That would be the Couchmaster Pro.
Edit: They also sell these really cool compact booth-things for racing games.
Woman here. I buy men's razors. They're cheaper, last longer, and are better quality overall. No reason to pay more for the pink razors unless you're going into the fancy ones that have the soap around the blades or something. It's just marketing that works...unlike Bic's pens for her. (Seriously though, read the reviews, they're great)
I wanted to take notes on what you said here, but I forgot to bring my [Bic for Her pen] (https://www.amazon.com/BIC-Fashion-Retractable-Assorted-Fashion-FHAP21-ASST/dp/B005YGLA5Y) today so I can't. :(
Highly recommend the pens though, I bought them based on the Amazon reviews...
VIVO Triple LCD Monitor Desk Mount Stand Heavy Duty and Fully Adjustable | 3 Screens up to 30 inches (STAND-V003T) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B1D03GQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_KlHHDb0TWV02A
I use this and it’s worked really well. The two bottom monitors are slightly resting on the desk as well. It was a pain to get set up perfectly but they haven’t moved since.
In all fairness: Why is this even listed in the "books" section when it should be listed in the "stationary" section?
I mean the seller basically had to fill out a form with the field "Author" and they put "Kikke Mbl14"
Here's a link to that product listed in the correct section: https://www.amazon.com/Moleskine-Classic-Notebook-Large-Notebooks/dp/8883701127
Here is a link to the Etsy book that I started lettering with! I started lettering about 1 year ago after purchasing this book from Etsy. It comes with the best beginner pens to practice. It shows you multiple ways to write each letter so you can find your own style.
The pen i'm using in this video is the Micron 08. The glitter gel pens are the Pentel Sparkle Pop Gel Pens.
My FAVORITE small brush pen is the Tombow Fudenosuke hard tip.
Looks to me a lot like the Tombow brush pens I like to use for this style of brush calligraphy.

> I accidentally grabbed one of these pens (the lovely purple one) out of my wife's purse and instantly got my period. Now I'm feeling bloated and weepy.
> For those who haven't actually tried this pen, it is easy to make fun of. I LOVE this pen. When I click on it, it sometimes releases an eraser-sized nub of chocolate. At other times, a Fabio-like voice in dulcet tones says "Math eez hard. But you can do it" or "Take a break. Ez time too watch Dr. Phil!". It really just gives me the extra motivation to go on with my day. Also, it has amazing built-in smart technology! When I see my patients using this pen, the pen automatically detects the awkward situation because it knows to say "Do not worry, the real doctor will be in soon." Thankfully, the pen then signals to my male colleague, who will arrive with his "For Him - Bic Magnum" pen, designed to write OVER "For her" scribbles. Lives saved. Thanks, Bic!!!
In this report you should include:
Purchase a notebook. A lot will happen, many conversations, and so-on. You will never keep it all straight in your memory.
This may seem like a lot of work and trouble to go through. It is. But it's nothing compared to the stress and nightmare you could go through if you don't.
I’m a woman. He’s the one that assumed.
Edit: Shortly after I moved out of my childhood home, my dad sat me down and gave me a speech about how I’d have to do things for myself now (seriously), and he presented me with a tool kit. All the handles had a flower print on them.
Both of these men have my best interest at heart, but I guarantee that they each spent an extra 10% at least for an unnecessary bit of decoration.
It’s like when BIC branded that one set of pens for women (Read the reviews!). Why?
After shipping total came out to to $34.04 for me. Not really that great when this is on Amazon if you have Prime:
https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Adjustable-Articulating-Counterbalance-STAND-V001O/dp/B01NH0HTM5/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1543443934&sr=8-14&keywords=monitor+arm
This one is the same dimensions for $11.90. No logo or design, the sides are also stitched, plus it's 1mm thicker. I've had it for about a month and it's been great, I don't think there's any reason to get this one over it unless you really like the design.
Cheapest ink per ml.

The reviews are pretty great too.
Oh man, nobody's mentioned the rOtring 600 yet?! It's the love of my life. I had a Uni Kuru Toga 0.5mm for a little over a year beforehand and it was awesome, too. My only complaint about it was the compliance in the tip made it annoying to precisely predict how tiny lines would end up (I write very small). The 0.5mm rOtring doesn't spin the lead or anything fancy like the Kuru Toga, but it is so heavy, so well balanced, and the tolerances are just awesome. I've tried the rOtring 800 with the retractable tip, but the tolerance stackup of the moving parts just made it feel of lower quality than the 600.
I'm with you. I didn't realize there were "men's" foods and "women's" foods. So now my food is gendered in addition to pens , body wipes , and ear buds ?
ITS CALLED A COUCHMASTER
It looks like one of these, and I love these pens!

Cue the "for her" items too, like Bic For Her pens. Major props to the trolls who wrote those hilarious reviews at the bottom
So I went back two years on my purchase history to when I bought it on amazon.. the manufacturer replaced it with a similar item, so i have no guarantee that it will be the same. Mine has two clamps at the bottom where this one only has one, which I do not like.

Yep.
If you're looking for a larger stylus for longer writing/drawing sessions, the Staedtler Digital Pencil ($15) works great. Also, with either this or the included stylus, Squid is amazing. Zero lag.

Why would you assume that it's mostly men? What makes it a "man" pen?

Yeah, you want to use the Wet Erase markers.

Honestly if you don't know what they need from asking them, a gift card to Amazon. I'd much rather have that and spend it on what I need or whatever G.A.S. tells me I need than to receive a piece of kit that I didn't choose. I don't mean to sound rude, it's just that I rather prefer researching and choosing my own gear.
If you absolutely must, though, I recommend a book.

Well the obvious recommendation for this is 350mL of Pilot blue/black. Should last a lifetime! Other than that, it would be worth checking out the various blue/blacks offered by Diamine, Pilot/Iroshizuku, Lamy, Monteverde, Pelikan, and Robert Oster.
In a similar vein, the reviews of "Bic for Her" pens are hilarious:
https://www.amazon.com/BIC-Fashion-Retractable-Assorted-Fashion-FHAP21-ASST/product-reviews/B005YGLA5Y
Bottom accent isn't as bright as it is in this picture. Great monitor if you're looking for 144hz. Stand sucks balls, but these vesa adapters work well.
It's just a little thing, but a nice, bound, notepad with bookmark is essential for me. I like the quad-ruled ones:
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-NH130210120V-S-Classic-Notebook-Squared/dp/B01DN8TEA2/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1541454040&sr=8-6&keywords=quad+ruled+notebook&dpID=51WoQSZKalL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
Could consider a nice mechanical pencil to go with it, too: https://www.amazon.com/rOtring-Barrel-Mechanical-Pencil-1904443/dp/B00AZWYUA4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1541454178&sr=8-3&keywords=rotring+pencil&dpID=31NpYvK41ML&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
That’s accurate. Equality isn’t really conducive to capitalism (or conservative theocracy). As long as there’s division amongst genders, companies can make gendered products and make more money, usually charging more for the “lady” version.
Check out the questions and reviews on this.
The part about the protein bars cracks me up. Just like those Bic for Her reviews. Always good for a chuckle.
It appears to be either this one or this one
I THINK either one would work for achieving a similar effect.
Probably because monitor, keyboard, mouse, and desk/couch are all very specific to people individually. So it would make more sense to buy a monitor and attach to something like https://smile.amazon.com/COUCHMASTER-Ergonomic-Couch-Gaming-Cushions-Mousepad/dp/B00CCHRJ2Q/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=keyboard+and+mouse+tray+for+couch&qid=1571167825&smdm-noredirect=true&sr=8-7 .
There are smaller options but that one actually looks sturdy enough to put a monitor mount on it with little to no modification.
With thunderbolt I imagine you build some sort of pass-through system with a nice long cable management sleeve to make a bearable set up.
No VESA is an idiotic omission on Acer's behalf. That said, at least you can add VESA to it with this adapter.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! Not dry erase pens on a chessex mat!!!!!! If you're getting the standard old school chessex mat you'll need WET ERASE markers. Specifically the kind that was used on the over head projectors when we were kids (depending on how old you are - I'm thinking early 2000's). I was having trouble finding the wet erase markers at office supply stores but was able to find them at my local university store. Paizo's flip mats will work with dry erase or wet erase but I would still go for the wet erase on those because it prevents the map from being easily erased while people move the minis and mess with the table.
The Chessex mat I'd recommend - Reversable-choose your size
The markers I'd recommend - Staedtler's Non Permanent Lumocolor specifically the medium tip, fine is too small or Expo Vis-a-Vis Wet Erase
Hope this helps.
Edit- To quote chessex about dry erase markers- 'Never use dry erase, permanent, or grease-pencil markers. The vinyl is too porous for the lines created from them to be able to be removed. If you have any doubt of the suitability of any particular
marker, draw a small line on the border, let sit for awhile, and see how well it can be removed. Better to have a small permanent blemish on the edge of the mat than a permanent map drawn on the entirety of the mat!'
I most certainly do, especially if you have any friends who like fps and ink: Pilot Blue/Black in the 'coke bottle'. You can get this for around $22.00 for 350ml (you read that right) and that is for a remarkably good ink that is even fairly waterproof. If you split the bottle with friends, you can end up with the absolute best ink value on the planet. I got into this ink because pen restoration people I know use it, and they use a lot of ink and it can't be a problem ink. Give it a look.
For better cards, I use this: https://www.amazon.ca/Ultra-Pro-Pocket-Protector-Sleeves/dp/B004T2CBD4/ref=sxts_sxwds-bia?keywords=ultra+pro+binder&pd_rd_i=B004T2CBD4&pd_rd_r=bcb63363-d500-4d56-a6db-ede91821418a&pd_rd_w=8anbj&pd_rd_wg=0FOre&pf_rd_p=1831f6b9-0c20-4ab2-a931-987c40cd17c0&pf_rd_r=FNRSCEF7KJ3MQKAM80A7&qid=1554567204&s=gateway
I get some from time to time buying people's collections. Weee.
For higher-end NM cards, I'd just leave them sleeved in a toploader inside a closed box. You really don't want any damage on those, whereas a beat-up revised Tundra won't get more beat-up by you putting in it the above binders.
For low-end display cards (like a set of Tempest or whatever), I use normal binders with ultra pro sleeves. I stand them upright on a shelf so no card gets any binder dings.
If I had any very high-end cards in decent quantity ( 1k+ ) I'd probably rent a storage box at the bank and leave them in there.
Rudy ( alpha investments ) made a video on keeping your cards safe and basically once you get to a certain point ( like 100k+ ) you just have to install a vault in your house lol.
I get where you're coming from, because some #masculinitysofragile tweets are a bit "I'm a manly man hurp durp". However, I think the intent with most of it is to make fun if the marketers for thinking that "man size qtips" is a good idea. Products for women are criticized in similar ways, like this Bic for her review, which implies that regular pens are too dangerous for women, and that women need a man to teach them how to write. It benefits from having no character limit, so it's a bit more obvious that it's tongue in cheek, but I think most #masculinitysofragile tweets are going for the same effect.
This is a much better deal, and offers a larger range of horizontal motion for the monitors, but does not have individual height adjustment.
Edit: Sorry to promote the competition, but the community should know about other options.
Well, the journal I use is a Leuchtturm1917. It's wonderful and I don't mind the ghosting at all :)
I’m going to take my Bic For Her and write a strongly worded letter about this! If my husband lets me, of course!
Oh boy. That's the Rotring 600. Probably the go to recommendation of this sub.
I was kidding, here's your COUCHMASTER

I hightly recommend the CM Quickfire Rapid to anyone knew to the mechanical keyboard world. They are built very well. They don't go for the 'Gamer' look and just offer a solid keyboard. They are available from most big retailers (most high level mechs are not). They offer a lot of the perks of premium mech boards, without the higher price as you can often find them for pretty cheap ($50 - $80). The only real downside to them, is the key caps. They are pretty cheap, but odds are if you're buying a mechanical keyboard, you plan on customizing them anyways. Which the QFR lends itself very well to. Some keyboards (like the K65) have some keys that are not standard size. This makes it a little more difficult to customize.
Need a wrist wrest? Look no further than the Griffiti Tenkeyless. It may fray a little, but support is very good and it's comfy. As opposed to other brands that offer cheap plasic ones.
> What I don't get is how Seattleites continue to constantly complain about the way money is being spent in king county, then do everything they can to LOOK like they care about people doing jobs THEY think are beneath them, but ignore money being wasted.
These Moleskine journals are really nice, lined, and not very expensive. If you write all of your whiny bullshit in there, then we wouldn't have to read it!

> Some are even complaining about gender seperate stuff like fucking razors and shaving foam other shit like that
To be fair sometimes women's stuff is made exactly the same as men's but costs twice as much. It just happens to be a different colour. Also some things specially made for women are just ridiculous. Take Bic's pen for women as an example. Why the hell do women need pens specially designed for them? You can go to any office supply store and buy cheap pens by the bucket. Sometimes marketing to women is really stupid.
I'm against this kind of thing.
I have been using Vis-A-Vis and they seem to work pretty well.. This multi-color pack is the specific set I have.
Pilot Blue black 350 ml for less than 21 USD. Not affiliated
Ink 350ml INK350BB (japan import) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001P35A74/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_gJs5AbZ9Y7AV5
Leuchtturm1917 always left me satisfied. Smooth, great quality paper and subtle dotted matrix on the pages. A nice, hardcover, leathery effect on the outside. Got mine for 15€ back in Germany.
An interesting NY sketchbook company has also caught my eye - Baron Fig, they have pretty cool high-quality notebooks.
A Moleskine is always a safe bet too.
Give one of these a shot.
I use this one at work because it's cheap and super cushy. It's bad for people with oily or sweaty hands though, as the foam falls apart with prolonged contact to liquids. I've had mine for a couple years and it's doing great. My friend with sweaty palms killed his in 6 months. Multiple sizes available.
https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Keyboards-MacBooks-Notebooks-Neoprene/dp/B004DANDN4
I use this one at home (well, one just like it). It's gel with a material casing and rubber foot. Nothing you do to it while using your computer should cause it to break down. The downside is when they get dirty, cleaning fabrics with a sponge can be annoying. Also comes in whatever size you need.

Worked out really well and didnt want to do a JB Weld hack job like one of the reviews posted for the monitor on amazon.
Assuming your microns are the fine liner type and not the brush pens, you should get on the brush pen train!
This one is really nice and popular.
This one is nice too and would be more like what you're used to with the microns, but with a softer tip so you can vary the line weight easily.
I could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure both of these are waterproof. Playing with water soluble ink and a water brush is a lot of fun too and doesn't require much to try out. Something like this (but try to find just one for cheap.. you don't need a bunch) plus random non-waterproof pens you probably have around the house and you're good to go.

I highly recommend the Kazaira Extended Mousepad.
I started with these Fudenosuke pens, which are super cheap on Amazon. If you're looking for a wide variety of color, but still a pretty easy-to-use pen, check out these as well. The trick is to find a pen that has a stiffer tip. The softer brush pens are trickier to learn on, but it can be done. I like the black Fudenosuke pens because they are pretty similar, but the blue one has a harder tip and the green one has a bit more give. It should be able to help you transition into using softer brush tips!

The Power Company has a process journal that could work well for what you are looking for.
I use a black moleskin journal to keep track of my progress, this is the one I bought off amazon.
I write my focus for the day, the drills or workouts that I do, how the session is going, particular things that I noticed while climbing, strength training exercises (sets and reps), my start and end times for my climbing and workouts (It is nice to track how much time you spend at the gym each week, and what portion is time spent climbing vs. strength training).
I don't write the individual climbs/grades that I do. I don't see much of a point to this, as gym grades are not very consistent and they aren't up for that long. When I am outdoors, I write every route that I climb.
I also tried keeping notes in a spreadsheet on my phone, but I like writing better, and it keeps me off of my phone while training.
Pilot Blue Black comes in bottles.
Pilot Blue-Black is cheap as dirt (350 mL for $25), waterproof, professional, and really well behaved. It also shades surprisingly well on Rhodia and Tomoe River paper (maybe a 6.5/10 on shading which is a bit unusual for such a standard color).
(I've recently rediscovered this ink after spilling some water on a page I'd written and seeing just a hint of desaturation instead of the complete washing away of everything. Instant convert/made me love the ink again).
If you want a giant bottle of good, cheap ink for your students, the "coke bottle" of Pilot Blue-Black is a good choice.
Good call on adopting something. I discovered bullet journal late in my PhD, and I don't think I would have found a job if I hadn't- there were just too many moving parts.
I used a moleskine, but they have gotten worse over time (cheaper paper and poorer quality. I now used a Leuchtturm 1917. It's like a moleskine on steroids.
Slow down. Women need special pens that reflect their delicate sensibilities and unique biology, so it only makes sense that LGBT people would need special apps with purple or rainbow backgrounds.
I think the term OP meant to use is "Applications of Color", and I can't recommend any because it would violate sacred safe spaces for me to even look at the Appstore of Color. But they probably have some awesome apps in there.
I do the same. I've always found that writing something by hand helps me remember it better than if I just type it. When I come across a new word that isn't an obvious cognate (or is a seemingly obvious cognate but for the wrong word) I write it down along with its translation. I forget where I read this idea, but I also go back through the notebook each week, copy the words onto a new page, and try to define them each from memory. The ones I can't recall, get carried forward to next week, so it's sort of a low-tech version of spaced repetition.
Since I travel for work, I paid a few dollars more for something durable and sharp-looking, like so, but if you watch the back to school sales, you can probably find composition books for less than a dollar each, or spiral notebooks for 10¢.
Don't print them… draw your own on a reusable surface. Your maps don't don't need to be super detailed.
Get a $12.00 flip mat and some wet erase markers and just sketch out the corridors to scale.
Another solution is a chessex map. If you're really going to get into the hobby then this is a longer-term solution than the flip mats.
A final option is to buy a roll of 1" grid paper and some sharpies, and draw your own.
All of these are cheaper than buying a projector or printing each map to a 1" grid scale.

