I can do you one better. BEHOLD!

The serial numbers would be the same. Instead of running the risk of being tracked back through your purchases and imprisoned for using counterfeit money, which would quickly result in your cloning ability coming to light, buy some rare metals or gemstones to duplicate. You could also buy about 100 of these 128GB MicroSD cards and fit them in the other pocket. Resell them for $70 on Ebay, and you could make a huge bundle. It would also help me by driving down the price of MicroSD cards.

And another thing, OP. If you are going to sell your clone's meat, for goodness sake sell the organs you prick. People are dying and desperate, and you have an daily supply of fresh organs you could flood the black market with at low prices. Not that it would be easy at first, but once you find a regular buyer you might even discover a way to get them into legitimate supply chains. If each clone saves 5 people, wouldn't that make you feel better than selling them as deli meat? Don't be such a jerk OP. If you're taking the risk by selling their meat anyway, at least save some lives with it.

Sandisk and Samsung already make real 256GB cards. Samsung gave them away with Galaxy Note 7 (and also S7 I think) preorders. Sandisk lists a 256GB one on their website and you can buy it sold by Amazon.

u/MarbleFox_ · 46 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Playing on a huge map with max city-states, performance notably degrades late game, but I wouldn't say it's anything particularly major and the biggest issues (menu delay, sound cutting off, etc) go away if you close and re-load the game.

For u/Crooks-1 I'm playing digitally with the game loaded on this card.

u/GoldenGonzo · 45 pointsr/assholedesign

You don't. Most if not all of the SD cards advertised as 1-2TB are fake, being small capacity cards that had their firmware hacked to show a spoofed high capacity.

Basic rule of thumb is, if you've never heard of the brand making the card, don't buy it. Stick to Kingston, PNY, Samsung, MiniMicro, SanDisk and other well-known, reputable brands.

Here is a highly reviewed 512GB micro SD from Samsung. $90, 4.5/5 stars in reviews.

400GB micro SD from SanDisk, $52, 4.5/5 stars.

That's more than I'd ever need on a phone. My hard storage on my desktop is 2TB, and I hardly fill that up even with lots of films.

u/Why_Is_This_NSFW · 37 pointsr/Roadcam

No shit! Evasive maneuver +100!

Is that Yi Dashcam still like $50? That thing is really good for its' price.

EDIT: Yup still $50. If you don't have a dashcam, get this one as a starter if you're tight on money. Just make sure you get a high endurance SD card (I like Transcend, but others make them also, these have just been bulletproof for me).

u/elitenls · 37 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Seconded. 128GB for $20.99, 256 for $44.99, 512 for $99.99. There's no fucking reason not to.

u/MoogleMan3 · 30 pointsr/NintendoSwitchDeals

> 512GB is currently the largest capacity available.

There's 1TB cards available. Crazy expensive though.

Great deals on these cards. That 512GB will probably be $50 or less by black friday.

u/CoppingFreeFeels · 28 pointsr/BMW

UPDATE: (no video until I've worked this out)

GO BUY A DASH CAM. THIS IS THE ONE I HAVE AND ITS $21. Just needs an SD card. And an optional better mount. Mine is mounted behind my rearview mirror so you don't notice it and its hardwired in the same spot as my V1 so it automatically turns on with the car and starts recording.

UPDATE (cont.):

I seriously had to take a few hours to cool off and enjoy my vacation. Unfortunately I got back to the hotel after the managers had left.

Just spoke with the front desk manager who runs the show at night while the actual hotel managers are on during the day. He was super professional about it. Albeit, he's completely powerless in the situation but he took control, called everyone and setup a meeting for tomorrow morning.

Notes:

  • He was completely shocked by the video.
  • I had to tell the valet how to drive the SMG tranny is on tape.
  • When another gentlemen comes up to the car and asks if its his, he responds with a laugh and says "Nope, but its mine for now!"
  • He peels out of the hotel.
  • The car goes airborne twice. Once entering the garage. And again as he goes down a slope and launches off a ramp that meets a right turn entrance a parking level.
  • The wheels are burning at least 3-4 times.
  • The valet laughs at the end to cap it off.

    New things:

  • The valet turned out to be the supervisor.
  • The valet is outsourced by the hotel and carries its own insurance.
  • The other valets all knew about my car.
  • The ramp he flew off, leads to another garage that I was able to park in tonight with another valet. Meaning that, he intentionally launched it off there instead of slowing down.

    Possible Solutions Discussed:

  • Hotel
  • Valet
  • Food/Beverage
  • BMW Inspection
  • Repairs
  • Future Stays

The conversation went really well but again he's not the person in charge. Anyone capable of doing anything knows about it and will have a night to figure out how to appropriately respond.

Sorry guys, no video yet until I have an answer. Another update will come tomorrow morning.

The price per gigabyte for flash storage vs. optical disc storage remains as much of a problem today as it was in the N64 era. For a rough idea of the difference, let's look at average consumer prices for a spindle of blu ray discs vs. a high-capacity flash storage device:

http://www.amazon.com/PNY-128GB-MicroSDXC-Memory-P-SDUX128U160G-GE/dp/B00W77C1W4

128GB of flash storage for $30 (an average price of slightly over $0.23/GB), vs.

http://www.amazon.com/Optical-Quantum-OQBDR06LT-50-Blu-Ray-Recordable/dp/B009KXE4VO

about 1.25TB of optical storage for $24 (an average price of <$0.02/GB).

Flash storage remains, to this day, over an order of magnitude more expensive than optical storage per unit of data. Scale that up times hundreds of millions for every game printed and it's easy to see why we're still using discs, and why third parties flocked to Sony in the N64 era. Yes, cartridges have their advantages, but for third parties it's not worth paying literally 10x the price per storage unit - that cuts into their profit margins (especially considering that the size of the average AAA game today is probably something like 30GB minimum).

For that reason alone I sincerely doubt the NX will return to anything like cartridges.

> I don't need a $230 256GB microSD

The cheapest Samsung microSD with 256 GB is only 140 Dollar on Amazon.com: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-microSDXC-Adapter-MB-MC256DA-AM/dp/B01JNGCWHU/

Given that Samsung produces them inhouse and that they are mostly that expensive because of the novelty factor this is even with the cam or charger more of a 100 Dollar off deal.

How you and the people that upvoted think that the extras justifying a price drop of probably +550 Dollar is beyond me...

> the idea that a decent SD card is slower than a 5400 rpm HDD is laughable.

you might want to check your data again.

here is a list of micro sd card benchmarks from 2016 https://havecamerawilltravel.com/photographer/fastest-microsd-cards

the fastest micro sd card they tested managed 86MB/s sequential read and 83MB/s random read. average cards on that list, including class 10s were 50 MB/s or less.

here is an Amazon listing for the expensive Samsung EVO card he talked about in the video

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Select-Memory-MB-ME256DA-AM/dp/B01G7L03OS/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1484358997&sr=8-13&keywords=samsung+evo+micro+sd

Samsungs own listing for the product says its capable of 95 MB/s. real world performance is likely lower than manufacturer listing, it always is.

your own link shows that the best sandisk card is rated at 95 MB/s. independent benchmarks show it lower.

here is a benchmark for a 5400rpm hard drive from 2011 - http://blog.macsales.com/11825-when-slower-is-actually-faster

it averaged at 110MB/s.

here is a benchmark for a 10000rpm hard drive, since you claim that sd cards are faster than that.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/5729/western-digital-velociraptor-1tb-wd1000dhtz-review/2

it averaged at 213MB/s for sequential read

he is right. only the extremely high end microsd cards can get close to a good 5400rpm hard drive, let alone a 10000rpm hd like you claim.

turns out you are the one who doesnt know what he is talking about

Those are some nice visualizations.

I've always found the most impressive tech advancement to be digital storage, particularly flash memory and the way we keep finding innovative ways to drastically increase storage density over and over without even shrinking the die. Right now we know for absolute certain that we can increase density 250-fold over the current highest without any new innovations. The thing holding it back right now is cost.

If you trace Flash back to its roots you find it was first available as a 1MB PCMCIA card costing $350 in 1991. Since then cost per GB of flash memory has halved every 14 months without fail. If that rate continues, which seems likely (it's probably even accelerating), 64TB MicroSD cards will be under $30 within 10 years.

If that seems impossible, remember that 10 years ago the biggest MicroSD available was 2gb and cost $100.

u/ahanix1989 · 10 pointsr/explainlikeimfive

Just... every time you think you're smart, you realize a team of people have figured out insane shit like your eight-core processor and have made the process cheap enough for the average person to afford.

Going just beyond the math of HOW to make a processor, but actually building the machines that can assemble it. It's one thing for the science to work on paper, yet another to make it a reality.

Think about all the visions of the future we used to have. Ejecting a 4" holographic disc full of data. Yeah? We kicked that in it's ass. We have the technology to store over one trillion bits in a package small enough to literally swallow, for less than the cost of a cheap wooden picnic table, and it's still bigger than it actually needs to be for the sake of our clumsy, stupid hands.

Edit: I'll say that BestBuy's prices on Micro SD cards are normally pretty brutal. Even on there "sales" always make sure to compare with other websites or at least Amazon.

u/Galen640 · 10 pointsr/Switch

First of all: Screen Protector. Once it's on you never notice it, doesn't hurt to get that extra safety!

I've bought 10 games so far, and I'd say get all of these because I have enjoyed them. BOTW, Splatoon 2, Sonic Mania, Rayman Legends, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (assuming you like DBZ,) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokken Tournament DX, Street Fighter 2 Ultra, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and Yooka Laylee.

If I had to pick 3 for you to get to start out then I would pick Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I think that's enough variety to keep you busy for awhile.

A carrying is always a good thing, I'd recommend This case because it's the one I use and does its job.

Accessory wise I have joycon grips which are AMAZING when playing with one joycon.

Also, the grip it comes with is trash. Get the Power A Grip it feels A LOT better in your hands.

As for SD Cards, it depends. I have a 32GB SD card. I mainly buy physical games, The extra space is for screenshots and videos, and download only games, like Sonic Mania, Yooka Laylee, etc. If you're going for digital only then get a 256GB. Sure you won't use a ton of space now, but you might a few years down the line. Also, do NOT get the official Nintendo ones. They are a RIP-OFF! Here are some nice alternatives that will get the job done for A LOT cheaper: 32 GB 64 GB 128 GB and finally 256 GB

If you have any other questions feel free to ask OP, and other (potential) switch owners!

Speaking of dash cam, I highly recommend this one! I've had it two years now and it works great, hot summer days and blistering cold winters. The quality is 1080p, front AND back at 30fps. But don't skimp on the memory card. I got this beauty and haven't had a complaint since my last card, which was cheaper, went out on it. The only issue is it will hold 10 hours of footage. But you see everything in these recordings!

u/Osga21 · 7 pointsr/gaming

You'll want one (or more) of these paired with a couple of 16GB microSD cards. It costs about $25 to get 32GB of space as opposed to about $75 for a 32GB MS Pro Duo card.

You can also get this which is just one of those adapters with two 16GB microSD cards included. The availability and prices change on Amazon all the time, so just search for "ms pro duo microsd" to see what the current best deals are.

u/RabidBlackSquirrel · 7 pointsr/Portland

Its reviews have been crap as of late, but I haven't had any problems. Was a bit of a pain to get set up how I wanted (default language was Russian), but now it just does its thing.

  • Camera
  • Memory card
  • If I was rich, I'd get this one instead

Holds about 10 hours of footage, dumps the oldest clip when the new one writes. Powers on with the car, I ran the power cable up my headliner, through the door seal and behind the glove box to one of my power ports. Can't even see it, no splicing necessary (though you could tap into a 5v line if you have power to the rearview mirror).

I've seen some shit in the few months I've had it. Several accidents (involving other vehicles), several near misses with cyclists and pedestrians being morons. I strongly believe every driver should have one for their own protection.
u/quarterburn · 7 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

u/Traitor_Donald_Trump · 7 pointsr/DataHoarder

Lexar has the 1TB for about $256, and Samsung has the 512GB @ $78 currently on Amazon.

u/AsinoEsel · 6 pointsr/me_irl

They do, but it's gonna cost you $450 on Amazon

u/Straumli_Blight · 6 pointsr/spacex

Switching to 1TB microSDXC cards (5 g mass), you could ship 20 EB of data and bandwidth would be 1.286 TB/s for a 180 day trip.

The storage would probably cost around $4 billion (or 2 SLS launches).

u/work_login · 6 pointsr/Truckers

I have an A119 in the truck and every car I own. $90 on Amazon. It's nice and slim and works without any issues. I leave it on 24/7, it has motion detection so it won't record if nothing is moving for hours.

