NTA And the fact that they are acting like such spoiled, entitled little brats is all the proof you need they’ve been stealing. You may want to look into getting a couple of these. When they complain, just let them know you don’t think you can work a combo in your sleep so this should fix the issue.

IKEA DETOLF cabinet with Azar acrylic tiered risers seem to be the winning combination for how to display amiibo in a compact space. (See example.)

Co-owner of the collection here (my boyfriend and I are both into it), have mostly lurked on this sub since December with the occasional post. Some answers to the comments:

-The clear stands are the Azar 12-Inch Three-Tier Acrylic Step Display -> Link

-Bf painted the Yoshi blue, he has an original green Yoshi as well (his favorite character, I'm a Luigi kind of guy).

-I love how we have one of the most derp Diddys I've ever seen.

Was debating to get this one instead and it might work out better. We get hit with earthquakes in my area at times so I went with the one with two ends.

Commented on a similar topic a couple of days ago, suggested they try this:

That's big enough for the Switch and comes with vent holes to get the cables through, but any lock box you can fit the Switch in should work as long as you're prepared to drill holes for the cables.

Also, sorry for making two comments, but I recommend that you sell off stuff you don't want, especially the smaller and lower quality pieces that many start off with as first pieces.

Here's some links for specific stands that I recommend. They should be versatile and are budget friendly.

U-Stands. Great for highlighting pieces in the back of displays and adding accents, sometimes can be rotated to create a two level effect.

Easel Stands. Good for displaying slabs or even books.

Sliding Stands. Good for vertical pieces, and can hold much more than you would think. Really wide pieces can start adding too much weight, so don't push them too far.

Peg Stands. Subtle and easy to incorporate into any display. 1 2 3

Slotted Acrylic Stands. Meant to hold labels so they're easy to see for pieces in the back or on higher shelves.

[These] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MU80VPB/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) are the vinyl holders and they just screw into the wall. Also the vinyl covers are held up by [these] (https://www.amazon.com/Command-Poster-Hanging-64-Strips-PH024-64NA/dp/B0751VFF2X/ref=sr_1_10?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1511070342&sr=1-10&keywords=command).

But yeah the actual vinyls are easy to access and are right next to my player. So its pretty practical.

u/LunaMax1214 · 4 pointsr/MUAontheCheap

The acrylic is a pretty good option, but when my stuff is set up, I tend toward things like this.

This way, if I ever change things up, I can use it on my writing desk, something to that effect.

Edit: Fixing my coding fuckup.

Not sure if it is the same kind but here are some I found shelves

u/Tallyburger · 4 pointsr/amiibo

It looks so small though! I think the overall small size would bother me. I have a bookshelf in my room - I don't use it for Amiibo though, since I have Michaels baseball bat cases - but it's normal size one that I feel looks a lot better. This is mine here. Could most likely use those clear stands like this or something too.

A friend introduced me to collecting/listening to vinyl records late last year/early this year(so I'm still a newb, but please hear me out). We'd get together at his place and undergo the ritual of taking the record out of the sleeve, placing it on the turntable, powering the turntable on, running a brush over it to remove dust/prevent static(and damage from static) and finally dropping the needle before sitting back and listening to the music. When the music ends you get up, flip the record, and repeat the previous processes before putting the record back into the sleeve and either putting on another record or going on about your day.

I'm now in the process of buying/setting up my own turntable after purchasing my first vinyl records earlier this year(if you save up around $500.00 USD. there will be a lot of decent "entry level" turntable/speaker options open to you) and will soon learn all the rituals involved in taking care of a turntable, speakers, etc. Other vinyl-involved rituals involve record hunting at local music/thrift stores, finding collectibles online, and caring for your records.

Aside from the rituals involved with vinyl, I really enjoy how vinyl is tied into so many different things; especially art. A lot of people display their records in frames or shelves and make beautiful "record walls" you can change around as needed. Vinyl is also regaining popularity with people into graphic novels A.K.A. comic books) and as somebody who enjoys reading in that format I like the thought of being able to read a a graphic novel about the music industry that comes paired with a soundtrack.

The "vinyl experience" has become fun hobby to me. You'll have no shortage of rituals, audio and visual enjoyment, and excitement as you find that record to your favorite soundtrack or find a record in a store that has one of your favorite songs. It is a bit pricey to get into but I'm hoping you consider the hobby and put in some of your own research.

Hoping I've helped you, O.P.

If you're planning on getting every single amiibo and have the space, I really recommend just getting this, as its a lot cheaper than buying those cases:

Have HIM purchase the groceries. Purchase your own groceries and keep a lock box if you must to separate the "good stuff" from the cheap foods.

