[This is the best for your needs I could find] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MJCF5N4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Tl9vDbQZHNPH6)

Seems like a pretty awful price for a 35" 100hz VA UWQHD panel, unless there's something I'm missing.

For comparison, the Viotek GN34CB 34" 100hz VA UWQHD monitor sells for $399.99 new.

Also, the comparable MSI 34" 100hz VA monitor is selling for $439 new right now as well.

Basically the only benefit to this monitor is "HDR", but it only has a peak brightness of 300 nits which is pretty subpar as far as HDR goes.

Dell monitors are great, their Ultrasharp IPS range is nice just avoid their new 4k ones as they're pretty bad.

There's this one which is slightly over at $615 but it has 2560 x 1440 resolution.

http://www.amazon.com/Dell-U2713HM-IPS-LED-CVN85-27-Inch-LED-lit/dp/B009H0XQQY/

Or with a 1920 x 1080 resolution theres this one for half the price:

Go for a XFX, MSI, or Sapphire rx 480 8GB
like this - 239 Euro
http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/8GB-MSI-Radeon-RX-480-Gaming-X-Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail-_1115515.html
the gigabyte card isn't very good.

Look for a better make case (Zalam re terrible) - see corsair
i.e this is an m-atx case
http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/Corsair-Carbide-Series-88R-mit-Sichtfenster-Mini-Tower-ohne-Netzteil-sch_1014923.html

I would Aslo get a SSD Or A M.2 SSD or 120GB or 250GB as you OS Drive or you machine won't be as fast as you'll want it to be. HDD Are okay but thats really for data.

The motherboard you listed could be improved and save money i.e. this m-atx size baord is 91 euro
http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/MSI-B250M-MORTAR-Intel-B250-So-1151-Dual-Channel-DDR-mATX-Retail_1136535.html

Your cpu is an i5 but is rated a 3ghz - is that high enough - see if you can find reviews on it and its performance.

One last important point if you getting a monitor, and you are getting a rx480, then buy a freesync monitor. the cheapest 24" one I can find in amazon de is this 159 euro
https://www.amazon.de/AOC-G2460VQ6-Monitor-DisplayPort-Reaktionszeit/dp/B015510R4M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486471603&sr=8-1&keywords=freesync+24%22

Now think how much have you saved in getting a freesync monitor instead of a g-sync monitor!

If you can afford it get 16GB ram or at least a 1 * 8gb stick and then you can get another later!

For $212 or $192 after rebate the Asus PB238Q is the same panel but comes with many bells and whistles.

  • 4-Way adjustable stand (height, tilt, rotate & pivot)
  • 4-port USB 2.0 hub
  • All 4 input types (DVI, HDMI, DP & VGA)
  • Speakers
  • 3-Year warranty with to-and-from shipping covered by ASUS

I've owned 2 that I absolutely love, but have been phasing them out with the 1920x1200 model, the PA248Q over the last few years.
u/D00MK0PF · 9 pointsr/buildapcsales

also on sale at Amazon.

Although be warned that it states: Usually ships within 1 to 2 months.

u/waterhill · 7 pointsr/simracing

I would recommend IPS monitors since viewing angle will be better.

Dell 27" 1080p ($255 each)
http://www.amazon.com/Dell-927M9-IPS-LED-27-Inch-LED-lit-Monitor/dp/B009H0XQPA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410002420&sr=8-1&keywords=dell+ips+27%22
(Not the thinnest bezel, but it is ok)

I have 3 Dell U2713HM (1440p) and love them. They are 2x as expensive, but much higher resolution.

Here's the review of the case I released a couple of days ago

u/divijkm · 6 pointsr/IndianGaming

what is your gpu?

If it is amd, then get THIS (27", 3ms response time, va) or THIS (24", 1ms response time, tn) I would go for the 1st since size and display type are more important than response time, for low base response times. Both have free-sync

If you have nvidia......Too bad :(

u/guitarstix · 6 pointsr/Monitors

Is 1080p okay?

I have this LG 24GM79G-B 24-Inch Gaming Monitor... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XFGTGC4?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

144hz refresh and freesync also I believe it's on sale right now.

u/YamiKishi · 6 pointsr/IndianGaming

You didn't mention a resolution or budget. I'm going to assume you're looking for a 1080p screen.

This here is a really good monitor: https://www.amazon.in/LG-24GM79G-B-Reduction-FreeSyncTM-Stabilizer/dp/B06XFGTGC4
It is a TN though, so color accuracy and viewing angles aren't great. But it is still a great panel.

Here's another TN panel: https://www.primeabgb.com/online-price-reviews-india/viewsonic-24-xg2402-gaming-tn-monitor/
Supposedly better color accuracy for a lower contrast ratio.

A VA panel: https://www.amazon.in/Samsung-23-5-Curved-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01M1DEEYP
This has better color accuracy, but CFG70 is believed to have a purple ghosting issue, which is supposedly fixed in CFG73. Although, I haven't seen this model in any of the Indian e-commerce sites.
Also, this has a small curve so might not be something you want.

This could also be another option, the design might be better: https://www.vedantcomputers.com/lenovo-legion-y25f-10-24.5-inch-fhd-5ms-response-time
A few people have reported frame skipping issue with this model. So might want to look into that.

u/ThatBigDanishDude · 6 pointsr/Monitors

I´m personally a big fan of VA panels. yeah they´re not as accurate a lot of the time. but unless you´re doing colour-sensitive work. you´re not gonna care once you see that sweet sweet contrast ratio VA has to offer.

Here´s my picks
Lower end. but very good
Lower end. but still awesome
Factory calibrated hdr goodness

Would you take my monitor? I have an Asus pb238q i believe. Im not at home so i cant check. I want to sell it because i want to upgrade. Nothing is wrong with it at all. And hopefully shipping isn't expensive if you're in the states.its 1980x1020

And has really cool features and really color accurate. Here's the amazon link:

I'm basically in the same boat as you.

Closest I've found in my searches seems to be the HP Omen 32".

It has everything in your list except for G-Sync, decent price.

Unfortunately I can't seem to find any decent reviews... I'm waiting to see if anything else in the market comes along or the prices drop more.

I agree with iampixeL3D, that you should preferably find a second monitor from Dell to make sure that colors, etc. are the same across all of your monitors.

Beyond looking for another Dell, I would recommend the Acer V277U. It's 1440p, 75hz. I just bought three of them and have them set up with two in landscape and one in portrait. I got them for $210 each on sale, but their not too much more right now (links below).

After extensive research yesterday I found that this is the best 24"144hz monitor. LG Ultragear 24GL600F-B 24 Inch Full HD Gaming Monitor with Radeon FreeSync Technology, 144Hz Refresh Rate, 1ms Response Time (2019) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NHSJ1RF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ETElDbHZ8JK57 it as everything anyone looking for this type of monitor would want plus it's been reviewed by Hardware Unboxed as working perfectly with G-sync and it has a crosshair overlay. I own the 240hz version 27" and ran into this when researching the AOC and Viewsonic and Dell monitor that went on sale yesterday.

u/choko16 · 3 pointsr/buildapcsales

My bet is on this one, bought it back in june and have no regrets (it was at $170 back then)

getting rid of the cpu cooler(already suggested I know) and getting an ssd will be a great benefit if you can afford it later although good ssd's at 45 bucks are small so i'd stay with the hdd for now. for a monitor in that price range i'd recommend the Lg ultragear or the Viotek gn24cb

Although;
US price on Amazon: $255.99.

I just bought 2 27" Dell IPS monitors for $300 a piece with free shipping.

Edit: Scratch that I see you were talking about the 2560 x 1440 display, which makes sense.

u/rockydbull · 3 pointsr/hardwareswap

Price is way too high for a 20inch sub1080p monitor. LED adds a little value but not very much.

