a TSA agent sliding their finger in through a pried open cheapo case.
I use this case when flying with a single firearm. I also use one of the cheapo cable locks that come with some firearms to attach this case to the inside of my checked luggage and I use a TSA approved lock on the outside of my luggage. The locks on the gun case CANNOT be TSA approved locks.

Most airlines, like United that you're likely flying to CHI, allow 11lbs of ammunition. Needs to be in a proper container, or loaded magazines. No round in the chamber, no magazine in the gun.
Be careful and make sure you're following IL and Chicago gun laws.
Make a separate account for your weed and gun talk.
If I can see the bike and I'm not worried about someone walking by to steal the helmet, I'll leave it on the bike. If I'm by myself and I'll have space to put the helmet on an empty chair or on a bigger table, I'll bring it inside. Otherwise I'll lock it up.
I used a gun lock like this for a while: https://www.amazon.com/FSDC-California-approved-Keyed-Cable-Lock/dp/B010IBDS04
Then I upgraded to this which has the advantage of being able to lock up my jacket as well: https://www.amazon.com/Master-Lock-8417D-Python-Keyed/dp/B000XTPNZK
I highly recommend the Python lock. It's not super high security, but it packs up really small and it's super easy to use.
I use one of these in my Tundra, I'm sure it'd work in the Runner as well. Easy to mount and holds a full size 1911 very securely.

This is the swivel set you need. It has a stud that go into the barrel band in front, or use a screw-in one on the stock. You will need to file the plastic on the barrel band down a bit to get it to tighten down right. The rear one will just be the screw-in one.
As Mr. fufu said below, it's not hard to do and basic drill and file sets are always handy to have around, or it should be a pretty easy job for any gunsmith.
Today was day 1 of my first Appleseed and I'm using a TakeDown. Other than the swivels being a little more work to install it works just fine. I would suggest against the Magpul specifically for Appleseed. The QD points are on the side which will make the gun tilt when you use the sling for support, and the cheek weld can be weird for how they teach it. In general I love that stock, just not for this.
What he said! I use one and it's a great platform.

I've been shooting pistols for a few years now and am just now getting the rifle bug. Over Christmas it just hit me... I don't have a 10/22! I wasn't having any of that; and wanting to have a little fun with it, I came up with this.
Here's what it is:
Ruger 10/22 "All Weather" Carbine
Archangel 556 Rifle Stock
UTG Tactical OP Bipod
AccuShot Scope Rings
BARSKA 3-9x32 Plinker-22 Riflescope
I got to sight it in this morning! Nice and accurate as you should expect from a 10/22. Ran subsonic ammo through it and it was nice a quite. I really like the Barska scope too... it did great on its lowest 3X setting. When I have more time I'll see how it does at long range.
Edit* Also Ruger BX-25 mag
Your options:
Handguard bolt on rails
2 Piece 7inch rail system
Magpul MOE handguard with:
Magpul MOE rail section
I'm a striker guy but for dry fire, I can totally see the benefit of having a double action trigger. I like to use one of those laserlight trainer cartridges when I practice my dry-fire (almost every night). And it would be really nice if I could just pull the trigger again to get another shot to go off, rather than having to re-rack the slide to get the next "shot" off.
But other than that and the extremely low likely event of a soft-primer strike, then I prefer the consistency of strikers.
Use a laser sight when practicing trigger control with dry fire drills, so you get feedback on exactly what the muzzle is doing as you pull.
Use a laser trainer when you practice draw and fire drills, or point shooting. Again, this gives feedback that otherwise wouldn't be there.
Using a laser sight or laser trainer with dry firing also lets you practice firing while moving or from unusual positions in a safe manner and with feedback on what you're doing.
Here is the one I use. Don't let the price scare you... you will easily save it in practice ammo. You can sometimes find them cheaper on Ebay. https://www.amazon.com/Laserlyte-Laser-Trainer-9-mm-Cartridge/dp/B004NKY23E/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1480200806&sr=1-1&keywords=LaserLyte
As others have said, definitely rent guns at the range. Black Wing has a very large selection both in the rental cabinet and on the sales floor. Vance is great too. I don't shop at LEPD because they're expensive and selection isn't that great, but I use their range sometimes.
For practice, start with a .22 target pistol, like the Browning Buckmark or Ruger Mark III. They're cheap to buy, cheap to shoot, very accurate and are excellent for warming up before moving on to the bigger calibers. Training on .22 will also help you focus on sight alignment while minimizing the chances of developing a flinch.
The other reason to buy a target pistol is that many ranges won't let you rent a gun if you're alone and don't have your own gun. That's to prevent people from renting guns and committing suicide on the range. If you want to try out guns for home defense and you can't bring a friend to the range, having a target pistol will get you into the shooting booth.
EDIT: Also get a laser trainer. For the price of a range trip or two, you can practice inside your home as much as you want. I find it really helps me focus on sight alignment and trigger control. Dry fire practice is one of the most important things you can do to improve your accuracy, and having a laser has made me a much better shot in a very short time.
[Laser Training Cartridge] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004NKY23E/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) has been worth every penny. It seems to use batteries pretty slowly too. Makes dry-fire practice a lot more fun/realistic.
If you're looking for just something for some range fun this might work. Just don't look at it, it hurts my eyes.

