There's a Zelda themed one on Amazon for $20, it's pretty slick. Scroll through the pics to get to it, it comes with a Mario themed plate as well so all the first few pics are of the Mario plate

I haven't purchased this yet (mostly because it is a manual install and i know i would break everything), but I really really really want to:

You need an adapter to use PS4 or Xbox one controllers on the Switch. This is the one I use - https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Controller-Adapter-Nintendo-Raspberry/dp/B07B7LMM52/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1538949510&sr=8-1&keywords=8bitdo+switch+adapter
it's not a dock, it's actually a light that sits underneath your dock.
Hence why adapters like this and this are already a thing.
If you have $30 and a little patience, you can also do it yourself by swapping the joycon case and keeping the internals. It's a little tricky but not difficult at all.

Here is mine:
Nintendo Switch with white joycons
Ill build two routes handheld gaming and docked.
Docked
Switch - $300
Pro Controller -$65
Legend of Zelda BOTW - 44.99
Mario Kart 8 -$55
Total - $ 464.00
Handheld
Switch - $300
Legend of Zelda BOTW - 44.99
Nintendo Official Wall Charger - $28 (I choose this because I am very picky about power options with consoles and I know this will function)
Switch Case - $15 (This can be hit or miss a lot of people love butterfox but my two smelled like shit and opted for a better version, but for the price it is unbeatable, worth the risk of the smell)
Mario Kart 8 -$55
Total - $443
Games can be changed in and out but imo BOTW is the best game on the switch and Mario Kart 8 is loads of fun. I personally do not have a pro controller, mainly because I play strictly handheld but from what I have been told it is a must for docked gameplay.
Edit: In the future you are going to need a SD card. Especially if you are going the Digital route, again personally I prefer physical and the at of collecting the games but that is me.
The Tomtoc case is pretty good. It's very very sturdy and it's also the slimmest I found.

This is a case by PDP. I have found 3 in this style so far with different designs. Each can hold 14 game carts!
The one above (as part of the starter kit, also sold separately):

This things d-pad is great. It works with any game that doesn't require control sticks.
Edit: This is only useful for playing stages. The editor has functions bound to the control sticks.

I use this one. The flap inside is just wide enough to protect the screen. And spacious enough.
I prefer this Mario themed case with a more interesting design and better layout for your cartridges that you can see the titles of and not have to place into hard plastic cases and then shove into a zipperpouch that sits on top of the screen when closed (at least I think that's how it works)
Atomic purple.
They suck fat dick. Do yourself a favor and get metallic latches and replace those ASAP. I also had two break on me after normal use. Worst plastic pieces of shit I've ever dealt with.

Where there's a will there's a way.
Even if it doesn't work that well it'd still be worth it if you can pull even a single win with a wiimote.
[New Model] ButterFox Carrying Case... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075PVC8WR?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf this is what I’m using and it’s perfect for traveling.
how do u play 4 player on any system without 'breaking the bank' ? if anything the switch is the cheapest 4 player option yet in any system ever lol. unless you want to go ahead and buy 4 ps4 controllers or 4 xbox elite controllers.
well since you're really broke just buy 2 pokken controllers they cost $17 each and work fine for mario kart.
Definitely a Screen Protector
A Travelling Case would be nice.
I also added Dr Scholls Moleskin to the front of my dock to reduce the risk of scratching the screen protector. (Two small strips on the parts inside the dock that are raised.)
A Memory Card also helps for the digital only games.
What color Switch did you get? I got the grey switch then bought a pair of Red Joycons and another pair of Blue Joycons. So in total I have a grey, red, and blue L Joycon and a grey, red, and blue R Joycon.
If you got the grey switch and then buy the [two color Joycon packs] (https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Joy-Con-Neon-Neon-Blue/dp/B01N6QJ58Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493753597&sr=8-2&keywords=blue+joycons) then you won't be able to get one of each color for L/R without over paying. This is because the [two color Joycon packs] (https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Joy-Con-Neon-Neon-Blue/dp/B01N6QJ58Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493753597&sr=8-2&keywords=blue+joycons) are always Red L and Blue R.
If you bought a neon switch, then buy the [two color Joycon pack] (https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Joy-Con-Neon-Neon-Blue/dp/B01N6QJ58Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493753597&sr=8-2&keywords=blue+joycons) and a pair of Grey Joycons for all combinations.
Also, don't buy Joycons on Amazon, they are stupid expensive right now.
I don't have a pro controller yet, but people seem to love it.
Games:
Zelda = Must Buy
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe = Must Buy
1-2 Switch = Great for parties/friends
Snipperclips = Great for people who don't play games often (girlfriends/parents/kids). Secret here is to not explain how to play/what to do and let them have fun and try to figure out the puzzles on their own. Act like a support character and you'll have a blast watching them.
Binding of Isaac = I love this game, but put countless hours on the PC version. Mature themes
Super Bomberman R = Classic mode with easy CPUs is fun for roommates. I haven't played through the adventure mode yet.
Wonderboy = Cute/Fun side scroller.
Has Been Heroes = I don't have this yet, apparently very difficult.
Other notes:
I started collecting amiibos after getting a switch (Be very careful, it's easy to get addicted and drop a ton of money here).
I got a Joycon charging dock since the only way to charge extra pairs of Joycons without the Joycon charging dockis to rotate them in and out of the switch while it charges/docked.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
PS I love the Switch so much. It's definitely my favorite console ever.
Commenting again since my link was flagged by an auto-mod.
This case is the one I'm picking up. Doesn't have indents for triggers, but it's hardshell and come with some game card and SD card cases as well.

Tempered glass screen protector is a must IMHO.
You'll see many naysayers who say they've had their switches since day one, work at a concrete factory and cut diamonds with their switches and have no scratches.
Plain and simple, the switch screen is plastic. Plastic scratches easily. Well worth the $8 investment. I use the amfilm one, but the orzly has excellent reviews as well.
PowerA makes a nice dock that charges a pro controller and set of joycons.
One more thing, you'll want a microsd card. Even if buying all physical.
Get whichever is cheaper of these two.

128GB Sandisk Ultra MicroSD Card

If you don’t mind a little DIY, you can replace the shells of the joycons with transparent ones! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075JBBFSL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_njeNAbQ46WDE8
What about this one?
Big for the AC adapter, holds the switch in the middle and not the seams where the joycons attach, this is the one I’m getting.

I love my tomtoc slim case. It really is ultra thin as advertised, but it is extremely durable in case you drop it. I also like it has specific spaces for buttons and sticks, because when coupled with its durability you don’t have buttons being pushed with pressure (something I have noticed that happens with other cases).
I’ve traveled with it numerous times. No complaints whatsoever.
Happy cake day!
Here's a link.
I use the Hori DPad joy con replacement for playing in handheld.
Haven’t a solution for docked yet, I use the 8bitdo dongle that allows me to connect a PS4 DualShock to my switch.
I’ve heard the Pokken controller is quite good, as is some of the offerings from 8bitdo.

A fight pad coming soon made by PowerA looks like what your after. I’ll be picking it up - Power A Fight Pad
These are the best controllers I've found for Nintendo DS and Playstation 1 on Retropie. On DS you can configure the right thumbstick to do the stylus for games that need it. The dual thumbsticks are also critical for games that use both, like Robotron, Smash TV and Assault.
If you only need older systems then I like the Horri Pokken.

Personally, for me, I believe that the best case is the Sheikah Slate that comes with BotW SE. EB and Best Buy both said that they will have it, so be on the look out for them, cuz amazon is out.
The same case, with different designs, is made by PDP. You can get them via these links: 1, 2, 3, 4.
This one is quite close to the Sheikah Slate as well, but it doesn't ship to where I am, so I'm not sure it would ship to you.
PDP also has this amazing looking soft canvas cases if you're interested: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
You could also go with Hori hard case, which is ugly af, but looks extremely sturdy. But then the actual case from Nintendo (it's not available yet, just wait for it I guess?) is quite close to the Hori one as well, I guess.
I'm throwing all those links at you, because, I have NO idea who Biogenik are and a quick Google doesn't result in anything positive about them.
As for screen protector, for me generally, any film protector would make the screen look worse. They are also a lot more likely to get scratches than the screen alone. I'd recommend a tempered glass screen protector if you get one at all. Here are some, one from Orzly, and one from CaseBase. Orzly seems like the better choice since you get 2, and their other tempered glass protectors are very highly rated.
This is what I use.
HORI Nintendo Switch Real Arcade Pro V Hayabusa
I recently got into fighting games this year and picked this up. A bit pricey compared to the ones you list but I think its worth it. I play on both PC and Switch. Not sure about the 8bitdo Arcade stick, but I've heard the Mayflash is a solid entry level stick.
This is a Legends of Zelda one I got when I got my switch, Amazon link is super long and idk how to embed so apologies for long link

looks like this (amazon link)
I see a few other case options on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MT8XY4V (Bundle)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4NWKRI (Bundle)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4O0392 (Just a case)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N10SBT4 (Just a case)
I have the same one with a Breath of the Wild design and I can not reccomend it enough. All the other cases I kept seeing everywhere were crappy soft cases that I wasn't confident carrying my switch around in, but this one is really solid. I've been lugging it around everywhere for the past 2 months and it's held up great.
I’ve got the Sheikah Eye traveler case in blue. It holds the Switch plus joy cons (has indentations for the back of the joy cons to rest in too), 8 game carts (or 6 plus 2 micro SD cards), and the top has enough room for my earbuds and probably a small battery and charging cable too. It’s really cute and sturdy, and I’d definitely recommend it for your girlfriend.
Butterfox has a new version of their case which is pretty much perfect. They addressed the "getting the Switch out" issue. I own 3 different cases and it's the best one, hands down.

