SmartMedia used to have FlashPath (which apparently supported MMC and SD Card as well later), and apparently there's one for MemoryStick.
They cost about $8 on Amazon.
If nothing else, it's still a good thing to have if you ever decide to upgrade the microSD card your Switch uses, or if you have an a Android phone crap the bed and you need to transfer data/apps, etc.
For Switch data transfer, just copy/paste all the data from your current card to your computer, pop the new card into the Switch and format it, then load the data from your computer onto the new card.

Whenever I want to download directly to my phone, I pop the microSD out of the adapter in the car and into the SD card adapter. I then plug it into the Lightning port on my phone. Everything appears in the photos app.

i did a driving test of the cam today and it seems really solid. smooth crisp video and the audio is pretty good quality as well.
its job insurance because if you get in a crash and its not your fault, you can prove that. CDL drivers are automatically assumed at fault for any crash, so proving that you werent at fault goes a long way. like for example if you plowed into someones rear end because he cut you off and then immediately braked, you'd be boned without a cam. its happened to me twice and im not about to let it happen unfilmed if it does.
I have a microSD to USB-C adapter that I can just plug into my Samsung phone that I keep in my car. I am sure there is probably something similar for iPhone. No need to get wireless

So, this device essentially works the same way as most other external storage solutions for iOS. Content has to be accessed through an storage vendor app, and content can only be transferred between apps that support some type of capacity to do so. This really is due to the security features of iOS that require apps and their data to be sandboxed. This makes iOS devices very safe, but cause limitations.

Some of these create their own WiFi for you to connect to for transfer purposes.
I would just use a USB cable; I do that from time to time to clear up some space. It's quick enough for me. Are you rooted? If the phone bugs out, then booting into recovery and mounting from there might make things easier.
Or, you could get something like this and not even bother with your phone bugging out.
I think you will need an external device for faster transfers from your SD card. Most built-in laptop SD card readers aren't made to run fast, so you can get a USB 3.0 device like this one can help with that (just an example, I'm not sure if it's the best one).
I think your two choices are pretty solid. Whichever you end up choosing, make sure that the configuration comes with at least 16GB of RAM (for your programs and Chrome) and your target amount of SSD storage space. These ultrathin & light laptops will almost always come with a PCIe SSD (they're slightly faster than SATA-based SSDs), so don't worry about the transfer speeds of the SSD.
That depends on how early you want to start. There are a lot of different components at play here, but each one is using the bare minimum of each.
Personally, I would start simple with building a base Home Assistant server.
Once you have your equipment, install Hass.IO using the Raspberry Pi 3 instructions.
Home Assistant does a great job of walking you through the steps. It is really easy, especially if starting with a fresh install.
From here, you now have Home Assistant running and you can play around with installing all of the various components. I highly recommend taking some time to learn the basic mechanics of adding equipment.
From there, I have done a ton of trial and error in JavaScript and HTML using W3Schools. My suggestion: come up with what you want to do, start small, and build from it.
In my case, I wanted two separate websites on one screen. DAKBoard on the top, and my Home Assistant front end on the bottom. This told me iframe, so I started here, which allowed me to do live trial and error. Eventually, I built myself up to using Repl.it for trial and error, but that's jumping ahead.
Once I got my iframes working out, I actually used Dakboard's instruction on how to build a wall display that automatically boots into a webpage.
The final step is to put your new webpage on Home Assistant's built in web server. Simply create a folder "www" under your "config" folder, add your new html page there, and direct your new wall panel to it's address.
tl;dr - start small, come up with a goal, and build up to it in pieces trying different things along the way.

The Kodak should just take a standard Mini-USB cable. You'll have worse luck with the Sony though, since I think that's going to be a proprietary cable.
Barring that, you could also get a cheap card reader. Many if not most all-in-one card readers support the Memory Stick and CF cards. This one will do what you need.
The best option would be a card reader like this one. Transferring photos from the camera through the cable will be slower and more cumbersome than just taking the card out of the camera.

You can pull everything off your SD card and transfer it over to a mini or whatever your phone is using and then just plug it back in there. If you're in the US you can also head to a Fedex Kinkos with your memory card and ask them to do a transfer, they might do it - sometimes they won't though, especially if they're concerned you have copyrighted stuff on your cards. Make sure you bring your camera with you and explain the situation, last thing you want to do is look like you stole someone else's card and are just trying to steal stuff.