It's slightly over $20, but it is 350 ml - which is probably a lifetime supply. A coke bottle full of ink
You're buying waterman ink and a $15 pen in this equation which is absurd. Cheap pens need to compared to cheap pens.
Let's say you buy a $2 Jinhao from eBay, free shipping, in an EF nib, including a converter, and then buy this $22 350 mL blue ink from Amazon.
It's 7 times the ink for twice the price, which is 3.5 times the value on ink. Plus, in an EF, you're writing a line more comparable to the .05 line of normal cheap pens, while putting far less ink down on the paper, which could mean that you use half or even less of the ink than you described. That 350 mL bottle would last forever. And the total cost for basically a lifetime of writing is $24.
The lie we tell ourselves is that we can save money by buying the pens and inks we WANT to use. We don't, it's a fantastic waste. But at its core there is truth to the economic upside of a refillable pen.
Fountain pens deplete liquid ink much quicker than a ballpoint or gel pen or whatever. Just one of the quirks. And you're probably using it more than you thought! 1-ish mL of ink in a few days of moderate writing is not unheard of considering a single day of heavy duty note taking can do it.
The cost of ink can be negligible if you buy a bulk bottle of Pilot ink or similar. A 50mL bottle of ink will probably last 6-12 months.
edit: maybe don't invest in 350cc of ink if don't know if you'll like it or not. J.Herbin and some other inks are pretty expensive but brands like Pilot, Waterman and Pelikan sell regular ink that's a bit cheaper.
How much do you need? Because [[Pilot Blue-Black]] comes in large quantities
Avoid C and D-ring binders - if you're not careful, you can easily damage the cards in the column nearest the rings. You might be careful, but others that look through it won't always be.
Use side-loading pages - it makes it harder to steal from you and are much less likely to have cards slide out and get damaged while the binder is in your bag or whatever.
I use these for any binder I take with me to tournaments (I admittedly use a d-ring at home for staples that are not for trade). If you use one of these, sleeve cards that go into the pockets as the waffled pages can leave marks on the backs of cards.
/u/commiespaceinvader touched on an issue that I'd like to address a bit more directly.
In my experience, people who are not history buffs sometimes confuse the ideas of "women's history" and "gender history." This might be a bit obvious, but gender history can be seen as an expansion of the more femme-focused field of women's history. Gender history looks at femininities, masculinities, genders in between, genders outside, agender identities, etc. (See /u/sunagainstgold's reply to this comment for the historiographic context of this, which includes the difference between social and cultural history.)
I think part of why many laypeople equate gender history with women's history is that we in the Anglophone world tend to think of men/masculinity as the default state of being, and women/femininity as the gendered alternative. (Think of the Amazon review debacle that was ungendered Bic Pens vs. "feminine" Bic for Her. Or behold these unnecessarily "designed for women!" ear plugs. The regular product is for men (?), so apparently we need a special pink product for women.)
Deborah Tannen explains phenomenon this brilliantly in her classic essay, "There is No Unmarked Woman." We have been trained to notice femininity more than masculinity, causing us to equate "gender" with femininity.
EDIT: And I'd like to second /u/sunagainstgold's Feminist history versus history of women as a very pertinent to what I was trying to say here.
EDIT 2: Changed a few things in response to sunagainstgold's valuable corrections.

Not to be confused with feminist pen, which i fully expected.
Actually, it's a cheapest mount I could find. I used to use it for 3 screens (19"+23"+19"), currently works well for 2 screens(2x 27").

A high quality mechanical pencil
I'd love to hear what other folks are using. Ideally, I'd like a case that can fit a total of 16-20 fountain pens, but hopefully with a smaller footprint. The 96-slot Global Art Leather Pencil Case is almost perfect... but they changed their design since I bought mine and they now have only one loop per slot instead of two. (I utilize both loops for smaller things, like pencil leads, wax stamps, etc.)
My current case contains the following items, but as you can see I'm just about out of room!

Side A: Pencils

Side B: Fountain Pens

There are two groups of people in the world: people who think this is the best mechanical pencil ever made, and people who've never used one.
I think I paid $50 for mine, and if I somehow lost it I wouldn't think twice about paying that much again.
It's actually a combination of this and this. I couldn't find one with this setup that had the requisite arm span, so I had to improvise.

Wrist rests are actually bad for posture and cause carpal tunnel/RSI, since no pressure should ever be applied to your wrist (either resting on a desk or a wrist rest) Your wrists should be floating above the desk, parallel to the ground. It's tiring at first, but you get used to it and it's better than having wrist pain for the rest of your life.
If you really want one that badly though, these ones are really good and this one is cheap.
This is the one i have.
Kind of. The problem with this one, is it hangs below the monitor a good couple inches, which takes away from precious desk clearance.
I own two of these and custom mounted them with VESA plates and some two-part epoxy, and they've been mounted with absolutely no issues for a couple years running.
I have recently ordered a bunch off Amazon and tested them. I found these two to work well:
Wacom Bamboo Stylus for Galaxy Note: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IWJM9SW

My personal favorite is the S-Pencil, both because it reminds me of my childhood, and also because of the smooth tip.

> 1) what do you recomend to do?
I'd personally start with 5e, because it is a much more simplified system that allows for more aspects of role-playing, which is great for everyone - especially new players.
A nice start for new groups to DnD is a starter set. Here is a link to buy a starter set which comes with a 64-page adventure pre-made module book, a 32-page rule-book for playing characters level 1–5, 5 pregenerated characters, each with a character sheet and supporting reference material, and 6 dice. If you are playing 5e, you need the 5e books - the 3.5 books won't work for 5e, they are completely different games due to additional information added over each new edition.
I'd also recommend that you all sit down together in the same room, hook up a computer to a TV in the room, and watch some good DnD games to figure out what role-playing means, how DM's look in action, and how the game runs overall. Shows such as Critical-Role, or Acquisitions Incorporated are amazing.
Here is the playlsit for Critical Role on Youtube:
Here are the Acquisitions Incorporated games on Youtube:
> 2) what dices do we need to get either way?
You each need a 7 set of DnD dice, and DM's do well to have some extra dice for faster group monster rolls. Plenty of bulk dice sellers on Amazon:
> 3) do we need to get board/minutures?
You can if you want, it's a nice visual aid. I'd recommend to use a large table to play around, and then buy some battle mats which can be written on with wet erase markers. Mineratures are all over the place for sale, so just google them. Or if you don't want to spend a ton of money on physical maps, you could use a virutal set-up in an IRL game, like my party does. You can use Roll20 which hosts privtae game rooms with virtual tabletops on which you draw maps into and insert images. Plug a laptop into a huge TV, and boom, you have a giant virtual battle-mat to use during the game!
Tons of other info on the sidebar of this subreddit, or just search the subreddit for other "starting DnD" posts, because there are a ton of them with good info.
Here's a few off the top of my head-- I have no idea how available they are in Canada.

Cheap and good: Staedtler 925: 3-pack of 0.3mm, 0.5mm, and 0.7mm for $20. Individually sold at art/stationary stores for $5-$10 each.
The metal version by Pentel: GraphGear 500: 4-pack of 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.7mm and 0.9mm for $20. Individually sold at stores for $10-$20 each. They're okay, and people like the metal look, but I prefer the Staedtler.
The good stuff: rOtring. rOtring 600: $23. rOtring 800: $50.
I haven't tried the rOtring pencils myself; I've heard they're good, but I've been pretty happy with the Staedtlers. Although they're the cheapest I mentioned, they're also very comfortable and reliable. I've never had one fail (I have had Pentel pencils fail, including but not limited to the ones I linked), and I've been using them for years.
Make sure you get a decent mechanical eraser to go with them. A Tombow MONO zero in an amazing eraser for the details, and a Sanford Paper Mate Tuff Stuff is good for everything else. Buy an extra pack of the refills and you're good for a while. Note: Do not buy the Sanford eraser for more than $5. The price on Amazon right now is ridiculous. The Tombow is a little more pricy; $5-$10 is fair for it.
Pentel and Uni ... peasants. Best one I’ve found also not on a college budget

Looks like one of the flavors of this stand: https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Monitor-Adjustable-Screens-STAND-V003T/dp/B00B1D03GQ/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&qid=1539739704&sr=8-19&keywords=2%2B1+monitor+clamp+stand
Just has the single monitor mount on bottom with the dual arm up top.
Boom arm for the mic is mounted is either mounted to the wall, a hole is drilled out of the top plastic cap on the mount's pole and sits in there, or the clamp can mount to the pole with the plastic cap removed or to the pole itself. My money is more on a drilled hole in the plastic or one of those boom arm mounts that require drilling into a desk that perfectly fits in the tube.
I have no idea what that is called or where you could get it, but I am 99% sure that you could easily make one yourself for mcuh, much cheaper.
EDIT: Just saw this post linking to the product and now I'm 100% sure that what I just said is wrong.

I used these tombow brush pens to address my STDs and might do the same for the invitations. They're great pens and for me I picked up how to do the modern calligraphy (brush lettering) pretty quickly.

/u/Grep2grok's point about the speed of lectures is certainly worth considering. I'd parrot his pencil recommendation. For a premium pencil, I'd recommend any of the following:
Of the above, start with the GG 1000. I think it has the most comfortable grip for writing at length.
Pencil kind of opens the playing field when choosing a notebook, as you don't have to worry about bleed. I prefer large spiral-bound books as they lay very flat. Your work space will be very limited most of the time, so something that folds back on itself may prove useful.
the entire rotring line is on sale on all of amazon includint europe so that's nice

I present you, The GamerCube
If you can get over what a pathetic loser you look like in it, it's supposedly a fantastic solution for using a mouse and keyboard from the comfort of your own couch.
I'll do you one better. Here's a link to buy one.
COUCHMASTER® Pro
I have the same board. It's pretty decent! If you're itching to upgrade some things, I recommend these purchases:
I also hacked in a USB port to make transporting the keyboard a bit easier (I travel quite a bit for work). Pics here: http://imgur.com/a/hXi6p The only part you have to buy is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KLDPZVU and you'll likely need the ability to 3d print some standoffs (or find some other kind of non-conductive spacers to hold up the breakout board).
Could be any number of things. What kind of chair to you use? What angle are your wrists at when you're typing? Do you rest your arms/wrists on the desk as you're typing, or do you float them above the keyboard?
Between playing guitar a lot through high school (and still a fair amount now) and the amount I spend on my computer (similar to you) my wrists aren't in the greatest of shape, either, though I don't think they're as bad as yours.
As far as wrist pads, I've seen a number of people on here use Grifiti Wrist Pads, which come in sizes for Full-sized keyboards, TKL, 60% and mouse pads.
I've been thinking of getting one of them for myself.
It's actually really, really nice. It was fairly cheap on Amazon and some of the reviews warned about how dense it was and how badly it smelled. The smell went away after a few hours and even though it's dense, it's soft enough that my wrists don't hurt after typing all day.
Edit: Forgot the Amazon link
I've got the Perixx DX-2000XXL. It's big enough for my mouse and keyboard to comfortably fit, and to provide a bit of cushion for my wrists. Super grippy bottom and nicely stitched edges.
It's been easy to clean (doesn't really pick up much dust/dirt) and was pretty cheap compared to some of the other offerings.
I have dual sticks, not have a HOTAS, but I think my setup is still relevant.
I've been toying with the idea of making fold-away holders for my sticks that attach to my chair but it's probably a pipe-dream. I use my computer and desk mainly for work... so any solution has to be removable or tucked away for non-playtime. But until then... this is how I do it:
A year or so ago, someone on this sub suggested Scotch Restickable Dots. I attach 3-4 to the base of each stick and plant them firmly on the mouse pad. I also have many under the mouse pad to keep it secured to the desk top.
Works well for me. I simply pick up the sticks and put them off to the side when I'm done. I remove the Dots from the bases and put them on top of the bases to keep them from sticking to the desk elsewhere. I also cover my sticks when not in use (I have cats)... so the Dots remain fairly clean.
Oh, and the Dots are washable... so you can "refresh" them if they loose their stickiness.
EDIT: Silver Model is $208.08. However its the G247HU, and is 24".
THERE IS NO VESA MOUNT - Buy an adapter for it here
If you're like me, and you just want a simple 1440p monitor, I'd say this is a great value option. Ticks a lot of boxes for me.
I really like this size for a mousepad; my keyboard rests on top of it and so I can always keep the keyboard and mouse lined up. When I was using a separate pad for just the mouse there was always an issue trying to slide the mouse right up next to the keyboard - either the mousepad pushes up against the keyboard and risks sliding under it, or they come apart and then it's the mouse sliding off of the pad.
I've got this one.
There is that VESA adapter to solve the stand problem anyway. It's adding a little more to the price, but it may be worth it to some, especially if they already have a mount.
Looks like a VESA mount adapter for this model is available on Amazon.
They do. I actually have had this mount with my XG270HU for the last few months and it does its job well. It's kind of pricey at $32, but it beats gluing a mounting plate/drilling holes into the back of the monitor.

a little wobble, but otherwise fine.
so r/calligraphy is really helpful. YouTube ideas of “brush pen calligraphy” is also really helpful. I recommend buying yourself a nice brush pen or two off Amazon or from Michael’s. The company Tombow makes the most popular ones. You can PM me at any time if you have any questions about what brush pens to buy, but I recommend starting off by buying brush pens, googling “brush pen calligraphy guide” and just getting started practicing! It’s REALLY easy once you train your hand. All it is is a matter of muscle memory teaching your hand when to press the brush pen down for thick lines and how to lighten your grip on the pen as you make upward strokes. The more you look at examples and practice practice practice the easier it’ll get because your muscle memory will retain how to write letters with different levels of pressure.
I can link you to the pen I used in this photo: Tombow 62038 Fudenosuke Brush Pen, 2-Pack. Soft and Hard Tip Fudenosuke Brush Pens for Calligraphy and Art Drawings https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M71S9DU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_kSEKBbVJSVZD5
Only $5 so very affordable for 2 of them. They’re both the same pen but one of them has a more stiff brush tip and one has a more soft brush tip, so you can play around with both and see what works best for you.
Ask r/calligraphy for tips and post your work there to get some constructive criticism to keep improving! If you go to my post history you can see that I once had some pretty shaky calligraphy. But that was back in March. In only a few months, I’ve improved a lot. It’s a pretty easy hobby to pick up and comes in handy to make any letter, or notes, or sign, come out gorgeous :)
Good luck! PM me if you have any more questions. Please don’t hesitate to. It’s reddit that got me into r/bulletjournal which in turn lead me to calligraphy so I want to pass on the favor to other redditors as well. Reddit has introduced me to so many cool hobbies! I’d love to do the same to other people who are curious.

