Prices aren't very accurate for the UK, thanks for the list though:

Tt Black - £25

CM Xornet - £17

Gigabyte M6800 - £8

Coolermaster Storm Spawn - £27

Logitech G400 - £28

Corsair M60 - £48

Have linked to the cheapest reputable shop selling each of those for the UK, maybe someone else can finish the list.

I have had this mouse for probably at least ten years now:

http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-D58-00026-Intellimouse-Optical-Mouse/dp/B00005TQ08

I love it. Unfortunately, it's started on occasion leaking grease or something out of the mouse wheel, but it otherwise functions perfectly. I will surely replace it when it bites the dust. It is very comfortable, simple, yet with great functionality (with my setup, the thumb button minimizes windows; the button on the other side switches between windows).

u/Bismuth-209 · 15 pointsr/windowsphone

This MS item folds flat when not in use and is BT compatible with 8.1. I do like the cool inventions MS makes, and I'd rather have these types of things rather than (never updated) apps like snapchat.

You don't need a pc to check your dps. You can fight the o5s dummy, if you don't beat it on time and it has loads of hp left, then you got some work to do on your gear and/or dps rotation.

> Told him I’m only here to play this game and have fun, he said I’m screwing up with my bad DPS.

And why do you think that person is there? They're there to have fun too.

Being there just for fun doesn't mean it's okay to not be practical about things. You went there for a kill, everyone else did too. It's not fun to keep trying when it's futile. If your dps was as low as you were told, then it's likely you made killing the boss impossible. A lot of people don't find a lost cause fun.

> Was playing FFXIV for the 1st time in 2 months from coming out of the hospital (car accident which gave me a mild concussion and gave me issues with the right side of my brain and some numbness in my right hand). I always been good at FFXIV but I lost some movement in my right hand and my play style has changed.

I really understand where you're coming from. I'm recovering from nerve damage in my back. At its worst I couldn't even hold a spoon to feed myself. For months I couldn't play any games, when I could play ff again I couldn't do more than one or two roulettes a day for months.

But random players won't know this at all. No one assumes if someone is playing badly it must be because of some injury. They assume it's because that player doesn't know what they're doing (and to be fair this is the case most of the time). Even if you did tell them it doesn't change that your performance wasn't good enough.

My advice would be to play with people you know. When I started doing combat again I did all my roulettes with the same tank. If I started getting pains or numbness I told him on voice chat and he slowed down his pulls or used defensive cooldowns (I was healing) to reduce the amount of things I had to do. He paced how he played to match the pace I could achieve with my condition at the time.

It's going to suck to read this but you may have to face the fact that you're currently not savage material. I certainly was not until more than a year had passed since my own injury. I get that you want to do challenging content, I really do. But wanting to do it and being able to are not the same thing.

You say your injury affected your playstyle, it affected me too. It forced me to use an ergonomic mouse instead of an ordinary one. It was strange to use at first but the difference it made in how much I could play was huge. After making this change I could play much more and better. Perhaps you should look in to controlling your character with something else.

I hear keyboard and mouse does work on ps4. You say you have issues with your right hand. With keyboard and mouse, if you use keyboard keybinds for your rotation then your left hand does most of the work. Playing in such a different way would be alien though so I'd advise learning to on an alt or a very low level class. It might be overwhelming to make the switch and have to relearn how to interact with a large amount of abilities. Although maybe there are ergonomic joypads on the market? I really am unsure.

Wow this post ended up much longer than I intended.

Hey broski. Back in the day, the Zowie bungee was the only decent option, but nowadays almost any mainstream-ish bungee should work.

That said, here are a few recommendations, considering you might like certain brands/aesthetics/colors more than others!

Great mouse. You can find it cheaper though. This is just the particular one that I bought.

Amazon brand stuff gets a much wider definition of what is comparable. I've been keeping track of the price of this gaming mouse and the Amazon brand mouse that is recommended is not even close. It's basically the same deal - nobody in the market for one of the most expensive wireless gaming mice on the market is instead buying a cheap off brand wired mouse.

u/nupogodi · 6 pointsr/hardware

What are you talking about?

Just an example,
G Pro Wireless: 240 CAD, 150 USD.

240 CAD in USD: $185. It's cheaper in the US.

Literally everything is like this.

u/CovenTonky · 6 pointsr/BuyItForLife

Don't I know it. This guy lasted me through everything, but it was not immune to puppy.

Now, I have... five different dead Logitech devices? Including two ~$100 keyboards.

Yeah, we don't buy Logitech anymore.

u/Duggers · 6 pointsr/NewToTF2

I believe the Logitech G400 is the new version of the one I have had for yonks the MX518. Inexpensive and pretty damn good quality. At the end of the day, short of using a very cheap office mouse: it's all down to the player's skill.

u/Kinvelo · 6 pointsr/sysadmin

When I displaced my shoulder and was in a sling last year, this trackball thumb mouse made a huge difference! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0057KL2AU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Zh.8ybEBAD1B3

u/SidewaysLevin86 · 6 pointsr/Surface

MX Anywhere 2 ($51) Link It's just big enough to not feel awkward in the hand but small enough to put in your bag without adding much bulk. Also it's rechargeable via usb and so far I've only charged it twice in the year I've had it. Great investment if you're mobile.

u/HonzaS97 · 6 pointsr/GlobalOffensive

You can find very cheap ones like this one, I bought it for even cheaper, around $4.

There's no point in spending like $30 for the Zowie one, it works the same. You can just buy the cheap one and see how it will work for you.

u/IMSJacob · 5 pointsr/hardware

I just want them to bring back these... They were the best trackball mice ever.

u/FF0000it · 5 pointsr/Trackballs

I can't imagine anyone making a fake while Logitech is still making them & selling them for only $27 on Amazon US, which is where the majority of the sales are.

The motivation for making a counterfeit would be either if Logitech stops making them i.e. this one which used to go for $60 but is selling for 10x that now that it's been discontinued, or if they were going to make super-cheap knock-offs that sells for $10.

u/OsmeOxys · 5 pointsr/gadgets

I rather like gaming mice, particularly the naga. I find the side buttons massively useful for teamspeak, puush, macros, and AHK. Amusingly, a 10 dollar mouse has 2 side buttons and better wireless ability than any "gaming" mice with or without side buttons. ^(Side note, mice with generic side buttons, meet) ^x-mouse

Keyboards I couldnt care less about. The only benefit are the macros, which are pointlessly out of reach anyways. If you want mechanical, look at a generic kind.

Or simply put... Other than a quality, preferably wired, gaming mouse, everything is a joke.

u/aforsberg · 5 pointsr/techsupportgore

Don't really need one: the Surface Edition mice (yes, that is how they are branded) do not have any USB connectivity, a selling point for a device that has only one USB port.

There are a few different breeds of these mice, it seems. This is (I believe) the exact unit pictured. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FG7MZP0

EDIT: I'd like to report that there are, indeed, screws at the indicated spots on this mouse. You were correct there. That said, I'm still not the one who punched a screwdriver through a $70 device: my coworker made that mistake.

u/Hovas_Witness · 5 pointsr/MouseReview
u/pinacolata_ · 5 pointsr/mac

Does $500 include the monitor, keyboard and mouse?