Example, this is 2 inches bigger with 1080p and LED and costs 5 bucks less shipped

u/TheUbuyo · 3 pointsr/smashbros

Honestly, you're not gonna find a low lag monitor at that size. If you're really wanting the lowest amount of lag as possible, I'd recommend the BenQ RL2460HT. It's what I use myself and probably one of the best monitors you'll find for fighting games, and gaming in general. The built in speakers are kinda shitty on it though, so I'd get some external speakers for it as well, if you decide to get it.

Yes, there is my friend! Both Pixio and Viotek recently came out with monitors with these exact specifications. The only difference is the display is MVA vs IPA.

Pixio PX347c Prime 34 inch Curved Ultra Wide QHD (3440 x 1440) Adaptive Sync 100hz Widescreen Display Professional Gaming Monitor Samsung PVA 1440p

[VIOTEK GN34C 34" Curved Widescreen PC Gaming Monitor - WQHD 3440 x 1440p 100Hz Refresh Rate Freesync] (https://www.amazon.com/VIOTEK-GN34C-Curved-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B074G5G8FT/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1510749963&sr=1-1&keywords=viotek+34-inch+1440p+curved+100hz+gaming+monitor)

I purchased the Pixio recently, should be delivered by Friday, I will let you know how it looks. I did a lot of research on these and basically these are Korean models that use a PVA display, which are cheaper and a nice middle ground between TN and IPS. The actual displays are manufactured by Samsung so it's not like you are getting some unknown hardware.

The biggest downsides to either of these? No vesa brackets. The price point is what drew me in, as it's nearly half the price of similar displays with g-sync.

u/Pun_In_Ten_Did · 3 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

They aren't even that expensive when you compare it to two high quality monitors. This isn't even the cheapest one I found and it seems they all come with displayport which is a relatively large markup on smaller monitors. If you don't care about portability, this is the way to go.

Edit: Turns out these monitors suffer from low hertz. The MX299Q I posted actually goes to about 60 which isn't that bad but if you are running higher, it'll be pricier of course.

Edit: Here's linus on these 21:9 displays

u/KGTheBeast11 · 2 pointsr/RocketLeague

Got mine about 5 months ago and I love it. If I remember correctly, I turned v-sync off when I got my monitor and there was an obvious difference at first. I'm not sure if it was my screen tearing or not but it took MAYBE a day (if not less) of playing to get used to it. Once you play with it for awhile, you'll never want to turn it back on (with a monitor at least, never played with it off with my TV) I also noticed there was virtually no input lag compared to my TV and that helped a lot with my response time and everything. If you're thinking about switching I highly recommend it.

u/Zarrex · 2 pointsr/GlobalOffensive

I would go with these two:

  • ASUS VE248Q as your secondary monitor

  • ASUS VG248QE as your main monitor.

They look almost identical, but the VG248QE has 144hz refresh rate which is great.
u/Panayotes · 2 pointsr/buildapcforme

I would go with something like this.

As for monitors, I personally prefer IPS panels to TN panels. The colors are much more vibrant and the viewing angles are better. Here is a nice one.

Oh yeah. It's an ASUS PB Series PB238Q 23-Inch LED monitor. I had an Asus VG248QE gaming monitor before and actually didn't like it. Mainly the colors and quality. Bought this monitor and LOVE it. Very basic and simple. Fully adjustable as well. Only 60Hz and no audio in, but minor complaints for a great monitor.

Here's the video it's from he mentions his 27 inch imac, so that's what the center monitor is. He also mentions the monitors either side are Dell 2740L monitors. Hope this helps.

u/Phoenixx45 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Dell S2740L. It is indeed a glass panel. It looks great with the windows closed and no minimal lighting, but any amount of sunlight will cause an obnoxious glare/reflection. The LED back lights help tremendously.

u/Thesk1llerz · 2 pointsr/gamingpc

Im in the same boat as you this is what I had in mind,

I was thinking About having a 1440p monitor in the middle and then two 1080p monitors on the side and then just switch the resolution of the 1440p monitor when I want to play at 5760x1080. I have been trying to find a setup of for this but I have had some difficulties. First, you want to keep bezels at a minimum 1440p monitors have large bezels. (The smallest I could find was a dell one)

The second problem is that in an ideal 5760x1080p setup you want all monitors to be similar when regarding screen size and the aesthetics of the monitor. This means your going to have 1080p panels at 27" and it also means that one is going to have to sit about 3 - 4ft away from the 1080 monitors (I got this figure through personal testing using a 32" 1080p monitor)

The last problem is that running a panel at its non native resolution will lower the image quality. I have yet to see any tests or pictures of 1440p panels running at 1080p.

Just my 2 Cents

On a side note,

What system do you plan on driving this with? I'm also trying to build a system from the ground up and I haven't been able find something that I deem good enough for my budget.

Edit
I forgot to add which 27" panels I would use, Dell S2740L

Oh. Sorry mate. It's really not feasible to get a decent gaming rig for less, so this is gonna be a bit over budget. For the monitor, I'd go with this one: http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-GW2255-21-5-Inch-LED-lit-Monitor/dp/B00AX9Z6MU

This is a little bit over your specified budget, but I do know that the gaming monitors used for EVO and Capcom Cup set-ups was the BenQ RL2460HT if that interests you. -- it doesn't have an IPS panel though. The two options you have listed are pretty solid too. Good luck choosing!

I need to play some IB with you after we win the clan war this weekend. I might try and just grind out IB rank 5 on Monday when the XP is insane.

I bought this monitor back in September when Destiny came out and absolutely love it, it's absolutely great for FPS. Scroll down and read about all the bells and whistles it has, but I remember just plugging it in and it was already good to go.

u/emdc · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I bought a BenQ RL2460HT about six months ago and I absolutely love it. I bought this solely for gaming. I only game at 1080p (mostly console), and response time was crucial. It has 2 hdmi ports which is really nice. It also adjusts up and down to a proper viewing height as well as turns sideways (not entirely sure why). Right now I use it as a second screen for my 27" iMac and then have my console hooked up to the other port. Picture is awesome in my opinion, extremely crisp with <1ms response time. I have a small desk and anything larger than 24" (for gaming when I have to see all corners of the screen) would be too big for me personally. I can also vouch for the RL2455HM, I have used that one for a week while visiting a friend and the picture was just as good as mine.

I can't say enough good things about this monitor. However if you wanted a bigger size, 144z, 1440p, etc. This is not the monitor for you. But for $230 on Amazon right now, I highly recommend it.

Hmm, thanks for those recommendations. Those are definitely beautiful monitors, but I'm not quite sure I'm ready to spend that much on a monitor yet. Gsync doesn't matter much to me as I've never really had any sort of tearing before. I'm thinking of something like this. Do you know any off the top of your head that are in that price range with those sorts of specs? There are plenty but I'm not sure if there are some regarded as the best. Maybe this or this.

27" AOC, $290, has the 144hz, no IPS no g-sync or free sync

24" AOC, $210 Has free sync, no IPS, not 27 inches

Both have display ports, which are necessary if you're trying to actually utilize 144hz.

Disclaimer I am from the US so I do not know about pricing for Italy.