Don't go dual. It creates a very unnecessarily close gaming experience.
Now, if you really want to do this right grab one of these cases from ParadiseArcadeShop.com. By the looks of it, there's more than enough room to toss an encased Raspberry Pi into the housing too.
From there, you can get any number of Sanwa parts to pop in place.
If you want to go a completely alternate route ... the 8Bitdo N30 stick is wireless (bluetooth), pairs with RetroPie easily, and allows for Sanwa part upgrades.
Again, unless you're confined to an arcade cabinet, using a dual stick really sucks. You're bumping shoulders with your friend all day in a room that has so much space for activities.
Also, don't be intimidated by the wiring. It's all plug and play. No electrical or soldering experience needed at all.
I have this. It's great, but only holds one pro...

I put my switch in a tomtoc case and carry it in my Aldo leather bag
Just to make sure, its this one right?
I dont understand how a travel case can do that. Looks nice too!
For the joycon, I have this and it's pretty great if you're comfortable opening up your joycon. For a separate controller, I second the 8bitdo SNES controller recommendation!
Is the clip that retains the controller in place damaged? If that is the cause, you can replace that.

You can buy a replacement latch for the broken joycon on Amazon. $9.99 for 2 latches and every tool you need to do it. It OEM latch is a cheap small piece of plastic that is very easily chipped. Once chipped the joycon won't sit snug on the switch itself. The amazon replacement latches are metal and work fantastic in the two joycons I've swapped them out in. Link to latches
if curious, IIRC it is the 8bitdo adapter that is pretty commonly suggested around here.

this works
I agree the color looks cool, that's why I'm really tempted to buy this
But I would keep the original buttons because I hate the Super Famicom colors. Purple ones like the SNES would be perfect, and concave X et Y would be the icing on top.
Yeah they’ve got them for the console itself and the joycons it looks real nice

Amazon has SKUs for all of those types. See here for instance.
No I mean the ones where both are either red or blue, rather than one being red, the other being blue. These are what I'm referring to.

I have both the gel guards and the harder plastic armor guards. They both feel pretty good while adding some protection when lying your switch down and also the added bulk on the back of the grips really helps you hold onto the switch better. I do find that I like the gel grips better as the armor guards are more open (which I like) but can get in way of trigger buttons more which I don't like as much. Also the armor guards feel a bit loose at times but still for pretty smug, the gel guards do feel better in the hands and seem to fit better although they cover mover of the controller so the buttons are like half covered. This is mostly only a problem with the plus and minus buttons the rest are still easy to press. Also I prefer the joystick covers that come with the gel guards as they are silicon and have a better grip than the armor guards ones which are most plastic feeling and kinda slippery. I would say they both are def worth getting depending on your play style and the pros and cons I listed.
Here's a link to the gel guards I have. You can find them at most stores too instead of Amazon if you like.

No. They have not mentioned or hinted at a Zelda themed switch. In fact, they haven't hinted at ANY kind of themed switch. All we've gotten is joycon colors.
But PDP started selling these super cool illuminated dock plates if that interests you. There is a Mario and a Zelda one currently.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073X4RF9Q/, with a custom engraving. You can make your own if you have access to anyone with engraving tools and some clear plastic.
Amazon. It's just a stand that you place your dock on and it has to faceplates with led lights. Zelda and Mario Odyssey https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073X4RF9Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The pokken controller is wired, but it's absolutely perfect for platformers like MM2

Pokken Pro Pad for me, if it's got all the buttons for normal gameplay. https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Tournament-Controller-Officially-Licensed-Pokemon/dp/B01A6LEXFK/
Probably won't work for Make Mode because of the radial menus there, but for platforming it'll probably be great. Dpad on this thing is the stuff dreams are made of.
The neon console comes with Blue left, and Red right. If you buy the pack of neon joycons (the one that's 80 dollars and comes with both) you get Red left, and Blue right. You can also buy blue and red individual joycons for either side.
Edit: You can also buy a set ($80) of just one color. https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Joy-Con-Neon-Blue/dp/B01MT8USZN/ref=sr_1_10?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1484421397&sr=1-10&keywords=nintendo+switch+joycon

I can't seem to find the Best Buy links now, but they will also probably be there too. All additional Joy-Con variations to purchase now are: Gray (2), Red (L) & Blue (R), Red (2), Blue (2), Gray (L), & Gray (R)
It would be if it were true:
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Joy-L-R-Neon-switch/dp/B01MT8RT5I
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Joy-L-R-Neon-switch/dp/B01MT8USZN
Both colors are an option too, though they're in the opposite position from the ones you get with a red/blue Switch:
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Joy-Neon-Red-Blue-switch/dp/B01N6QJ58Y/
And considering pre-owned joy-cons cost $35 you're not saving that much money either...
Those are the joy con gel grips. I got the same one and they're great.
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Joy-Con-Gel-Guards-Gray/dp/B01MUAO202
I recommend these PDP gel guards. I have multiple pairs in different colors. Cheap and they make it more comfortable.
They make silicone covers that have controller like grips on the back. It doesn't make it bigger but it fees a lot bigger in hand.
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Comfort-Grip-Grey-Guards/dp/B01MUAO202?th=1
I play mostly on handheld, so I got a pair of silicone sleeves for the joycons, and they're actually really comfortable because of the ergonomic bump on the back.
Nintendo Switch Comfort Grip Joy Con Grey Gel Guards by PDP https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MUAO202/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_v2gYDb8TC3SF4
If you can get the -- button unstuck, I'd recommend grabbing a pair of these. I got a pair the other day because I wasn't a fan of the paint texture of the joycons themselves, and they've been probably my favorite Switch accessory ever since.
BotW is FANTASTIC!! It's incredibly immersive and looks gorgeous! There's a ton of things to do, and unlike some games with that option, I never get the feeling of obligation to do the side stuff. You WANT to go do it.
Now for the Switch. First things first, order a screen protector. The thing isto be a portable game system, so you'll want to take it places without worrying about meant damage. I didn't, and now have a small scratch on the screen (possibly from the dock, probably from carrying it in a bag with a bunch of other stuff). A tempered glass screen protector will prevent that. I'd also recommend a carrying case although until they get a bunch of games released on cart, that's not so much of a necessity.
My Switch performs WONDERFULLY as a portable system. If still looks fantastic, and I get comparable play time to a 3DS (my standard for portable battery life). BotW and the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire both looked fantastic on the big screen in docked mode. I have noticed some frame lag here and there on BotW, but it's never had much impact on my play experience. Usually I only see it during "busy" times on screen (lots of trees & tall grass during heavy particulate weather effects such as a rain storm), and the recent update smoothed that out nicely.
The Switch also charges pretty quickly using it's charger (or a comparable power output charger). I have a 2A charger for cell phones in me car and USB C cable and it will keep it charged while playing on road trips (NOTE: it does not recharge it while playing, it just keeps the battery where it's at when you plug it in.)
Overall, BotW and the Switch are a definite recommend for purchase.
Was wondering where to preorder these and thought I'd share.

Not really. At the moment all I have is a screen protector (a cheap $8 purchase off Amazon) and this carrying case. Both do the job nicely. :)
I think I want one with a mesh lining at least so it can carry usb c chargers etc.
I'm mulling over these 3.

Butterfox case
The switch definitely has the possibility for many accessories. I'll link all the stuff I've bought at the end because I would recommend all of them
There is built in storage but not enough. I will recommend any micro SD card that's either 64 or 128 gb depending on how many games you plan on downloading. If you're going mostly mobile eshop games would definitely be more convenient.
As for other items, I love my pro controller but its not a necessity. I also only use it at home so it might not be for you.
You need a case for it, no two ways about it. The good news is that they are pretty cheap. There's cases that just carry the console, that carry the console and some extras, and that carry pretty much everything you could want to carry. Unless you're taking the dock often, I would just suggest a case with some extra storage.
I'd suggest a battery bank. There are a million options out there, and most of it has to do with cost. Just buy a size you like from a trusted brand like anker, ravpower, or aukey.
You also need a screen protector, because the plastic screen is not exactly durable. Anything works, but I would recommend tempered glass.

The ones by the amiibo are these from Japan. Along with the silicone ones I have, they also have a clear crystal case with the splat design on it here.
For the Joy-Con connected to my Switch, do you mean the clear crystal case I have them in or the actual colors? Because those are the green/pink Joy-con that Japan/Europe received.
Haha, I was going to get red and blue but before my birthday Walmart released a Splatoon bundle and my mom asked if I wanted that one and of course I said yes!

The N30 Arcade stick from 8Bitdo is $60 and are also well regarded. You could swap out the buttons/stick, or borrow the wireless guts. https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Arcade-Stick-Nintendo-Switch-Android/dp/B073ZNXFL6/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=switch+arcade+joystick&qid=1565885603&s=gateway&sr=8-7
You can go as cheap as this or as expensive as this
An in-between may be this or this (larger, comes with plexi and has custom artwork capability) since you could swap the parts out with your sanwa parts pretty easily.
Another option would be this if you want the same as the F300 but with bluetooth but it'd require some cable splicing as it only has four 2pin connectors while Sanwa uses 5pin for the joystick.
Here it is for $50 with no case: https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Arcade-Stick-Nintendo-Switch-Android/dp/B073ZNXFL6

Try the large model, the one I'm trying to get
So, I've had a few cases by now, but usually I find when I want to go out with my Switch, I just need the console itself and a couple games at most.
Therefore I've fallen in love with this Tomtoc Slim Hardshell Case.
It's really perfect and form fitting, super tiny, tough and looks good. 5/5.
I had your same concerns but I have had the RDS grip for about six months now and have no issues with those two tabs. I constantly take it on and off and throw it in my backpack all the time by itself and it is still in great shape and shows no signs of breaking. When I travel I keep my switch in the following case and keep the goplay grip just thrown in my bag along with everything else.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0769GCSMK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1
If you're up for it, you could put a basstop shell on it with a dpad. Finicky as hell to take the joycon apart, but so so worth it. I got mine done in about an hour with an online guide.
https://www.amazon.com/BASSTOP-Replacement-Controller-Electronics-Joycon-Atomic/dp/B076SN9G5Y?th=1
You can call Nintendo and see if they will fix it.
If it's within warranty they should, otherwise you may have to pay.
You could also try to replace it yourself with these
If you choose to replace it yourself I would recommend to get better screwdrivers or one of these
The JoyCon's ( And I believe the rest of the external screws on the Switch ) use a Y00 screw, not a Tri-Wing like Nintendo used to use.