For mounting your MacBook Pro properly to desk, you have 3 real options depending on if you want to be able to work from it (unlikely) or just have it closed in clamshell mode and use an external keyboard and mouse to mount vertically to save desk space.
Option 1: Rain Design mStand (comes in Silver and Space Grey) $40. I use this personally when I have my MBP set up next to my 5K iMac and 27" Thunderbolt Display.
https://www.amazon.com/Rain-Design-mStand-Laptop-Silver/dp/B000OOYECC
Option 2: Twelve South BookArc (comes in Silver and Space Grey) $50 - for use in clamshell mode only
https://www.amazon.com/Twelve-South-Space-Saving-Vertical-notebooks/dp/B016EWLDTE?th=1
Option 3: General vertical laptop stand (I have it in Silver, unsure how well their space grey matches) - $20. Cheap, minimalist, but does the job. Clamshell mode only.
https://www.amazon.com/Vertical-Adjustable-OMOTON-Aluminum-Chromebook/dp/B074PPGHMC

Next is an external keyboard, I'm going to stick with an Apple aesthetic for this recommendation and not any gamery mechanical ones. Depending on if you want a numeric keypad or not, there's either Apple's Magic Keyboard 2 or a Satechi wireless one with a numeric keypad. I don't think Apple's Magic Keyboard 2 with Numeric Keypad is worth an extra $70 over the Satechi.
Option 1: Satechi Wireless Keyboard with Numeric Keypad (comes in all colours) $80.
https://www.amazon.com/Satechi-Aluminum-Bluetooth-Keyboard-3-Device/dp/B07F2SF4RH
Option 2: Apple Magic Keyboard 2 (without numeric keypad - White only) $99.
https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MLA22LL/A/magic-keyboard-us-english

For mice, I'd avoid Apple's Magic Mouse like the plague because words can not describe how bad it is to use.
I'd recommend mouse that you can also use with just your MBP while on the go, not heavy, big mice that only really belong on the desktop at home. No mouse really stands out to me apart from this one, honestly.
Logitech MX Anywhere 2s (unfortunately they stopped making them in white) $50. Can connect via bluetooth so no dongles.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071VK5KXN

For monitors, at this price range you won't have a neat 1 cable display and power solution like you'd get from a 23.7" 4K LG UltraFine display for example or HDR10, or Retina. 1440p 27" displays are a bit out of this price range, but I'd personally sacrifice pixel density and get a 1080p display anyways so I still have a 27" display.
Option 1: HP 27es 1080p 27" bezel-less IPS display (Silver) $219.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N9H3BI4
Option 2: ASUS VZ239H-W 1080p 23" bezel-less IPS display (Silver) $139.
https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VZ239H-W-1080p-Monitor-White/dp/B07489Q7TY/

Then you need cables to connect your MBP to the display (the keyboards and mice are bluetooth). If you only have 2 TB3 ports, you may want to buy a multiport adaptor or else you will have 0 free ports with my solution (as you need the other port for power).
USB-C to HDMI cable (Black) $12.6. I have it to connect my MBP to my 4K TV and it works flawlessly.
https://www.amazon.com/CableCreation-Thunderbolt-Compatible-MacBook-Chromebook/dp/B06XDMKQKJ/
If you need a multiport adaptor, I'd recommend this Satechi one (comes in all colours) - $60
https://www.amazon.com/Satechi-Aluminum-Multi-Port-Adapter-Charging/dp/B01J4BO0X8

Total price as configured (BookArc + Satechi Wireless Keyboard with Numeric Keypad + MX Anywhere 2s + HP 27es + USB-C to HDMI cable) = $412. If you need a mulitport adaptor and don't have one already, it'll be $472.

u/MainerZ · 4 pointsr/buildapc

They don't make em like this any more.

Any other trackball config doesn't feel right to me. Wish i'd kept mine, I had 2!

u/jarkyttaa · 4 pointsr/gamingsuggestions

I know this is a bit tangential, but a few years ago I broke my right hand (one of the bones between the wrist and the base of the finger) but couldn't work without using a mouse. I ended up buying one of these and could use it while my hand was in a cast and even raided in WoW with it.

u/mleonhard · 4 pointsr/reddit.com

This article is terribly superficial. I take issue with the author's comment on the Twiddler 2:

> It looks to be quite painful to use, or what do you think?

It is unfortunate that the hand in the photograph is tensed. The author lacks the insight to see that this keyboard actually relieves stress on the hand. It is the only keyboard on the page that allows the hand and arm to remain in the naturally relaxed position: arms hanging down at side, hands and wrist relaxed, fingers curled inward.

In comparison, the SafeType keyboard relieves only the rotation of the forearm. It still requires bending of the elbows and extension of the fingers.

The purpose of these keyboards is not WPM but ergonomics. The author says that the FrogPad "wins the round" against the Twiddler 2 based on speed of typing alone. This is riduclous. Any user with repetitive stress injury or carpal tunnel syndrome from using a traditional keyboard will find some relief in the Twiddler2, while the FrogPad may be more painful to use than a regular keyboard.

If you're looking for a "wierd" mouse that can correct many mousing-induced pains, please try the 3M Ergonomic Mouse. I highly recommend this mouse. I'll never buy another traditional wrist-twister mouse again.

I'm waiting for a five button chorded keyboard to become available. For now I make do with a MS Natural Elite.

Ich denke mit der G400 von Logitech kannst du nichts falsch machen. Hat meine MX518 vor ein paar Jahren jedenfalls gut ersetzen können.

Man I just bought that mouse a week ago for £24 on Amazon, that rise in price was quick :(

Anyway, here's what I could find on the rest of them (also sorted by price for your viewing pleasure):

Gigabyte M6800 - £8

CM Xornet - £17

Microsoft Sidewinder X3 - £22

Tt Black - £25

Coolermaster Storm Spawn - £27

Logitech G400 - £28

Logitech G600 - £52

Logitech g9x - £55

Roccat Kone - £57

Steelseries Sensei - £59

Logitech G700 - £62

Razer Naga - £66

I'm bound to have cocked this up somehow so if anyone has any corrections or better prices just let me know and I'll edit it in.

This looks a bit complicated.

u/thedefiant · 4 pointsr/hotas

CH includes an analog thumbstick on its pro throttle which most players map to thrust vectoring and translation.

A buddy of mine who has Elite dangerous says he uses a 3dmouse for 6DOF controls, He also does 3d modeling as well so if you only want it as a game controller I would say to save your money.

u/brainsapper · 4 pointsr/Trackballs

An obvious choice would be the MX Ergo which is just a premium version of the m570.

The only other company I can think of that offers a good thumb trackball would be ELECOM and it's EX-G Pro.

The later's nice because it has a lot of extra buttons relative to Logitech's. I like using mine, but overall I prefer fingerballs so I usually use my Deft Pro.

Only downside to ELECOM's mice is that the software to customize/assign binds isn't the most user-friendly.

WD Mybook 8TB for £119.99 (until midnight UK time on the 16th of July):

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LWVT81X/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeASIN=B01LWVT81X&linkCode=as2&tag=amoves-21&linkId=109e41ed89969139d870a312cd99835b

We can finally feel like Americans for a day with these bargain prices. You need to sign up for Prime as well but if you don't have an active prime membership, you can also start a new Prime trial if you haven't used your 30-day trial in the last 365 days. I just checked and these are the lowest prices these 8TB hard drives have ever been sold for in the UK.

They also have the WD Elements Desktop 8TB on a Prime Day sale for £124:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07FNK6QMT/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=amoves-21&camp=1634&creative=6738&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B07FNK6QMT&linkId=7a13bc41e7e1867b91417ef49df553e1

From what I've read it's quite similar to the MyBook but doesn't offer backup, encryption and password protection by default. Both are good for schucking. The main advantage of the Elements Desktop 8TB seems to be the ease of adding another drive in its case later on if you decide to schuck it.

The Seagate Expansion 8TB is on sale for only £109 and I've heard only good things about it in comparison to their smaller drives which seem to be problematic. I went with the MyBook 8TB myself.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07DQBFQ2D/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=amoves-21&camp=1634&creative=6738&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B07DQBFQ2D&linkId=28f3f183cd50ec9d3adf5c102ece5daa

The only other good deal I found was the Western Digital My Passport 4TB Portable. Still debating whether to buy it as well or get another Mybook 8tb. It is currently on sale for only £75 which is the second lowest price ever for it in the UK:

u/Khalas_Maar · 3 pointsr/gaming

> trackball

Those can be good if they have proper ergonomics and are not the thumb controlled trash. Problem is getting any manufacturers to make ones gaming grade suitable these days. There are old Microsoft and Logitech trackballs that were more than good enough for fps gaming but got discontinued and now go for $400+ on Amazon.

Holy shit look at the price on this model!

AFAIK the only differences between the two are that the Surface edition is slightly darker (to match the black body of the RT, SP1, and SP2), and that the original can be found for WAY cheaper on Amazon

so here are a few ergo mouse options. Along with that an mx red keyboard with orings will have about 2mm travel at about 55g of force to actuate. Couple these with proper wrist support and desk height, you should feel a lot better gaming and playing.