I wanna see it on a pistol using this.
I got the Sightmark Ultra Shot Sight QD Digital Switch for ~$55 on sale at Amazon around Christmas as an experiment: How "bad" were these sights that people keep telling me not to buy?
I've put about 500 rounds of 5.56 through my Sig516 with it mounted, and had some serious wobbling issues with it yesterday.
HTML5 video of wobbliness (dat gfycat name tho)
Kneeling at 50 yards, I was only able to get 3 of 20 rounds on a 12" target. I attribute those 3 to blind luck. Not good.
Today I took a look at the Sightmark to see if I could keep it limping along. It turns out that there's a way to tighten the mount up to account for this. Huzzah!
You can see an adjustment nut on the bolt they use to index on your rail in this potato pic. This needs to be tightened. I found that this nut is extremely loose, and was able to adjust it with a small punch, as I don't have a small enough wrench. I had some loctite lying around that I added to the nut, in the hopes that this won't happen again.
Is a sight that stops working after 500 rounds a good sight? Probably not. Can you limp by on one for a while? It looks like it.
I'll update after the next 500 rounds.
Put this sightmark on my rem870 a few years back. Hundreds of slugs and 00 buck Holds zero and is still going strong. Good value for the price

Also, if you get a MKIII/IV you need to get this. Cuts the mag loading time down to about 2 seconds without destroying your hands with the follower.
Downside is that you go through a 325rd box in like 15 minutes without realizing it.
I ordered the Primary Arms Advanced Micro Dot 50K. Haven't received yet but it seems very similar to the Holosun. So similar that I wouldn't be surprised if they use some of the same parts.

If you're planning on spending more than $150 just save your money and save up for a premium optic like an Aimpoint, EOTech, Leupold, or Trijicon. If you're looking in the 100-150 range, Holosun makes a great solar/battery powered red dot that holds zero well and has a 30-50k hour battery life(when it's actually in battery mode). If you're looking for a more traditional optic, Bushnell and Nikon have good 1-4x optics. If you're looking for more magnification a Leupold
is within your reach. Vortex has strong offerings in both red dots and traditional optics if you're willing to spend a just bit more. If you're looking in the 50-150 range I'd look into a TRS-25 or Primary Arms for a red dot. For a traditional scope i'd stick with a fixed power optic like this Bushnell, you're going to be hard pressed to find a decent magnified optic with good glass in this price range, fixed power scopes are simpler in construction and offer at least better durability but i'd consider sticking to a non magnified optic under the $100 range. If you're trying to spend even less than $50 there is apparently a very well made $20 Fieldsport which is worth a search on youtube. I wouldn't consider anything magnified under $50 but this is a good range for a cool carry handle with elevation adjustment and retro look. Shooting irons can be more fun than using optics sometimes.

Here's what I ended up going with for ~$958 leaving you plenty for a nicer optic:
Stribog SP9A1 $712 shipped
FS1913 Side Folding Brace $188 shipped
SHF Rail/Brace Adapter $58 shipped
Optional trigger shims for AR trigger install also available from Midway, I plan on trying a Geissele.
Totally agree, wish they had come with the stocks like that from the factory. Laminate stocks are similar to regular walnut/hardwood stocks (just thin layers appoxied/resined together forming an overall stronger bond and stock) I installed mine fairly easily just make sure your pre-drill your holes correctly and measure twice.
There are a lot of resources on youtube
Find the one that best suits you
Its all totally doable yourself but if you feel uncomfortable you could always have a gunsmith do it (but if I could do it myself without messing anything up you should be able to as well) If your rifle has a barrel band (I dont believe your model does) they make adapters to attach to it so you wouldn't have to drill the fore-end. Uncle Mike's are great products and thats what I used but there are other good brands, make and models as well, hard to go wrong with swivel studs. Also if you drill in the forward stud it would give you the option to use a swivel stud bipod
Good luck and enjoy the awesome rifle!
I am sure you, like most of us, have a more mechanically inclined friend who is also into firearms. I understand your trepidation making modifications. You can get a part which attaches to the barrel band on the front end so you don't have to drill there. Here is a kit.
Keep watching gunbot for .22LR ammo. It comes up from time to time. You have to jump on it when you see it for reasonable prices. ($0.30 or more per round is certainly not reasonable!) I would seriously consider placing an order with CMP and being happy when it arrived 6-12 months later since their prices are reasonable if you don't have anything other than that one brick.
The TSA annoys me even more than various States carry issues and restrictions! On top of that I actually like driving. I have traveled as far as a 9 hour drive to an Appleseed but going west which would be about the drive time to Connecticut. One of these days I will make it up that way.
This looks the same. Can be bad for 95$