I heard that 8bitdo wireless adapter works, I just saw it was a lightning deal today so I ordered it, would be nice not to have to use a wired controller

Personally I really like the Nintendo Pro controller, but if you want to use your Xbox controller on the Switch I believe that's possible.

I've ordered one but haven't received it yet (ordered on a Cyber Monday sale for $8 now dead) so no personal experience to pass on.
The 8bitdo adapter is $20 on amazon and let’s you use almost any controller on switch, including a wiimote
EDIT: here it is

There’s adapters on amazon that work perfectly well. They do cost a little bit but it’s worth it for me cause I like playing docked with headphones at night
Here’s the one I got
Edit: it also allows for connection in handheld
I totally agree, I can recommend the bt adaptor from homespot:

While it's definitely something Nintendo should have included, it gets the job done, works flawlessly with my Sony mdr 1000x, as well as my Jabra Elite Active 65t :)
I got this to connect my Bluetooth headphones and earbuds. Works perfectly with no audiolag.

Man, Once you hold that pro controller, the price will melt away. It's worth every penny. I got 2 and I got this so now I don't even need to think twice about charging it.

Your thumb will thank you , I really love to move my camera around while playing Zelda, and I hate using the joystick under the buttons on the joycons for games that require it.
I got this from Amazon for $10 at one point.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075FF6HDN
The lights are quite a bit bright on top, but other than that it's fine. Fits the NES controllers without issue
Edit: Looking at the other Power A Joycon docs, I never realized how close the bottom of the joycon comes to the base. Glad I got this one instead of the other I considered at the time (was getting ready for Mario Party)

I picked mine up from Amazon
Some reviews did mention of the screws breaking off inside the shells if screed in to tightly.
I think the ones from AliExpress might be the same shells just under a different company name I believe.
Or just buy some one of THESE
I have a case for my switch and my pro controller separately because I don't want to damage my controller. I use this for my switch and this for my Pro Controller and they both work great and I think are pretty compact. They both easily fit in my messenger bag with my laptop whenever I go to school.
Here’s my loadout:
First, I like being able to play in tabletop mode as I like having the joycons removed and separated while I play on the go, I carry the straps (though I removed the strap part so it’s just a way to add extra width to the joycons) and this tablet stand because I do like the normal one.
Next up, I use a portable USB-C charger with a PD port on it. I used to use a third party Switch charger since I’m not using it to dock, but I like having the option to charge my phone as well.
Finally, I use a case to carry everything in. The normal slim ones definitely aren’t enough, so I use one like this that fits everything so I can have everything on the go in a compact space.
TLDR: I keep a tablet stand, joycon straps, and a portable charger in a large case for when I’m on the go with my Switch. None of these are must haves, but I enjoy them all.
P.S.
One ESSENTIAL accessory is a screen protector. I got a small scratch on my bezel from my dock and it still bugs me I didn’t get a screen protector immediately. It baffles me that there’d be a design flaw like that, but it happens.
Finally, a lot of people like the Satisfye grips. While I’ve never found them necessary, a lot of people have. It would also be worth getting the bundle with the carrying case since it wouldn’t fit in a normal one.
Hope this helps or gives you some ideas of what you might want.

This one seems to fit the charger fine.
I believe that this is the one you're looking for.
EDIT: That's the one that I got, but this one seems to be a more recent alteration that, while it costs a little more, has more room for accessories and can be used as a stand.
This case will fit all that minus the pro controller. Most importantly, in my opinion, it also fits the ac adapter.
My case recommendation:
https://www.amazon.com/Compatible-Nintendo-Hardshell-Cartridges-Accessory-Sswitch/dp/B0769GCSMK
I've been really happy with this case. It's rigid, so it provides a bit of protection when in my backpack with all my other junk, but it still has a really slim profile.
Here
Any benefit compared to just buying this? https://www.amazon.com/BASSTOP-Controller-Replacement-Electronics-D-Pad-White/dp/B076SN9G5Y/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me=
I bought custom joy-con enclosures with a D-pad built in similar to [this].(https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076SN9G5Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_PF6NBbCDFQFQM)
It may not be what you're looking for if you only want D-pad functionality some of the time. In case you do go for something like this, I'll give you a bit of info. I really enjoy having the D-pad and find that it does indeed work well and feels good. Two warnings about a product like this:
I hope you find a controller that works well!
Obligatory 'You'll void your warranty!' disclaimer.
But these exist if you want an improved dpad.

Keep in mind that the plastic locks are possibly designed as an intentional weak point. In the event that the system is dropped on the Joycon, having that latch break prevents the energy from being transferred into the system.
what controllers do you already have? anything with the gyro support? if so you might also look at https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Controller-Adapter-Nintendo-Raspberry/dp/B07B7LMM52/
There's also this 8bitdo Adapter you can use to connect a myriad of controllers to your switch or just about any other device that has USB. If you have something you like already and it's a bluetooth device, this should work well.
Xbox One controller is a great idea. You will also need one of these for use with the Switch.
https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Controller-Adapter-Nintendo-Raspberry/dp/B07B7LMM52/
Yep. Bought this and synced it up.
8Bitdo Wireless Controller Adapter for Nintendo Switch,Windows,Mac & Raspberry Pi with a OTG Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B7LMM52/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_duD5Bb2ZGFX90
Only issue is a couple of buttons are mapped weird. More of a struggle in the menus. In game they function just like the ps4 controller except the map and capture buttons are switched.
I love the Pro Controller, but I have heard people complain about the D-Pad. I have never had an issue with mine, but I have not played a lot D-Pad intensive games with it.
I have heard good things about the Power A controllers (both the gamecube style and the pro controller style) but I haven't used them myself. The wired ones can be found for around $25 and the wireless for $40 so they might be a good choice as a second controller if you don't want to spend too much.
I own this Gamecube adapter that lets you connect both GCN and has a Wii Classic Controller socket, which means you can connect the controllers from the mini consoles to the Switch - which I plan to do to play SMM2 levels.
I'm also considering this 8 bit do adapter that lets you connect PS4, Xbox and Wii U Pro controllers to switch, since I really like the WIi U Pro and it's just gathering dust at home.

I Don't have experience with these myself, but i read good things abouth these.
...I have no idea what image you're looking at. So far I've only seen the image in the Teaser Email, which looks like a Bluetooth adapter that connects directly to the Type-C port, like this: https://www.amazon.com/HomeSpot-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Compatible-Headphones/dp/B07L9SL7ZT/ref=sr_1_3?crid=VYXE0BADDJC5&keywords=switch+bluetooth+adapter&qid=1567508132&s=gateway&sprefix=switch+bluetooth+%2Caps%2C170&sr=8-3

Pokken actually makes a controller specifically for the game. Pretty much only works for Pokken though if that’s a concern. I have it and it’s really very nice. I consider it the ideal way to play
HORI Nintendo Switch Pokken Tournament DX Pro Pad Wired Controller Officially Licensed by Nintendo and Pokemon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A6LEXFK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_QMHuDbTKMEZA6
The Pokken Tournament Pro Pad is reasonably priced and has a great D-pad. I use it for Pokken Tournament, Ultra Street Fighter II, and occasionally for 2D platformers. The only downside is that it doesn't have a home button so you have to use a joy-con or other controller to get back to the home screen.
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Tournament-Controller-Officially-Licensed-Pokemon/dp/B01A6LEXFK/
What are people’s thoughts on this controller for Pokken?
It’s only $13 on Amazon right now.
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Tournament-Controller-Officially-Licensed-Pokemon/dp/B01A6LEXFK/
[Personally I use the Pokken pad, its dpad is really nice.] (https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Tournament-Controller-Officially-Licensed-Pokemon/dp/B01A6LEXFK)
You can still find the controller in physical stores, and you can still pick it up new on Amazon, though the price has been jacked up in response to the rush to grab them when it was discovered that it was compatible with switch to begin with. Not sure what poster you're talking about though, so if that's not what you're looking for =/
I'm a big fan of the Pokken Tournament controllers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A6LEXFK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_2lIQCbD40TT6B
I personally use the Pokken Controller for games with a D-pad, including tetris. I think it's a great controller and of all the options for a dpad on switch I really enjoy this one. I agree with you and the other guy about the pro controller d-pad, unfortunately it really does just suck lmao. Here's a link the pokken controller, hope you find what you're looking for! https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A6LEXFK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Here's the all blue and all red also!

You're welcome, I guess (you have Neon Blue there, and Neon Red and Neon Yellow pairs in the dropdown too)
Does anyone know if we'll see the Red only and Blue only Joycon packs at retail, I know it's mainly grey I see, I have seen the occasional neon red/blue pack but I've never once seen, since Switch came out, the blue only or red only packs? Has anyone seen these? Are they making more of these what with the Yellow ones coming out. I prefer to buy things direct not through third party sellers https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Joy-Con-Neon-Blue/dp/B01MT8USZN/ like all of these.
Second the screen protector and skin from dbrand. My dock was really scratching up the back of my switch and I wish I’d bought one before.
I have this case and really love it - it’s a super sleek case that’s contoured for your switch and includes two screen protectors. I also have these gel grips that makes playing handheld significantly more comfortable without bulking my switch up too much (it still perfectly fits in my case.
For holding the joycons independently I very much recommend these gel guards. I was holding off on getting them because I thought it would make them feel cheap, but quite the opposite, now I love holding them. The thumb caps add just enough size and grip to the analog sticks too. Totally worth the 8 or so bucks. Different colors are available too.