An ergo dox may even be better than a standard keyboard for you but a pricey endeavor.

u/caffpowered · 3 pointsr/battlestations

Reddit liked my last battlestation, so I decided to post my new, more portable solution.

My new battlestation was made under slightly more constraints. Everything I own fits into a single suitcase, as I moved to a New York City for work. When I got here, I found that my two laptops made a very unergonomic and uncomfortable workstation. TO remedy that problem, I sourced a few parts of Amazon.

I bought a stand for my tablet, two laptop stands meant for DJs, a wireless mouse and keyboard and a kneeling chair. Everything breaks down and fits into my suitcases except for the chair, which I would probably leave behind if I am forced to move again.

The tablet is used as a TV. I use it to watch documentaries, shows streamed from youtube, hulu, netflix or thepiratebay. The internal speakers on the tablet are a bit quiet, so I have them streaming to a Logitech UE Boom Mini. I've owned the two laptops since starting university - a Lenovo x200, and a x201 I bought a few years later to replace the x200 when it stopped detecting a battery. They're both pretty old now, but the x201 still manages to play league of legends (barely). The x200 (right) is hooked up to a set of Steelseries Siberia v3 headphones that I use for skype, or music / shows when my roommates are watching something else on the big TV, or are having loud sex. A small and surprisingly weak fan is constantly plugged in and does do a bit to keep me cool. I'll have to revisit the cooling solution when summer hits again.

I've considered upgrading the laptops, but then I figured I shouldn't be spending a lot of time inside gaming anyways. Instead, I bought a new snowboard for the upcoming season.

Look up a mouse bunjee, best thing ever.

Edit: Here: Generic Mouse Bungee Mouse Cord Management Fixer Holder (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ASXL0PW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_kN2vCbFDGCCAJ

It'll hold the cord, not only will it stop it from getting caught on your case, it takes all tension out of the cord so you feel no resistance from the friction with the desk and the cord.

This is the mouse bungee I got for my G Pro cable and it works fine. I don't really see a reason to pay so much for a bungee when you can get this one for $8.

Look into trackball mice. I started having symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome and tried about 7 different mice. They ranged from vertical mice to trackball. I did try out the anker vertical, and found out it wasn’t helping with all of my strain issues. I ended up settling on a traditional trackball mouse. It’s admittingly a huge learning curve. It does take a good amount of time to get used to it, and efficient enough where you’re not “thinking” to not move the mouse around (you use trackball mice in the stationary position).

I started with the Logitech M570 and used that with a Wrist Rest from my second semester of grad school until I finished (this spring). I would still have some strain, and then the Logitech MX Ergo came out and I bought it. Instantly hooked. It’s best of both worlds with trackball and vertical. Little tidbit, BestBuy sells an exclusive variant that includes an extra piece that increases the mouse’s angle. I recommend getting that one as I can’t live without it. It’s called the MX Ergo Plus.

Like you, I was having searing pains in my wrist and up my forearm after a long day of using Rhino. Both 2D drafting, and 3D modeling. Switching to an ergonomic mouse, for me a trackball and “vertical-esque” model has saved me!

Good luck, and if you have any questions just let me know!

This is exactly why I went with another OEM for my 3rd party remote for my Shield Pro.

Was asking them to release an upgrade to their M570 mouse with a speed wheel for literally years & what do they do when they finally release one?

They neuter it with a non-removable battery & make it's only power solution being tethered to an umbilical cord! Not to mention they taxed the 💩 out of the price point on this new model!!

So done with them. Time to find a new, reliable OEM for future keyboard & mice purchases.

The Intellimouse I had was the original one with one side button on each side, like this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00005TQ08/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mU5rDb5HYDFJ1

Honestly, it was so long ago and I'm sure my hand was smaller at that time, so I can't remember unfortunately. I want to say that the intellimouse was narrower, but taller than the Viper is and maybe the same length.

u/whole_milk · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I was using a Microsoft Intellimouse for about 10 years, and finally decided to purchase a new one as I was having chronic issues with the rubber feet falling off. I decided to get a Logitech G400 and love it. It feels like it's built really well, and it fits in my hand similarly to the Intellimouse, which I really like. I have no experience with the G500, but the G400 is a great option if you're looking for a solid mouse without 83 buttons.

u/Eddie_RHPS · 2 pointsr/computers
u/mike413 · 2 pointsr/techsupportmacgyver

actually that looks a little better than the 4500, but the side button is still small.

I actually switched to the Steelseries sensei which you can see has the same sort of shape as the intellimouse optical and the side buttons are ok.

That said, the drivers suck, not so much under windows, but with a mac.

microsoft actually makes great mac drivers.

u/Gwennifer · 2 pointsr/hardware

Something like this or this?

The hand angle and wrist wrest seemed better suited towards moving with your arm. I'm not sure how well they'll slide, though, or if they have a decent sensor.

CM one doesn't have as many bad reviews... :U

Of course, you could always try the Anker one. They have a brilliant customer service policy, so!

u/moviuro · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I found dis: flat ; joypad-like and dis (most common "ergonomic" form-factor: colleagues have those and seem statisfied; no idea how well you can game with them though)

u/MeweldeMoore · 2 pointsr/slashdiablo

I use a combination of different ergonomic mice, I switch between this joystick style mouse and an Evoluent VerticalMouse on my right hand, and at work I use a left-handed vertical mouse. For keyboards I use the Microsoft Sculpt at work and a corsair K65 with cherry mx red mechanical buttons at home. I also wear copper compression gloves which helps ease the pain after.

The thing I wish I had done earlier was just to address it all a lot sooner. It's easier to prevent than to treat. You could probably invest $200 and prevent long term pain. Also try using your weak hand for mousing at work so the load is split evenly. It takes time but you do eventually get good at it.

u/fabulous_frolicker · 2 pointsr/pics

u/Harry101UK · 2 pointsr/gaming

u/Mpstark · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Logitech G400 or Logitech G400s are both great mice if you're looking for wired mice. Both under your price range.

u/StanisVC · 2 pointsr/Planetside

> hard-wired standard mouse and keyboard (non-gaming), WiFi to my router (solid 54Mbps).

Get a gaming keyboard and mouse.
Especially a gaming mouse.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-G400-Optical-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00573Y2RC

There is no comparison in performance between a standard mouse - even a £30 one designed for office/desktop. It really matters.

A gaming keyboard also helps a lot. Millisecond key latency isn't so much of an issue but the ability to clearly and accurately register multiple key presses is. Standard Keyboards suffer when you press more than about 6 keys at a time. Or press 6 keys fast.

Finally, wireless. Not so much of a problem - but if you can plug in a wire. Do it. It might be milliseconds most of the time - but wireless can do funky things when the neighbor turn on the microwave next door.

u/CoffeePoweredRobot · 2 pointsr/Games

When your MX518 dies (I hope that day isn't soon for me, I love it), just grab a G400 if you don't want to find a reseller for the discontinued one. Same shell, and it doesn't have the odd pattern on top.

If you definitely must use a mouse without a desk, consider a handheld trigger mouse. I use this style of mouse while using a treadmill.

Example: https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Handheld-Finger-Trackball-Pointer/dp/B0057KL2AU

u/SpicyCornflake · 2 pointsr/todayilearned

I use the Space Mouse Pro, and unless you're doing CAD or using other software that navigates 3D space, they aren't useful. I use CATIA v5 at work, so I can't speak for other CAD packages, so keep that in mind when I review it.

Pros:

I tend to navigate large assemblies and go through parts with features on all sides, and I would guess it saves me about 25% of the time it would take with just a standard mouse. It takes some getting used to, but it allows you to navigate the space with your left hand while doing picks and clicks with your right. The hotkey buttons on the mouse are relatively ergonomic as well, but I can't speak for other 3D mice. If you're working on CAD for 6+ hours a day like I do, it's less stressful on your hands to use the 2 mouse combo. Once you get good with it, you can 2D pan, rotate, and zoom easily with your left hand. Frankly, it's also fun to mess around with while thinking.