Make sure your get a high endurance card, not just an SD card. Most of the time it's actually the card that craps out, not the camera.

https://www.amazon.com/TRANSCEND-INFORMATION-Endurance-Microsd-TS32GUSDHC10V/dp/B01BDKTQY6

u/GarageguyEve · 6 pointsr/pics

Here you go! 256 gb sd card. Should be able to record 3-4 shifts non stop. It could then just overwrite itself as it does now. And would only need to be removed when an incident happens, but would have 3 days worth of evidence instead of T+30 seconds IF they turned it on. Even if we upgraded that to a 512gb card so your have 1.5 weeks of video....at around $250 a piece..and at your 100 officers...that's $25k. If police forces can spend $250k on an Armored vehicle that doesn't get used...why can't they afford 25k and buy something that can ACTUALLY protect the Police AND civilians?

u/posts_stupid_things · 6 pointsr/samsung

>That memory card alone is $200

It's actually $160 right now, and has been as low as $130 recently. The 128GB version is under $50.

$99 was an absolute steal, but I wouldn't write off the card as a standalone purchase.

u/Tuscan_Computer · 6 pointsr/WiiHacks

First off, read my info here against utilizing a flash drive for maintaining your softmod. You do NOT want your only NAND backup on that thing if it fails.

Besides this, my best recommendations are:

  1. Use a portable SSD over a traditional portable HDD.
  2. A great portable SSD that I would recommend is this one. It's a medium-sized 256GB SSD that's around $45. If you're interested, their page also hosts a 1TB drive for $119 but that's completely up to you.

The reasons I'm recommending a mid-triple digit megabit transfer rates are not for your Wii or even future Wii U system, it's for backup ability and higher transfer speeds to copy from a PC, or other device with extreme ease.

My next recommendation is a C10 ultra speed SD card averaging in at 128GB. With a micro to standard SD card adaptor, you can even use a mobile device to begin softmodding your Wii via Letterbomb. Check it out here

The reasoning for such an unnecessary amount of space for your SD is for the predictable inability to utilize the GameCube's Nintendont software. Pretty common to have this fail in various areas.

Software recommendations: Wii Backup Manager (x86/x64). This will be helpful for back and forth compatibility between your pc (if you have one), and your Wii. Without it in front of me, I can't remember the GameCube iso prep tool for expanding and shrinking isos, but if you're interested in that I'll pull that data from my old external for you to utilize (of course if you decide to play GC games).

Hardware recommendations: simply get a GameCube controller. Though it's hard to spot an official GC controller on Amazon for a decent price, it's worth searching.

I've had my Wii modded for almost 6 - 7 years and have played it forever. Before that, I had another Wii that I had modded for 3 years. I've never had more fun until my Wii U came in the mail a few days ago.

    Hope this helps! ✌️

Works great in my PSP.

u/eternia5 · 6 pointsr/tablets

Most tablets and phones, including the Venue 8 Pro need microSD cards and cannot utilize full size SD cards. 128GB microSD cards are cutting edge, first released on Feb 2014, and quite expensive at $115 each.

Onboard memory runs at ~150 MB/s, whereas microSD runs at only 10~15 MB/s. Non-sequential performance is even worse.

My Venue 11 Pro doesn't support UHS-1. The Venue 8 Pro likely won't either.

Installing programs onto microSD takes some additional leg work (mounting). microSD doesn't support use of the recycling bin, all files are deleted permanently (even if the drive is mounted).

A lot of files for system services (Windows OS, System Restore, Shadow Copy, hiberfil.sys, etc) need to be kept on the C:\ drive.

Despite these limitations, microSD expansion is great. I have a 64GB microSD card in my 64GB Venue 11 Pro.

u/SumoSizeIt · 6 pointsr/mac

Thunderbolt 2 to HDMI cable or adapter will help should you ever want to hook it up to a projector or tv. You can usually get a combo one that also includes DVI and sometimes even VGA.

I also recommend a USB 3.0 hub, ideally with ethernet built in to kill two birds with one stone.

Finally, if this is a 13", a slim SD card that doesn't need to be removed is nice for expanding storage.

If you ever need to do a microphone input, I also suggest a cheap USB soundcard.

u/about_that_crazy · 6 pointsr/apple

u/Oen386 · 6 pointsr/RetroPie

I would suggest not doing what you are asking.

Keep the SD card you have. Get a USB drive. They're half as much, and you can add on to the space you already have.

Here is one that is ~$28. Compared to ~$55 micro SD Card..

If you keep your current card and get a USB, you would have about 160 GB of space combined. It will also save you $20.

In my personal experience, I went from a 32 GB card that was supported and worked great, to one step up to a 64 GB (same model, just a larger size). For whatever reason the card can't read continuously, which causes pausing while browsing and stuttering during PS1 movie intros. I ordered two of them, and both have the same issues. I did lots of testing, Pi 2 and Pi 3, 2 different 32 GB cards and 2 different 64 GB cards. The 64 GB cards just had issues with reading and occasionally writing. There were never errors, or bad writes, just delays which can cause pausing. Putting the PS1 games on a USB drive solved that.

Edit: If you're using all the ports on the Pi, then upgrading the card might be less of a headache.

A quick check of the Gamecube systems specs and the Raspberry Pi Zero specs says that the Pi Zero is technically capable of running Gamecube games. Because there are 661 GC games delivered on [1.5 Gb discs](http://www.avrev.com/home-theater-accessories/game-systems/nintendo-gamecube-special-edition.html "Second paragraph, near the bottom") means that the entire GameCube library is less than 992Gb. So, with a Raspberry Pi Zero and two of these little guys, you could probably fit a GameCube and every single game up your ass for a little under $700.

u/fartlekbritches · 5 pointsr/Android

For starters, I'd be glad to help you find the right camcorder!

Here is an option:

  1. Camera: Panasonic HC-V770K Full HD Camcorder - A fantastic camcorder for the price, just about the cheapest still with good features. It is pushing the budget a bit but i think it would be worth it. 5-axis image stabilization, 1080p with slow-mo, wide aperture for low light, timelapse mode, and more.

  2. Shotgun Mic: Rode VideoMic GO Lightweight On-Camera Microphone - A good small shotgun mic that does not require a battery (uses very little power from the camera).

  3. SD Card: SanDisk 32GB Ultra Memory Card - 2 32GB memory cards should get you plenty of record time and allow you to off-load the footage from one card while being able to use the 2nd card.

  4. Camera Bag: Ruggard Commando 25 Shoulder Bag - A great little camera bag that should fit everything you need in it. If you think it is too small, just step up to it's bigger brother the Commando 36.

  5. LED Light: Genaray LED-2100 36 LED Compact On-Camera Light - A great little on-camera LED light to add more light if you think that is going to be an issue. It can totally be removed if you need to cut down the budget and you dont think you will need it. (a smartphone light would work in a pinch if you rarely need extra light)

  6. Extra Battery: Panasonic Lithium-Ion Camcorder Battery Pack (3.6V, 1940mAh) - This is another battery of the same size as the included one. According to product specialists, it will get you ~1.5 hrs per battery. If you need to cut down on the budget, I would recommend cutting the extra battery and using the included AC adapter more often or using a USB battery pack to power the camera.

For attaching the mic, slide the included detachable cold shoe mount into the slot at the rear of the camera until it clicks, slide the mic into the cold shoe and tighten the knob to secure it in place. For attaching the LED light, screw the bar into the bottom of the camera and attach the LED light to the bar similar to attaching the mic.

If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to ask. I hope this helps!

Carrier pigeons, with training, can carry up to 75 grams of cargo.

The largest microSD card available today holds 256 gigabytes, and weighs about 0.5 grams.

So with some basic math we could assume that a carrier pigeon can hold up to 150 of these microSD cards, or 38.4 terabytes.

You should definitely look into a decent MicroSDXC card to store digital games, since many of the games worth playing on Switch are only available on the eShop. Plus, you'll want to take advantage of good sales when they come up.

Be sure to get a card from a manufacturer with a good reputation - there are a lot of phony cards out there that claim to be bigger than they actually are.

Here is a decent 128GB card for $18

Here's a 256GB card for $38

Here's a 512GB card for $71

Hope this helps!

u/4DashCamVids · 4 pointsr/Dashcam

You should look for a high endurance MLC card. I personally have a 32gb trancend high endurance card which I managed to get for $33 so you might be able to find a better deal than the $40 it's currently going for. But you will have to spend more for the increased endurance.

MLC cards have two bits of memory per cell. TLC cards have three bits of memory per cell.

TLC cards are more dense and therefore cheaper to produce but lack the endurance that you want for something that is constantly recording and being over written.

This article goes much more indepth but is a little more focused on SSDs than micro sds but it's the same silicon tech.

u/thesingingnerd · 4 pointsr/Denver

As others have stated, the A119 is awesome. Optional GPS and the video quality is top notch. If you want it on even when your car is off, you'll have to get a fuse adapter which you'll need to hardwire into your car. Relatively simple but requires some grunt work. Otherwise, you can run the USB cable to your cigarette lighter by removing the paneling around your windshield. Simple in every car though it can appear daunting. I went the cigarette lighter route and it took me all of 3 hours to get the whole thing installed. Make sure you get SpyTec though. The hardware is sold by a third party manufacturer and rebranded by several sellers. SpyTec has the best customer support and they use a little better housing. Also, make sure you get a high endurance micro sd made for being written over several hundred times before burning out. You'll want to replace it once a year depending on how much you drive. I use this guy. Enjoy the peace of mind!

Worth mentioning, some people will tell you not to get the GPS because you can incriminate yourself if you were speeding. But the police can pull your speed based on the road dashes, so you're gonna get nicked either way. So don't base your decision off that.

u/My_Police_Box · 4 pointsr/techsupport

Judging by the reviews it is most likely a fake card. 66% of people who got that gave it a 1 star rating with negative reviews. And note the many reviews stating it is a fake card. I would return it. And the price should have been a tip off. Something like this is more along the right price for a 256 GB MICRO SD card and not $22.99.

In the end read the reviews before ordering something. And compare it to similar items. It things look to good to be true, then more than likely it is.

I have a pretty good one, learned a lot from a website known as dashcamtalk.com. Here are the details:

  1. Ordered the DVR-007 dashcam from the following ebay listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310395030964 This seller is recommended by dashcamtalk and I didn't have any issues with them.

  2. It requires an SD card. From my research, I found out that the reliability of the dashcam depends on the quality & type of SD Card. Thus, this is the SD card I purchased: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003VNKNF0/ref=pe_309540_26725410_item

u/pfkninenines · 4 pointsr/funny

Fortunately that's not the case any longer, though it's likely the case for ~140-ish GB and more. You can buy an Android device with 16-64GB of internal storage and then if it supports MicroSD you can throw a 128GB card in and rock on.

That's what I did (though not the 128gb version) when I got fed up with the lousy iPod Touch battery and camera on my iPod Touch 4th gen. Bought a Galaxy SII, threw in a microSD card and had my entire library, a nicer camera and modern OS for around $200 at the time. Didn't hurt to get GPS capability and replaceable batteries, either.

u/DavidXGA · 4 pointsr/applehelp

The best way is probably half-length SD cards that are designed to fit in your SD card slot and not stick out, so that you can leave them in there permanently.

You can also get a thing which does the same thing for microSD cards: https://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-microSD-Adapter-MacBook-Non-Retina/dp/B00WQVK754/

u/Takeabyte · 4 pointsr/mac

Yeah if all you’re doing is basic school work, it should work out just fine. You might have to buy a new battery for it down the road but that’s not the end of the world.

The only thing about using an SD card in that fashion is that the card will stick out from the case and has the potential to break either the card, the slot, or both if you accidentally bump/smash it in your bag. There are a lot of options though for finding a flush SD card like this one though. Just keep in mind that any SD card is going to be way slower than the internal drive and in some cases slower than loading from a cloud storage option. But it will work fine.

u/DaGeek247 · 4 pointsr/LinusTechTips

This will end up costing you 2,500$ + the 25$ card. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B074RNRM2B/ A similar sized ssd will cost 1,500$.

But we can take this further. There are 512GB capacity MicroSD cards. This will end up costing 3,000$ for the sd cards, and net you a whopping 5TB setup. Plus 25$ for the card. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00NP699ZI/

Just in cases, if for some reason you're running higher bit rates you might want to look at this instead. I've had some GoPro's dropout after a bit with slower bit rated cards (even class 10) so stepping up to the extreme class.

Moving the saves over is pretty easy. You'll need to softmod your WiiU. It's only temporary and very easy to do. You just need an SD Card 32GB or less and a USB to SD Card adapter.