Basically I think a more realistic hardcore would be fun, but some of these options would turn it into a simulation style game which doesn't fit the flow of battlefield, while others like battery life or hearing protection breaking aren't even possibilities in real life battles.
Remember that cheap scopes are gamble as there is little to now QA.
I got this one which is pretty good on top of my 10/22
https://www.amazon.ca/Barska-AC10380-Plinker-22-3-9x32-Riflescope/dp/B001JJCHWK/ref=sr_1_9?s=sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1458742305&sr=1-9&keywords=barska
Not sure how you feel about optics/what company you typically use. I'm a pretty big Vortex and Leupold guy on my big game rifles. However, I felt weird spending too much on a scope for a .22.
I ended up going with this one. Had it 4 seasons now and have brought it into some really rugged country hunting Dusky Grouse. I've dropped it, gotten it wet, basically just abused it as much as possible and it's held up. Awesome value for $50.
I picked up a Barska for about $50 to put on an old marlin .22 and it has really impressed me for the money.
I just bought this scope for my new 10/22. Nothing too fancy but the price was right and my friend bought the same one and loved it. For $180 gun I didn't see myself spending more than that on optics but you can.... easy.
Parts:
I'd recommend starting to carry around your house. You can start carrying unloaded if you'd prefer so you can get used to it. Then when you feel comfortable you can carry loaded. Getting the permit is easy, I just took some online course, but what's important is your safety and comfort level. From a safety standpoint, becoming comfortable with your firearm is essential.
As far as at home practice, I really enjoyed having this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004NKY23E/ You can get it in other calibers too. It's not perfect, but it helped me practice my aim, especially while drawing. Its not necessary and I know it's not really cheap, but I really enjoyed having it when I first got into firearms and carrying. It helped me a lot with my accuracy. You can even buy targets that will beep or fall down when the laser hits them, but I didn't feel like it was necessary. I just focused on an outlet or something else small across the room and feel like it was good enough.
If you want real live firing training, I can't really help you there because I've never done it. What I've seen and what seems to make the most sense is ask your ranges near you if they offer private lessons focused on CCW or shooting from a holstered position.
Best of luck and am always happy to hear of another CCW person here. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a story of a citizen carrying helped stop a deadly situation that could have been a lot more deadly!
100 rounds isn't very much. Have you looked into reloading?
I suck with my pistols and I get that shooting is not budget friendly, but 100 rounds/mo per gun is not very much at all. That would be a pretty light range day for me, and I try to go at least 3x a month. I'm assuming you don't have many pistols.
Might want to check this out. This was recommended to me and I'm going to pick it up soon. There's an option to pick up a target with it.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004NKY23E/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1452190593&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=laserlyte+laser+trainer&dpPl=1&dpID=41hdZ-MN7lL&ref=plSrch
if you want to add a reflex sight/red dot, it limits you to the Ruger Mk 3/4 versions with a top rail and the browning buckmark versions with rail. You might also be able to add an optic to the Beretta Neos U22 and the CZ75 with kadet kit.
The CZ75 with added Kadet kit would be the priciest option (probably around 800) but will give you a modifiable 22 conversion thats also a top 9mm.
You cant really attach any any optics to the slide of the S&W M&P22 compact, the Ruger SR 22 or the Walther P22 as it would negatively impact cycling. You could attach optics using an underbarrel rail mount but not the most convenient option (https://www.amazon.com/Mako-Universal-Picatinny-Mount-Pistols/dp/B004O6CDV0).
Overall id say the Ruger MK4 versions give you the most flexibility for the best price. If you dont care about optics the S&W M&P22 compact is also a very good deal.
So you think getting a bottom rail to top rail adapter is better in that case?
Example of what I'm talking about
Apparently it has really sketchy reviews: http://www.amazon.com/Mako-Universal-Picatinny-Mount-Pistols/product-reviews/B004O6CDV0/
I think that 'Glock tactical scope mount' relies on the relative position of the factory Glock gen 3 and 4 rail to the frame. It looks like there's a little rod that needs to go through the Glock's frame, replacing one of the pins. If the Gen 1 & 2 picatinny mount put the rail in exactly the same place that Glock puts the factory gen 3 and 4 rail, it'll work, otherwise it won't.
The other product I linked earlier (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004O6CDV0/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=1944579862&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B0010DQ21M&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1WK5WS27TRXVXF65KQJ3) will work with the gen 1 and 2 picatinny mount.
Again, I warn you: this is going to be a frustrating project, and the people on the internet will think it is silly when you show it to them.
I have this Caldwell brass catcher. I've only used it once and wasn't super happy with it, but I think it's because I just slapped it on without making much of an effort. It holds about 30 casings, but I'd go with the Pic rail one because it has a larger opening
It's different than a real EOTech.
This is the one I've got http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004TDIDW6
These are for real steel guns, and feel really solid, I have no doubt they'll work on GBBRs, but I have an aeg, so I can't base that on personal experience.
I have a Sightmark Ultra Shot QD and it's fantastic. Big glass, multiple reticle, really solid, bright(works in direct sunlight), qd works. I'm very happy with it.
They also make a non-digital non-qd version that's even cheaper, but I really like the QD.
Good luck