Cons:

If you're going to be typing a lot, it slows that down, as you have more to move; my ideal situation would have a number pad next to the 3D mouse or have a 3d mouse with a numpad on it. In parts/assemblies that have parts spaced out a lot, rotating can be a pain in the ass, as it uses relative scale for rotation (for example, if I am in an assembly with scale 1000x1000x300, it's really hard to focus onto parts on the outer rim of the limits). It is difficult to learn to use; I spent 4 hours the day I got it figuring it out before I could consider myself anywhere near proficient, and after several months with it, I still have some issues rotating with it properly.

Overall Opinion:

If you're a professional CAD designer, I recommend it. The speed increase makes you more valuable, and working a full day in CAD can put a lot of strain on your hand joints, which this helps mitigate. The price point isn't bad if you're getting paid a decent designer or engineering salary, and you could probably get your employer/supervisor to budget for it.

For hobbyists, I'm not sure it's worth it unless you're doing a lot of 3D printing or something similar, but depends on how much you're willing to pay on a hobby. If getting just the ball navigator, you'll be spending about 100 USD (~£75), which isn't bad, but it doesn't give you hotkeys or the wrist rest pad.

u/MELSU · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I’ve always used the 3D Connection Space Mouse for CAD.

It’s used in conjunction with a regular mouse and is great once you get efficient with it.

u/fisherg87 · 2 pointsr/engineering

I use this at work with the left hand and it is fantastic for navigating space in CAD. It's expensive though... logitech g502 is very handy for macroing buttons to hotkeys. My favorite is keying the sniper thumb button to a zoom-in or camera-normal-to-whatever-you-have-selected hotkey in modeling software.

I'm in IT. I think monitoring users like this is stupid and unproductive. While I don't use it personally, I'm quite happy to share with you the knowledge of the USB mouse jiggler dongle. This is a piece of hardware (so no software to install to make it function) that emulates a mouse (a second mouse). It periodically moves just a tiny bit enough to reset the inactivity count.

whaaaat? how is this even possible? you might want to get an ambi mouse and use it in your left hand. otherwise i'd recommend the anywhere mx 2. I had the first version, and it served me very well. It broke after a year or two when I accidentally stepped on the receiver. only complaints with the new one are a lack of the storage compartment which isn't a big deal if your reciever (which is small) is always plugged in.

  • You are gonna have to spend the first few hours downloading all the updates, the system is pretty much unusable before that. Keep checking for updates manually until there are no more updates available.

  • I would highly recommend getting a Bluetooth mouse like the Logitech MX Anywhere 2

+1 to the Kerbal Idea, if he does not own it yet ofc. If you know a couple games he likes we can give you some good ideas. Also a mouse bungee is the best thing since sliced bread. It basically holds your mouse cable up off the table away from anything. It is pretty cheap and super awesome if you ask anyone who owns one.. Here is the amazon link.

If you need Headset recommendations I own a few pair of gaming headsets and can give a personal recommendation.

u/shshsns · 2 pointsr/MouseReview

No problem.

The wire on the g403 seems to be a braided cable so it’s not good news. However there have been instances of batches of G502 mice have bad cables, so it may just be your model, but there’s no way to be sure.

However like I said before there are many Logitech mice with the exact same shape. So you can go wireless if you’d like with the g603/g703. From what your issue I’d say you could remedy the cable drag with a mouse bungee or some cable clips.

There's a ton of companies who sell mouse bungees and usually they're pretty good. Though I'd recommend you check out reviews first since some are too lightweight or gimmicky. I personally use the Zowie camade if you got questions.

Alternatives :
I've seen people use clips like this in place of a mouse bungee: https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Clips-Management-Nightstand-Accessories/dp/B00NVKHLP8

Or you can just get a generic brandless bungee which people have said are fine : https://www.amazon.com/Generic-Mouse-Bungee-Management-Holder/dp/B01ASXL0PW

If you don't want a mouse bungee to be to big or noticeable you could also use something like this : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G1WD13M

u/Mcashley311 · 2 pointsr/Trackballs

Looks like the MX Ergo may have started the trend. Haha

u/anotherjunkie · 2 pointsr/ehlersdanlos

Boy do I have good news for you. I just went through all of this and got myself set up.

First off, try a trackball mouse. It keeps you from having to move your shoulder so you don’t crack or dislocate it while playing. Personally, I use my thumb and index finger on the ball because it eliminates most of the problems with shaking fingers moving the pointer. This is the mouse I use. It is nice because above the ball there is a DPI switch you to change the sensitivity (is moving the ball one inch moves the cursor three inches or one half inch) which is nice for shaky hands that need to hit something precise. This model is much cheaper, and I used one forever before I bought this new one.

Then I bought a separate keypad for assigning spells/attacks. It is curved and keeps your left hand at a more natural angle, and for me dramatically reduced the number of duplicate and unintended key presses. I map arrow keys to my thumb, jump under my thumb, tab above my thumb, and shift to the bottom left corner. Unless you talk a lot in chat, you’ll never need to take your hand off of it. It also has multiple “layers” through the software, so, for me, my #1 layer is modifier keys and Numbers 1-0. My #2 layer is chat emotes and system keys (escape, etc.). If you play retail, you can also bind system macros to it, that go beyond what wow normally allows (tab target tab target tab target... for hunting rares). This is the new model of what I use. There is an older version as well, but for the meager price difference you’re better with the new one.

I know that’s a lot of money to invest for WoW, but it’s really more “general computer use”. I have all my major macros (cut and paste, etc) assigned to a third layer on that keypad, and the trackball mouse is what allows me to use the computer at all.

Good luck, and I hope you find a way to enjoy it!

Ergonomics/Easing Wrist Strain - - - Purchase Advice Request

I experience wrist and forearm pain. I have identified my forearm orientation as a cause of strain (parallel to the table vs. the more natural perpendicular orientation, as if one were holding a ball).

I am deciding between these two Logitech mice:

  • Logitech MX Ergo
  • Logitech MX Vertical

I've not used either, but I've been able to hold each one in a store. The MX Ergo felt a bit more comfortable in my hand, but I am concerned about adjusting to the trackball/forgoing optical. The MX Vertical seems to be specifically designed for the problem I am describing, but again, I was partial to the feel of the MX Ergo.

Has anyone (with wrist strain) used either or both mice? Can you offer any thoughts?

    Hand Size: 18cm x 10.5cm
u/RIP_CORD · 2 pointsr/RSI

No worries! I've been dealing with this for 2 years now, I have not been evaluated recently so I'm not sure where I stand with healing, but my pain is minimal (2/10 most days, 5/10 after a day that I do not stretch). The thing to keep in mind with all of this is that RSI is unique to each person, depending on their situation and their body. Two people can be under the exact same strain and one be perfectly fine while the other develops RSI. So the main thing you need to do is evaluate everything you do with your hands, find the things that cause strain then find a way to minimize that activity or change it so that you are no longer under strain. This could be anything from ergonomic hardware, to reducing the number of times you hit ctrl+s, to less time on your phone or less time holding a book; everyone is different. It is unique to you and you will need to invest time in reducing strain.

For stretching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdD7CgN5FGg I do 60 seconds per stretch. I've adapted them over time to target the muscles that hurt the most for me. Take time and find stretches that target the muscles that ache. Be gentle but persistent. Keep in mind that often an ache in your wrist can be from a tight muscle further up in your forearm.

For massage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwySYtmtQxg Again I have adapted this. The guy in this video is somewhat aggressive, and I don't use lube either. The method of using one forearm to massage the other (top to bottom, all sides) works great for me. Find the muscles that ache and spend extra time massaging them, gently but firmly. Don't be rough, but don't shy away from the sore areas.

It is very important to take breaks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiRC80FJbHU Constant strain is never good. If you're typing for long periods, take a break.

Debating on this or the 6tb for £85. Any idea what the difference is between this and the 8TB Elements version that's £114.99?

u/cleod4 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

This is the wrong take, OP didn't ask for best bang for the buck PC, he asked for the best PC.

Cooler: Air is usually cooler and quieter than AIOs, in your machine you want the noctua nh-d15 though.

Your memory is not the best it can be for Ryzen (you want 3200c14 or 3600c16). Remember you have 4 DIMM slots, you can go 4x8 if you want, but I don't think they are cheaper than the 2x16 kits.