If you have games that you want play online, I'd also recommend dumping: your files needed for online, mii heads, and friends list app while you're at it.

Here's a video guide for that.

Now after having watched that video you should know what I'm talking about going forward:

You just need to open the homebrew launcher with the browser exploit and then launch 'Mocha CFW'. Then you'll be back at the homebrew menu. Now, launch 'SaveMii Mod' and then you can use that to dump all your savedata to the SD Card. Then you can plug the SD Card into your PC with a USB to SD Card Adapter and move the files into Cemu.

Here's a video showing how to use SaveMii Mod (start from 2:03).

Just remember to launch 'Mocha CFW' before launching 'SaveMii Mod'.
___

Then (obviously) you need to dump your game(s) from your WiiU to get them on your PC.

You can dump them with FTPiiu everywhere.

The 00050000 folder stores installed games.
The 0005000E folder stores installed updates.
The 0005000C folder stores installed DLC.

If it's a disc game, then you'll need to use DDD. Here's a video guide showing how to use it. Select the disc option.

But you'll still need to dump the DLC and updates with FTPiiu everywhere.

Lexar cards are garbage now. The company was dissolved and the name was sold and is now manufactured by crappy Chinese companies that care only about the name.

You want to use micro SD cards that use MLC technology. The old TLC standard does not work as well and cannot take the harsh conditions or constant overwriting of files. I recommend the Transcend High Endurance model

If you are on a tight budget you may want to consider the Transcend Premium 400X or the Samsung EVO Select

u/wdgiles · 3 pointsr/Dashcam
  1. Transcend High Endurance Micro sd card, the silver colored cards that are designed for dvr and dashcam use.
  2. 1440, 30fps for slightly better res to see plates.
  3. the camera itself can move on two axes, so it will work pretty much anywhere you stick it.
    • I own four of these and I love them. Started with a single a118c, and moved that to rear view duty, using the 4 119c's as primary front views on 3 cars and on one as a rear view. Get the GPS module and a dedicated power supply like a rio-rand usb voltage converter if you plan to hardwire it. The gps module allows you to slide the camera on and off without touching the power cable since it connects first to the GPS module. Also get the capacitor model, The "C" since it is less prone to long term battery expansion issues in high heat environments.
u/lucaspiller · 3 pointsr/homelab

Some new cards like (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01BDKTQY6)[Transcend's High Endurance] have MLC NAND which is designed to endure higher writes. They are good for things like dash cams which do loop recording, so I'd assume work better for log files too.

Not an expert either, but I'll give suggestions anyhow.

Camera: I currently have a T2i, it does everything I'd ever want when it comes to that "line" of Canons. The T3i and T4i don't seem that worth it for an upgrade to me. The hardware is the same, and I don't NEED a swivel screen, or touch screen. You may be different, so keep that in mind. That all being said, the T3i body is a good deal.

Lens - I don't personally use this, but I've heard nothing but good from it. Not much more to say I guess. If you want a zoom lens for more versatility during these shows, but it's all relative. I get by at the moment with a nifty 50mm.

Memory Card- I have the 16 gig version of this, and it's been reliable so far.

Audio Recorder- This is where there may be controversy. Most, if not all, people on this subreddit, suggest the Zoom recorder. Its more expensive, so it's up to you. Based on reviews, they are basically the same.

Microphone- Not sure if you WANT this. It depends on what "live audio" you want to record. If its a loud concert, getting audio to sound good will be extremely difficult. The loud volumes, and usually boosted lows, don't make for the best sounding live recording. Recording off a mic isn't the best in any live situation in a venue anyway. If this is the only thing you'd use a mic for, then I may hold back if I were you, if you know you can get a direct line-in to your Tascam recorder. That is the best solution. If not, the mic is great and I recommend it.

Rig Setup- Might want to make a PVC stabilizer, but try and make it look as classy as possible, to look professional (Is that possible with PVC?) If you want to record your Mic audio to your recorder, you'll need this and this to let the DSLR hold both at the same time. You'll need a couple quarter inch converters too. Maybe an XLR as well, if you want to get direct audio feed from whatever the venue is playing.

I think I typed enough. And I probably forgot about something. Anyway, try and make sense of my wall of text, hope it helps.

Edit: Forgot to say, this'll add up to about $1450 if I did my math right. Not including shipping and stuff.

u/PaperJesus · 3 pointsr/photography

So, when I got this camera, I was also in the same situation where I needed to get an SD card for it. The two most important things I considered were SD card size and write speed. Well, I guess price played into it too.

This is a pretty good resource for learning the difference between what's on each SD card. I also would recommend ordering it via Amazon if possible instead of getting it from Best Buy because you'll save a lot of money.

I ended up getting this for my camera. I've been happy with it except that I still find that there is some delay after I take a bunch of shots. The ones recommended by u/rideThe seem to be a lot faster than this card and not too much more expensive. If I were to choose again, I would probably go with one of those.

u/Rosc · 3 pointsr/3DS

Get a class 10 microSD with an adapter. That way, if you decide to upgrade to a New 3ds at some point in the future, you don't have to buy storage all over again.

I'm using one of these right now and it's working fine.

u/Tempest123 · 3 pointsr/PSP

Your in luck. Amazon is currently having basically half off micros sd cards.
Order this and this and you will have 32gb storage with room to grow for about 30 dollars.

u/spyder93090 · 3 pointsr/gopro

Get a Class 10 MicroSDHC, the Class 10 is the important part; this is the speed at which the memory card can read & write. Too slow (a lower class) and it won't be able to keep up with the HD video that your camera throws at it.

I recommend 32GB at the minimum. This will net you about 4.5 hrs at 1080p/30p.

Edit: I personally have the SanDisk 32GB Ultra Class 10 MicroSDHC. Got it on sale at Staples for $15 when I got my H3B. But $22 is still reasonable IMO. Comes with SD adapter.

Edit 2: In reply to Dubkingben's comment. I am on a Hero 3 Black. The highest I have recorded is 1080p 60p with ProTune on on RAW WB and haven't experienced any cutting out, personally. But obviously, if you plan to record in 2.7k+ or any of the higher-res settings, probably best to go with their Extreme series.

Thanks guys.

From my experience with SDHC cards of different varieties, you're never going to get the speeds the manufacturers quote but if you do your research you can get a card that is fairly close. I have been using class 10 and UHS-1 cards since they came out and they have good read\write speeds. With my ADATA I get ~60 MB/s read and ~40 MB/s write the last time I tested it out when I got it. Here's a link (2013 but will give you an idea of differences) that benchmarks several different class cards.
Here's a benchmark of a newer SanDisk UHS-1 from this year which gets read and write speeds of ~90 MB/s and ~60 MB/s.

I'd recommend trying to find reviews\benchmarks of whatever card you're interested in because real word speeds and theoretical speeds vary quite a bit and often a cheaper card may perform better than a more expensive one.

Also: SanDisk released a 128GB microSD earlier this year..beware of fakes

edit: typos

It will likely be this one by SanDisk as that is the only one on the market right now. No one else is making that capacity yet.

>1) I have a 1 TB USB 2.0 HD that my SP2 won't recognize. I believe it's a Seagate that I bought a few years ago to backup my files. I'm reading online that some externals won't work with the SP2 because there isn't enough power being utilitized for it or something. Ok. The HD lights up, but isn't recognized. My SP2 is plugged in, and my HD doesn't have a power source of its own (it doesn't plug into the wall). Am I SOL? I would hate to replace a perfectly good 1TB HD.

Try using a USB powered HUB. I use the Anker USB 3.0 4 Port hub and it works great for devices that need to be powered.

EDIT: Some devices that may need power from the USB may work with a non-powered hub. The hub I linked to will work, try it plugged in first to install the drivers and then again without powering the hub. It may work.

>2) On that note, how do YOU store your files? I am so far behind with cloud storage it isn't even funny. I know I'm living in the stone age, but I like having the physical HD that I can plug in. The remaining space in my 128 GB SP2 is barely going to cover my music, never mind the movies/photos/other that I have. I don't need them all at the drop of a hat, but they are there. So what's the best fix? An external 3.0? Cloud storage? Some kind of NAS like the WD My Cloud?

I use a combination of Dropbox and SkyDrive OneDrive as well as my own personal deployed "cloud" solution located on my NAS. I also have a HTPC that runs Plex Media Server which gives me access to my media collection on the go. Think of it as a free personal Netflix service.

For local storage however, I also have a 64GB microSD card installed which I use to store downloads, local music and movies, software installers, and other documents.

SanDisk just released a 128GB microSD card if you're after more local storage options.

>3) I like watching video files from my laptop on my HDTV. Best way to do this? I used to just use an HDMI cable and VLC. Do I buy a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI converter? Any loss in quality? If anybody has one that they would recommend, I would appreciate it. Not sure if I only need a simple <$10 one or if those are cheap knockoffs that will break. Or just bypass it all and look into the Chromecast?

Yes, you'll need a miniDP to HDMI converter to use your TV as an external display. There is no loss in quality since it's just a digital to digital conversion. You can use a basic adapter like this or an all-in-one solution like this.

Chromecast IMO is shit as it's limited to screen casting on whats displayed inside of chrome. So unless all you need to cast is web based media, I suggest avoiding chromecast altogether. You'll be better off using a miracast device than wasting your money on chromecast.

EDIT: Using either miniDP or the Miracast solution is entirely up to you. It all depends on how much you want to spend, portability, and accessibility.

The miniDP solution will obviously cost less and will be more portable as it's just a simple cable that you can take around and plug-in to any HDMI receiver. The Miracast solution will be convenient in the fact that it's wireless, allowing you to cast what's on your SP2 to your TV without being tethered, however it's more of a hassle bringing it around if you travel a lot as it's more of a set it and forget it solution. Here's an example of Miracasting.

Alternative take using the best storage density currently available (http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-MicroSDXC-Memory-Adapter/dp/B00IIJ6W4S)

1 TB = 1024 GB (Bytes are usually grouped into sets of 2^10 or 1024 rather than the sets of 1000 implied by SI units) thus 8,388,608 TB = 8,589,934,592 GB

According to wikipedia a micro SD card is 15.0×11.0×1.0 mm or 1.65 10^-7 cubic meters

1.65
10^-7 cubic meters / 128 GB = 1.29 10 ^ -9 Cubic meters / Gigabyte

1.29
10 ^ -9 Cubic meters / Gigabyte * 8,589,934,592 Gigabytes = a measly 11.07 cubic meters to store all that data

However, high storage density comes with a steep price. Those 67,108,864 SD cards are going to cost a whopping $7,180,648,448 (7 billion dollars).

Class 10 only means 10 MB/s which really isn't that fast. When I reboot my files take maybe 15 seconds to appear on my homescreen. I use a Samsung pro which claims 90 MB/s speeds.

A very fast SD card would be the 64 GB Samsung Pro, if you can find it cheaper than Amazon is selling it right now (got mine for $60, don't know why it's $80+ now).

I don't, and I think there are better options.

One of the problems with going onto Reddit before I have my morning coffee is that my brain is only have half awake. The music, phone, video part registered in my brain, but the 4k part didn't (probably because my old phone can't even come close to that). Either of these two Samsung's would be better. The cheaper one has faster advertised write speeds.

>The Blackmagic Disk Speed Test also showed the new models running slower than the older models, with write/read speeds as follows (in MBps):

  • 2013 13-inch with 128GB SSD: 445/725
  • 2013 11-inch with 256GB SSD: 687/725
  • 2014 13-inch with 256GB SSD: 520/676
  • 2014 11-inch with 128GB SSD: 306/620

So 300 vs 520 MBps write, and 600ish read for both. It's the difference between stupidly fast and stupendously fast.

Honestly if you only got 128 GB you probably aren't doing anything that will stress the machine in the first place, and wouldn't notice the difference.

    > Is it possible to upgrade my SSD down the road from these guys?. This one article says it can be done. What do you guys think?

No, that part is for the 2011 Air. The SSD form has changed a few times in the Air, and an SSD that will work in a 2011 Air won't work in a 2014 Air. Looking at their SSD page they don't support 2013 or 2014 Airs.

You can email them and double-check.

If you just bought the computer, you can just return it and get a different model within 14 or 30 days (I forget which).

If not, then get something like this or this if you want additional (although not faster) storage.

Otherwise wait for a compatible storage to arrive, if it ever does.

Transcend makes some specialized SD cards for MacBooks for just such a purpose, but I've never used one.

u/BillyTheRatKing · 3 pointsr/photography

SD Cards

According to Canon's website, the t3i can record about 22 minutes to an 8GB SD card. So a 32GB card should be about 88 minutes.