You need a Wacom EMR pen/Samsung S Pen
So you can either purchase one from one of the OEM's like
or try one of the S-pen's...Wacom used to sell Wacom Bamboo Feel pens/Wacom Stylus Feel Carbon (CS-300/400) but they have discontinued them and they are hard to find and ridiculously expensive when you do, some selling for as much as $250 which is just ridiculous.
I've bought from this site and they have a Toshiba Trupen (EMR pen) i've used w/ the Surface Pro 1 for $8.
The included stylus doesn't have buttons. I have a class set of them. Just a standard stylus. There is one on Amazon

For anyone wanting one of these things of beauty.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072N31S7C
There's the Staedler pencil which is getting excellent reviews, although I haven't tried it personally. There's the Tab S3 pen which is very good and a little larger than the "toothpick" pens. I personally use a Wacom Bamboo Feel but they don't seem to be available any more for a reasonable price. They were $30-$40, and now they're going for $100-$400...
The S Pen that comes with the Tab S3 is actually very comfortable. It should work well with the Tab A as well. https://www.amazon.com/Moleskine-Cover-Music-Notebook-Mixed/dp/886293310X/
A Moleskine is one of these.
No experience, but I read in a DnD forum that "wet" erase markers work a lot better. They're made for use on transparencies. These were mentioned specifically: Expo Vis-A-Vis Wet Erase Markers
For miniatures, be warned that the Heroclix and Mage Knight minis, while useable, are mostly larger than the 1" standard width (for a medium character or creature) - this is generally not that big of a problem but if you're going with modular terrain it means they may not fit well, especially along with other miniatures beside them.
Ebay is a good choice for miniatures, especially if you have particular needs for certain things - you want that male elf archer in leather armor, or are you looking for a beholder? You can find and get them there. Here's my favorite seller for these things, shipping is definitely reasonable and the choices are expansive:
http://www.ebay.com/usr/auggest?_trksid=p2053788.m1543.l2754
Another option to miniatures are tokens, and they are much, much cheaper. These are small cardboard circles that fit a 1" block as standard size (larger creatures will fill more, of course). The best starter set for this for a DM is the Monster Vault, but there are a ton of others as well. I suggest ebay for these for the most part, there are some that sell them by the sheet and others that sell the full boxed sets. You can get these for characters as well as monsters. Here's a link to the Monster Vault so you can see what you get with it:
http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Vault-Essential-Dungeons-Dragons/dp/0786956313/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1420725056&sr=8-2&keywords=dungeons+and+dragons+Tokens
Cheapest and most versatile "professional looking" option for the map / terrain is a chessex battlemat - make sure you have WET ERASE markers, not dry erase and keep it clean between adventures. Below are links to one of their mats (there are other sizes, just search on amazon) and to some excellent markers:
http://www.amazon.com/Chessex-Role-Playing-Play-Mat/dp/B0015IQO2O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1420724703&sr=8-1&keywords=chessex+mat
http://www.amazon.com/Expo-Vis-A-Vis-Markers-Colored-16078/dp/B00006IFGW/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1420724703&sr=8-9&keywords=chessex+mat
Cheapest option for modular-type terrain would be tiles. These are cardboard "grids" that most often have designs on them and come in different sizes. The best starter set out there is the Dungeon Tiles Master Set - The Dungeon. It has a lot of tiles and is pretty versatile, at least for base grid options like dungeons and general floors. There are a ton of other options for them - again I suggest you look on ebay for these because you can often find used ones that are in perfect shape sold as a set, or even individual tiles if there's something in particular you need. This is the link to the aforementioned base set on amazon so you can see what it has:
http://www.amazon.com/Dungeon-Tiles-Master-Set-Essential/dp/0786955554/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1420724907&sr=8-1&keywords=dungeon+tiles+master+set
If you want to spend more money and go with something much more dynamic, there are 3-d modular sets ranging from paper to near-stone like quality but they can cost a ton. I have a large set of Dungeonstone (www.dungeonstone.com) that I bring out and always get oo's and ahh's. But they're heavy to carry around a lot, especially if I need the whole set. Another option, that's generally slightly more expensive than dungeonstone is Dwarven Forge. You can look them up - but I only mention this in case you decide to spend more money than you want to at this point. :)
Good luck! I hope this helps.
Pilot's line of basic colors (Black, Blue-Black, and Blue) are among some of the best standard colors ever.
I'm a fan of Pilot Blue-BLack: https://www.amazon.com/Ink-350ml-INK350BB-japan-import/dp/B001P35A74
It's $23, but per mL of liquid, it's great (about 6 cents per mL).
It behaves well on cheap paper, is reasonably water resistant, shades, and flows well.
I’m sorry, it was foolish of me to assume that you were in the US too!
Here’s the link (turns out it’s actually 350ml) Ink 350ml INK350BB (japan import) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001P35A74/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_nGPXBbHBKKPT8
And since it is a japan import I’m thinking you should be able to pick up a bottle! However, I have no idea how the Amazon in India works, so maybe not. But worth a shot!
Namiki (Pilot) blue or Pilot blue-black both work well.
Cheap too:

I'm assuming Leuchtturm. it's what you see most people using for a bujo.
https://www.amazon.com/Leuchtturm1917-Medium-Size-Hardcover-Notebook/dp/B002TSIMW4/ref=sr_1_1?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1485183428&sr=1-1&keywords=leuchtturm
It's the basic Leuchtturm1917 A5 in dotted. Suits my needs, feels good in my hands and under my pen, and the paper is 80 weight. I'd like heavier, but I don't need it. What do you use?
For once things are easier to find in the UK!
https://www.amazon.co.uk/LEUCHTTURM1917-329398-Notebook-Medium-numbered/dp/B002TSIMW4
I take daily notes... But I found Field Notes frustrating to use and instead opted for one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Leuchtturm1917-Medium-Size-Hardcover-Notebook/dp/B002TSIMW4
Paperweight is solid, it's well bound, can't rave enough.
But anyway, I find the benefit in that I'm less likely to forget important things and that (for me) writing something complicated helps me really think about it, where otherwise if I did it on a machine I'd just bang away at the keyboard and then move on, or worse, copy paste.
https://www.amazon.com/Leuchtturm-Notebook-Hardcover-Dotted-Medium/dp/B002TSIMW4
FAVE: https://www.amazon.co.uk/LEUCHTTURM1917-329398-Notebook-Medium-numbered/dp/B002TSIMW4
Pilot pens are my favorite. I think the G-2 0.38mm ones write the best, but I also like the Percise V5 .
As far as a notebook, Leuchtturm1917 dotted A5 books are my favorite.
For pens/markers I would recommend going to an arts store and try to test some out. It is such a personal thing in my eyes.

Grifiti Fat Wrist Pad
It's the perfect size for my board. Thank you, on the caps! The board is a poker3 rgb. When I was looking around for caps, I had seen a photo someone posted here, from about a year ago, of the translucent pudding keycaps on their poker3, and I thought it looked great, so I bought some myself. They especially look good with the white plate under the caps that come on the board.
Older post
The caps are from FlashQuark
I would recommend using KMC Perfect Fit sleeves. They are great for double sleeving, and for storing cards in a binder. Also, make sure not to use a 3 ring binder with the loose ultra pro plastic pages, the rings can damage your cards over time. Use a side loading binder like This.
I use an Ultra Pro 9-pocket binder, the one with a plastic cover and not the leather one. I love this binder because the cover is sturdy, even when I accidently left it on a very hot power adapter and the cover was still okay. The pockets are side loading so it is better for a trade binder, not to call out people but it is harder to take out the cards without someone noticing. The backing on the pages are black so it makes the cards look nicer. However, the black backing are not acid-free so you still want to use sleeves for the cards in there. Lastly, the four pocket binders tend to put a bend in the cards on the spine when you fill it up, which can pose a problem to your cards.
Here is a very helpful video I watched before deciding on a binder:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5IauASYWjk
Here is my binder:

Channel Fireball is having a good sale right now, here is the link for the supplies section:

> Those cardinal binders look nice, but are awfully expensive on Amazon for me.
You're telling me, lol. I bought them at Walmart for $10 each, but spread over time as I needed them. You obviously won't need a plethera of binders if you're starting from scratch, although keep in mind supplies ARE ALWAYS expensive, you're just noticing it because you need it all at the same time.
> what sleeves do you recommend?
For your 3-ring binder, I use the exact ones you linked. The more you buy at a single time, the cheaper they are. I usually buy 2,000 at a time. They are perfect for 9-pocket pages.
A trade binder, to me, is one of those ultra pro/monster binders you were referring to in your older post Like This. If you aren't planning on going to locals and trading with fellow players, don't even worry about it. If you're just going about starting a personal collection, get a smaller 3-ring binder for valuables and a bigger one for collection. I personally do not recommend lugging a small 3-ring binder around to locals and tournaments to trade because the cards can fall out of the pages if you aren't careful.
I personally use this one.

The most popular option would be the rOtring 800.
Though TWSBI Precision could be a cheaper alternative (I haven't hold one of this, so I can't say how heavy/sturdy it feels)
Maybe you could be interested in a lead holder as well? I personaly love my Staedtler 2.0mm Silver Series if line weight is not an issue at least.
The only place on the page it says used is the "used & new from $22.17", which means that you can get it used for cheaper if you want. this one itself is unused
*EDIT* if you go to https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00AZWNS84/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all it clearly marks the $28.49 one from amazon as new
Some of us engineers care about our pencils! Especially if it's a Rotring 800
You might be thinking of the 800, that one has the retractable tip and can be had for ~$35.

A small journal is all you need. If you want a good one that will last a campaign or three, pick up a moleskine or something of similar quality.
If you're the kind of group that insists on using laptops at the table, Microsoft OneNote is perfect. But you should put the laptops away. They don't solve as many problems as you'd think.

this journal would help so much with my hikes... I document Invasive species as a volunteer and having a handy little place to jot down coordinates would be PERFECT
Thanks for the contest
Here is what I typically carry on a normal day.
Can't go wrong with a Moleskine notebook. I just bought myself one for Christmas.
Here. Take $20 and buy this. Trust me on this. You'll save a lot of money, and they're AWESOME quality.
If you're playing a combat-intensive game (ask your DM) go to your local gameshop and buy a mini to represent you. Plastic would probably be best since you're new, but if you want to go all out, buy a pewter and paint it. You'll love it more.
PDFs are fine for books you're not going to reference often, but you're best off getting physical copies of the books. They're so much easier to work with. Check out your local used book stores. They're the best place to find this stuff, as most of it's out of print. Stay away from ebay on this. People WAY overvalue their books.
I've personally never played pathfinder, but I'm a D&D 3.5 vet. I've heard they're pretty similar. Any other questions I'll be happy to answer. Welcome to the life. You couldn't pick a better way to waste all you time and money :).
EDIT: Also, depending on your play surface, go buy a set of these. Make sure they're wet-erase, NOT DRY ERASE. Dry erase stain some play surfaces. Your DM will likely have a set, but they're usually... ahem... well used, and crappy. Buy a set of your own, take a pocket knife and scratch them in a particular spot to mark them, and guard them with your life.
Awesome! That's how I play!
Here's a list of things I suggest as a DM:
Chessex Mat
or [Megamat](Chessex Role Playing Play Mat: MEGAMAT Double-Sided Reversible Mat for RPGs and Miniature Figure Games - 34 1/2in x 48in https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0015IUAAG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_KvY4xbHM414K4)
[Vis-A-Vis Markers](Expo Vis-A-Vis Wet-Erase Overhead Transparency Markers, Fine Point, 8-Pack Pouch, Assorted Colors https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006IFGW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_DwY4xbQVVNKTA) to write on the map
[Starter set of minis](D&D Icons of the Realms: Tyranny of Dragons Starter Set https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LSZQXSY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_.EY4xbCF5B5AH)
Goblin Minis
Search Reaper Minis on Amazon and you'll find some fun stuff
I also use flat glass marbles as place holders for NPCs that I don't have minis for. They were super helpful when I was first starting.
A graphing notebook and drawing paper
Mechanical pencils and a set of his favorite pens
I can't think of anything else
The Chessex Wet Erase mat is the one I use and all my DM friends use (in various sizes). that being said, you'll want a pack of these bad boys, because the fine point really does help.
For minis, they're pretty expensive off that bat so everyone advises to buy them slowly as you need them. Reaper bones have a lot of cheaper mini sets for starting out which are great. Personally I buy a few of the most common enemy and the main bad guy for each campaign. A good and cheaper alternative are pawns that you can use while you build your collection. Or, just print small pictures of monsters and tape them to a coin or washer to make fast minis that have colored pictures.
For cheap/fast 2d terrain, check out papercraft. A lot of people fold and draw on paper or cardboard to make terrain, or you can print out pictures of stuff and add it to terrain. Here is an example from u/cardboard-DM (who makes awesome stuff).
Best of luck!
Are you playing in person? You really don't need minis at all, everything can exist in the theatre of the mind.
But if you like minis (and I absolutely do!), a cheap way to get all set up is:
And done!
Yeah, get yourself a set of overhead projector markers like these. Permanent/wet erase/dry erase won’t work.
Also, pay an extra ten bucks for a Chessex Megamat, not a Chessex Battlemat. Your ranged characters will thank you for the larger area to work with. Chessex has three sizes of the vinyl mats: Battlemat (small, fits basically any table), Megamat (medium, fits dining tables), and Mondomat (better build your own gaming table for this bad boy).
In addition, the mats come with 1.5 or 1 inch squares/hexes (squares on one side, hexes on the other). Be sure to get the 1 inch size as this gives you more squares in the same area, and it properly scales with minis as the players fight larger monsters (a huge mini is four squares, but four 1.5 inch squares is a lot bigger than four 1 inch squares, and the mini will look smaller than the space on the grid that it actually threatens).
First trick is deciding which edition you want to play, for new players I highly recommend sticking to 4th edition, the rules are simpler and combat is generally more interesting. If you guys are brand and are new starting with nothing, I highly recommend picking up the 4th edition DM Manual 1, Monster Manual 1, and the Player's Handbook 1.
If your DM wants to take his hand at designing his own adventures I also highly recommend picking up a wet erase play mat as well as wet erase markers. I recommend wet erase over dry erase as dry erase can easily be wiped off during combat and such.
You'll also want to buy some dice for everyone to use, there are a few ways to go about that, you can mismatch dice from local hobby shops, you could buy dice sets or you could purchase the Chessex "Pound of Dice" for the whole group's use and ease. I, as a highly superstitious gamer, own 2 dice sets of my own and an additional lucky D20 that I don't let anyone touch (as they'll likely suck the luck out of it), so figure out what kind of gamers you are and what dice will best suit you.
As you guys grow and expand you may want to look into getting the other Player's Handbooks, to increase your options as players, as well as the other monster manuals for easier adventure creation for your DM.
I also highly recommend your DM (for his ease in adventure creation) look into reading materials on the internet (easily found for free) to help create the most interesting and fun adventures possible. One I can recommend off-hand is Chris Perkin's (a writer for the D&D books and "professional DM") "blog" called "The DM Experience."
Also if you have any other questions feel free to ask me in a comment or message me, I love to see new player getting into the game and would like to help in any way possible.
Just be sure to have fun, happy gaming :D
That is very cool, but I worry about your ability to stay ahead of your group with the foamcore maps, for several reasons:
I honestly think you're best off buying a good Chessex battle mat and wet erase markers. That will give you the flexibility you need to map what needs mapping and narrate everything else.
Personally, I've opted for a table insert with a high-res TV for digital maps, but that's out of the price range of most.
Huh. They're $3 USD for a 4-pack on amazon
Chessex Role Playing Play Mat: Battlemat Double-Sided Reversible Mat for RPGs and Miniature Figure Games (26 in x 23 1/2 in) Squares/Hexes https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0015IQO2O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_5CxOCbSK7ND37