If you're okay with cutting up the case a bit, you could purchase this or something similar, make a hole above the USB ports on top of the case and slide this in. Now that you have your 3D printer you could model some sort of bracket that holds it in place that you glue to the inside of the PC on the inside face of the acrylic panel.
You could also use something even slimmer, like this SD card reader to 9 pin USB header. I don't think the site is legit but just use the picture as an example.

Image Sync sucks really hard, at least on Google Pixel. Rumor has it there was supposed to be a totally new Image Sync by Oct 1 but that's come and gone and still no updates on the Ricoh Image Sync page. I've resorted to taking the SD card and getting a usb-c to SD reader that I plug into my Pixel and I pull the pictures off manually that way.

Ah, I get what you were saying now. That would be pretty neat, and you can fit a lot more flash chips in a floppy-sized square. Sony tried to make something like this happen with their Memory Stick to Floppy Converter, and I've also seen an SD card to floppy adapter.
Adobe has a mobile version of Lightroom. It's supposed to support raw formats, but I'm not sure how you get a .cr2, .arw, .nef, .dng, whatever onto iOS. I'll let you sort that part out.
Last time I did something similar I used a USB-C card reader attached to my Blackberry to push photos to a Dropbox folder on the go. I used .jpgs and Snapseed (App Store and Play Store) in the middle and left the raw files for later archival.
The time before that I used WiFi transfer from an A7S2 and did everything in Google Photos. Those were snapshots of friends at a theme park so I wanted the simplest/fastest method.
The Note 2 has OTG support on the USB-C port. You can store stuff on everything from an SD card reader to a USB Flash drive or even an external USB SSD if you want.

I've been using a G1W-C for about 6 months. It's cheap (~$40) and has a capacitor so it holds up better in the heat. Every once in a while if it gets really hot the suction cup may fail while it's parked (hasn't happened while driving) - other than that there's not much else to say. It uses a t-mount so you could swap the suction cup for something else if needed.
Also bought this so I could put any videos on my phone and not have to bring the card in/out of my house.

The adapter is plastic but is pretty sturdy, and I'm happy with the way it blends with the rest of the case (I'm not at home right now so I can't take a pic but I could tomorrow night). This card reader uses a 19-pin USB 3.0 connector, which you motherboard (the Asus H97-Plus) can accommodate.
The issue with this setup is that your motherboard (like mine) has only one USB 3.0 header, so you have the card reader (which also has a single USB 3.0 port itself) and front USB 3.0 ports of the R4 case competing for the header. My solution was to demote the front USB 3.0 ports of the case to USB 2.0 ports by using a Silverstone USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 Adapter and plugging that into a free USB 2.0 header (hopefully you have a free one of those)

I don't have the case but I think there will be one USB3 and maybe one USB2 header needed by the case, and one USB3 and one USB2 needed by the optical reader (which has SD card reader on it, and you can buy a microSD to SDcard adapter for). Your motherboard has 2 internal USB3 headers and 2 USB2 ones, so you don't need the splitter. If you want to buy an SD/microSD card reader, buy an external one like this.

Kingston MobileLite. I have been using it for last 2 weeks. It works very well as a bridge to send your photos or videos from an SD card to a USB drive. I can send back & forth photos and videos from my iPad to an SDcard/USB. I also stream movies to my iPad/android table. You need an applications from apple/google store to do the transfers.
The app is ugly and sometimes hard to use but most of time works fine. It's cheap if you already have USBs & SD cards laying around.

Windows Phone does not support USB OTG so you won't be able to use a USB card reader to access the SD card, I'm afraid.
It looks like there are several Wi-Fi card readers on the market, but I have no personal experience with them (and don't know whether they need an existing Wi-Fi network to connect to or can work in ad-hoc mode, or whether you need special apps for them). It might be something you could investigate, however!

Pi 4 is overkill, a 2 would work fine, but I'd recommend a Pi 3 for $34 cause it is better hardware and will probably last longer. I tried a PiHole on a Nano just for fun but the PiHole GUI preformed abysmally.
and don't cheap out on the SD card, splurge and get a $5 - 16GB SanDisk or something reputable. I have about 9 active Pi's now running 24/7 for years and the only problems I ever have run into are due to corrupted or failed sd cards, because I used old crap laying around my office, or the cheapo ones they put in those Pi bundles you see on amazon. All the other stuff in the bundles is fine (power, usb cables, hdmi adapters, heat sinks cases, etc) but the cards always blow.
For a Pihole all you should need is a 16GB micro SD card(8 would work, but good companies don't seem to make them anymore) a micro usb cable for power, and an ethernet cable to attach it to your router. If you don't have a laptop or something with a micro SD slot, you may need something like this for the setup process(setting up the sd card is done on a computer)

That's going to be 10Gb/s which should be more than fine for your needs. Keeping it SFF makes this really your only option unless you want to get one with a 5 1/2 inch drive bay you can attach via SATA, or getting a MitX board for a SD card pci-e card.