  • Cases: The MicroATX will be much smaller and limit you a ton on the graphics card and motherboard choices. For a desktop i would go with an ATX either in the Mid or Full sized towers
  • Wireless: I would invest the time running an Ethernet, because the reliability will be much better and your connection will be faster. Also I do not know anything about which adapters would be good if that is not possible.
  • i5, the i7 is better for multi threading but most games do not utilize it. i7 are better for workhorses (CAD, Rendering, ect.)
  • Monitor the ASUS is nice, but if you prefer a Matte bezel then the AOC is what i use

I have the AOC 144HZ https://www.amazon.com/AOC-G2770PQU-Ultimate-Performance-Professional/dp/B00L8LTB3W

It's not too bad for a 1080p screen. I bought a Spyder 5 express to run the color calibration and it helps a lot with the accuracy.

u/Kronos_Selai · 2 pointsr/buildapc

It's definitely an added bonus if your card cant hit the refresh rates consistently. In layman's speak, it smooths things out when the card can't hit 60hz or 144hz. Many models now exist for gsync and freesync options, but freesync tends to be a bit more expensive compared to standard, whereas gsync is in the upper echelon of prices. You can find a 1080p 144hz freesync no problem. Apparently this one is really good. https://www.amazon.com/Nixeus-1920x1080-Adaptive-Sync-Widescreen-NX-VUE24A/dp/B0131PBN6U

I was looking for the same thing but I came across the realization that integrated speakers are pretty crap. You would be better off grabbing some cheap Logitech speakers and connecting them via Audio out.

Question for you, do you have a MacBook dock? How are you connecting?

For Xbox and other console gaming, they mostly output 60Hz so you don’t anything higher than 60.

Here is a few that I found that have speakers but they lacked in USB ports which I would rather have. That way I can just connect directly to my MacBook with one connection and not need to worry about additional cables.

BenQ Monitors are simply beautiful, they have everything you’re looking for but no USB’s, not sure if you need USB ports.

I've been looking at this MSI optix MAG341CQ)

u/Mooshufausa · 2 pointsr/ultrawidemasterrace

Based on some things I've found around the internet, I know that getting a full 3440x1440 at 144hz is hard even for a 1080ti (not personally experienced, but just what I've read), and one of the comments mentions that as well. If you're worried about price too, there are cheaper ultrawides with the specs like this one:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G5FCR6X/?coliid=I2GT05OFOIDA9F&colid=1BOMF6FJ4A6K6&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

which I've had my eyeball on. I haven't used it personally, but I saw it in a couple of youtube videos that did benchmarks on ultrawide monitors, and it looked great to me.

If I were you I'd go look at how some of the games you play most frequent/games you want to play look in ultrawide, and figure out if the higher refresh rate is something that's super important to you. If you're not really a competitive gamer I don't think you'll really care too much about hitting the 144hz mark, but it is nice to have the option there. Meaning that it'd be better to get a monitor that has the max capacity you'd want versus getting cheaper now with an intent to upgrade. Just some of my thoughts as I'm planning to upgrade sometime this year as well.

What do you think is a better option for screen? Either two of these or one of these. I'll be doing some moderate gaming on it, I don't have tons of time for games, but when I play I'd like them to look great if I'm spending this much. Same goes for movies.

Anything else I'm missing? I'll keep the mouse I already have and I found a mechanical keyboard that seems fine.

cpu: by going the with 3600 it will bring this computer up to modern cpu performance benchmarks, where the ryzen 5 3600 has a 2800 single threaded benchmark vs. the ryzen 7 1700's 1700 single threaded benchmark.

cpu cooler: The stock cooler if fine.

thermal paste: I suggest this for all ryzen 3000 builds even though the included air cooler has a stock paste applied. (requires removing the stock paste with alcohol) This ensures the best thermal conductivity. This is very important because of how the new chips are designed.

memory: Blazing fast 16Gb ddr4 3600mhz 16 latency memory, the new ryzen 3000 series benefits from fast memory.

video card: as our chosen monitor is 1080p our only gaming benchmark target is gaming in 1080p. The rx 580 can be found for less than $120 used, and new it's $170. Here are the benchmarks compared with some other videocards when using the ryzen 5 3600. This is the average framerate on Ultra settings across 40 games. The button can be used to change from Ultra to High, Medium, or Low.

monitor: a 27inch (also available in 24inch for the same price, if you prefer better pixel density), 144hz, IPS (Rich color depth), 1ms (total 4ms response time), Flat not curved, gaming monitor. This monitor is new as of September this year, and offers many of the features of TN panels (fast response times) and above average motion blur for FPS style games. This should be a great gaming experience. Here is a very in depth review. A similar quality curved monitor can also be purchase for -$50

power supply: a 550w (more than enough watts), gold rated (power efficient), fully modular(easy to build with), 5-year warranty, and is currently on sale for -$20.

Something to remember too.. is that if you are changing the cpu, that you want to heat up the cpu (by running/utilizing the cpu) to safely separate the cpu fan from the cpu (after it's powered off). It should be gently twist and pull to remove.

As mentioned about 1080p vs. 1440p. I would stick with 1080p for now until you are ready to upgrade monitors and gpus to 1440p. The price for great performance in 1440p is slowly becoming more reasonable (usually a $400+ graphics cards, and a $250+ monitor). The rest of the system (cpu, mobo, psu, ram) are all ready for upgrading to 1440p after the changes.

That's about it! Let me know if you have any questions!

I'm having an issue with my monitors when Freesync is turned on. I have 3 monitors. My main one is a 144/155Hz Dell (Link) and the secondaries are Acer 75Hz (Link). I have tried the Dell at both 144 and 155. My GPU is a 5700 XT on 19.8.1 drivers.

My issue is when I am playing a game on the main screen (I've noticed it with Overwatch and Fortnite in Windowed Borderless) that my other 2 monitors FPS drops to almost nothing. If I have Discord or TS or something up, I can't see it light up when I talk or someone else does. If I have a video running on Youtube, it is running at less than 1 FPS. It's like the monitor doesn't want to update what's on the screen.

I turned off Freesync on the monitor and in the Radeon settings and it seemed fix the issue, so I'm pretty sure it's Freesync. When I google this issue, it seems like most people have the opposite problem where the performance hit is on their main monitor. Also, most answers seem to be play in Fullscreen mode (defeats the purpose of multi monitors, no?) or buy all Freesync monitors at the same refresh rate. Not really an option. Some people say it's actually a Windows issue. I'm not finding much good info, so I'm hoping someone here knows about this.

Does anyone know of any fix or anything to try? What am I losing by not using Freesync? I guess I don't fully understand that technology either.

Edit - Probably not relevant, but here's my full build that I finished a week or two ago. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mJt6cY

Also, I did not have this issue prior to my new build. I had a 144Hz main screen and 2 60Hz screens at that time, but was using an Nvidia card but not G-sync or freesync.

I want to run a dual monitor set up for editing on Lr and PS, i plan on purchasing an arm mount to stack them next to eachother. Any suggestions between these two monitors?

I did find this monitor from sceptre for $247 but I’m questioning the reliability of it. Does anyone have a sceptre monitor and if so how good is it?

I would go with 1080p. I wouldn’t push past it unless you have a 2080 really. At least if you’re looking to take advantage of the 144 hz. I just got a 144hz 1080p monitor in today from spectre. Not much testing done but so far so good. I have the same card as you. Spectre C27

This Sceptre I purchased for myself being a decent human being is pretty awesome. It's on the low-end of the gaming monitor totem pole, but for me it checked all the boxes.

  • Curved monitor
  • 144 Hz refresh rate
  • Freesync via HDMI
  • Built-in speakers

The speakers are tremendously "meh", but I usually game with a headset anyway. It's just nice to have in a pinch or for convenience. I really appreciate all the options there are in the way of modifying picture. I've had a bad run of black crush in a lot of monitors before, but this has a lot of features available to mitigate the issue.

I picked up this monitor and have been using is close to a year now and love its looks and performs really well 144 but its 3ms I was okay with that because of the curve and size as well as the super slim bezels.