When shopping for an SD card I would always suggest a name brand for reliability. For your specific camera, any card labeled SD/SDHC/SDXC should be compatible. For shooting 1080P video you want at least Class 10 speeds (the little C with a 10 in it). Faster cards are still backwards compatible.

I would suggest something like this SanDisk 32GB Class 10. And I'd probably buy a couple, you never want to be without a spare card!

Lighting

I'm no expert when it comes to video lighting, I only do photography, and even then I'm not an expert. But as a techie, before buying expensive lights, I would just try to use some LED light bulbs in those stands you already have as they're a standard lamp socket, to get more light and less heat.

Perhaps something like these 20W bulbs? You can try any bulb as long as it has an E26/E27 base is no more than 45 watts.

Something like these LED flood lights might work since they're directional, but they're probably too wide to fit with the umbrellas on.

Lenses

Getting that bokeh may be difficult. There are five factors that affect background blur, one of which is sensor size, obviously you're not going to buy a new camera, so the sensor size is a fixed value.

To get more background blur you need one or more of the following, a lower fstop on your lens, a higher focal length, to get as close to your subject as possible, and to get the background as far away as possible. So your desire for a wider lens is conflicting with your desire for background blur, and it sounds like space is an issue.

Additionally, since you have a crop sensor camera, lenses are really more zoomed (by 1.6x) in than they would be on a full frame sensor. So your kit lens, I assume goes down to 18mm? So on your camera that is more like 29mm (about the same as a smartphone camera).

I don't necessarily know if I would recommend a wide lens for your application since it will lead to less background blur and will exaggerate facial features when up close, as shown in this example. Although background blur may be impossible if you're in a cramped space anyhow. So if you're going to attempt a wide angle lens, the Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 looks like the best, most affordable option (I use Nikon gear myself, so I don't have personal experience), which is equivalent to a 16mm-29mm on your camera. However, that fstop number is higher than both your kit lens and 50mm, which means it lets in less light, which could be an issue.

Conclusion

Hopefully that information was useful and not too confusing. Feel free to ask for clarification if needed. Good luck!

Not on a USB stick, however you can use a cheap adapter to play games on a micro SD card instead of having to buy Sony's over priced junk.

This is the one I use. If you search amazon you can also find sets that include the adpater, a microsd card and a USB reader all in one for less than the cost of an 8gb memory duo.

u/dedsmed · 2 pointsr/PSP

Here's the way I ended up doing it:

I bought The adapter

and a 32gb card

That way down the road if I want to I can add another 32gb card to get 64gb of memory.

It's the same price (actually slightly cheaper) and you have future chance of upgrading to the max memory.

u/hungoverlord · 2 pointsr/PSP

this guide here got me going with my psp 2001. it gets you the most up to date custom firmware. from there, install emulators, homebrew, do whatever you want. i mostly use my psp for NES games and a few select psp ISOs.

oh, also i'd recommend grabbing one of these. i popped two 16gb microSDs in mine, and 32gb seems like JUST the right amount of space for the psp. 64 would be ridiculous, but still, i understand it will work with two 32gb microSDs.

u/SirSaltie · 2 pointsr/AskGames

I use a PSP and it works just fine once you crack it. Get yourself one of these and a couple micro SD cards, and you can reasonably hold 32 GB worth of games on the psp.

u/orphanitis · 2 pointsr/PSP

I'm pretty darn sure cutting a memory card down to size would just destroy it. You're going to need some kind of memory stick to put in there if you want to play downloaded games or install cfw. You can get a standard memory stick for the psp, or you can get the microsd to memory stick duo converter. Amazon link.

u/CaptInsane · 2 pointsr/photography

Thinking about getting a T3i body (have lenses). It's $624 on Amazon. But I don't have many/good SD cards. Was looking at the suggested ones on Amazon. Is this a good one, in terms of speed, etc? http://www.amazon.com/Transcend-Class-Flash-Memory-TS32GSDHC10E/dp/B003VNKNF0/ref=pd_bxgy_p_text_b

http://www.amazon.com/Transcend-Class-Flash-Memory-TS32GSDHC10E/dp/B003VNKNF0/ref=pd_bxgy_e_img_y

The F500L works well enough and is a highly popular choice. I only spent around $110 with shipping. Which I think is highly worthwhile investment. The only caveat is the power cable that came with it caused me a lot of radio interference. I got another power cable and it works much better now. It is a DC plug to mini usb so it was not hard to find a different replacement. (I am using one from a garmin gps, but I'm sure you could get one at bestbuy).

u/Jespy · 2 pointsr/3DS

Hori Screen Protectors - easy to apply and gives you the assurance of not scratching your screen.

Better Stylus - the one that comes with the 3ds is fine but I find getting a better stylus works wonders when playing a stylus heavy games. Rocketfish sells stylus similar to the ones that came with the dsi xl in packs of 2 and I think can still be found at bestbuy.

Carrying case - if you like bringing your 3ds around for streetpass then putting it in a carrying case and tossing it into a bag will prevent wear and damaged to the system itself. I'm currently using a Hori carrying case and I find it pretty handy and it can hold 3 games.

Bigger SD card - if you plan on downloading from the e-shop then a nice 32gb sd card is great.

Assist grip - coolclown makes a nice assist grip that I find really comfortable if you plan on using your 3ds for long periods of time.

Crystal clear case - some people don't like the extra bulk but I like them for protecting the outside of the 3ds. If you purchased a limited edition 3ds then a hori tpu casing doesn't add too much bulk and protects your handheld.

u/eeyore134 · 2 pointsr/3DS

The card that comes in your 3DS is a speed class 10 (the higher the number, the faster the data transfer). I got this one from Amazon in the mail just yesterday and it is working just fine. Seems to have gone up a tad in price since I got it, but it's also only $25 for a Class 10 32GB card. You can find cheaper but I know Transcend works so I went for that one.

All I did to get it to work was pop my old one into my computer with one of these and copy the files into a folder. I put the new card into my computer, copied the files from the folder to the new card, put it in my 3DS and it worked just like it did before with all my downloads intact.

If you want 64GB look through the ones they offer that are Class 10 and go for the cheaper options. It's silly to pay a ton of money for a memory card if you don't have to.

u/jmburni · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

The head strap ontop of goggles isn't a fun choice while snorkeling. It doesn't come down far enough with the goggles in the way to really stay on tight. It also feels uncomfortable have all that pressure on your head. When I went we used our XShot 2.0 pole and it turned out great. Just wash the pole and case with fresh water and dry after snorkeling. There are better options but for your first time out I'd say start small and buy more if you think you need it the second time out.

You wont need a red filter but you'll see improvements however I cant think of any manufacturers who have on for the Hero3+ case.

You could also get the Bobber mount so it'll never sink.

Also this is there SD cards I use

u/squidthesid · 2 pointsr/vita

The Nyko Power grip is an amazing piece of technology. It's a shame that it's so bulky, since it's hard to carry around, but damn, doe it make the Vita a joy to hold. My battery is broken, so it's just a grip right now, but I love the thing.

39.99 USD is a price point I'm more than willing to pay. Anything more, and I'd be hesitant, but the Vita has budget priced games. Plus, I can just resell the games on Amazon when I finish them up, so I don't incur that big of a price to play the game.

Memory cards are a ripoff, there's no getting around that. Even though I got a 16 GB card for 30 USD at Best Buy, it's still a ripoff, considering how a 32 GB MicroSD card is 25 USD on Amazon, but it's tolerable at that price. I still don't get what Son'y trying to do with its memory card pricing, since they're not selling the damn things, so a price cut is drastically needed on that.

The upgrade from i3 to i5 is minimum $200.

So you can get:

i5 with 128GB = $1000

OR you can get a 64GB SD card with the i3 model, thus having the same amount of storage as the i5 model, for $840.

With Retina MacBooks, upgrading the RAM/SSD is not as straight forward as with the non-retina MacBook Pro.Currently, you can change your SSD using drives from this company (https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/ssd/owc/macbook-pro-retina-display/2013-2014-2015), but i'm not entirely sure, it confuses me!

I got the Retina MacBook Pro i5 (like in the listing) but I upgraded the RAM when I was buying to 16 GB RAM, as for my uses it was recommended I would need more RAM than an i7. I didn't bother with the SSD upgrade as I've previously bought these (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Transcend-JetDrive-Lite-Storage-Expansion/dp/B00K73NT0S) for my MacBook Air. As I store pretty much all of my things in Google Drive/DropBox etc, I use a Transcend JetDrive to store the physical folders (if that makes sense?), so then my main storage is only taken up by programs I install

£650 seems quite decent, considering they are +£999 brand new. I would double check the model number (EMC, found on the underneath of a MacBook Pro) with the seller

u/RobertJP · 2 pointsr/apple

As far as I can tell there are two manufactures that have 128gb sd cards that sit flush or nearly flush so you can keep them in. There is the Transcend JetDrive Lite and the PNY StorEDGE which I have. It seems the PNY is more than when I bought it in February for 80 or so. I've had no problems with it so far though.

I've been surviving with 128 GB no problem. I use Google Drive and Box for all of my file storage needs. I'll download anything that I need and then delete it later. Though, if you are working with a lot of media files, you may want to upgrade to a larger drive.

u/cbass717 · 2 pointsr/mac

It depends on the uses. I got the 128gb rMBP and its fine for me. I pay for Google Music All Access so no music is ever stored on my computer as I stream. Transcend also makes this cool external ssd that is flush with the device. That said if OP does a lot of photo/video edit then maybe opt for the bigger SSD. But depending on his uses you can make the 128gb work really well if you are conservative with it.

I have a 128GB Jet Drive in my 2011 256GB MacBook Air. Seems to work great. I have all my home video on it and Backblaze is backing both my regular SSD and the Jet Drive because it is always mounted. Music and Photos on the SSD and the home video on the Jet Drive. I wanted to be sure they all the music was in one place only, all the photos are in one place only, and all the video was in one place only for organization purposes. Seems to be working great. Backblaze backs up anything new each time I open my laptop and am connected to the internet and I also occasionally do a backup to an regular external drive. I want to buy an external SSD though because these regular ones seems to be acting funny after a few years. Which is to be expected I guess. But, I would like something a little less failure prone.

  • Samsung S7 32GB: $672 + tax
  • 128GB MicroSD card (48MB/s): $40 + tax
  • Total space: 160GB
  • Total cost: $720 + tax

    vs

  • Nexus 6P 128GB: $649 + tax

Needing more than 128GB of media on your person at all times is a niche use case, but even for people who do - OTG flash drives exist to allow people to supplement their storage space to watch movies/TV shows while traveling or whatever without requiring them to purchase a phone that has a microSD card slot. Considering restrictions on adoptable storage and 'move to SD' functionality, it is better to have a large pool of main storage instead of being forced to rely on a microSD card right out of the gate due to an anemic amount of internal storage.

there's a sale on samsung cards on amazon

u/DetEndeloseSvart · 2 pointsr/gadgets

I'd bet twenty bucks that card is counterfeit as shit. Look up the 128GB version of that card on Amazon and compare the pictures.

  • The "256" and the "EVO" on the eBay card are in a slightly different typeface than the 128 card.
  • The top of the "128" is aligned with the top of the "EVO" text, but the "256" is smaller and just kind of splatted on there.
  • The 128 and below come with SD adapters, the 256 doesn't?
  • The 256 doesn't list the capacity on the hang tag at all? Even the 32GB announces the capacity in a gigantic Helvetica Neue-esque. 256GB would be a Big Damn Deal™, you better believe they'd not be subtle about it. Maybe even Helvetica Neue Bold.
  • The 256GB card is the same price as the 128GB? Considering the price differential between 64GB (~$35) and 128GB (~$100), that price, or anything near it, fucks the curve right to hell.

Unfortunately, counterfiet SD cards and USB thumb drives are a thing now. They'll show up to your OS/camera/device as the size stated on the tin, but if you try to put that much data on there, stuff just gets overwritten. It sucks. The card in the auction may not even be 128GB. Could be four.

Edit: Wanna start your own counterfeit ring? Here you go. Look at that thing. Not even close. The Samsung logo isn't even quite properly formed or kerned.

It would be about $107 cheaper for the samsung listed here or $100 cheaper for the Sandisk. So about $100 for 128 GB instead of double that, plus 32GB onboard. http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-128GB-Adapter-MB-MP128DA-AM/dp/B00P3NMVVU/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1427386463&sr=1-2&keywords=128gb+micro+sd+card

Very hard to tell.

Ask if you can put a file to test if it's actually 128gb, and preload a 64+GB file onto a hdd/flash drive, then transfer it there with him.