If I don't have a mini for the monster I need I use a cheap, solid color dice from a big set I bought. Looks like the one I got is no longer being made but this is similar:
Yellow Mountain Imports 42 Polyhedral Dice, 6 Colors with Complete Set of D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20, and D% https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07586H7KJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_1ExOCbK31AJD9
Pathfinders Bestiary Box 1 goes on sale for 20 something dollars sometimes, tons of monsters from the Monster Manual at a decent price:
Pathfinder Pawns: Bestiary Box https://www.amazon.com/dp/1601255616/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_nGxOCbJB02KBK
I wouldn't worry too much about having minis, and terrain, and everything as dnd is more about the imagination and sometimes too much detail at the table can detract from that. My friend runs his campaign mostly "theater of mind" style but has a little tiny dry erase board he draws on to show relative positions and obstacles and it works great.
Hope this helps!
Phew This'll be a long a post, but certainly reward to read by the end of it. Playing D&D/Pathfinder really is the Nerdiest, Nerd thing I've ever done, and it is a lot of fun! Watch +DawnforgedCast's Session 0 video and download his checklist here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0FmGxmJLiw It's meant for a GameMaster/Dungeon Master, but that checklist will help you out greatly in understanding what you want when starting out in a new group, with or without veteran players. If you aren't able to find a group locally (I don't recommend online groups for your first introduction) then taking up the mantle of leadership as the GameMaster/Dungeon Master, can be both exciting and overwhelming at the same time. However, if you're one with a vivid imagination, or are good with thinking on the fly (believe me, it gets better with time) then you'll already have a headstart on the majority of GMs out there. A great beginning module that has a little bit of everything, adventure hook (i.e., reason why your players should be doing this), NPC interaction, wilderness adventuring, dungeon crawling, is the Hollow's Last Hope module for 1st Level Players as it works for both D&D and Pathfinder. You don't really need the print version, since you can download it for FREE at Paizo's website https://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Hollow%27s_Last_Hope
I greatly recommend you get the Pathfinder RPG: Beginner Box ($25-$35) https://www.amazon.com/dp/1601256302 it is a different game, but the rule set is uber-simplified and honestly, superior to the D&D Starter Set ($15), and is worth the extra money. The Beginner Box literally has the all of the beginning needs for play. Pre-generated characters, blank character sheets for the four classes (Wizard, Rogue, Cleric, and Fighter) with either of the three races (Elf, Dwarf, and Human) that are easy to introduce new players to, a flip out map that you can use dry-erase- or wet-erase markers, and permanent markers on (all of which can be erased off, I use these wet-erase makers that are $9 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006IFGW because I'll draw camp fires with brown, yellow, orange, and red colors, green helps with trees and shrubbery, blue for water, and black for everything else), a Hero's handbook, and really, really, good GM guide, plus thick, cardboard punch-out marker pawns of various Monsters, NPCs, Player characters, and other creatures, that amount to a wealth of miniatures that would take a lot of money and time to paint them all up, plus they're easier to store in the box. Unfortunately, it only comes with one set of dice, so it wouldn't hurt to get these on these 7 sets ($12) on the cheap https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MDJNE93 and pass them out to your players, or if they have their own, then you'll have plenty of extra multiples of dice, which will come in handy during combat with spellcasters and sneak attacks by Rogues. I handed them out to my players after they told me what their favorite colors were. =P
That'd would be all you'd really need to start, $30ish Beginner Box, plus $10 for markers, and $10 more if you or your players need dice. Now, what follows is what I used for my first GMing of a game, based on many different people's recommendations. In order to make combat work in a logical way that I could understand, I bought the Pathfinder Combat Pad $20 https://www.amazon.com/dp/1601255470, along with those wet-erase markers from earlier. It's usefulness has been far better, and worth it's price in gold, to use than a cheap $1 store notebook, when I would have to erase or rewrite when players would defeat monsters or would hold their actions, or would tell them the wrong initiative bonus to start (lol!). Again, rather use a dollar store binder, I bought the Pathfinder GM Screen $16ish https://www.amazon.com/dp/1601252161, because it was short enough for me to look over rather than 3-ring binders or a paper folder at the actual game table. Speaking the table, I bought the Chessex Battlemats https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0015IQO2O this is a link to the smaller one ($20), since I bought the Megamat ($35), only because I had a large table, and players could use it as a coaster for drinks too (even though I did have coasters, to prevent spillage). As an added bonus, I recently discovered the Condition cards $10 https://www.amazon.com/dp/1601252854, to use with Pathfinder, and they are great to hand out to players (as you would already know these conditions since it's written behind the GM Screen) so they know what condition they are in at a glance. Keep in mind though, you only get 4 or each, so if you are lucky enough to have more players, it wouldn't hurt to buy an extra set (however, it would be strange if all of your players had the same condition).
Now, let's say you enjoy Pathfinder, and you bought the Core Rulebook $20 https://www.amazon.com/dp/1601258879 (if it's a hardcover, always look inside for the Sixth edition printing, the paperback will already be that edition) but are getting tired of looking up Monster stats online, then grab the Paperback version of the first Bestiary $16 https://www.amazon.com/dp/1601258887 which has the great majority of all of the "regular" monsters in either D&D or Pathfinder. If you're not much of an artist, then there's the recently released Pathfinder Traps and Treasures Pawns Collection $25 https://www.amazon.com/dp/1601259719 but be warned that you only want to place on the board AFTER the players find out what it is or after they trip it since it does have text explaining what it is as a trap, and if you're use the treasure ones, make sure you add whatever is actually printed on the tile is IN the list of treasure you give the players, because they can and will ask about, "can't I grab that cup or sword, it's on the tile?" ;)
Lastly, if you enjoy being the GameMaster/Dungeon Master, the storyteller, the world builder, then I'd recommend getting the Pathfinder Gamemastery Guide $15 https://www.amazon.com/dp/1601259492, which again, can be applied to both RPG games. And if you what better weather effects to throw at your party than what is presented in the CRB and GMG, then Pathfinder Ultimate Wilderness $30 https://www.amazon.com/dp/1601259867 has all that you need, and then some, plus some cool spells and tons of new animal companions and familiars for spellcasters alike, and a new shapeshifting melee-fighting class called the Shifter, which is pretty neat to use (albeit, you may want to check out Paizo's website for any official errata or clarifications, just in case). If you want to actually create a campaign and are having a hard time coming up with ideas, locations, groups/factions, kingdoms, races, then one more purchase, which is what +DawnforgedCast used for his Pathfinder games seen here is the Inner Sea World Guide $45 https://www.amazon.com/dp/1601252692 It is pricey, but again, very much worth it, to create your own world or to use the pre-made world, as well. Remember, the Beginner Box, Markers, and Dice is really all you need, the rest of this is to expand out. I hope this helps you and anyone else out as well. =P

Not exactly blue, but blue-black: Pilot blue-black. 350 ml of ink for $20! Smooth and fairly water proof.
I don't know how much it would cost in Europe, but Pilot is quite cheap in America, especially if you buy it in large bottles. Here's a 350ml (almost 12oz) bottle of black ink for 20 USD. It's also available in blue-black and red. That comes in at
Are you using the speedball nibs in dip pens, or in fountain pens (in which there is an internal ink supply and the pen does not need to be repeatedly dipped into the ink)? If the former, then India ink should work fine. If the latter, you would need to use an ink that specifically says it's for fountain pens.
If you end up needing fountain pen ink for the whole class, I think Pilot's 350mL bottles are the best bulk value around. https://www.amazon.com/Ink-350ml-INK350BB-japan-import/dp/B001P35A74
Could get a Platinum Preppy or Pilot Varsity. I would recommend getting the Pilot MR Metropolitan for under $15. It includes a converter which allows you to refill your pen from a bottle of ink (much cheaper than buying cartridges). If you get the preppy and want to use bottle ink (much cheaper than cartridges), you will need to a converter for $5.
If you want some cheap ink, get [Pilot Blue Black](Ink 350ml INK350BB (japan import) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001P35A74/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_nBJMybE9X0Y0T). It's $22 for 350 mL ($0.06/mL) which should last a very long time. Cartridges are about $0.50/mL.
Haha, pretty much. Heavy glass soda style bottles. 11.83 ounces so nearly the same as a can of soda. Inked up forever for $22!
https://www.amazon.com/Ink-350ml-INK350BB-japan-import/dp/B001P35A74/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1500500408&sr=8-1&keywords=pilot+350ml
They're not fancy inks but I keep over 20 pens inked so I use primarily safe and simple inks these days... and I just love the flow and feel of Pilot's inks.
I remember looking for one a while back, and the only thing I could find was the crappy blue Moleskin that's 3.5" x 5.5".
I ended up ordering a Rhodia Webnotebook from Amazon. They're pretty nice. The pages are a little smooth for my taste but they handle pen and ink pretty well. They've also got a webbed sleeve in the back for holding misc.
The Leuchtturm 1917 is also very popular for dotted notebooks.
I'm using a moleskine grid in A5 and it's been working great as a functional bujo for me. Love that it flips open to every page easily, and that the pages are not completely white! Pretty hardy imo. They have dot journals too, like what you're looking for.
I would say Leuchtturm1917 is one of the most popular options for bullet journals though. Here's the link for one A5 dotted I found on Amazon. Link
I think the best way to get into it is to just do it and see how it works out for you.
My suggestions would be:
If you get the pens above, be careful! Don't leave your journal in a hot car (I haven't yet, thank goodness) and if you do you can put it in the freezer for a bit.
Bullet journaling is not the end-all be-all solution for me, my other primary tool is Habitica. I use Bujo as a calendar and a place to put my ideas down, as well as some important notes.

Scroll down to customer questions! But maybe your journal is a different size
I use Zotero to keep track of my sources for research projects. I use Trello to track game development. I use my own version of journaling in a Leuchtturm 1917 to annotate readings and make lists of all my assignments. Writing with real pen/paper notes helps me remember what I read..plus I kind've miss real writing. Most importantly, for productivity I drink a lot of coffee. I prefer an Iced Red Eye.

La carta non è bella come il Fabriano, ma la puntinatura è comoda.
I will swear by my Leuchtturm 1917 , a set of Microns, and a small ruler.
But in reality, Start with anything you have.
I use the leuchtturm1917 journal
LEUCHTTURM1917 (329398) Notebook Medium (A5), Hardcover, 251 Numbered Pages, Dotted, Black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002TSIMW4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_nRPVDbPYX6ETJ
Leuchtturm1917 makes some awesome journals. 125 sheets of paper. A bit more sheets than rhodias webnotebooks, but the rhodia webnotebooks are 90gsm and leuchtturm1917 is only 70gsm. I think I would probably go with the rhodia because its a bit cheaper and if Im gonna be paying $20 for a notebook then I want the higher quality of paper. But who knows. Im pretty new to fountain pens and fancy paper, so I really cant compare 70, 80, or 90 gsm paper.

This is semi-similar to how I store my collection. What I do:
2 ZenBin trays per release set with one cover
1 of these books for 2 release sets of cards http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-Pocket-Protector-Sleeves/dp/B004T2CBD4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00
How do I use only 2 trays per set you ask? the 'card' section of the ZenBins are perfect for storing a ton of dice. you can store 50 on the a single tray's rails and then 20 more in each card tray.
I've also had some issues with malformed dice making the trays not fit right, so I store 8 to a rail and the rest in the sides. it's not quite as neat but it works quite well and keeps the 'size' of the storage area down while making it easy enough to find particular dice.
Here's the math I did:
AVX 132 8 pages 38 dice 2 trays
UCX 126 8 pages 36 dice 2 trays
AOU 142 8 pages 44 dice 2 trays
ASM 142 8 pages 44 dice 2 trays
JL 138 8 pages 40 dice 2 trays
WOL 142 8 pages 44 dice 2 trays
BFF 138 8 pages 40 dice 2 trays
FUS 143 8 pages 45 dice 2 trays
assuming 28 sets of 4 dice per tray
I have had over the years several different ways, but the one I use today consists of several portfolio books/binders, three ring binders and ultra pro 9 card pages and two 4k card boxes.
I no longer maintain a trade binder. I did when I was younger and played more and frequently visited FNM and game nights. But now that I have moved in to more of a collector role I only play with close friends maybe once a month, so I don't really trade anymore (not sure if the kids still do these days). My trade binder disappeared when I really embraced selling off unnecessary items and started using buylists almost exclusively.
Since these days I do more buying of collections and selling to fund my own collecting I have a great deal of extra boxes, 5k card storage boxes and binders. These are just to organize the sales. Most of the time I sell them with the bulk and replenish with each purchase. From the collections over the years I've acquired a great deal of starter boxes, deck boxes, dividers, stickers, foam inserts, etc that I use in my own collection and to help organize the purchases. These have been some of the most interesting finds, just seeing what other people use to organize is interesting.
I've also purchased shelving from Home Depot to store my collection and the purchases I have going on. Each shelf is dedicated to shipping materials, empty boxes, my stuff or a purchase.
What I see mostly from the collections I acquire is that most use three ring binders for rares/mythics and either separate by color or just leave it to utter chaos (the latter being the worst as its usually shoes boxes and random plastic tubes full, which damage cards).
I like nine pocket Ultra Pro Binders along with any protective sleeve, I would only recommend top-loaders for really expensive, non-playable cards.
Binder: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004T2CBD4/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519272323&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=ultra+pro+binder+9+pocket&dpPl=1&dpID=418qe%2BaF5xL&ref=plSrch
Sleeves: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01J7S0YTC/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519272426&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=Dragon+Shield+Matte+Ivory&dpPl=1&dpID=21kFFKJDwUL&ref=plSrch
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004T2CBD4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
1 for empire (with plenty of room to spare).
1 for Rebel / Scum (with some room for more).
2 for non-ordnance upgrades.
+1 4-pocket binder for ordnance.
That covers core set + 3 conversion kits + reaper&saw
I think sleeve pages for a binder is fine. Though I'd suggest staying away from normal circular binders as the front and end pages could bend or get caught thus ruining those cards. This style of top loader binder is best. When you plan to upgrade I would suggest this Ultra Pro Pro-Binder.
The sleeves matter more than the binder, I'd suggest an Ultra Pro Pro-Binder. Pretty much the same as a Monster Binder, but a helluva lot cheaper! Monster binders are $30+.
They look very cool! Although honestly, I wouldn't have connected them to the transgender flag colors if you hadn't mentioned it. Now, will cis people be able/allowed to use these too, or will it be like Bic for Her?

Yep
https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Monitor-Adjustable-Screens-STAND-V003/dp/B009S7ALH8
This is the one I use and it does a pretty good job. The only thing is it's super heavy so I would get a desk that can support it and sadly the ikea linnmon can't just by itself
I'm using one with a similar design to this one, and I'm very much satisfied. It says it supports up to 24", but if I'm not wrong, those are some dell 25" with tiny bezels to fit well below the 24" max size.
Another one, which looks even more promising
Follow up from this post.
The monitor came in and it's damn near in pristine condition save for very, very, very minimal scuff marks on the bottom front bezel which you can't even see even in a lit room.
No dead or stuck pixels, excessive bleeding, banding or surprises. Still has the AOC sticker on the bezel too! Saved me a cool $250.
Bought a VIVO triple monitor vesa setup but one arm seems to be lower than the other even with max adjusting so I don't know. Maybe I put a bracket on upside down.
I also bought this Jeyi Knight (Lol) M.2 adapter from the land of China for $26 about a month ago and it has lowered my MX500 1TB drive by 5c and my ADATA SX6000 256GB by about 20c while under synthetic stress.
Looks pretty nice too. Not sure how much air it's sucking up in the bottom slow though since it's pretty close to the PSU shroud.
Funny enough, one of the cheaper ones on Amazon. But I love it.

Though it has alot of issues, it barely fit just the 3 24 inchs, the 2 side monitors didn't have an angle due to the arms being to short. The ultrawide in the center is a bit heavy for the mount which i need to add a shim to. To get the 2 side verticals to fit on the side I had to add some custom made steel brackets that extended the vesa mounts out another 5cm.
I've loved this Vivo triple monitor mount. Iirc it supports up to 27" monitors, and once you adjust & tighten the arms it's fantastic.
Thanks! Yeah the different size monitors are far from ideal for multi monitor gaming, but it's not so bad. What I do is set the game to windowed mode, then stretch the window to the dimensions of my screen. Due to my center screen being taller in resolution than my outer monitors, some stuff gets cut off the top and bottom on the side monitors. It's not really an issue, but some games do have their huds on the top and bottom corners. So you have to watch out for that. Running a setup like this though you can not setup EyeFinity or nVidia Surround as the differing resolutions mess it up. But Live for Speed and all Codemasters racing games support the windowed method I've listed. Any other game I just run single screen.
My stand is a VIVO Triple Monitor Stand (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009S7ALH8). If you're looking into doing a triple monitor setup, I would not suggest this stand. I've had my share of problems with it and I can not get my side monitors to sit height centered with my main (so alignments are a bit off in games). Good triple stands are expensive. Once the summer rolls around I'm going to build my own mount to solve my problems.
I'm close with my Rotring 600 FP, 800 mechanical pencil, and ballpoint pen. I also have the semi-matching Rotring plastic stick eraser.
This is the one I ordered the second time:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AZWNS84/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_I6dWE4Xiyuxwl
It doesn't say anything about metal internals, but since it became available more recently (only after the one I ordered the first time ran out of stock) I guessed it might be the new one... no idea if it will be the right one for other people. Many of my favorites have been discontinued or changed.
The Koh-i-Noor Rapidomatic was my primary pencil for my first 4 college years. I even bought a red and blue colored versions to put red and blue lead in, which was nice for graphs or occasional emphasis. Lovely pencils made in Japan. However, looking at the Amazon reviews they no longer make these, but instead something with the same name and general look, but using all new parts and process in China. You can taste the sadness in the reviews. It looks like people are happy with the Alvin Draftmatic which looks exactly like the Rapidomatic.
The Pilot Vanishing Point has been discontinued. Sad. My favorite pencil, made in Japan. See reviews on Amazon. I introduced a number of people to this, and many of them started using it as their primary pencil. My manager even questioned why I had spent $200 on pencils, when I explained I was ordering a couple of these for myself, asked around, and 10 others in the office said they wanted one or two as well (after trying mine). No drafting grip, and shorter, but really good weight, good feel, quality, and I could write well with them.
The Uni Kuru Toga is nice, but too lightweight and plastic for my taste. The price is hard to argue with. I wonder if the Roulette model would be better as it sounds like it might weigh more.
Dave's review site recommends the Staedtler 925-25. I've tried the 925-05 which is ok (my 11yo uses it) but not the 925-25.
If you have more money, the Rotring 600 and 800+ come highly recommended (lots of metal, high quality, made in Japan). I have never tried one, but I'll buy a 600 sometime soon.
For erasers, I use Staedtler Mars Plastic. They last forever -- I still have one from 1985 with more than half remaining and it works fine. I only bought more so the family can each have one of their own. My tips are (1) don't get oil on them or the paper, and get it off if you do. This means don't run your finger along the eraser part. It causes smearing. (2) erase flat if you can, to save sharp edges for fine work. If you always use the edges, then you won't have a sharp edge to change φ' to φ in the middle of an equation.
+1 for Rotring 600 or 800
Also a 4 hole punch would be nice if he wants to make up his own custom notebooks with millimetric graph paper and such.
Here's a link
They're easy to find on Amazon and Jetpens. Jetpens is usually a little more expensive though.
About that... There are tons of examples on Amazon of mechanical pencils that cost more than $10 and have tons of reviews and purchases. Once you get into metal bodied mechanical pencils you can easily spend more than $10 but chances are you'll be able to hand them down to your children they're so durable.
Same here in the uk, the 0.5mm 600 is reduced without having to buy another. Other Rotrings are also reduced.
It's $5 cheaper on amazon.com.