Ok I get that some people like to spend $ on top quality stuff an Aimpoint Pro is pricy... considering the Sport M&P goes for $750-$800 range the damn sight is half the price!! If you are honestly gonna use the rifle to just go to the range and practice or something other than non warfare activities consider a sight more cost efficient... Don't sleep on something like a Sightmark I have it on my M&P 15 OR and its legit! Yes I'll eventually get an EOtech when I have the funds but something expensive as fuck just to start off with if silly IMO... if you want a picture on how my Sightmak looks on my rifle PM me.
Well so far I like the two I've bought. The Sightmark Ultra Shot Sight QD Digital Switch (SM14000) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004TDIDW6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Now I'll start out by saying I've never used an Eotech or Aimpoint and probably never will as I can never see dropping more on a red dot/holgraphic sight than I nearly spent on my rifle. If you can afford it and can justify it and want it go for it. But if your looking for a budget red dot, look at the Sightmark. I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for not picking Primary Arms, Holosun or similar, but they weren't what I was looking for.The two I've got, one's on an AR15 and ones on a AR-9. They were both bought for use in 2 and 3 gun competitions on an outdoor range in bright sunny Florida. I had tried several sights before, Truglo, Trs-25 and found them all to be too dim even on the brightest setting during the day time and the dots to be too small for rapid target acquisition especially in bright sunshine. The Sightmark even on a lower brightness setting was easily usable in the bright Florida sun. Using the 50 MOA circle around the 3MOA dot makes it easy to pick up and engage those close targets rapidly and still accurately on those out to 100-150 yards. I like it and so far even on the AR9 which has a lot more felt recoil it has held up with no problem. I may even buy a third one for another rifle. Hell I'm still not up to spending what even one Eotech would cost me.
Sightmark Ultra Shot Reflex Sight QD Digital Switch
Bottom line is I don't expect to go to war tomorrow, Don't want to spend what a monthly car payment would be on a sight and don't expect to be dropping my rifle from 10 feet onto hard concrete. It has worked without problems for me so far, it's cheap enough I could but four for the price of one Eotech and it does what I need it to do.
I'm planning on picking up a Sightmark Ultra Shot w/digital switch for mine, I've heard a lot of good things about it and you don't need a separate mount.
It's the Hogue Handall Hybrid: http://www.amazon.com/Hogue-Handall-Hybrid-Ruger-Sleeve/dp/B004Y8AYGE
I really recommend it, it makes a world of difference on the LCP.
I had the same mindset as OP until recently. I finally got down to a smaller frame Kahr PM40. Carried it for a couple years but it was to large for me to really pocket carry.
I recently traded my wife's Taurus .38 for the Ruger LCP and I was very disappointed. It felt cheap and I couldn't shoot it to save my life. I've always really loved Ruger; so I did some research and decided to make some minor adjustments.
Added a Hogue Sleeve, a Clip extension and a Laser Max. A little over a $100 and it completely transformed the gun for me. I highly recommend for those times that a larger frame firearm isn't ideal.
Your OG LCP is a great little gun. Add a grip sleeve to make it more pleasant to shoot.
I have the mk III version of the same gun, and it is my favorite one to shoot. I have pulled off some crazy trick shots with the stock sights on that thing, and I've even put a few different sights on the rail and used it to control squirrel populations at long distances.
Get an ultimate clip loader and you'll love it even more: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B004YF931Y
I use one of these. It's a bit pricier, but loads Mk II/III magazines extremely fast, without the risk of denting cases by snapping the follower shut.
Of course, that's only when it works. The Cliploader chokes on some types of ammo, depending on whether it is copper coated or not, and what sort of lubricant (if any) is used on lead round nose.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004YF931Y/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details
Loads a .22LR clip in 5 seconds and without any sore thumbs.
Course, it's mainly for Mark IIIs, so not applicable everywhere...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004YF931Y?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00
This thing is awesome. I use it on my 22/45 Lite. Loads them in seconds.
VooDoo Tactical 20-9421001000 Buttstock Cheek Piece With Ammo Carrier, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007FTARKM/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_63gEybN9NRE49
Comes in 4 different colors. Ammo carrier is really just for show for 10/22.
The straps are too long but I folded them over and placed the ammo holder over them. Other redditors have cut the straps and modified by sewing to fit the 10/22 better. I don't have a sewing machine and can't sew by hand so not really a option for me right now.
I like the cheek rest though my eye lines up with the scope perfectly now. There may be a better fitting one out there for a 10/22 haven't really looked though.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007FTARKM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_tEYDwbWSANXMD was referred this by a friend who has a cyma ebr. Works like a champ. Gonna order myself one.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007FTARKM/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The straps are a little long but not bad. Also it's adjustable but by that it means there's a roll of foam in it that you cut off a little at a time until it's where you want it. It's got a nice little pouch which I'll end up putting a dope card in and it's also got a shell holder. Both held on with Velcro.
And for $16 it's solid
Not positive if it's the same model but it's 89.99 free shipping with prime on Amazon for the black version. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NC1G0KI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_gfeaCb01E6HY4 sorry for the long link, on mobile and can't remember how to format.