3600c16

or

3200c14

I personally have the latter one, Samsung b-die for good overclocking potential.

Storage: Don't put mechanical in this build for the love of god. Your "boot drive" is fine w/ the 860 evo, consider the m.2 version for slight (and I mean slight) performance gains and less wires:

also consider it's bigger brother the 970 Evo

For your "data drive", get a 2tb mx500, If you buy a mechanical drive for this build you will be banned :).

The video card situation is a weird one right now. nVidia keeps the good bins of their cards and sells the rest to AIBs. If you want the best 2080ti, you want the founders edition

But nVidia has probably the worst customer service, and 3rd party cards offer better cooling. It's a decision that's up to you. I personally went with a Founders Edition card for my build (2080 Super though).

Get an 80+ platinum power supply

This is a hot take, but consider a wireless mouse. The offerings today have no lag and gaming without cable drag is fantastic. Some suggestions:

u/fasterZ · 1 pointr/battlefield3

Make sure you get a wired mouse that is comfortable for you. There is no need to spend more than $50 unless you want programmable macros and bloatware. DPI, in general, is a marketing gimmick and doesn't really affect the performance of the mouse a whole lot. It's about consistent tracking and how it feels in your hand.

  • My mouse of choice, incredibly solid with a great track record
  • If you are feeling like spending under $20
  • If you really, honestly want to brag about DPI, also the successor to a crowd favorite (still have one as a back-up)

That being said if you have a wired mouse that you're comfortable using right now, stick with it. No reason to change what works.

Don't overlook a decent mouse pad. Whichever mouse you buy, there is likely an inexpensive soft pad ($20 or under) that will work with it. Get one. It will give you a consistent tracking surface. SteelSeries and Xtrac both make pretty nice soft pads. Hard pads are more expensive and generally have a narrower range of compatibility, so check before you buy to see if it works with your mouse.

Play on a medium/low sensitivity. Start by bottoming out your sensitivity, then slowly move it up until you can move comfortably. Do not start from the top and work your way down. You will be moving your mouse more, but you will be more accurate and consistent in your mouse movement in the long-run.

I also highly suggest you use raw mouse input in-game if you are not already. Mouse acceleration is baaaaad for developing consistent movement/accuracy. If you don't trust the game to do it for you (or you play other FPS games that do not support raw mouse input), check out this fix to remove all mouse acceleration in Windows 7.

FPS shouldn't affect your accuracy too much as long as it's consistent. Play some TDM if you want to get used to just running around aiming and shooting, then move back to conquest/rush once you're comfortable. You'll get better with time ;)

These used to be (and maybe still are, Razor Deathadder (it has no built in correction I believe) and MX518 have taken popularity as well, but once again they are usually left to 400-800 DPI, basically Optical Mice are better than Laser's iirc, I'll try to find an article) the most popular gaming mice for CS 1.6, and Quake.

u/slowdayhere · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

Mice are difficult to recommend for durability, because by the time you know something is going to last even 5-10 years, it is outdated and/or no longer sold. The original Microsoft IntelliMouse was fantastic and durable (mine still works after 10+ years), but it only has about 400 DPI which is pretty low by today's standards. It's also no longer available new.

I have had a Logitech G303 mouse for three months. As far as functionality and feel, I really like it, but the negative reviews generally mention the left-click issue you faced and a slow warranty process.

Not a lot of people seem to use/like them, but I would suggest a trackball. Some of the top companies that seem to come up quite often would be Kensington, CST, and Logitech. I personally use a Logitech as my main trackball (this one). That is no where near the original price I paid, and I have no idea when they spiked up like that, but it does seem like Logitech doesn't make that specific model anymore. I have used trackballs pretty much since I started using a computer, whether it be for gaming, photo editing, CAD software, or anything else out there. They just seem more responsive and accurate to me. Plus, they are so much more comfortable to use for long periods of time, and you need no where near the amount of desk space you would need for a normal mouse.

u/chazwhiz · 1 pointr/mac

I like the Logitech thumballs a lot, but the best was the Optical Trackman which they discontinued unfortunately... They now go for ridiculous prices third party (I.e. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Cordless-Optical-Trackman-USB/dp/B00006B9CR). If you can find one of those at a reasonable price, grab it. I'm not a fan of the "traditional" trackballs with the big central ball like the Kensington, but it's a personal preference. I'd suggest finding a store that still has physical demos, or at least buying from somewhere with a liberal return policy so you can really try it first.

u/ElevenSquared · 1 pointr/geek

In addition to some of the other excellent suggestions, I found that the following helped me a lot as well:

  1. Buy a vertical mouse. (I used this one for a while: http://amzn.to/16jPgP1) This helped me A LOT with wrist strain.
  2. Use a white-on-black (or similar) color scheme for your editor/Word processor. It's much easier on the eyes.
  3. Likewise, make your font size as big as you can bear.
  4. Turn down your monitor brightness as far as is comfortable. In my experience, most monitors are so bright by default it feels like you might as well be staring into a light-bulb all day.

I hope that's helpful. Good luck!

I personally go paperless in PF debate, except for my flows. So having a stand to get my laptop off the desk and closer to eye-level is good. (The legs detract from the height in the picture.) Also this is widely used in my circuit by all laptop debaters and it is super reliable.

Extension cords for laptop chargers are also handy if you have a laptop with a low battery life. A lot of PC users end up using extension cords to charge their laptops in round.

This is extremly useful when cutting cards on the go, in round throwing evidence into a speech, or even sorting through your articles in the Extemp prep room. Does look that bad.

Here are a few suggestions.

I am not a fan of Antec and I have had more than a few blow out on me back in the day. I understand that a lot of people are Antec fans and that the Green series is popular because of the units good performance.

But 380watts just seems low. Regardless if it is within spec of your system. It's always good to have a little overhead for future expansion needs. Also a PSU working at 80% vs. 40% is putting a lot more strain on the unit.

Consider this PSU if it is within your budget.

For your input devices consider these two.

Keyboard - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Wired-Keyboard-200-Business/dp/B004LR879Y/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1346386012&sr=1-4

The keyboard is no thrills. Feel free to spend more if you desire. It is cheap and will likely feel cheap... but work.

That mouse seems like the cheapest "gaming" mouse on the UK Amazon site. Should do you well. Is leagues above the mouse in your quote above. Could always go with a G500, G700, Microsoft mouse etc. depending on your budget. Put more importance on the mouse over the keyboard. Don't go too cheap on the mouse!

Lastly, see if you can afford to bump up that 550 ti to a 560 ti. The 384 core version is a good buy at £155.98.

Came to reccomend this Logitech G400
Didnt realise the price they have gotten to, could've sworn i bought mine for a lot cheaper nearly 2 years ago

u/DrPubertybeard · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

Do you need the OS & optical drive too?

Anyway I went on the assumption you did. Here's what I did.

I think an i5 in this build would have to be at the expense of the GPU so instead I went for an Ivy Bridge i3.

The mouse, headphones and microphone would bring this upto ~£725. If you want a generic keyboard then his would go down to £700. I've gone for a separate headphones and the clip on mic as these are what I've seen recommended for budget options rather than cheap "gaming" headsets with both.

Here are the benchmarks for the 7770

You know, you can get a small-form OTG adapter and a Logitech M317 for under $20. It'd be a lot less irritating being wireless and tighter to the phone.

For under $30, he could go with a wireless handheld trackball.

u/Sergeant_Hamlet · 1 pointr/hoggit

FYI a Thumb mouse is one of these.

Useful in some situations.

u/ncohafmuta · 1 pointr/htpc

Maybe something like this

u/ConradBHart42 · 1 pointr/Trackballs

There are small, wireless handheld devices with a trackball integrated. They fit in the palm of your hand and are meant to be used in office presentations and the like.

This is one example though I have no experience with this class of device let alone the linked model so I can make no recommendations. Other than saying it sounds much more convenient than a desktop model for your circumstances.

edit: I see in another reply that you have considered these already, but I would add that if you aren't using one for more than 5-10 minutes while selecting your file/stream/video the ergonomics are not likely to be a huge factor.

u/mdbDad · 1 pointr/engineering

Try moving the receiver around to better locations. Also, if you are using rechargeable batteries, the signal is going to be weaker (rechargeable batteries are 1.2V, rather than 1.5V).