Im going to be honest with you, a 2K ultrawide displaying 100Hz are findable for around €600, but their quality in general (and mostly warranty) is bad.

Out of curiosity, what are your specs?

In EU they'll be a tad more expensive. The VIOTEK GN34C's quality is bad. The back of it makes cracking noises after using it a lot due to warmth.

Let me look for some EU websites.

That monitor is 3440x1440 isn't that 4k, I guess I'll stick to 1080p to help bring the budget down. I also heard that 1080p shows bigger pixels and that its recommended if it's under 24" do you think the same applies to curved widescreen monitors? I was using the same site and found this, do you recommend this one?

Question is, while this whole build is nearly 1/2 the price of an equivalent PCPartPicker build, is this computer about to be so outdated that it is not worth buying now? Would it be better to wait a few more months for GPU's and RAM prices to dip and build my own mITX system?

I am getting back into computer gaming with my new build and will be getting a 5700 XT GPU once better coolers are available in August or September. However, I'm not exactly a hardcore gamer... I'll never stream and PUBG is about the only shooter I'll probably play as my tastes range more towards something like 7 Days to Die, Grand Theft Auto, or Red Dead Online. I do a lot of spreadsheet work and some data visualization work through D3.js, as well as Google Sketchup.

Is a 60 Hz refresh rate going to be something that I find awful in a monitor such as: https://www.amazon.com/LG-34UC80-B-34-Inch-21-UltraWide/dp/B074JKT894/ ? Would I be happier with https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Non-Glare-UltraWide-21-Resolution/dp/B07G5FCR6X/ ?

I'm definitely looking forward to switching to a single ultrawide instead of two smaller monitors (my current setup), because it just looks so much cleaner to me and there are models available that have dropped into my price range. I just don't want to drop $800+ if I'm going to be perfectly happy with a $550 or less model for what I do.

u/Flyinpenguin117 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I'm thinking of picking up MSI's ultrawide curved monitor (This one). I'm currently running a 1070 and an i7 8700k. I wanted my GPU to last another year, but would it be worth upgrading now? I'm looking at a 2070 Super or 2060 Super, once they're more readily available.

There are probably loads more, these are just the first few on Amazon, I haven’t tested or researched them so they could be terrible, but from the ones above I’d probably take the MSI one (all though slightly over budget) and I’d still want to research it somewhat before making a purchase. I’m sure if you hold out until Cyber Monday there will be other offers.

One thing I will say though is check your available space as a 34” Ultrawide might only stand as tall as a 27” but it’s HUGE in width!

u/Maethor_derien · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

There are a few good ones, MSI has a 1440 ultrawide that does 100HZ that can regularly be found for about 430, https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Non-Glare-UltraWide-21-Resolution/dp/B07G5FCR6X/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=34UM88C&qid=1569569938&s=electronics&sr=1-5 That one yhas 110% Srgb as well a decent 8ms refresh rate.

u/gameguy32 · 1 pointr/Monitors

This MSI is a mixture of all three of the monitors you listed, it has the high resolution of the first with the ultrawide ratio of the other two, the only drawback is the lower refresh rate of 100hz rather than 144hz.

To be honest, if the “ghosting” doesn’t bother you at all when gaming (doesn’t bother me) this Viewsonic has been working quite well, for me and I grabbed t when it was on sale, so that was a nice perk.

This AOC is supposed to be pretty comparable and is rated pretty highly, as well, it just gets a bit dim when you enable the overdrive (per reviews I’ve seen), so that’s something to take into account. A largish plus to this one is the DisplayPort and VESA, I believe.

Now that it’s on sale I’m tempted to exchange, honestly.

Acer 24" for $165, will get you 1080p, TN panel ultra low latency, 30-144Hz Freesync range with LFC (low frame rate compensation which doubles or triples frames so they fall into Freesync range not all displays have LFC).

AOC 27" $259, 1080p curved display, TN panel ultra low latency, 48-144 Freesync range with LFC so same as above more or less.

Freesync helps smooth out inconsistent frame-rates making some 30/40/50fps games feel smoother.

That Freesync range with LFC roughly translates into 20-60fps range on Xbox with 60hz output and 20-120fps range with 120hz output. Though realistically only 60fps games, rare games with unlocked frame-rates and VRR (freesync) store certified titles will see any benefit (see store capabilities->VRR).

A lot of Xbox One games are 30fps and these games often using a thing called adaptive vsync, this does not work with VRR/Freesync unless the game is VRR certified, for example The Division 2 is a recent example.

If the Xbox One is able to output 120hz mode with VRR/Freesync enabled leave it at that otherwise use 60Hz with VRR, keep in mind Freesync must be manually enabled on the monitors own settings first.

Here's the only review on Amazon which says " The monitor also has an Adaptive Sync option. I'm using an Nvidia RTX 2060 but do not have the ability for adaptive sync in the Nvidia control panel. However, it might be because a previous firmware version is needed in order to allow this. "

None of them, if you want 1080p + IPS you can get something cheaper like this. Or you can even go up to 1440p for this. Could get a 24" 1080p monitor so the pixels aren't as noticeable too.

u/DreadFawks · 1 pointr/buildapc
  • The first monitor you linked to is a TN panel, not IPS. Definitely don't go with that one.
  • Second monitor is an odd brand, and comes with some bad reviews about edge glow and picture quality.
  • Third monitor is only 1080p, which will be much less useful for editing, and will look pretty rough at 27".

OK, since you seem to be in the US I would suggest the Viotek GN27D - I have this monitor and I think it's very impressive in terms of smoothness and color. A few people have complained about dead pixels with this one but my unit seems to be fine.

One downside of this monitor is that the stand is kind of cheap and flimsy, but that's not a huge deal.

Here's an alternative from AOC, though I admittedly don't know a ton about this one. There's also this AOC monitor which is only $230 for a 1440p/144Hz Freesync display, but it's only 24".

u/Nawrly17 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

The monitor you have currently is really solid! I personally, would not bother upgrading just for deeper color, especially for games. But since I'm here to help:

VIOTEK GFT27DB 27” - 329.99 - https://viotek.com/gft27db-27-inch-wqhd-gaming-monitor-speaker-gsync-compatible/

This one is still a TN panel, but its the right size and it boasts 115% sRGB color gamut.

AOC AG273QCX - $499.99 https://www.amazon.com/AOC-AG273QCG-Curved-Monitor-DisplayPort/dp/B07MJCF5N4?th=1

There is also a G sync version that is a lot more expensive. It's VA, 1ms response, the 3000:1 static contrast usually seen in VA panels (IPS & TN are usually 1000:1).

27" CHG70 Gaming Monitor with Quantum Dot - 499.99 - https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/gaming/27--chg70-gaming-monitor-with-quantum-dot-lc27hg70qqnxza/#reviews

VA Samsung monitor that seems to check all the boxes.

Hope these suggestions help! Sorry I couldn't find cheaper ones.

you mean this AOC Agon AG273QCX? AOC one is VA panel.

u/billyturtle · 1 pointr/buildapc

This is probably more monitor than this system needs. Do you need an IPS monitor?

What about a FreeSync VA panel like the AOC Agon AG273QCX. It seems to come in and out of stock, but is usually $299. Then you could go with a 5700 xt like the the Sapphire Pulse or Nitro+ which would be a step up from the 2060 Super but only cost a little bit more.

If you cut back on the monitor a little, you could move up a notch on the quality of the memory, storage, and power supply.