If you want a protective but not as aesthetic option id recommend a combination of these two things off of amazon

this will get you full button functionality as well as the ability to flip it open and shut. also 3d printing would probably be more expensive unless you have one locally available.
A screen protecter and case.
Amazon list of cases.
I personally ordered this one, due to a review I saw on YouTube, which I just went to look for and can't find.
Edit:
I found a thread on here about the video, turns out it was removed for some reason (probably Nintendo shutdown)... Here is the link to it if you want to read the comments.
Sure -- I'm using this case by RDS Industries paired with this screen protector. I bring along a USB adapter for charging my Switch when I'm working in my studio.
The case that I use is decent -- hard shell exterior, inner binding straps, and a near-edge fit keep the switch from jostling around. There's an inner mesh-bag for holding extra joycons and protected SD cards. The 2 game card holder cases that it comes with are questionable. They both hold four game cards each, and fit into crevices on one interior side of the Switch case. What doesn't work about them is that they often pop out of the crevices they were designed to fit and they never completely hold on to the game cards placed in them -- when you open the cases, the cards pop out of their place pretty easily. This got annoying to me as I took the Switch out of the case frequently, so I DIY'ed some cheap adhesives to both the outside and inside of the card holder cases, which ended up working very well. All in all, the case does its job -- I'd say that newer cases would probably be better, however, as companies have had the chance to iterate on the models they've developed. It also gets brownie points from saving my switch from a leaky bottle of water that I had in my backpack. Not sure if it's entirely waterproof, though.

Thanks for the input! The one I'm looking at has 14 cartridge slots, so I think I'm gonna go for it!
https://www.amazon.com/PDP-Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Console-Case/dp/B01N4O0392/ref=sr_1_4
Well, it’s bigger than a 3DS or your phone, especially with the Joy Con controllers attached, but it’s not that bad imo. And you can get cases like this that makes it easier to carry your console and games together.
Found these PDP cases as well

there's already one (semi-quality) switch-specific stick, but there are also adapters you can use with any other ps4 or xb1 stick. i personally use a custom stick with a brook universal board for the widest compatibility but if you only want to play on switch/pc the hori rap v will do you just fine.
Have you tried a fightstick like this
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4P40LG/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_S7-wCbVJ520GK
The buttons are a lot easier to actuate than on a gamepad, especially using multiple fingers. If you are able to exert just a little bit of force that might be an option. The buttons are also large enough that one can easily paste cloth or something onto them if the surface itself is your issue. With Microsoft's adaptive controller there's also the option mix and match other types of actuators such as foot pedals.
check out /r/NintendoSwitch - great sub with a lot of info. AFAIK, any decent fighting stick from Hori or something works with Switch. like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Arcade-Hayabusa-Officially-Licensed/dp/B01N4P40LG/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=hori+fightstick&qid=1559083699&s=gateway&sr=8-3
But I imagine people have their own opinions on which is the best.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4P40LG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_OtjUCb39462PE
Hori real arcade pro 5 for the switch. I highly recommend it.
Try this one OP. I just don't think a fight stick would be too beneficial for arms due to the multiple move points. It's like the FPS of fighting games. I'm sure once mastered it'll work wonders.
Yup, I use the Hori RAP V.
I own the Hori arcade stick. I really like it and it works very well.
I also own a PS3 mad cats TE stick (mine has different art than this, best match I could find), I really like that one too. I use this usb stick to make mine work with my switch
I find that these sticks each have their own pros and cons.
|Hori|MadCatz|
|:-|:-|
|Soft plastic round buttons. Very Good|Hard plastic sawa style buttons. Perfect|
|Very hard clicking, very mechanical feeling stick. I love it. Just slightly better for change/charge moves|Softer smother stick, I also love it.|
|No lock feature, however the home button is all the way on the side so it is hard to press by accident. However I do hit start by mistake sometimes when going for a L1|Has a lock out switch, never accidentally press start or the system menu button again! Love It|

|Works on Switch and PC (x-input)! Change between the two with a hidden switch on the arcade stick! Wonderful Feature|Works on PS3 (and ps4 games with legacy support). |$150 New and feels like a $150 in your hands|$300-400 new and feels like $300-400 in your hands; but you won't get yours new. I don't think they are made anymore. Hunt for one on amazon or ebay, condition may very. I linked to a OEM/stock one that was going for 280 when in stock.|
I use the MadCatz on my pc as my main steam controller. I use the Hori on my switch. The adapter is used for when a friend comes over. I would never take the MadCatz stick to a competition. It only takes one drunk dudebro spilling a beer to ruin my irreplaceable controller.
If I were you, I would pick the Hori controller for simplicity and price. However if you want to try the MadCatz I found this for about 85-100, it may pair well with the use this usb stick for a very good $120-130 price tag. However the $85 sticks are stated to be in what amazon calls "acceptable condition" and may be missing packaging, manuals, or other pieces.
That's definitely fair xD my younger cousins who come over for holidays are teenagers now, but back like 5 years ago I probably wouldn't have trusted them either.
I'm fond of this case: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Traveler-Deluxe-Travel-Breath/dp/B01N5T26EP/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1511991163&sr=8-5&keywords=rds+switch+case
It comes in several colors/styles, but as someone who buys a fair amount of physical games, I love the 2 game card cases that fit into the bottom. The mesh zipper pouch that sits over the screen of the console when inside isn't good for much (might fit like a USB cable, or the individual joycon grips in it), but otherwise it houses the console and up to 8 extra games comfortably which takes care of my portable needs. I'll just toss a charging cable and pro controller if needed into the same pouch of my bag and call it a day when leaving to hang out with people.

I have had two cases so far.
[This] (https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Starter-Kit-Mario-Icon/dp/B01N9RO6AM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1493574619&sr=8-3&keywords=mario%2Bswitch%2Bcase&th=1) is the first one. I bougt it when I first got the Switch, mainly because it was the only one in stock. I didn't care for all the extra accessaries, but some people have liked them. The case is incredibly roomy and I could my switch, with joycons and silicone grips attached, as well as a USB-C cord, headphones, amiibo cards, and a modified grip. Dropped the case several times with not a bit of damage to my precious.
I also just bought this [Zelda case]
(https://www.amazon.com/Industries-Nintendo-Switch-Traveler-Deluxe-Travel/dp/B01N5T26EP/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493574538&sr=8-1&keywords=zelda+switch+case), since my local store took my first one for tradein and I really wanted a Zelda case. It is a bit narrower, and I only feel confortable leaving the Switch in it, and now carry my accessories in a separate pouch (I have too many amiibo cards, so this was not an issue for me.) It could just be me though, as I have an insane fear of putting too much stress on the screen.
Both cases have space for games, Mario - 12 games, Zelda - 6/8 depending on if you use some space allotted for microsd cards. I feel like both are solid cases, it just depends on what you want to do with them.
In my opinion, neither the Kingtop nor this Orly case are worth it. I had a case just like these, one that uses two bands to hold down the Switch. It is secure, but it also makes putting in the Switch and taking it out is super annoying.
I highly recommend these: either this Butterfox case or this RDS case. They're both high quality, easy to use, and secure. I had the RDS one first but decided to get the Butterfox one because I like the little pockets for holding Switch games. Both are good tho.
I got the RDS case with the Breath of the Wild logo on it:
https://www.amazon.com/Industries-Nintendo-Switch-Traveler-Deluxe-Travel/dp/B01N5T26EP/ref=sr_1_5?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1493654355&sr=1-5&keywords=rds+switch+case
My only complaint about it is that it doesn't hold a charger. Or at least not the official one, it might be able to hold a USB cord and slim wall adapter.
I got this case and the cartridge holders are removable, so I put them in a drawer.
I have the same cover, but I use a different case. The cases look very similar so it will probably fit.
The case I'm using. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N5T26EP/
I got this Butterfox case and I'm in love with it. Don't have to detach the joycons, no annoying elastic to deal with, plenty of room for a whole lot of games, and the top area is great for cords or a power bank if you want to carry one.

The butterfox cases are the best ones out there. I've had this one for over a year and no complaints. Plenty of space for games and protects the screen. It also has dips for the joycons so the system can lay flat.

Seems like we're all in luck! Look what I just saw popped up today on Amazon...
https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B072BZ66JL
(that one was on Amazon France, and was the cheapest I've seen so far). However, if they don't deliver to where you live, it seems that the main USA amazon has these as japanese imports with international shipping (much more expensive, but is a way to get them if all else fails)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072BZ66JL
not seen them on any of the other amazons yet, but I reckon if given long enough they eventually will. (but for now, those above two methods are already possible!)
Hope this helps!

Looks like it's only being sold by a 3rd party seller. Here's the link to the product, but you'd have to wait for the price to drop back down to normal.
(Here's proof of my purchase)
It now says shipping to the US is unavailable. Sadly. Keeps charging me a dollar tho. But the money is still in my account.
Is there any other way to get these or should I just wait for
the US release?
EDIT: Actually found a way to have it shipped to the US for $84. Go on UK Amazon sign up for the Prime Free Trial and you'll have access to pre-order. They are on stock August 9th 2017. Just placed my order and i'm hoping this works! :)
EDIT...again: False alarm...... How do people get it shipped to the US? After I place the order it keeps saying it can't be delivered to the US. PLEASE HELP!
I googled "glowing nintendo switch dock" and got this:

Edit: amazon link as well: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Light-Dock-Shield-PDP/dp/B073X4RF9Q
You can get it at multiple places:

[PDP Dock for Nintendo Switch](nintendo switch light up dock shield by pdp https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073X4RF9Q)
It is a separate base for the entire dock. It contains colored LEDs and two acrylic designs (Mario Odissey logo, and Sheikah eye). Available on GameStop and Amazon.
I know OP replied to your comment, but for others reading this, don't forget that you also need the base to make it light up!
Totally for Hiro2 😏 (Woops!)
Actually it's a little docking station for the Nintendo Switch. It's pretty neat since you can change colors and swap the plates for different designs!