And maybe try use diskpart to clear and format with him watching.

I've had similar issues with microSDs corrupting themselves. So far I've had the best luck with a Samsung EVO 128GB. It's been in my 650 since October 2016 and I haven't had any issues with corrupting disks since I replaced it with that one.

u/fryfrog · 2 pointsr/3dshacks

I've used these 128G Samsung [Evo Select] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DOB6YW4/), [Evo] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P3NMVVU/) and [Evo+] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XJKL1ME/). The only catch is that Windows 10 (and probably 8.1?) won't format anything over 32G as FAT32, so you'll need a 3rd party utility to do that.

u/deramirez92 · 2 pointsr/theNvidiaShield

I bought several [PNY 128GB High Speed MicroDXXC Memory Cards] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00W77C1W4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_UsTsybE8JRN7C) that were on post Christmas sale ($19.99) last year. I used them on all of my devices either with adapters or without as needed per device. I neither have had issue with inadequate or degraded video play speed nor with temperature issues. Works great installed loaded with owned media in a Kingston MobileLite where Internet is not available or when you wish to save on data usage. Bought one to test and then ended up buying 12 more while still on sale. Wish they would go back on sale. Perhaps after the holidays. Memory storage devices seem to go on deep discount sale in the beginning of each year.

I bought a 128 gig back in June of 2010, for 40 bucks, and it has been working fine for me.

> how well do these cameras stand up to heat?

I got the one with the battery inside and haven't had any issues yet. The heat made the double sided tape weak enough to make it fall down and hang from the wire. It happened 3 times before I ended up buying a [suction cup mount for about 6 bucks.] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N07VKIK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) It has only fallen down once since I installed the suction cup, but that could be because I didn't add the tiny moisture in the suction cup.

u/GreenNinja7 · 2 pointsr/ipod

Get the CompactFlash adapter that was recommended ($7), but instead of a CompactFlash card, get an CF to SD adapter like this ($7.50). Then, just get an SD card of the capacity you want, for example a [16GB] (https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-Class-Memory-SDSDUNC-032G-GN6IN/dp/B0143RT8OY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1523574332&sr=8-3&keywords=sd+card+32gb&dpID=51cpb2WLteL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch) ($13). Plus the tools ($2). You will be spending $30 at most, being the actual SD card the most expensive item, and the procedure is not that difficult. If you happen to have an SD card lying around from an old phone or camera, so you could even do this for $17.

u/hallflukai · 2 pointsr/canon

Nothing I can think of, it's always worked fine at 1080p 30fps, I even tried resetting my camera settings to make sure it wasn't some obscure settings I forgot about.

I benchmarked the two cards I have on my person right now, This Class 10 Sandisk and This Class 4 Sandisk.

I tested both with a program called USBDeview. The Class 10 card clocked in at 12.65 MB/Sec, and the Class 4 card at 15.51 MB/s. So it looks like you're right and my dumb ass was wrong. Interestingly though, there's obviously a discrepancy between megabits and megabytes but even so, if USBDeview was in megabits the Class 10 should be 80Mb/s and the class 4 should be 32 Mb/s. If it's supposed to be in megabytes the Class 10 should be 10 MB/s and the Class 4 at 4 MB/s. So it seems like both cards aren't in good shape.

I was shooting video yesterday and got a similar issue happening on a friend's SD card (same as my Sandisk class 10) as well though. Maybe something's up with the camera body that's messing up cards?

I didn't know Sandisk had a warranty! I'm going to file a warranty claim and hopefully get a new card out of the deal. If that card shows the same issue then there's something real funky going on.

I was thinking of giving you gold for putting up with me being a dickhead but I know some people would rather that money go to charity. Is there a charity you'd like me to contribute to in your (user)name?

That seems like a bad deal to me, I'd personally go with the Canon Refurbished T6i w/2-lens kit which is only $560, a major savings plus you get the same 1yr Canon warranty as if you'd purchased new. I've purchased through Canon Refurbished in the past and the lens I got works flawlessly and was in absolutely pristine condition, the only reason I would have known it wasn't new was the box it came in.

Snag a 32GB Sandisk Ultra (reputable company, fast card) for $14 and then buy other accessories as you need them. Boom, you saved nearly $250.

More pics (SB2 / SP3 / XPS 15): https://imgur.com/a/BlKaKud

I have a pretty beefy little (<11L) SFF desktop for heavy stuff at home (Ryzen 7, GTX 1080 Ti). For mobile use, I've had a Surface Pro 3 (i5-4300U / 8 GB / 256 GB SSD) since launch (4.5 years) and a Dell XPS 15 9530 Touch (i7-4702HQ / 16 GB / 1 TB SSD / GT 750M) for about 5 years.

I've been really happy with the SP3 - overall one of the best PCs I've ever owned - and it's still good enough for mobile use. The XPS 15 is still competent enough for most things I throw at it, but I realized I wanted a VR-capable laptop, to be able to travel with my Samsung Odyssey HMD. The XPS 15's GT 750M is... not quite ideal for VR.

VR meant I'd need something with at least a GTX 1060 - but after spending some time with various gaming laptops, I couldn't live with the lack of a touchscreen, poor display, poor keyboard and/or touchpad, abysmal battery life, poor design, and thick, heavy body that plague most of those. The only two "civilized" options were the Razer Blade 15 and the Surface Book 2 15. The Razer has a stronger CPU and available GPUs (and non-Marvell Avastar WiFi), but the keyboard is subpar, and I'm not sure I trust their quality.

So I decided to look for a Surface Book 2 15, hoping it could replace both the XPS 15 and SP3. Only issue was I needed at least 1 TB storage (based on what I used in the XPS 15), and given the impossibility of upgrading the SB2 SSD, I'd need the stratospherically priced top variant.

After scouring Craigslist for a while, I eventually managed to negotiate a pretty decent deal -- brand new, sealed SB 2 15 / 16 GB / 1 TB for $1,700. Then I went over to the MS Store to add MS Complete, so all in, a bit under $2,000 total.

So far quite happy with this. The screen is incredible, keyboard is great, performance is solid all around, and battery life is very impressive.

Not quite sure about the tablet use case yet. The clipboard is quite light, but it's of course large for a tablet - will have to see if I'm comfortable doing sofa reading on this. I've tried a bit of VR on it so far - will have to spend some time tweaking performance settings to optimize things with the Odyssey (on my Ryzen / 1080 Ti desktop, that's not a concern- just slide everything to max!).

Might add another 512 GB storage at some point if I get a good deal on the newish Samsung 512 GB MicroSD card (only the Amazon-exclusive Evo Select branded version seems to have launched in the US thus far; currently still $200 on Amazon, or gray-market import of the Evo Plus for $150).

u/Lorben · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

The Switch's read speed tops out at 100MB/s and read speed is irrelevant to performance. So the Extreme cards provide no benefit for the extra money you're spending. You would want to go for larger capacity.

A Sandisk Ultra or Samsung Evo Select are usually the best option. The Samsung has higher capacity at a lower price at 512GB, the Sandisk is less expensive for any smaller size.

There will likely be some black Friday deals on SD cards.

I just bought the Switch this month. I plan to mostly do local multiplayer (couch co-op), so accessories are essential to me. Also, the primary reason for my finally buying my first video game console is for motion-control games, so I expect to spend a lot on accessories. I would like to point out that I get to save quite a bit because I plan to only play in docked mode, which means I don't have to buy grips and power banks, for example.

Based on the breakdown below, my total amount to spend on Switch accessories this month is US$600.71 plus sales tax. That comes out to be $900.70 if you include the console itself.

  • I bought the system for $349.99, which comes with a carrying case and screen protector. I guess you can say the two accessories cost $50
  • I bought a Samsung 512GB 100MB/s (U3) MicroSDXC Evo Select Memory Card for $77.99
  • I will be buying 3 more sets of the Joy-Cons at ~$66.99 for a total of $200.97
  • I will be buy 2x Pro Controllers, which are ~$62.99 each for a total of $125.98
  • I bought the Ring Fit Adventure, which consists of the game, Ring-Con, and Leg Strap for $79.99; for the sake of estimation, the Ring-Con and Leg Strap are ~$40
  • I will be buying the Insignia Joy-Con Charging Station for Nintendo Switch for $19.99
  • I will be buying the Insignia Charging Station Dock for Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers for $9.99
  • I will be buying the Insignia Dock Kit for $29.99
  • I will be buying a set of 2 rackets to play Mario Tennis Aces for ~$20
  • I am still on the fence about buying Mario Kart 8; if I do, I'll be buying a set of 2 steering wheels for $12.90 each at a total of $25.80

U3 rated cards supposedly are, and many of them that are designed to handle the throughput will have an additional V-rating on them. So for example, a card rated U3-V30 promises it can handle sustained write speeds of 30Mbps, which is (typically) fast enough for 4K video. The current highest rating is V90, which would even handle 8k video with no problems. but you'll also note that you pay a premium for those extra speeds.

All that said, a signal chain is only as fast as its slowest link, so if the camera can't save the video fast enough due to some other bottleneck, a fast card may still not give you the performance you're hoping for.

Transcend high endurance is what you want. You will void the warranty on Sandisks for using them in a dashcam.

MLC or multi layer cell has two bits of data storage per physical cell. TLC has three per cell. TLC is more dense and therefore cheaper to produce but it can not handle being constantly written to for hours on end.

Haha no way I got the A119S too with the gps module that records your location and speed. It records audio very well too.
I bought it last August, worked fine in the winter when it was super cold out because it doesn't use a battery.

For storage I got a Transcend 32GB High Endurance microSD card. From the little research I did they cost a little more than a normal SD card but are better for dash cams and such.

I'm satisfied with the purchase myself for $158 total it was a very fair price and the quality is good enough at 1080 60fps, wide enough to see drivers next to you, catches enough light at night or during snow/rainstorms to see license plates I have no complaints. A couple weeks ago I narrowed SD card options down to the Samsung 256GB 95MB/s MicroSDXC EVO Select. Looks overall pretty solid to me. A little pricey, but if it's me, I would pay a little more to make sure I get something actually good.

And, here is a helpful review to help spot fake Samsung SD cards.

I keep seeing these numbers but they are totally wrong.

Micro SD Card - ~$150

Gear VR - New one with remote is not for sale yet, but given they are giving them away to all pre-orders, market value will be much lower than $129.

u/downshiftnow · 2 pointsr/Surface

Read speed wise, most microSD cards are comparable so if that's your only concern, the 200gb SanDisk Ultra is your best bet. If you care at all about write speed, you should look elsewhere. Also, be wary of UHS-II spec cards that claim 150mbps read speed (along with a laughable 20mbps write) that require an adapter to achieve such speeds such as this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U77V5KU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ep_dp_5BxzybEV9MBMT

If you're looking for the best microSD hands down, it's the Samsung 256gb EVO+. MSRP is $249 and Amazon has it for $139. Quite the bargain. A ton are in the wild considering that many people such as myself chose this as the freebie for purchasing a Note7 (or S7/S7 edge). https://smile.amazon.com/Samsung-256GB-EVO-UHS-I-microSDXC/dp/B01JNGCWHU/ref=sr_1_6?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1483139819&sr=1-6&keywords=evo%2B+256

If you're looking to spend a bit less and can do with half the storage, the Samsung 128gb PRO Select is your next best bet. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01DOB6YUQ?ref=emc_b_5_t

Both of those cards are rated at 90mbps write and read with real life usage hitting within a couple mbps of that.

It's a UHS 1 class 3. So the fastest you can go before the brand new UHS 3, which our SB2's do support BTW. But the BaseQi does NOT support UHS 3 at this time so there no reason to spending way more. UHS 1 class 3 is the max with the BaseQi.

I play Skyrim SE with maybe 20 mods, rocket league, GTA 5, Overwatch, and a few more random indie games. I really can't tell the load times are any lower unless I'm really trying to pay attention. They all load maybe 2-3 seconds slower, except for GTA 5 but that takes forever to load on anything.

Honestly for how many people say how bad it is, I'm not seeing it. I mean yeah it's slower than an SSD obviously but it's still way faster than a HDD.

Btw, I have done some testing with Atto disk benchmark. The EVO+ 256MB is faster than my Samsung PRO 64MB card. EVO+ writes at ~89MB/s, compared to 79MB/s for the PRO card. Both are UHS 3

u/ListenBeforeSpeaking · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I have a Samsung 256 GB EVO Plus Card, formatted with the Official SDXC Formatting Utility from the SD Association (SPEC owners).