Btw, NTA.

He's acting very selfish and hogging the food. It's not "first come, first served" in a household or a loving relationship. My boyfriend tries to make sure I have the bigger pork chop, and I always give him extra steak. You ideally want a partner that wants more for you, not less.

Idk. Not saying break up but try the fridge lock and the separate groceries for a bit.

u/IronPatriot049 · 2 pointsr/macrame

I do a lot of craft shows and knowing how to setup for one is essential.

How much space are you getting? Are they supplying a table? If so how big is the table, if not what table are you bringing?

The table is the key, you need to know your table size so you can plan how you want to display stuff. Too cluttered and people will walk away without really looking, too sparse just looks lazy.

What I did before my first few shows was to do a mock setup at home. Luckily I had my own 8x3 table, which is the standard at a lot of these shows. From there I just started laying stuff out and trying to look at it like a customer. I also had friends help me out by giving me their opinion of my setups. The more eyes the better.

One trick I learned from an older lady doing knit stuff at my first show is that the clothes rack I use for making my macrame fits perfectly around the end of the table. Gives me a great spot to hang stuff like wall hangings and plant holders. They also fit great behind the table. After my first craft show I bought 2 more of them, luckily they were like 15 bucks on amazon, and 2 day shipping FTW.

You want to display your items in a way that is pleasing to the eye. Put some space between items so they don't all just blend right into one another. If you leave them too close you will watch peoples eyes just slide right off your table, and that is frustrating as hell.

A lot of my stuff I have multiples of, especially the plant hangers. I will display one, and keep the extras in a box under the table. As they sell I will give them the ones I keep under the table unless they insist on the display, then I just swap in the stored one.

Go to staples and make some business cards, and get a little business card display. While you are there you may even want to talk to them about making a banner sign to fit the front of your table. The added professionalism of these 2 touches will attract people and entice them to spend money with you. Once I did these 2 things I noticed a marked increase in sales at these shows.

For keychains I highly suggest a wire display.

https://www.amazon.com/Polmart-Counter-Spinner-Display-Stand/dp/B079P9C2VY/ref=sr_1_37?crid=2FPPQNE7CWK2G&keywords=wire+display+stand+for+craft+shows&qid=1568250074&sprefix=wire+display+stand%2Caps%2C136&sr=8-37

I use that one, and it serves me wonderfully. And honestly, it's one of the cheapest ones I could find. I also love how adjustable it is.

Also, I would suggest not spending too much money in preparation for your first show. Make due with what you have or what you can make yourself as you may discover you HATE doing shows. But if you do enjoy the experience, as I do, try to use the proceeds to make your display more professional, it will pay off in the long run.

u/starryeyedsky · 2 pointsr/amiibo

I just paid $16.95 for each, which is cheaper than it was when I bought one a little over a year ago (at $18.95, but only fulfilled by Amazon sold by someone else) though more expensive than when I bought the first 2 two years ago at (at $13.30 both sold directly by Amazon).

The same company that makes these things makes a slightly larger and taller version for around $25 (12-Inch W x 8.5-Inch D x 8.75-Inch H. Each step measures 2.75-Inch D.) or you can buy a 4 pack of the larger ones

This is where I got mine from. But depending on where you are, that might not be much help to you. These here are the same thing but on Amazon. They come in a pack of four, but you can find them individually if you look around. I've seen them on plenty of sites in the US for sale. The struggle for me was finding them here in Australia. I also use one of these Thirty One bags and they are amazing! I decided to buy this instead of the Thirty One insert because after awhile, the edges on the fabric one started to fold over and the hanging folders wouldn't stay. I just slid the metal organizer into the fabric one instead of tossing it to get the pen storage :P I got a lot of use out of it when I was moving classrooms last year. I never needed to worry about not having work for absent kids, having graded work, or copies for the day. I have my own classroom this year, so I'm trying out just a simple backpack, but the three days we had last week, I found myself really missing it!

  4. The rug was the second purchase I made, and I purchased an extra thick rug pad for it to make it nice and soft.

  5. And lastly, for anyone looking for a smaller bookshelf/toy storage, I really love this last little piece we added to help with organization.

RiverRidge 3-Cubby, 2-Veggie Bin Kids Floor Cabinet, White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NBVQSXS/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_mftIDbTJACYRK

Overall I pieced this room together over the course of almost the entire pregnancy, and a lot of the bigger items were purchased during sales or using coupons, which helped a ton. The smaller touches were found in clearance bins or at Dirt Cheap (i.e. The curtains, jars, mirror, etc).

Staples. They're usually the cheapest there, since they're sold in packs of two. They're also on Amazon, though, but Staples is definitely the better deal.