Another to consider (edit, it's basically an upmarked M300 with bluetooth):

I did a full Sanwa mod on it, wasn't too bad. I think you should be able to get a JLF and buttons for around $40.
Works on PC, switch, and Android and the wireless works pretty well.
It actually exists, not by MadCatz, but it exists
https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Arcade-Stick-Nintendo-Switch-Android/dp/B073ZNXFL6/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=8-bitdo+arcade+stick&qid=1567602712&s=gateway&sr=8-1
Honestly, I would just double down on a dedicated fight stick if you're going to play a fighting game. I don't have one capable with the Switch but my friends and I all got Skullgirls back in the day and I also got a fight stick just for it. Can't go back to a controller for fighting games as I've even used it for SC6 recently. 8bitdo's NES themed one is a literal hardware clone at least on the outside of the one I use but has Switch support and I think it's cheaper. You can even replace the joystick gate and buttons with real arcade hardware if you really want assuming the insides are the same.
If you want a standard controller, not sure. Best bet I can give you is to get one of those shell swaps that change the dedicated buttons to a DPad if you're willing. I thought it was absolutely worth it, but it involves disassembly.
Fight Stick: https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Arcade-Stick-Nintendo-Switch-Android/dp/B073ZNXFL6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1543207660&sr=8-1&keywords=8bitdo+fight+stick

I can't say much to actually taking it apart, but the pro controller just uses bluetooth, Seems a bit expensive to buy one to tear down as I can't imagine you'll have much use for the rumble and gyros, which is what I assume adds a lot of the cost to it's pricetag.
For ease of conversion though, Why not use the guts in one of these?:
https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Arcade-Stick-Nintendo-Switch-Android/dp/B073ZNXFL6
Cost less than a pro controller anyway.
Not sure what the pricing would be in your area but give the 8bitdo N30 Arcade Stick a look. If you're looking for nostalgia then this might tick the right boxes for you.
8bido NES Arcade stick bruh
My solution for this would be to just have the right joy con detached & sitting next to me in a joy-con charger in my room. 🤣
For me I have my Pro controller sitting in this PowerA controller + joy-con charger (thank you Target for having it on sale for $18 a while back) next to my bed so I use that to turn on my Switch. When I'm traveling I just put the joy con on a table next to me. (I got the Pro controller last year but now almost always use the SN30 Pro+ instead when docked)
But what all this makes me think is Nintendo could probably make bank on some type of small Switch remote to turn your Switch on & off, adjust volume, etc. Make it cheaper than a pair of joy-cons but handy for anyone using 3rd party controllers 🤔
I just bought this one today on clearance for $21 from Walmart. So far it works good and I'll be able to charge my Pro Controller and a set of Joycons on the charger, and the other set of joycons on the switch. Only complaints so far is that the LED lights are really bright and distracting sitting there so I'll probably put it behind the TV. And it doesn't have a dedicated power plug. You plug it into your Switch dock via USB.
https://www.amazon.com/PowerA-Joy-Pro-Controller-Charging-Dock/dp/B075FF6HDN/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1548985610&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=powera+dock&dpPl=1&dpID=31OjWb2YxkL&ref=plSrch
When I played the game on the Wii U, the official Pokken Controller was really great. I think THIS is the Switch Equivalent.
That being said, I do like the Joycons a lot, but I know I am in the minority for that, lol.
What controller is best to play Mario Maker 2? I'm using the Switch pro controller (joystick) but I feel like I should be using a dpad. Unfortunately, the dpad isn't the best on the pro controller.
This is a really big news! For real pokken dx switch controller works natively also on ps4 with ps3 driver support? this is huge info and perfect considering my interest :D as you said it's super cheap and I'll insta-buy this. I googled this but there is no record about that. Are we talking about this right? https://www.amazon.it/HORI-Pokk%C3%A9n-Tournament-Pro-Controller/dp/B01A6LEXFK/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1549554512&sr=1-1&keywords=Pokken+switch+pad

Something like this good for using them in each hand?
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Comfort-Grip-Grey-Guards/dp/B01MUAO202
The gel based ones are pretty comfy. I got some red pokemon themed ones with my PDP Switch case.
Just took a look on Amazon and they sell them separately, found a grey pair but guessing there might be other colours and themed ones if you have a hunt.
https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B01MUAO202/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdb_c_PB3yDbKP48DXQ
I bought a set of these and they make the joycons much more comfortable to use, especially with them attached to the screen. Just wish that they had better joysticks now.

I have big hands, but I have never had a problem with the ergonomics of the joycon. I've owned every Nintendo handheld though so maybe I'm just used to it.
My recommendation would be to first borrow a friend's 3DS. Play smash bros or something intense on it for a while and that should give you a pretty good idea of how the switch will feel.
You could always get some of these to help with comfort as well (see the third pic) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01MUAO202/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_XVW6yb5WWWKHK
Generally though, everybody is different. You won't know until you try it. But I would bet if you just start playing Zelda you'll be having too much fun to even think about whether or not your hands feels comfortable.
You've got a point. However, I do realize now that I'll be carrying the Carrying Case in a backpack so I can just put the accessories I'll be traveling with in it.
I'm also looking into JoyCon Grips, and I found these. Would they happen to be the ones you have? Either way, I think I'd be really keen on picking them up.
How about something like this? It's not perfect but it would offer a bit of protection. Or they make little gel guards like this if that's more what you're looking for.
I haven't used either of these products personally, they are just accessories I've seen around.
Completely agree with this. These grips are pretty cheap and they feel good. I've got the ones made by pdp and I never take them off. They apparently don't sell any green grips in the US, but I was able to find some by orzly in the UK
I don't think there are bigger ones, but you could get some sort of grip to help you with the cramps, there are some silicon or hard plastic shells out there, i have the silicon ones that came in the switch starter kit
Silicon joy-con grip: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Comfort-Grip-Grey-Guards/dp/B01MUAO202/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=joy-con+silicon+nintendo+switch&qid=1555098626&s=gateway&sr=8-7

I only use handheld and I found the switch just uncomfortable and because of that I would press down pretty hard and it would get a bit hot so I got some grips for it and it made it so much better.
You shouldn’t be able to feel the back heat unless you’ve got some massive hands or hold the switch strangely.
I use these grips
They stick out from the bottom as well so if you lay it down flat it doesn’t touch the back of the tablet.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MUAO202/
These PDP covers add a nice hump to the back bottom of the joycons. Makes them much comfier to hold
At least we have things like this.
Interested in the hand grip case. The only accessories I have for switch would be a TPU Cover and Botw Travel case.

So far, this is still my #1 pick. Someone posted this one and many find it better. Personally, I don't like the double flap in the middle. Just personal taste. The other case that had my attention was this one by RDS. I can't find the pic, but it DOES have indents on the inside for the triggers. My only grip was the tiny pocket pouch used to secure the Switch with Velcro.
I turn 32 today. Bought myself a new Switch case and a 200GB MicroSD card. I had been looking for a case and they finally had some in at GameStop. I'm going on a trip in a couple of weeks and plan on bringing the Switch with me.
Zelda Switch Case
I'm using the black Zelda one licensed by Nintendo. It's not flashy at all but also isn't basic. It feels really sturdy and premium. Highly recommend it if you want a quality, kinda plain case. They also have one with a basic Switch logo.
https://www.amazon.com/Industries-Nintendo-Switch-Traveler-Deluxe-Travel/dp/B01N357OCG/ref=sr_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1491281779&sr=1-3&keywords=zelda+switch+case

Nope, no issues to speak of. I haven't played it a ton, but in the time I've played it, I didn't notice any thing at all.
I can take more photos later, I'm in class till noon. I'll post them up. But it's this case here.
Hopefully it's good. There is a PDP Switch case too. Though I went with the mario switch case cause I love the design.