Is this what you're looking for, or something like this?
I used this keyboard for a while till something got spilled on it :(. Very good keyboard especially when you use This wrist rest. Hope that helps! also I prefer brown switches. come check out /r/MechanicalKeyboards ! Its a good community.
>I can't rest the top of my writst/start of palm on anything
Get a wrist rest, there's all sorts of options out there.
>The keys feel like they got a sort of chrome(?) finish to them. It's a really strange feeling and sometimes when I type my fingers make a tiny squeaking noise because I move my fingers from one key to another before the first key is back all the way up.
That's probably just the stock UV coated keycaps. They're the cheapest to manufacture but also don't feel all that great. You might look into buying some aftermarket non-coated ABS or PBT keycaps.
Oh my god yes the Klipsch sound system is incredible! Since my board also has a integrated sound card they sound absolutely insane I was really impressed as I was looking for sound systems to buy online when my friend offered to sell me the Klipsch. As for the keyboard great choice! That was actually my first keyboard and I absolutely loved it! Mx browns are by far the best all round switch there is, it has the tactile feedback that blues do but not so clicky. Since the TK doesnt have a wristpad go with one of these! - http://www.amazon.com/Tenkeyless-Mechanical-Keyboards-Steelseries-Notebooks/dp/B00FPDAU6Q/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1409531997&sr=8-2&keywords=grifiti+fat+wrist+pad
Also if you're interested here's where I got my Trigger-Z - http://www.cmstore-usa.com/cm-storm-trigger-z-fully-backlit-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-with-cherry-mx-brown-keyswitches/
As OP says in the description of the last picture, the keyboard is a Ducky Shine 3 with cherry mx brown switches, and a Grifiti tenkeyless wrist pad.
It seems that OP may have desoldered the old blue LEDs from the keyboard and resoldered white ones to which he has added colour changers, or he simply added the color changers and cranked up the light intensity of the blue LED-s
I think I just got the Grifiti Fat wrist pad.

Depending on your keyboard length.
I like the Gritifi Fat. Pretty cheap, and comfortable. I'd say it's about the right height for my Pro S as well.
A popular one seems to be the Grifiti fat wrist pad, I don't know myself because I use a towel as my wrist pad :)
https://www.amazon.com/Grifiti-Keyboard-Tenkeyless-Mechanical-Keyboards/dp/B00FPDAU6Q
I think there are much much worse ways to spend $15. Unless you have pets or kids, its not going to get ripped up and chewed on.
Edit: I actually have the skinnier version of that. Looks like mine is 2 inches, not 4.
I'd suggest one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/Grifiti-Tenkeyless-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboards/dp/B00FPDAU6Q
I have the tenkeyless version and it's amazing. I'm going to be taking the original wrist rest off my K70 and get the larger grifiti pad to use instead.
My first mech was a brown as well, I found the change over really stressed my wrist out because of the pressure change. Getting one of these really helped out the strain. http://www.amazon.com/Tenkeyless-Mechanical-Keyboards-Steelseries-Notebooks/dp/B00FPDAU6Q

It seems to be Grifiti Fat Wrist Pad, $13.98.

Get whatever size fits you best. Absolutely loving this mousepad and it's so cheap. Stitched edges too so no fraying/peeling.
10$ over your budget, but I use this and it is huge. http://www.amazon.com/Perixx-DX-2000XXL-Gaming-Control-Mouse/dp/B00GB0IFXM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1406659017&sr=8-3&keywords=perixx+dx-2000.
http://imgur.com/ryeSXCe
That looks like a low priced knock-off of this Perixx DX-2000 XXL Mouse Pad. Same size, thickness, and even the seems around the edge are stitched similarly.
I would argue that the extended size Perixx is one of the best looking pads around. Certainly better than that god awful Razer pad.
As for the quality, I have the "Large" version, which is quite a nice pad. Feels good, there isnt any extra resistance when moving the mouse, nor is there too little resistance. It's got the same clean look. The only real downside I have with it, is that it rather minimally slides around on my desk as I have it positioned. Although a simple readjustment and that problem is remedied. The huge extended size one I doubt would have that issue, seeing as it is massive and should get stuck in place.
Perixx. They make a few sizes. Same price as TekMat cleaning mats.

I think it's something like this although it doesn't have the text in the upper right. It's those dimensions though, 900mm by 300mm.
I have this one and have no complaints. It's roughed up a little but I've also had it for like 2 years.
I was the same so i bought this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Perixx-DX-2000XXL-Gaming-Control-Mouse/dp/B00GB0IFXM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1422608832&sr=8-3&keywords=DX-2000 - It has a little logo but not as obvious as razers. Hope this helps :)
Depends what size you want. I'd just look on Amazon and check out the ones with the most reviews and just go from there. I'm personally using this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GB0IFXM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A313151JUUD897
$20 for a big mousepad. You can't go wrong really. Far better value than anything razer sells which is all overpriced.
No, you have to purchase an adapter:
https://smile.amazon.com/Adapter-Bracket-Monitors-G227HQL-G247HYL/dp/B01771Q6U2/
I can't seem to find any in-depth, professional reviews about this monitor. PC Part Picker's list of monitors that are at least 1440p tells me the G257HU is the cheapest one it knows, and it's been like that for months.
There's no VESA mount, but there are adapters for that; this one is $32.
Vesa Mount Adapter for your monitor.
FYI, you can get a VESA adaptor for that monitor since the stand sucks so bad. I had that monitor myself for about a year and a half. I ended up selling it and buying a refurbished dell u2515h instead (same panel, better stand and I/O and comes with VESA mounts). Then I bought a second one on a really good /r/buildapcsales deal and then mounted them both.
Is this VESA mountable? I can't find any pics to say it is.
Edit: No it's not, found the adapter for it though
https://www.amazon.com/VESA-Mount-Adapter-Bracket-Monitors/dp/B01771Q6U2?th=1&psc=1
The reason I have not considered doing the plate myself is because I'm almost certain I won't get them in the same exact spot on multiple monitors. On a triple arm it would be a big deal but I suppose I could get single arms and line them up individually.
I have the same mount as you. Someone else in the thread mentioned that this one will also work: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01771Q6U2
But you have to shave some of the plastic off on the monitor itself. I'm ordering two tonight and will give them a shot instead of the one where it just holds the arm in place.

Acer R240HY bidx 23.8-Inch

Thanks, mate! I'm using this Vivo mount and since this monitor isn't VESA compatible, I had to get this adapter as well.

this is the one I recently bought. been loving it so far.
this is the best I could find in Canada, though if you're located in the US, this is probably better because it has no branding at all.
It's not quite as large, but this mouse mat has no branding, pretty good reviews and it has stitched edges like the mat from Glorious PC Gaming. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AS8ROZ2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_EK2wzbD57WS4X
It's theKazaira extended mouse pad. It's a little thicker than normal mouse pads, which is nice, and it doesn't have any logo distracting my more minimal look. I'm glad you like your set up! It's awesome for sure! :)

They came in basically brand new. No dead pixel, no scratches. 144hz, 1440p and freesync works as advertise. You can get the VESA adapter for about $30 on Amazon and fix that adjustable stand issue.
https://www.amazon.com/VESA-Mount-Adapter-Monitor-XG270HU/dp/B01DAYRXRK/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1485213963&sr=1-1&keywords=XG270HU+vesa
I've purchased two scratch and dent XG270HU's and one of them was pretty much flawless, there was no sign it had ever been used. Another one had a scratch on the glossy part of the base, that's about it.
Excellent monitors that you can't go wrong with in any way, shape or form EXCEPT no vesa and a very short stand. At this price point saying "Oh it's TN," as a con is like saying a Nissan Versa doesn't handle like a Porsche. Stating it as a spec though is important and still important. This does have a quality TN panel as far as TN goes, the colors are nice and weren't washed out on either one I purchased.
As for the orange, eh, I don't see it as a big deal. I'll upload a small album of my set up changing throughout a year so you can see it just blend in with everything or be apart of the mess. Some of the pictures are from timestamp albums for things I was selling hence the multiple keyboards/mess. Album
There is an adapter to vesa mount it for sale on Amazon, it's $31.99 which is a pretty penny but if you must mount it at least you can. A monitor stand would also get you some more height if you need it.
They have made an adapter for the Acer panels for some time now.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M71S9DU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_yKQvDbVVE0WPM
Of course! In this video I mostly used my tombow brush pen hard tip, here is a link: https://www.amazon.com/Tombow-62038-Fudenosuke-Calligraphy-Drawings/dp/B01M71S9DU
And the yellow one is just a tombow brush pen, but I think you are familiar with that one.
I felt the same when I first started. I'm still not the best but with lots of practice, Ive learned to love it! I haven't quite perfected using the Tombow Duel brush pens but I really like using just the Tombow pens with a hard or soft tip! You can find there here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M71S9DU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_35HDzbY161A1C hope this helps :)
They usually come in a pack of both if you get them from an art supply store. I’m sure they have the two pack on amazon. The hard tips just have a stiffer tip for finer control. It’s a lot easier for me to get consistent line width with the hard tips compared to the soft ones.
You can draw with anything my dude. The world is your oyster.

Does she like to do paintings, pen drawings, hand-lettering, markers, tape, collage, or just a vanilla bujo, etc? There are sooo many ways to do a bujo so it's hard to recommend something general that she'll like but doesn't have yet haha. I'm going to assume she either likes to do hand-lettering or marker drawings since she was trying a Tombow blender.
If she mostly writes or does ink drawings - Copic or Micron multiliners in different sizes. The Pentel Pocket Brush is also very good for getting interesting lines down on line art or to combine with watercolor painting, but I don't recommend it as a hand-lettering pen.
Do you know what kind of pen she usually does her normal writing in? A lot of bujo-ers have kind of a favorite brand of cheap-ish pen that they like to use (Muji being one of the more popular ones). If you do, you could get her a fresh package.
If she likes to use markers - well, Tombows are pretty much the de facto bujo marker, even if the blender isn't too good. If she already has some, you could maybe take a peek at her collection and see if there are any colors she doesn't have but might like. For coloring, I also like Brushables markers because they're very pastel/soft, and Zebra Mildliners for highlighting stuff.
If she likes doing paintings and pasting them into her journal, you could get her some watercolor paper.
If she likes using decorative tape, you can find the washi tape aisle at Michaels and pick out some stuff.......but honestly it's way cheaper on Amazon. You can also try looking for flake stickers on Etsy, there are SO many options there, too!
If she likes hand-lettering, my favorite brush pen is the fudenosuke.
She may also like some small rubber stamps (for dates or tiny decorative details like floral wreathes), or stencils (especially for dates or circles).
My absolute most favorite pen to just write with day to day is a Lamy Safari fountain pen, if she's interested in that kind of thing (although that's a very expensive path to go down lol).
The one item that I would be willing to get for pretty much any bujo-er, without knowing their current collection of supplies or what they like to do, would be the fudenosuke pen (they sell it at Michaels, too). They're not refillable, so even if she already has this pen she'll likely need a replacement before too long.
Brush pens are difficult, I didn't intend for you to learn to draw with one, I apologize.
Peter Han is the original creator and instructor of the "Dynamic Sketching" class that is popular for many artists learning today. The creator of Drawabox.com, "Uncomfortable", studied under Han and created the curriculum of Drawabox to be based on Peter Han's instruction, but more simplified and rigid for brand-new students. Both Han and Uncomfortable urge students to learn in pen.
It builds line confidence ,and urges you to think before placing something down. As you build line confidence and critical visualization, you rely less on the guess-work of pencil drawing, and digital-with-undo.
So, better to start off that way and force your brain to catch up, I think.
As for pens, I've been enjoying Tombow hybrid brush pens.
https://www.amazon.com/Tombow-62038-Fudenosuke-Calligraphy-Drawings/dp/B01M71S9DU/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=tombow+brush+pens&qid=1570844600&sr=8-5
They're not actual brushes, more like miniature marker pens. They create very fine lines, like a fineliner, but when you press more firmly you can get some shape to your stroke.
Otherwise, Pigma Micron 08's and Faber Castell .05's are both good and recommended often. Drawabox even sells sets of its own personally recommended pens.
If you want to browse recommendations, check out Jake Parker's blog page, the creator of Inktober:
https://www.mrjakeparker.com/tools
I love Jake Parker, he has such a great temperament. He founded SVSLearn.com with some other great children's book artists, and they have a lot of good instruction.
I'm personally working through the curriculum that I created. I've done Proko's Figure Drawing course, Drawabox up until Lesson 7, and Marco Bucci's "Understanding and Painting the Head".
Now that I've created the curriculum, I will be going through Drawabox again but paying for critique to make sure that I have the best evaluation of my skillset before moving on to more difficult things.
And to answer your original question again, I don't think either medium would hamper your growth. Digital allwos some nice conveniences, like laying down perspective lines really quickly and being able to try out painting without a mess.
But physical is still just as valid, and I still prefer going physical. Dynamic sketching at the zoo with some pens and markers is tons of fun, and I do think it requires the most thoughtful process.
For the lettering I used the this tombow brush pen (soft tip), and stabilo fineliners for the flowers!
Edit: I haven’t posted much on reddit so forgive my formatting! ><
I think its probably the pen you're using. A lot of them have what's called archival ink, so once it dries on the paper (like 2 seconds) nothing else is gonna wash them away.
Micron Pens are really great.
These are my favorite right now:

I'd like to chime in here because I am in the exact same position as you, wanting a note-taking device for college (grad school in my case).
I got the Chromebook Plus Version 1 because of the following:
-form factor - it's basically the size of a regular notepad, so really great for notetaking (I use Squid)
-ability to use linux apps (not that I have, but that I could)
I really like it, and have had a lot of comments about my setup. I got the Staedtler Noris Digital Pencil for handwriting notes - this is an amazing improvement over the built in stylus, which isn't bad to begin with.
I'm not a huge fan of the keyboard, but the CBP might be better. I find it cramped, but am getting used to it.
The surface is soft and marks/scratches. Not sure if that matters to you.
Your biggest challenge will be to find the right combination of apps to make a workflow that is good for you. I work mostly in squid, where I can import pdfs to mark up, and also do handwritten notes on lined "paper", or other types of "paper" markings. Some people choose to send squid documents to Evernote so that they can be OCR'd and thus searchable, but I have found this workflow to be cumbersome. I'm still trying to get the right workflow myself and welcome anyone else's suggestions.
I used a chromebook all the way through my MBA as my exclusive computer. When I did my MS in Data analytics I needed to install specific software on a Windows laptop. Now, in a PhD program, I can do most of my work on my Chromebook which is nice and portable, but I still need my Windows laptop for specific software.
I hope this helps somewhat. If you have the opportunity, get some hands-on time with the device to make sure that it works for you. With using it in tablet mode for note taking especially - the form factor will matter (not too big, not too narrow...)
Happy to answer more questions if you have any, acknowledging that I have a different model than the one you are looking at.

Worked great with my Note 8... all 2 hours until I put it in my back pocket walking to a meeting... then sat down.
Pro Tip- don’t put in back pocket...
Was able to epoxy the parts together, but it was never the same... a bit bent feeling and weakened at the repair points.
FYI: the body of the pencil is just like a normal pencil (even with a lead like center). It only the area that looks like a sharpened pencil tip that has the S-Pen -parts
I've tested the Wacom pen of my Lenovo Yoga Book (ZA0V0256DE) and the Stadtler Noris Digital ( https://www.amazon.de/Staedtler-Samsung-Bleistift-Technologie-gp-u999eripaab/dp/B072N31S7C ). Both worked fine on the E-Pad.

Which one you want probably depends on whether you want a keyboard or not and how much you value screen size, resolution and quality (All except the lenovo are "retina", either 12 inch 3:2, 10 inch Amoled or 9.7 4:3 Ipad screen or garbage for the lenovo one).
Appwise, Inkredible Pro is pretty nice as is LectureNotes. Inkredible has nicer pens and design, but LectureNotes has more features.
Forgot to mention you will want to pick up a different stylus for the Chromebook for heavy usage. The portability is excellent with the provided stylus but it is designed as a "add on" for people doing quick notes rather than the professional artist. My hand does cramp due to the barrel size of the provided stylus. While the ones I linked aren't the only choices you need to make sure you get the ones designed for the older Surface tablets and/or Wacom compatible technology. I think there are a few subreddits posted about this in the Samsung Chromebook subs...
Some choices are:

I bought one of these some time ago
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B072N31S7C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It works really well with my Chromebook Pro and feels more natural for drawing than the original stylus. Of course, it doesn't fit into the stylus slot on the keyboard, so I just keep it in my pencil cup.
This was recently linked on another discussion and might suit your needs:

May be you can try this. I have ordered one.
This one?
Why not buy a Rotring 600?
The Rotring 600s are $18 on Amazon
Here you go! 75 BZR (is that the right abbreviation?) for a .5 mm model
here is the link for the ones who want a direct link
OK, well I have been a mechanical pencil hater forever but that may be unfounded. The quick blunting is a pain in the ass. Would you recommend this Rostring for writing? Expanding my knowledge of pencils is the most productive thing to come out of my Trump hate/fascination today.
That's about the average price for that particular version. FYI, Camel Camel Camel is a must-have tool if you are shopping Amazon. You can track the price history, set alerts when a price drops, and they even have a handy Chrome plugin so you can just click the icon when you are on an amazon page instead of going to the 3camels website. I highly recommend it. For instance, I just got an alert yesterday because the Rapid Pro I was tracking dropped to $22.
I just ordered one a few hours before I saw this post, lol, I guess I made a good choice then.
Amazing has a sale for the .5 600s for $15.
Read the title and came here to recommend getting a mechanical pencil, and it looks like you were already thinking about it!
My rOtring 600 should be here tomorrow. Pretty psyched about it.
A good eraser is also a life changer.
Get yourself one of these well worth the money if you can keep up with your pencils. https://www.amazon.com/rOtring-Barrel-Mechanical-Pencil-1904443/dp/B00AZWYUA4/ref=lp_2599831011_1_1?srs=2599831011&ie=UTF8&qid=1493684267&sr=8-1
/r/mechanicalpencils is a good place to look. Generally it depends on your budget and what you want to do with your pencil. You can get some nice cheap ones (under 5 bucks) like a Pentel Sharp or Pentel Twist Erase, and some slightly more expensive but still cheap ones with gimmicks like the Kuru Toga (automatically rotating lead) and Zebra DelGuard (reduced lead breakage). If you want to spend some more on a more solid and well built pencil the Pentel Graphgear 1000 is a great option for around $10. And then you can keep going up with the Sharp Kerry, Staedtler, rOtrings, and the Orenznero.
Right now though, there's a incredible deal on Amazon for the next three hours, the rOtring 600 for about 9 dollars. All metal, really nice looking, great weight and balance, usually considered a $25 dollar pencil that is pretty close to the top end of nice mechanical pencils. Just don't lose it or drop it!
Are you a student? Or a frequent pencil user? If so..
Rotring 600's fit your budget.
You never got the message?