The SD card formatting tool is recommended by Nintendo and I believe it to be more robust than the Switch itself for large capacity cards (based on forum and reddit posts).

Note: I would not buy any Samsung SD cards unless they are purchased directly through a 1st party retailer (Amazon:Sold by Amazon, Best Buy, Staples, Walmart:Sold by Walmart, Sams Club, Costco, etc). There are very good (in resemblance) fakes on the market.

u/tiradium · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS9

There's actually a few different models of the A119, see this link for a comparison: https://support.viofo.com/support/solutions/articles/19000083285-the-difference-between-a119-a119s-and-a119-pro

The main difference is that the A119S model has a better sensor for night time, otherwise the A119/Pro are both solid choices.

I went with the A129 only because it can output 1920 x 1080P for both the front and rear cams.
You can check the specs for the A129 here: https://www.viofo.com/home/79-72-a129-duo-dual-channel-5ghz-wi-fi-full-hd-dash-camera.html

The only thing with Viofo dash cams is that the mobile app is a bit odd. I can only get the live view (on iOS - can't speak for Android) to work when I am connected to a VPN connection for some reason. I have been e-mailing support about this and it would appear they are working on this problem, but I've not heard anything back form them in some time. For playback though the app works fine.

Hope this helps!

Edit: You should also get a good quality SD card. These ones are made for high-endurance applications like dash cams: https://www.amazon.ca/Transcend-Information-Endurance-microSD-TS32GUSDHC10V/dp/B01BDKTQY6/ref=pd_sbs_147_5/147-1825319-3019317?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01BDKTQY6&pd_rd_r=78ff2d67-5d65-11e9-a945-818b360be682&pd_rd_w=0cTMY&pd_rd_wg=NccmY&pf_rd_p=5dcda75b-8643-4da3-9bb1-5c0233790500&pf_rd_r=TSW2VXJM7GXD357FVRPG&psc=1&refRID=TSW2VXJM7GXD357FVRPG

There's going to be a lot of handwaving in this calculation, but the number is going to be huge no matter what. You can currently buy data at about 256 Gigabytes per gram on Amazon.

The solar system, from a mass perspective, may as well just be the sun. Which ends up being about 2x10^30 kg. Assuming you spend about half the energy just converting the mass into microSD cards, we are talking about 10^34 microSD cards. Which is 2.5610^36 Gigabytes

There's no great way to put this number in perspective. The closest I can come is that the NSA Utah Data Center is designed to store data on the order of
ExaBytes. In those terms, the Solar system could be made into 2.56
10^27 NSA Datacenters
worth of microSD cards. All data ever stored digitally was estimated at 295 Exabytes in 2011. Even if we pad that up to 1000 by 2017, we are still looking at 10^24 times more data than has ever been stored by humans.

But at least there's a small way to appreciate that number without understanding it. 10^24 happens to be the weight of the earth in kilograms. So if you can imagine just how massive the entire planet is, how many shovelfuls it would take to dig away the entire Earth, you're starting to understand just how much data we are talking about.

TL;DR: *2.5610^36 Gigabytes** worth of microSD cards. =)

It'll come down in price further. This SanDisk card was literally the first Google search result, and has free 2 day shipping from Amazon Prime, for $140. I think 256GB will be <$100 by next spring. Granted if you just want memory now, that Samsung card is probably the way to go.

u/habscupchamps · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Its currently $223.37 in Canada. So with that discount it would be around $80 off. 200GB cost around $100 so even if 256gb went on sale for $143 (after $80 off) , I'm not sure if that's worth it.

>And you've got to start carrying around multiple micro sd cards. I eagerly anticipate the day I lose those.

  1. You're not going to lose your MicroSD cards if you keep them in a case, like this.
  2. With the average size of Switch games, I doubt most people are going to be needing more than 128 GB storage over the life of the console, anyway. In fact, assuming that most people will buy physical cartridges for retail games, storage space is then mainly only used for DLC and indie titles on the eShop.
  3. I'm just trying to suggest a way to save money. If you want to pay $150 for a 256 GB, by all means. Nothing's stopping you.

Just bought a Vita and need to pick a SD card for the v5 SD2VITA adapter.

At this point the choices pretty much boiled down to a 128 GB card from either Samsung or Sandisk for ~20€, a 200 GB Sandisk for 27€ or a 256GB Transcend card for 34€.

Figures alone would make the Transcend the obvious choice, but I haven't used their products yet and I'm kinda vary of Chinese brands. I also don't know much storage is reasonable, I intend to install Vita, PSX and PSP games.

I would strongly, strongly recommend you have one. You can get by without one, but given the pressure you'll be under the last thing you need is to worry about this as well. Your iPad Air might suffice though, particularly if you have a wireless keyboard for it (Logitech generally have good ones) but in order for a tablet to be the best it can be it needs to support the Apple Pen and I suspect yours doesn't.

You can get a decent laptop for like £300 or less. HP is currently selling their HP Stream 14-cm0038na for £199 (and includes 1 year of Office 365 and 1TB OneDrive storage) which is a good deal. It's not particularly powerful (4GB RAM, and only 32GB eMMC storage but it has an SD/Micro Sd storage slot, and you can get a 256GB MicroSD for £37.98 on Amazon) but you'll be able to browse the web, write papers etc. on it. Or with the Apple Student Discount you could get a new iPad Air for £454.80 (£55.00 AppleCare+, £80.40 for the Pencil)

The main downside of not having your own is you'll be relying on access to the public ones at the university library, and particularly during exam seasons that's very far from guaranteed. Plus in general it's just really useful to have one - there's all sorts of barrier you might come up against with an iPad, especially if the public library ones are in use.

I recommend a genuine Samsung card. Both my girlfriend and I have used SanDisk cards in the past and in both cases, the card eventually became corrupt and lost write ability. It started to give me weird error messages, seemed to start eating battery, and then I lost several pictures because it could no longer write to the phone. I don't think they play well with Samsung. Since we started using Samsung, no problems.

I currently have the 256gb card that was part of a promo with the s8. I believe it's this one:

For affiliate links on amazon, "ref=" is the start of the affiliate link, so it and everything after it is useless.

And you can delete "ref=psdc_3015433011_t1_B06XFHQGB9"

Back to the matter at hand, I wouldnt recommend the one via the link due to it not being sold by Samsung or Amazon. Amazon is rife with fakes and knock off cards so you want to avoid third party sellers whenever possible.

This Samsung EVO Select card is the same capacity and transfer speeds but has a lower minimum write speed, which isnt a huge issue because youre just using it with the Switch and not 4k video or intensive files.

Also, its sold directly from Amazon so you have the best possible recourse if it dosent work as intended.

So not buy a brand other than SanDisk or Samsung.

Try to get a U3 card, not U1, better loading times.

Any Samsung Evo card will, they’re usually cheaper that the SanDisk.

Check this one out:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Mobile-UK-MicroSD-Adapter/dp/B06XFS5657/ref=mp_s_a_1_15?keywords=micro+sd+card+400&qid=1573362651&sr=8-15

I started with a64gb then got a 200Gb and now am getting a 512Gb during Black Friday. I think you shouldn’t get anything less than 256gb.

Hey thanks for the reply, here are the cards I've tried:

Integral 256GB microSDXC upto 100MB/s V30 UHS-I U3

Samsung 128GB EVO Plus MicroSDXC UHS-I Grade 1 Class 10

Samsung Mobile 256GB 95MB/s Class 10 U3

My original card was the 128, and then I upgraded earlier this year to the Integral 256. However, I noticed things loading MUCH slower than before (although I'm starting to think it was just a placebo...). Having formatted my 128 one I have gone back and redownloaded Smash but it's just as slow... this is why I'm wondering if it's something I've done to my Switch (or I've just forgotten that Smash was always slow to load)

I don't plan on using it in any devices other than my phone. I'll be downloading a lot of games, movies, and apps. Apps and games don't always like being moved to SD cards.

This is the microSD card I'm looking to get. It seems to be a great card from what I can see. Not the best speed wise, but pretty darn good: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-128GB-Extreme-microSD-Adapter/dp/B07FCMKK5X/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=128gb+micro+sd+card&qid=1562706167&s=gateway&sprefix=128&sr=8-5

This (and a small socket wrench) was literally all I needed:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PVB5L82/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00

It has adapters for most dashcams, and the included wire is thin and long enough to tuck above the windshield and down the left pillar, away from the airbags, then towards the door.

If you open your driver door and look at the side of the dash, you'll see the cover you need to pop off. Use the little spudger that comes with the kit, and it comes right off (pops back in easily later).

Take out the small drawer next to the steering wheel by opening it, squeezing the sides, then pulling. Voila, fusebox. Thread the wire through the opening in the side and into the fusebox area.

There is a yellow 20amp fuse that is linked to the 12v accessories (cigarette lighter, etc). I pulled this one out, plugged in the piggyback fuse from the kit, and put the yellow fuse into the piggyback (the kit comes with instructions on this).

In this pic, it's the yellow 20amp fuse in the lower right:

https://cdn.instructables.com/F2N/7LVH/IHP9001J/F2N7LVHIHP9001J.LARGE.jpg

Ater doing the piggback, you just need to connect the ground. There are some hex bolts nearby, just unscrew one and attach the ground cable, then tie up the rest of the wire and tuck it away. Pop the cover back on, and you are good!

Another tip, you might want to get a heat-resistant memory card if you live somewhere warm. I got one like this: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-128GB-Extreme-microSD-Adapter/dp/B07FCMKK5X/

Is it a regular SanDisk micro SD card? If so you should consider a faster card like the SanDisk Extreme:

"4K UHD Ready

With UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) and Video Speed Class 30 (V30) ratings (3), the SanDisk Extreme microSDXC UHS-3 Card lets you capture uninterrupted 4K UHD and Full HD video (4). This makes it ideal for recording outdoor adventures, weekend trips, or sporting events without skipping frames."

I'm assuming your card is UHS Speed Class 1 (U1) and Video Speed Class 10 (V10), which are the lower levels common on garden variety SanDisk cards. Here's the type I'm talking about on Amazon:

SanDisk 128GB Extreme microSDXC UHS-I Memory Card with Adapter - C10, U3, V30, 4K, A2, Micro SD - SDSQXA1-128G-GN6MA https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FCMKK5X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_x-bDDbBWP4Z6J

I recently found my old PSP 2001 and am running the latest CFW.

I'm using this exact adapter:
https://www.amazon.com/Funturbo-MagicGate-Playstation-Portable-Handycam/dp/B07F68FCHD/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1549954935&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=sony+memory+stick+pro+duo+to+micro+sd&psc=1

Along with a 128GB SanDisk Extreme:
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-128GB-Extreme-microSD-Adapter/dp/B07FCMKK5X/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1549955208&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=SanDisk+128gb&dpPl=1&dpID=41Ob2mex0pL&ref=plSrch

Both have been working flawlessly for me with about 50GBs of ISOs so far and a handful of PSX games.

The only way I transfer data to it is direct. Power off the PSP completely -> remove adapter -> pull card -> insert in decent quality microSD card reader.

MiniUSB works but it's SO SLOW. About 5MBps versus 35MBps.

u/Techiverse · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

I don't think so. The red switch branded version is a U3 rated microsd card so it's probably more akin to the Sandisk 128GB Extreme, just without the A2 cert

This switch branded version also has a lifetime warranty (similar to the Sandisk Extreme)

My AT&T S9 was upgraded to Androrid Pie two weeks ago. Last week I was on a business trip and took over 500 images while away. Out all of those images, these four were randomly mixed throughout. They are at different times, and even different orientations, but all the exact same file size, so I know there is no chance of recovery. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Since upgrading to Pie I feel like the camera is very laggy, I often would push the shutter button several times until it seemed like it would actually take the picture. I also recall once where I took a picture from the lock screen and it showed the preview in the little circle, but when I tapped it to bring it up full size, it gave me a Toast notification that said something about no pictures have been taken, even though I could see the thumbnail. When I went to the gallery, it was not there, not even a green image in its place. Could this be a bug with the Android Pie update, or an issue with my recently purchased SD card?

u/TheDopeGodfather · 1 pointr/gopro

Make sure you're using an SD Card that is on their list of approved models. I was having trouble with my H7B freezing, not turning on, and difficulty transferring media, but I had a very high quality SD card so I didn't think that was the issue. Finally dropped some money on a card that was on their list, and now my camera works perfectly. This is the one I got. For $25 bucks it's a pretty cheap way to figure out if that's your problem.

u/jdowney83 · 1 pointr/gopro

Will I notice much difference between these two cards:

Sandisk Extreme A2 - 128gb, This one is on the list

This one is not on the list, but has worked okay in my gopro hero 6

u/similar_observation · 1 pointr/Dashcam

I got everything for a DR590W-2CH through Amazon. The seller was coincidentally blackboxmycar, which is a popular dash cam retailer. If you buy the 2CH kit, then add a PMP if you really want it. Separately, you save about $4.