I haven't seen anything in the states like this yet. From the article I found talking about these cases, it says its a Japanese exclusive right now. The article was written in April. I currently have the PDP zippered case and it's alright. Got this only because it's an ARMS case really. I'm hoping my Switch will be able to fit in it with the hybrid case I have on it.
Am I the only one who is going to order the Switch Premium case? https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Console-Case-Mario/dp/B01N4O0392/ref=pd_sbs_63_17?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=XSV89A0KRVWB5FF42CH0&th=1
I like the design, black with various Mario icons is what sold me. Definitely going to be getting the screen protector also. Just two weeks away you Switch-Heads! Two weeks and we get to hold the glorious Switch in our hands.
This one
Probably one of the Starter kit cases. They have a rubber shell which should keep it safe in bags and they can also carry games + a few extra accessories.
The PDP cases should be fine as well. I have this one which has been giving plenty of protection and it's one of the cheaper cases. (If you plan on getting the pdp, I found mine on a shelf in GameStop which avoided having to wait for it to be restocked on amazon.)
I use this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Console-Case-Mario/dp/B01N4O0392/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1502758528&sr=8-3&keywords=mario%2Bswitch%2Bcase&th=1
It feels quite sturdy and I think it looks pretty classy.
This?
I got this case because it holds 14 game cards. It also comes in a plain black version. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N4O0392/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'm currently deciding between these three:
Hey awesome. Just picked up this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4O0392/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You think it'll suffice?
I'm not certain which retail sticks work on the switch, I've only used custom built stuff for the last few years. The switch has very open usb controller compatibility, so anything that can pose as a generic gamepad should work.
The last i saw, hori made a switch-specific version of the RAP V, which is a very well built stick: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Arcade-Hayabusa-Officially-Licensed/dp/B01N4P40LG
My brother uses the ps4 version of that and it's as much stick as you'll ever need. I find the buttons a bit sensitive, but I'm a big seimitsu fan (many people prefer quick buttons). At any rate they're very easy and cheap to swap out.
The Switch has multiple different controller options that could work for a game like MvC. The Pro Controller comes to mind, and this is also without mentioning the officially licensed HORI RAP.V fightstick that exists for it.
If you're talking about this stick, it has a joystick\dpad toggle like the other sticks do.
https://www.amazon.ca/Hori-Real-Arcade-Pro-Hayabusa/dp/B01N4P40LG/ref=asc_df_B01N4P40LG/?tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=293033529829&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11641254729571530251&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9061280&hvtargid=pla-349558912481&psc=1
Not sure, sorry :/ All I know is that they've announced that they're making a RAP stick for the Switch, not sure what regions it will be sold in though.
EDIT: Looks like it will be available in the US on Amazon on July 31st!
I'm guessing a PC one should work, considering the official stick for Switch says it's PC compatible, and seems to just have a Switch theme to it. Not sure if anything else is going on with it.
It's probably not the most elegant solution, but you could consider a fight stick.
For example, Hori makes one:
HORI Nintendo Switch Real Arcade Pro V Hayabusa Fight Stick Officially Licensed by Nintendo - Nintendo Switch; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4P40LG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_2EhYDbQEGAXQG
My only concern with these is that I'm not sure how the camera/movement will be since there's no dual analog sticks.
Since the game is a turn based RPG and not an action one, you could also consider a game pad pro or using one of those joy con comfort grip holders.
There is an arcade stick. But I kinda doubt a lot of people would be willing to shell out for this
this is what I have https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Arcade-Hayabusa-Officially-Licensed/dp/B01N4P40LG
But there are adapters as well https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/6j86ky/brook_super_converter_ps4_to_switch_support_now/
Which Fight Sticks are compatible with the Switch? I'm leaning toward the Hori.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4P40LG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I've had this one since launch. It's held up great. It doesn't fit a pro controller, but it comes with 2 game cases that hold 4 games each, and there's also a zipper pocket inside for other things/more games. You could find a bigger case that holds controllers and dock, but at that point you might as well just throw all your shit in a backpack or duffle bag. This size case works best for keeping the system safe, whether you're only hauling just that, or putting it in another bag.
There are other colors and styles made by the same company, some a couple bucks cheaper.
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Zelda-Sheikah-Carrying-Case/dp/B01N5T26EP/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=switch%2Bzelda%2Bcase&qid=1565335770&s=gateway&sr=8-4&th=1
I'm looking for this case in Europe (Austria): https://www.amazon.com/Industries-Nintendo-Switch-Traveler-Deluxe-Travel/dp/B01N5T26EP
Does anyone know if Bigben/someone will release it? Or is there a cheap way to import it? I only managed to find variants of it, but the Sheikah style is the one I chose :-/
Mine ran me $15 when I bought it, a similar case on Amazon looks to be $20: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Zelda-Sheikah-Carrying-Case/dp/B01N5T26EP/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=switch%2Bbreath%2Bof%2Bthe%2Bwild%2Bcase&qid=1569845233&s=gateway&sr=8-3&th=1
I've used it for, what, 2 and a half years now without issue.
I'm looking for recommendations on a travel case that will fit THIS inside as well as the dock, pro controller, joy grip, power and hdmi.
most of the full travel cases I see have the thumb sticks rubbing on something and this imo is not good for them. Thus I rather find something that will fit the above case in it to prevent this problem.
Thank you in advance for your time and have a good day.
Zelda is a no brainer. If he's never played Binding of Isaac go with that one. Honestly, I would stop there. Zelda will keep him busy for a long time.
I would strongly recommend an official Nintendo carrying case. He's going to want to travel with it at some point. Have a doctors appointment, got to go get your car inspected, or anything else where you have to sit and wait? The Switch is perfect and the carrying case is big for it. The small one that carries just the Switch will do. You don't need the $30 one that carries even the dock. He'll like this one or this one.
The next question is physical vs digital. Does your boyfriend like to collect physical copies of games or just download them? Check for one of his existing systems. Does he have a huge library of physical games or does he just have the console? If he is a digital guy you may want to consider an SD card of 128 GB or 256 GB.
The Pro controller is great, but it costs about $70. If it is in your budget get it. It is great.
I may be buying this, cost $13.90 to buy this with delivery to my country. I already have a case, but lately I've been finding it too bulky and heavy, that is a nuisance when I'm also bringing my laptop. Thanks pal
edit: read this in the reviews "Flaw 2: the bottom cushion does not have any contour to adapt R/ZR/L/ZL button protruding area, so it makes switch always tilting when inside the case. Combined with tight rubber band it means device will constantly get unbalanced force against this area."
I think that is a big problem, I'll pass for now :(
https://www.amazon.com/Updated-Nintendo-Carrying-Holders-Accessories/dp/B06WGSKRKL/ref=sr_1_3/132-3048245-7711466?ie=UTF8&qid=1523916293&sr=8-3&keywords=butterfox+nintendo+switch+case
I got you my boy
I'm in Canada and I bought the following: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06WGSKRKL/ref=pe_386430_121528420_TE_dp_2
Great case that can hold many games as well as the joycon straps and some ear buds that I keep in the zippered compartment. The charger that came with the console may fit in there as well but seemed to put a lot of pressure on the system. It is not bulky at all.
I also bought a screen protector:https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01N9RG3XS/ref=pe_386430_121528420_TE_dp_1
It went on easily and still looks great!
Has anybody bought this exact model of the butterfox case? It's the smaller blue one.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06WGSKRKL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_OpBQBb2H61A7T
I can't tell if this version had the built in stand or not since it's not clear. Do any of you know?
Case: I have this one:https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Starter-Kit-Links-Tunic/dp/B01MT8XY4V/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1492440220&sr=1-2&keywords=nintendo%2Bswitch%2Bstarter%2Bkit&th=1 , but it is pricey for your budget.
I'd recommend this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06WGSKRKL?psc=1
Screen Protector: https://www.amazon.com/amFilm-Tempered-Screen-Protector-Nintendo/dp/B01N3ASPNV/ref=pd_sim_63_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01N3ASPNV&pd_rd_r=MF6ZGMD3A09367V984S0&pd_rd_w=BtEbi&pd_rd_wg=s0UzX&psc=1&refRID=MF6ZGMD3A09367V984S0.
And the last $20 could be a game, stand, cables, etc.
Question on the Butterfox Cases. I was looking and noticed there's an updated version. I saw two links for the blue one:
https://www.amazon.com/ButterFox-Nintendo-Storage-Official-Adapter/dp/B06Y4VXRJZ/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1506792185&sr=8-6&keywords=butterfox+switch+case

The first link says "[Updated]" in the title, the second one doesn't. The first one is unavailable, the second one is available. Both seem to show the updated version. Am I correct in using the second link, or do I risk getting the older version with some of the flaws?

I just got a butterfox case (this one) for about $11. It's got space for 19 games and 2 micro SD cards. It's really nice, especially for the price.

Not sure about currently stocked places. But Amazon UK have them up for preorder.
You can get them imported from Japan or Europe. New user, so I don't know exactly what the other user bought, but both have Prime shipping, so I would assume it would work the same way as if you were buying anything else
You can buy the red/blue neon alts, the green/pink neon alts, grey, neon yellow and Mario red (Japanese import only).
The original variation neons are the only ones you can't get outside a bundle or console purchase (unless you buy them individually, also an option for some).
Some of these are less obtainable in different locations, but they exist.
Is the European version of the splatoon themed joycons actually darker? It looks darker in the amazon images (US EU)
I really like the duller EU version, and would get it if it was actually darker. Does anyone know if that is really the case or if it is just a weird picture? Anyone have pictures of the EU version?
well what i really want would be these joycons for my nintendo switch since my other ones broke and i have had to keep the poor thing in docked mode permanently :(
xD those are expensive though so i will be more realistic, i would really like this design works book for my favourite video game dark souls, i love game design and interviews and have always wanted to own this
Ouch. The left side is near impossible to easily get in North America.
Luckily, somewhat, it is widely released in EU.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B072BZ66JL
That one should ship to.you.
If the outside case is fine you might be better off just getting parts and giving them cash/beer.

despite it saying it can't ship to the US, you can still add to basket and follow through.
Amazon UK has them available to order right now, but they aren't in stock.
I just placed an order because my mom wants a pair of these colors, and it came out to $118.74 CAD; $5.75 more then if I were to purchase them in Canada.
You can see it here.
Mine has never been opened, I just received two and only needed one.
Jeez I couldn't read all the comments but here's what I got.

I kept bringing my switch around for parties and events so I got this case since I own almost 20 games and this one has a nice game storage.
Girlfriend bought a projector and a 75 inch screen so we have summer nights outside playing on a big screen. We kept the kids busy during draft day.
If you got it from best buy get the Geek squad plan. Even if there's nothing wrong with it and you want that new switch that might be coming out next year you can return for store credit. You get the full value on how much you spent on this bundle.

https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Light-Dock-Shield-PDP/dp/B073X4RF9Q
It looks to me like a sheet of laser engraved, cast acrylic. It's not too expensive, but it's definitely worth the extra cost over extruded acrylic, which will look less sharp or defined.
If you have access to a laser cutter at a local school, workshop or library or something, you can most likely take some acrylic there and engrave any design on it, plus cut it to size. If you put LEDs on the edge of it, the engraved parts will light up where the light is reflected, and the rest stays clear, making that nice effect.
The OP took one of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073X4RF9Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_29jRDbQ5H8KE0 and just swapped in his custom acrylic piece to finish it.

I'd go with the Mayflash sticks though since I see people actually buy those and post them here (usually with Sanwa parts swapped in on Reddit though lol).
With your budget in mind, here are some good beginner sticks.