Older model so so with as you will.
Holosun micro red dots are very lightweight and have battery lives approaching aim points. Almost all are sub-$200 and some models have solar panels that will work in daylight even without a battery. My brother has been using one on an AR for two or three years with no issues.

Hiding a gun from your kid is just about the least responsible thing you can do.
Teach them gun safetey. Teach them how to operate the firearm. Teach them to treat any gun like it is loaded, even if it is taken apart.
And then, after all of that, you are still irresponsible if you don't keep a lock on it or keep it in a safe. It isn't hard. Shit, the police department in my small conservative hometown has been giving away free gun locks for the past decade. You can just walk into any fire station or police department here and ask for one. Walk out seconds later no questions asked. And even if your local PD doesn't do that, if you can afford a gun then you can afford a $5 gun lock.
Holosun makes some inexpensive but quality red dots.

Sorry for the ugly link. I'm on mobile. Here's one of my favorite locations http://m.imgur.com/a/dZBSv.
Used on that Glock 17 and a Beretta 92fs for a year or so with no issue. If you use two mounted vertically on a shim to extend past the handguard, you can hang an AR with a loaded 30rd just by the barrel. I love these things.
You can get a Vortex Micro Dot on amazon for like $130, good enough to run and you'll have money left over for a trigger

Forgot what kind of sling I got. It's nothing fancy. The eagle magazine had some weird plastic bit on it to "assist" is removing the mag but it prevented it from fitting. One swift hit with a large rock took it right off though.
Also avoid Remington golden bullets. I say it all the time but they are crap. I had jams every 5-10 rounds. I'm currently using federal's bulk ammo and haven't had a single bad round.

Isn't that a Harris? Am I missing something? I thought Harris Engineering bipods were regarded as excellent quality, considered "bulletproof", and cost around $90.
How married to the Remington brand are you? They make a fine rifle, but you can get more for your dollar elsewhere.

This Bipod
Go nuts.
This one in link. It does “tilt” side to side so you can level on uneven ground. I put the bigger handle on it to tighten it down. I leave it just loose enough so that I can tilt with a little force when needed.

Nah, a new one is ~100 bucks more, but a used one works just as well.
Honestly if you specifically need/want a holo-sight I would save up. $115 is not that much more for a huge jump in quality: http://www.amazon.com/EOTech-512-A65-Tactical-HOLOgraphic-Batteries/dp/B000KKFVRC
Buy once cry once.
Damn that's a lot of 22s! I really enjoy the 795. I used the iron sights for 2 months or so, but got tired of them. I bought a Barska 3-9x Plinker scope, and it's pretty great, though a little blurry at the higher powers.
It's a 3-9x32... not sure of the exact model number. Here's the link to amazon where I got it. Seems to have gotten good reviews. http://www.amazon.com/Barska-AC10380-BARSKA-Plinker-22-Riflescope/dp/B001JJCHWK/
Ok.. Decided on the cheap scope and bought the weaver 24 rails.
This is the scope

I thought I didn't need to buy rings, but I guess the scope comes with the wrong type of rings.
So now I'm looking at rings like these:

Very pleased with the scope for $40..
look at the fourth image this isn't the same scope but it's similar and should give you an idea what I mean.
For under $100, you're probably better off getting a Magpul MOE handguard, and separate MOE rail sections.
Daniel Defense EZ Car drop-in's are also pretty nice, but run about $160.
Magpul L5 MOE Rail Section, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003F6IQEI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_hpyXzbFEBF4R6
This wouldn't work?
Yes, Magpul L5, Polymer. They are very cheap on Amazon
I believe I bought this magpul L5
If I need one for a carbine length upper would this one be fine?
That's an incredibly good deal and a great gun. I have one and it is my first and only AR. No regrets at all! If you want a really cheap way to mount a light to it, you can get this on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003F6IQEI/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1480275814&sr=8-2&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=picatinny+rail&dpPl=1&dpID=31D45Qah33L&ref=plSrch. It's $8 and really easy to install. It allowed me to mount my TLR1 on the bottom of my AR without having to buy a quad rail!
If the rail is for a hand grip, you can just get this Magpul MVG (not the RVG) and that can attach straight to the hand guard (follow this video). But, if you plan on putting anything on the side, get a couple of these and follow pretty much the same steps as you would attach an MVG.
One of the best ways to feel more comfortable with your carry piece is to train and to wear it.
Wear it around at home. You'll get used to the feeling and eventually you won't notice it - you'll just notice it when it's not there.
Also train. Train train train. Shoot at the range at least once a month. Get a training round (they have other calibers) and train at home. You can use the training round to work on your draw from conceal, trigger control, and all around accuracy. You'll feel a lot more comfortable with your carry piece when you know you can quickly draw your sidearm without fumbling for it.
As for carry locations, I'm a guy - and other people have already spoken on that topic. So I'd listen to them, not me on that.
There's a laser insert i use that's pretty awesome and has no rim for the extractor to catch. Great for drawing and shooting and it puts a quick red flash on what you hit.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004NKY23E
As others have ssid, dry fire practice. And while snap caps are nice.
I'd recommend this instead.
For knowing everything you're doing is correct there's nothing like real time feedback.
I use mine constantly and it translates to live fire accuracy in profound ways.
I say invest in these:
https://www.amazon.com/Laserlyte-Laser-Trainer-9-mm-Cartridge/dp/B004NKY23E
They helped my shooting more than anything. They even have targets that make it like a game. When I started, live ammo was actually reinforcing some bad habits. I began anticipating and jerking the trigger. I would leave the range more frustrated than when I started, and it felt like a waste of money. Laserlyte cartridges helped me work on the fundamentals like drawing, presenting, sight alignment, and trigger pull. The best part was I could practice every day in the house. They made me a better shooter in days.
There's a few options. If you want something that will keep your gun in factory condition, you can get a picatinny rail mount. You could also get a dovetail mount that would take the place of your rear sights like this. However, my recommendation would be to send your slide to the folks at Jagerwerks, or somewhere similar, and have your slide milled for the red dot you want. I personally recommend the milling route if it's in your budget. And, if you can't afford couple hundo for JW, IMO you can't afford a red dot. The difference between a custom milled slide with Trijicon RMR vs. a dovetail mounted lower end red dot is palpable.
One of these universals might work. https://www.amazon.com/Mako-Universal-Picatinny-Mount-Pistols/dp/B004O6CDV0
That way you dont lose your rear sight. These have fallen out of favor, but they do work.
Would using something like this upside down work?
https://www.amazon.com/Mako-Universal-Picatinny-Mount-Pistols/dp/B004O6CDV0
the only caniks that come optic ready are the sfx and the elite combat, and elite sc. you would have to have the slide milled to accommodate a plate, then could probably use a plate from any of those other 3 models.
edit: you could do something silly, and put one of these Mako Universal Picatinny Rail Mount Fits Most Pistols on
Mako Universal Picatinny Rail Mount might handle the RMR, looks like some people have had trouble with it shaking loose under recoil. Bonus: it would probably add enough clearance for the TLR-1HL and Osprey to co-exist.
Under $10
There are better ones, but this is cheap and pretty much universal
Using a subsonic round might help? Action cycling slower less velocity for the brass to eject. a product similar to https://www.amazon.com/Caldwell-122231-Brass-Catcher/dp/B004SKCUME might help as well.
An easier solution is to just attach some sort of brass catcher.
This is a cheap example, though somewhat bulky.
use a brass catcher next time
Could you link one of those that you are looking at? I think the ones you're looking at are of the same design of the one I own and I thought the same thing you did before buying it. I have a Caldwell and it uses a pretty heavy velcro srap that goes around the handguard then has a heavy wire frame that holds the mesh over your ejection port. it doesn't actually come in contact with either the shell deflector or dust cover, it just looks like it does.
Hard to tell but it could be one of those Sightmarks.
http://www.amazon.com/Sightmark-Ultra-Sight-Digital-Switch/dp/B004TDIDW6
I got this puppy a while back to try out for my AR.
Threw it on my airsoft rfile and it works like a dream. Took a BB to the glass first time out and cracked but it still holds a zero no problem.
I carry an LCP. For me, it got a whole hell of a lot more comfortable to shoot when I got these cheap upgrades:
Hogue grip
Grip extension
Recoil Spring
I also put a laser on mine, which I haven't replaced the battery on. It provides even more grip, as I can place my offhand thumb onto the wider trigger guard that the laser attachment provides.
It's still not a delight to shoot, but it got a lot easier for me when I got the aforementioned items.
Have you tried adding one of the Hogue grips to the LCP?
http://www.amazon.com/Hogue-Handall-Hybrid-Ruger-Sleeve/dp/B004Y8AYGE
It's supposed to be a significant improvement to how it feels in your hand. I haven't tried one yet, but it's on my list.
https://www.amazon.com/Combination-POCKET-Holster-Keltec-CC3/dp/B008UGE6B0
I use this for my LCP. Works great, I can run with it, sit down comfortably.
I also suggest checking out a grip for it. Makes a huge difference how it feels in my hand.
https://www.amazon.com/Hogue-Handall-Hybrid-Ruger-Sleeve/dp/B004Y8AYGE
if you are really set on a Kel-Tec P32 i would strongly encourge you to get a Ruger LCP, mine has been very reliable over years. i found one for $190 with free shipping the LCP uses the more powerful .380 ACP cartridge instead of .32 auto. real defensive loads exist for .380 such as Federal HST Micro. if you get the LCP i would recomend getting the Hogue rubber grip sleeve for it. the hogue grip makes the grip a bit wider and really helps spread out of the felt recoil. you could also look at the lcp II it is wider than the LCP one and has better sights.
you will want a good holster, one that covers the trigger and one the gun wont fall out when completely inverted. the "safety" here is the holster, by protecting the trigger you are preventing the gun from firing. in addition the guns have a long heavy trigger pull, these guns do not have "hair tiggers" that will go off with little more than a stiff breeze...
the sights on these guns are milled into the slide, they are not adjustable. getting shots on target is not a problem, if you know what you are doing. you have likely seen something like this before proper sight alignment Well with guns like these micro pocket pistols with the sights milled into the slide that "proper sight picture" goes out the window. your sight picture will look like anyone of these except for the top one. but thats is fine because the bullets will hit the center of the target. my LCP shoots low, i make the bottom of my front sight post level with the rear sights and i can hold 3-4 inch groups at 15 yards. my friends LCP shoots to the left, so i make the front sight bias the right side of the notch and then the gun shoots straight. the sights on these things work, they are just not intuitive. accuracy seems very ammo dependent with these tiny guns so try lots of brands.
Yes but it is such a very comfortable gun to carry around.
RECOMMEND:
Hogue grip
upgrade the recoil spring to 13 pounds
upgrade to sweat pea trigger
It will be like night and day for that gun. I promise.
Ruger be all the way. Eats everything I've ever ran through it. But the biggest benefit is the mag loader called the cliploader
It says it works with buckmark mags but something about the mag shape didn't work right for me, maybe it will work for you. It definitely works with Ruger mags and can really help you burn through some .22 quickly!
KMK-678. Very nice.
Now get your booger hooks on these items.
Yes! I'm assuming they're practically the same as Buckmark mags... Do you hold down the follower when you put them in or just push them in from the top? I just use my left thumb to push down the follower while I load with my right hand and the rounds drop right in.
You can also buy a cheap "speedloader" that does the same thing, like this one, but if you can figure out how to use your thumb there's no real advantage as far as I can tell. Another option, which I would already own by now if I weren't such a cheap bastard, is this Ultimate "Clip" Loader. I've used something similar for 10/22 mags and they make reloading MUCH faster. Very simple to use as well.
It's a Vodoo Tactical, got it from amazon.ca
Edit: https://www.amazon.ca/Voodoo-Tactical-Padded-Stabilizer-Rifle/dp/B007FTARKM
Ok awesome, that's great to hear. How do you like the stock? I've heard that's the thing I've heard that people don't like. I was thinking about getting the Boyds Tacticool stock. I also thought about getting a cheek riser and painting the stock myself.
I got one of these off a buddy for free and threw it on my 10/22 before switching it over to a cheap .223 bolt gun. The ammo carrier velcros on. https://www.amazon.com/Voodoo-Tactical-Adjustable-Buttstock-Carrier/dp/B007FTARKM
The actual cheek rest is a piece of dense foam rolled into a cylinder, so it's easy to cut it down to whatever height you need.
Cheap voodoo tactical I found on amazon I modified to actually work really well!