None of the higher capacity storage kits are worth the money.

Buy the cheapest set that comes with a 16gb SD card and simply pick up a Samsung Evo. For the $100 difference it takes to get the Blackvue 128gb, you can buy a 512gb Samsung SD card.

u/ChefBoyAreWeFucked · 1 pointr/PSP

I'm using a Transcend 32GB Class 10; I was using a 16GB class 6 before (same brand). I've tried setting the shutter speed as high as the camera goes (1/4000) and it's still the same speed.

Any troubleshooting suggestions?

u/DesignNomad · 1 pointr/gopro

I realize I am a impossibly small sample size, but I haven't had any speed issues with the adapter. I've used them to use my MicroSD cards in my older GoPro cameras, as well as shooting full HD video with my Sony NEX-5R without problems.

I've also been using this card and this card (both class 10) in my Hero2 for years without a single issue.

You could always buy it on amazon, test it out on some sport jumps, and then decide if you can rely on it. If not, send it back to amazon... they have a nice enough return policy that it won't cost you anything.

All class 10 SD cards are sufficient for RAW pictures, and if you don't need to shoot in sustained burst mode and don't shoot video, you could get away with class 4/5 as well.

http://www.amazon.com/Transcend-Class-Flash-Memory-TS32GSDHC10E/dp/B003VNKNF0/ is kind of the standard basic memory I recommend everyone get.

And if you can get through 16gb in a day, frankly I recommend shooting less / more carefully, if you're traveling / not on assignment. That's roughly 800 20 MB photos per day; even taking two shots of everything remotely worth taking a picture of, how or why do you do that? Can you walk us through what you're shooting?

****Do any of this at your own risk or hire a professional to do it for you.***

Here are the parts I ordered to put mine together. I'm posting this bc of PMs.

Mobius or [Cheaper Mobius but longer wait from China] (http://www.banggood.com/Mobius-Action-Camera-1080P-HD-Mini-Sports-Camera-Wide-Angle-Edition-p-917817.html) I wanted the Wide Angle Lens for a better shot

Capacitor You don't want the battery sitting in the sun. A capacitor can handle it. So you replace the battery completely with this capacitor

Windshield Mount My mobius came with a mounting bracket that fits on this mount. The mount itself is very small, but the 3M sticker is very strong.

Hardwire Kit When hard wiring this in to the car via fuse box, this knocks the voltage down from 12v to 5v, which is what the camera needs. I used some wire strippers to expose about 5" of the red and black cables. Then stripped about an inch off each cable to expose the actual wire. The red wire goes in to the add-a-circuit mentioned below, then you crimp it closed with pliers (wasn't super easy, I must be weak). You partially unscrew a metal bolt that is attached to the metal car frame as a ground ( I used the one on top of my fuse box).

USB to Mini-USB This connects from the hardwire kit to the camera or 90 degree elbow mentioned next, for a better angle. If you are setting up the auto record when external power is on, which is what you want to do for a dash cam, you need to cut a piece of electrical tape width-wise and cover the two middle pins inside the USB cable. This is because the two middle pins (2 and 3) are data pins. Leaving those exposed makes the camera think its connected to a computer and will only do data transferring. By covering them, it only get power from pins 1 and 4 and doesn't think it's connected to a computer and will actually record.

Right Angle Mini-USB to Mini-USB Adapted This just helped keep the USB cable from sticking out too much (better angle)

Add-a-circuit This is the ATO (bigger fuse), but I ended up using the ATM (Mini) because my car has both and the fuse I wanted to use ended up being a Mini. It'd be best to look through your fuse diagram and find something non-vital (meaning don't tap in to a fuse that controls ABS or airbags, etc) and switchable (meaning it only comes on when the car turns on. You don't want the camera running 24/7), figure out what type of fuse it is, and buy that size. I ended up getting my new add-a-circuit (Littlefuse) from Oreilly auto parts for $6.99 and it came with 3, 4, 7.5, and 10A fuses. Also take note of the amperage (Never use a higher amp fuse than your add-a-circuit supports because the wire gauge may not support it and melt/burn. When adding the circuit, I removed the original fuse from the fuse box, a 10A fuse and put it the first slot(my add-a-circuit supports up to 10A) and for the 2nd slot, I used a 3A fuse because the camera and radar don't draw much. You don't want to use a higher amp fuse than necessary. Also, in my car 2011 JettaSportwagen, the add-a-circuit points down or it doesn't work. Make sure it's plugged in the correct direction or it won't do anything

32GB MicroSD Card Works fine, just make sure to format it through the camera.

Unofficial but awesome Mobius Configuration Tool Use the tooltips(hover over each option) to figure out what each things does. I set mine to autorecord when external power or the button are pushed.

You can find a lot of info here: dashcamtalk.com

To summarize the connections are:

Choose a fuse from your car's fuse diagram (non-essential and switchable), pull it, place it in the correct slot of the add-a-circuit (don't go to higher amps than is supported), plug in a fuse from the add-a-circuit kit in to the other slot to protect your camera (I used a 3A), strip the hardwire kit's cables mentioned above, put the red cable (+) from the hard wire kit in the the red end of the add-a-circuit and crimp it closed, attach the black cable (-) to a screw attached to the metal car frame, tape the two middle pins (2 and 3) in the USB cable with electrical tape, plug the USB in to the female USB on the hardwire kit, run the USB cable from the fuse box around the edges of your cars trim, up by the rearview mirror, attach the right-angle mini-usb adapter, choose where you want to mount the camera (make sure to check using the USB plugged in and camera mounted to the mount, in case it bumps the rearview mirror) (I held it on the windshield about where I thought I wanted it (to behind and to the right of the rearview mirror and took some test footage, watched it on a computer, decided it looked ok, pulled the sticker cover and attached it), clean your windshield with glass cleaner, attach the mount.

I previously bought a generic SD card off of eBay for $20, but after 4GB has been used, all the data became corrupt. I got a Kingston, same thing happened (wasn't a genuine one). I returned both, and one day, I saw some genuine Samsung 32GB cards going for $20. They're normally $30, and I picked one up, and it's working well so far. Here are some good ones I found on Amazon:

u/inserttitlehere · 1 pointr/self

One thing you should make note of, your phone (I have the same phone) takes a micro sd card, not just an sd card. Don't buy it from verizon at all. They will rip you off. Try newegg or amazon, or if you have a local fry's store. Walmart doesn't have the best prices either. And since it's just for a phone, the brand and speed really doesn't matter all that much. Just make sure to pick one that has decent reviews and a decent price. You should be able to pick up a 32GB or so for $30 or less.

Here is some video I shot with it yesterday. (I was driving into the sun for the first half so the exposure is pretty bad.)

u/3isbear · 1 pointr/cars

Yup, that one. Reviews are pretty crappy but it's mainly because people aren't buying from a reputable seller. A lot of them are ending up with fakes and that's why some complain about having their dash cam die within 2-3 months. Getting the proper memory card is crucial as well. You're referencing the D5833, which is the asian market version. This model is a D5803. You're going to want a D5803 for full LTE compatibility in the US. The US version bottoms out at $510, at best. Since there is still a wait list, they bounce between $510 and $600 based on availability. Also, even if I ditch all the accessories, the two-year warranty can only be purchased from Sony direct.

If you get a lower quality, non-brand microSD card, then sure I suppose. Here is the card that this phone comes with (it's dropped $4.95 since my purchase...) -- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IVPU88U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I would do both, assuming your have a Macbook, not an iMac. A SD card similar to this to keep essential files on for when you are away from your work station, but I also would also get an external hard drive to save everything else and to keep a backup at home. Amazon warehouse deals offers 128gb expansion cards for around $56 (cheaper if your can deal with a smaller one), and a whole selection of external hard drives for $50-$60. However, if you want to choose one with the less hassle would be the SD card, assuming you have a model which supports this.

Are you aware of jetDrives? Its a flash drive made specifically for macbooks. It'll sit flush in your SD slot and give you more space for cheaper than swapping an SSD.

Yes, when I got my 128 GB MBA I had to move my iPhoto and iMovie libraries to external drives. iTunes in the Cloud helps; I only have a fraction of my music library stored on the MBA and I don't keep large iPhone apps in my iTunes library. Even after all that, I got a Trascend Jet Drive to give myself some room to breathe.

Get one of these flush mount SD cards and add 128GB of storage. It's not super fast but it's good enough for the music and other media type stuff. Only about $74.

They might. Nintendo has been releasing a lot more multi release titles.

SuMo for example.

and at one point during the presentation Nintendo said they did away with region locking so logical thing to do would be 1 game packed with 8 different languages like SuMo

Would also like to point out, Just because its a card doesnt mean there isnt space. If there is room on this then there is room on the game.

Aaaand would like to point out Vita games like Digimon World Order. It was a Asia release but the English subs were on the game card but just locked out.

I heard of a Kingston one for 512 GB as well but haven't found it for sale anywhere.

256Gb ones should be pretty easy to find. If performance matters to you Samsung and Sandisk are the most reliable in read/write speeds actually hitting the threshold.

u/Talks_To_Cats · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I wouldn't be so sure. Competitors have 512GB SDXC cards out already, Samsung just hasn't stepped up yet. That's why it's no suprise that a Samsung phone doesn't support higher capacity. We could very easilly see them before the end of the year.

The question is whether they'll patch it for the S8, use it as a "exclusive feature" for the Note 8, or just wait until next year's models. That I couldn't tell you.

If you want just raw storage space, it's probably cheapest with the Quad, and 4 MicroSD cards.

-----

To break it down we'll say 1TB is the goal you're aiming for:
As far as I'm aware, CompactFlash is basically dead now. If you go your nearest electronics store, or Amazon, the biggest size you'll probably find is 256GB, so that's out. And that 256GB CF card is also over $200.

If you wanted to go with the Solo or Dual model, theoretically you could get up to 1TB with a Solo or 2TBs with a Dual as Lexar has announced a 1TB SDXC card but just one will cost you $500. Which isn't that far off from what 1TB with a Dual would cost you, with 512GB SDXC cards being $250 a piece.

To get 1TB with the Quad realistically, you can buy 4 SanDisk MicroSD cards that are 256GBs each, for a total of about $175 (they're $44 a piece on Amazon). For $312 you could bump that all the way up to 1.6TBs, as they also offer 400GB cards at $78 a piece. You could get Samsung Evo MicroSD cards that go up to 512GBs per card, for a total of 2TBs, but those are also $200 a piece, so that 2TBs would cost $800.

-----

As far as how the iFlash Dual and iFlash Quad works, the card type and size doesn't matter; they don't run as a RAID, they run as
"Just A Bunch of Disks" so you can mix and match any brand and any size at your convenience. This also means all your data isn't lost if one of the cards fail, you only lose the songs that were stored on that particular card, and can replace the failed card and re-add just those songs.

-----

The bitrate of the songs do make an impact on how fast the battery drains, yes. As does the temperature of the device, screen brightness, and the volume. Apple's estimate for how long the OEM battery lasts (I think was 14 hours for the 30GB 5th gen?) was probably calculated with no case, songs at the iTunes "default" of 128kbps, EQ off, brightness low, and volume low to medium.

When a friend of mine was looking at upgrading his I think the math I came up with was that an 850mAh battery would get something around 7.5 hours at 320kbps, max volume and brightness.

It was something like: That level of usage on a flash based system would require 0.412 watts per hour to use, and an 850mAh battery at 3.7 volts would output 3.145 watts per hour and 3.145 / 0.412 is 7.63 hours.

Disclosure: I'm also terrible at math and that could have been all wrong.

But with moderate usage and FLAC files, I would recommend getting the biggest battery you feel comfortable with. Batteries are also relatively cheap. The 850mAh one he was looking at back then is only $12. If you have the money to spare, you could try out a few batteries and see if they seem legit or not.

I bought a 128gb Samsung SD and whenever I had it in the tablet, turning on the screen took a few seconds longer. I looked this problem up and apparently its only for cards larger than 64gb.

Also, I was advised to only use the stock charger so as not mix up the voltages or something and my complaint is that the stock charger cable is short (a little under 2 feet).

Other than that, I haven't encountered any issues, but you should remember that I haven't used it for anything other than MXPlayer/Twitch.

EDIT: Also, the "cast screen" function works perfectly, but I elected to use Bubble UPnP because my TV didn't stretch the "cast screen" picture.