The last one is only PS3 and PC compatible so in the case if you plan on getting the carbon and want to use it on a ps4, you'll have to get a brook ps3 to ps4 converter for it.
They have an arcade stick coming out soon:

Far cheaper and easier to obtain than the Hori Real Arcade Pro for Switch. They say it's mod-friendly and compatible with Sanwa parts if that's your thing.
There's also THIS THING that releases later this month. I've been holding out for a good fight stick solution as well. Can't play SF with the controllers...
8bitdo have made several, such as this one.
What a coincidence! This sexy big toy was waiting for me at home today!

Interested in getting a controller charger. The wiki lists the power a stand for charging two joy-cons, but I was wondering if anyone has experience with this model that charges a single joycon pair and a pro controller? Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075FF6HDN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_u-P.BbDV9BVKY
In any case, I'd like to know what the best charging setup is for a primarily docked switch with 2 pro controllers and 2 pairs of joy-cons.
Comments in the reviews for this one say they work fine:
https://www.amazon.com/PowerA-Joy-Pro-Controller-Charging-Dock/dp/B075FF6HDN/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1
You can see from the picture that it should work, as it has no "base" that would get in the way. Worst case: you could elevate it on top of some small notepads or something. It's officially licensed, which is good. Unfortunately, reviews are lackluster for a PowerA licensed product--sounds like there may some chance of a DOA unit (bad qc), and if you do use the pro controller, I guess you have to plug in a dongle for it.

https://www.amazon.com/Joy-Controller-Charging-Dock-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B075FF6HDN
I'm sure it's fine, or you'd see plenty of complaints in the reviews. I don't think the controllers have the same sensitivity to power issue as the Switch does in docked mode. I've charged my Pro Controller from all sorts of sources and never had an issue (although I always make sure my cables and adaptors are Benson Leung approved).
I can personally vouch for the PowerA charger of this type, as I gave one to a friend for Christmas and he hasn't had any problems. It costs the same, but it doesn't have those sick fiberoptic LED bars! And it looks like the FastSnail is less bulky. I think you should spend the extra two bucks for the red one.
Had a similar issue but the locking plastic bit in the joycon itself broke and I was lucky enough that I got a warranty from Gamestop and the SL was nice enough to swap out the cons without using up my warranty.
But yeah you’re kinda fucking there bucko
Try duck tape! If not you could always get a replacement shell and if you’re willing to try and take it apart you could have a fancy new switch shell!
this is my personal favorite
I’m pretty sure the replacement shells have the grill on the intake vents Nintendo Switch Replacement Shell. That the whole shell plus joy con but you can buy the back shell on its own.
For anyone who has done the shell mod before: https://www.amazon.com/BASSTOP-Replacement-Controller-Electronics-Set-Atomic/dp/B075JBBFSL/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=nintendo+switch+shell&qid=1567276900&s=gateway&sr=8-5. Is the purple shell glossy as people mentioned and not matte? Also, the clear one says clear matte but I'm seeing others say it's glossy aswell. Thanks in advance.
just look on amazon for the company basstop, they make every transparent colors just like the n64, the pink and green set, white, gold, etc
i have done many electronic projects and this one isnt too hard to do, it's only scary because everything is just so small. you will also need a tri wing screwdriver, propretary screws on nintendo stuff. it costs like a dollar or 2.basstop
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075JBBFSL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_GrHQCb4DTRBRB
The joycons were the worst to replace with these shells and I ended up breaking one small ribbon cable. If you’re up for the challenge though go for it!

I think I'm going to try this one. It seems to have the deepest top pocket.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075PVC8WR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_f0N4AbYRJFB9T
I actually have both of those cases.
I bought the Orzly case first, and hated it. The accessory pocket opens away from the handle, which means the contents spill out whenever you carry it. Also, the straps that secure the Switch are annoying to use.
Then I bought the Hestia case, and I think it's far better. The accessory pocket closes with a zipper, so nothing ever spills out. The Switch is secured with a single Velcro tab, which is less annoying. As a bonus, it holds more cartridges, and the outer covering feels like a nice ballistic fabric instead of cheap vinyl.
That said, I'm kind of tempted by this one, which seems like a Hestia but also has a built in stand:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075PVC8WR
I take my switch to work everyday. I have the the big mumba case that snaps to the switch. I also have the butter fox carrying case. The switch with the mumba fits perfectly into the butter Fox, and gives me room for a bunch of games, joy cons and the straps. Then I throw the whole case into a backpack. No issues yet and I feel like I don’t have to worry about it at all when it’s in this set up. I also have a screen protector installed.
mumba
butterfox
Suggest a protective shell, I really like the mumba but not sure if it fits in a Butterfox like this one?:
https://www.amazon.com/ButterFox-Nintendo-Charger-holders-Console-Accessories/dp/B075PVC8WR/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8&th=1
EDIT: Is getting the adjustable charging stand a good idea especially when used with a protective shell?
The [Butterfox carrying case] (https://www.amazon.com/ButterFox-Nintendo-Switch%EF%BC%8CFits-Charger%EF%BC%8CBuilt-Accessories/dp/B075PVC8WR?th=1) is exactly what you want. Obviously a little thicker, but it will fit the AC adapter.
I personally use the official one that costs $20 that has a lot of varying designs (I have the Shiekah Slate one), and it's a good protective case because of how hard the exterior is, but it barely fits the Switch itself in the case and 2 extra joycons. I'm a student though so I always have my backpack on me and my AC charger in there, so it doesn't bother me
I was going to buy the Butterfox case when I got my Switch, and the only reason I the Shiekah Slate one was because I got it as a hand-me-down. The moment my Shiekah Slate case becomes too deteriorated, I will buy the Butterfox case as the replacement.
the butterfox deluxe cases can fit a grip in them, so I imagine it could fit a power bank. https://www.amazon.com/ButterFox-Nintendo-Switch%EF%BC%8CFits-Charger%EF%BC%8CBuilt-Accessories/dp/B075PVC8WR/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1522083606&sr=8-2&keywords=butterfox+nintendo+switch+charging+grip

Butterfox cases are great, I have one myself, just not this one.
This one is it:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L91C9SK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_CbEOCb6XN2FBK
I first owned this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075PVC8WR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_edEOCbFWJ6BK0
It was nice, but can't told the controller. The size is almost the same surprisingly..
Hello, I was thinking for getting a butterfox case because I’m about to go on vacation and I need a bigger case so that I can stores everything. Is this a good option https://www.amazon.com/ButterFox-Nintendo-Switch%EF%BC%8CFits-Charger%EF%BC%8CBuilt-Accessories/dp/B075PVC8WR
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B075PVC8WR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Or just get a Switch case.
Is this what you’re referring to?
So i just got a Switch, slightly bumped out by the news of the announcement of the better battery life version but its fine.
I'm intending to dbrand skin my switch and am looking for a slim case to carry it around in. My options are SF Waterfield Pouch or tomtoc slim case
Any other recommendations? I don't need a case to carry chargers and extra accessories around. Also thinking of getting a gripcase for home use.

1.) For scratch & bump protection I have the Nyko Thin Case on my Switch (available in different colors):
https://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Thin-Case-Dockable-Protective-Protector/dp/B072KHS2Q5/
https://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Thin-Case-Dockable-Protective-Protector/dp/B077ZKVRTR/
It's a thin plastic case around almost all of your Switch to protect it from scratches & bumps, and comes with a tempered glass screen protector. It's also dockable, and thin enough to fit in many carrying cases.

If you want a Switch case that matches your Pikachu/Eevee theme, they have some available now:
https://www.amazon.com/HORI-Nintendo-Switch-Pikachu-Protector/dp/B07HMTX414/

2.) For everyday travel protection, you can get a zippered carrying case. Since I love "slim", but didn't want to sacrifice protection, I bought the TomToc Slim Hard Case (available in different colors):
https://www.amazon.com/Compatible-Nintendo-Hardshell-Cartridges-Accessory-Sswitch/dp/B0769GCSMK/
https://www.amazon.com/Compatible-Nintendo-Original-Hardshell-Cartridges-Accessory/dp/B07C3Z8FFC/
When the Switch first came out, there weren't that many choices for "slim" hard cases, but now I see there are several similar-styled cases that also look pretty durable.

And again, if you want an everyday carrying case that is Pokemon-themed, they have some available now too:
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Pikachu-Officially-Licensed-Pokemon/dp/B07HBMKFVY/
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Pikachu-Officially-Licensed-Pokemon/dp/B07HBMZRJT/
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-System-Travel-Pikachu-500-110/dp/B07HM6Q8L9/
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Deluxe-Pikachu-Element-500-093/dp/B07GX89VWN/
... just google for more.