This is the absolute best bang for your buck that you can possibly get. It's 144 hz 27 screen that isn't tiny like 24, and lastly is curved which makes even that much better.

u/_LiveFastEatAss_ · 1 pointr/NEU

Oh boy, here we go with hardware critiques. Well, I actually use the usb-c input to connect my Mac when I’m not gaming so it also serves a productivity function. Honestly, I only kept it because of that one port and it wasn’t insanely expensive (also got it on sale). If I do decide to make the switch to a monitor with a faster/higher refresh rate, I’d need one that has built-in speakers and is 27-32” as those are big deal breakers for me

Update: What are your thoughts on this?

-Upgraded to the AMD 3700X with 3.6 Ghz, 8 cores and hyper-threading.

-Motherboard with some RGB, built-in wi-fi and good reviews.

-Dropped down to 16 GB of RAM, but increased the speeds. I think this would work great.

-Switched to a cheaper, but much faster M.2 NVMe drive. This will plug directly into the motherboard, no cables or wires needed.

-Slightly cheaper RTX 2070 Super. The reviews on the american newegg say it's a great card that runs cool and has a bit of RGB.

-I think this is an overlooked case. Great price, all black with a tempered glass window. I thought the cable management looked good too, here is a completed build on pcpartpicker that uses the same case.

-Similar PSU for the price. I added a bit more wattage for future upgrades or overclocking.

-Cheaper monitor, here are the reviews for it on the american amazon page.

The 7700K is the strongest regular gaming processor, the GTX 1070 a good gpu. If you want to use up more of your budget you could go to a GTX 1080, but I sticked to the GTX 1070 as I decided to pick two 1080p displays for this build. And the 1070 is pretty powerful for 1080p. 512GB SSD plus a 1TB HDD, I think the case strikes the futuristic design checkbox (but you absolutely can pick another one if you prefer).

For the display, two of https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VE248Q-1920x1080-DisplayPort-Monitor/dp/B005BZNDHQ would work well. They can be connected via display port.

For the keyboard you could get https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Mechanical-Enthusiasts-Backlighting-Double-shot/dp/B01MA6O13L. Head over to /r/MechanicalKeyboards and look especially at the wiki to see more alternatives.

I've done my research and I'm perfectly happy with the specs for the Surface Laptop. I only need a computer for word processing and reading so the mid range Surface Laptop will be able to do everything I need no problem. Its important for me to have something sleek and professional looking while small and light weight since my law books are practically bricks.

What is an ISP monitor? Is this one recommended above an ISP monitor?

u/oneunderscore1 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'd definitely be happy if you showed me a few monitors and i've done a little bit of looking around myself and came across these two monitors:

  1. ASUS 24" 1080P with 1 HDMI and 1 display port

  2. LG 24" IPS with 2 HDMI ports

How do these look? Many of the other monitors I saw only had 1 hdmi port and a vga port which got me thinking; do I need a display port or can I get a thunderbolt to VGA adapter or thunderbolt to hdmi port and use that? Are there any drawbacks to that or differences than using a display port?

Also if I play my ps4 on this monitor will there be any kind of input lag or would I not have to worry about that? I know it's something I have to think about when using certain types of tv's because i've had friends who have gotten new tv's but now there is a noticeable input lag and ruins the experience when playing games. Is that something I need to be concerned about on these kinds of monitors?

update: I also found this ACER 24" IPS with 1 DVI (w/HDCP), 1 HDMI, and 1 VGA port.

This one is much cheaper but I'm not sure the differences between them? It says 4ms rapid response time, compared to the 2ms on the ASUS. Is that difference noticeable or negligible for ps4 gaming? Can i get away with using the HDMI for my ps4, get an adapter to VGA for my mac or are there drawbacks for using VGA? So far of the 3, the ASUS seems the best but this one is 40 bones cheaper.
u/awsomeallen1 · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

One last thing.Since I'm most likely getting the first monitor, what's the difference between these three? (Same monitor) https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VE248H-1920x1080-Back-lit-Monitor/dp/B0043T7FHK/ref=sr_1_7?m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1479785709&sr=1-7&refinements=p_6%3AATVPDKIKX0DER%2Cp_75%3A30-%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin%3A6570747011%2Cp_n_size_browse-bin%3A3547806011&th=1
(First one I have you)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16824236154
Then there's this one? It's the same one, but with a Q in the end of the product name.
Same here https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VE248H-1920x1080-Back-lit-Monitor/dp/B005BZNDHQ/ref=sr_1_7?m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1479785709&sr=1-7&refinements=p_6%3AATVPDKIKX0DER%2Cp_75%3A30-%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin%3A6570747011%2Cp_n_size_browse-bin%3A3547806011&th=1
It seems like the Q one is more expensive (10 dollar difference) What does it have? Should I get the Q one instead of the H one? It also seems that the Q one has 50,000,000 instead of the H one which has 10,000,000 (Which is better?) Also seem like in Newegg the monitor has a sticker on it while in Amazon it doesn't. Something to consider? Where should I buy it from?

u/bowlcut · 1 pointr/ShieldAndroidTV

Not filling the high refresh rate... but I am using this in my kitchen on an arm

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B005BZNDHQ

But the 'speakers' are a joke. I got a super cheap small soundbar and the soundbar mounts that go into the vesa mount

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GUIEFJC

Works well enough for the kitchen, keeps it nice and clean with no wires or stand since Im edge clamping a monitor arm mount to the edge of the bar.

It has speaker out, so you go mini jack to rca to a 'sound bar'. As for higher refresh rate monitors, they might have one, I was going super cheap. and 24" at 1080p looks really good. I didnt want any bigger than 24" and tv's at that size are 720p only for the most part. 1080p comes in at like 32" when I was looking. That monitor, soundbar, monitor arm, and all stuff like power strip stuck to the back and such, cost right around $225

u/falihak · 1 pointr/buildapc

Sorry I meant $2000 but I'm sure you already figured that out:

u/Blackout420 · 1 pointr/PS4

I think it would be okay, but you also have to remember that, unless you have the new PS4 pro controller that gets rid of input lag by plugging into the PS4, the Bluetooth connection causes addition input lag.

If I can make a recommendation, I would look at this one, if funds are an issue

This is the one that I have for my PC, but I plug my PS4 up if I'm playing a competitive game like Rocket league/2k/For Honor/FPS

I love my monitor and it makes an undeniable difference in ultra competitive games like Rocket League or 2k where there is a significant amount of input lag.

Another main difference is that the one I have has a refresh rate of 144 hz and unless you have a PC you would use it for those extra 84hz won't make a difference since PS4 games can't go over 60 fps. It will make the game smoother, but you won't get any extra frames, which is why the first monitor I linked would be better for console usage exclusively.

u/carb0nxl · 1 pointr/battlestations

The two at both ends are ASUS VE248Q and my middle one is an Acer monitor I picked up for $180 on sale at staples. You can see that one here.

u/SilveryDark · 1 pointr/PS3

Depends what you consider cheap? This is the one I use as secondary monitor for my PC and to play consoles on, it does the job well. It only has one HDMI port however so I use my PC on displayport and consoles on the HDMI port. If you need 2x HDMI ports I believe the 27" variant does have option for 2x HDMI ports, a bit more expensive though.

u/TheBreakRoom · 1 pointr/Monitors

The world of standard 1080p monitors is pretty vast. I'm not sure what your budget is, but you might want to look into an IPS display.

I have heard good things about this one. But can't personally vouch for it.

Note: I own the monitor you listed.

u/Aedesius · 1 pointr/hardwareswap

If that's your budget, you could get 2 PB238Q's from ASUS, which is probably one of the best 1080p monitors for consumers (unless you want a gaming oriented display).

u/Nawsnap · 1 pointr/buildapc

You don't need a gaming monitor, it's 100% personal preference. I personally use an Asus PB238Q. It's a 6ms 60Hz IPS panel, and I have no issues with games. Some people prefer faster 120/144Hz TN panels for gaming, but I prefer the color accuracy of an IPS panel.

u/NeptLudi · 1 pointr/buildapc

I have this 1440p display - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009C3M7H0/

Are you against getting 3 of the same display? That is generally ideal.