I previously had a SanDisk All-in-One reader but it died pretty early, so while I do recommend SanDisk cards, I wouldn't recommend their reader. Whatever you get, I'd recommend buying a couple extra if possible. Regardless of how good the reader is there's a chance the electronics might die, a student might jam a card in backwards and bend the pins, some student might get board and intentionally damage it, or one or two might go missing.

It would be expensive to implement unless they could get a lot of sd to 3.5 floppy adapters from source in bulk. They would have to make it a tier add on. Realistically, the money from funding could be put to the game. If they try an implement too many expensive add ons it will detract from the game. Its a neat idea though. Your better off to do it your self. Just request that NDS make an image of system shock available as an optional download with your tier package, or make an image your self from the gog download when it becomes available. Write it to the sd card (make sure its bootable) and stick it in the adapter. I do agree with you that it is weird.
However, it is not that the flash drive doesn't work, because I'm able to play the games (hence, reading data is not a problem, apparently). When I try to go to the home menu, that's when the problem appears. So it might be that the the flash drive is unable to write data and that this problem comes from the adapter (since I test it with two different flash drives and it has the same behaviour with each one).
I also noticed that one of the usb ports of the adapter seems to not recognize the flash drive.
I'm using the Inateck Hub which a lot o people praise. It was working ok, but again, I stopped using it for months and something must have happen in that time.
Hmmm, you're right. Looks like there aren't really any 512GB microSD cards out quite yet. I was confusing micro SD with SDXC.

Alternative to the Y cable, you can also connect a powered USB hub. Remember, it is the external devices that needs to be powered, not your Android device itself.
I'm also using two micro-USB accessories: this Kingston thumbdrive that I keep in my wallet, and this OTG card reader by Transcend that also have one USB port.
Typically when people are able to do this, it's because their cam has a WiFi feature that allows them to connect their phone to download files.
Without such a feature, you can still copy footage for people easily enough - if your phone supports "OTG" / "USB host mode" – most phones these days do – you can buy dongles for like $10 apiece that allow you to plug in the microSD card and a full sized thumb drive.

Ah, I see. Would you actually be using micro SD cards in your camera? Another option you might consider with all those ports is an OTG SD Card reader. I found one for $9 on Amazon. It doesn't seem to be that common to me anyway that it's actually convenient to pop SD cards in and out of phones. With the Galaxy S7, it's a pain, since you need the tool to get it out and it involves removing your SIM card every time and worry that one of them will get stuck when you put it back in. Not to mention that you couldn't really have apps on the SD card if you're always taking it out. In the past I've had phone where the SD card goes under the back cover. Have you seen a phone where it's convenient?
The comments about how it fits the SP3 on its Amazon page seem to be torn between "perfect fit" and "it wiggles."

Hi,
Getting photos off an SD card is simply a matter of buying a USB SD card reader (like this one, but be careful of cheap ones, they're probably slow).
In the mirrorless vs DSLR debate I can't really give much advice except that the choice that you make now could likely tie you down for a while in terms of buying lenses for a specific format. For that reason I would recommend getting a cheaper DSLR from an established brand (eg Nikon/Canon) as if you upgrade later all your lenses will work on bodies from the same brand and there will be a huge scope. However do research here and find the best camera at your price point.
I would suggest going for APS-C sensors (crop, not full frame) because they tend to be cheaper and perfectly good for beginners. However when shooting on a crop sensor lenses look more "zoomed in" than on a full frame, 1.5x more telephoto. For example a 50mm lens on full frame looks like how your eye sees a scene but on an APS-C camera it will be a tighter crop, the equivalent of a 75mm lens on a full frame. For that reason, if you want the 50mm equivalent for crop you are looking more towards a 35mm lens.
I have an APS-C Nikon camera (the D7200) and absolutely love the 35mm. I use it for nearly everything. However a prime lens (one focal length) is not particularly adaptable, buying a zoom lens (like 18-70) would give you greater range.
My thoughts are the street guardians are overpriced. In my family we have all viofo's of different models. Get the A129 pro (non 4k) or the new 4k version. You might be able to get the A129 Pro non 4k for cheaper now too. Maybe...
My daily driver, I have a A119S in the front and cheap Rexing camera in the back, that both record of their own sd cards. At the time, budget dual channel dash cams were not out yet. So when I had my rexing in the front, I moved to the back when I upgraded and got A119S. Since both of my cameras work, I don't need to upgrade but if I would, The A129 Pro would be my best bet. And the 4k version is kinda overkill, From what I read 4k will be harder to capture license plates.