Red dot then add a 3x flip up magnifier if you find yourself actually shooting at 300 yards often.
Holosun red dot
https://www.amazon.com/HOLOSUN-HS403A-Micro-Red-Sight/dp/B00KOOEZ6W/ref=sr_1_3?s=sports-and-fitness&ie=UTF8&qid=1510950778&sr=1-3&keywords=holosun&dpID=41sEuJwjs8L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
Well reviewed "budget" red dot. 50,000 (!!!) hour battery life so you can leave the red dot on all the time and only change the battery every couple years, great for HD.
For a magnifier, the vortex are reputed to be good, larue makes an excellent one, just get whatever you like

I have the Holosun HS403a on my 300blk "pistol". Love it. Great optic.
I got it before they were the 'hot' new thing for $125 shipped on Amazon direct from Holosun. They are now up to $171 shipped.
http://www.amazon.com/HOLOSUN-Micro-Red-Sight-Riser/dp/B00KOOEZ6W
I'd buy that again in a heart beat, more expensive and all.
Holosun Red Dots are supposed to be the nuts, it's what I'm going to get as an alternative to my visionking scope. Smack bang in the middle of your price range at $162.00, classic AR15 style aimpoint clone:
https://www.amazon.com/HOLOSUN-HS403A-Micro-Red-Sight/dp/B00KOOEZ6W
Loads of people are using them on RS as a budget aimpoint alternative.
For cheapness you can get a Fieldsport Micro Dot from amazon for $20 and a UTG Riser Mount. I do not recommend using these sights without a riser.
If you want to spend some actual cash on a really good optic I recommend either a primary arms T1 and riser or a [Holosun] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NC1G0KI/ref=dp_cerb_2). Dutch uses a Primary Arms but IMO the holosun is probably the best budget real steel optic on the market.
I personally like to Co-witness with irons especially ones that are as minimal as the Scorpions are. They are great sights on their own and stay out of the way when using a red dot. That being said, I went from a Vortex Sparc II that I LOVED. For the price you might want to look into these as well!
Of the options you're talking about, I would definitely go with the Holosun. The Spitfire would be HUGE on a Scorpion and the Eotech is just a little too bulky for the platform. Both of those would negate having such a small gun imo. I'm going to swap over to an RMR because its small and light and gets the exact same job done without being in the way at all. I might even do a Vortex Viper since their warranty is great and its like 1/2 the price of even the cheapest RMR.
I've used Holosuns in the past and I've found them to be every bit as good as an Aimpoint for what I'm using it for. They're awesome and cheap as hell. Even these Primary Arms red dots are incredible for the price. If you don't care about push button operation and are fine with a little dial to adjust brightness, you can get the same thing for like $90!
for some reason the Primary arms link isnt working, also, Amazon has a basic version of that primary arms micro for $90
Im watching several reviews on different options right now. Still looking for a budget handguard as well.

one thing i recommend is that your but stock is skinny or it messes with the mask and looking down your sights
https://www.amazon.com/HOLOSUN-HS403C-Solar-Power-Micro/dp/B00U2KMVCI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1498136089&sr=8-1&keywords=holosun+solar
$150 for the original
edit: And solar
I'm not talking about safes. I mean a cable gun lock. Every new rifle I've seen has something like this and the pictures in the description show you how to use it for a revolver, bolt action rifle, semi-auto pistol and rifle.
While I'm sure you could take some bolt cutters to it (haven't tried), using a lock even like this will prevent children from tampering with the gun. (Also be sure to store your ammunition in a safe place that is out of reach of said children).
Skip the holder and use a gun safety lock. I hang my helmet on left peg and attach the cable to the frame.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B010IBDS04/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1486585663&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=Gun+cable+lock&dpPl=1&dpID=31v31Ln4VjL&ref=plSrch
I use this if I don't take my helmet in with me. Stops honest people, not someone with serious malicious intent.