Based on the model number, I guess this would be the 23" 1080p display to match it, but the button layout is different and kind of ugly.

u/wanderjahr · 1 pointr/PS4

I use my PS4 on my TV now, but I've used it on my monitor and actually like the look on my monitor more. My ASUS IPS has more input lag than the one you are interested in, but I never notice it.

EDIT: If you really want my opinion, I'd get this ASUS IPS.

u/Olreich · 1 pointr/Monitors

I can get you cheap, but not best. I can get you best, but not cheap. You're asking for two mutually exclusive things, do you want the best over the cheapest or the cheapest over the best?

I can offer up three cheap, decent monitors (about a 4 out of 10 on quality): ASUS VS239H-P, Dell E2414Hx, Acer G246HL.

I can offer up 2 fantastic, but decently expensive monitors (about a 7-8 out of 10 on quality): Dell UltraSharp U2412M, Asus PB238Q

Trade offs for everything.

i've had this monitor for about a year now and I highly recommend it. I'm considering getting another one for a dual monitor setup. The negative reviews point out the response time to be poor, but I (personally) dont notice it

Its currently $212, just a little over what you said unfortunately, but its a very good monitor

u/Corghee · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

Great! I'm glad you set a good chunk of the budget for your monitors. For the $600 range, I would recommend the ASUS PA248Q and for the $400 range, the ASUS PB238Q. If you find a PB248Q that would be an equally good choice. Getting an IPS or PLS panel becomes more important when you have multiple monitors since you won't be looking at all of them at a direct angle.

u/ducttape83 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I considered this monitor, and the two complaints that kept popping up in reviews were the aggressive anti-glare coating, and excessive brightness. I would try to look at this screen in a store. Seeing it in store turned me off of it, but the Asus pb238q turned out to be a much better choice, in my opinion. The anti glare coating affected the picture too much for me to justify the price, but maybe it won't be such an issue for you, which is why I suggest trying to see a display model. Also the PB238Q seems to be on sale at amazon right now for $200 with a $20 rebate, so there's that.

With regards to the second - would you choose that MX2 over the Acer H276HL and the Dell S2740L?

u/Charizard9000 · 1 pointr/buildapc

so it sounds to me like you'd appreciate an IPS monitor more than a TN monitor with a high refresh and low latency. IPS monitors are really worth it for the great color and picture quality, as well as viewing angles

so that leaves us with the variables size, resolution, and of course price, here are some options:

  • AOC 23" frameless IPS - ~155 @ Amazon, i love the lack of bezel on this monitor, it looks really sleek in person. however, it lacks a DVI connection so you're limited to HDMI. also lacks a VESA mount

  • ASUS 24" IPS - ~190 after rebate on newegg. ASUS monitors have outstanding build quality as well as pictures, and are generally a really go-to brand. again, no DVI port, but IS VESA mount compatible so would be great for a multi-monitor setup.

  • Dell 27" IPS - ~$230 on amazon. this monitor is pretty much the full package with an IPS display, VESA mount, and DVI connection as well as HDMI. this is honestly my pick of the 3, however some people complain about pixel density at 27" for 1080p, so it's not gonna look really crisp from 2 feet away

any of those are great picks, tell me if you want any more examples of monitors, ips or not
u/hawkxcore · 1 pointr/buildapc

Another point to note is that when playing on big TVs your eyes can't take in the whole screen so you'll react far slower to anything that happens around the peripheries. When I switched from my big flatscreen TV to a 24" BenQ gaming monitor, my k/d improved significantly. I totally recommend this bad boy - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00CFFFGUM

http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-RL2460HT-Console-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B00ITORJRQ#

There is the monitor that I use with my PS4. It is a BenQ and features many extras besides a 1ms grey-to-grey response time. It's $209 so, not expensive.

My favorite features with my monitor:

FPS Mode, you obviously select this for Black Ops 3. It enables the first-person shooter features within the options.

Black Equalizer, which brightens dark areas without washing out the overall brightness. Making it easier to see players hiding in corners.

Instant Mode, this automatically turns on with FPS Mode. Does what it sounds like it should.

Low Blue Light, is like wearing a pair of Gunners. Helps reduce eye strain.

AMA, I forget what this stands for but I know for a fact that you want it set to High and not Premium.

HDMI RGB PC Range, make sure you change this from RGB(16-235) to RGB(0-255) no matter what monitor you decide to get. And on your PS4 Sound and Screen settings, within the Video Output Settings, change your RGB Range to Full! This will give you more colors to work with, resulting in a better overall picture.

HDMI Out, yes it has an output HDMI port for streaming. One less cable, and less delay. Cool, right?

Hope this helps. If you have any questions, ask.

You are placing to much value and very low quality parts (headphone jack and speakers) monitors come with. Monitors within your price range which can be rotated use TN panels which look horrible when rotated=no point.

The HP 23 Envy has built in Beats speakers which are better than the horrible speakers monitors usually come with and uses a glossy IPS panel with much better colours and viewing angles than TN panels.

http://www.shopbot.ca/pp-hp-envy-23-hp-price-456217.html

If you really want a height adjustable stand, you can buy a BenQ TN panel, but it will look awful when rotated:

http://www.amazon.ca/BenQ-RL2460HT-24-inch-ZeroFlicker-Monitor/dp/B00ITORJRQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1415910433&sr=8-2&keywords=benq+rl24

Both will work perfectly with consoles, however, if connecting to a laptop with a Nvidia gpu via HDMI, you will need to use a patch to fix the colours:

Not sure how others use the LGP tbh. I have a Benq with an hdmi out which goes straight into my LGP for no hassle. I know Gimr uses a Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle (USB 3.0 or thunderbolt) to convert component source to composite for play on a regular tv, though not using it for direct capture.

Lower Response Time and Input Lag on Monitors. Unless you plan on playing Competitively in Multiplayer it isn't really necessary.

Also, 20in is a bit small, 24in and 27in are usually the preferred. I reccomend the Asus VX248 (I have it) or the BenQ RL2460HT.

I've been looking myself since one of my monitors went out a month or so ago. 144hz for gaming (especially FPS) is much more important than a 2k or 4k monitor. I'm not sure what screen size you want, personally I am looking for a 27".

Acer, 2k, 144hz, 27", Adaptive Sync Cheapest price I have seen for this type of monitor recently.

AOC, 144hz, 27" I don't have any experience with this brand, but this is a pretty solid deal, monitor has an adjustable stand as well as USB ports.

However, if $300 breaks the bank you will want to look specifically at 24" 144hz monitors. Generally you can get them for about 50-100$ less.

AOC, 144hz, 24", Free Sync

u/GoldenNuck · 1 pointr/buildapc

I just finished my first (budget) build. I'm really happy with it, but I could use some help with monitors as it's something I know very, very little about. I'll throw up the pertinent bits of my build below, but I was wondering - which monitor (or monitors) would y'all suggest?

I don't play super fast-paced, competitive games like CS:GO - it's just never been my thing. I mainly stick with RPGs - Skyrim, Witcher, Dark Souls, WoW, Hearthstone, some SupCom and Starcraft, etc. I do occasionally play League and Paragon with friends, but MOBAs aren't super high on my list.