Also, there are no physical buttons so sometimes I would accidentally screen shot with my left hand and that was annoying.

u/gabrishl · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

First of all, make sure to double check that none of your pre-existing devices have one. If not, I go by three pillars when finding a MicroSD: Price, Capacity, and Brand. Best capacity for the least amount of money- but with a trustworthy brand like Samsung or SanDisk and good reviews. I personally think This one looks pretty good.

Don't get me wrong, I'm actually a big proponent for large and fast internal storage. I'm just saying that 128GB as an option doesn't come cheap and a microSD slot remains a far more affordable alternative. I would've preferred to see 64GB as the base model with the move away from expandable storage but I'm not surprised they didn't.

But yeah, for half the money you could throw one of these into a One M9 and have 160GB total. There are faster cards for around $5 more that do sequential reads faster than a Nexus 5 or S4. They're improving quite a bit.

Windows 10 takes up 7gb out of 32gb. Let's round it up to 10gb. Considering OP doesn't play games, 22gb is more than enough space. In addition, you have MicroSDXC. Need more space? How about 128gb more space for $30.

How much space to need to do what the OP wants to do - which is mostly use Internet?

> Your best bet is to buy a refurbished previous generation business laptop.

I don't know why you're telling someone to buy used, old, crappy (not SSD) technology for about the same price (or higher) compared to a brand new and faster machine. SSD on a used laptop for less than $230? Good luck. OP has a tight budget - they can't afford it so they're stuck with HDD, a used one at that.

> Taken care of those business laptops will last 10+ years with incremental battery upgrades.

I manage about 30 of these right now and we're replacing all these with new SSD models because HDDs last 4 years. Battery isn't the problem - it's the wear and tear. If they're business laptops then businesses don't generally care about maintaining them since it's cheaper to replace them once depreciation benefits wear off. So you're stuck with an old, used, scuffed, slow, more expensive piece of equipment with no hint of a warranty and likely have a terrible battery (which would cost $50+)... or get something that's brand new, fast, cheap, expandable storage, under warranty for less.

This short video will explain the pitfalls encountered if trying to catch a vandal in the act using a dashcam.
http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2013/6/23/q-which-car-camera-is-best-for-catching-a-vandal-in-the-act.html

However, I understand that you want to do something so I'm going to suggest the cheapest method I can think of which may or may not work, but you might get lucky.

I would get A118C dashcam, a 128GB memory card, and a portable powerbank.

For the memory card I suggest this: https://www.amazon.com/PNY-128GB-MicroSDXC-Memory-P-SDUX128U160G-GE/dp/B00W77C1W4/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1466817385&sr=1-2&keywords=128gb+micro+sd

You will need to format the card to fat32 using the free utility such as this http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/guiformat.exe and the card will give you approximately 18hrs of continuous recording. Do NOT format the card with the native computer program.

For the powerbank you could get something like this: https://www.amazon.com/PNY-10400mAh-PowerPack-Portable-Rechargeable-P-B-10400-24-S02-RB/dp/B014M91EOA/ref=sr_1_40?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1466817826&sr=1-40&keywords=powerbank

Here's a link to a A118C if you need it: https://www.amazon.com/Spy-Tec-A118-C-Capacitor-Dashboard/dp/B00SK8B47W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466818121&sr=8-1&keywords=a118c+dash+cam

Set the dashcam up where you think it most appropriate, run the power cable covertly to the powerbank which you are going to hide somewhere (glove box, under dash, under seat, etc) turn it on when you park the car and off the next morning. Remember to recharge the powerbank when it's getting low, probably every few days. Good luck.

Would this work stock?

u/The_Phantom_Thief · 1 pointr/WiiUHacks

So would an SD card like this work?

u/quantum-quetzal · 1 pointr/photography

Generally speaking, any SD card will work. However, if it's too slow, you might not be able to record video for very long, and writing images to the card might take longer.

That said, the T6 isn't a particularly demanding camera for SD cards. A card like this won't limit the camera in any way, and is quite affordable.

You might also want to pick up a few accessories. I personally would suggest getting a lens hood. They help prevent flare, and can even slightly protect your lens against impacts from the front. There's no reason to buy the official ones, though. Here's a third party one that will work on your lens, and is way cheaper than the Canon one.

You might also want a tripod, so you can play around with long exposures and low light shooting. It doesn't really make sense for you to buy anything super fancy at this point. I've heard good things about the Amazon Basics one, and it's less than $20.

Beyond that, you might want a camera bag. I don't really know much about what is out there right now, but there should be plenty of options. It might be a good idea to go to your local electronics store and try out a few, since you want to make sure that it's comfortable.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and good luck shooting!

I'm one of those people that carries a lot of DSLR gear with me. I take a Nikon D800 and 3-4 lenses. You can check out my most recent travel album here. Photography is my passion, so I can't bring myself to take less. I love it and want to take loads of pictures. So for me, it makes sense. However, to anyone not into photography like I am, it isn't what I advise.

I recommend that you don't get a DSLR. If you're not very comfortable/familiar with shooting a DSLR, you'll use it on auto a lot. If you're using it on auto, you're paying too much for the camera you're getting. Instead, get a smaller/compact micro 4/3 sensor. They can let you change lenses (like a DSLR), have good quality, are small, cheap, and still take excellent quality photos for Internet use (they won't print as big as some DLSRs can, but that's rarely done with travel photos and your average traveler). They won't be as good in low-lighting, but that will be a non-issue for many.

In your price range, I recommend the Olympus PEN E-PL6 Digital Camera with 14-42mm II Lens. It comes with a zoom lens range that will be good for travel; you'll be able to do landscapes or walk-about shots in cities. It won't zoom far out, but you could buy another lens for that. However, I find that zooming far out is rarely done in my travels so I don't plan my setups around that rare need. A recent post with good pics using this camera can be seen here.

I would then get TWO 32 GB memory cards. Back them up often to your PC (if you're taking one).

Get a very small travel tripod. It won't be perfect for all situations, but it's better than none and it's very easy to travel with. If you want a night shot, you'll need a tripod. Or if you want to do a selfie that doesn't look like a selfie, put the camera on a timer and go stand in front of it on the tripod. It's cheap and light and adds more options.

Lastly, get some kind of camera bag that can hold all of your camera equipement + a laptop/tablet. It's nice to keep everything together, they usually have lots of pockets to store caps, SD cards, misc items, etc that are easy to lose in general travel luggage.

All of this should be within your budget and you'll get great photos out of it.

This is all the cheap stuff. Lenses, bags, straps, lighting, and the other gear starts to get expensive. What kind of budget are you looking at? I know you said budget isn't an issue... but what does that mean? $500 for everything? $1000? $10,000?

Micro for the New3 DS

Standard for 3DS

Honestly, these are just the first two I found at a good sale price at 32GB.

If you're willing to spend up to $20 for the SD card you can get similar 64GB models from the good brands:

(in no particular order) Samsung, SanDisk, Kingston, PNY, ADATA... theres other good brands, but I'd look at those first

> good, high quality SD card. Make sure it's high endurance and not some generic Sandisk SD card

Such as what? Whats wrong with regular sandisk SD cards such as this? https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-Class-Memory-SDSDUNC-032G-GN6IN/dp/B0143RT8OY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1525218853&sr=8-3&keywords=sd+card

Not yet, but that's the thing. If they can fit 1TB of data on a MicroSD card, why are ram sticks as large as they are, for a fraction of the GBs? And CPU caches... We're still measuring those in Megabytes!

Things can and probably will get a lot smaller soon.

Yes D2 works. No you can not save game saves to the SD card, there is no write function with the device. I have a clone with 128gb SD card and love it. When 1TB SD cards come way down in price I will get one of those. And yes they are totally compatible with the device.

u/1TBLite_Throwaway · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

On my phone so sorry for the garbage editing.

I know it's been said that up to 2TB should be fine for the Switch (and I know why this is, I work IT...) But as we all know a lot of things that -should- work or do a certain thing don't always do exactly that. (Last phone had issues with MicroSD cards 512GB and up...)

Just a small confirmation/relief to those interested.

-Why?-

Because I'm lazy, I don't enjoy swapping cards and I enjoy some games to be always ready to go (ex. Smash). I have a physical library of 42+ games but even so I filled my 512GB micro SD card...

Given SD Card:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P9W5HJV/

(While checking it seems to be on sale..., Four days after purchasing it for the $439.99 price (price ATT: $389.99), orz)

Throwaway since I don't fish for (possible) easy karma on my main account.

Obligatory Weltall tax.

You can buy the nail-sized storage monster directly at the SanDisk online store for $450. The card is also available for Amazon Prime delivery in European countries like Spain, United Kingdom, or Germany. At the time of publication, the card is listed on Amazon’s U.S. site but it says currently unavailable. The price for the Extreme version of the card is about $585 (523 euro) in Europe.

Hi! I used this card and then recently upgraded to a Samsung Evo Select 512GB (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MKSGZM6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I mainly upgraded for space, but I did compare load times between rounds in Dragon Ball FighterZ and they decreased by about 2 seconds. Your mileage may vary!

edit: whoops, this was supposed to go under the thread below about c10 vs u3

I don't think that's going to be enough storage for the Switch long term. I got this one for my 3DS where games are smaller and it's great, but I think the 256 GB one is better in the long run. It's on sale too for $119.99 ($80 off).

Hi there,

Is the 128gb Sandisk Extreme memory card supported by the H7B? I've had a look and only the 32GB and 64GB are detailed on the gopro website.

u/AChanceRay · 0 pointsr/photography

This is the one I own. I have a t2i, and I shoot a lot of video. So far I have about four short videos and 500+ pictures taken so far on the card, and it still reads 9,999 pics left. Awesome.

Edit: This is all shooting in JPEG format.

u/exiva · 0 pointsr/windowsphone

time for this. ..but srsly, what's the problem here? Class 6 is a bit on the slower side. and if capacity is the problem there's 64gb cards, etc.

u/Crafty-Deano · 0 pointsr/apple

You can always "upgrade" your space with a Nifty Drive + SD Card. I'm planning to do this eventually to my rMBP to store movies/tv on.

u/Dalzeil · 0 pointsr/androidtablets

I do plan to get a Micro SD card. I'm planning on buying this one because of the faster read/write speeds.

I got a decent amount of responses when I cross-posted this thread, look here.

This thread told me for sure that USB-OTG is possible with a USB 2.0 to Ethernet adapter. However, USB 3.0 to Ethernet seems like it isn't possible at the moment. So while you can connect, you'll need an adapter from MicroUSB to USB, like this one, and then you'll need a USB to Ethernet adapter, such as this popular one.

My only concern about it is speed - I'm hazy on the max speeds you would receive via this method.

Put something like this in a slot and you will have more space:

https://www.amazon.com/Transcend-JetDrive-Storage-Expansion-TS128GJDL130/dp/B00K73NT0S

u/icravedanger · 0 pointsr/3DS

Why would you buy this? If you want the most space possible, just get the Sandisk. http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Extreme-UHS-I-Memory-SDSDXPA-512G-G46/dp/B00NP699ZI

u/Anothergen · -1 pointsr/nintendo

The technology is there, it's just a matter of time at the moment. The cards (running at the right speeds) in those ranges aren't far off the market. Samsung have 256GB cards on the market at the moment. Microdia released a 512GB U3 micro sd card a year or so back as well, those they were well expensive.

I'd again ask though, how much did you think the internal memory should be?

You also seem to be overestimating the size of the games a bit. Even breath of the Wild is only in that ~15 GB (I think it's actually a bit less than that) range.

u/ignition386 · -1 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Not true. While PNY isn't the best brand, it is a legit card. It's being shipped and sold by Amazon.com (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DGT2DL5/). Not a 3rd party seller. Amazon would not sell the card themselves if it did not actually exist. There's also legit 512GB cards from Samsung, also Shipped and Sold by Amazon.com (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MKSGZM6/)

Is the faster RANDOM read/write IOPS of the A2 class Micro SD cards (that just happen to also have above 104 MB/S sequential) not going to make a difference for running games/ apps off the micro sd card rather than the Surface Go SSD?

Because I would think that's the most important thing

I have spent a ton of time looking this stuff up and still don't know which micro sd card to buy

It has 32 gigs of internal storage. Breathe of the Wild should take up 40% of that.

The console is absolutely incredibly shit.

EDIT: Apparently it's upgradable. So be sure to order a microSD to make the console usable, which is frankly ridiculous.

EDIT2: First 256 gig card I could find is 200$. So 200 more dollars in order to bring the console's storage up to a bit over half of what the cheapest Xbox one S has. This console is a joke.