You can track the pricing on the rOtring 600 0.5mm on Amazon.
I've been tracking the rOtrings for quite some time now and I'd say the prices are actually dropping.
https://ca.camelcamelcamel.com/Rotring-Barrel-Mechanical-Pencil-1904443/product/B00AZWYUA4
You can use this website to help you track the price. Once, the price dipped down to $20.99 and I nabbed three rOtring 600s once I saw that.
It’s the Vivo triple monitor stand for up to 27inch. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B1D03GQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_sWIKAbK07PQM2
This is the mount I bought. It came with a dual monitor bracket, I just swapped them from what's based on the amazon Picture.
Let me know if that's not what you were asking exactly.
Yes and not expensive at all.
VIVO Triple LCD Monitor Desk... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B1D03GQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I've never had a setup like this but I'd imagine you could combine or buy a dual monitor arm with a single monitor mount also attached to it and tilt as needed then retighten the bracket.
Something like this might work. Make sure it will support the measurements and weight of your monitors though.
I've had good luck with VIVO brand - I currently use the following:
http://www.amazon.com/Triple-Monitor-Mount-Adjustable-Screens/dp/B00B1D03GQ/
Easy to assemble, sturdy design, maximum adjustability in all directions. However, I don't know if they have a three-wide one that supports 27 inch displays - their three-wide seems to only support 24's:
http://www.amazon.com/Triple-Monitor-Mount-Adjustable-Screens/dp/B009S7ALH8/
This one, it's bolted to my desk: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B1D03GQ/
I made my own mount to attach the sound bar to the monitor stand as well.
It's actually mounted to my desk, drilled a hole through the top as the c-clamp that it came on would not work with my specific desk.
The stand is a Vivo Triple monitor mount (https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Monitor-Adjustable-Screens-STAND-V003T/dp/B00B1D03GQ/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1540844500&sr=8-7&keywords=vivo+triple+monitor+mount) and I flipped the arms so that the 34 inch screen was on the bottom and the two 22 inche ones were on the top.
This is the exact one I'm using.
It can be a bitch to get right and can easily break a monitor if you aren't careful. Also be sure to put a ton of torque on the positioning bolts once it's where you want it or else it's likely to slip https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B1D03GQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_qme3CbMJFPP1C
VIVO Triple LCD Monitor Desk Mount Stand Heavy Duty & Fully Adjustable 3 Screens up to 30" (STAND-V003T) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B1D03GQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_x1C0CbC10RKRJ
thanks for the reply! I could assume you have the third monitor on its own pole or the wall. Can you elaborate a little on "not quite as nice" for me? I looked at that very mount but I worry about it giving out / losing strength and not being able to keep elevated.

These two are my current top choices:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009S750LA/
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B1D03GQ

My main concern is having the whole thing be wobbly and unstable. I'm not sure my IKEA desk could even handle the weight of a triple mount.... I also would not be able to stand having the paired monitors being uneven / not lined up perfectly if the extension arms sag. >.< so much indecision, I also am thinking about this mount from Dell:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DXYRKLW

I bought one of those for my wife and it takes up about 70% of desk space two monitors on their own would, but it's solid as a tank and I know it will work.
this for the tripple 27in and this would probibly work for the 2 monitors on top if you remove the top mounting point and slide the 2 arms up all the way
Triple head monitor mount

Put one below and two above.
Gives you space for speakers.
Here
I have this and while I use it to have the ultrawide at the bottom and two small ones on the top, it's plenty tall enough that I could turn the monitor sideways if I wanted to. Might even be able to use the dual arm and get 2 ultrawides side-by-side.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B1D03GQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I didn't want to put holes on my wall if i could avoid it. I think I'm going to go with this mount and just not use the middle mount.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B1D03GQ
if you talking about for my legs under the desk, then yes i would agree, i usually end up resting my feet on my subwoofer, i may just get rid of the PC that's under there since i only use it maybe once or twice every 3 months.
For the mounts i use a VIVO Triple monitor mount they works pretty well for my 2x 27" monitors and would recommend it. The worst part was putting it together, granted i never have put anything like that together before.
This might be an option
I am better than this :P I have a couch chair without arms (actually is a part from a corner couch) and I also have couchmaster https://www.amazon.com/COUCHMASTER-Ergonomic-Couch-Gaming-Cushions-Mousepad/dp/B00CCHRJ2Q

On a 40" TV, in 1 meter in front of me.

Grifiti Fat Wrist Pad 14 Is About 4 X 14 X 0.75 Inch Wrist Rest for Tenkeyless Mechanical and Gaming Keyboards (BLACK NYLON) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FPDAU6Q/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_1cKHxb2BBCQJ4
For me, the feel is good. A bit mushy for about a week, but afterwards, if you can touch type, I'd say its perfect. The bumps do help a TON with tactility. As a high school senior, I've only written a couple long session papers on this but from my experience its really awesome. If i have one recommendation for this board for typing, i'd say get a wrist rest since it sits high in my opinion. I got the Grifiti fat wristrest and now I can game and type for hours. (: About 3 months into this combination and i really like it.
edit: like this! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FPDAU6Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_-Mf5ybJMK5A67
You could always get just a keyboard and also one of these.
Massdrop have the CM Storm Quick Fire Stealth for pretty cheap right now, it's a great board and together with the wrist rest it should cost you about $100 depending on shipping.
Grifiti but I've been looking at others such as the Glorious PC Gaming Race to match my mouse pad or the Ducky to match my full size Ducky.
S Pro looks awesome. I have a model down from that, the QuickFire Rapid with brown switches. Amazing keyboard.
I would highly recommend getting a grifiti wrist rest for it. It fits perfectly with this keyboard form factor and makes typing a lot more comfortable.
I haven't used that one specifically, but I have been using this one recently, and I like it pretty well. I had one of those generic gel ones before, and it also worked well.
I have use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FPDAU6Q/ref=s9_acsd_hps_bw_c_x_9 in the past though currently I use a custom cut, sanded and sealed piece of rosewood and am loving that.
If you want a TKL I have the Ducky Zero with reds for gaming and I'm very happy with it. Blue switches are probably nicer but we decided we're gonna go for the quieter ones for now (my partner has a Ducky Shine 3 with browns, those are really nice as well). If you don't need a number pad I would highly recommend a TKL, it's very comfortable and saves a surprising amount of space on your desk.
I would recommend this keyboard and this wrist pad - it comes a bit over £100 but it's well worth it. Or if OCUK has some deals running grab something else, the reviews are quite good there.
actually they have a bigger version that I am swapping for https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FPDAU6Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Same here, only thing I'd say is a real negative about this keyboard is the lack of an included wrist rest. I'll be ordering this wrist rest soon to fix this issue.
I had one, the top layer started peeling off at the bottom of the pad where my wrist was. Now I have one of these and I love it.
If the problem is the depth, check out the 2000XXL, its the same width, just about half as deep.
Edit: forgot an 'x' and link
https://www.amazon.com/Perixx-DX-2000XXL-Gaming-Control-Mouse/dp/B00GB0IFXM
This one is the one I have... its availible in various sizes, plenty thick for daily gaming and minor cushion. It's pretty hardy and easy to clean in case you spill...
Overall dope pad for the price. Going 3-4 years strong still.
3mm is plenty. However if that's a deal breaker I get it, just an awesome price and product if you are not needing that extra 2mm of thickness which IMHO is too much. If you seek more cushion than 3mm an auxiliary wrist rest would better suit you and facilitate that overall comfort/ergonomics without having a extra heavy thick mousepad on the whole surface instead of just where its needed.
The other guy is incorrect. My mouse is a Razer Deathadder, and my mousepad is a Perixx DX-2000XXL. I just got the mouse pad a few weeks ago, and love it. For $20 it's the best mouse pad I've ever seen!
They sure are cushty bro, here you go (It's actually 300 tall not 400). Or just have a search for "extra large mouse mat"
my mouse pad is 35.43"x15.75" https://www.amazon.ca/Perixx-DX-2000XXL-Gaming-Control-Mouse/dp/B00GB0IFXM/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1473668058&sr=8-5&keywords=perixx+mouse+pad
https://www.amazon.ca/Perixx-DX-2000XXL-Gaming-Control-Mouse/dp/B00GB0IFXM?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0
I bought this mouse mat a few months back. Wished I did it sooner. Highly recommend this one and use it alot for gaming. Had a Golthahus and sometimes ill even throw it on top cause its a smaller mouse pad.
Oh haha, that makes more sense.
This is the one - great for the price, it has braided edges, decently thick, and the surface is really nice. It's half the price of some bigger brands which don't even have the stitched edge.
it's this one
Someone already asked that question :)
But anyway it's a Perixx DX-2000 XXL
You can find it on amazon
There is the mousemat http://www.amazon.com/Perixx-DX-2000XXL-Gaming-Control-Mouse/dp/B00GB0IFXM
As for the monitor arm it's no longer made or sold, but it is from a company called Brateck. You may be able to find something similar on Amazon.
I don't have experience with that exact one, but I have this one, which I paid $20 for in February, and I love it. Don't know why the price has gone up so much though.
Here on Amazon. I like it because the edges are stitched. It is really well made and has held up really well.
Perixx (... can't remember how to spell their name for the life of me) makes some nice ones. I have (among others) a DX-1000XXL; it's about 35" by 17". I've had this particular one for quite a while and the edges haven't frayed at all. It does discolor after a while (skin cells, dirt, etc.), but all I did was throw it in the sink and washed it up with a little soap and a lot of water, and it looks (and seems to work) as good as new.
The photo doesn't show it well, but the entire edge is heaviliy stitched over (think embroidered letters kind of stitching). I don't think it's gonna fray anytime soon.
The VESA adapter is here for those wanting compatibility, total w/ deal $110.
https://www.amazon.com/Acer-G257HU-smidpx-25-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B00QS0AKVK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1473097173&sr=8-1&keywords=acer+25+inch+2560x1440
Check out this monitor it is cheaper and uses the same ips 1440p panel. The main difference is that it doesn't have vesa mounting but you can purchase an adapter.
Edit:
Vesa Adapter
Thanks for the link. This one is the one for my monitor. I don't have a mount now, but I might get one later.
Would this work:

I have two of these vesa mounted with these adapters. Love these monitors.
https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Bracket-Monitors-R231bmid-G227HQL/dp/B01771Q6U2
Uhhhh, I think it is not VESA mountable. ):
You would need something like this https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Bracket-Monitors-G227HQL-G247HYL/dp/B01771Q6U2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491765228&sr=8-1&keywords=acer+vesa+adapter+r240hy
That was a perfect answer man I love it! I was thinking about my heatsink but I didn't really put that much thought into it! I plan on stay 1440p 60hz for a good while at least until 4k becomes really affordable you know. The 1080 seemed right up my ally for a perfect 1440p card I was thinking I may just save up some money for it and go for it I've been thinking about that since it came out actually! Would you think a second monitor would be worth it though? I've been looking at these stands
(http://shop.ergotechgroup.com/dual-monitor-horizontal-desk-stand/)
and since theres no visa mount on my monitor i've been looking at these too (https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Bracket-Monitors-G227HQL-G247HYL/dp/B01771Q6U2/ref=pd_sim_147_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=319deaMR3cL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&psc=1&refRID=P59GBKDCGRN950E3GJVR0)
as for the hard drive, I currently have my os on one, games between the other too and just other stuff through on the 1tb. here's my steam profile too im with you on that huge steam library (steamcommunity.com/id/mewe123/) would you recomend a second wd blue 1tb?
There was a 27" model for this one? I thought it was limited to the 25" ones. Anyway, I just bought one too and I think these are what you're looking for

This One is pretty excellent for the price, i've had it nearly 2 years now and the edges still aren't fraying or coming apart at all, mouse tracking is great and it takes nicely to being cleaned with some warm water and soap... really can't beat it for 12 bucks.

i bought https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AS8ROZ2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 on sale for 11 bucks the other week. Its not exactly the same size but its still pretty big and the best part is that it doesnt have the logo. It's pretty solidly made and looks like it will hold up a long time.
If you want a black one this is what my friend uses and it doesn't cost much.

mousepad. The MX is 'black' which I find odd cause it has gold as well.
For my cpu under 100% load with the thermaltake water 3.0 360mm rad they hit 79c right now using mx-4 thermalpaste. With all fans on performance instead of pwm my gpu maintains a nice 71c.
The stand is the vivo duel mount on amazon. Id suggest also ordering a vivo single mount as well as i had to stack the single mount arm on top the duel mount arm to make the monitors the same height.
The adaptor is this:

The mount is this:

Edit: as for exodus i wanted to. It was the only AAA game i wanted but ive had terrible pains with origin and uplay so i pretty much only use steam. When it hits steam ill pick it up
I've looked a bit, and the closest I came to that was something branded "HumanCentric" on Amazon. Check it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DAYRXRK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_xuT3CbYPPD3Q4
Just a heads up, this monitor doesn't have a VESA mount - you have to use one of these adapters:
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01DAYRXRK/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2OWASTCREGEZ0&coliid=I3FXPPHMPTFNUA&psc=1
I bought one of these ahead of my first build (I use it currently as an external for a MacBook). It's a nice monitor but I think the stand and housing are kind of cheap seeming, though I ended up liking the burnt orange bezel.
I'm thinking about trying out one of VESA mounts.

Oh sorry I didn't see that constraint. You can get a VESA mount adapter for it here: https://www.amazon.com/VESA-Mount-Adapter-Bracket-Monitors/dp/B01DAYRXRK?th=1
Looks like there is an adapter in the frequently bought section https://i.imgur.com/1mY3DxE.jpg

Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen 2 Pens Set https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M71S9DU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_w14hAbPZVA0ND
And white pentel gel pen.
Happy stroking ! 😉 (always thin up and thick down)

I don't know if you still need recommendations, but I strongly recommend the Tombow Fudenosuke brush pens! This set has both firm and soft tips, and it dries quicky so that it doesn't smear.
Thank you for that suggestion. I’ll have to look for those.
Sorry the Fudenosuke are made by Tombow not Pentel. This is the two pen set of one hard one soft. The soft is very similar to this is what I have from Pentel IMO. The hard is not quite as hard as Cocoiro but close. It’s also a fine point compared to Cocoiro’s extra fine. I love Cocoiros too tho!
I just bought some Artline Stix. They’re a little more firm than Tombow dual brush but I manage to mash those too. Starting to think I need to try nibs instead lol.
Tombow Dual Brush is great ‘large brush’ for beginners. I would say first do lots of practice with small brush pens and then move to ink and nibs. Tombow Fudenosuke ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M71S9DU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_2pv3AbQ543M8T ) or Pentel Sign Pen ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EN0HCH6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_qGOz3EhHHfH49 ) are great small pen options. And when you feel ready for upgrade, hunt 513 nib and sumi black ink would be great.

Hope this will be helpful!
It's really good I actually recommend a pen for you to use for inking, it's actually considered a calligraphy pen but it's the TomBow brush tip set, one is softer than the other but still firm enough to make really thin strokes or broad strokes here's a link below but these are cheap and perfect for illustration and lettering, archival ink, lettering styles and composition, these are all things you have to be interested in to get further in being a comic book artist. I've had similar aspirations pm me if you got any questions I might be able to help.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M71S9DU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_fmB-BbWGZMN8Z.
Here's some basic things for both calligraphy and hand lettering brushpens and speedball both will work fine for entry level stuffs also some LaserJet paper usually works well.
Thank you. The first one is with a Sharpie brush pen.
Everything else is Tombow Fudenosuke soft and hard tips
Personally I prefer the gas spring monitor arms to a stand. Easily removable from the desk, adjust it to wherever on the desk, and has a compartment on the arm for cabling. Gas Spring VIVO Monitor Arm
The left panel is 1080p 240hz (Alienware AW2518HF) and the right is 4k 60hz (LG 24UD58-B).
The arms are VIVO gas-springs (STAND-V001O)

I have the 2 arm one and have my X34P and an older 27" 1440P monitor on the other arm.
I have the same monitor and use a Vivo mount. The one I use isn't a spring-mounted one (height adjustment doesn't matter as much for my setup), but their parts are generally mix-and-match so the actual VESA bracket should be the same. I would expect this to work for you.