I was looking at this Curved Samsung 27" or this AOC 27". Right now I'm using two old 22" hand-me-down monitors (one of them is actually a small tv from like 2009 that's only 720p). I'm fine using them, the monitor itself is good quality but it's still years old. My rationale is I'd like to get one really good monitor as that's what I'll have my game on and I can use one of these older ones for the second monitor to hold mumble, chrome, spotify, etc. That being said, I'm not opposed to two good monitors. I'm looking to spend at most about $350.

Thanks in advance for any help!

u/vanish619 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

First of all, take 144hz out of the equation. if you're gonna do multi screen as a student like i do (4 Screens 23-27", student for 7years).

Based on my personal opinion, you don't need niether if you're gonna be doing .PDFs and a few tabs here and there. And the low resolution isn't the issue. You might need a better quality screen and then you'd adjust the Font size to relate to your eye sight but never will you need 1440 solely for pdfs on such a small dimension(27)

My screen is 27" 1080 144hz here and i used to use it to write things like 5 pages in 2-3hours on 300-400level.(but then it would fatigue you out if you don't dim everything to absolute darkness)

If you want the possibility of gaming in the future and you are genuinely ticked off at the 1080p for some reason i'd just stick with a 1440p

144hz isn't also a major necessity unless, again your pc can handle games that support that frame rate.

All in all, i really think 1440 and 4k are overboard.

Also, as unintuitive as it may sound, having 23-25" are way better suited for that kind of work (writing, reading) than 27".

I use 27 mainly for gaming and netflix and the lower dimension screens for read, write.

u/Robborboy · 1 pointr/buildapc

A little more than I wanted to pay, but as someone that misses the smoothness of CRTs, 144hz and pricepoint seems appealing.

Alright, changed a few things.

I'm no expert in coolers really, but I've always heard that noctua ones are the best air coolers out there, while corsair usually has the most popular AIO water coolers, so you could start you research from this (example of corsair water cooler)

I put in a better mobo which should, in theory, be more reliable (although I'm not sure that's true. Some people claim that ASRock mobos are not as reliable as asus, msi or gygabyte ones since they cost less, while others claim that they don't give any problem. Not sure where the truth lies. Anyway this asus one also as a few cool things, like auto-OC. Also keeps the usb 3.1 A and 3.1 C as the asrock mobo).

kb+m, added the best ones out there, your choice now (ps the corsair k70 costs 144 on amazon though, 187 with RGB. PCPartPicker has it wrong :/. The logitech g502 is also much cheaper)

As for the monitor it really depends on the gpu and on your needs. If you are ok with a 1080p panel and you want an nvidia gpu, get a good IPS panel and be done with it. (example 1, example 2, example 3).

G-Sync monitors are usually waaay to pricy. Seriously, nvidia should cut the shit down, it's stupid that you can't get a gsync monitor for under 500€...

If you instead go the red route, you can get a freesync monitor cheaply on amazon (but they usually aren't IPS). (example 1-75hz, example 2-144hz)

If you want a higher res panel, then you should get a 1440p one. Gaming at 4K is not really feasible IMHO, even with a gtx1080. (example 1, example 2)

If you do a lot of editing and stuff you could also be interested in a 21:9 monitor (example 1example 2, example 3)

edit: high end new gen amd cards come out this winter BTW. Check news for Vega architecture.

u/jimbobley · 1 pointr/buildapcsalesuk

Thanks, I'll take a look!

Now I'm comparing the XF240H to this G2460VQ6 which is £50 less, but I suppose I might as well get an IPS monitor 75hz if I'm not going for 144hz!

Is it worth getting the 144hz monitor with a RX580?

u/Garfield131415 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

https://www.amazon.co.uk/AOC-Monitor-Response-Adaptive-G2460VQ6/dp/B015510R4M 115 pounds but a great monitor. 1ms, displayport, hdmi with cables included. Using it right now and works like a charm for me. A little higher than your price point but a great monitor. There is also a 22 inch of this that you might like altough i cant find it on amazon

u/The4drian · 1 pointr/buildapc

Woah. Thank you. This was very comprehensive guide. Prices in Spain are usually a bit more expensive, specially the monitors. RAM is quite well priced, I could lower the price to aroud 60$ pero 16GB if I purchase a lower brand.

And, yes, the computer will be used for gaming (also for work but I don't require anything special). I feel that point 3 is for FPS and MOBA like games, which I'm not very fan of, so I'll look into response time and refresh rates.

I've checked the Asus VG248QE and really liked it. Is ranging at 270€ but considering the feautures I'm almost sold. The other 2 ones are ranging a 700€ here, they're out of the cuestión.

This one, AOC G2460VQ6, recently got on sale so I can get it for around 150€. It has same resolution and 1ms response time but a much lower refresh rate of 83Hz(?). This one is Free-Sync compatible and since I have a Nvidia will be unused, but I dont mind taking and AMD once the next gen hits. I'll have to think this out, since its a 120€ difference, but the Asus seems so much better.

Hey, First time builder. I am starting to look at BAPC and decided to just start taking a look at monitors. Looks like there are so many choices that it seems best to get this out of the way. Anywho, Im just looking to see how realistic my search is for a sexy monitor at a decent price:

  1. ultra-wide, 27", up to 4k
  2. Minimum bezels
  3. Curved(?)... probably too expensive.

Other than these aesthetics, Im not sure what else to look for...

  • G/free-sync?
  • Whats a good response time?
  • Whats a good refresh rate?

Purpose of the PC will be casual gaming, light productivity, watching shows. Id love to find something around $200. But I would go up to $400. (This might be overkill considering the PC budget will be $800-1000ish, If I can make it 4k compatible with decent FPS at this price point)

Tell me whats wrong with these examples:

Assuming low response time and not 4k?

    Is 60hz RR any good?

Lastly, 5ms RT when many monitors have 1ms?

I might just be over thinking it all but please let me know how my expectations are and if any example is actually a good monitor.

For mine I used one of these screens, just connected with a right angle, thin HDMI cable running out the back of the computer into the graphics card. The HDMI powers it. I made a bezel for it out of an old DVD case. I made the mount for it out of an old 2.5" HDD bracket screwed onto the 2.5" SSD mount that came with the case. I'm using HWInfo for monitoring and using a rainmeter skin called SimplePerfMeters

I couldn't figure out a good way to attach it directly to the 2.5" drive holder, which is why I used two screwed together to give me a nice surface to attach it with double sided tape (this stuff)

Also if you want you could upgrade the GPU to a [GTX 1080 TI] (https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Optimized-Interlaced-Graphics-11G-P4-6393-KR/dp/B06Y11DFZ3/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1510870489&sr=1-2&keywords=gtx+1080ti&dpID=518eCm%252BMQ0L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch) which will last you for 4-5 years estimated. I don't really recommend getting a GTX 1080 TI unless you plan to do 4k gaming or if you can find one for really cheap during the sales.

take a look at this one:

https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-GL2706PQ-Black-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B06XDQ2RRQ/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

it's a great budget monitor if you're happy staying at 60hz. sounds like you're more concerned about graphics quality/resolution, so im not sure a 1080 could reach 100+ fps on AAA games anyway (with high graphic settings). i wouldn't recommend getting anything smaller than 27 inches for 1440p. note that it's a TN panel, so color accuracy and viewing angles won't be as good as va/ips. but VA and IPS panels will increase the cost, most likely beyond your current budget.

u/Nazthatguy · 1 pointr/buildapc

This 1440p is $100 less although you may be better off with this 1080p monitor as it has 144hz and wouldn't bottleneck the 2070 too bad.

Hey, The_MonBear,

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Ffhb3b Will provide you with a PC that is compatible with and without your hypothetical 980TI, and will also have an SSD in case the one you use for your Xbox does not have matching connectors or SATA ports (don't know why, but some add-ons are strange and are incompatible with certain setups.) It also provides a setup that is very clean are cable-management friendly, as I have friends who have used this case in similar mid-range builds.