Maybe he could try this one (Amazon.com)

If he works well with the joystick on his chair, perhaps a wireless joystick attached to his chair would work. This one (Amazon.com) looks promising. You can also find some others (Amazon.com)

Do any of these look like they could work? If not, we can concentrate on your current mouse, but I think there's quite a few large hurdles in that effort.

something like this seems to me to be a better solution to your HID problem. requires one hand to operate, can easily be stashed in a pocket to free your other hand.

i remember seeing ones that use a 'joystick' rather than a ball, but i cant be bothered to dig and find them.

u/Piccio7 · 1 pointr/starcitizen

u/Sianmink · 1 pointr/Warframe

the Sandio 3d gaming mouse may be useful to him, it's got 3 analog sticks and plenty of buttons.

They're out of production as far as I know, though you can still find them on ebay.

The Space Mouse Pro might be worth a look too, but it is nothing near cheap.

u/SpiderFnJerusalem · 1 pointr/TheExpanse

I realise it's kind of nitpicky. But it sort of stood out to me.

I remember the joystick from when Fred Johnson and the mormon representative are talking on the transport gondola on Tycho appears to be a Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog along with the accompanying throttle unit. He also held it the wrong way around. ಠ_ಠ

Later there is the scene where two Belters are harassed by Martian authorities and the Belter captain decides to fling his asteroid cargo at them. The trottle he pushed to speed up was from a Saitek X-55. That one seemed especially cheap, because it wasn't even integrated into the desk, it just stood there. It also seemed a bit unrealistic that all he has to do to speed up a spaceship is push that throttle. (but again I'm nitpicking)

Later on Alex appears to use a 3d mouse to control the Rocinante. I actually liked this one (though they could have modified it a bit), it's the future, why would we still use old joystick-like control devices that were invented to change the angles of attack on airplane control surfaces.

There were more than this, but I can't really place them off the top of my head anymore. Overall it's definitely nitpicky criticism. But to me it seems more like a symptom of the low budget sets overall. Everything I see on the show seems somehow... cheap. Not just the electronics, but also the furniture, props and the architecture itself.

Thanks for the info, I'll be looking into those tablets. Is there a specific one you'd recommend? It seems there's a few different models available on Amazon, including a few non-Wacom brand 3D graphics tablets. I'm assuming Wacom is the cream of the crop brand though, right?

I hate to continue bombarding you with questions, but have you had any experience (positive or negative) with the 3Dconnecion SpaceMouse? It's got good reviews on Amazon, but simply wondering if you'd ever used one before. It seems like it'd be perfect for me simply because it'd get me as close as possible as being "hands on" without simply reaching into my clay and making something. Here's the one I'm looking at in particular:

http://www.amazon.com/3DX-700040-3Dconnexion-SpaceMouse-Pro-3D-Mouse/dp/B006GPZ17K

As for the Nvidia card, that won't be an issue with me. I have a really beefy gaming / editing PC I built a year back that has a GTX 980 Ti in it. So hardware wise I should be set!

u/JesseShowedUp · 1 pointr/tablets

I have both the Dell case and one of these

The case from Amazon is great for the money but I like the Dell case best because when you fold it under the back and basically use the tablet upside down, the viewing angle is just right. The Fintie one is cheap and it feels like it but the Dell case is certainly over priced, problem is that it works best for me so far.

If you want a great keyboard, look at the Microsoft Wedge, it's small but useable and the cover can be used as a stand for any tablet.

I just carry mine in a laptop sleeve in my Filson most days and it has held up well. I do recommend a good bluetooth mouse. The trackpad on the keyboard has gotten better, but it can still be infuriating at times. I have one of these that stays in my briefcase. Its small cheap and easy. I might upgrade to one that works on glass eventually though. A Bluetooth keyboard may be worth it to you as well depending on how much you plan on typing.

Seconding the vertical mouse. I got this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-Vertical-Ergonomic-Optical-VerticalMouse-x/dp/B009D9CZ5C

Upside is that the pain in my wrist is gone.

Downside is that the middle mouse wheel click is quite firm, so unlike a normal mouse, when you click (or double-click) it can move the mouse, causing a miss-click. Still worth getting used to it for the reduced pain.

u/posts_never · 1 pointr/Ergonomics

I'm 25 -- a programmer by day and a gamer by night. I developed really severe tendonitis 2 years ago. Imagine a line of fire from the top of your hands all to the way up your arms and over your shoulder...yeah, that was me. It started with pain on the top of my hands and crept up due to misunderstanding the causal mechanisms. Don't be me.

  • Absolutely get an ergonomic gaming mouse. This is the one you want. I love it, it's my favorite mouse I've ever gamed with, and I've gone through quite a few, and the others weren't even ergonomic.
  • For work, I like this mouse. It's not completely upright but it's in-between upright and horizontal. It also comes paired with a keyboard sometimes, which I also recommend.
  • Start doing yoga. I know you're 18 and not feeling pain at the moment, and yoga is probably something you regard as kinda goofy and maybe a little feminine and overall not interesting to you, but trust me, it's the fucking bomb. I used to go to a chiropractor for my pain and one day we were talking and she mentioned that if everybody did yoga she wouldn't have a job...so I started doing yoga the next week and now I don't need a chiropractor anymore. Yep. It has the added bonus of making you feel amazing afterwards, too.
  • Get your monitor up higher. If you have a 27", aim for your eyes at 1/3 of the way down from the top. With a 24" it's ok to be closer to the top of the monitor.
  • You probably don't have money yet, but when you eventually do get money, invest in this. This is just the base -- you can buy your own tabletop and put it on top so it doesn't feel like you have a geeky sit/stand desk at home. While it's true you can get away with sitting in its entirety if you take long frequent breaks and reset your spine and hips, I found that just having the option to stand was a more efficient way to solve the problem, just in terms of time spent at computer. For work, you can swap it up on an as-needed basis. For gaming, you can do things like sit during your 45 minute LoL game (or whatever you play) and pop it up to standing between games or while in queue. This also encourages you to walk around your room, etc.
  • So far I've mostly thrown solutions at you, and solutions are good, but what's even better is understanding the problem. Nobody has the same body as you, and nobody lives in it as much as you. Consult doctors/specialists to build your knowledge base, but understand they won't solve your problems for you. Think of the body as a physical system like any other and reason about it. Realize that everything is connected, and that when one part of the body hurts, it's probably because another part of the body isn't doing its job, or that you're setting that part of the body up to fail by not giving it everything it needs to succeed. One pretty common problem (and my problem) is that your shoulders and head will pull forward over time, and this causes curvature in the thoracic spine which compresses nerves that go down your arms, causing pain in the hands. That's just one example of how weird and interconnected this stuff is. I was stupid and didn't know this, so I kept trying to ice my hands or do other things to them, when the pain started appearing there. Don't be me, look at the big picture.
  • Last thing. Stretches can be useful too, and these are the kinds of things you can actually start doing pre-injury. There are two stretches I find useful. First, this stuff from Day 9 is good for opening your forearms. This doesn't get at posture, but it's good for gaming. For posture, you want this. In particular the hands up the wall stretch where you contract and pull your elbows down to level is the money stretch, though the others are definitely useful, too.

That's a good idea. I think it stands to reason that one will have to put their finger back down after the click anyway, right? I can find some mice that work like that. I noticed when I started using a state-funded Chromebook in high school that it was much easier to click things than I was used to, since I was using a modern trackpad. All you have to do with newer trackpads to click is gently tap, no *pressing* of any sort. The mouse I linked and other "touch mice" are basically just trackpads that aren't pad-shaped.

On the other hand, I wonder if your idea could be adapted into a mouse with two regions that are used for left-clicking. So your finger is resting, but then you gently move it up or to the side to the "secondary click position". Now that your index finger is resting on the secondary zone, the left-click is complete. These would be really close together to be useful. Click-and-drag would not be possible without an additional full "click" mechanism. But that's ok, a full press on the mouse button occasionally beats doing it for every click. Interesting stuff!