I have yet to buy a new one but another redditor recommended this one
Staedtler Noris Digital Samsung Pencil, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072N31S7C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_kXh.zb1E6FBX8
There seem to be EMR styluses that have a more pencil-like form factor, e.g.: https://www.amazon.com/Staedtler-Digital-Samsung-Technology-GP-U999ERIPAAB/dp/B072N31S7C/
(the Amazon page actually says it's compatible with the Samsung Chromebook Plus).
Another option that I have heard of is
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072N31S7C/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I6L1DA9PZ285X&colid=2632UOJM729N1
I believe it will work as well, but I do not have a plus/pro to test it on yet.
Snapping Android windows came out last week in Chrome OS 65 😁
I can't say for certain because I haven't used a Wacom pad recently, but I believe Chrome OS does support them natively. Swear i tried one on my old Cr-48 I think. Just buy from somewhere with a return policy and try one out!
I've had trouble finding docks with 2 USB C female ports (same for battery packs), seems to just be because of the times. In the future I'm sure they'll exist.
Finally as a side note, if you're into using the stylus (on your Chromebook screen), someone on Reddit once suggested this, and it's pretty awesome: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072N31S7C
This one is like a pencil: https://www.amazon.com/Staedtler-Digital-Samsung-Technology-GP-U999ERIPAAB/dp/B072N31S7C
Lots of people love the Staedtler stylus (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072N31S7C) ... I think it's pretty neat but I'm not a fan of carrying extra shit around, so mine stays next to my bed 24/7.
I did pick up a GearVR and ... ehhhh... some people love it but I just am not impressed by the quality of the games available nor by the quality of most 360 YouTube videos. I mean you can pay $8 for a game that nobody would play for FREE if it weren't for the novelty of wearing your phone on your face.
Otherwise, it depends what you want to do, maybe get one of those attachable lenses to enhance the camera. Maybe get a case that can hold a couple of credit cards and cash so that you can try to go without a wallet.
Remember it is using Wacom proprietary tech. So find a Wacom stylus that you feel perfect is limited. .

You are better off taping/modding the pen.
The 1st Gen Surface tablets had a Wacom screen pen. You could look for those. Only the first and 2nd Gen Surface. But that will be old tech in terms of pressure sensitivity.

Wow. I hate to say this, but this is a classic case of why a nobody should ever sign a legal document without a lawyer reading it first. Trust but verify.
The good news is, if you have been doing 50/50 shared since 2011, you can easily get this changed. (at least, in my state you can.)
Get a spiral bound notebook (not looseleaf--spiral bound or a hardback journal like a Moleskine) and begin recording a journal. Write down the dates that you pick her up, the dates that you drop her off with BM. Write down all the events that you attend with SD ("you"= Husband moreso that you specifically in this circumstance) and note if BM was there or not. Don't speculate what she was doing or make any comments about her behavior. Just note if she was there or not.
Build up a document with 6-8 months of documentation (better yet, a year) for the custody, and you can go back to court for an amendment. You can make the case to the judge that this has been the pattern of custody and visitation since 2011. Request a modification of the custody to reflect the default. Most judges will accept that modification because it is already what the two parents are doing.
If you can look back on your calendar and "rebuild" a journal going back 3-4 months or longer, you won't have to wait the full year to accumulate enough documentation.
I agree, a nice zipper pouch like this or a nice leather journal
I have no issues with the Moleskine paper, and quite enjoy writing on it. The only product that has some bleed-through is my soft-cover, and even that is negligible.
The Leuchtturm doesn't have a bleed-through problem, but a drying-speed problem. It dries so incredibly slowly that I had to sit for nearly 30 seconds to let some of the ink dry. This isn't a problem the Moleskines have. Writing with the pen turned upside down (finer point) shortens drying time, but is also annoying. I can't write in paragraphs without smudging, a problem I don't have with Moleskine.
These galleries may or may not demonstrate what I'm talking about, I don't have a great place to setup for photos at the moment (plotting for NaNo and some freelance work has my desk full of papers). It's also 3AM and I haven't slept in slightly over 48 hours. I'm adding Amazon links, but only because I have a tough time differentiating, and figure some others might as well. Interestingly, I had to take these pictures on my music table - the notebooks were all laying on "The Ink Spots" album.
Moleskine Classic Large, Ruled A
Moleskine Classic Extra Large, Ruled A
Moleskine Folio A4, Squared A
Leuchtturm1917 Medium, Dots A
I can write in the Leuchtturm (I'll never remember how to spell that) when I hold the pen (Sheaffer Imperial 440 - not my pic) upside down, but I really dislike doing that.
It could be the ink, I use Waterman Intense Black (Encre Noir - so much better that way). I am almost out of my 50mls, so I'll need new ink soon. If anyone wants to recommend a good ink for the Leuchtturm, I'll give it a go.
I will say that I do prefer a rougher texture. I enjoy the sound a rougher paper makes, and I like the feel of it under the pen. If I can't hear or feel the pen, I don't enjoy writing.
I personally find all this talk of "leagues" to be ridiculous. It shouldn't matter how expensive your notebook is. All that matters are these two questions:
For me, Moleskine notebooks are both "Yes." For Leuchtturm, it fails on the first. If it's an ink problem, I'd very likely convert if I found an ink that cooperated.
Secret santa için bu da sanırım.
Ben de katıldım da, ne yapacağıma karar vermedim daha. Türkiye'ye has birşey mi yollasam diye düşündüm benimkisi için... Cuma'ya kadar yollamam gerek.
Neyse,
defter felan seviyorsa Moleskin alabilirsin belki, iyidir.
I don't user nicer paper for everyday use because frankly, I go too it too much to be constantly buying more, but I do keep a couple of nice notebooks for special purposes.
Here are the links to the aforementioned:
Rhodia notepad (in hindsight I wish I'd bought the wirebound one, but I got mine from my university bookstore on sale along time ago).
Moleskine (you could probably get the same quality paper for cheaper btw, Moleskine is definitely nice but usually considered a tad overpriced for what it is).
It should still work. It only applies to books that are shipped and sold by Amazon... and only up to $10 off. So try this one. It should apply.
Non-affiliate-link and link to graph paper moleskins
Have tried out moleskins? There usually hit or miss for most people. I use them for drawing/sketch and they hold up pretty well for both Muji pens and Midliners.
Moleskine Classic Notebook
It's a brand that sells journals and leather notebooks. Here is an amazon link.
Just under ten.
Strawberry Bubblegum
As a writer, I am in desperate need of a new Moleskine notebook, as the one I'm currently on is almost out of room.
HELLO JOURNAL BUDDY, i also have a journal cover from them, albeit it a griffin on it. BECAUSE GRIFFON IS THE OBVIOUS CHOICE.
Anyway, you can use any of the standard “moleskein-size” journal. You can easily get an actual moleskein in lined paper, [like so] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/8883701127/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1526966631&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=moleskine+notebook&dpPl=1&dpID=41fxhUdMTNL&ref=plSrch) but they are pretty expensive since they’re the most popular name brand. you also can get knockoff versions that are cheaper and just as good. piccadilly is a perfectly fine brand.
also pro tip, if you get one with an elastic band, no worries, just cut if off. that’s what i did for mine when i put a bullet journal-type book in it.
D&D Basics (Getting started)
The Absolute Basics
First you will want to grab either the Basic rules (Free), the Starter Set (Cheap), or the Players handbook, Dungeon Masters Guide, and Probably Monster Manual
Then you need to have at least a few items
The starter set is nice because it does a bunch of the work for you, it has an easy to follow adventure, pre-made characters, Dice, and rules for the DM and players. And at half the cost of just the players handbook AND including an adventure, it is an incredible value.
Once you finish that then looking at at least a players handbook for the extra races, classes, backgrounds, and other things is a good deal. That should let you run free adventures people have put online.
The DM's guide will let you get deeper into rules and the right way to call them, break them, and make them.
The monster manual can be a great tool to make better encounters.
If you want to run a commercial adventure after the one's included in the starter set, "Tales from the Yawning Portal" includes the Sunless Citidel, considered by many to be an excellent adventure for those new to the game and just recently brought up from 3.5e into 5e
Common Tools of the Trade
As you start running more complex adventures you are going to want to have a few tools to keep things moving, either as a player or as a DM.
As a Player
The bare essentials every players should have are listed above, but most players agree having a few extras can make the game run really quick.
Spell Cards
These cards have all the spells available for specific classes or from specific books on really well organized cards that make it easy to set aside your prepared spells and quickly reference all the core details.
Cleric, Arcane, Ranger, Druid, Bard, Paladin, Martial Powers and Races, Xanathars Guide to Everything
Binders & Sheet Protectors
Keeping everything neat and organized can be a huge time saver and make it much easier for you to find what you need. Binders can be a great way to keep your notes and other materials organized. In addition many sheet protectors easily erase dry erase markers making it easy to keep track of spells and other changes without ruining character sheets with constant erasing.
As a DM
DMs have their work cut out for them. But a few simple tools can make the game run smooth and leave everyone having that much more fun.
Index Cards
A set of index cards can go a long way to speeding up the game. Players can put details on spells or magic items on them. You can prepare loot for the game ahead of time and hand it out allowing players to look over the gear as the game continues. You can also use them to hide portions of a battle map or commerical map to give the effect of fog of war.
Game Mats
A game mat let's you make single maps by drawing on them with dry erase or wet erase markers. Many are made of vinyl and can last a long time. Normally they will have either 1" squares or hex shapes.
Minitures
These things can be expensive, but giving your game that 3D upgrade and helping players better manage space in a game can be well worth it. You can use actual miniatures (Like those from Reaper), Create custom ones on Hero's Forge, or even just buy some cheap stand in tokens from Game Mash.
If you just need a cheap way to keep track of positions army men, bottle caps, colored game pieces, and even legos can all play the role.
No matter what you use, you can pick up colored rubber bands to mark status conditions or other information.
Where Can I Play?
You can find tons of places to play D&D.
Also:
Critical Role - Voice actors playing DnD, Matt Mercer (The DM) is an amazing Dungeon Master and shows how the game should be played.
Matthew Colville - Amazing videos on being a DM, must watch material for every DM. Even when your opinions differ he gives good reasons and great advice.
Compendiums
These let you ciew all the free open rules (SRD & Basic Rules) for D&D 5e at no cost.
Roll20 Compendium - Has all the open rules for the game, so a good source for monsters, items, spells, etc.
DnDBeyond - A more official source for the content, plus you can buy all the materials released by WotC to use, and has a great character builder.
Adventures & Maps
DMsGuild - Tons of free and paid adventures and other materials. The quality can be varying, but many are free and that can be great.
/r/dndmaps/ - What more can they say, D&D Maps.
Mike Schley Makes many of the maps for the D&D Adventures.
Here's what I did.
First, go make your spell cards at this site. Print settings can get a bit wonky, but the cards look cool and the spell lists are fairly complete:
http://www.thegm.org/perramsSpellbook.php
Next, shell out for a cool binder. This one is nice:
http://www.zazzle.com/spell_binder_1_5-127723018411879163
Third, buy a load of page protectors:
http://www.amazon.com/25-Ultra-Pro-Protectors-Baseball/dp/B000PWZU4E
I chose to sort my spells by level and by alpha order. It's been effective thus far.
Finally, get a bunch of Vis a Vis Wet Erase Markers:
http://www.amazon.com/Expo-Vis-A-Vis-Markers-Colored-16078/dp/B00006IFGW
When you prepare spells, you just put a dot on the plastic over that spell. Erase it when you cast.
The only pain so far has be re-alphabetizing spells when I learn new ones. Still, that's a small price to pay for having a literal spellbook at your table.
Edit: Oops! Just realized what sub I'm looking at. Ummm... instead of Perram's spell cards, you could use this one:
http://www.dnditalia.it/pcc
Or just buy this malarkey: http://www.amazon.com/Arcane-Power-Wizard-Cards-Accessory/dp/0786953551/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1371571218&sr=1-2&keywords=4th+edition+wizard+power+cards
A bit off topic, but seeing someone who uses erases/rewrites stuff on their character sheet makes me cringe now after I swapped to the below setup.
Brother, buy yourself some cardstock and some sheet protectors and either wet-erase markers with some spray OR dry-erase markers.
Write everything really nice and neat, only write on the sheet when it's a more permanent use, and everything that can change during a session is written on the sheet protector with the marker. I prefer the wet-erase because I can pack up the character sheet between sessions and nothing gets erased, but that's really personal preference.
Nope, she used those wipeable markers...these
You can get wet erase markers.
I started with a thing of crayola washables from walmart (cost like $2) but found they took too long to "dry" and not smudge. So I upgraded to expo wet erase markers when they were on sale. After a couple of seconds you are able to touch the lines you've drawn which means you can add stuff on the fly easily and keep it looking semi nice.
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00006IFGW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_DMSFDbMVHWMDX
I use Vis-a-vis or Staedtler markers. The most important thing is to clean your mat as soon as you can. Do not leave markers on there over night or they will stain. You can also take some rubbing alcohol to it to make sure you get every last bit off.
What really helped my new players was printing this simplified map and laminating it. Then get a handful of Expo vis-à-vis colored pens. It lets the bobbies keep track of reasonable eliminations, mark possible paths, and better coordinate without informing Jack between rounds.
I strongly recommend wet-erase; dry erase gets everywhere and doesn't hold up when passing the map around.
Unless it's a sharpie these markers are wet erase, so a damp paper towel it'll come right off. A sharpie might ruin a white board, I've never had to get it off one before.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006IFGW/
if you can find the 3rd edition dnd starter set, one buy is all you need. just use 5e rules. if you want to make your own stuff, this will take care of the exploration and battlefield:

all of that's on amazon, but you can get it other places.
I was raised (almost literally) playing with minis and a battlemat. I helped my dad build a magnetic dungeon board set when I was about 7 years old. I played recently with a relatively new group of my college age friends who were doing theatre of mind, and I was miserable.
A lot of actions specifically denote spacing, which is very difficult to do in theatre of mind. Attacks of opportunity, spell/attack range, etc all get kinda weird when it's just spoken and imagined. I am certain that other people are better at keeping track of it all, and more experienced DMs could make it more interesting.
I know I am personally extremely biased, but about half way through the session we were supposed to storm a castle, and there was no way I was going to try to keep the different passageways straight in my head without a visual representation. I went out to my car and brought in my tackleboxes of minis, battlemat, and vis-a-vis markers. The DM was a little apprehensive at first, but most everyone seemed to agree that the minis and mat were far superior after playing for about 10 minutes with them.
One of the player's made this analogy: [Theatre of Mind] is like a text based RPG, while minis and the battlemat is like playing Skyrim.
ninja edit
I didn't address prices. Minis can be very expensive. If you get the pre painted figures, they are unbelieveably costly. Here is a site that has all sorts of figures. Their search bar is amazing.
Here is a link to a battlemat on amazon. It may look pricey (I don't know your budget) but this mat is worth more than you can imagine.
Here is a link to a pack of markers that should do the trick for drawing any kind of terrain/buildings/caves you like. Just dip a spare rag or paper towel in some water, and the lines come right off.

Have you tried vis-a-vis?

They're referred to as overhead projector pens as well.
Oh! If you're interested in Pilot's Blue Black, on Amazon there's a 350mL version in a glass bottle imported from Japan that works out to be great value for money. Here
350mL of Pilot blue/black
Diamine, tons of colors and are affordable (especially in Europe) many colors are dupes of more expensive inks out there. They likely make ink for other companies that sell ink but don't have ink manufacturing capabilities, like Akkerman. They have a lot of great colors, but their water resistance is generally low.

Noodler's would be the ton's of colors and affordable US company but he's a 1 man show so people don't have much faith in him combined with his political views he's one of the more controversial company/people in the fountain pen world. He seems to experiment with inks and ink properties so he has some interesting water resistant colors and UV glowing colors out there.

I like water resistant inks so I'm a fan of Pilot Blue and Blue Black, Platinum Blue Black, Platinum Classic Iron Gall series, Platinum Pigment ink series, and Sailor Nano-pigment Seiboku and Souboku.

If you're looking for great bang for buck blue ink, I would buy a 350ml Pilot Blue Black bottle for 20 something dollars. But you'll need another bottle to put that into, so either an empty bottle or another bottle of a nicely shaped Pilot Blue Black.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001P35A74/ref=psdc_490677011_t1_B001P2XUAY
The Pilot Blue-Black is only 350 mL, not a full liter. If you're willing to wait for slow shipping, it's only $22.