Vortex SPARC AR
Or
Primary Arms Advanced Micro Dot
Or
HOLOSUN HS403B
All are good, but for the prices the Primary Arms or Holosun are a better bet due to the 50k hours battery life.
Then buy a lightweight magnifier with QD mount so you can either leave it on our take it off depending on your current setup or shooting preference.
That's all pretty much in the $300 range for both the dot and the magnifier.
Optics are not necessary, it really depends on your preference. AKs have (arguably) some of the worst iron sights of all rifles, that's why I recommended a optic. Some people use irons, some don't even aim at all, they just shoot and correct. I personally use a red dot.
Most people tend to use replica Aimpoint T1 red dots. We commonly recommend saving a little more and getting a low end real steel optic like the Bushnell, Primary Arms, or Holosun. All of these are based on the T1 design, are are meant to function on real firearms.
I rather meant something like this HOLOSUN Hs403b Micro red dot Optik (2 moa) https://www.amazon.de/dp/B01BJ3ZXD0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_741xDb6R9KE1C versus https://www.begadi.com/zielhilfen/reddots-pointsights/begadi-acog-style-reddot-schwarz.html

403B

Worked brilliantly on my AR, comes with cowitness riser for Ars with a2 front sight posts.
I went with this due to its insane battery life and cost. Cant afford much more than the holosun line.
I have not even shot it on the AK yet. The optics mount just came in last night.
https://smile.amazon.com/Magnetic-Mount-Holster-Vehicle-Home/dp/B01LXCJHKG
First, not my EDC. I carried it today because I was feeling good and wanted to ride with my Deagle by my side. It's my pride and joy. So yes it bugs me.
It stays very well, I mount it right in front of the safety switch where its balanced and has a lot of surface area to hit the magnet. I've slammed on my brakes and gone over speed bumps and it sticks just fine.
It's a 4 inch long, 35lb rated magnet. Not the biggest, but shes strong. https://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Mount-Holster-Vehicle-Home/dp/B01LXCJHKG
This one is my favorite. It takes a good pull to get your gun off of it, if it gets knocked or moved around nothing is coming lose. Its rubberized and no exposed metal and the screws come with it and they're recessed so they don't scrape the gun. There's also the "Ironmount" which I've seen some people on /k/ recommend but I own that one as well and in my experience it takes less strength to remove your gun from it.
Get a different bipod and mount if you want to lighten up the front, like this one. You will lighten up more than if you went with a shorter handguard. Course you could do both, but I would start with the bipod and mount first.
I really like this one for my AR-6.5
UTG Recon Flex M-LOK(R) Bipod, Matte Black, Cent. Ht. 5.7"-8" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071RS3QJS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_tllWBbQFSBQ9X
Seems plenty sturdy for civilian applications
It could be a pain if you have a cheap case with thin padding, or have some really challenging ground to setup on, but it works fabulously on my shooting table and mostly smooth ground.
That mates with an AimSports rail I got from primary. I REALLY like that rail. Easiest attachment to the barrel nut I’ve done on any AR I’ve built.
This is for sale on amazon for $130. I would do $100 shipped? I don’t want the MI mount
crossfire
USGI sling can be found here.
If you choose to buy elsewhere, be sure to buy cotton, not nylon. Nylon has a tendency to slip, especially in the loop configuration you'll learn at Appleseed.
You'll also need sling swivels and sling studs. You can get them as a set here.
Tip for installing the studs on your synthetic stock: Start with a small drill bit about 1/2 half the size of the screw on the stud. Pre-drill holes in the stock. Insert a nail through the sling stud and twist it into the stock until the holes are perpendicular to the bore.
You're all set. Good luck and happy shooting.

>The question is if that financial hardship imposed by the law is worth the benefit of fewer stolen guns and fewer kids being accidentally shot. Both are big problems:
>
>> Researchers estimate that more than half a million firearms are lost or stolen from private residences each year.
Can you explain how and or why you think a law which only requires a trigger lock or the cheapest bike chain imaginable that weighs less than half a pound to be on a gun will or would stop a theif?
How exactly does something that weighs less than a roll of quarters stop firearms from being stolen?
You could place a gun on the ledge of your street facing window with that cheap chain through it and be in compliance with the law.
>and

>> From 2005 to 2014, roughly 20,000 American minors were killed or seriously injured in accidental shootings; the majority of those killed in these tragic accidents were aged 12 or younger.
How many minors in Washington State were killed due to an unattended and unlocked firearm in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, or 2017? Please by all means cherry pick the year with the highest number. Go back 10 years if you must.
The term "accidental shooting" also includes scenarios like hunting accidents and a number of other scenarios where a trigger lock wouldn't have done anything to prevent the accident.
If you want to use statistics and numbers to prove your point then shouldn't you actually provide the number of incidents in our state where a child would or could have been saved if a trigger lock had been installed?
If you don't actually have those numbers then why are you trying to use nation wide statistics for accidental shootings to show how a trigger lock being required would make individuals safer?