BYO OS (ex. Win10, just install it from a USB stick, which you can setup from Microsoft), RAM (up to 32 gigs), and HDD (either an M.2 NVMe or a 2.5" SSD/HDD, or both). I have one in my living room right now & it's great, very compact & quiet. They do make a beefier model with a better GPU (EN1080K) & faster CPU (i7 instead of an i5), but that starts at $1900 barebones (it is also liquid-cooled from the factory). If you really want an optical drive, they have a USB slim Bluray drive (CD/DVD/Bluray) for $89 here:

Here are some Logitech options around your budget:

If you need the mouse to track on surfaces like glass or reflective surfaces you should go for the MX anywhere 2, otherwise the M720 should work on most fabric/wood etc pretty well.

No personal exp but when I was considering this I came across the Logitech M515 and reviews said many people use it on the couch.

Pretty good deal for a great wireless mouse. Kind of like a smaller MX Master: it's really comfortable, sensor is fantastic (you can use it on any surface, mousepad not required), wireless works flawlessly. This is an all time low for the mouse: it normally retails for around $80-85.

Also at Amazon for the same price, but is "temporarily out of stock".

u/catfield · 1 pointr/Competitiveoverwatch

I use this cheap one off of amazon - https://www.amazon.com/Generic-Mouse-Bungee-Management-Holder/dp/B01ASXL0PW/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1519518395&sr=8-7&keywords=mouse+bungee

I had to tape it to my desk to keep it from moving but other than that it works great, I really prefer it to no bungee at all, makes a wired mouse feel slightly more like a wireless

u/zakabog · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I have this bungee which works nicely with the braided cable on my Logitech G Pro. It keeps the mouse cable exactly where I want it (out of the way of my hand, but still up on my desk.) If you don't have a braided cable it will be annoying as the cable might just slide right through the bungee rather than being held snugly.

u/S13pointFIVE · 1 pointr/buildapc

Some people swear that his is the best one (note: This is the one I use.) [Zowie Camade] (https://smile.amazon.com/ZOWIE-BENQ-CAMADE-Management-Sporting/dp/B01CKP4030?sa-no-redirect=1)

Here is a cheaper [knockoff] (https://smile.amazon.com/Mouse-Bungee-Mouse-Management-Device-Sporting/dp/B071YYV73Y/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_147_lp_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=075ZRYSJ9TTS3D9QBE3G)

I have a couple friends that use these cheap [bungees] (https://smile.amazon.com/Generic-Mouse-Bungee-Management-Holder/dp/B01ASXL0PW/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_147_lp_t_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=JAKBRC58Z5C6P275SB33)

Personally if I did it over again, I would just go with one of the cheap bungees. A mouse bungee is a mouse bungee imo. The more expensive ones like the Camade and its knockoff do the same thing as the $8 bungee I posted. Hell I have a buddy that tapes his mouse cord to his monitor and it serves the same function.

u/ItsStormy · 1 pointr/MouseReview

As a Zowie fan boy one thing I admit is their Mouse Bungee is too expensive, in fact I believe Mouse Bungees in general are over priced. However this is one that's cheap and very reliable. All types of cable sizes fit in it. Here is the link, I own two of these and they are great.
https://www.amazon.com/Generic-Mouse-Bungee-Management-Holder/dp/B01ASXL0PW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1504415487&sr=8-3&keywords=mouse+bungee

Same here! I thought it would mean thier headsets are good too but I've had nothing but problems with them. I ended up having to keep the G933 always plugged in, so I got a pack of these that work wonders. Also have heard good things about these with headsets.

I got a 8 dollar mouse bungee from Amazon that does the trick. The cords from my Logitech mice fit perfectly in it.

I used to have issues with my mouse cables as well until I bought a proper mouse bungee. This one to be exact. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CKP4030/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_VCldAb97F5XBR

u/olbaze · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

>I bought it for 100USD, but It's around 60usd now which is about 53€.

Cheapest I could get it would be 80€, which would be very much into the premium price range for mice. Not unreasonable, but still premium. For future reference, prices in EU are typically about 20% higher than the US due to VAT.

>I don't think you should cheap out on something you use every day if you value comfort.

I'm not saying that. I've spent a fair amount of money over the years buying different mice for different reasons, looking for a "perfect" mouse. In fact, I think that the two most important factors when considering a mouse are comfort and the use case. No point in having the best mouse in the world if it gives you cramps, but also no point in having a comfortable as heck mouse if it means you have to resort to weird tricks because the mouse lacks features.

>Also I don't want to hammer a nail into my nice desk ;)

Personally, I use a velcro cable tie on all of my mice so that there is no excess. I also plug my mice into the USB hub on my monitor, so there's very little cable drag. If I was bothered by what little is left, I would opt for a mouse bungee in a heart beat. Paying 20-30€ for a mouse bungee and getting to use it with any mouse I want is a far better option for my at home use case than paying 100€+ for an entirely new mouse.

u/Skellingtonisscare · 1 pointr/csgo

I get what you mean, but I still think there is many ways to practice aim, if your problem is shooting people's heads at mid/long range you should maybe try practicing your tracking.
Btw this guy that shows his own aim training, he is playing in ESEA Main with AimHigh

If your wireless mouse fucks up sometimes, you can get a mouse with a wire but get a mouse bungee

I am LE currently and I believe you can always improve aim to a point where 1 taps are reasonably easy. Its not about having the most incredible aim (which does help win but you can win without amazing aim), its about good decisions.

u/Rivalistic · 1 pointr/razer

I have a Zowie Bungee for the cable problem, I suggest you get one.

My roomate has the G502, with all the weights in it, and this mouse is slightly less weight than that.

u/thomastheg0d · 1 pointr/MouseReview

Mouse bungee's are amazing, they work perfectly for me and I play much better with it since it reduces the cable drag.

Zowie camade is probably one of the most popular mouse bungee's. I personally use it and the build quality is pretty good,Razer bungee and Hotline games bungee are some other popular ones.

Pretty sure they all work the same.

Your mouse, from what you described, sounds like a wireless mouse with a USB wireless receiver, and typically it's only going to stay that way unless you knew you were buying a BT mouse

I always recommend the current Logitech MX line as their mice are great and has BT. Link to Amazon for the Anywhere MX 2S

It basically looks like a cross between an Elecom Deft and a Logitech M570 or even Logitech MX Ergo

u/gcalpo · 1 pointr/Trackballs

Just bought the Ergo MX for $65 + tax from BestBuy.com after pricematch to Amazon.

A little miffed about pointer acceleration being missing from the new "Logitech Options" driver (no more SetPoint like the M570). But found a workaround: turn on "Enhance pointer precision" in the old school mouse control panel.

Another nice thing about Best Buy's model (not Amazon's) is that it's the Ergo Plus which comes with a metal base to increase the angle, possibly making it more comfortable depending on your preferences. Most of BB's CSRs don't seem to notice when approving the pricematch ;)

I don't think I would have paid the $100 MSRP on this thing after buying so many M570's for $20-$25, but for ~$70, the extra comfort and heft (and side scrolling!) is worth it to me, and so far I'm satisfied w/ the upgrade.

u/Greenbird60 · 1 pointr/pcgaming

A track ball mouse has really helped me. They aren't the best for fast paced games. In those cases I switch off with my normal mouse. I used this one for several years M570

But more recently switched to the MX Ergo

WD 10TB Elements 220eu 213 from amazon.de
Just bought this 3 days ago also for 220., all of them came with EMAZ Drives. Need the enclosures for my other drives which are naked right now >.>

otherwise i would just have bought the WD MyBook's for 20 less.
WD MyBook 10TB 200€ From Amazon.de was not so long ago for 175. which is the lowest GB/eur ever?

But Mybooks has hardwareencryption.. which makes it impossible to read it on desktop if you are swapping around without formatting the drive..

Edit:
Amazon.de has a nice offer..