If you want a full liter of ink, you can get some Pelikan 4001 from Amazon Germany for only €26.45 plus shipping.
Zycc Navy Blue if you want mysterious and cheap ink.
Pilot BB for a reliable daily ink. Their 70ml bottles are the most practical and they have 350ml bottles too.

So I use a blank moleskin, but I know a lot of people RAVE about the Leuchtturm 1917 with the dotted grid, so I may upgrade to that soon. Apparently the grid is a life changer.
Edited to add link so you can add it to your wishlist if you want
> https://www.amazon.co.uk/LEUCHTTURM1917-329398-Notebook-Medium-numbered/dp/B002TSIMW4
Thanks for this! :D
A5 is my preferred form factor and it seems like there is a definite lacking in that size for good notebooks that aren't lined or blank. I'm currently using some random shitty one I found on clearance at Target that is gridded, which is sort of almost as good as dots or crossfield. Leuchtturm is probably your best bet.
http://www.amazon.com/Leuchtturm-Medium-Notebook-Dots-LBL14/dp/B002TSIMW4
I'm not really sure what the difference is the single column journaling format looks like how I'd imagine a wide margin Bible, but with lines for writing. Do you want lines?
Depending on what you mean by "extensive note-taking" you could also look at an interleaved journaling Bible, or do what I do and find a Bible that you like and put your notes in a notebook.
Sure! How old is she? I highly recommend she start with a dotted Leuchtturm A5 (https://www.amazon.com/Leuchtturm1917-Medium-Dotted-Hardcover-Notebook/dp/B002TSIMW4) and maybe some pocket notebook like the Moleskine (https://www.amazon.com/Moleskine-Notizhefte-Kartoneinband-3-er-Set-packpapierbraun/dp/8883704940/) ones - great for field notes! I use this setup. Also, get her some pencils and stuff to draw! Just the other day I put this in my small notebook: https://i.imgur.com/8BXh2BQ.jpg. It's about having fun!
I'd love to talk to her about it!
I currently use a gridded Moleskine, which has been great so far.
However, I just received a dot grid Confidant from Baron Fig for the coming year and it seems an awful lot like it might permanently replace my Moleskine. Thicker paper, shorter and wider. No pocket or elastic strap, but goddamn it's simple and gorgeous.
The Leuchtturm 1917 is also popular. If I decide I like my Moleskine better than my Confidant, this is probably what I'll switch to. I get the impression that it's quite similar to a Moleskine, but maybe built a bit better, heavier with the pages, and also is available in dot grid.
Sure.
Rhodia pads: Most people will mention these. Extremely smooth, very fountain pen friendly. So smooth, however, that inks like Noodler's Black that are formulated for crappy paper take forever to dry on it. They also come in books. Most people get used to the dots and never go back.
Clairefontaine: I'm not familiar but people mention them a lot and they seem like a very economical choice. I think they're more popular in Europe as school notebooks.
Midori: The Japanese don't mess around when it comes to writing. While basically naked compared to Leuchtturm or Moleskine, these have buttery smooth paper that while thin, feels fantastic to write on and doesn't bleed. There's a coveted cotton version (important because cotton is archival and good for watercolor) but I've never been able to track one down. It doesn't help that the online american outlets are poorly translated and usually don't know what they're packing since they look the same. See also: Apica
Leuchtturm 1917: A great journal or idea book, basically a Moleskine with better paper and perks. I used this as a daily journal. The pages are thin enough that you get ghosting especially with darker black inks but I write on both sides anyway.
If you're looking for a sketchbook I've spent a little too much time researching them and I think Stillman & Birn are really the one and only choice. Not only are they cheap by a price/sheet ratio but the quality is outstanding - extremely durable binding that tolerates being turned inside-out, thick paper with a variety of finishes so you can make a decision of what suits your medium. Epsilon or Gamma are the way to go for pure line ink work, though I've gotten away with light washes.
Hope this helps, enjoy your pen.
This is the notebook I use. Its fancier but I like a bigger notebook, indexable pages, and multiple little ribbon bookmarks.
This is a custom order for a cover for this notebook. Shoot me an email/PM if you're interested in a cover of some sort.
I always travel with a notebook. It's very nice too. Leuchtturm. I also travel with a fountain pen. However I use those for work. I bullet journal for my work stuff. For other stuff I have a rain proof memo pad and a fisher space pen (the little bullet one). That's been fine for just jotting down notes and stuff. That notebook has held up to a lot of abuse though. I only go through maybe one a year, but they are a pain to replace overseas (I wasn't able to), just FYI.
It's a Grifti 12 inch wrist pad.
http://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Keyboards-MacBooks-Notebooks-Neoprene/dp/B004DANDN4.
If you have a TKL, you should get the 14 inch, if you have a full sized keyboard, get the 17 inch.
I use one of these with my Noppoo, really enjoy it.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/30-4x10x1-9-Mechanical-Keyboards-MacBooks-Notebooks/dp/B004DANDN4/ref=pd_sim_computers_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=1D9KCBABH8V6WCNRY4VG
Which MKB did you acquire? Mine's a 60% MKB, the wrist rest will definitely work well for you and your wrists will thank you for it.
This is the one I purchased, remember don't get the nylon one since it frays easily. Grifiti Fat 12 Neoprene wrist rest
after about a couple months or so of use you can see the surface layer peeling on the bottom left of the pic, so if you want something you can use a long, long time probably not for you, but they're relatively cheap so getting one every 4 months or so wouldn't dig into the wallet too bad. I just flip it to the other side when I use it, I reoriented just for the pic.
performance-wise, it's awesome, doesn't make my hands sweaty, stay still really well, elevates the wrists to a good height; typing without it is uncomfortable now
I use one of these, it's quite comfortable but it's ugly
https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Keyboards-MacBooks-Notebooks-Neoprene/dp/B004DANDN4
If you're seeking a cheap wrist rest, I suggest a Grifiti wrist rest. If you're in no hurry you could try buying a larger one + mouse rest in Massdrop's current group buy, or wait for the mini wrist rest to come around again.
I have a used blue mini wrist rest I'm willing to sell but it's got dust marks from my wrists from use. Still in good condition besides dust. PM me if you want it.
If you want the foam/squishy rubber type, Grifiti 12 is what you want. https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Keyboards-MacBooks-Notebooks-Neoprene/dp/B004DANDN4
Edit: check out grifiti's website for other options in that size, like slim version, leather, etc.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004DANDN4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_7YR.BbPHMD8DS
Unless you already have one I'd suggest getting a wrist rest, they saved my hands. https://smile.amazon.com/Grifiti-Mechanical-Keyboards-MacBooks-Notebooks/dp/B004DANDN4/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1499478863&sr=8-5&keywords=grifiti%2Bwrist%2Bpad&th=1
It's one of the best $12 I've spent
I ended up buying it from Amazon. The layout is US, and the top row of keys have some kind of scratch in the same place almost like when you twist plastic from plastic when building model kits? But either way the keyboard is amazing and it was £20 cheaper than the other ones listed in the UK Layout.
I also bought this Wrist Rest made by Grifiti and its perfect!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004DANDN4/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
i like it so far
I really like the one on Drop right now, but for the time being, I use this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004DANDN4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The only downside is the neoprene will eventually start looking crappy after a few months of use, but hey - it's only $15.
This is what you want. I got this, and I can't be happier. Just sleeve them up before you put the cards in. I used Ultra Pro Sleeves but penny sleeves work just as well!
Nope, not sleeved, although the binders I use have a cloth back to the pages and the slots are slightly bigger than what you're probably used to from your childhood.
This vs. These
I use two of these binders.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004T2CBD4/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_QXxFxbFVYEGPJ
Each pocket has enough space for a full set of kingdom cards. I organize the cards by cost, then alphabetical order. This makes it really easy to browse the cards, especially when introducing the game to new people.
I keep the non-cards and tokens in a Tupperware box.
I have all but the last two expansions.
Definitely go toploader for anything that isn't base or even less valuable parallels.
But If you really enjoy the look of pocket pages, I'd suggest a side loading book like one of these:
Ultra Pro 9-Pocket Black PRO-Binder https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004T2CBD4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_hrC5Cb8VJQ0H8
Ultra Pro 9-Pocket Black PRO-Binder
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004T2CBD4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_CkI0Cb2M8B668
Probably this one. I have three of these for DBS, Magic, Pokémon, and baseball cards. Been using them for years. They’re fantastic.
first i think you are referring to binders, if this is the case would advise against any 3 ring style regardless of manufacturer, the rings can (will eventually) leave an impression on some of the cards.
the binder i use for storage (have ~20 of these) is this:

Here is a post I made earlier about getting into the game.
>To give you an idea on deck building, here are some information that you will find helpful.
>https://www.reddit.com/r/pkmntcg/wiki/budgetdecks
>Now, I will also give you some important information what stuff you need to play your deck.
>Purchasing cards
=============
>For purchasing cards, I recommend buying a booster box and an elite trainer box for each new set that comes out then purchase singles. An elite trainer box also gives 5 of each Energy type and burn and poison markers as well as nice dice! One for flipping and the others for keeping track of damage They're made of acrylic, not cheaper cardboard that come with preconstructed decks.
>Sleeves
============================
>Also, I can't stress this enough but, you need sleeves. I recommend Ultra Pro Matte Sleeves. You would need 66mmx91 mm ones to fit Pokemon cards.
>http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-PRO-MATTE-Protector-Sleeves/dp/B00A3H7PEE/ref=pd_sim_21_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=51bmSHgIiHL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR143%2C160_&refRID=0FNV83F2P22B2ZK6RXEK
>You can never have enough sleeves. Extras are used to replace ones that look worn out. If you play with worn sleeves (marked) you can get in trouble.
>Playmat
>======================
>Another important thing is a play mat. I really don't like seeing players struggle to scoop up cards on the table instead of a mat; damaging their sleeves in the process!
>Deck Boxes
>==============
>Get a couple deck boxes. I prefer boxes that match the colour of my sleeves. These tower ones are the ones I use. They store a lot of cards and you don't need dice bags to store your dice!
>Dice
>=====================
>Lastly, you need dice. They are used in place of damage counters and coin flipping. For coin flipping die (in competitive play we use them instead of coins), you need a clear one. The rules state you need to.

>Storing cards
>=============
>I store cards in a mix of binders and boxes. For binders, you either can use these or try to save some money and get these and these

Amazon.ca?
Talking about these? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004T2CBD4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
Was thinking of getting some of them. Can fit two full sets in one.
I use this binder.
After getting a binder, I found that keeping deployment cards and mission cards in a binder was useful. But a lot of stuff (like agenda or command cards) are much easier to handle with just ziplock baggies.
My Ultra Pro binder holds all my ship and upgrade cards quite well. Sorry for the poor quality, I'm entirely using my phone.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004T2CBD4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 is my ultra pro binder
I think its good, if not please link better binders. Thanks!
I wouldn't put nice cards in a regular binder with card pages. If you have stuff you really care about, get a purpose-built side loading card binder. If you are going to stick with a regular binder, make sure it's a D ring so that the cards don't get warped during storage.
I use this sort of binder > ultra pro
It should be subject to the same sort of mockery as the Bic for her pens. Needlessly gendered products are annoying as hell.

I just felt like posting this here.
This one: http://www.amazon.com/Triple-Monitor-Mount-Adjustable-Screens/dp/B009S7ALH8
Honestly, I'd recommend getting a free-standing one over the one I have. The clamp is warping the wood of my desk a bit.
If you put a monitor on the cubby and angle them in, you can fit three 24" monitors. I ran two Dell E2414HM's on the sides and an S2415H in the center, all on their regular stands (though I eventually cut a whole in the back to fit a triple monitor stand).
It's surprisingly not that wobbly. YMMV because it's still a snap-together desk, but shakiness has never been an issue with mine.
Im looking to use a triple monitor setup of a 27 in monitor in the middle, and two 4:3 17in monitors on the sides. Im trying to find a triple monitor mount, and ive found this two:
1- https://www.amazon.ca/Articulating-Triple-Monitor-Mount-Swivel/dp/B005HYDG00/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1462299089&sr=8-1&keywords=triple+monitor+mount
2- https://www.amazon.ca/Triple-Monitor-Adjustable-Screens-VIVO/dp/B009S7ALH8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1462299102&sr=8-3&keywords=triple+monitor+mount
The SIIG mount would definitely fit my setup, but it ends up being $70 more, so im wondering if the VIVO one would be able to manage with my setup.
The monitors im using are a Dell S2740L and two HP vs17's.
Thanks guys!
This is the mount I bought - I used to have a triple monitor setup but when I moved to a 34'' UltraWide I ripped the left and right arms off and now am using them for the Hotas.
https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Monitor-Adjustable-Screens-STAND-V003/dp/B009S7ALH8
Edit: Looks like that mount above is no longer available - this one would probably work as well -but I dont own it so I can be 100% sure on the length of the arms:
https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Monitor-Adjustable-Screens-STAND-V002/dp/B009S750LA/ref=sr_1_6?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1475257585&sr=1-6&keywords=vivo+desk+mount
VIVO
Yes there is, here's the links to the triple monitor one (canadian price, idk where you're from)
the stand version
the clip-on version
You can get a stationery monitor mount, which allows you to pull the screen closer, tilt, and rotate, but doesn't allow individual height adjustment for each monitor such as this.
Or you can get three individual mounts, which allow full mobility (up, down, closer, farther, & rotate) such as this.
There's double/triple versions of these as well. Double. Or Triple.
Good brands include: Ergotron, Ergrotech, VIVO, & Amazon's version. Mount-It and Cable Matters both make some as well, but I haven't used these ever.
$35 on massdrop is actually a decent deal, currently $58 on Prime
Ordered the mounts you suggested here: https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Monitor-Adjustable-Screens-STAND-V003/dp/B009S7ALH8
How did you build the bracket exactly? I have the DXRacer King Series chair. Would be nice to play away from my desk with the controls at proper height finally.
EDIT: Just saw you had a local welder do it. Would you be able to get it duplicated and send to me? Will pay for shipping and cost of welding of course.

I got this two weeks ago: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B009S7ALH8/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I spent part of this afternoon re-routing my DVI and power cables so they're fairly neat and tidy.
I was suspect that they would be sturdy for this price but they really are. My screens measure about 24" across including the bezel. I think they are 22" screens??
The top screen is adjustable vertically (only a small amount) but it's still just a little bit off. Not horrible, but it's there.
Good luck duuuude!

If you have 3 monitors and a tough desk, look at getting a monitor mount for them. The one I've got is built like a tank, and I just mounted my scissor arm on that. If you do not have a shock mount, that motherf***er will pick up every mouseclick and keystroke like you were hitting the mic with a hammer.
These are the parts I'm using:
Monitor mount: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009S7ALH8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Scissor arm mic mount: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OCH4JAE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You'll need a 3/8 inch female to 5/8 inch male screw adapter because the arm has a 3/8 inch screw and the Yeti needs a 5/8 inch.

Does anyone know how to get a rotring 800 with metal internals? I'd like another one, as mine is the plastic sort. The lead inside keeps breaking and I've heard the run with metal internals doesn't have this issue.
I found a vendor on Amazon that claims the internals are all metal. They're also running a sale, so it'd be great. Any idea if I can trust that?

The main issue I see with it is that the monitor is so wide that it’s hard to keep it perfectly straight, it has a weird “center of balance” which makes it rotate on the mount very easily, I can only imagine this would be even more pronounced for you.
Id probably recommend a single monitor mount for you.
This is the standard one;
VIVO Single LCD Monitor Desk Mount Stand Fully Adjustable/Tilt/Articulating for 1 Screen 13" to 27" (STAND-V001) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B21TLQU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_fudoDbWEGEV6Q
This is the articulating one, which may give you rotation issues (although maybe it’s just me).
VIVO Height Adjustable Single Monitor Arm, Fully Articulating Counterbalance Pneumatic Desk Mount | Universal VESA Stand for Screens up to 27 inches (STAND-V001O) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NH0HTM5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_qvdoDbEBCE68Y
whats your mouse? i dont know if training in this position is really....benefitial. Or maybe i am imaging it incorrect?! If you WANT to improve at this point then the casual mindset will be completely gone in a month or two...thats what happened with all of us. When i started i was like "oh yea i dont really care, my aim will be bad but it will be fun i guess" and now i train aim almost everyday and play on EU Supreme Elo, ESEA and in a Team...RIP :D
If there REALLY is no option for you to play on a table, then maybe the best option would be something like this: http://www.amazon.de/COUCHMASTER%C2%AE-Pro-PC-Gaming-integriertes-Kabelmanagement/dp/B00CCHRJ2Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451049748&sr=8-1&keywords=COUCHMASTER%C2%AE+Pro
that would be a hard surface with a good mousepad and that is really important for decent aim.
Edit: before i get more downvotes on that while i just try to help: i am not suggesting to buy this...its the idea...you can also build something like that.
Bungbox? The Sailor ones? Yeah, they’re quite cheap.
Can’t beat that per ml though: Pilot 350 ml bottles, black, blue black, red.
I have a rotring. It's a beautifully made pencil. I've had it for 3 years, perfectly balanced and great for sketching etc:

Doesn't come in .9 but it's an excellent pencil.