For example, I got rear ended a few weeks ago. Before the cop could finish writing his report, I pulled the card out of my back camera, connected to my phone with the above adapter and uploaded the entire thing to my Google Drive right from my phone.
The wifi feature is nice to have but it's not a deal breaker to me.
Viofo will not let you down. good product, especially the CPL filter is a must. .
A solid high endurance SD card is needed too. With a dual channel setup you want 64-128GB. I suggest the 128GB.

Companies are currently bringing out massive SD cards (512GB cards were announced a couple of years ago and 1TB cards have recently been announced).
Could a simple, compact & elegant solution be to just take a couple of those then only copy to HDD once you get back from your trip?
Those giant ones are still pricey though so you might as well opt to get a stack of 256GB cards (you'll only need 3-4 cards for 40GB/day over three weeks). (or even 128GB cards). Will likely still tip you a bit over budget if you're doubling up for backup purposes, but the added flexibility will make it worthwhile IMO.

For backing up I'd get something like this instead of a regular OTG cable. It's an OTG cable, SD card reader and USB hub in one.
With that you can either backup from the SD card in your camera to a second SD card, or take the SD card from your camera place it in the SD reader then copy to an external HDD (the HDD caddy will need a power supply as a phone/tablet won't supply enough juice).
Personally I'd sell your external HDDs and do everything with large SD cards. They're smaller/lighter and easier to conceal, as well as being waterproof, dustproof, shockproof (no moving parts), etc. Also means less devices to carry around (and risk getting pinched).
Once a card is full make a copy of it, keep both cards, then start recording onto a new card.
...probably more realistically you'd incrementally backup the current card at the end of each day onto its twin.
Another advantage is that should all your backing-up methods fail (broken phone & tablet, whatever) you'll still have the original footage on the SD card it was shot on and don't need to re-use the storage on that card again all trip.

I'm going to assume this is an SDHC card, but this works for other cards as well. Just get a USB card reader that works with your type of card. I can't comment on the quality of the device, but it appears to have decent reviews.
I have a Pixel 3 (not XL) and just bought the Anker 2-in-1 card reader, and it does not work. I try to switch what controls the device (USB to phone) but the phone cannot switch it over.
Whatever you are syncing in Hakchi will show up on the USB. If you synced on the NAND first, they will look the same.
I usually use USB to do 99% of playing, BUT I setup my machine to have a slightly different set of games when USB is not plugged in. To do this I made a copy of my HakchiCE install. In the second install I removed most of the games I have for the USB version, and sync straight to the machine.
The reason I have two is for the very rare occasions I want to play with more than 2 players. I can plug in my OTG and use it to add more controllers, and because I don't have the USB dongle plugged in, it means I can play 5-player Bomberman.
So, my NAND-only install just has a series of 4/5 player games setup to play through Retroarch (they are all usually setup to play through Canoe on the USB install).

Why FireWire? I didn't even know there were FireWire card readers. I use this USB 2.0 reader. Sure, the constant transfer speed is somewhat slower than FireWire, but I usually attend to other tasks while transferring.
I am moving data I need back and forth using a MicroSD adapter + card. Things I don't need all the time I keep on the SD card. Not as convenient, but probably the fastest option. The adapters typically have a MicroUSB port on one side and a regular USB on the other, so moving from the PC to the card is quick too.

For instructions on what drivers you need to install from multibeast, read this post here. It uses the same motherboard. You should install everything that guy does except for the GPU stuff, as that's obviously going to be different.

I installed this DVD burner and it works out of the box. Not all DVD burners work, so if you need one I suggest this. There are also bluray drives that work out there for OS X.
I also installed this card reader. It just plugs into one of the USB 3.0 headers on the motherboard. You'll need a 3.5" to 5.25" front panel adaptor though, since that case doesn't have a 3.5" slot on the front. But those adapters are like 5 bucks.