Seagate external 8TB for 135€

WD Elements 8TB for 155

WD MyBook 8TB for 161

WD MyBook DUO 20TB for 463 (amazon.fr) Guranteerd REDS! no whities

u/IInvocation · 1 pointr/DataHoarder

Hi,

first for the "crazy 8 TB rigs" - most Hoarders buy disks like https://www.amazon.de/wdbwlg0080hbk-eesn-Elements-Desktop-3-0-Festplatte-Schwarz/dp/B07FNK6QMT/ref=sr_1_1?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&keywords=wd+elements+8tb&qid=1567671167&s=gateway&sr=8-1 , because these (those with 8TB and more) should be as reliable as WD Reds - but they're much cheaper. (You only have to move them out of the enclosure - this is called "shucking") - you really should check the price of these where you live.

Also - i've found the following article:
https://www.verkkokauppa.com/fi/product/53689/hndfq/WD-My-Book-8-Tt-ulkoinen-kovalevy?list=OZCYf7ha6uyhaYZEZXqEwOCsOthAeWO9ZE92OOQQsg (This doesnt really sound that expensive for me - there's probably even better deals... Also - german amazon seems to ship to finland so...\^\^)

Only thing to note is:
You'll sooner or later run into something like the 3,3v bug where a shucked drive isnt recognized by the computer.
There's several solutions like:

  1. Taping the 3,3v pin (i hate this method - every time u unplug - you'll probably have to reapply the tape)
  2. Use Molex-to-Sata Adapter (this removes 3,3v) (risky with cheap adapters, see "molex to sata - lose all your data"
  3. Use a sata-power-splitter without 3,3v (which is what i do by now), see for example:
https://www.amazon.de/deleyCON-S-ATA-Strom-adapter-Y-Adapter-SATA-Stromkabel/dp/B01F24PMV0/ref=sr_1_3?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&keywords=sata+power+splitter&qid=1567671837&s=gateway&sr=8-3 (It's missing the orange cable - so it doesnt have 3,3v which is good for "our" use case)

As for ZFS - i can only recommend - i'm using mirrored vdev's myself - and i've already seen it repair 256KB that I'd never know to be damaged if i had not used ZFS. (OK - it's nothing - but still i want my data they way it was when i put it there...) Can't say much about compression or deduplication - since my files wouldnt benefit from this - so i never even bothered trying.

Ok, you should try wireless, it's amazing. Here is a list of my top pics.

GPRO Wireless: Literally the best gaming mouse I've ever used, I have nothing bad to say about it. It is perfect and should be cherished.

G502 Lightspeed: Most similar on this list to the mamba in terms of size and weight, has a ton of buttons. There is a G502 hero which is a wired version and is currently the best selling mouse on the market. Really good.

G305: Smaller than its big brother the GPRO Wireless, but still hugely popular and well respected, No rechargeable battery in the box however, it used a AA battery. Battery life is like 200+ hours tho.

Mamba wireless: If you really like your mamba, here is a good option for wireless. I havent used it but it seems pretty popular for razer fans.

almost all these mice have wired version that are identical/lighter exceptt the GPRO wireless. If you don't want to spend so much you could look into those. Happy clicking!

Logitech G Pro Wireless
The best gaming mouse.Period. A little over budget, I know but worth every single dollar. This mouse will last you for 5 years if maintained properly.

PS: If you use Honey you might get a discount.

Edit: Forgot to add something under your budget so.... Here you go, Razer Viper

Use the remaining budget for a mouse bungee.

Don't listen to this advice..no insane gamer will use a fucking 12 button MMO mouse...actually the dumbest thing i've heard in a while. Don't start with 1400 dpi either...try 800 or 400. Most pros and good players play 400 or 800. Plus those mice are biggger...you want something that feels good on ur hand. G Pro , Finalmouse , just a few examples. You have a keyboard for binds....you don't need a mouse for that.

u/lanceh90 · 1 pointr/LogitechG

The Logitech G Pro Wired is, well, wired. It is based off the same design as the G305, which is the wireless version.

The Logitech G Pro also comes with the latest HERO sensor of 16k DPI. This model is called theLogitech G Pro HERO.

The Logitech G Pro Wireless is a special esports gaming mouse that is wireless and uses the same HERO sensor. However, it has a completely different shape.

TL;DR: It is wired.

Logitech G305

Logitech GPro Wireless

I've owned both of these and they are both VERY good mice. Logitech G305 is smaller, requires a AA battery, and is significantly cheaper. GPro Wireless (my current mouse) is larger, rechargeable, but is more expensive.

I've hit GM using both of them. I play Rein, Widow, Ana, Orisa, a wide variety of heroes, and haven't noticed any input lag. I would highly suggest the G305 since it's a lot cheaper but still gives you the same performance as the GPro Wireless.

The battery life for the GPro Wireless is REALLY long, and the charge time is very low. I've gone 2 weeks, playing every day for a few hours, without recharging it because I just simply forgot. Plugged it in, took a shower, came back out and it was almost fully charged.

I was in this same dilemma until the reviews came out.

That 4.something score at least assures you that RMA hell is unlikely, that issue with the buttons touching is huge, I really wouldn't want to buy that with or without a revision honestly, I don't really like that design choice, and the G305 is essentially the same mouse but cheaper, you can even get down to almost the same weight using lithium batteries, and also note that the G305 is extremely efficient, you may think you don't care but this is quality of life, it can go on for months, you could offer me a powerplay mat for free that I wouldn't want it because it just doesn't matter on this mouse.

And I found that the shape is indeed a bit too small and it does fatigue me a tiny bit, but to me it is very tolerable, this shape is actually mostly fine to me since I have a fingertip grip, and I am already used to gripping anything really, this just isn't the most comfortable mouse I have ever used, but I didn't rank comfort as a priority when I bought it, I just wanted a reliable light mouse.

Iv always hated that analogy.
A better guitar wont make you play guiatar better, it might sound better but it doesnt have any impact on how you play. However better running shoes, better tennis rackets better footballs will help you in the long run as playing with shoddy equiptment builds bad habits.

Playing with some old football will hurt you and limit your potential, and its even worse with mice.

Bad generic mice have arrays of issues regarding top mouse register speed, locking up, non liniar acceleration, angle snapping, which create bad habits for players and will become a problem at higher levels of play.

Im not saying that a better mouse makes you a better player, you probably can get to masters using anything, but you might as well get some solid hardware if you want to be competitive, to stop yourself forming bad habits and have a solid ground to build yourself on. Its like, sure you could use a track pad to play sc2, but you are limit ting yourself in the long run. You are placing unnecessary handicaps on yourself.

You dont need anything over £30 and you probably dont really need a mechanical or expensive keyboard, in my opinion the mouse is where serious issues are with cheap hardware. A g400 is in my opinion the best mouse on the market, and its pretty cheap

u/terminalzero · 0 pointsr/Surface
u/forsayken · 0 pointsr/FortniteCompetitive

It's a cylinder of hard foam. You lay on it and roll around. If it doesn't help, it feels amazing on your upper back; especially if you sit all day.

If you're already exercising, I would go see a professional. They can better recommend exercises and stretches specific to your needs.

This is the mouse I use by the way:

https://www.amazon.ca/Anker-Ergonomic-Optical-Vertical-Buttons/dp/B009D9CZ5C/ref=sr_1_2

It looks stupid but it cleared up my problems instantly and it tracks well enough that I can keep up in this game and other shooters and RTS games just fine. The only problem is that the thumb buttons are difficult to press without interrupting your regular grip so I use one only for placing a marker/pinging only. I believe Logitech makes a better mouse that has a similar shape to this.

u/HotProgrammer · -4 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

Hey, yeah, thanks for asking. A lot of people on this sub don't know anything about mice apparently (due to my downvotes).

  • This mouse fucking weighs 121 grams (which is crazy fucking heavy)
  • You probably want a mouse in the range of 60-90 if you actually want to play competitive shooters (or if you don't want your hand to hurt)
  • The mouse design is a relatively safe shape, you can definitely find mice on the market that will fit your hand better.
  • If you are actually looking for a good competitive fps mouse that is wireless, buy the Logitech G Pro Wireless for the same price. It fucking weighs 81.9 grams compared to this fucking metal tank.
  • Otherwise, if your in the market for a casual browsing wireless mouse, go with the G903 lightspeed.

Anyways, there are plenty of mice on the market now that have top tier sensors with amazing shapes and low weight... here's a few...

  • Zowie FK

  • G305

  • XM1

  • Razer Viper

  • G-Wolves Skoll