EDIT: Woah, they discontinued that deal on Staples. They bumped it up to a 4-pack, which is annoying. Here is the 4-pack on Staples, and here is Amazon's listing. Staples is still cheaper, but it's dumb they don't come in packs of 2 anymore.

I know what you mean. I grew up with two brothers and I found out that they were eating ice cream every day after school and that's why we never had ice cream left for family nights. I started doing the same thing because it was the only way I could get something approaching an equal share. My poor mom had to buy separate sweets for herself that were strictly off limits to the rest of us. Luckily, in our family, leftovers and things bought with your own money and properly claimed were respected, so I started doing the same thing when I got a job.

You need one of these until your husband can learn his lesson.

The record player was my parents' first one and probably the only splurge they ever made.

The lid fits perfectly in the one side and a sound bar fits perfectly in the other. The sound isn't great, so I'll have to upgrade that, one day.

You can put paper or fabric (using liquid starch) on the glass to block that. You could pick a white to match the paint of the cabinets and have a single color.

you've done a pretty good job container-izing, which is one tactic to introduce visual calm. You might tackle that again, and maybe get taller ones that stretch all the way back, especially because there are items you don't use often, I bet. and if it's taller, you can stack stuff in it without it falling over.I kind of like these desktop hanging-file holders. They are tall and narrow, and you can set them end-in on the shelf. It helps you get to the stuff in the back.

And you can pile stuff in them, or they can hold tall things (like oils and vinegars)

Iris makes them in black & frosted (Target, among other places, sells them; there are 7.8" wide and 5.9" wide); there are metal mesh ones (that would let you see what's in them but sort of "haze over" the jumbled look. And clear plastic ones. And ones w/ big holes in the side. You could decide if you want to cover the ends of them with the same wallpaper, fabric, whatever, from the opposite side. And if you went with an opaque treatment (or even with mesh), you could spiff it up with labels that are all the same style.

The problem with those is that for the finished unit to look its best, you need to get a lot that are all identical. If you go w/ the Iris frosted ones, they're easy to get in a big box at Amazon.

You also don't have to set EVERYTHING in the containers you choose; you can have most stuff containerized and the most frequently used things loose on the shelf; it'll look fine.

The other thing I've done, even over my head, is to use those desktop chests of shallow plastic drawers. I find it easy enough to push in on the side of the drawer to pull the whole thing out and look in it, even when it's way up in the air. That might work for all the meds; and then you could have three layers and take advantage of some height, and lessen their footprint. (also, you might consider how to have an easy-to-push-with-your-foot stepstool in there)

Sterilite makes those kinds of desktop drawer chests.

And they can have the wallpaper/contact paper treatment to unify them.

It looks like you do most of your actual cooking under the open shelves, so I personally wouldn't switch them around, even though the food is the messier-looking stuff. I value logistical efficiency over aesthetics.

But you could switch SOME of the dishes with SOME of the ingredients. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.

u/HermioneGee · 1 pointr/makeuporganization

I actually had a big corner desk for my collection before I got my Alex drawers and those small plastic drawers from Walmart were a lifesaver! However since you are interested in going with the acrylic drawers, I would highly recommend them. They display your makeup beautifully. I got my large acrylic units from Amazon. They hold so much! I store my palettes in drawers but If you want them on display I like the idea of a wall mount or maybe a mail organizer.

u/Caylm · 1 pointr/AnimeFigures

My collection is pretty modest in size, but I still think one Detolf would not be enough to display each figure nicely. I like admiring the work on all my figures hence the generous amount of space for each shelf. That and Black Heart is huge so she demands a shelf for herself.

racks can be as small as. a few feet high and if its enclosed it can be used as a side table or thrown in a corner. This is one of the racks I've used. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019SXSH2C/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Just threw it in a corner and put a pice of wood on top to place a few things on.

I got these tiered stands that work really well and fit nicely in the IKEA Detolf display case (which I plan on buying soon now that IKEA just opened in my city).
You can find them on Staples here
Or Amazon here
The price fluctuates a lot on both sites, so just check for whichever is less ... just remember that Staples sells them in a 4 pack and Amazon sells them individually.

I used this one for the nendoroids, and these for some of the scales.

Maybe a little pricey but I think they're worth it when paired with the detolf.

These are what I use. You can squeeze 16 pops on each detolf shelf.

[I use this acrylic display.] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0083R3DHO/)

You would need at least 2 for the SSB set, and the SMB are taller so I'm not sure how well they'd fit, vertically. Right now Ike looks to be my tallest, and the top of his head just clips the feet of Yoshi on the shelf above.

Here it is!
It's inside this shelf on these displays
Just waiting for that gold mario :)