If you want, I included a reliable Flash drive for transferring files and booting a copy of windows off of.

If you need to have a more in-depth guide on your building process that uses near-identical components t this PC, I recommend Joey delgado's Ryzen 5 2600 build ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98ujnl1_hW0)

The 580 and the 980Ti have very similar performance outputs, but depending on your budget and your card type, buy a free sync monitor (AMD GPU but about +$50 per 60/144/240 Hz increase) or G-sync (Nvidia but a ~$200 + every 60/144/240 Hz upgrade)

A 1440p 144Hz monitor would not fit in your budget, as it would make your build $1100+ save it be some very unreliable purchases. If you want any monitors I have a few I'd recommend:

1080p 75Hz: https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-E248W-19203R-Monitor-Speakers-Metallic/dp/B0773ZY26F/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=1080p+to+hz+monitor&qid=1556595028&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

1080p 144Hz: https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-Response-Equalizer-Vibrance-Adjustable/dp/B01H5KKQTM/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=1080p+to+hz+monitor&qid=1556595028&s=gateway&sr=8-3

1440p 60Hz: https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-GL2706PQ-Black-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B06XDQ2RRQ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=1440p+60hz&qid=1556595119&s=gateway&sr=8-1

You can use windows without a product key, you just will have a watermark in the right-hand corner of the screen at all times. if you NEED a product key, I recommend you use a reputable site that someone else or yourself may research, otherwise you just have watermarked windows with fewer customization options.

Hope you find this build guide very helpful!

I recently got the LG 24GM79G-B. It's supposed to have the best colour quality of any of the budget panels.

Here is the review for the last gen model: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/lg-24gm77-gaming-monitor,4082.html

I picked it up for $299 CAD. $249 in the US.

u/Aint_No_SunShine_ · 1 pointr/Monitors

Lg 24GM79G-B is a good monitor to check out. Hits all the basic check points.

https://www.amazon.com/LG-24GM79G-B-24-Inch-Monitor-Reduction/dp/B06XFGTGC4

but the xl2411 is also good too.

There isn't any IPS 144hz monitors @ 1080p beside's
LG 34UC79G-B ultrawide

Any i also suggest you stay away from VA panels. While they will provide much better colors than TN panels, their response time is terrible which leads to ghosting and blurring.

This is also very good but a little higher priced, comes with a VA panel which makes it miles better than TN panel for contrast ratio, colour and blacks: https://www.amazon.in/MSI-Optix-G24C-250nits-Display/dp/B072JZ66T3/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1519774819&sr=8-2&keywords=msi+144hz

With this build you could make use of 1080p 144Hz, 1440p 60Hz and if you want to future-proof your monitor even 1440p at 144Hz. Here is a list of monitors that would fit:

u/Phenom507 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Sorry, it was a bit late as I was typing this. I've gone on PCPartpicker, and I've looked at a few options, just wondering what everyone here thought.

I currently have an RX480 8GB, will be building a new pc in the coming months and probably will be upgrading that to a GTX 1080/1180(or whatever the next gen is called).

The models I'm currently looking at are:

Asus MG248Q

LG 24GM79G-B

BenQ XL2411P

AOC G2460PF

I presently have one 1080p 60Hz 1ms refresh rate monitor that I will be keeping until a time comes when I can get a 3rd 144hz, but right now that's just not in the budget.

Of those 4 models, which would you pick?

u/spazturtle · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Conversion rate has changed since I last checked (I checked GBP prices) but there is the Viotek GN34C for $529.99 and the Crossover 34U100 for $519. Both are 3440x1440 100Hz VA 1800R Freesync monitor using the same Samsung panel.

You can also get them on ebay from Korea if you want to gamble with the returns policy.

In the UK you can get the ElectriQ 34" 1440p for £329 ($459) which appears to be the same monitor as the Massdrop Vast but without the QA that you get from the Massdrop Vast.

u/NewToMech · 1 pointr/ultrawidemasterrace

How much you care about accurate color reproduction?

Like I said, if you don't care about gaming all the 3440x1440 might as well be the same monitor for you, outside of color calibration. So you're best off finding the one that currently has the lowest price (which changes because of sales)

I checked Amazon and if you don't mind refurb and a curved screen the cheapest listed is:

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Widescreen-XR342CK-bmijpphz-Refurbished/dp/B06ZYMMX9J/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1523639544&sr=1-3&keywords=3440+1440

If you don't mind smaller brand and curved screens there's this:

https://www.amazon.com/GN34C-Monitor-Widescreen-Definition-DisplayPort/dp/B074G5G8FT/ref=sr_1_6?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1523639544&sr=1-6&keywords=3440+1440

And then the cheapest flat ultrawide they're selling from a larger brand is:

https://www.amazon.com/LG-34UM88C-P-34-Inch-21-UltraWide/dp/B01CDYB5CW/ref=sr_1_8?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1523639544&sr=1-8&keywords=3440+1440

I don't love curved monitors for productivity. I'm constantly aware of some minor distortion when doing anything except playing games.

And people who haven't had flat monitors side by side with curved will say you have to move your head less, but that's not really true. You're saving maybe an inch of width on each side of the average curved monitor.

But curved is in, so most options are curved.

u/FamedCaeser41 · 1 pointr/ultrawidemasterrace

other option I see if you don't mind VA, you can get a viotek GN34C at 100 hz for $529

u/konidias · 1 pointr/FortNiteBR

My aim improved immediately. It is a massive difference. No joke.

I had this monitor before:

https://www.amazon.com/Viotek-GN34C-Widescreen-Definition-DisplayPort/dp/B074G5G8FT

It apparently has a 100Hz refresh rate but I didn't really notice it. It felt like 60Hz to me.

I got this monitor instead:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071D6NGMH/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Felt like I was downgrading because of the smaller res but it's still the default res for Fortnite... and man, the 244Hz makes a major difference.

I noticed it immediately. Just so buttery smooth... whereas my other monitor it felt like I was getting stutters and my mouse wasn't tracking very well. All I changed out was my monitor and it was night and day difference. If you search for refresh rate here you'll see other people with similar claims. It's crazy.

edit: just to note, you're going to need to be pulling 200fps average to really notice a difference though. If you're getting like 60-100fps then there's no point getting a 244Hz monitor.

u/mr_krink1e · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

u/TeCHEyE_RDT · 1 pointr/Monitors

Alright so if you're cheap like me, watch LTT, and want some bombass ultrawide action, I got a GN34C for 500$, which is 3440x1440, 100hz, VA panel, freesync, and curved. It's $530 at the time of this post on Amazon. Today is Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

This is kinda a cheapo monitor, but I haven't had any issues with it so far, although the viewing angles aren't anything special. I can get 100hz in most if not all games I play with a 1070, COD WWII nets me 100 when I have shadows, normal map, and specular map on low and putting AO to HemiAO (turning off reflections is nice too). In Siege I get around 100 most of the time with Temporal AA and LOD at low (my textures are at Ultra). In Doom I max everything on Vulkan. In Fortnite I get 100 with Shadows on medium, Effects on Low, and AO as low as possible (all of these settings were for my visibility however, and I don't know if I was getting 100 beforehand).

Also, for anyone who wants it, PM me and when I get around to it (I'm lazy so I might not do it immediately) I can send you the color profile and settings I am using.

It's ultra wide 34 inches near the same price and 100hz freesync.

I myself had 3 X34's and didn't like them that much... Some Korean 27+ are just as good. AND that one on Amazon I just linked is better.. It's in my opinion the best monitor for price right now next to the X34 and others released under the same panel.

Can anyone tell me if this one is better or not?