3.) If you travel long-distances or on lengthy trips, you may want to get a larger zippered hard case to fit your chargers, battery packs, extra joy-cons and/or pro controllers, HDMI dock, tons of games, etc. I don't have any one in particular to recommend, but in searching ebay it seems like there are hundreds of different cases available now (though not all of them look good).
I highly recommend a case. I don't think a screen protector is enough for taking the switch on the go. I wouldn't want to throw it in a back pack without one. I have bought two cases for mine and the one I linked below is my favorite and most form fitting.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0769GCSMK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1
I also recommend getting silicon grips for portable play. The form factor of the Switch is not comfortable and having the extra bump on the back of the grips for your hands makes a world of difference and they are not expensive.
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Comfort-Grip-Joy-Guards/dp/B01N7RYBLX/ref=sr_1_17?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1542631523&sr=1-17&keywords=comfort%2Bgrip%2Bswitch&th=

Link for one of the TomToc ones a couple of people have mentioned (this is what I've used for the last several months and it's pretty slim, offers good protection, has a few spots for games, and doesn't look too crazy);

https://www.amazon.com/Compatible-Nintendo-Switch-Hardshell-Cartridges-Accessory/dp/B0769GCSMK?th=1
Tomtoc Portable Hard Shell!
It's a hard case, but doesn't takes much space like some.
Does anyone have the tomtoc case? It's on sale and I want to buy it but some of the reviewers say it leaves marks on the switch. For those of you that have it, did it leave marks?
Not sure about fitting in pocket but I got TomToc
I use this case and toss it in my backpack along with the charger. I think it’s perfect. Absolutely love this case. Has a hard outer shell and the inside is very soft. It even has an interior flap that holds 8 cartridges. I highly recommend it.
Im not sure about messenger bags. I haven’t seen anything like that for the switch.
I just did this joycon replacement last week. It feels a bit stiffer/clicky versus the Pro Controller, which is actually great for single-direction inputs.
Amazon link
Mod your controllers to have a D-Pad, or buy one of these. Problem solved.
The analog stick isn't that terrible, aside from the high failure rate due to things getting inside of it.
At that price point, I'd rather just buy and swap the shells myself.
Pretty much actually: https://www.amazon.com/BASSTOP-Controller-Replacement-Electronics-D-Pad-White/dp/B076SN9G5Y
No rumble, no battery, for 26 bucks.
I see what they are getting at, but that thing is a turd. get these:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076SN9G5Y/
and DIY it up.
I bought this, slightly modified the d pad with a very small ball bearing on the bottom centet to prevent all 4 contacts from touching, and it works AMAZING! I can even play Tetris 99, Mortal Kombat 11, and Street Fighter 2 with no issues at all.
https://www.amazon.com/BASSTOP-Controller-Replacement-Electronics-D-Pad-White/dp/B076SN9G5Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?keywords=dpad+joycon&qid=1575048469&sprefix=d+pad&sr=8-7
Thanks for the information!
The glue-on options are not for me. I usually like to press hard in the heat of the moment, so I doubt those will hold for more than a few minutes.
I will probably do the swap. I don't like the clear ones either, and it's a shame only white ones exist (https://www.amazon.com/BASSTOP-Replacement-Controller-Electronics-Joycon-Atomic/dp/B076SN9G5Y?th=1). I will purchase another set of joycons so I don't ruin my only ones, and do the swap there.
Buy these: Metal Lock Buckles Repair Tool Kit for Nintendo Switch NS Joy Con with Screwdrivers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078X4YWCG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Wx3EAbGHSK53Z
They sell a metal lock, apparently
The problem is the latching mechanism. It's made of plastic and easily damaged.
There are aftermarket replacements on eBay or Amazon you can buy that replace the pieces with metal. I've been running with them for awhile and they work great.
Metal Lock Buckles Repair Tool Kit for Nintendo Switch NS Joy Con with Screwdrivers
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078X4YWCG
(You'll likely see this message down voted by naysayers, though. Some people think these parts could lead to switch damage. It hasn't happened for those of us who installed them, though.)
I'd buy the metal joy con replacement latches. You can find them on amazon for very cheap. replaces the malleable plastic causing your issue with a solid metal latch. You can order them on ali-express for super cheap or snag a kit off amazon for a few bucks. https://www.amazon.com/Buckles-Repair-Nintendo-Switch-Screwdrivers/dp/B078X4YWCG/
I bought this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078X4YWCG
This looks great. It could be what I need to finally give up my AliExpress silicon grips. They make it more comfortable, but the thickness of the silicon impedes on button presses. This has no drawbacks from what I can tell.

As far as the rail strength, I seriously doubt they will be compromised. If anything people should be more concerned about the plastic clip that keeps the joycons from sliding off the switch. Those wear easy and these extensions might cause more torque/stress, but I have fixed them before super easy so I'm not worried.
Yep, I use this
8Bitdo Wireless Controller Adapter for Nintendo Switch,Windows,Mac & Raspberry Pi with a OTG Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B7LMM52/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_9kGvDb2PMPJ80
if you have a ps4/xbox one i would get this! It allows you too connect ps4 and xb1, ps3 and other bluetooth devices to your switch. IMO This is great especially if you already had one of those consoles since the switch controllers are 70! Good luck
I just recently did a lot of research myself on the Switch and the options. This is what I have to say:
With the Lites, each would have "their own" and could play at the same time.
With Nintendo Family, there will be elements of game sharing available, but you will still be buying mult copies of games at times.
Just one Switch Red box, will limit them to playing together. With a WiiU and the 2 3DS's, they will have options, although the switch is the cooler new thing, and they will want more facetime with that.
One thing to mention is, the Switch Red Box will come with a dock to hook up to a TV. While the Lite's do not. Also, I would recommend researching 3rd party docks. I did recently and with some of the results, I only feel comfortable with the Nintendo Dock. Which is another $100 I think.
Sidenote: You might look at this guy 8Bitdo This plugs into the switch and allows you to use an existing PS4 controller (or xbone with BT) with your switch. They also make 3rd party controllers as well. Since you're a PS4 dad, you might have an extra, and if you want to join in on some SMASHBROTHERS!!! you can use your own controller and feel comfortable. (also recommend Breath of the Wild...but you might take over your kids new Switch once you try it)
Also to clarify, I don't have a Switch yet; hoping I can hold out for Black Friday and get a good deal (if there are any) on the console. Got a friend that loaned us his to try...yeah, its nice. You might buy a Switch Red Box, 8BitDo, and a Switch Lite....so you have two Switch's for the kids, and well....the Red Box for you/kids to share. I am a PC gamer and the Switch has me pumped to try it out/play some games on it.
I'm not using a dongle
Do I need one of these?
https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Controller-Adapter-Nintendo-Raspberry/dp/B07B7LMM52
Will this work on switch with a ps4 controller? i know that 8bitdo is licensed by nintendo but im not sure if this would brick my switch.
Tldr: Just bought the 8 bitdo adapter linked below, I love it, can I use my synced Xbox controller to turn on the switch?
----------
So, I was here a few days ago asking about a cheap wireless controller. Instead of the controller, because I have a spare Xbox One X controller I don't use much, I ended up buying this
8Bitdo Wireless Controller Adapter for Nintendo Switch,Windows,Mac & Raspberry Pi with a OTG Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B7LMM52/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_mQhJBbTD6A2G7
I just got it today, it works really well. My only question, is there a way for me to turn the Switch on using my Xbox controller? It's already synced up, but if the Switch is off, and I hold the power button on the Xbox controller, it looks like it turns on, but the Switch never turns on, and eventually the controller starts rumbling like it's trying to connect.
Here's a product link by the way.
I've been using this Bluetooth adapter for my Switch to use my Jaybird Tarah's. If you need a way to connect, this is a solid choice. There's also one out there that allows you to charge your switch and use bluetooth at the same time. Both great options!

https://www.amazon.com/HomeSpot-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Compatible-Headphones/dp/B07L9SL7ZT
If you're interested in using your AirPods with your Switch, consider picking this up: https://www.amazon.com/HomeSpot-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Compatible-Headphones/dp/B07L9SL7ZT

I purchased this a few weeks ago for my AirPods and it works great. It also does not require charging as it draws power from the USB-C port which is a big plus
There's already plenty of BT transmitters with AptX-LL support, from USB ones for PC/Mac use, to models more suited for home theater use with optical input and the ability to stream to two headphones simultaneously, and even USB-C stuff meant for the Nintendo Switch...
I dunno how adaptive AptX stacks up latency-wise, seems like a riff on the variable bitrate ability of LDAC but I've not seen a lot of transmitters with LDAC either and that's been out longer... So it might be a while for adaptive AptX. AptX-LL works more than fine for TV watching or gaming tho...
I just got a Homespot bluetooth transmitter for my Switch and I love it. It lets you connect bluetooth headsets to the Switch, which isn't a feature built in for some odd reason. It's got a small form factor and 2 players can use their own headsets on it at one time. It's got a super low latency codec too if the headset supports it. $40 on Amazon.
No. Those adapters (made for cars) are receivers, they take the audio from your phone wirelessly and output it to the headphone jack (which is connected to your car).
What you want is a transmitter since the switch is outputting audio.
Something like this would work:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01IV1H1ME/ref=dp_ob_neva_mobile
But it is better to get the ones made specifically for the switch since they are much smaller and are low profile.
https://www.amazon.com/HomeSpot-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Compatible-Headphones/dp/B07L9SL7ZT/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=switch+bluetooth&qid=1571820564&sr=8-3
I use this adapter with my galaxy buds and it works perfectly.

Question for anyone who might have a HomeSpot bluetooth adapter - https://www.amazon.com/HomeSpot-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Compatible-Headphones/dp/B07L9SL7ZT/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=switch+microphone&qid=1574868486&smid=A2TZE72A6WS7QV&sr=8-6
This says built in microphone. Can I use this as a Mic in games without needing to pair a bluetooth headset to it?
I have no bluetooth adapter, but I favorite the homespot bluetooth 5.0 Audio Transmitter to get later. I like the low profile design even if it has no charge passthrough, but I don't need that for myself. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L9SL7ZT
I think the joycons off the console look comfortable enough. I mean, you just hold them in your hands, all good. When they're mounted, it looks uncomfortable.
>And for peripherals I guess I don't really get what you mean
To play online, I'd want to use voice chat. I'd need a Switch specific headset, right? Something that plugs into my phone and my Switch. And I'll want a different controller, like the pro controller. And what about friends? I might actually need 3-4 pro-like controllers. And what if I want the Switch to be my primary gaming platform, as it is for so many? I'd need to buy an arcade stick similar to the one I have on PC.
So I am stuck between two cases:

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06XTP1J5C/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A3A3E6QGUGPEMU&psc=1
Which one should I get? Or should I get both (switch inside Fintie case, which is carried in Butterfox case)? I would especially appreciate opinions from those who own one of these cases

I use the charging base from my iPad with a braided USB-C cable. The cable rolls up nicely and tucks in the pouch of my Zelda case, and I tuck the charging base right below the D-Pad.
I did some testing when I first got the Switch, and this combo charged at the exact same rate as using the official charger. I've been very happy with it!
